I have a Pidgeot to fly on." She explained. She was very lucky to have her Pidgeot, he was very helpful when she needed to get some where with just how fast they can actually fly. She reached into one of the camera bag's pockets and Pulled out a Pokeball, and let out a Cutiefly. The little Pokemon flew around and then opted to rest on the top of Elizabeth's head. "Well I have my cutiefly here. I also have a Meowstic to help out with what ever I might need, and a Chatot. But they aren't very goo in crowds so I'll leave them there." She explained. "Unlike Pidgeot and Meowstic who help me out with work, I like to keep my little Cutiefly and Chatot for company." Katie had been right! Well, at least partially right. Elizabeth did in fact have a Pidgeot as a source of transportation. Katie had rarely ever seen Pidgeots before, Toucannon were more commonly found in Alola. Elizabeth let out a Pokemon that made Katie's face light up with excitement and happiness. "Cutiefly!" She exclaimed, watching the tiny Pokemon land on the Journalist's shoulder. "They are native to my home Region!" She said, smiling at the adorable little bumble. "Did you visit Alola and catch it there?"
Elizabeth then went on to explain how she also had a Meowstic (which she definitely did not know) and a Chatot. When she explained why she wasn't bringing them out, Katie nodded. "I know what you mean. If you thought Hoopa wiped out the food, if my Munchlax was out here right now..." She said, trailing off to suggest the idea was too horrible to speak aloud. "He's sweet, really, but he just... never stops eating. Of course she would defend all of her Pokemon to the ends of the earth, but some things were just obvious. Anyone who knew a Munchlax understood what gluttons they were.

Elfy  Marco DirkMarco nodded to him as he explained having left Unova for a job. Granted little did he know that his and Cyren's up-bringing were almost polar opposites. "Well good for you then. Moving on to better and brighter futures, huh?" He asked him. He assumed that he had to have left Unova for a reason, especially had he never gone back. With his own life that's all that would have made sense. Maybe not even money wise but maybe it was a choice done for the better. The conversation shifted to seeing Pokemon. He nodded to Cyren as he spoke. "Yeah. I've seen quite a few rare Pokemon on my travels, I've seen my own fair share of legendaries to boot." He answered. It was true, there had been many of times that he had stumbled upon a nest or home of a rare Pokemon, or had been caught unawares by a legendary. Some times he was caught very unawares, which was never fun for him. "But no, I'm not a trainer. Training always seemed exciting and rewarding in it's own way, but it never seemed to interest me." Marco explained. Growing up he wouldn't have had the means to go off and be a trainer, but as he grew older he had different interests. "I would say I'm an archeologist. I travel the world to discover ancient ruins and artifacts." Marco explained. Which was true. He went around the world and was good at discovering places that haven't been discovered and finding them first. However, he could see that being a Trainer did indeed have it's own rewards as the Noivern caught his attention again, only wanting him to secure the flower in her mane. "I take it, you're a trainer then?" He asked Cyren, then looked back to his Pokemon.

gravity_resistant  Estelle "Stella" Eleanore Crawford Estelle turned her attention back to the teenager, and his Pokemon rather then the Pokemon running around like they were out in the wild. While she preferred the Espeon, not only was she a beauty, with her appearance and shiny gym. But The Umbreon too seemed fairly calm and well trained. She couldn't help but admire him too and his pretty fur. She looked back to the teenager. "Hm" She said taking another sip. "I'm not big on the whole forgiving notion. I believe people say what they mean, and mean what they say. And I think everyone should own it." She began, as she eyed over the teenager. Just because she didn't have Pokemon gallivanting about, or arguing with a scantily clad blonde didn't mean she wasn't enjoying her time. "But what makes you say that my dear?" She asked him with an eyebrow raised. She hadn't been exactly rude to him, at least for her, so she was curious about the turn of conversation for the boy. Estelle watched with Julian as he Pokemon went by. He claimed they weren't hurting anyone, however shortly there after the Aipom had to tackle a dive-bombing Rowlet away from a table of food. "I suppose you're right, they haven't hurt anyone, yet." She replied. Which was true, they really hadn't hurt anyone but acting like that unsupervised she believed they would. But the attention was turned back to his Pokemon after he stated it was nice to meet her. "Thank you." She stated, before looking to his Pokemon, after he stated that they were well trained and have saved his life. "Yes, I have heard that the training life can be very dangerous." She spoke, believing that they might have saved his life one way or another. "Being your means of communication, and knowing how to battle does sound like it could be life saving." She added. She didn't know what his situation was, why he couldn't speak for himself, whether it be deaf, mute, or some other reason. She understood that could be hard, especially in a dire situation. That however she knew nothing about, she never went out adventuring or gallivanting about the world to train or have dangerous adventures, and she liked it that way. "They do act fairly well trained. They both look like a beautiful and healthy pair." She complimented. She fully believed it, their fur appeared shiny and healthy, as did the Espeon's gem. They didn't appear to be the ruffian Pokemon that she believed came with training.

gravity_resistant Elizabeth PlumElizabeth was pleased to see her face light up as she let out her cutiefly. Cutiefly was more then happy as well. Letting out a hum as she fluttered forward and flew a few excited circles around the blonde. The little puff ball nuzzled the girl's cheek before flying back to Elizabeth and rested on her shoulder again. The older blonde smiled even wider when she explained that her Pokemon was from her region, a which was Alola, which explained the Rowlet. "Mhmm, I did catch her there. I was working a story while I was there, and found her." She spoke, reaching over and running her finger over the fluffy Pokemon. "I had to go buy a Pokeball and everything before I could catch her." She chuckled, seeing that she wasn't a trainer, she didn't just have a Pokeball with her. The idea was funny to her, knowing that trainers, rangers and other people that worked with Pokemon like that usually kept themselves stocked with them. Kathrine seemed to understand why she didn't bring her Other Pokemon out, and explained why. "Oh, I definitely could believe that. I'd be afraid to stand in the way of a Munchlax and their food. They would definitely regret serving food." She added with another laugh. Imagining the Munchlax eating the entire hotel out of it's food. Not that she believed a single munchlax could. If he had evolved into a snorlax, now that would be a different story. Elizabeth stopped for a moment and looked around at the three Pokemon she had let out. "Do you think they're having any luck finding Hoopa?" She asked, now getting a little worried for the Legendary.

