gravity_resistant  Estelle "Stella" Eleanore Crawford Estelle could easily tell the teen was getting short with her, however that didn't bother her in the slightest. She had been enjoying herself at the Ball and she was fairly entertained by his beautiful Pokemon, that's all she cared about. He explained that his Espeon only projected what he wanted her to, as if he were speaking. "Hm" She stated again taking a sip, however this time it sounded as if she were more in thought rather then disagreeing or uninterest. "How clever she must be then. Sifting through all your thoughts but only verbalizing the ones you want her to. Interesting." She commented as she looked back down to the Espeon. She thought that had to make her fairly smart, being able to go through all of the thoughts he had, even the subconscious ones, and sending out only the ones he would want. She was impressed with the Espeon's ability. Julian continued to comment on the fact that it's only nice if one would hear it. He didn't sound angry, but he could tell the intent behind his statement. "You're right. Can your espeon not put the music into your mind like she is my words?" Estelle questioned, with an eyebrow raised. She was actually curious of the answer, if musical sound would be different from the words she were speaking.Estelle will remember that.

gravity_resistant  Elizabeth PlumElizabeth was enjoying her conversation with Kathrine. She found it interesting to hear from the mouth of an actual local from Alola about where to go and what to see. There were always those commercials, articles and travel guides telling you where all the hotspots were, but those were just the touristy sides of the islands. Elizabeth would want to visit the real sights of Alola, to get the feel of how the region really was. Kathrine began to explain about the hidden beaches she knew and everything about hidden beautiful caves and cliffs to visit. That was exactly what she would have wanted to visit. "Wow, that does sound amazing to see." She told her, as her little Cutiefly hummed in agreeing with her. "Say, after the Ball, do you think we could get together and maybe you can tell me where those hidden beaches were?" She asked her, hoping she might get to visit them on her next visit. "Maybe I could interview you too, to run a story on Rangers. That could help me get back into the swing of things." She purposed as well. It might be a nice change of pace with mostly hearing about training, as well as Elizabeth thought Kathrine was a good representation of the Rangers and the school. She then explained that her pokemon were well behaved, and Hoopa could take care of himself. She glanced nervously about the room seemingly at someone, before looking back to Kathrine. "I could tell, your Pokemon were pretty trained and well behaved." Elizabeth agreed with a smile. "I'm sure your Pokemon will definitely find them for you if you don't." Elizabeth offered her, trying not to make her worried about Hoopa.

Elizabeth Morgan Liz had a need to go back and give Demetri her contact information, but she decided against it. She had already taken up so much time and she didn't trust herself to excuse herself again once they had traded numbers. The redhead found herself enjoying some refreshments, stopping to feed more to her Pokemon as well, before she seemingly stumbled upon the path up to the Archduchess. She stopped short of lifting her foot up to the stage, realizing she had eyes on her after a moment of tension. Her jaw dropped when she confirmed just how close she had come without actually looking up. The Archduchess was right there! Apart from everyone, but nonetheless quite near. Liz had the unfortunate idea that she could probably reach the woman if she had been up to something. Not in these heels, of course. Liz smiled slowly, her nerves getting the better of her now that she could no longer pretend she was just wandering. So she proceeded to make a mess of all that carefully considered "speaking" she wanted to do. "Your Honor! Wait--That's a judge--Grace! I'm sorry!" Liz, instead of following the brilliant suggestion of "shut up" from in the back of her mind, could only continue. "It's a great party! You're so thoughtful letting everyone visit! And...pretty! Wow, you're pretty. I mean, of course you are, why wouldn't you be, right?" Her mind raced and her mouth chased after it wildly. "It must be wonderful, seeing everyone again. I heard you don't do this much. You really should! I'd like to come next time, for sure!" Her words came out in a rush of anxious stupidity. Nothing offensive came out of her mouth really, but she was certainly talking a noble's ear off. Again, come to think of it. Katie really enjoyed the Alola talk while it lasted, and she agreed that when this was over she would be glad to show the other blonde the better spots around Alola. What was the risk after all, Jasper was supposedly running around Hoenn looking for her so there was no more dangerous place for her to be than there. "But... you'd have to fly us there. I don't really want to go back to where I was when the Abra transported me here." She admitted.
Then the blonde girl looked at someone behind her, and the look was one of worry and suspicion. "What? What's wrong?" She asked, looking over her shoulder hoping to see what Elizabeth had seen. "What aren't you telling me?" She more or less demanded. The Journalist may have been trying not to worry her, but she had failed in that regard. "Is something more going on here than you let on?" This was not the first reason she'd had to suspect that something was amiss. She had looked worriedly over at something or someone right when they were discussing Hoopa and that made her nervous.

