While he didn't have anything near a tuxedo, which he hated due to how out of place he would look now, he still would head off to the Ball in Anistar city, using the teleport provided in the pokedex message. Of course, once arriving there everyone else is properly dressed in typical tuxedos or in some cases, ranger uniforms. "Oh pecha berries I look so out of place right now" he thinks looking all around the area, at least he did keep the outfit he was in neat and in order though he still expected people to just laugh him out of the ballroom given the social faux pas. The two pokemon that are currently with him, Chansey and Marill are on either side of him and just not really caring about his style of dress. The blue mouse just happy that he even chose to attend this event at all given his usual shyness, "We needed something to take our minds off of that don't you think Audrey?"

The Chansey on Andys right side would nod, "Yes we did, I'm glad that it did seem to bring him out of his shell a bit more."

"I guess it did but there are going to be lasting effects as a result. I just hope none of them are too serious,"/ she frowns but quickly turns that back into a light smile. It may not look on Andy if either of the pokemon were frowning right now, though that wouldn't be Andys doing.

Given his outfit would the Archduchess even see him? Clearly showing up in his rainbow of colors would appear as if he was from parents with no sense of manners or from a 'backwoods' area. "Oh well, lets try and enjoy ourselves shall we?" he now quietly says to both Audrey and Aqua.

Though just as he is getting ready to head deeper into the room, a tall, older man would grab his attention, "Hello, are you Andy Richter?" he plainly asks

"Yes sir I am."

"Can you come with me please?"

Andy nods and follows the man, who looks maybe to be a butler of the estate. The four of them heading back to the entrance of the Orient Hotel where another man would be present holding a pokeball.

"Andy Richter?" the one holding the ball says

"That would be me sir"

"It seems your parents got you two gifts for the day of the ball"

"A gift? Thank you sir"

"No problem, enjoy the ball." both men head off leaving a rather perplexed Andy.

"What would be in here?" he then tosses the ball to the ground having it open up and reveal a Slowking holding a tuxedo and a soothe bell.

"Hello Andy" the pokemon giving a little bow after he says this, "They wanted to give you this outfit for the ball and for me to be with you, maybe your dad wants you to always have him around so to speak?"

Andy facepalms and laughs, "Yep, thats dad alright, they both would do something like that. But really thanks for the tuxedo" Andy heading into the men's bathroom to change into the tux before heading out back to the ballroom again.

"They actually left you a third gift as well but I have no idea where that Rotom could have wondered off to."

Still mildly concerned about the presence that she was certain she felt and the shift it made in the ballroom, Rhienne tried to keep her focus on Ridley and their conversation. It wouldn't do any good to draw attention to herself, whatever it was. This was a quiet party, she didn't want to start anything and she certainly didn't feel like confrontation. If she could just play it cool and lay low, make sure that she kept her distance from whatever it was, then she felt that she would be better off than going out in search of it. However, she felt Absolem shift in the forefront of her mind, and in that moment the Mismagius was hardly a concern of his. There was something much more powerful among them now, and it seemed that it sought them out as he felt contact made with his own abilities. Absolem knew when he was matched, he didn't fight the intrusion that came towards them, but that gave him all the insight he needed to know just what it was that had caused such a disturbance. It wasn't so much the now Mewtwo that he had been made aware of, but the human that it traveled with, that was the force that Rhienne had reacted to.
"It seems our two humans have some sort of sense about each other. I understand your intent in wanting to keep your human in your best interests, just as I share the same notion for mine," Absolem began, reaching out to the psychic type that had made contact with him. There was little indication of what the Mewtwo was actually doing, but Absolem could make the educated guess that the Mewtwo was only surveying the area to make sure that nothing would come to harm his human, as Absolem did the same thing constantly when he kept himself at the forefront of Rhienne's mind. It was a protective and precautionary measure that proved to be effective and useful, and his involvement was merited in times like these.
"I believe it would be in both of our best interest and that of our humans to maintain distance. There's little reason for them to interact and nothing that either of them need to be concerned with," Absolem offered, merely as a way to say that they won't bother the Mewtwo if they don't bother them, and that should be that. Absolem wasn't going to pick a fight with the psychic, though he could tell the Mewtwo was intelligent enough just from their very brief convergence that something so trivial wouldn't necessarily become triggering, but the last thing Absolem wanted to do was cause a scene between two very much opposing forces. Rhienne was none the wiser to the power construct that was occuring on a mental level between the two psychic types, instead she remained where she was with Ridley and found herself drawn back into the conversation despite Absolem's shift before.
Needless to say, Rhienne was a bit offput by how disinterested Ridley was in a powerful spirit like Amarie. Sure, she knew it was how she herself was raised with her mother, developing a deep respect for spirits and otherwise early on because of thier knowledge and place in the world, but still, well beyond how she was treating a Pokemon, Rhienne couldn't ever fathom treating a spirit like Amarie the way that Ridley was.
"I think your grandma might have made a good choice, she's probably a much more powerful spirit than you give her credit for, you might thank her and your grandma for that one day," Rhienne offered in a bit of disbelief that Ridley really felt the way that she did, there was definitely a bit of animosity on Ridley's part, and she couldn't imagine that it was really because of anything that the Mismagius really did. However, the Mismagius seemed to be eyeing Rhienne again in the same fashion that she had before when her energy shifted so drastically before, and while Rhienne could imagine that the spirit could tell far more than she herself would let on, Rhienne wasn't about to admit to the whole ballroom that she was magically inclined.
"No, actually it's not. My mother and I study the afterlife and other entities from the worlds beyond ours, not just Pokemon. You could say our interests include many things that aren't so tangible to this physical world," Rhienne confirmed in answer to Amarie's question, remaining nonchalant and level in her demeanor. She knew that it would be far worse to dismiss the ghost's question than to answer with something that was actually true, but Ridley went on despite Amarie's inquiries.
"No, not by looking at them. I'm not psychic or anything like that, but being raised around supernatural Pokemon, I can feel their energies. I can feel their psychic power and know that they have great control over that special part of themselves," Rhienne answered in kind to Ridley's question, continuing her compliment on their training together, adjusting her glasses on the bridge of her nose.

Standing off to the side, more so in a way of trying to distance himself from the convergance of Aviabra's and Delphine's energies that was almost akin to taking espresso shots in a much less physical sense, Wattson remained with the Jynx that he now found himself in conversation with, but could tell he might have said something wrong. It was commonplace for them on his team to not necessarily think of Aviabra as dangerous, but when she couldn't contain herself and couldn't control her power or mentality, it became aparent and sometimes there were consequences, it was just something he had grown used to.
"Apologies for that, I wasn't trying to be demeaning. I just know from experience that for some dual types, not all, it can be difficult to cope with certain powers and abilities. I'm sure that she's done well to balance her fire powers with her psychic capabilities," Wattson tried to say, and really he was speaking from the heart and from experience, and not just from Aviabra that he had been around for so long now. Even pure psychic types, like his dear Midori, sometimes the power itself just became too much for them to handle and it was difficult for them to deal with. He wasn't sure really how psychic types of all types did it, he was actually impressed by most of them on a regular basis, especially being far from a psychic type himself.
"That's way cool! But haven't you learned how to use your psychic powers? Teleporting is so worth it, you can go where ever you want, and it's way easier than using tokens... That doesn't sound fun...," Aviabra went on, though her fascination with the stick that Delphine had never seized as she touched it and watched it, pushing it down some and then watching it hover over the ground, that was actually something she legitimately wished she had something to do with.
"I can't teach you, but it sounds like you need someone to teach you how to use your psychic powers. I'm still learning, but Rhienne is a good teacher, or maybe she could teach you, she's a psychic type too," Aviabra offered, but then did point to Jessica in a manner that kind of insinuated that she was confused as to why the Jynx hadn't been teaching her already? That was stuff she needed to learn, it was important, and it was a lot easier with help. Aviabra stopped though, her hand still on Delphine's staff when they mentioned the fight on in the city in Alola... They were there too??
"Woah, that's crazy, we were totally there too! They attacked the city like aliens, and one of them actually grabbed Rhienne and threw her! And then we went to this crazy big jungle to fight these giant hulking bug things, and then we were on this giant canyon with these huge ones that were gonna sink the whole island if we let them,"

"Were you guys there too too? Cause you know we need to stick together to be ready just in case something like that happens again. You guys seem tough," the Medicham continued, definitely solidifying the fact now that they were friends.[/font][/div]