Elizabeth Morgan Demetri knew all kinds of things and it all served to wow the young woman. He immediately identified Belle--she had noticed his recognition--and was quite impressed with her Absol. This really was a wonderful person she had met! Nothing to say of his remarks about the efforts he had gone to for the sake of his grandmother. And the people. And Pokemon all over, too! She definitely liked these ideas. "Yeah! That's wonderful!" Liz blurted out eagerly, squeezing her lips upon realizing how it sounded out loud. "The having parties stuff, not the...dange--I'mmashutupnow." She was spectacularly failing at that speaking thing. It had gone much smoother when she was gushing about her Pokemon. That would do it! But first, she had incredibly important business to attend! The redhead curtsied again to Demetri's Roserade, offering the walking bouquet the same courtesy she had given his master. Then she crouched down in front of Lycanroc and pet the big, fluffy wolf Pokemon like he was little more than an adorable little Poochyena! A moment of gushing girlishness later, Liz composed herself and cleared her throat awkwardly. She really liked dog Pokemon. "Right! Yes. I have some more too. I don't think I trust Atlas, though. He can be...excitable." She remarked thoughtfully, seeking a polite way to say that she thought her Electabuzz would try to fight one of Demetri's Pokemon. Instead, her Salandit and Spinarak were released from their balls to join her Tsareena and Absol. For the most part, that is. Spike took one look at the strangers and scurried up Liz's leg to hide beneath the redhead's hair. Princess took position between Belle and Leah, looking almost like she was being guarded by the two grown Pokemon. She stared at Demetri's Roserade curiously, caustic acid dripping from her mouth unintentionally. Leah was still defensive, shying away from the offered hand but not rejecting an attempt to pet her if Demetri took the lack of direct aggression as consent. Liz's Absol had a problem with her new Baron friend and it showed in her body language. "Oh! Don't mind Spike. He's a sweetheart. Just takes some getting used to." She assured the Baron with a warm and uneasy smile.
What had seemingly been neglected dialog finally found its way to Liz's face. Her smile faded and she stroked Spike's head with one finger. "Be safe, together. Papa..." She trailed off, cleared her throat, then continued. "I think Papa would have liked you, and this ball. He loved when people came together." Her smile came back but the body language had changed to distant and prepared to go defensive. It wouldn't take an Alakazam to read her behavior. The fabric on her right arm rustled as she clenched a fist and the sleeve protecting her scars struggled to remain in place. "Oh! But. Nevermind! I'll just have to tell him about it when I go home." Her lie was unconvincing at best but it gave them both an out if Demetri chose to humor the young woman. "I can't imagine everyone was OK with that." She grew somewhat uneasy, glancing around the ballroom as if some of the nobility seemed more dangerous themselves. Scared things were dangerous. Why did that make her feel better? "Well, for what it's worth, I'm not here to hurt anybody that doesn't deserve it!" She announced eagerly, thrusting her fist out toward Demetri. "If anybody needs saving, I'll do my best! Nobody should ever be afraid to celebrate!" Liz declared, smiling broadly at the older male. She wanted to help set him at ease, and while Spike or Princess certainly couldn't inspire confidence, Belle was hands down Liz's strongest Pokemon available. All that really did was put Rhienne at some kind of impasse, deciding on whether or not she should trust their most innate senses and capabilities of noticing things that were inherently troublesome or otherwise chatoic, or to make a judgement for her own self based on what she could tell in the environment around her. They were both only looking out for her, and their reaction time each was more than enough to ensure that trouble would hardly come to Rhienne before it even had a chance to happen, but when she was in a sense ignoring them in favor of one thing or another, it almost made her feel bad.
However, from her own instincts and capabilities, there was nothing that Rhienne could feel was wrong with the situation, sure there was an outlying energy from Ridley among her Pokemon that definitely made her more prominent, but that didn't make her feel hostile or wrong. The ghost Amarie was more aligned with Rhienne's own energies, or it was maybe even that she felt familiar like her mother's house and the older spirits that she had gotten to know in her life, which definitely set her at ease with their new company. The ghost was looking at her pointedly though, and Rhienne had a mind to ask what the matter was, but as if she had just in that second been electrocuted by something, the fur on her ears and tail stood on end and bristled sharply. Something in the environment of the ball changed drastically in that moment that caused Rhienne to shift, her eyes intent and a stray spark of red electricity flitted over the jewel of her ring. Her sudden change in herself made Wattson jolt slightly beside her, and he glanced at her to the side, but Absolem was the one to come forward at such a drastic change.
"What happened? What was that energy," the Alakazam leered within Rhienne's mind, having felt the shift in the ballroom but he couldn't have known that it would have affected Rhienne like it did. There was just something off now about being in the ballroom, but nothing looked out of the ordinary, there didn't seem to be anything out of place or concerning in the slightest, but she had felt this same disconcerting feeling before one or two times, in no similar circumstances to each other, she just couldn't place what it was.
"I don't know... I can't explain it, it's like something or someone is here, I can feel it...," Rhienne returned, trying to calm her nerves again and regain control of the power she could feel surging around her.
"Just keep an eye out. I'm sure it's nothing, there's no one else that had any kind of reaction," she continued, but her attention had been drawn for only a moment while Ridley started to speak again, and Rhienne's ears flicked at the sound of her voice, coming back into focus.