Elemental Paradisity gravity_resistant rooker Elfy    Archduchess Adelaide Beatrice AlbertAs the time slowly ticked by, The Archduchess sat up on her comfortable chair, while the party continued. While, this party hadn't been as populated as she normally would have expected from the Royal Court, and those other important guests, it was heavily populated by Pokemon. Some of which she hadn't seen in years, or never had seen before. However, that interest had long since wavered as she had nothing to do but people watch. Her two well behaved Snubbull sat at her feet calmly, watching those Pokemon move bath and forth. The Pink one seeming to glare more so. The Archduchess thought there might be some interest here considering this was the first time she had been in a public event, but the turn out wasn't as much as she expected. However she wasn't all to upset about that either. A better word to describe how she felt was bored. Normally the Ball would be full of those trying to climb their way up the ladder, or to afraid to offend anyone so they were walking on egg shells. Adelaide could spot them from a mile away, which was equally just as boring. However now, it seemed like these trainers were just letting their Pokemon run a round as they so choose the first chance they got. The Archduchess thought Pokemon should be well trained, like her Snubbull, if they were to be allowed at such an event. No matter how large or small they were, they should heel next to their owners obediently, and that was that. But clearly that wasn't the case. "How disappointing. I almost thought this would be more entertaining then the preened grovelers we're use to." She commented quietly to her care taker with a bored sigh. Her aged hand slowly raised and fell on the arm of the chair out of boredom. Had this been any other event, she would have left long ago, or organized by her grandson. She greatly disagreed with his standpoint on the people, and had she not cared for him as much, she would have easily told him where to stick his idea. To everyone's surprise, she went along with it, and now she was regretting it. "Lady Albert, this is a wonderful engagement for the public. This is a gracious way to have citizens of Kalos and beyond become involved in something that they couldn't have fathomed the opportunity for. It's almost as though you've given them a gift in kind," Rhya offered in a soft tone, gently reminding the duchess of the reason why they opted for a public affair. Demetri was right, as he always was, to get the public more involved was to show great strides in the family's influence of the region, and she could speak from experience in knowing that having opportunity available was the best way for individuals to become more involved and learn.
Shortly there after Demetri walked up to the lifted area, pausing only to bet the shiny Snubbull. The Archduchess had been watching him mingle and go gallivanting around the kitchen to help the servants. She didn't like that one bit and it showed on her stern face. "It's time we bring in your Birthday Gifts." He commented with an excited smile on his face. As he did he noticed a familiar Red Head walk up and go to greet the Archduchess. "If you would give us a quick moment, Liz, It's time to open the gifts." He told her, hoping Liz would understand. The Archduchess let out a sigh. "Ah yes, lets play their game of 'Who can spend the most' while I show off what the guests could never afford. I'm sure they would love that." The Archduchess responded quietly, with an icy sarcasm to her voice. Archduchess Adelaide knew that it usually was just a show boat on who could spend the most money for gifts, not so much meaningful gifts. She never really liked the notion, flaunting the money you can throw away on buy gifts for someone who could easily get it themselves, that's why only those truly dear to the Archduchess ever received a gift from her. "Grandmother, they're here to see you, and see you happy." He replied with a laugh, he knew how she was. She was just being brutally honest with how she felt, and he knew that. "I've spoken with some of the guests, and they're very appreciative of being here for you." He told her, honestly. This didn't seem to make her happy but it at least softened her scold. "Fine fine, If everyone did travel all this way, they might as well get a show." She commented, giving in on the gifts. She was interested in seeing who would have actually sent her gifts. She made a mental list of everyone who hadn't showed. All but the King, Queen, and Princess. Knowing they wouldn't show to begin with. With that Demetri stood up on the lifted area and turned to face the guests. "Hello everyone, I would just like to thank each and every one of you for attending the Archduchess Adelaide Beatrice Albert, My Grandmother's, Birthday Ball. She is happy you have all taken the time to spend it here with her. Now we are going to be opening her Birthday Gifts." Demetri announced happily. He didn't know if anyone would really care to watch or go back to their mingling, but he thought it should be announced none the less.
After he finished his short speech, he stepped back next to the Archduchess' chair, opposite of Rhya. The guards on both sides of the stage area suddenly stood to attention as the right guard whistled. Once it ceased, an Abra appeared in front of the Archduchess, delivering a long flat box, beautifully wrapped. Once she accepted the gift the Abra disappeared. "A gift sent by the Lady Marquis of Kalos." The left guard informed. The old woman untied the box, looking inside. Demetri leaned in to look in the box. "Oh, very kind of her." He commented, as the Archduchess lifted a rather large diamond necklace into the air. The Necklace shined in the light as she held it. "Hm, Quite nice. It's dreadfully heavy." The Duchess commented setting it back in the box, sounding unimpressed. It was a mere necklace, which was very extravagant, but it was easy to send a maid to go and buy jewelry for her. The routine continued as the Archduchess finished opening and revealing her gift, the box disappeared and another Abra appeared with the next gift. It was a hand woven rug with an ornate and complicated design filled with vibrant colors. It was announced as a gift from one of her son's business partners. "What an... Interesting pattern..." She commented slowly, still looking at the rug as if she didn't understand it. "It must be an influence from somewhere very exotic. I'm sure it's a very unique and individual pattern your grace," Rhya admired, enjoying the bright colors and intricate patterns that adorned the rug, it was certainly unlike any more ornate rug that she had seen for decoration. "We'll have to send him thanks." She finished to Demetri, accepting this gift more so then the diamond necklace, knowing he had no obligation to send her a gift. She also believed no one in their right might would just grab this gift for her at random or without thought to it. He had to have put thought into it so she was going to respect that. Next was a hand carved wooden wardrobe, announced from the Countess of Kalos. After having a guard open it for her to peek inside, she accepted this gift as well, how ever a bit more lack luster then the rug. After it disappeared, there was a pause. No Abra appeared. There was a moment of silence as she looked up to Rhya, then Demetri before the door to the Garden swung open. There was loud foot steps as a Machamp walked into the room carrying a large statue of a male Pyroar. The Muscular Pokemon set the statue down carefully in front of The Archduchess, who was scowling at the statuesque Lion. It was announced that the Earl of Kalos got her the gift. "What a display of testosterone." She commented lazily. "Sending in a presentation of masculinity carrying a statue symbolizing bravery. When he wasn't brave enough to attend the Ball himself. How interesting." She commented very interested. With a breath she waved her hand and both statue and Machamp disappeared thanks to an Abra Guard. "How about we make sure the Machamp was rewarded...." Ryha Commented to the nearest Guard, who nodded. There were various gifts there after, a mixture of furniture, and jewelry, rarely impressing the Duchess. All until the last gift. "Your final gift is from Princess Allie of Kalos." They announced. As usual na Abra appeared, but merely holding a Pokeball, which appeared to be covered and encrusted in Diamonds. "What a beastly girl she is, I cannot imagine what she would have gifted me." She accepted the Pokeball and opened it. The light didn't shine red, but white and silver. The light simmered and glittered, revealing a Pokemon that silenced even the Archduchess. "What... Is that a Shiny Gigalith?" Demetri asked shocked. The Gigalith stood proud in the center of the room, the lights glittering and shining off of his body. Rhya stepped forward, and plucked the card from the Gigalith. "The card says, The only person that can possess this Pokemon should be as strong and unmoving as you. I hope you like him, he's made of... Solid Diamond. Happy Birthday" The brunette read allowed. The stage was silent for a moment, as the Archduchess stood from her chair for the first time and walked forward, both Demetri and Rhya following close behind. The Archduchess reached out and placed a gloved hand on the Diamond Pokemon's head as he bowed his head. "Dear Heavens... That is quite the gift." She commented, before looking back to her grandson. "She might not be as beastly as I thought... We must get in touch with her tomorrow." She told him, before looking back to the Pokemon who was standing proud again. She handed the Pokeball to Ryha as she returned the Pokemon, and they began back to the stage where a Table appeared holding the smaller gifts she had received, allowing the care taker to place it on the table before they stood back to their spots, while the larger gifts stood next to the table. "Thank you all for your time and attention. Those who had given gifts, we are more then thankful, and those who haven't, your presence is gift enough. We will now be servicing the Cake, for those who would enjoy Birthday Cake." Demetri announced and thanked. "My Lady Albert, these gifts are truly special. Everyone here is so enthralled by what you've done here in creating this atmosphere and it really shows. It's a pleasure as it always has been to be a part of such engagements. Thank you and happy birthday your grace," Rhya offered after Demetri's thanks to the public, smiling at his kind and fond words to those who were attending. "I appreciate your kind words, dear." she replied, gently patting Ryha's hand. "But your words are much to kind." she added, however, this was a serious statement rather then a compliment. She believed the girl was much to sweet and kind. She had known her from a little girl, and always thought she was to nice, but that was what she loved her for. gravity_resistant Elizabeth PlumElizabeth listened to Kathrine agree to tell her about all of the hidden beaches which was very exciting for the young woman. Though the catch was she'd have to fly them there. "Sure, I'll have to see if I can get a story out by tomorrow. If so, I could always come and get you." She offered, knowing her Pidgeot could fly so fast it would probably only be an hour or so to get to her. "But I'll have to make sure he's okay with it. He's only use to carrying me." She told her. Elizabeth could see that Kathrine clearly was petite and wouldn't weigh much, but it all depended on if her Pokemon were comfortable with it. That was very important to her. However, she did notice she seemed a little uneasy about teleporting back. "What's wrong with where you were before you got here?" Elizabeth asked her. She was curious to find out what was wrong. The girl was clearly put together, so she couldn't imagine it was dangerous. Either way, the conversation seemed to turn a bit as Kathrine caught onto her glance and was visibly upset by it, which was understandable since she was worried for her Pokemon. "No, no, no. There isn't anything going on." She tried to ease her, clearly seeing she was worried and upset. "It's just..." She began, glancing around with her eyes before stepping closer. "The man in the white suit" she spoke to her, nodding her head behind her in the direction of Marco Dirk without turning to look at him. Trying to be inconspicuous. "I've read about him. He makes his money on being a treasure hunter, and calls himself an archeologist. He steals artifacts and sells them to the highest bidder." She spoke quietly still. She took a breath before continuing. "He doesn't care what it is. But I've been keeping an eye on him, I don't think he did anything." She admitted. She genuinely didn't think he did anything since she had been watching him. She didn't think he really even notice Hoopa was there. But she was going to be careful with him.
After she commented, she heard Demetri's voice speak out to everyone. She liked him, she found him to be fairly honest when he spoke and met with the people. He announced they were going to open her gifts. "Oh! I definitely need a good shot of these." She exclaimed, whipping out her camera. "Do you want to get a closer look with me?" She asked, the young woman. Regardless if she followed, Elizabeth knew she needed to get a close shoot of these. She swiftly moved forward, and turned off the flash as to not anger the Archduchess, and stood at a good angle from the lifted area as they began to bring in the gifts. She couldn't help but let out an angry huff as the Abra teleported in with the box and vanished. But once the necklace was held up she took the picture. Next was a rug, took the picture, a few, getting a nice detailed shot. The a wardrobe, and then a display that she scoffed at. The Machamp was forced to walk in to deliver a gift. The Abras were one thing, they were at least doing what they did naturally, but forcing him to walk in like some preforming monkey... She snapped a few pictures of it before looking at the statue. The old woman wasn't pleased at all, it seemed nothing would please her. As extravagant gifts went on, she seemed to be unimpressed until the final gift. The Diamond Gigalithe. She couldn't help but let out a gasp as she looked out from behind her camera. It was a real Pokemon, not just a diamond, or a statue... It was a real solid diamond Pokemon. She hastily took a few pictures, but once it was returned, she lowered her camera and she was frowning. She took a few pictures of Demetri thanking everyone, and the royals talking. She began to look at her pictures as she shook her head in a disappointed manner.Katie learned and unlocked some of Marco's Bio