Rhya and her Shinx were doing wonders for Liz's mood. Berlios was such a sweet little thing, she hadn't even realized he was actively trying to calm her. Liz couldn't help herself once she had decided on the gifts she had for the Duchess. "Not a chance! A Duchess celebrating her birthday is still a birthday girl! I might be stupid enough to forget a gift, but there's no way I'm letting someone go without one. It isn't right." She sucks air through her teeth before she tugs the ribbon out of her hair. Tying that to the sack of berries makes it look properly gift wrapped while the redhead's long hair sways and flows without the restraint now. She looked down from her gift when Rhya brought her attention to Berlios with the Dazzling Gleam TM clutched in his mouth. "Oh! Thank y--waitasec." She blinked, passing the Berries for Leah to hold in her mouth now. She would have given them to Belle, but the Tsareena looked ready to kick the bag out of her hand if Liz so much as turned her way. She found the pocket she had managed to stuff her TMs and blinked owlishly. "That can't be mine. Why would I have...two...?" Her face paled slightly and she shook her head. "I can't believe I got two and didn't even notice! I thought those were really expensive!" She assumed that TMs were just ridiculously pricey--which they were--but now she believed that some of that cost came from buying two of Dazzling Gleam by accident instead of just one. She grinned as that led to an even better idea. She gingerly took the disc from Berlios, patting his head. Leah was instructed to hold still and the redhead carefully tucked the item beneath the ribbon. "There! Snubbull are Fairies, right? I forget. I swore they were always just Normal Pokemon when I was little. And kinda goofy-lookin'." She smiled to herself anyway, patting her Absol's head and gesturing for the Dark Type to follow her while Liz decided to stash her bag and bring her Honedge along clutched in her hands. "Thank you! You guys were a great help. And now I have something to give to your boss. I think you earned a day off! Or...more money...How does working for a Duchess work?" Liz had been enthusiastic in her attempt to praise Rhya and make the age old "take the rest of the day" joke, but now she wasn't really sure how it translated to caregivers of noblewomen.

"It's really great, what you're trying to do here. I'm so glad you, or Demetri, or whoever it is that decided all this, decided to invite somebody like me." Liz smiled warmly at the caretaker, bowing her head in thanks. Nagi rested quietly in Liz's grasp, sweating bullets when he realized that Rhya knew exactly what kind of "sword" she was looking at. Why did Liz have to be in Kalos of all places?! As always, Liz's sword Pokemon was desperately begging in his mind not to be outed. Nobody knew Liz was afraid of Ghosts here, or that she didn't realize she was carrying a Honedge with her. Every second here was another chance for someone to inadvertently ruin what he had made with this young woman. He didn't like pretending to be a normal sword, but he was more uneasy about letting Liz discover the truth of his nature. Dratini, at least, proved that she was making progress. Liz tapped the pommel of Honedge against her chin with a thoughtful frown. "Am I gonna get attacked, though? Running at your Duchess with a sword, I mean." She was, for once, considering consequences to her actions. Rushing the podium with her Honedge would not look very friendly. Especially after embarrassing herself like that. While she still had Rhya, she could always work out how to present a weapon without a misunderstanding. "How would you want to get one of these? It's not exactly a safe thing to run around with." Maybe with some help from Rhya Liz could do this without getting thrown into jail. That would definitely be a plus for the Johto native.

((Don't worry about Liz trying to give away Nagi, she won't succeed. She thinks she only has a sword. Elfy has agreed to help with the part of preventing Liz from actually transferring ownership to the Archduchess. Don't worry about stopping her unless that is absolutely something your character would do.)

The girl continued on to explain her and her mother studied the after life, and other things that were supernatural. Ridley continued to toy with her hair as she thought about what she had said. It made sense why she was wearing black, sounded to her that she was a Gothic, gloom and doom kine of girl. "Sounds creepy." Ridley chimed in. It was more of a statement then a judgement, Ridley was only scared when she was in serious danger, after traveling around with Amma and defeating Darkrai, she wasn't scared of any ghosts. "But I bet you were never bored." She continued. Her father owned a hotel chain, so while her life was wealthy, it was just a normal life. There were no ghost hunts or seances. The blonde couldn't decide if it was something she was impressed with or weirded out with. She knew ghosts were real, hell she knew the undead were real. But either the girl and her mother were running around with ghost trackers and cameras or they actually studied some cool and creepy stuff. She'd have to figure that out before she decided if she liked it or not. It was hard to tell with a Lucario and Medicham by her side. They weren't common but they didn't scream supernatural either. Amma however knew exactly what she was from her response, raising what would be an eyebrow at the girl. That confirmed to her that she was indeed a witch, as was her mother she could assume. Every thing began to click with her Pokemon's strong psychic barrier protecting her, her energy, as well as the realistic looking ears which the ghost now knew were actually real, glancing up to them then back to the girl. She remained silent as she casted a knowing look to the girl.

Ridley had no idea what was going on, Amma being out of her line of sight. Otherwise she would have questioned the look. She listened to the explanation of how she was able to tell about strong psychics, and it was interesting to Ridley. She looked to her Pokemon for a moment while she listened then back to her. That began to make her thing that the girl was actually legit with what she was saying. She was raised around ghosts and what not, so she appeared to know what she was talking about. "Huh, That sounds handy." She told her thinking about it. So that was how she knew Amma was a strong ghost. That meant she could feel when a strong ghost or psychic type were around, or tell if they were by being around them. Granted it might be to late if they were that close but it was a good thing to have under your belt. It probably would have helped her out a hundred times over in Darkrai's tower or the Ballroom. "So it's kind of like a Lucario's thing, but not." She purposed as she thought trying to understand exactly how it worked. "Can you feel people's energies too, since you studied stuff that wasn't Pokemon?" She asked. The teenager had her attention, it was interesting to her now. Was the girl able to feel her own energy, as well as everyone else's in the room, or was it just psychic energies she could read. Shortly there after they announced the gift opening part of the evening. The blonde had no interest in joining the crowds of people wanting to watch them open, which she could see from here. It seemed pretty common for a rich bitch to get, especially an old lady rich bitch. Gaudy jewelry, furniture... Ridley found it pretty boring, so she was only half paying attention. The Diamond Pokemon was pretty jarring and cool. Ridley would want it just to say she had it. But once it was gone, everything returned back to normal. There was a drop in confetti, which made her glad she wasn't in the crowd as she turned her attention back to the teenager.

Jessica could easily see that the Lucario didn't mean anything by it. They had just traveled and been through to much together already that it bothered her that someone might think she was dangerous. However, she understood that she was trying to say her powers could be dangerous if left unchecked, and that could go for any psychic type or fire type. "You don't need to apologize. I know you didn't mean anything." She explained to him, glancing back to Delphine who was now levitating her staff. "She controls what abilities she has alright. The only time she loses control is if she's startled. Other then that, she's always been the energetic one on the team, I suppose she's learned to handle it." The sultry Jynx explained in her somber voice, looking towards him form under her long eyelashes. Delphine grinned proudly as her new friend liked her floating staff. She toyed with it, but her grin was quickly wiped away as Aviabra asked if she had learned her psychic powers. "I mean.... No..." She replied in a disappointed voice. "All I can do is talk, make my staff float, and move stuff... There's no way I could teleport" She explained. While she was able to talk as a Braixen, her real abilities didn't appear until she evolved into a Delphox, which was still recent enough for her. She still didn't understand all of her abilities or true strength yet. Aviabra offered to have Rhienne teach her, and purposed Jessica teach her. "It would be so cool to have a psychic teacher. That would be fun." she replied grinning again, thinking about getting trained by someone who new how to teach this stuff. She could only imagine all the things she could do if she was taught. "Ummm... I think her psychic powers are different. Mine comes from my staff and hers comes from... Like her body I think? She has to move or touch them, so I don't think she could teach me." Delphine answered the best she knew how. She always thought Jessica's abilities were kind of funny. She noticed that her walking usually was in pattered and pace with the Jynx's and she usually had to wave her arms or kiss the opponent to use her powers. Delphine didn't want to go around kissing people or swinging her hips like that. "But if you can teleport, you can teleport the both of us right?" She told her, knowing that it had to be better the Amma's form of travel.
But their conversation was getting more exciting as they realized they fought the same things. The Delphox clasped her paws on her face as her mouth fell open as she explained that Rhienne was the girl that was thrown. "Dude! I saw that! I thought she died!" She exclaimed, having seen the girl with dark hair get flung. They never got to see her land so they had assumed the worst. "Yeah, one of those nil-eggos hit us like a truck and nearly knocked us all out at once! But we went to the city instead of the jungle, which we were basically alone by the way, and fought a giant alien building... Which that was really weird." She explained talking quicker as she went, her excitement building. "That's so weird... But so cool! No wonder they say it's a small world!" She exclaimed. "Yeah we were. Ridley wanted us to leave because it was really dangerous, but we stayed and fought the fat thing and the rocket. But I get why we didn't see each other. After the cave in it was all dusty and I was flying around on my staff and throwing fire." She explained nodding, tapping the staff still in aviabra's hands causing it lower and raise again. "We do need to stick together. We are so tough. We've battled lots of stuff before. But you look really tough to." she complimented her new best friend back.