"Huh? Right, both worlds, I guess both can have their ups and downs. Sorry, I uh, though I heard someone say my name," Rhienne murmured after only a moment, getting back into the conversation after one last sweep of the room. Ridley resumed though with her Delphox both trying to figure how long they had been traveling up until this point with the Mismagius recalling for them. A year was a good while, a lot could happen in a few months alone, given a whole year Rhienne could speak from experience and then some that it could feel like one had been traveling for much longer. She went on though about the particular kind of Pokemon that she trained most avidly, and it seemed that she didn't quite have an inkling towards more supernatural Pokemon, though the Delphox Delphine had something else to say on the matter about some of the other Pokemon they had among them.
"It was your Mismagius mostly, she's a very strong spirit, and usually they tend to favor those who are more understanding of the Pokemon who don't necessarily belong to this physical world," Rhienne answered then, a tad disappointed that it seemed she might have been mistaken, but that did still beg the question of what the Mismagius was doing with someone like Ridley.
"My mother and I study the relationship of Ghost, Dark, Psychic, and Fairy type Pokemon to the physical world, or other such Pokemon who have not so tangible abilities like Lucario and their aura capabilities," she commented, gesturing slightly to Wattson who stood beside her.
"Supernatural Pokemon are far and few between, not everyone understands them or what they're capable of, I thought with your Mismagius that you might have had a similar understanding, but it seems that you work together and take care of them well enough besides," Rhienne finished off, still noting how strong in their psychic abilities Jessica and Delphine appeared to be.
Already enjoying her conversation with the Delphox, Aviabra was pretty content with herself now that she found a much more social partner to partake in this party with as she fiddled a bit with the thin skirts of the dress that she wore. Delphine was pretty cool, she really like her already, and the Jynx was alright, she didn't have near as much energy though. Wattson however wasn't expecting to be pulled into the conversation as the Delphox spoke to him about the vest and tie that he wore for the event, only just glancing down at Aviabra in a bit of spite before returning to the fire type.
"I appreciate the compliment, I've just never dressed up for any occasion before, it wasn't exactly something that I had in mind for today," he fumbled a bit, unsure of how to segue after that, it seemed that he wasn't the only one that felt a bit out of place with the two very enthusiastic and ambitious psychic types. He moved over more towards the Jynx then as it seemed Delphine's attention was well beyond him towards Aviabra now, glancing at the red headed Jynx.
"I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that she always has this much energy? It's much like Aviabra, it could be dangerous to let them be around each other for too long," Wattson spoke then, already starting to feel Aviabra's own uncontrollable energy flowing freely with the Delphox around.
"Well, we're going to go back one day and get you a dress, your fur is so shiny and pretty, there's a lot of colors and fabrics that would look really good on you. But why do you have to fly there? You're a psychic type like me aren't you? Couldn't you just teleport there whenever you want," Aviabra asked, rather confused about why she would have to fly anywhere with Ridley and their other teammates. Sure, she wasn't really one to talk, her own teleportation was shoty at best, but she was getting better, and if she really wanted to go somewhere she could bet she could pull it off. But something Delphine said caught her attention only after the fact, and Aviabra stopped then to back track.
"You were in Alola too?? We could have met sooner, and then we could have gone shopping then! There were way too many people there at that giant festival though, we probably would have never seen each other," Aviabra went on, missing the major point of what had actually gone on in Alola, but very disgruntled that she missed out on what could have been potentially a really great shopping trip. |

Katie Du'Mont♪ My Bartender she's from the islands, her body's been kissed by the sun. Coconut replaces the smell of the bar, and I don't know if it's her or the rum. ♪ Their conversation was moving into something Katie could discuss for hours - Pokemon! The Pokemon of Alola were some of the cutest Pokemon in the world as far as she was concerned. "Isn't it just so beautiful there? I miss it sometimes. The beaches, there's no place in the world that has beaches like Alola does." She could feel the warm sand beneath her feet, the salty sea washing up to her ankles before receding. Suddenly she was hit with a very painful longing to be back home with her parents. She wanted to take a picnic to the beach, like they had when she was a little girl, but she knew that was an impossible urge that she would maybe never get to act on again. With no idea where Jasper was, she couldn't risk going back where everyone knew her. Besides her Father had spent a lot of money getting her safely off of the Islands, unnoticed. It would be too much to hope that he wouldn't be upset at her return.
"Yeah..." She said, brought back to reality. "Munchlax really can eat. You should have seen him going at this mountain of berries yesterday." Really, she had no idea about how much worse it was going to get when Munchlax actually did evolve. If she did, maybe she'd take steps to keep him a cute little Munchlax forever. There were items for that, she knew. "I bet they regret serving food already, with how quickly Hoopa raided it." And of course Hoopa came back up, with Elizabeth asking if she thought her other Pokemon had had any luck. That gave her pause for thought. "Well, I think that if they did find Hoopa, they would bring him back or at least come get me. I don't think they've found him yet but anything is possible I guess." She gave the Cutiefly another adoring smile. Then when she looked back up, she saw that Elizabeth looked a little worried herself. "It will be fine, I'm sure." Though now she was starting to feel not-so-sure at all.