I just didn't know... I am not an experienced flyer, so I apologize if I said something rude." For all she knew, asking someone's Pokemon to fly more than one person at a time was an oversight of proper behavior. When Elziabeth asked why she didn't want to return to where she had been, she fell awkwardly silent for a few moments. Finally, she spoke. "Well... I have made a few enemies -" She began, hoping Elizabeth would assume she meant in her line of duty as a Ranger."- some of them are looking for me, and I think they may hae tracked me down to Hoenn. It's one of the reasons I was so keen to accept this invitation and get out of there." Hoping not to worry the other girl, she smiled reassuringly. "It's okay though, I can help people in any Region as a Ranger."
She turned a worried look to the crowd. It was easy enough to pick out the man she'd described. "He sounds more like a thief. Why would they invite someone like that? Aren't they worried he'll steal from them?" If that guy had anything to do with her missing Pokemon, she would make him pay. She was determined - never again was some guy going to take advantage of her. Someone announced that the Duchess was preparing to open presents, and Katie smiled brightly. "Come on!" She said, and moved along with the crowd to observe. She drew her bag closer to her, now that she knew there were light-fingered people about.
More of the cute little Abra appeared carrying the gifts, one at a time. "Oh I just love their little uniforms." She gushed, smiling and looking around for the Cutiefly. "Maybe we should make you an adorable little hat." She was being silly of course, the lack of conviction making it clear that she was kidding. While she watched, Elizabeth took photos of the gifts. Sure, the statue was nice... ish. The jewelry was positively screaming 'excessive wealth'. The wardrobe and hand-made rug were perhaps the most unique and thoughtful aside from the glittering and proud Pokemon. Tthat, she knew, had to be one-of-a-kind. It really was beautiful. "Whoa." She breathed, admiring it from afar. "Have you ever seen anything like that?"
Katie wished she had thought to bring a gift. Despite what they had been told by the man in the suit, she didn't feel her company could compete with or compare to the extravagant gifts (all of which had surely cost more than she'd ever seen in her lifetime). Elizabeth seemed slightly disappointed too, though Katie had a feeling it was something else in her case. "You seem disappointed. I'd have thought that would be a Journalist's dream come true there. Didn't you manage to get any good pictures?"
Meanwhile, Hoopa had returned from wherever he'd been just in time to see the presents being teleported in. Well, that was his schtick. Not to be outdone at his own game, Hoopa waited until the gifts were all opened and then floated forward above the crowd, clearing his throat. "Hoopa wants to give a present too!" He proclaimed, and both of his arms reached out wide as a pair of golden hoops expanded. One grew massive and floated over the gathered crowd, and a shower of confetti floated down on them. Apparently Hoopa had decided that the crowd should be a bit more involved in the festivities. The second ring, however, had deposited an intricate carved wooden box next to the Archduchess. If opened, a lovely tune would begin to play while a Gardevoir and Gallade circled one another within. Hoopa had hoarded many wonderful things over his life and some of them he liked to give away at times like this, hoping to impress. Katie hid her face in her hands, and what little she couldn't conceal was obviously red with embarrassment. "Guess we found him." She mumbled just loud enough for Elizabeth to hear.

Demetri made his way off unto the kitchen to help bring out the Birthday Cake, while The Archduchess watched judgingly. Once he was gone, she turned her attention back to the party goers with a sigh. "At least that charade is over and done with." She commented to Ryha, as she folded her hands in her lap. It wasn't very hard for her to miss the bright red hair of the girl who had walked up to them earlier. Her guards were keeping a close watch on all of those who had moved up and around to watch the gift opening. The Archduchess's face seemed completely unfazed by the girls poor attempts to greet her. She might have normally just given a snide remark, but she had been wowed for the first time in so long, she decided to let the girl find her way through her sentence. She got through her greeting, apologizing for it, before rambling on her thanks and how much she was enjoying the party. The usual groveling she was use to. Lucille had already tried that, however, the redhead continued on to compliment her looks. The Archduchess couldn't help but let out a sharp single laugh. "Dear girl, if you're going to throw words out, at least mean them." She commented almost in a joking fashion, rather then angrily. "No one has used 'pretty' to describe me in decades. Dresses sure, jewelry of course, but me dear..." She ended, looking the girl over, as if she were waiting for her to explain. She wasn't upset or angry by any means, she just knew she was much to old to be 'pretty' or 'beautiful.' This is exactly how she handled those groveling woman in the court. Those who mistakenly try to flatter her and butter her up usually gets it turned back on them. She was use to those trying to gain her favor to use her. "Wonderful isn't the word I would go for... " She replied as the girl continued to nervously babble on. She would refer to it more tiresome then anything else, but she didn't want to anger the guests to her party too much. "As long as someone is enjoying the party, then it wasn't all for not, I suppose. If these Public Balls continue then I don't see why you wouldn't be invited." The Archduchess commented, if the people were having fun, then maybe it wasn't exactly all for not. She didn't want to comment on having more of these Balls because she didn't want to be at her expense anymore. Had it gone alright, she was sure one of the other court members could host.
As she was ready to continue with the redhead, another voice spoke over the rest. It was a Pokemon announcing that it too had a gift to give. She hadn't exactly recognized the Pokemon, but he didn't calm her nerves any as a large ring began to appear. Her guards were reaching for their pokeballs ready to defend as a large amount of confetti dumped through the ring onto all those who were there to see the gifts. She didn't look very pleased by the gift, as the second ring opened and released a wooden box on the table next to her holding the rest of the gifts. She raised an eyebrow suspiciously at the small Pokemon, before gently picking it up and setting it in her lap to look at. She raised the lid as a tune began to play. She could see little wooden carvings of a Gallade and Gardevoir dancing to the music. She could only assume he had given her a jewelry box, but a rather nicely designed one. Much like rug from her son's business partner. This Pokemon didn't have any courtly obligation to her anything. "Thank you, What would I call you?" She asked the Pokemon. She didn't know every Pokemon's species or by name, she has advisers for that. "Thank you for your gift. I'll make sure it's cherished as long as it's with us.." She thanked. It was a very courtly answer, but a just one. It was a nice box, and there was a lot of detail to it. She might not have a use for it, but if she didn't she knew it was at least something she can pass down in the family.