Cyren was just as interested in the Gigalith's age. Diamonds took a long time to form so it stood to reason that the Gigalith might be a very old Pokemon. How long could a Gigalith live for if that was the case? The more he considered the oddity that was a diamond Gigalith, the more questions he had. Pondering the Gigalith's origins was amusing but he assumed it was rather pointless in the long run. He was sure the Pokemon would have the answer to some of their questions but it wasn't like they could ask any of them. Even if they could they wouldn't be able to understand it. "It's unfortunate we can't speak to the Gigalith. If there were a way to understand it I'm sure it would be a fascinating conversation." He commented as he knelt down beside Venus, helping his Machop clear the confetti off of herself. She appeared just as annoyed by Sableye's antics as she had been Eve's. The Noivern, on the other hand, couldn't have looked more pleased. She sat back on her hind legs and clapped her wings together, pleased by the Sableye's display. At least he knew how to have fun! She grinned as best a Noivern could and hummed, letting herself drop back down into a more comfortable position. Cyren smiled at his Noivern and shrugged. "The challenge will make it more fun. A bit calmer would be nice but I hope she keeps that personality as she grows." Eve was a troublesome little thing and her hatred for Wimpods was concerning but he was sure she was a good Noivern. A bit loud and more than a bit silly, but a good girl none the less. He would still have to work on that hatred of Wimpods and confirm it wasn't a hatred for anything that resembled a Bug though. She hadn't met his Kabuto or Ledyba yet and he would prefer it if the three of them could get along. "She'll keep me busy, that's for sure." Cyren had his work cut out for him with the excited young Noivern and the visually impaired Kabuto on his team but he was happy to have them. Eve had settled back down, laying against the floor with her head resting on her wings. She was still focused on the stage, convinced something would happen if she continued to watch it.

It was something to ponder. Even for the adventurer, that was something amazing to him. Just how old could it be, diamonds usually took a very long time to form deep in the earth. It was exciting to him to imagine just how long it had been around, what had it seen? If there were more, or at least it would know where other diamonds formed as well. Cyren was right, it was very unfortunate that they weren't able to communicate with it. "That is true. I don't have anything that could communicate like that," He spoke as he looked over to the Sableye hanging on his shoulder then back to Cyren without stopping. "But If we could get close enough to it, I'm sure we could figure out some way to talk to it." He finished, then looking to the table of gifts that were on the stage. He would just love to have the Pokemon with him for multiple reasons, but asking it questions would definitely be the first thing he did. His Sableye hadn't met his gaze, however he was still looking down at the Machop. He hadn't quit understand the notion or game the Noivern had been playing with the Machop by sprinkling the confetti on her, but it was monkey see monkey do. While the Machop clearly did not like it, Eve did, and that's who he was watching. His toothy grin remained on his face as he turned his head from Venus to Eve, which he almost looked proud now as his eyes gleamed at Eve as she smiled the best she could. He almost wished he had more confetti to get the positive reaction and attention he had already received. He decided she was interesting, so he began to climb down Marco's leather bag's straps, pulling it off of his shoulder. The bag and ghost fell to the ground, the ghost seemed to disappear into the ground into a little round shadow, leaving behind three gems. While his bag fell open, as a few papers fell out and the sound of metal on the tile. Marco's expression changed to one of panic and anger as he went to the floor and began to quickly gather what looked like coins and other small objects into his bag, as well as shuffled the paper. He looked around to see who would have seen what fell out of his bag, but seemingly didn't care if Cyren noticed. "You need to be more careful, Sableye." Marco scolded the ghost in a stern voice. The ghost reformed and looked up at him, and then turned to move towards the lounging Noivern, unconcerned with what he just caused. He look to the dragon, and held out is hand full of confetti again as if he were offering it to her. "Friend?" He spoke to her in a small hissing voice, while the voice definitely sounded like it came from a creepy crawly in a cave, it was a friendly one.

Marco let out a breath as he latched his bag shut again, looking to Cyren. His upset and stern expression leaving, seeing that nothing had broken. "As you can tell, some don't calm down." He tried to joke, and make light of what just happened. "But I'm sure if treated and trained right, She'll be happy and keep her curious and eccentric personality." He told him. Marco could see that she definitely would be a handful in an environment that wasn't as calm as the ballroom. "I think you're right about that one." He chuckled, agreeing that she would keep him busy. He was sure that around Eve he never would be bored. "But hey, it looks like you Machop is calm and well behaved too, so it all balances out right?" He offered not wanting to leave her out as well. She had been fairly calm through out the Ball so far, even after Sableye seemed to unintentionally tease her. She deserved some praise too, he believed.

Over all, Rhya was pleased that she had been able to calm the woman whom had left the ballroom in such a frenzied tizzy, and it seemed that already her mood was lifted and improved exponentially, but she still seemed a bit frazzled and all over the place, unless that was truly her own personality trait. Rhya chose not to comment on something so self deprivating as the woman calling herself 'stupid' for forgetting a gift that was by no means a requirement, and didn't find time to interject any commentary while she went on about the disc that Berlios had made sure she picked up from the ground. She went on about the archduchess' two Snubbull, wanting to give them the disc in being fairy types, but finally it seemed that she had become ready to leave the storage room. Rhya made sure to pick Berlios up from the ground, and the Shinx made himself comfortable in her arms while she started to lead the way with the woman still clutching the rather worried looking 'sword', commending her for her work and help in the situation at hand.
"Your thanks is benefit enough for coming to aid you in a time of strife. I don't take payment or compensated work in being the archduchess' aid, this is what I was raised for and my chosen path. Her grace's generosity and the boundless opportunities that she has presented to me is what I've found to be most rewarding in my time with her. My work is much more meaningful than any monetary value to be given," Rhya commented in return, otherwise dismissing the need to commend her work for any kind of raise or time away. She was very happy and content with her position with the archduchess, there was no need for her to say otherwise. Beginning to head out of the storage room off to the side, Rhya listened as she walked quietly beside the woman, speaking then of how great the opportunity like this was for all those who were involved. However, again, there was that self deprivating commentary that slightly confused her, she wasn't sure why this young woman felt that she was so much of an "other" or a "them".
"This opportunity was something that we've discussed as a whole for the royal family, and we were elated to have it come to fruition. However, there was no question in inviting someone like you. There was no wrong group or individual unfit to be here as a public engagement, in fact, if there were more attendants like you then this would be an even more joyous and important celebration," Rhya commented after a moment, hardly sure of what the girl meant by secluding herself into some non existant category, but there was no such thing as someone who didn't belong to this their first public engagement for the royal family. Soon though she switched commentary towards her offering of a gift, and it seemed that she really had her heart set on presenting the archduchess with a Honedge.
"Well, I wouldn't suggest running in any sense, you should remain calm when holding something so delicate and sharp," she tried to caution, really not sure if the woman was being serious or not about running towards her grace as they walked through the ballroom now, moving through the crowd back towards the stage at the front.
"Her grace has been presented with many antiques and artifacts given Kalos' history, it is not something that she would be unfamiliar with, but I really believe you might reconsider presenting her with something like this. This sword is much too special to give away," she continued, not quite aware of how to tell the woman that this wasn't just a sword, though she seemed pretty convinced that it was nothing more. It confused Rhya why the Honedge was remaining so sedentary to make the woman believe she were holding just a sword as well, the situation was peculiar but she couldn't think of how to proceed with breaking through the facade.

XXXXXWhile Marcellus spoke with Julian, Cronus was left to his own devices. He looked about the party, however mentally he was busy. While browsing the mind of the young woman, he did have to poke a hole in the shield that was protecting her. But he was met with no resistance. Whom ever created the barrier were either aware they were being outmatched, or oblivious to his intrusion. Which, considering he hadn't done anything to cloak his mind, he assumed it was smart enough. After having found out Rhienne was no real threat to their group, maybe Marcellus's temper, but she was no evil force as far as he could tell. If anything she seemed to have a mystical energy about her, but he didn't spent enough time to really try and figure anything out. She had something interesting about her, and he might return later, but first he wanted to make his rounds of the room first. Just as he was about to move on, a voice spoke to him. It was the voice that had created them barrier around the girl. He seemed to have noticed Marcellus and himself as well. It was obvious the voice had belonged to a strong Psychic Pokemon, and it wasn't hard to figure out it belonged to an Alakazam. He felt the same energy through Rhienne as he did through Marcellus, as well as noticed his intrusion. "They do seem to have an aversion to each other." Cronus agreed psychically. The Alakazam seemed to be making a truce of some sort, making Cronus believe there were no hard feelings for his intrusion, or the attempts to keep him out. It was clear to Cronus and went without saying that the Psychic was just protecting his trainer, but he understood the sentiment. "It's clear you and your trainer experienced hardships, therefore I understand the precautions." Cronus replied, meaning the Alakazam didn't need to express what he did. He had let him in, surely because he knew Cronus was stronger, but also to prove there was nothing to hide. "I didn't look any deeper then necessary, if you or your trainer finds any solace in that." He explained in case the female was worried about his intrusion, seeing the worry clear on her. Now, Cronus didn't lower his own barrier around Marcellus's mind, but he was curious if the Alakazam would or could get past to get a look as well. Had he attempted, Cronus wouldn't actively try to stop him, he just wanted to see if the Pokemon was strong enough to. The fellow psychic continued to explain that they had no business interacting with each other, which it was obvious it wouldn't end well if they did, given Marcellus's demeanor and temperament. "I agree, I have no interest in any interactions. Physically at least." He spoke, clarifying at the end considering he was already psychically interact with the Alakazam. While testing the Psychic's abilities or maybe just seeing them would be very interesting to him, however this was not the time nor place. "I do not control Marcellus. However, from his reaction to just being in the same room as her, I estimate he will attempt to keep his distance." He explained to the Alakazam. He couldn't and wouldn't make any promises he wouldn't keep. He has known to enter an argument or fight when challenged, but if they agree to keep a distance, it shouldn't be a problem.