rooker  Demetri Nathaniel AlbertDemetri couldn't help but laugh at the awkward response. "I think it's pretty wonderful too." He agreed as she turned her attention to his Pokemon. She curtsied to his Roserade, who in turn gave her a very graceful bow. Once she crouched down to pet his Lycanroc, he leaned into her hand as she pet him. Clearly he was enjoying the affection he was receiving, and returned the favor by offering a few licks. But once she stood back up and cleared her throat, he looked at her for a moment and blinked. Wondering why she stopped petting him. Why would anyone 'stop' giving him pets? He looked to Demetri and stuck out a paw at his leg to give him attention. He wasn't whimpering but more so questioning why he couldn't be the center of attention, and begging for more. "I know buddy, hard life huh?" Demetri replied scratching him behind the ear. Joking that he had such a miserable life because he wasn't being bet anymore, however his dog greatly agreed. However, Lycanroc's attention had been pulled by a few Pokemon that were running around searching for something. He watched them, as they moved around, not concerned or uneasy like his other canine counter part, Absol, but just curiously watched them go. Liz offered having more Pokemon, claiming one shouldn't be let out either, and let two more. A spinarak that quickly scurried away and climbed up Liz, and another Pokemon he didn't exactly recognize. The Bug Pokemon was pretty easy to know, living in big houses like he did, they tended to make homes in or around them, same for other large Pokemon. However, Demetri wasn't frightened by bug types. His Roserade however stood in his position again, one rose behind his back while the other was up to his face. But now his eyes were focused on something else. He had caught the eyes of the fellow poison type looking at him. He looked back into her eyes, but then to the fluid dripping from her mouth and watched it fall to the floor. Demetri didn't seem to notice it though, or it didn't bother him. "Well, he may be shy, but you look like you have a pretty strong team. together" Demetri complimented, as he turned his attention back to Leah who he was still offering to pet. With his own Lycanroc, he knew their body language at least the basics of it. He could see she was very against him being near her, or at least very defensive and cautious. He had never gotten to meet an Absol in person, but he was aware of their abilities. They were suppose to sense danger and disasters. They were known for that ability so well some believed the caused or bring disasters. However, it did strike a bit of nerves into him seeing how she reacted to him. Did that mean tonight was going to be a disaster, or was he in danger? He couldn't let it bother him. He retracted his hand without petting her, not wanting to make her feel more uneasy and stood back up.
As he did, it seemed that the tone in Liz changed, as they had talked about how the Ball came to be and what it was also for, he had seemed to have struck a cord with her. She appeared to be more withdrawn and lost in thought suddenly. He hadn't exactly heard what she said first as she was lost in thought, before she seemed to snap out of it and clear her throat. He wasn't exactly sure what he had said to cause it, but he was glad she seemed to no longer be as withdrawn. She commented on her 'papa' liking when people came together and that he would have liked him. But she quickly commented on how she'll have to tell him when she got home. He had just met her, but something told him that she wouldn't be able to do that. Most don't withdraw like that and talk about family in past tense. "Well I appreciate that he would. I think people should come together more often like this. I'm sure he is a really great man." Demetri offered. It wasn't up to him to question why she was trying to lie, and badly, maybe she wasn't over what had happened. Either way, he made sure to not use past tense on her father. She shifted and commented on how some must have not been happy. "No, you're right about that. It definitely was an up hill battle. But despite that, I'm still glad we were able to manage, and I think it's already a great Ball." He told her with a smile. It was a very tough battle to get everyone to agree, which didn't happen. But once the Archduchess had made her mind, no one was able to change it for her. Shortly there after Liz admitted to not wanting to hurt anyone who doesn't deserve it, and that she'll defend anyone with her team, with a fist thrown forward. He couldn't help but laugh, not laughing at her being able to hurt someone, just at her bode of confidence and open threat to those evil doers. When in Court, you couldn't just punch someone, you had to out wit them, it was a funny surprise to him. "I sure hope no one does need it." He started. "But from the sounds of it we're in good hands if anyone needs it." He told her. He had no doubt her team could take on a good fight. They looked strong, and she apparently had Gym Badges, so he believed her when she said she could give a good beating.  Demetri noticed that.

"I do see your point though, there are a lot of Pokemon out. Are Balls not normally this.. lively?" Unlike some people, Julian wasn't bothered admitting how little he knew about this sort of scene. When she started talking about how dangerous she thought training Pokemon could be, he nodded. "It can be very dangerous for sure, but I find that strength comes from a good challenge." He rubbed Umbreon's head, and Espeon just watched them, allowing them to communicate through her power.

gravity_resistant Elizabeth PlumKathrine seemed to really light up when they were talking about her home region. Elizabeth could definitely understand why, it was her home. Elizabeth assumed she hadn't been able to go home in some time, which made sense because she was a Ranger. She might have had to travel. Elizabeth knows all about that, having to always travel, but she was able to come home right after. "I didn't get to see as much as I wanted, but what I did see what so beautiful." She agreed. She had only gotten to visit for work, so she hadn't gotten to spend any time on the beaches or any of the luxuries of the island. She only got to see them, but just seeing everything was such an experience. "I would love to go back one day and really get to see the sights of Alola." Elizabeth added with a smile. However, Kathrine wasn't anymore. Elizabeth didn't understand the true reason why she was sad, just assuming she as homesick, so she dropped the topic as they moved on to her Pokemon. "I bet that was actually interesting to watch" She laughed. knowing that Munchlax had to have been ecstatic with a mountain of berries. Had it been the Munchlax rather then Hoopa, the hotel would have been in real trouble. Clearing out one round should be fine Elizabeth thought. "Well, the food was made for the people and Pokemon. I don't think it should be a problem at all that he ate all that food." Elizabeth shrugged off. Even if the Hotel was mad about it, she believed it went to good use. "I just wonder where he put it all" She joked. He was a rather small legendary, she was curious where all that food could have possibly gone. She looked around the room as the topic changed to where the Legendary might be. Surely it hadn't left. "I'm sure you're right." She agreed. Her Cutiefly hummed back at Kathrine as she offered a smile but then fluttered above Elizabeth's head and began to fly in a circle around her also started to look as well.

gravity_resistant Estelle "Stella" Eleanore Crawford Estelle listened to the young boy, was he trying to correct her, or change how she believed something. She listened to him quietly, and let him finish. "I understand what you mean. But where you're wrong is; I'm not listened out of context, dear boy. If any one is eaves dropping and misunderstands, I can't help that." She stated simply, however when she used 'dear boy' she didn't mean it in a negative way, just a phrase she used because he is a young man, and it came to her mind before his name did. If someone misunderstood something because they over heard a conversation she didn't think that was her problem. They shouldn't have been listening if it wasn't their conversation. He continued with an example, hinting that she may have misunderstood his intent. She took another sip. "I think you meant what you said. Or thought I suppose?" She questioned looking down to the Espeon again, then back to Julian again. "I am hearing your direct thoughts after all, I think your intent is quite clear." She stated again in a plain calm tone. She took a slow breath as she took a moment. "However, you are wrong no matter how innocent your intentions were." She began to explain, as she took another moment to adjust her cover that matched her dress. "I think a moment alone to your thoughts can do the heart and mind some good, especially if you can enjoy some music." She explained to him, and held an arm out gesturing to the life band that was still playing old fashioned music that would be to the Archduchess' liking. "It's not the best music around, but it's better then some. However, I suppose not everyone will be able to enjoy it..." She added, knowing that the younger guests wouldn't enjoy it, and had Julian actually been deaf, rather then mute, he wouldn't be able to enjoy it at all.