Speaking of worrying things...The Sableye got Eve's attention immediately. She got up and tried to get as close as she reasonably could to Marco without climbing on him so she could get a closer look at the Ghost Pokemon. Her scaled tail swept across the floor as it wagged back and forth. The little Pokemon's eyes were made of shiny things and that fascinated her. Cyren called her back to his side before she could even think to try to touch the little Ghost. She pouted, settling down beside her Trainer and staring at the Sableye. If she misbehaved too much she would have to spend the rest of the time at the ball stuck in her Pokeball. She didn't want that at all. "Sorry about that. She seems to like your little friend." Cyren apologized for his excitable Noivern, hoping her need to get up close to study the Sableye hadn't bothered the little Pokemon any. It seemed like a sweet Pokemon. "I will never understand how some people can be afraid of Sableye. They are lovely Pokemon." The belief that a Sableye could steal the spirit of a person was entirely irrational to him.
When the crowd began to gather to watch the Archduchess receive her gifts Cyren considered remaining where he was. He wasn't particularly interested in the show. His Pokemon were however, which is what made him ultimately decide to join the rest of the crowd. "I suppose we should watch the show." Maybe they would see something interesting. He picked up his Machop, setting her on his shoulder so she could watch the the gifts being opened. His other shoulder was occupied by his Noivern's head once they had found a comfortable spot at the back of the crowd to watch from. She didn't understand the purpose of most of the gifts but she enjoyed watching all the same. Venus appeared to be bored- not that Cyren could blame her any. A necklace, a rug with a fascinating pattern, a wardrobe, a statue that felt entirely unnecessary, different furniture and jewelry...Aside from the rug nothing really stood out until the Gigalith. The shiny Pokemon was quite remarkable. Even Venus seemed awed by its appearance. "Isn't that pretty. I've never seen a Pokemon like that before." She commented to Eve, who hummed in response. Cyren's Kabuto was a strange color but he was nothing like that Shiny Gigalith. When the Pokemon was returned and things settled down, Cyren set Venus back down on the floor. She appreciated her Trainer letting her sit on his shoulder so she could watch the show but she didn't like being held for longer then necessary. She stretched herself out while Eve settled back down on the floor next to her. "That was fun." The Noivern wagged her tail a bit until she noticed Hoopa and- more importantly- the confetti. She let out an excited cry and played with any of the confetti that fell near or on her. Cyren couldn't readily identify the Pokemon that had been the source of the confetti but he was amused by it all the same. Out of their Pokeballs: Venus (Female Machop), Eve (Female Noivern)

Marcellus told them handing them the three cookies. Angelique raced forward and snatched a cookie and began munching on it, while Josette followed her, thanking him, while Novu plucked his out of Marcellus's hand and began to munch on his as well. With them happy, Marcellus was done with the food table. After a sip of his wine he began to step away from the table. Cronus had decided to ground himself for the ball, so he was talking along behind Marcellus as he heard a familiar thought. He didn't exactly have any boundary up around himself, just Marcellus. He assumed no one would try to get in his mind, and if they did it would be too complex or advanced for them to do any harm or pull information from. The thought was almost like a knock at a door, requesting entry before really communicating. He was able to figure out that it was Julian's Espeon relatively quickly. His Espeon was fairy harmless, and meant well, so he let her through. Marcellus paused when he heard her message, looking back to Cronus. He narrowed his eyes at the psychic type for a moment. He looked back out across the Ballroom to see Julian talking with a older woman, the same one he had saw her with earlier. With how he normally communicated, Marcellus could imagine how someone else would lose their temper, not so much the other way around. Marcellus couldn't figure why not, before he let out his Pokemon and tried to have a stare down with the old woman like how they met. XXXXXMarcellus took a step, and as he did, a male announced that it was time to open gifts. Liz was already up front, as two blondes there to watch soon after. That was a good way to meet up he thought. He turned to look at the Espeon, and gave her a nod, accepting the meet up when ever they were done with the woman. "I'm going to watch the gifts, but when ever he's done with that conversation, I don't mind." he thought back to her. Marcellus straighten his sheer cloak behind him as he began walking towards the stage. She was already holding out the necklace and commenting on heavy it was by the time he arrived at the stage. He didn't want to be up and too close physically with those already there, or for his shorter Pokemon to trip anyone so he kept his distance. Not to mention he had a sheer embroidered cloack trailing behind him that he didn't want stepped on. Next was a rug, followed by the wardrobe, then a rather nice looking statue. None of which really impressed the Archduchess. Marcellus found it odd that nothing really seemed to satisfy her, but until the final give, or what the Baron claimed was the last gift. It was a diamond Gigalith. Marcellus had to stop and take a moment to really take in it's grandeur. "Is it really solid diamond?" Marcellus quietly asked Cronus, which offered a nod. Marcellus found that very amazing and wowing. He looked at it shined. Even Marcellus would want to have a Pokemon like that. He wouldn't begin to know where to find a Pokemon like that. Soon after another Pokemon appeared and dumped confetti on them. It didn't bother Marcellus, it didn't excite him really, but it definitely excited Novu as he begin to hop around in it, while it seemed that none of the confetti seemed to fall on or touch Cronus. Shortly there after, he could hear and see Liz starting to address he Archduchess. He watched with wide eyes, and almost mortified as he listened to her speak. She was greeting all wrong, and she seemed to ramble on. He liked Liz but he was not about to jump in and save her while risk social suicide. In danger yes, social no. Elizabeth Morgan Today had gone from magnificent to horrible in about five seconds. Demetri hushed the redhead as she struggled to speak to the Archduchess, which only welled up the noises in her throat. The stunning display of extravagant gifts should have shut her up, prevented the mess of words from coming out altogether. Instead she stood dumbstruck until Adelaide spoke to her, blurting out her whole speech at once after the fact. Her cheeks were scarlet and tears already pricked at her eyes. She had come to this woman's birthday celebration and not once had it crossed her mind that she owed this woman a present! The horror was painfully real for this young lady. She was so distraught by this revelation that she could hardly process Adelaide's words. She could have argued her point in that case. Instead, she stammered over words and half-formed apologies. The Duchess was being nice--kind of--and Liz was mentally berating herself for failing to bring a gift. When Katie's Hoopa joined in the gift giving Liz's mouth fell open. That was the straw that broke the Camerupt's back. "'Scuseme!" She shouted out, fleeing the stage immediately after Adelaide had taken Hoopa's music box into her lap. Belle and Leah struggled to keep up with their trainer with the former shooting the Archduchess a nasty look before leaving. Nobody made her idiots cry but her! First she would make sure Liz was OK before she came back to show the Archduchess who the real royalty was here. Leah had to follow her nose, leaving Belle angrily waiting on more than one occasion. Tsareena's thin foot tapped impatiently, distracting the Absol until she barked at the moody fruit. The pair made a perfect beacon for anybody interested in following Liz. They spent as much time arguing as Leah spent trying to track the girl.
When she was located, she was on the ground with her bag in her lap, Nagi carefully gripping the side of her pack with his sash so she didn't accidentally throw him out with the other stuff. There was a mess of clothes and rations on the floor. "Come on...Come on! Where is it!" She growled to herself, pausing to smear her glove with eye shadow and tears. She wasn't even sure what she was looking for. She had to give this woman something! Her eyes fell on her Honedge more than once. She scoffed each time. Yes, running back to the Archduchess with a sword would work out. Still...she had no idea she was carrying a Pokemon with her, and she couldn't see why anyone wouldn't want such a pretty sword. The gem in the middle of the cross guard could hold her attention for a long time. But it belonged to that young man she'd found! Could she give that away? Liz remained helplessly searching her belongings, growing more hopeless on finding a suitable gift as she reached the bottom. She couldn't remember where she had put anything and some of the better choices were now among her gear. She lay her forehead against the lip of the bag and by Honedge, crying quietly into it. She had just wanted to enjoy a good party and--now--make up for such a ridiculous mistake as forgetting to bring a present. That shouldn't be so difficult! Yet here she was, hopelessly staring into the bottom of an empty backpack. Leah and Belle stared dumbfounded when they discovered their trainer in a mess of her own belongings. What exactly was she doing? Leah was worried, Belle was getting irritated. Princess and Spike were sitting on the ground watching the woman mournfully. rooker White Prince Of WonderlandRhyaThus far the ball was going about as well as planned, if not better in all honesty. The guests were engaging, not just entertaining in each other, but in the fact that they were attending for a celebration and a gathering that was meant to bring people together from all forms. Rhya had been tending to the archduchess as was her duty, making sure she ewas taken care of and handling anything she needed or needed done. Rhya spent a fair amount of time keeping up with the guards to check on attendance, how the food was being handled, the livleyhood of the guests, all in all just trying to make sure that everything was running as smoothly as possible. She was not alone in this venture though as her Audino, affectionately named Edwin, was tending to just about the same things that she was in aid. He ered more on the ways of tending to the archduchess' two Snubble and making sure they were taken care of, though if Rhya had to step away for a moment or two, he was just as well versed in aiding the archduchess as Rhya was since he had been her aid for many years now. The gifts were wonderful, and Rhya was pleased to see the guests so enthralled with how the celebration was going, but of course that had part to do with how engaging Demitri was and how he just had a way of getting everyone in a room involved with what was going on.
The gifts finished, and Rhya was taking care in making sure that everything was being placed properly so as to be collected once the ball had surmised, but Rhya looked up at the sound of a voice moving towards them to find a younger girl approaching the stage and not tripping over herself but tripping over her words in trying to speak to the archduchess. Rhya knew that the archduchess was not too ill manered when it came to meeting others for the first time, and she could tell that the atmosphere of the celebration did have her in higher spirits, but that didn't dismiss both the lack of ettiquette in the situataion at hand and how Rhya feared for the slight possibility of the public gaining a different opinion other than the archduchess' graciousness in having and hosting the ball. Rhya kept close then, listening to the girl stutter and nervously tumble over her words, wondering if there would be a moment to interject, but once the archduchess began to speak, she absolutely chose not to say a word. It was one thing to interject with a guest, but to interrupt the archduchess was another thing entirely that Rhya would never and has never done in her time being her aid. It seemed though that just as she could have fathomed, the Lady Albert felt gracious in this moment to offer a softer tone and even welcome the girl as a guest to the ball, and Rhya smiled fondly. However, a shower of confetti interrupted things and then a mystical pokemon appeared with a gift, and the girl ran off with a shout and a terribly distraught look that clearly showed that something had upset her greatly. Rhya's heart went out to her, for while it was her duty to aid and tend to the archduchess, it was in her better interest as well to maintain those around the archduchess to promote a well kept atmosphere.
"My Lady Albert, if you'll excuse me, I wish to tend to the young woman. In such a tizzy, she could hurt herself, I wouldn't want to see her come to any harm," Rhya requested with a gracious bow of her head.
"Edwin will tend to anything in my absence should you need aid. I will return in just a few moments," she offered with a nod to the Audino, and the normal type nodded in kind as he stepped forward in his vest and tie, ready to take Rhya's place for just the little bit she would be gone. Being graciously excused from the archduchess' side, Rhya moved effortlessly through the guests to follow the direction she had watched the girl move in, and took notice to the Absol she had seen not seconds ago moving in a specific direction. Making her way through the guests with ease to follow the dark type, Rhya was lead to the side ball room where the guest belongings were held and registered. Moving past the guards and through the entryway, Rhya found the red headed girl crying amidst a mess of discarded items, and was really unsure of what had happened. It was such a sudden change in her, was it maybe some sort of panic attack? If that was the case this needed to be handled as gently as she could. Rhya stopped short of approaching her first and instead took out a pokeball and released a small Shinx, one of her beloved Pokemon but also an emotional support animal in training. Feline Pokemon had such amazing capabilities in calming those around them, and young Berlios was no exception to that. She took him up in her arms for only a moment, patting him on the head as she pointed to the young woman.
"Gently now Berlios, remember your approach training," she urged in a whisper with a soft smile before setting him down, and he padded softly and quietly towards the girl before giving a soft cry in a gentle approach to gain her attention. He moved forward cautiously, sniffed at her arm first before nudging into her with his nose, and began to pur to calm her down from the tizzy she was in.
"Young lady, are you alright," Rhya asked then after a moment, soft in her tone and kind in her approach, though she did not move from where she stood to avoid possibly upsetting the girl further.