Estelle had enjoyed the sight of the gifts, they definitely were a spectacle to be seen. Even the confetti drop from the strange Pokemon. It would seem that the royal family had spared no expense in entertainment. If only she could have proven what real music sounded like. Though with this younger crowd, like the teenager with the seemingly short attention span, probably wouldn't appreciate it. Either way, she was admittedly in a better mood now that she had been entertained. She wasn't in a bad mood before, she just hadn't enjoyed the party that had been thrown. It was extravagant, there just wasn't good music in her book, or enough socializing for her tastes. It was a bore, but she was in awe at least. She continued to mill about the ball room to see if she recognized anyone, which she didn't really. No one but the royal family of course. She was now carrying an empty wine glass, which was nothing to her, she just enjoyed the taste. She walked to the food table and set the glass down. She looked to the waiter near the food table. "Where might I find the Lady's room?" She questioned, the staff member explained where it was, and she was off and out the doors and into the foyer. It seemed that the wine had run right through her.

Lucille had gotten what she wanted, she had seen a good view of not only the redhead that fled the stage after embarrassing herself, she got a nice view of most everyone else. She knew most everyone else who were invited here that weren't trainers. Most at least. So she wanted to get a view on who she could at least mingle with. The girl with the interesting Pokemon was one on her mind, she had been right, and glad she was kind to the little Pokemon. It did have some form of skill with it's abilities after seeing the confetti and music box. She also had a few others in sight she might want to meet just to see who they were. She had a few guests in mind that she was ready to go meet, but before she decide to check her make up and hair. She had gone outside, so maybe the breeze or the mist form the fountain might have messed up her make up or hair, so she began to make her way out of the room. She was going to head to the bathroom to use the mirror. She fanned herself as she made her way through the doors and out into the foyer.

While Demitri was always the more sociable and charming of the two of them as they worked together in maintaining the social front of the family's ventures, Rhya was always happy when she could assist more than just the archduchess herself. The aide adored her position and was really very fond of her grace, there was nothing in her life that she could imagine doing differently, but when it came to small instances such as this, being able to help a guest whom had gone into such a tizzy and bring them back to enjoying the festivities, Rhya enjoyed her life choices all the more. There was no telling if each and every guest was enjoying themselves at the ball they had opened to the public here, but if she could help just one guest at a time, then she felt like she was doing the very best that she could.
The young woman she had escorted back into the main of the ballroom had fallen just a bit behind, but Rhya made a small parting comment before moving back towards the stage with Berlios in arm, coming to meet Edwin who offered her his hand to help her up the short way to the stage.
"Thank you your grace for allowing me that time. I trust Edwin was taking care of things," Rhya offered with a bow of her head as she handed off Berlios to Edwin who took the small electric type in his arms.

As Ryha approached the stage, The Archduchess was idly listening to the near by conversations as guests seemed to linger it after the gifts. The royal woman didn't mind, at least she could hear the conversations now instead of just watching people talk and listening to the dreadful music her grandson thought she would enjoy. Of course, the live musicians were playing rather well, she was just tired of the same old songs that were always played. Standing on her right, Demetri had returned and taken his place back on the lifted area. He was beaming as he looked out over the party that be believed was a success. While behind him against the wall was a tall male a part of her guards. On her left was an Audino who was standing in Rhya's place while she was gone. Behind him was the other guard, as well as further to the Archduchess' left was the table the many gifts were sitting. A familiar face approached the lifted area, Rhya the Archduchess' caretaker. She thanked Lady Adelaide for her free time away from the stage and commented that she believed her Audino took good care of her while Rhya was away. Not much time had really passed while she was gone, so there wasn't much for him to have really done. Her eyes flicked to Edwin and back to the caretaker. "He was a peach." The Archduchess replied calmly. With her usual stern and dry tone some might have believed the statement to be sarcastic, but her grandson and Rhya knew that the Archduchess enjoyed being around the Audino as much as she did her own Snubbull. While Rhya handed off her shinx to the Audino, Lady Adelaide spotted another familiar face and bright red hair making her way towards the stage after Rhya. She wished the girl would just go off and enjoy the party after her emotional depart from her presence, but she could see the girl was holding something, so maybe she was offering something to her. She knew better then to turn a guest away, especially one bearing gifts. "What might you have there, Child?" She asked, she hadn't yet introduce herself yet to the Archduchess so it wasn't out right calling Liz a child, it was just a term to address the trainer. The royal leaned forward to try and see better what the girl had been holding, if she hadn't known better she would have thought it was a sword.

Before the girl would make it to the stage and address the Archduchess, the lights above began to rapidly flicker with a loud hum. After a few seconds of this there was a small distant explosion as the lights all went out. The room was now completely pitch black. There were a few frightening shrieks who were surprised at the sudden darkness, as the room fell silent as the band quit playing. "What are you doing? Get the lights back on!" Demanded the Archduchess in the pitch black, her voice was even more stern then before only now she was serious adding much more intimidation to the woman's strong voice. There was what could be the sound of running foot steps on the stage as Lady Adelaide's two Snubbull began to bark and snarl. There was a quick flash of light but to quick to see anything, if anything it further blinded those in the room that saw it. There was even more movement heard on the stage as suddenly a woman let out a loud scream within the darkness, followed by the sounds of a struggle. The struggle continued as there was another flash of light, then a crashing sound accompanied by the yelps of the two Snubbull. There were the sound of running food steps again while the struggling got quieter but the room remained pitch black.

Things to know!

The next update will happen 12 AM CDT August 8th. This is one of the few times in this event were we have a deadline for those participating and request something of you in those posts, like stated in the event voting pros and cons. If everyone posts before August 8th, I will post the next update sooner.
What is the deadline? We ask that you make at least one post by 12 AM August 8th. Like stated in the Pros and Cons, if you don't post by then, the event and NPCs will assume your characters and Pokemon stood perfectly still and did nothing, and they will act as such. This we can't undo because of the nature of this event. If your character doesn't make a choice (just like not selecting an action in the Telltale games, or other like games this event is inspired by) in time, nothing will happen for them, and this is a very important part of the event. Which is why we ask that you post even if it is a quick one.
What do we request of you? I just ask that you be overtly clear as to where your characters and Pokemon are in the Ballroom, and the actions they take. Where they move, and what actions they take, if they do at all. I'm not asking for a long post or you do anything more detailed then you normally would, I just want it to be very clear for me and everyone else where they are and what they do in the dark, so Paradisity and I don't make any mistakes moving forward.
If you need any assistance about the ballroom, I can try and make an image of sorts, like a map or blue print, to keep everyone on the same page. Just request one in the event's Interest Thread if you think it's needed.
That request aside, do what ever would come natural to your character. It is choice driven after all, so what ever you think they authentically would do then go for it!

Liz was so comfortable in her own self-deprecation that she was genuinely confused when Rhya stressed "like you" multiple times. It was not something that she lingered on for long, enjoying the kind words and reassurance. "I really am grateful. To all of you. This is such a wonderful place and I'm happy to be a part of your list." No slaps to her own face this time. Liz was taking the positive reinforcement to heart. Rhya's compliments and reassurances finally got the better of the young woman and she trailed off on herself quietly relishing the idea that the Archduchess considered her "short list" material. Still not the way any of it had worked, but Rhya had her thinking that way anyway. In her little fantasy of being able to rub elbows with royals, Liz completely missed Rhya's parting remark and took a long few moments to realize she had been left. The redhead blinked after her daydream ended and looked around. "Huh? Rhya? Berli--Oh!" In spite of falling behind she had managed to at least meander forward and was approaching the stage when she had returned to her senses. Honedge was now sweating bullets silently whining Oh crap! Oh crap! Oh crap! to himself as they approached the one person he wasn't sure he could trust to keep his secret. "What might you have there, Child?" The Duchess' voice chased away what remained of Liz's mental misadventure and she stood up straight and proud this time. She should have buckled under that stern gaze like before, but between Rhya's encouragement and Liz's own inability to prepare--or scare--herself leading up to this, she defaulted to one thing she knew she could fake. Look tough and size right up to the thing scaring the crap out of her! "Your Grace! I--" She didn't get to present Nagi, or the TM, or even her Berries. The lights flickered and drew her attention upward. "Did a Pikachu get in?" She wondered absently before the explosion alerted her to the idea something was wrong. Very, very wrong. Honedge believed the same thing, wrapping his sash around his owner's forearm and sliding out of his sheath. Liz was so shocked by the darkness and screaming that she had no problem believing she had somehow reacted without realizing it. Weird, considering this was her first time holding a sword with the intent to use it.