Elizabeth Morgan This was a good day. Liz met some people, she was making a new friend, and they were sharing Pokemon. This was what felt right to her. Her mood brightened upon considering this fact. This was much better than Battling. She would much rather show off her Pokemon than make them fight for her. "I grew up near Goldenrod--Oh! I said that already." She laughed awkwardly at her own mistake, waving it off with a flap of her hand. For a common girl, she had the airy dismissal of a courtly girl in the bag. "What I mean to say, I grew up on my father's farm just outside. When I was little he let me work on little jobs. Cleaning up messes, protecting the crops from dumb Bugs. No offense, Spike." She stroked her Spinarak who had made a distressed noise at the remark about Bug Types. Leah looked around warily before her stance finally relaxed. The feeling hadn't passed entirely, but she was confident now that whatever was wrong was something Liz wouldn't experience. At least not directly. She had to accept that as a win. Belle kept her eye on Demetri's Roserade. The closest thing to "her level" the Tsareena would accept right now. If he was any good at battling she imagined he would put up some resistance before she kicked the crap out of him. "A-anyway, it was a lot of fun. Ma would shout at me whenever I got in. I always made sure to get filthy. It's hard work chasing scavengers away. And Pe--err--pa's...Pokemon had to chase me away from the fences all the time!" Her mood had wavered when she nearly dropped a name, but she felt good about her recovery. It was not very convincing to make it sound like she was saying Pepa in the first place but it was better than letting this man know something that made her even more upset. It set her to babbling a bit longer. The projects she used to help with by collecting materials or holding parts that weren't too heavy for a small girl. Her stories all revolved around working with her father as a small child. It was not a difficult mystery to unravel why that was given how evasive she was talking about her father or "his Pokemon" in the present tense--even refusing to identify what Pesker was. Her smile waned and a nugget of confirmation slipped. "He...always promised we would work the farm together. When I was old enough." Her body language remained open in spite of the upsetting subject. A moment of distant reflection closed her up and she forced a plastic smile right back on. "Old bastard still won't let me work. I started this to prove I was big enough to work in his place now." Her deflections before were awkward and messy, but talking about her father made it come much more easily. She was well-versed in pretending he was still something she could see anytime. Or that her anger was about him being stubborn relating to his daughter running a farm when she had a life to live. She was inwardly pleased with herself. Her temper hadn't flared yet.
A few moments of silence after half-admitting why she had started this Journey, Liz smiled bashfully at Demetri. "Oh. Here I am talking your ear off! Haha! How selfish of me." She didn't actually ask for Demetri to divulge his own history, only hoping that she hadn't offended the Baron with sharing so much. Her stories had all been graciously short, however, the tales of a young woman trying to recall the bombastic imaginings of a juvenile self. Her cheeks reddened and the plastic broke to show a genuinely comfortable smile. "I've...never told anyone that. Talk about oversharing! Am I right?" She laughed off her own discomfort, basking only briefly in the pleasant company of the Archduchess' Grandson. This was a good day. rooker Demetri Nathaniel AlbertDemetri listened to Liz as she continued to rattle long about her past. He wasn't exactly sure what made her speak so... nervously. No one really was intimidated by him, yes he was the Baron, but he tried to be kind and charismatic around the people. He maybe experienced it in the cities to those who recognized him, but didn't know him. He had seen people nervously speak to his grandmother. Of course, he knew her nerves didn't come from intimidation, but it was strange experiencing it.He listened closely to her history, finding it fairly interesting that she grew up on a farm. He had visited farms on flights, but he had never actually worked on one or lived on one. "Oh interesting, I didn't think there were farms in Goldenrod. " He replied thinking about it. It wasn't that he had thought she was lying, it's just he had never heard of a rural side of the City. "I've never gotten to travel to Johto, so I haven't had the pleasure to see it. All I've gotten to hear about it is the Radio Tower, and how large the city is." He explained. He knew Goldenrod was one of the largest cities in the world, he just hadn't had an opportunity or reason to make that journey. Demetri often wondered what it would have been like to grow up on a farm, or some where in a more rural area. How much different everything would be. Of course, he visited them but never was able to stay and actually live there. Meanwhile, Demetri's Lycanroc continued to pout at the lack of attention he was getting, but he remained quiet about it, and decided to lay down on the floor, and sulk about how poorly he felt this Ball was going. No one was giving him attention, what kind of party is that? His Roserade ignored what would be his fellow team mate. The flower was having a hard time looking away from the fellow poison type, the drool that was leaking from her mouth was fairly gross to the poisonous rose. Luckily for him, he his eyes could rest on the other lovely flower, or fruit more like, opposing him with Liz. He found Belle beautiful like any other Tsarenna, but he wouldn't dare speak out of turn. The older male couldn't help but laugh at what he thought was a joke, about her insuring to get covered in mud. "At least you had fun while working out there, I would have never been allowed to go out and get 'filthy' while working outside." He told her, however not in a sad tone, just making the comment. He felt like he had no real right to complain with his upbringing. He was already catching on there was something there with her father. He could tell he had either died, or something else had happened to him. Either way he felt like it would be to intrusive of him to push the topic. She began to state that she would be allowed to work on his farm when she was old enough, and she started to train to prove she was indeed old enough. "Seeing how strong your Pokemon look, as well as your Gym Badges, I'm sure you've proved yourself already, and made him proud." Demetri told her with a nod. He hoped she knew that, he had just met her but she seemed strong willed to him, nervous, but strong willed. Her Pokemon looked healthy so she had to have been treating them nicely, as well as if she had a Gym Badge then they had to be strong too.