Elfy  Marco DirkMarco listened as Cyren explained he would probably do fine in a gym. That made him believe that he hadn't challenged a gym yet. He knew they were tough to beat so it made sense to be ready before going in. He hadn't really sat to watch any gym battles, but he had had to battle wild Pokemon before, and sometimes those could get a bit crazy depending on what you stumbled onto. He had only seen two of his Pokemon, but he was sure that Eve would do well in a battle, and he was sure if not now, his Machop could be a force to be reckoned with. However once Sableye was released, he was pulling most of the attention. Marco chuckled, he found Eve's curiosity fairly amusing. As she got closer, Sableye didn't move or flinch, his shiny gem eyes stared right back into hers, while he continued to smile back at her. He wasn't going to move if she reached for him, curious about her as much as she was him. But Cyren called her back, apologizing for her behavior, and saying she liked him. "Don't be sorry, she's just curious. Besides, I don't think she could harm what's already dead." He joked, as he reached up to rub the ghost's head, who was still hanging off of his shoulder. The ghost nuzzled his hand a bit, but remained unblinking. The male continued expressing he didn't understand why some people were so afraid. "I agree, I think he makes great company, and he's pretty sweet once you get past the smile and no blinking." He replied. Marco wasn't all that afraid of Sableye in the slightest, usually they kept to themselves. All he worried about was them eating or snacking on any gem or stone he might dig up. "However, I will admit, running into a group of wild sableye in caves can be a little creepy." He told him from experience. Even to him, that was a bit frightening, but he obviously made it out just fine. Like creepy crawlies in caves, if you leave them alone they'll leave you alone. But it did help to give them a peace offering snack, and a sableye on his side to mediate.
Before much of that conversation could continue, the Baron announced the party was going to be opening all the gifts. Cyren supposed they should watch the show along with his excited Pokemon. "Of course, these royals get extravagant gifts. It's always amazing to see." He agreed, walking with the trainer forward to get a better look. His Sableye moved from his shoulder, stood on him walking behind his head and began peeking over him, resting his ghostly head on Marco's hair, to get a better view. Marco watched closely, tying to watch for any artifacts or antiques he might recognize. He eyes the necklace, very expensive but new. Sableye's eyes gleamed as he eyed over the necklace hungrily before it disappeared. Soon a rug, nice but also new. A hand carved wardrobe, then a statue. Nothing really was catching his eye or interest. Maybe a few furniture pieces were antiqued, but nothing really as old as he usually looked for. Nothing really caught his eye as interesting, until the final gift. The Solid diamond Pokemon. Once it was released and stood proudly, shining in the light, he was speechless. His mouth fell open as he eyed the Pokemon. He silently reached up and plucked his Pokemon off his head, as if it were something usual he had to do. He held the ghost to his chest, who was now reaching forward and drooling as if he had seen the best meal in the world. He couldn't pull his eye away from it until the Archduchess returned it. He watched as it disappeared, only to reappear with the rest of the gifts on the table. That Pokemon probably cost millions, maybe even billions being solid diamonds... He would never have to work again. He was lost in thought staring at the diamond covered Pokeball until he felt the confetti fall on him. He shook his head as he looked around confused, confetti wasn't usually a formal event thing. He looked up to see Hoopa was the cause of it. Marco's eyes widened as he spotted the legendary, not only that, not too far away a very strangely dressed male with a Bulbasaur, two smoochum, and a Mewtwo. This was quite an interesting guest list. "Oooh, I think this Ball just got quite a bit more interesting." He commented, turning back to Cyren. "Those were some interesting gifts, huh?" He questioned Cyren, and looked to Eve who was excitedly looking around the confetti. Marco will remember that.