The screaming had Liz's Pokemon all on edge with Belle poised to kick any idiot shapes that came her way! Leah rushed to put herself between Liz and the stage in hopes of intercepting any enemies. Spike fired a single Poison Sting dart into the darkness in his panic hoping to hit whatever was scuffling on the stage. Princess was just as stressed as the regular people, the Salandit whimpering and scrambling toward Liz helplessly. Liz dropped Honedge's sheath and knelt down to comfort her Pokemon. "Leah, thank you. Can you see anyone? Princess? Princess! Try and make some light!" She was patting her Salandit when genius struck her. Kind of. Princess was equal parts distressed and uncertain how well she could light the room. So she did the only thing that made sense to her. The Salandit belched her small flames which made a couple of flickers in the dark before she caught part of the stage on fire. It could only be hoped that the materials weren't quite flammable enough to light up the rest of the space with a bonfire! She was trying to help the Archduchess, not the bad guys!

Julian's psychic-type Pokemon could have no hope of matching the pure telepathic power of the Alakazam and Mewtwo. In fact, Espeon had literally no idea that such interactions were taking place. It took much of her focus to keep Julian in touch with the unfolding events. He liked to know where people were, and what they were doing. Espeon was too proud to admit that her skills weren't yet developed enough for scoping out an entire room. So she didn't. She'd decided that as far as he needed to know, everything was happy-go-lucky all around... until the lights suddenly went out. Julian, robbed now of a second sense, froze on the spot like a statue. Even after all this time, the sudden power outages still birthed a panic in his chest and made his stomach tighten like a knot.

"Liz, are you alright?" He asked when he finally mastered his own breathing. .He squinted uselessly into the darkness. He knew that Marcellus was fine - Cronus would not allow anything to mess with him. That being said, Julian also knew he couldn't likely count on the legendary to intervene on anyone else's behalf. "Come towards Umbreon's light." With that taken care of, he decided to send their resident White Prince a message. "Do you or Cronus know what's going on? With all these gifts and royals, I don't believe this is just an innocent power outage." He looked down at Umbreon. The light was useful, but didn't light up anything further than a few feet around him. He'd be lit up like a beacon to the rest of the crowd but he could not see anyone else well.

Well, that was when Julian came up with a... well, an idea. He wasn't sure if it was a good or bad one yet, but it was an idea! Using Espeon to make sure the area around them was clear of anyone who might accidentally get trampled by the sudden appearance of an oversized Pokemon, he fished around in his pocket for a Pokeball. When he released the Pokemon inside, Zekrom was at a loss to understand why they were standing in the dark. He did what came naturally, which was to start the turbine-like function and create brilliant light. By then, it seemed whatever had happened on stage was over. Even Julian, whose eyes had improved in lack of his hearing, had to let his eyes adjust for a bit before he could see anything. Fortunately the Legendary was not in the mood for a rage or rampage, because Julian had still not figured out what had caused those in the first place and therefore had no idea how to stop them. "

Grovyle and Aipom returned not long after she had parted ways with the infamous food tables. Aipom was glad not to be sent back out, but Scout was not at all happy about having been sent out for nothing in the first place. With Hoopa's return, he felt Katie should have come to find them and let them know. So, he went quiet and became quite grumpy. "I'll make it up to you later." She said, and returned the Grovyle to his Pokeball. That left Aipom and a still-missing Rowlet outside of their Pokeballs. She didn't like the idea of one of her Pokemon still being missing, realizing that she should have gone to look for Hoopa by herself in the first place, but she would have something else to worry about as the lights cut out completely.

Okay, so Katie may or may not have been one of the people who shouted out in surprise as the lights went out. In her defense, Aipom stopped right in front of her and she tripped over him, landing hard on one of her elbows. Fortunately she did prevent her face from hitting against the ground in the dark. Pushing herself into a kneeling position, she rubbed her throbbing elbow. At this rate she would injure every body part she possessed by the end of the week. She felt Aipom touch her leg, to get his bearings so as to climb up to her shoulder. She knew he felt bad about causing her to trip, and she didn't blame him. "It's alright." She told him.

None of Katie's Pokemon - short from Rowlet who was currently sleeping off those berries in the garden - were equipped for seeing in the dark. Nor were they designed for producing light, like some of the Pokemon in the crowd. In fact, she spotted an Umbreon begin to glow almost instantly. Shame it only lit up the outline of the boy it was with and nothing outside of it's radius. Especially because the sounds coming from the stage seemed to indicate an attack. She, the Ranger, was forced to kneel there uselessly. Well, she could thank Arceus that her dress hadn't been tight around her legs or it would surely have ripped... not that she could count out damage to the dress entirely just yet.

"Hoopa not like this!" He shouted over the crowd's hysterics, sounding quite close to Katie's side. Well, at least she knew he was safe. Safe... oh no. Was the Archduchess safe? Were her gifts safe? She didn't like to think of just what trouble was going to be revealed when the lights came... speak of the devil. There was suddenly a bright light. She thought for a moment they had restored power, but that wasn't right. The light hadn't started out bright, but had grown to brilliance.

Cyren Braithwaite

Cyren winced when Marco's bag fell, the sound it made leading him to believe something might have broken. That wouldn't have been good. Fortunately it appeared that the Sableye hadn't caused too much damage. Cyren didn't put too much thought into Marco's reaction to the bag opening when it fell. To him it was perfectly reasonable to be bothered by the thought that something might have been damaged. He shrugged, watching the Sableye as he made his way over to Eve. "At least he didn't break anything. No obstacle is great enough to keep them from having their fun." He chuckled as he turned his attention back to Marco. He looked down at his Machop before kneeling down to pat her head. Venus had been on her best behavior, thankfully. One active Pokemon was enough to deal with. "Venus helps keep the others in line. My team seems to have put her in the leader role. She's very good at it." Venus looked up at her Trainer and Marco, trying to keep her expression neutral. She shrugged before looking to Eve and Sableye, a small but proud smile on her face. She was happy with the praise but she didn't want to let it go to her head. She still had an oversized lizard to babysit and she couldn't let herself be distracted. The Noivern raised her head up off of her wings, smiling at the Sableye and the confetti in his hand while her tail swept across the floor behind her in an excited wag. "Friend!" She replied happily, not at all bothered by the creepy quality to his voice. She had just started to raise herself back up off of the ground when the lights went out. Between the sudden darkness and the distant explosion the Noivern was thoroughly startled. Her confused cry joined the few frightened shrieks. She had known if she watched the stage something interesting would happen but this was not at all what she had expected! The Noivern's confused cries turned into sounds of discomfort when she was blinded by the flash. She felt around on the ground in front of her, trying to find the Sableye so she could hide him in her wings. She had no idea what was going on but she needed to try to protect the little Ghost!

Cyren remained calm despite the sudden darkness and the distant explosion. Panicking wouldn't help anything. He picked up his Machop, letting her cling to him while he followed the cries of his Noivern. Making sure his Pokemon were okay was his first priority. "Shhh. Easy, Eve." He whispered to her as he approached her, not wanting to further upset the Dragon by not warning her of his approach. That would be a good way to get himself bitten. "Easy." He hushed her when he was close enough, petting her head gently while she buried her face against his chest. Her eyes hurt and she was confused! She just wanted to be petted until the scary things stopped! "It's okay." He reassured her, lightly scratching behind her big ears. Had Rhea been with him he would have asked his Litten to provide him with whatever light she could manage. Instead he had for someone else to solve the issue of the darkness for him. The issue seemed to be solved by a large Pokemon. "That's something you don't see every day." Cyren commented on the Zekrom when his eyes adjusted to the light again, glancing down at the ground near his Noivern to check for the Sableye. Now that he could see he wanted to make sure both Noivern and Sableye were okay. Eve's need to watch the stage had placed them worryingly close to it during the chaos. He needed to make sure they Pokemon hadn't been hurt by whatever had just happened or the small flames now covering part of the stage. "That's probably a problem." Now was as good a time as any to find out if Eve would try to bite Yami. He set Venus down, holding his now free arm out in front of him and releasing his Kabuto on to it. Yami latched down immediately, digging his legs into Cyren's skin. If Cyren was at all uncomfortable he didn't show it. He slowly positioned his arm, careful not to disturb the anxious Kabuto more than necessary. "Yami, Scald. Straight ahead." The Kabuto adjusted himself, lifting himself up just enough to avoid hurting his Trainer when he unleashed a burst of hot water on to the burning portions of the stage. He settled back down as soon as the fire was out. Cyren carefully picked the Kabuto off of his arm, letting him grip on to his shoulder instead. When Eve could finally bring herself to look up from her Trainer's chest she took to staring at the Kabuto. Her attention remained on him for all of five seconds, his strange coloring momentarily fascinating her before she grew bored of him. Cyren sighed in relief when she didn't attack the Kabuto and chose instead to wander over to the large Pokemon that was keeping the ballroom lit instead. "Thank you for being a giant lamp!" She raised herself up on to her back legs and waved her wings at the Zekrom. If nobody else was going to thank him for being a light source then she would do it!