There was a pause shortly after. Demetri felt it would be rude of him to suddenly change the topic, as if he hadn't cared about what she had said, so the pause remained until she apologized for talking his ear off. "It's been much more interesting then the usual conversations at Balls like these, usually being wealth." He explained shrugging it off. It would be a lie if he said he didn't enjoy some conversations about wealth and luxury, but when it turned into bragging or the 'my horse is bigger then your horse' that's when it became a bore. She continued on saying she hadn't ever told anyone about what she had said already. This he found interesting, and curious. It didn't seem like it was a deep dark secret. But it was clear it meant something to her at least. "What better place to over share then, At a ball in a foreign region?" He explained to her, meaning that if there was someone she was worried about talking to, maybe this was a good chance. Elfy Marco DirkMarco could only nod in understanding when Cyren admitted to having 'something like a' better and brighter future. At least he seemed to be working on it. He went on to talk about how interesting it must have been encountering a Legendary and their fascinating stories. He couldn't help but grin at that statement. "Yeah, it always is very interesting when you see one in the distance, or out in nature. Not so much when you stumble upon it resting in some ruins or a temple." He explained chuckling a bit, which may explain the visible scar or two he was brandishing. Seeing them in a distance or in a clearing was a very humbling experience and struck awe in the male. But when facing off with an angry and territorial one... It was frightening. Cyren then asked what his favorite place to visit. "Hmmm, That is a tough question. I have traveled to almost every region..." He began to speak, having to stop to think which would be his favorite, scratching his chin as he thought. "I usually don't visit or excavate in popular locations like the Ruins of Alph because there's nothing to discover there." He started, taking a breath for added time to really think through where he's traveled too. "I think for digs, my favorite would have to have been either The Ruins of Pokémopolis, Dandelion Island, or the Abyssal Ruins. But For just myself, I enjoy visiting Unova, and Alola the most." He explained. He had traveled the world to look at ruins, to see some that most had never even heard of, and those were usually the best. However, he did still enjoy visiting the bigger cities, or relaxing on the beach.
Cyren explained that he had just started being a trainer with his sister in Alola. "Oh, well you seem to be off to a great start for just recently becoming one, with beastie and your Machop here." He explained. While Machop may be common, Noivern weren't especially for someone just starting out. "I'm sure your Pokemon will give the Gyms in Alola some hell." He told him with a grin. He never had the drive to battle a gym, but he knew most trainers went for them, so he was sure even with how young Eva was, she would probably do well in one. He then asked about his own Pokemon. "I do actually. I have a few Pokemon that help out with travel or digs. But he is the only one I dare let out in here." He explained, as he began to open his old leather bag. He pulled out a scratched up pokeball, and opened it. However, the beam reversed from the floor and went back to Marco, as the Pokemon appeared on his shoulder. Of all his Pokemon, he knew that his Sableye would behave. His ghost Pokemon appeared resting on his shoulder, his arms hanging over Marco's front, while his legs hung down his back. The Ghost quickly took in the surroundings as his head darted around, seemingly looking for something before relaxing back down and looking at Cyren then his Pokemon. "My Sableye definitely is a big help when I'm excavating, even if it's just for some company." He explained, leaning his head onto the ghosts as the Sableye took the affection. Marco put his Pokeball back in his back and began to safely latch it closed. Cyren discovered some of the Pokemon Marco has.(I'm sorry about the delay! I've been so busy and unable to post!)

If she studied all of that, maybe she would know something about the Ball from hell, or Darkrai's tower. That was something she might have to ask her later on if they stayed in good graces. However, Ridley wasn't exactly interested in what ever she was trying to bring up, and shook her head before continuing. " That's... New. And you can tell a psychic type or ghost type are strong just by looking at them?" Ridley asked crossing her arms, curious of the answer. She had said Jessica and Delphine were strong psychic types, and she knew Amma was a strong ghost. How was it that she could know that just by looking at them. Delphine didn't exactly act strong or tough, and Jessica definitely didn't look strong. Rhienne continued on to compliment them on working together and that she had to treat them well. Ridley paused for a moment to look to her Delphox who was talking excitedly with her Medicham, then back to Rhienne. " Yeah. They don't make it easy. But I do what I can." She said with a breath and a shrug. The pokemon she had out worked together fairly well, Jessica and Delphine were best friends. But the rest of her Pokemon tended to bicker or argue with each other. But luckily for her, when the time came, they were able to band together when it mattered. Delphine listened to the Mega Lucario. He thanked her for her compliment and stated it wasn't something he planned to do with his day. " You're welcome. But my offer still stands, if you don't want it, I'll take it!" She told him again. She thought she was just as good looking as Jessica, and the other trainer said she was strong. So she definitely could pull off a dude's vest and tie. Wattson moved closer to Jessica, as she asked about Delphine, and claiming it might be dangerous. " She's always had more energy then most, but I wouldn't say she's ever been dangerous." The Jynx commented, crossing her arms and shifting her weigh, which was very apparent in her hips. She didn't exactly like the idea of him thinking Delphine could be dangerous, but she understood he didn't mean any thing negative by it. Delphine wasn't paying attention to Jessica or Wattson anymore, just her new friend. They had a plan now to go back and shop in Alola. However, she asked her why she had to fly, and not teleport. " Well yeah, I'm a psychic type. But I can't teleport. That's way to hard." She told Aviabra. " Amma is the only one that can teleport us, but she does it with these weird tokens and a spell, but really scary and makes everyone sick." She explained as if it was a normal thing for everyone. Delphine had never exactly been a strong psychic, She had only been a Delphox for so long, she didn't know how to control her psychic abilities yet, she didn't really even know what abilities she had yet. She held out her staff and turned it sideways and let it, go only for it to float in front of her where she let it go. " That's the best I got. But I've learned I can fly around on it. But I can't long enough to actually travel on." Delphine told her. She was proud of her new trick on how to fly, but she knew it wasn't anything as cool as teleporting. The conversation made another swift turn back to Alola, which the Delphox nodded quickly. " Yeah we were! We were there for the festival too!" Delphine commented excitedly. What were the odds that her and her new best friend was there! " It was a lot of fun, at least until those giant ugly jellicent attacked with those other aliens." Delphine added still bitter that they had ruined the festival. " They're called Nihilego. But we got to go back afterwards to enjoy everything." Jessica corrected, and tried to keep Del from pouting, however she did shift again uncomfortably at the memory of the Ultra Beasts. " Yeah... It still sucked." Elizabeth Morgan Demetri's encouragement and patience was more than she could have hoped for. Liz's enjoyment of this party had absolutely reached a pique for her. "Oh, yes. Well, the city doesn't have any. We live outside of city limits, but we're part of the territory." She explained quickly, running off what made her from Goldenrod when she was--technically--not living in the city itself. The redhead nodded quickly as he established his own inability to get so dirty. She had to admit, she couldn't imagine her life without running around her father's land and learning through personal experience. It sounded strange to her. "Oh, Goldenrod City is an exciting place! I hear there's a regional ferry, and trains!" Liz had to stop herself and blink briefly. "I...forget which you'd have to take." She blinked again. She had to think hard for a few moments before she shrugged dismissively. "Anyway, you can go straight to Goldenrod if you ever decide to visit Johto! You'll love it there!" She announced adamantly to the baron.