I just have to make sure he's okay with carrying two people." She replied. She didn't want Kathrine to worry about that. If pidgeot agreed, there would be no problem to carry her. She continued on about how she had made enemies. Elizabeth understood that all too well, once she would write a story about someone, negatively, they turned against her. She didn't want to press the topic any further, clearly seeing she was upset about the topic. She was such a sweet girl, The reporter couldn't imagine who would make an enemy of her. Kathrine was quick to find who she was talking about, and called him a thief. "I agree." she commented. She asked why they would invite him, which made her ponder, as she looked back to him and then to the young woman. "Well, I looked at the invitation list, and I don't remember seeing his name on it. But it was a long list so I might have over looked it.." She stated with a shrug. It made Elizabeth a little uncomfortable too knowing he was there, but she had kept an eye on him since she noticed he was present at the ball.
Kathrine began to muse about the little outfits that the Abra were wearing, and offered that her Cutiefly could have a hat like it. She was joking clearly, but Elizabeth forced a smile. "Maybe, if he wanted one I could make one for him. It would be cute." She replied, looking to her little Pokemon and rubbed his head with a finger, as he fluttered about. "I never have seen a Pokemon like that. I've read stories about a crystal onix, but some believe that to be a hoax. He was just amazing." She replied. It was true, that Pokemon was very beautiful and amazing. However, Kathrine was quick to catch up on her less then happy expression. She offered a smile before speaking. "Oh I got amazing pictures of him. I'll have proof he's real and just as amazing as I'll describe." She told her, knowing she would be the first and maybe only to get up close pictures of the Diamond Pokemon. "It's just... I don't like seeing the Abra being forced to wear those uniforms, and teleporting people, things, and anything around liek a servant. They should be resting and sleeping like they naturally would." Elizabeth stated. She understood the idea of training, sure someone might have an Abra as a trainer, but it wouldn't be on call to teleport anything they wanted all the time, or forced to wear a silly outfit, no matter how cute. It just bothered her a bit.
Shortly there after, confetti was soon dumped on the crowd. She looked up at Hoop who dispensed the confetti and smiled. She then began to snap a few pictures of Hoopa and the rings as the confetti fell through and a box came out of the other. She snapped a picture of the Archduchess receiving the gift as well as the crowd of guests and Pokemon reacting to the confetti. She couldn't help but laugh lightly as she looked up to it, her Cutiefly fluttering and humming happily through out it. "We definitely did find him" Elizabeth laughed again. It was touching to see the Archduchess accepted the gift surprisingly gracefully. "That went by smoother then I thought it would." She admitted looking to Kathrine, expecting the Archduchess to be mad about it.

Elizabeth Morgan Liz was surprisingly quiet for the way she felt, it was a testament to Rhya's observation skills to know the redhead was doing anything other than staring into an empty bag. Liz, on the other hand, was not quite so aware of her surroundings. Her first reaction to Berlios' cry was to snap her head up. She had her hand on her Honedge before she stopped to process the sounds around her. "Oh my God!" She released the sword Pokemon and threw her bag--much to the sword's chagrin--to show she meant no harm. The little Shinx's soft voice and gentle purring made her smile even though she felt bad for having an aggressive reaction. "I'm so sorry! You all must think I'm an asshole." She wiped her eyes with her glove again, forcing a laugh through an involuntary sob. She definitely had been stupid just now. She hadn't even argued Adelaide's criticism of being called pretty. She would have to fix that later. A woman like her would never lose her poise. She let out a frustrated huff, tangling her fingers in Berlios' fur and rubbing his back while she lazily tossed a pair of shorts back at her bag. "I, uhh...I forgot." She admitted coyly, avoiding eye contact with Rhya and Berlios. "I got invited to this party and I didn't even bring a present. That's not right." She stated, more conviction than ever in those three words. She made a frustrated sound while Belle maintained an aggressive posture. The Tsareena was not having fun here. Too many people thought they could just do what they wanted. Especially with her human. Leah gave Berlios one quick sniff before backing away. Better him than her, really. Liz was a physical and affectionate animal and the Absol had to confess she didn't love it. Maybe someday, but certainly not right now. Liz's lips twisted up while she glanced up at Rhya. "No use bringing one now, I guess. I don't even have anything." She had the TM Roost. Falkner had given her that. Was it OK to give away Gym TMs like that? What would the Archduchess do with a bird move? She had Snubbulls. Stupid. She began to gather up her belongings and stuff them carelessly into her backpack. Even if Liz possessed some organizational skill, her pack was far too small to put everything together the way it needed to be.
She didn't ask for help while she gathered her things, putting it all in without much care toward how it all fit in there. The only things she was careful with were some Berries she had. Those were important to her. She had learned a lot about her plant and Berry care from her father. She smiled apologetically as though she were inconveniencing Rhya with the work she was doing. "I'm really sorry. I was just trying to talk to the Duchess and let her know how much this kind of thing means to me. And...then the presents came out. And that Pokemon gave her one...I panicked." She frowned again, remembering that she was still without a gift for the Archduchess. "I guess I don't really belong at pretty balls though. I'm a working kind of girl. I gotta be able to do stuff for myself." She spoke her mind and didn't think about how she might sound like she was belittling a noble's position. Liz did respect the Archduchess. There were some things nobles and governors had to do that Liz just couldn't. Like letting some situations happen. All of Liz's things were put away save for one disc that had escaped her notice. Assuming Rhya had been watching she would be able to recognize the pink color of a Fairy Type TM. Something Liz had already put one of into her pack. She didn't seem to notice she was missing something as she gazed into the mess of things with her Honedge pressed up against the side. She had Nagi in her peripheral vision, making the sword stay extra still while his gem eye stared back at her. "Does she...like swords?" Liz had no idea she had a Pokemon in her possession, but she was still hesitant to suggest Nagi be taken by the Archduchess. "I got it from someone a little while ago. But I don't think I can take care of it." She smiled to herself, nodding finally. "Even if it just gets kept in a box, I think it might be better with you guys." She sounded like she knew she was talking about a Pokemon. While she was contemplating how to best present her poor Honedge to the Archduchess, Liz tugged a handkerchief out of her pack and picked out a handful of Berries to add. "I dunno if she likes Berries, but I saw that garden outside. Berry Trees can be really pretty. And they can do all sorts of nice things for Pokemon." She tied off the fabric and tested it before grinning. A sword and some Berries would do it. Berries could grow almost anywhere, but Liz was set on picking out ones she believed were more common in Johto than anywhere. She had included an old Blue Apricorn among her things that she had failed to recognize as the foundation of Johto's famous hand-crafted Pokeballs. She was only concerned with showing the Archduchess things Johto could bring her now. Nice little nothings that only a farmer would really find valuable. "Yeah. This should do it! It doesn't have to be fancy jewels, right?" Liz was excited now. She had figured out a simple plan. For now, however, he had plenty to keep him occupied. The food he had passed, for example, looked quite good and he was hoping to make a quick stop by the table after this meeting. Fortunately he was saved the trouble of standing here arguing with Estelle by an announcement from a well-dressed man. Apparently the Woman who this event was dedicated to was about to open some gifts. "Excuse me." He thought to the woman and then made his way into the crowd. He was glad to have the Eeveelutions with him at times like this, to help him avoid any awkward stares or questions. He found Liz at the front of the crowd by her vivid red hair. Rather than approaching her, he hung back and made a plan to catch back up with her after the gifts were opened.
Espeon let Julian know that, once the gifts were finished, Marcellus was also willing to meet up with him again. Julian filed that note in his mind for later and watched as the first Abra appeared with the first present. One by one, gifts were given that had no impact whatsoever on the Archduchess. He couldn't blame her, they weren't very impressive - that is, until the diamond Pokemon was revealed. Now that sort of rare and unusual Pokemon was exactly his taste. He had come across a story about a crystal Onix in Johto, but this was real. This was right in front of his face. He thought of how nice it would be to have one and considered asking Demetri where he might come across one for himself. That could wait until later.
After the Hoopa's interruption, and the crowd dispersing around him (which concealed Liz's flight), he was considering approaching the woman and offering the rare hand-crafted cane that had so much historical significance to the Johto Region. It wasn't that this was the most valuable item he owned, but it was certainly the most beautiful and significant. Giving her a Pokemon obviously wouldn't work - nothing could top that Gigalith and the wealthy could simply buy any Pokemon they wanted. gravity_resistant Estelle "Stella" Eleanore Crawford The older woman listened as he started to back track and take away what she had just complimented his Espeon for. She had originally believed his Espeon was fairly smart, and had very strong abilities allowing her both to read both of their minds to communicate. Even out right complimenting his Espeon, which only seemed to rattle him up even more, which confused the older woman even more. But the teenager was remaining calm and cordial. "So, you're telling me, it's actually quite simple for her." She asked him as he simplified her abilities and accomplishments. Had she done that with her own Pokemon, she'd never hear the end of it. Regardless of what he said, she still believed his Espeon was a clever and smart Pokemon, both of which had a very nice and healthy looking coat of fur. She watched him take another breath, she couldn't help but wonder why his temper was being so worked up, especially with her complimenting his Pokemon. Growing teenage boys and their anger she guessed. It didn't exactly bother her really. What she was interested in was if his Espeon could really put the music into his head or not. If they hadn't before, she would be very excited to be there if he were experiencing music for the first time. She would of course have to change the song for him, so he didn't hear this music. But she was soon met with silence. She blinked while she waited for answer, she then looked down to Espeon then back to the Teenager and nothing. The Baron started an announcement, and the young male quickly excused himself as he and his Pokemon quickly left. "I suppose a struck a cord." She shrugged as she listened to the announcement.
It was the gifts. Estelle stood up from her chair and slowly made her way a bit more forward so she could see the gifts. She brought her red wine with her as she watched. The retired opera singer was a bit more impressed with some of the gifts than the Archduchess. The gifts were fairly extravagant, the necklace, rug, wardrobe and even the statue. The retired opera singer was a bit annoyed with the statue as well, but it was still drenched in wealth. The following gifts were furniture and jewelry, The Singer had given her a ring as a present as well, which didn't impress the old woman any. That didn't surprise Estelle. But what really did was when the Diamond Pokemon was let out. She almost dropped her glass in awe, but she didn't. This was something she had never seen before. It was very shocking to her. "Dear me," She commented clutching her pearl necklace. It was surprising to say the least, but once it was returned things calmed down. There was a shower of confetti by a Pokemon she didn't recognize causing her to back up to stay out of the confetti so it didn't get in her hair. She began to walk about now, trying to stretch her legs now that she had been siting for a little bit.