XXXXXMarcellus felt a little embarrassed as he explained it to Julian, how he hadn't actually followed after Liz when she ran. He did like her and consider her a friend, but following after her and associating himself with her in front of the royals didn't make sense to him at the time, he would have felt even more embarrassed. But after having to express it out loud, he did feel a bit bad about it. He was glad he had shifted the conversation to Espeon, however he was met with silence after asking about her. That was another time where Julian had ignored him. While, it could have easily been a mistake on his espeon's part since he had never experienced her abilities before. But to him, it wasn't that easy, He would rather believe Julian was ignoring him again. He was really starting to be annoyed by getting ignored, but before he could try and ask again, Liz reappeared following a bit after one of the royals that had been up on the stage area. That was a good sign, she appeared confident but the moment she spoke up, there was a loud hum as the lights flickered. Marcellus turned to look at Cronus, who seemed to focus back into the physical area around him. Marcellus wanted to ask him what was happening when the small 'bang' was heard completely knocking out the lights. Marcellus let out a loud gasp as it fell into darkness rather then the shouts of the other. "Everyone, stay close to me. Cronus what is-" He began to ask, as he held out his hands in front of him, trying to slowly move and not trip over his Pokemon, or run into Julian. He tried to keep his Pokemon calm, but that often doesn't happen, especially with Angelique. "I'm too beautiful to die like Styx!" She cried as she tried to run away to safety, assuming she was running for the door, only to run straight into a chair. Marcellus huffed as he made his way to a near by table and frantically felt around in the dark. He was feeling across the table for something he could use to defend himself just in case. He felt the ornate handle of one of what he felt like was the sharper knifes and brandished it ready to defend himself and his Pokemon. He was not going to let someone steal his Pokemon again. He tried to move back to Cronus for protection but he stepped on his embroidered cloak. As he moved back it pulled his shoulders downwards, causing him to fall backwards with a loud yelp. He landed on one of his shoulders, with a grunt. He didn't exactly know where he was exactly in regards to the room, he just knew he needed to get up, but his fashion choices were making it difficult. Meanwhile Cronus was searching for danger, he didn't care if Marcellus was on the ground, he just needed to make sure no Pokemon of his was stolen like Styx was. He could hear Julian's thoughts reach out. He still had a grudge against the teenager, but now was not the time to ignore him. He wanted to make sure everyone remained safe. "I don't believe it was innocent either. I can't figure out who's mind to pay attention too." He replied, as he tried going from mind to mind, but it was hard with everyone's emotions and frantic minds to find one he needed. He couldn't use anyone's mind's eye to see, seeing that the only eyes that could see in the dark were asleep outside, or he couldn't get into it's head. The flashes of light didn't make it easier as it blinded Marcellus and his Pokemon as they tried to orient themselves or find each other..

XXXXXMarcellus had been struggling to get onto is feet again. He had no sense of where he had been now that he had fallen backwards. He didn't know if he was around any tables or the stage... He could hear a few voices around him but none really close or loud enough to understand who they came from. Soon his location was revealed to him as little flames were seen. The flames couldn't illuminate much until the flickering flames lit the stage on fire. As they did there was a burst of light near by. He looked over and saw he had ended up much closer to the stage then he had thought. He was just left to the stage as he saw the flames, causing him to jump, or what looked more like a roll, further away from the stage. Josette! Use- He began to call out. He was going to have the smoochum put out the flames, but something very large interrupted him. The loud turbine sound could be heard startling Marcellus as he looked around, seeing the room light up blue. It was clear as the darkness faded, it was now Zekrom who lit up the room. As thankful as Marcellus was that he could see, he was never happy to see a dragon. He was able to keep himself free as he distanced himself from the stage, as now a small torrent of steaming water hit the stage putting the flames out. He was thankful there was no more fire, but the chaos was getting too much. He had barely managed to get on his hands and knees as he was ready to call for Cronus to just stop everything. However he noticed that both Novu and Josette were no longer at his feet. He didn't hear any screams, and Cronus didn't look alarmed, but he couldn't where they had gone to as he looked around himself.

On the psychic front, Absolem had stepped away from the brief conversation with the Mewtwo in the room, having made his point about Rhienne's presence among them. He didn't sense any hostility from the strong psychic, or any animosity for being connected with, and that gave Absolem a sort of ease. The Mewtwo was modest almost in a sense, he didn't maintain such a strong guard that it would be entirely impenetrable, and though that could be taken in a few different connotations, Absolem wasn't going to read too much into it. He made himself known and made a show of mutual respect for their prowess, and that was all he felt he needed to do in being in such close proximity.
With no regard for what was occuring with Absolem, Rhienne remained in conversation with Ridley and Amarie as they stood in the ballroom. The crowd had certainly picked up to its max and the festivities were flowing effortlessly, especially after the show of the gifts presented for the archduchess for her birthday celebration. Rhienne hadn't been too particularly interested in the gift giving, though the whole show had Aviabra's attention indefinitely, but Rhienne did wonder after a few moments what kind of history or stories some of the older or more ornate items the archduchess was receiving had. Then came the Diamond Gigalith though, which was something that Rhienne had never fathomed she would see anything of the like in her lifetime, and truth be told she had seen many unique things in her travels and other wise. It was completely solid diamond, that was truly unique, and made for a really beautiful Pokemon, Rhienne almost envied the archduchess now for such a beautiful Pokemon. Through the gift giving and otherwise, Rhienne and Ridley hadn't moved much from where they had crossed paths in their meeting, standing together with their few Pokemon. Just on the other side of a table, off to the side from the main stage and gathering area, and what seemed to be a doorway that lead out to the foyer of the hotel, Rhienne and Ridley hadn't seemed to be in the way of anything or needed to move at all. They were fairly close to the lifted stage where the archduchess sat, they had a clear line of sight for the gift giving presentation that had been made, but beyond that there was a fair gap between Rhienne and the lifted area where many guests had continued to gather.
So far, Rhienne had to say that she was rather enjoying her company with Ridley and Amarie, if really for the normalcy of it all. Ridley was just someone in passing that Rhienne had happened to run into, no extenuating circumstances, no pressing matter, it was being social for being social's sake, and it was kind of nice. Even with the knowledge that Amarie was now completely aware of what Rhienne was and the power that she harbored, the respect that she had already for the ghost gave her no inclination that it was a bad idea for the ghost to be aware. It would have been worse she felt like to try and lie to the spirit or make false claims of things, but Ridley wasn't privy to the same notions that the Mismagius was. It was probably for the best for now, Rhienne didn't exactly still feel like she liked explaining the magic part of her life, but she was enjoying talking more about the aspects of her life that had never left her even in her tattered memory. The spiritual connection that her mother had with things beyond the physical world was something Rhienne had always aspired for, and it seemed that on some level Ridley was interested in the idea. She asked a question of whether Rhienne had the same capabilities around humans as she did psychic type Pokemon or other beings, and Rhienne was interested that she had asked such a question, but right in the height of their conversation, Rhienne's ears twitched at a sudden shift in the room, and then everything went completely dark.
"Aw man! This better not mean the party's over! I haven't even had cake or anything! And we were just getting to the good part of talking about Alola" Aviabra whined as she glanced in Delphine's direction, crossing her arms over her chest as she stood with Rhienne whom chose to stay where she stood. It would be no use to be stumbling around in a crowd of so many people and possibly get tripped and trampled over.
"Settle down Aviabra," Wattson sighed as he stood too beside Rhienne, keeping a close watch on things through the cries and shrieks that came from the disgruntled and otherwise upset crowd of guests. It was understandable that guests would be upset, they could have been in the middle of trying to eat something, tripped over something, started running into other people, it was mildly distressing. Various small glows of light began to pool here and there from smaller Pokemon that were out and about, but so far Rhienne didn't think there was much to be concerned about. Electricity was fickle, this was also an old hotel despite how well known and beautiful it was.
"It's just temporary probably, the power in a place this big can go out for just about anything. Are you okay Ridley" Rhienne commented, adjusting her glasses to make sure they stayed on her face as she did little to move around or trip over anything. However, over the regular noises of murmurs, shouts, various Pokemon cries, and other such ramblings from those who were trying to orient themselves in the darkness, there was one loud shriek of a scream that came over the crowd, and then the sounds of a struggle from somewhere in the room that did cause a mild sense of alarm.
"What was that, did something happen Wattson," Rhienne asked, knowing the Lucario was far more intuitive with even a lack of sight than she could ever be, but before much else could be said, all of a sudden there was a flash, the sound of a giant turbine, and a blinding light that flooded the room because a Zekrom was now standing in the middle of the ballroom flaring its tail.
"What is that doing here? I doubt that's the hotel's back up energy supply," Rhienne commented through a bit of a groan, having to shield her eyes from how bright the electric type's tail had grown as she turned away. In just a few short moments, everything went from completely normal to terribly confusing, and she wasn't sure things would make much more sense when the lights did manage to come back on.