Liz couldn't help but feel embarrassed even with Demetri's assurance that she was just fine. Her smile cracked as she struggled to keep the facade going. She fidgeted nervously and bowed her head. "Oh! I guess that's not so bad." She laughed nervously still and waved her hands at him. "But you do have a party to watch over! I think I've taken enough of your time. Thank you so much! For inviting everyone, and talking to me. This was a wonderful visit." She said and folded her hands before her and bowed her head instead of curtsying this time. She was enjoying her chat but she was feeling annoying at this point. Demetri had things to do, she was sure, or more important people to talk to at the very least! She continued on to say he should visit, and how he could. "I think you might be right, I've never traveled to Johto or Kanto, so maybe I'll have to make the trip some time." He told her with a nod. She thinks he would like it, which he might it was a big city, so he knew there would be plenty to see and do while he was there. With how small the regions were, he didn't think there would be any reason why he'd need to visit for politics, but he wouldn't mind visiting just to see the sights. "I'm not sure which I would take actually... But when I do, I'll see if I can't visit your farm, if that would be alright?" He purposed. He believed it would be a pretty nice to see and visit. However, after waving off that it might not be so bad having all the same conversations, and that she took up enough of his time. He understood, there were lots of people to meet here, he couldn't take up all her time, just as she didn't want to take up his. "I appreciate that, I hope you really enjoy the party to it's fullest. I've enjoyed our conversation." He told her with his kind smile. She gathered her Pokemon, and off they went. He couldn't help but chuckle at the little spider peeking out before leaving, as well as he let Leah take a final cautious sniff before running off. With how many Pokemon were around, he didn't exactly want to contribute more then he should. He knelt down next to his Lycanroc. "Thank you for being patient buddy. How about tomorrow we can do on a run and spend the day together." He offered as he scratched the canine's head. He sufficiently perked up as he agreed. Demetri took that chance to return his dog, and stood back up. He looked at his watch, and stood even straighter, as he began walking towards the staged area, with his Roserade following along behind him gracefully.Liz made a good impression on Demetri

 Lucille Natasha PevenseyAfter having spent some time alone in the Garden, Lucille began making her way back into the Ballroom. She had found the garden was a bit larger then she had expected, and a bit more relaxing. It was not to mention noticeably quieter without the rampaging zoo. But the sound of running water, and the fragrant flowers was enough to calm the blonde. It was relaxing to her getting to be outside and away from the chaos. She had been able to do anything she wanted really. She continued back into the Ballroom, now with a flower nestled in the back of her styled blonde hair, as well as tucked behind her ear. These flowers she thought were the most beautiful but also smelt the nicest. She gently fanned herself, not that she was hot really, but it was the notion of it that she enjoyed. Using her pink Pokemon feathered fan as she reentered. Not much had changed as she walked back into the room. Eying over everything, and everyone, she made her way towards one of the tables, to sit and watch people, and decide if there was anyone she wanted or needed to talk to. |

Marcellus could see that they were making conversation with party goers, which was always a good thing at a function like this. However he was just surprised at the choices they both had made. Liz was speaking with a nicely dressed older guy, while Julian was talking with a much older woman. Not that he would really think they would pick or choose, he just hadn't expected them to choose them to speak with. After skimming the room, he didn't see anyone he recognized here. Granted, he hadn't been to Kalos before, though he did admire it. But he hoped to see at least one familiar face. Maybe Emiri, though maybe it was a good sign he didn't considering the last ball they went to together. But he thought it would have been nice to see Sasori. Someone he had met over a year ago, maybe longer, while battling Missingno. He was more then happy that he hadn't seen Sarah, that terror from the Ball. Either way, it might be a nice change to meet new people. For that reason he had decided not to meet up with Liz just yet. He thought he might meet someone else, maybe have a conversation, but first maybe find a drink. Marcellus looked about the room once more before beginning to walk, based off of clothes he was sure he could pick off who were suppose to be the Nobles from Kalos, so he wanted to highlight them in his mind. But his eyes seemed to stop on a girl with dark hair, with espeon ears, speaking with a girl with blonde hair and a very revealing and scandalous dress. Immediately Marcellus had a disliking for the girls, for two very different reasons. The Blonde was just disrespectful with her dress, he almost didn't want to look at her, with the fear of seeing too much. While the other... She seemed off. She was wrong. Everything about her just threw Marcellus off his good mood. He wasn't psychic, nor could he see or feel energies, but he immediately just felt off about her and a deep rooted disdain for her. He could see a collective of Pokemon next to the girls, Mismagius, Jynx, Delphox, Medicham, and Mega Lucario, but he couldn't decipher which Pokemon belonged to which. XXXXXCronus seemed to have found the same two girls, but for much different reasons. He was psychically scanning the rooms, searching any mind that would have any negative or harmful intentions like Raphiel had. Anything with an evil mind. At first, there was no one standing out to him, until he he found two blind spots in his blanketed search. The two blind spots were the minds of the blonde and dark haired girls, though they were two different kind of blind spots. The blonde's was easy to look around. It was almost like