 Lucille Natasha PevenseyIt would seem she had decided to come back into the ball room just at the right time. The Baron had announced it was time for the gifts. She drifted forwards like the rest of the party goers, which she couldn't blame them. Even she wanted to see the gifts, but she didn't like how crowded it felt to her, which just meant people were too close for her liking. But she watched as she idly fanned herself. The gifts from the court members were what she would have expected, and the rug was okay, but it sure was ugly. Lucille didn't quite understand what made the Archduchess like the weird wardrobe that she'll never use or that ugly rug the wouldn't have used either. The jewelry might have looked nice to, but she definitely couldn't pull them off at her age. They would look good on someone much younger, like herself. The Blonde had a hard time picking what to get her. What do you get an old woman that doesn't like anything. Her gift came later, designer pearl necklace with earrings and a bracelet. It was very expensive. She had stepped forward as did a perfect curtsy when it was her gift, however the Archduchess wasn't impressed or say any words just a nod to her. It greatly frustrated her, but she nodded in return and gave her a sweet smile in return. However, the final gift official gift was definitely a show stopper. The Diamond Gigalith was breath taking. "Oh my god." She whispered as she closed her fan to look at the Pokemon. That was shocking to say the least. It was beautiful, but again she didn't think the Archduchess deserved it. She would never use it even to show off with. Lucille how ever could. Even the Pokeball was her style, covered in diamonds. With that it was over, as a red head in a cheap dress spoke to her very poorly. She couldn't help but smirk behind her fan, until confetti filled the air above them. She looked up and saw it was the little Hoopa she had run into earlier. She smiled happily as the confetti rained down on everyone, knowing the little legendary was behind it, however she fanned herself strongly enough so that the confetti wouldn't exactly land on her nicely made up face or hair. She thought she might hang around the stage just in case she got another good show like the one with the redhead. |

Taking the Machop's utter lack of a sense of humor into consideration, Eve turned her back to Venus with the Noivern equivalent of a small "hmph!" and began making her way up closer to the stage. She made sure she kept a safe distance from it, not wanting to get in trouble with the humans already there. So long as she didn't get into trouble Cyren would let her do whatever she wanted. Her Trainer was nice. She found a comfy spot to sit down, her tail sweeping back and forth across the floor behind her. There was always a chance there would be more fun gifts or pretty Pokemon to see. Maybe there would be something shiny or some flowers! rookerRhyaDespite the otherwise erratic reaction that the young woman had to Berlios' approach, the Shinx held fast in where he stood, careful not to likewise make any sudden movements as was part of his approach training. A subject of emotional stress could exhibit sudden and even sometimes violent reaction, and that was something he was being trained for early on. He didn't move, though the fur on his back bristled only slightly at being startled because of the situation at hand, but in a matter of seconds with a few exasperated words, he was doing his job in letting her pet and stroke his fur while he continued to purr. Rhya, proud of how Berlios was handling the situation, was a little taken aback as to how the young woman was handling the situation. She was a bit frantic, and perhaps scatterbrained was being just a bit rude, but it seemed that she was already coming to a sort of calm as she begrudgingly began to put things back into the bag from the items that were scattered all over the floor. At first Rhya wasn't quite sure what to say, but she kept her demeanor soft and calm as the woman went on. She was this distraught over having no gift for the archduchess, and seemed to be quite upset at not having anything that would "suffice".
"Now now, you've misunderstood the meaning of the Lady Albert's purpose," Rhya said after a moment, smiling fondly though at the young lady's attempt despite the lack of anything in her bag.
"Her grace opened this celebration to the public not in a show of power or presentation, but to allow those of the region and beyond to share in her family's great influence and reach out to those whom do not have this opportunity," she explained softly and gently, trying to take away from the notion that this was a birthday party which per normal custom did most of the time ask guests to bring a gift. However it didn't seem that her words seemed to do much in dismissing the thought that this young woman needed to present something to the archduchess. Instead it seemed that she was settled on gifting a Pokemon to her confusion, and a clutch of berries. The woman was standing now, and Rhya moved forward to meet her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder in a show of tenderness and understanding.
"I don't believe a box is a suitable place for a sword such as this," Rhya commented then, trying to ease her.
"Your presence is gift enough to the archduchess Adelaide, you and all of the other trainers and travelers that left everything that they were doing to attend this engagement. Your willingness to participate and your gracious reinforcement that this was a positive idea is above and beyond what we could have asked for. No material gift is more powerful in saying that you're elated to be here than your presence itself, we are truly humbled to know that the people cared so much to make her grace's public engagement even more wonderful than we could have imagined," Rhya went on then, stepping back only a pace to curtsy and bow her head to the young lady whom had shown such passion in wanting to attend.
"Now, this is no place to enjoy the celebration. Please, gather the rest of your things and don't trouble yourself over a gift for her grace. Returning to the ballroom and enjoying yourself is the greatest gift you can give to the entire family," she finished, gesturing first to the pink disc that Berlios had picked up off of the floor in his mouth and wanting the young woman to leave her belongings in the room where they would be safe. When she was ready, Rhya was prepared to escort her back to the main common space to continue to enjoy the festivities.