[/b]"[/font] Ridley spoke, she wasn't screaming or sarcastic like her voice was before when speaking to the ghost. But now Ridley was questioning the ghost if they were still safe, but too afraid to ask the question. Her voice was steady, but now had a clear tone of fear and seriousness to it. "I don' sense anything malicious but I don' think this was an accident." Amma warned as she floated, there wasn't fear in her voice, but it was a bit softer then it was before. Near them, while Aviabra complained that things had just gotten good between them, Delphine nor Jessica were feeling bummed, but they were scared. It took Jessica a moment as the darkness set in, but in the pitch black darkness her eyes began to widen quite a bit as her wavy hair began to straighten and literally stand on ends. "Oh no... Not again!" She cried, her calm and sultry voice from before replaced with a frantic one. Jessica still hadn't revealed the horrors and pains she faced while taken by Raphiel, having to struggle and fight against him and his Pokemon only to lose like all the rest. What it was like to be hypnotized and taken control of to do evil. It was all flooding back to her as her heard began to pound. "Jessica, It's not happening again. We won't let them take you." Delphine commented as she began to try and feel around for Jessica. The Jynx was frozen in fear as she held onto herself, so it was up to Delphine to find her. Jessica was closer to Wattson and Rhienne then she was the fox, so the Delphox had to move towards them, but once she found the Jynx she hugged her, as the Jynx latched on to Delphine.

Rhienne's voice chimed in, talking to Ridley about it probably being the old building. The blonde let out a nervous laugh that wasn't all that convincing. "Yeah, I'm fin-" She began to stay as there was a flash of light that was almost painful. It stopped Ridley in her tracks as she clasped her hands over her eyes and groaned out of the annoyance. Who would do that? it made everything worse not better. There soon was a loud scream that was the final red flag for Ridley. Delphine reacted quickly, now that there was the sounds of a fight or struggle, she wasn't going to take any chances. She held out her arm as the floating staff flew towards Delphine. The Delphox grasp as she spun it downwards so the end that burns was up. However in doing so the tail in snagged the voluminous skirt Rhienne was wearing. The staff burst into flames as she held it up and then spun it around and waved it in front of her. As if she were ready to fight off anyone who cam near her. With her Pokemon in her sight because of Delphine's staff, Ridley marched over to them and grabbed Jessica's shaking hand. "Screw this. We're out of here." Ridley spat, turning and walking her way to the door, yanking Jessica who was still holding onto Delphine, ready to drag them out. But just as she got to the door, there were more shouts as the room slightly lit up as the stage lit on fire, followed by a loud turbo engine. The blonde had put a hand on the door to the Foyer as she stopped to look back to see the location of the noise and the blue glow. It was a large black dragon like Pokemon, and being from Unova she new the second she saw it's tail that it was Zekrom. Her dropped as she saw the Legendary, what was that doing here? She hadn't made it very so she heard Rhienne's comment. She stated that it probably wasn't the back up lights. "You don't think?" Ridley couldn't help but snap with heavy sarcasm. Given the current situation she was not happy and took it out on the teenager.

"A Rotom? Better find the little prankster before he causes some problems"Andy would say to the Slowking quietly before looking around the ballroom to see if anyone could spot the little electrical menace, though that would be the hardest game of hide-and-seek he had ever played, and in a rather inappropriate place to play it. Besides the wandering Rotom however, the place remained a lively bundle of chatter as everyone kept chatting about different things. Andy along with the Slowbro, Audrey, and Aqua helping out in this impromptu poke-hunt, the ghost being able to hide pretty much anywhere in the place.

The group is still looking around the ballroom when the lights would flicker rapidly for a moment, then go out completely followed by an explosion. "I think we know who did that, though what in the world was that other noise?" Aqua says once the lights go out

"I don't know and we still don't know where that Rotom even is" the Slowking mentions.

"They do like to be annoying any chance they get especially around any and all electronics" Audrey notes.

"Hey! I'm innocent in this!" another voice says, this one rather high-pitched and rather squeaky.

"There he is. where were you Rotom?"

"I was having a bit of fun since the person we were sent wasn't here at first, I didn't cause that power outage though, or whatever that other noise was someone beat me to causing the outage. Rats!"

Slowking gives a sigh, "If you couldn't tell sir, Rotom was the other gift I mentioned. Andy nodding at this while the ballroom around him has descended into blind chaos with everyone either confused or panicky and wondering what caused the outage. the rotom wishing he was the cause of the uproar. Moments later a flash of light, another scream, some barking of dogs, and some footsteps would be heard, none of this seen due to that bright flash making it even harder to see for the moment.

Ugh, what was that flash?" Andy rubbing eyes now leaning against a wall on the left side of the center of the ballroom. That question brought him back to the noise heard just before the outage, did the Archduchess just get kidnapped? What was that noise and was it the cause of the blackout? His vision would be restored in the form of a giant, black dragon illuminating the ballroom. Andy had a question on what that dragon was even doing here but he put that off, for now, glad for its light source, instead looking for the Archduchess to confirm she was at least safe, the gifts would be important to check on too, though why cause property damage for a few presents?

Demetri Nathaniel Albert

Demetri was excited the Ball was going so well. His grandmother was a bit more ungrateful then he would have liked for the Nobel's, but she was fairly humble when accepting the gifts from the attendees. While it didn't surprise him that she was kind almost uncharacteristically kind to them, he was extremely grateful she was. The Baron knew that his grandmother was extremely intelligent, and she knew she was in the public eye for the first time unofficially in years, maybe decades, and she had to be kind. But also, she was being honest and from her words she knew those who weren't as wealthy off from her didn't need to give her anything. She was grateful, this was the woman he wanted the public to see before... Well he didn't want to think about it. Not much had really happened from Rhya's departure. He hadn't been on stage when Liz came up to it, so he missed her outburst, but saw her following along behind Rhya. As she approached, his grandmother questioned what she had, which was strange to him that she would out right address her first, having missed the botched introduction. She seemed to have what looked like a Honedge with her, as well as something else. She only managed to address his grandmother before the lights began to flicker and hum. He looked upwards confused, there wasn't suppose to be any light showmanship, for their safety the lights were suppose to be left on. But he realized soon it wasn't a mistake on their part as the distant explosion knocked out the power. The band stopped playing as his Grandmother questioned it and demanded the lights come back on. "It's alright Grandmother, we should be just fine-" He leaned in, able to feel for her chair and speak quietly to her. There were shouts from those shocked in the darkness, but it seemed calm. However with the sound of coming footsteps, and the growling of his mother's Snubbull he began to panic. He stood back up trying to solve where they were coming from. "Get down!" He heard behind him as a blinding flashing light stunned him. Demetri stumbled forward as he went to dive for the ground, but stopped himself. He knew his grandmother would be able to. He tried to reach for her to help her, but as he did he felt something impact him. He let out a grunt as he tried to push against the force, stumbling. He might have been able to push back on who ever was attacking him had his grandmother's Snubbull not been in the way. Both he and who ever was attacking him fell from the stage and landed with a hard thud, causing both to grunt out in pain. But it didn't take long for both to remember what had happened. "Get off!" Demetri demanded as he began to try and shove who ever was on top of him, while they were desperately trying to pin him down. Demetri wasn't sure what the attacker's plan was, but he was not about to try and find out. He continued to try and roll him off or maybe even punch him but the attacker was strong and skilled. Had Demetri not been so fit he wouldn't have stood a chance. He had no idea what was going on, as a scream filled the air followed by another blinding flash. His heart was racing, he had never been in danger like this, so he did fear for his life. He hadn't notice the flames fly over him and like the stage on fire, the flames weren't bright enough to illuminate his attacker's face. However the loud jet sound and the brilliant light was enough to, revealing Demetri to be on the ground right in front of the stage towards the center of it. But in the struggle he couldn't focus on the face. Especially having to adjust his eyes. He could feel the Snubbull under him, but it wasn't until he felt a wet burning sensation on his legs did the struggle break up. The attacker rolled off of him and they both scrambled away from what was burning them. This gave him time to see who was attacking him, the guard who was behind him. He gave a confusing look at the guard. "Oh, My Lord, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean- I didn't know-" He began to stammer through his words. Demetri held up an hand to stop him. He was angry that his grandmother's, as well as his own, security tackled him rather then protecting him, but he couldn't worry about that now. "I'm fine, but we need to figure out what happened." He told the guard as he got up. As he did he now felt just how wet he was from the waters that put out the fire. He could now feel the majority of his pants had gotten wet. He tried to reach down and brush off any access but it was no use. However, this allowed him time to see his grandmother's Snubbull, Princess, charging him. Assumingly because he had landed on her. He scooped her up and held her at an arms length as he tried to look around and figure out what happened.