having a single wall up that he could just walk around to get into. The Mewtwo could sense it was more of a protective measure. He recognized the Blonde's aggressive and quick tempered mind as well as the Mismagius's, they had been at the Ball too, so no harm there. But the younger girls, her's was more tricky. He could tell she was protected by a strong psychic, one that he would admit was nicely trained. But it wouldn't hold Cronus out for long. The legendary psychic didn't break the psychic barrier protecting her down, he merely just poked a quick hole and slipped in. He didn't intend to invade her mind, or do a deep dive, merely to check that she wasn't a threat. However, because of the blind spot, and they very strong psychic protecting her he was going to spend a little extra time checking on her. It was the work of an Alakazam that was protecting her, he figured out. After a quick check he was able to find she wasn't a threat at all, really, she had been a psychic trainer, alongside ghost, fairy, and dark. She was good at it too, if the Alakazam wasn't proof enough. He was almost impressed. With that, he decided to slide back out of her mind and let the psychic barrier repair itself. Marcellus however wasn't as calm. He set back in his stance, and narrowed his eyes while looking at the girl in the black dress. He looked to Cronus. "Cronus, what do you think of that girl?" Marcellus asked, letting his face soften again, as he tried to appear as if he was having a normal conversation. "She seems to be a fine trainer." Cronus replied calmly. Marcellus's calm expression shifted to one that could be viewed as disappointed. Marcellus wanted something to be wrong with her, because there was. He could just tell, and he wanted Cronus to validate that. "I assumed you wouldn't like her, but it's interesting your intuition is that strong." He added, which wasn't meant as a compliment to Marcellus. The white haired trainer straighted back up and fixed his expression. "I can't imagine what you're talking about." Julian found this older woman to be somewhat annoying. It was as though she was mocking him. "No, you misunderstand. You hear the thoughts I wish you to hear. Even then, thoughts can be misunderstood as well as words." What did it matter to him if she was determined to have a poor time here? "Yeah, I'm sure the music is great for those who can actually hear it." He said, in truth hoping that she felt bad about how she had said that. Perhaps sensing that this was not going nearly as well as she'd intended, Espeon began scanning the room for Liz. If anyone here were able to help Julian settle down in an unfamiliar environment, it was the young Trainer who had so enamored him. She found Liz, but realized that the girl was deep in a conversation with another guy. Not wanting to pry, she quickly vacated the girl's mind and allowed her to carry on in private. Well, that was just great. Now she had to keep Julian away from that end of the ball.
So then what about Marcellus? Sure, it was a long shot, the two were polar opposites and had butted heads more than once, but... maybe. Her mind reached out, found the barrier of Cronus, and quickly made it clear that she meant no harm. She simply wanted a message relayed to the white-haired Trainer that Julian was liable to lose his temper talking to the more entitled lot around here, and that she wondered if Marcellus was too busy to meet up with them at some point. Espeon rather liked Marcellus despite his occasional distaste of the Eeveelution's Trainer. Little did she know, however, that Marcellus was quite preoccupied with the dark-clothed woman and the blonde they'd seen arguing with an heiress earlier.

Katie Du'Mont♪ My Bartender she's from the islands, her body's been kissed by the sun. Coconut replaces the smell of the bar, and I don't know if it's her or the rum. ♪ Meanwhile the trio of Pokemon set to the task of finding Hoopa were still on the hunt. Rowlet had found his way outside and was flying over the courtyard and gardens. They were lovely and the ripe fruit hanging from the trees caught his eye instantly. Just like that, he forgot everything he was supposed to be doing and bolted after the fruit. Having been denied the food inside, Rowlet was growing hungrier by the minute and he couldn't resist the temptation of this yummy fruit. Soon he had plucked many berries, though it took more than one trip to carry them all to the fountain where he finally settled in for a meal.
Scout and Aipom were wandering the halls. There were beautiful tapestries and expensive-looking vases (As Aipom quickly found out, with nothing in them). It was aesthetically pleasing yet seemed only to cater to the expensive taste with little to no real use to them. Unfortunately, it was also the sort of place that two small Pokemon could get easily lost in. Really, it was little more than a maze once you really got in. "Hopefully this isn't a haunted hotel.." Said Aipom, looking around at Scout and hoping to be reassured.
"I don't find that very funny." Grovyle replied. He put on a brave face that fooled Aipom, but when the small monkey looked away Scout looked around nervously. Where was everybody? Even with the party going on, there should have been staff or guests around somewhere. Maybe they were all just missing each other, staff appearing in hallways the Pokemon had just left... it was easier to think of it like that than to believe they were in a spooky place with nobody around to hear them scream.
Katie and Elizabeth were chatting happily about the Alola Region. Katie explained about some of the hidden beaches that were even more beautiful than those frequented by tourists. There was also this little ledge that, after you go through a cave and make it through to the other side, you could look down over the entire island from above. It was the first cave system Katie had ever explored, and it had solidified her love of finding the unknown and secret locations with breathtaking beauty. She explained all of this to Elizabeth, hoping she wasn't boring her but eventually the conversation returned to Hoopa. "Oh, well... I trust my Pokemon to behave, and Hoopa really can look after himself." She explained. "Maybe I should go look for him though..."