Katie didn't have it in her to scold him, not when he already looked so sad. "It's okay, Hoopa. Not everyone likes confetti." She explained, hoping to simplify what had happened in a way he could move past it quickly. "Did you find any yummy food?" She asked him. That seemed to take his mind off of it for the time being, and he nodded eagerly. "We're going to go get a bite to eat, can I bring you back anything?" She asked Elizabeth. With or without the woman's order, they excused themselves for a moment and made their way through the dispersing crowd. She was not the only person in a hurry though... the lady who had been tending after the Archduchess also hurried from the area. "Wonder what she could be up to..." Katie muttered, but Hoopa grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her along impatiently. "Alright, alright." She said, smiling at the over-eager Pokemon. "I'm coming." And she put the woman out of her mind.

Elfy Marco DirkCyren seemed to agree with him about how interesting the gifts were, at least... The Gigalith. It was a very unique and probably priceless for anyone who didn't just have millions to spare. He would love to have a Pokemon like that, he could retire and be set for life with it. Too bad it was in the hands of royalty. The taller male asked a pretty good question, where did it come from. He shifted his stance as he pondered, that had him pretty curious as well. "That's a very good question. Being solid diamond I'm sure it lived and came from some where very deep underground." Marco answered still thinking about where in the world it could have come from, but he hadn't the slightest idea. Diamonds could come from any where really if you dig deep enough. "Who knows where they could have found it, but I would like to know." He half joked. He was curious if there had either been more hidden there or if there were even just diamonds around it's home. But knowing how ordinary Diamonds were formed that posed another question in his mind. "I wonder how old that Gigalith is." He asked curiously. It was in his line of work to figure out how old something was. If it was an artifact he could usually figure it out just by looking at it, but that made him wonder about this Pokemon. As he thought, he left the confetti in his hair, not really bothered by it. He had let his Sableye go, now that he wasn't worried about him trying to sample the Diamond Pokemon. The ghost scurried back up to his shoulders, and stood behind him and began to pluck the confetti from his hair, inspecting the shiny plastic as he did. "I would imagine so, It looked like a one of a kind Pokemon, and worth millions. It definitely caught my attention" he replied with a grin. Shortly there after they had more confetti rain down on them from the Noivern. This caught his Sableye's attention for he had been collecting the confetti he could reach on Marco. His shiny eyes watched as they fell again, plucking as many as he could from the air as he could. Marco was amused, and his Sabeye curious, but Cyren's Machop clearly wasn't Marco couldn't help but chuckle along with Cyren, seeing the Noivern with such personality was amusing to him. His ghost, looking at his collection of confetti then back to the two new Pokemon, leaned around Marco and mimicked the Noivern but on a much smaller scale. Returning the favor, tossing the collection he had down onto Eva and Venus, watching them both now with his gleaming eyes and smile. "Your Noivern has a pretty big personality. You might have your hands full as she grows." Marco smiled again, which he didn't mean it in a negative way, he was greatly enjoying her display of joy and curiosity. But as she grew older he might have a harder time holding her attention if she didn't calm down.(Sorry again for the delay, I'm trying to keep up and make sure I reply in under a day for your convenience.)

She commented on looking at the guest list and informing the guards. The older woman nodded. "You can look it up through your Pokedex I think. I got mine in the mail, and I left it at home." Elizabeth explained why she couldn't pull it up to check again for herself, not being a trainer she didn't have a Pokedex registered in her name. It was a long list anyways, so it might be easier to check on a Pokedex. "But it is a public event, so I don't know if the guards would do anything anyways." She told her, unsure if they would actually through him out of an event that was suppose to be public. She didn't know the trainers here, so they might have heard about it and just showed up too. She shrugged. Kathrine seemed to be fairly excited about hearing about the crystal onix, exclaiming it must have been worth millions. Elizabeth forced another smile, and just nodded to her. Kathrine was a ranger, she was a good person so Elizabeth knew she didn't mean any by it or didn't understand what she said. But the idea of putting a price on the head of a Pokemon made her uneasy. Hoopa was proud of his gift, and the Archduchess enjoying it, which Elizabeth believed he should be. That was very thoughtful of him, but his joy faded after another guest ran away upset, and embarrassed. Elizabeth hopped she wasn't upset about not giving a gift, she hadn't given one, she couldn't afford the royal's tastes. But she couldn't do much about it really now. Hoopa floated back down disappointed, while Kathrine explained why he shouldn't have released the confetti. Elizabeth loved it, but she could see why it might upset some other guests. Before she could say anymore they began off to get food, offering her some. "Oh, no thank you. I'm not very hungry." She told her. She could see they were hurrying off, so she waved giving them a smile. "It was nice to meet you and Hoopa," she offered them as they left, not saying bye because she assumed she would see her again before the night was over.

Coconut replaces the smell of the bar, and I don't know if it's her or the rum. ♪ It wasn't an explanation as to why he shouldn't have done it, more an explanation as to why someone may have taken it badly. Hoopa hadn't really done anything wrong and Katie wasn't trying to punish him in the slightest. She just wanted to get his mind off of the ordeal altogether. It made her feel bad to see him so upset. She decided not to look up the guest list in the Pokedex, preferring instead to devote her attention to the party and to cheering up her Pokemon. "We'll catch back up later!" She told Elizabeth as they moved along towards the tables of food.
Hoopa did brighten a little when they reached the food table, and told her what was the 'yummiest ever!' and which things he didn't care for. Apparently they had similar tastes, because the food items he suggested she did enjoy. Unfortunately she couldn't quite 'put it away' like Hoopa could. First and foremost, she didn't want to pop right out of her dress. She didn't want to make a fool of herself in front of royalty either, though. That played a part in it as well.
She smiled at him before finishing the last bite of her food. Once that was done, she glanced around looking to find the thief and make sure he was well away from her and from the gift table. "That really was a pretty gift." She said to Hoopa, and he looked up surprised. "Where did you ever get such a pretty thing?" Hoopa seemed to think about it. "Hoopa has lots of things." He said. She thought she knew what he meant - that he'd stashed away so many things that he couldn't remember where each one came from.