Elizabeth Plum

Elizabeth was in a mixture of excited and put off by all of the gifts she had seen. She appeared to be the only reporter here which was amazing, she was able to have the report of all of the gifts to herself. It would be a better report then who wore what. The gifts were lavish and beautiful. She obviously would love getting to wear the fine jewelry she'd never afford, but she didn't like that the Gigalith had been show off, like a show Ponyta. But the Diamond Pokemon appeared to be okay with being shown off, in fact it was in a striking pose of grandeur and power, so he looked like he was enjoying himself. If that's what he liked to do and was happy with all the attention he was getting, then how could she be upset with that? It definitely calmed her nerves after seeing the pictures she took of him, he looked beautiful and he enjoyed himself. Maybe he actually wanted to be a show Ponyta. He was diamond after all, so he might belong better in the luxurious life they could give him rather then in his natural habitat. At least this way he would be safe from poachers. With that, she happily remained by the stage and began to snap more pictures of all of the gifts together, she as well had gotten a picture of all of the confetti and the guests it rained on. As She even got a few snaps of Kathryn's Hoopa with the Archduchess. It was such a good shoot of the royal with the Legendary, that was definitely always a good thing for the people to see. The royals and Legendary Pokemon being kind and working together. It was very touching. After she got a few pictures of the gifts together with the new additions, she moved over to the band to take pictures of them. She had spent the early parts of the Ball having conversations, so now with the more lively crowd she was ready to do her job. She moved out further onto the dance floor to snap a few pictures of the guests, mean while her tiny Cutiefly remained perched on her shoulder. Getting two young woman talking with their Pokemon, identically two men talking with theirs. But as a Red head walked back in with one of the Archduchess' helpers, Elizabeth moved back to the stage to take a picture of their interaction ending up on the right corner of the stage with the band playing on her right. As she lined up for the shot to take a picture, the lights began to flicker and hum. She lowered her camera to look up at the lights. She thought it was strange but she wasn't worried until there was a distant explosion. She quickly looked in the direction the sound came from as the room fell completely dark. She didn't scream but had a sharp in take of breath. She was startled, but she wasn't exactly scared, it took a lot to scare this reporter. She could hear the Archduchess making demands to turn the lights on, but what really caught her attention was the sound of near by running footsteps. She stood still and listened to them, and once she heard the Snubbull growling she knew this might be something bad. She tried to think in her mind where the Archduchess was and pointed the camera in what she thought was her direction. She turned her flash on and snapped a picture. This however didn't help give her or anyone sight as the flash lit up the Ballroom and further blinded everyone. She had hoped it would give her a glimpse of who it was, but nothing. At least she could get a picture of the attacker. She then heard a scream and a struggle, so she snapped another picture. She watched to capture what ever was happening in the dark. She managed to take her second picture when something really heavy ran into her. It was a person ramming into her, maybe trying to run past. This knocked the petite woman off of her feet. She didn't scream, but she did let out a grunt as she hit the ground, as there was a sound of something else landing near by. It took her a moment to capture her wits, but she took in a sharp breath to ignore the pain and looked about the darkness. "Oh no, My camera!" She cried to herself as she began to search on her hands and knees, which was difficult in her long dress. Her search was short lived as a fire was set on the stage and a loud turbine sound filled the room and then very brightly lit the room. "What-- Zekrom?" She questioned astonished by the sight of it. But the shock was washed away, this was a good time to take a picture of the fire and Pokemon. But the moment was squandered but not only the fire being put out, which Elizabeth definitely wasn't upset about, but also she sight of her broken camera. She let out a sound of shock and pain as she found her broken camera, as she picked up the pieces to see if it were fixable, sitting back on the ground just maybe just feet from where she was standing before, while her Cutielfy circled her from above in a worried and nervous fashion after seeing her camera.

Marco Dirk

Marco was still frustrated with his ghost, having knocked his bag down and spilling some of it's contents onto the floor. They were valuables, ones he thought important enough to keep on his person at the ball rather then lock up. Sableye didn't mind the scolding in the slightest, and Marco knew this. But he just knew the ghost better have learned. Cyren commented on him not breaking anything, and that nothing could keep a Pokemon from doing what they enjoyed. "Yeah, looks like I lucked out." he commented on that it seemed nothing did in fact break. "No kidding there." He replied. Sableye was fairly careless when it came to what he wanted. He wanted something, so why not just get it? That's things worked in the wild at least. Plus it was fun for him. The ghost seemed to be proud he made a friend as his gems gleamed even more so. He was ready to jump onto his new found friend when the lights went out. This was no problem for Sableye, darkness was where he lived in the caves. The flash however was as it blinded him too like the rest, causing him to cover his gem eyes and seek shelter in the now endless shadows. As his new dragon friend would look for him, trying to keep himself, she would not feel him. Marco could hear Cyren move away from him as he spoke to Eve, however he was worried. Not for Sableye, the ghost could fend for himself especially in the darkness. However, valuable items and information had just been knocked onto the floor and now the lights went out.. He had to act like this was no coincidence. He clutched his old leather back in his arms right against his chest. He wasn't about to let anything get stolen from him. He began to back away from the stage, bumping into a table in the process. However as he tried to make his exit, there was a loud scream that stopped him. It wasn't a shriek of fear that was caused by the sudden darkness. It was a bad scream. There was the sounds of struggle as there was another flash of light. Marco remained still by the table closest to the Foyer door, as the stage was set on fire. The room was soon filled with sound that didn't belong, at least until the Pokemon lit up the room in a brilliant light. He couldn't look directly at the source at first because of it's brilliance, but he soon identified the Pokemon as Zekrom. His mouth fell open, as Cyren a few yards away now commented on how you don't see that every day. He was definitely right. Marco was still tightly clutching his bag, as he let it go and quickly looked back to Cyren. "You're definitely not wrong..." He commented in a shocked tone. He looked back to Cyren as he let out a Pokemon, a Kabuto, but a very interestingly colored one, as it was on his arm and began to put out the fire with steaming water. "That's another thing you don't see every day" He commented to the male as he slowly made his way back to the Pokemon. Marco however looked around for his Sableye, who appeared to be no where in sight. However, after a wider scan he spotted the ghost in front of the stage towards the center, completely ignoring Zekrom and staring at the gift table. Marco snapped his fingers and gave the Sableye a warning look when he caught his attention as the little ghost began to scamper back to Marco. "Are you and your Pokemon alright?" He asked as he go closer to Cyren again thankful he was able to see again.

Crime at the Orient Hotel

Additional Summery

As the power outage and chaos ensued, things seemed to get worse and worse. What might have only been a minute or two, sparked a lot of actions and tragedies. As the group of trainers and elites reacted to the outage, and sounds their actions may have revealed, at least some. It would seem that a trainer within the darkness seemingly lit the stage on fire, thought luckily it had only been the left side of the stage that had caught fire. Unfortunately the fires didn't light the main of the stage, leaving the Archduchess and those on the stage concealed in darkness. However it was able to reveal a two males on the ground in front of the stage struggling and fighting each other, but only their legs were visible in the flame's light. Shortly there after the room filled up with the sound of jet turbines as a brilliant light lit the room. So bright it might be blinding to those who haven't gotten use to it yet. This was the doing of none other then the Legendary of Ideals itself, Zekrom. Which this use of it's abilities were definitely Ideal to say the least. This revealed most everything, at least the placement of everyone. However, another trainer took it into his hands to put out the flames. Zekrom lighting the room first having revealed it to be Cyren with his interestingly colors Kabuto. However, his actions had an unintentional reaction. Luckily the male and his Pokemon had good aim so the scalding water landed and put out the flames nicely, but the water running off of the stage landed on those two males struggling on the ground. The water had cooled enough not to burn them, but was hot enough to break up the fight and cause them to yell out in pain and scramble away from the stage.

Official facts from the crime.

As Zekrom kindly lit the room for everyone, it gave everyone a glimpse of the room moments before the back up lights were able to boot up for the Hotel. This gave everyone a glimpse of what was happening sooner then they normally would have. This revealed that On the ground struggling was Demetri and the Security Guard who was standing behind him when the lights went out. Both of which were fighting and wrestling each other, before both blindly were doing so. Neither of which were angrily trying to injure each other, but they both appeared to be trying to subdue or fend off the other. As the hot water broke up the fight, Demetri and the Guard were separated and they got a good look at who they were fighting and both stopped immediately both. After a brief conversation they began to stand now wet, and began to figure out what happened. He appeared unaware of the tragedy, or at least he appeared to have not seen it. On the other side of the stage. The room lit up around the Reporter Elizabeth, as she was blindly searching on her hands and knees for something. She had her camera bag still around her, but not her camera as her Cutiefly had been trying to locate her in the air above her, who quickly fluttered down and fluttered about her. She was momentarily stunned by the Legendary before locating what she was searching for which was her broken camera. She began to inspect it, clearly upset by it as she tried to look if it were fixable. Around the ball room, everyone had quite a different set of reactions. However, as Zekrom lit up the room, it revealed everyone, not just the stage. As the light shined on Marco, He was clutching his leather satchel tightly as he was now quite a distance from where he was when the lights went out, and much more noticeably closer to the door to the Foyer. He appeared to be uneasy, but then quickly mystified by the electric Legendary However his Sableye was opposite from him in the room, the ghost was right in front of the stage staring up at the gift table before getting called back to Marco's side. Near him was Cyren, who was also in a different place then he was when the lights went out. But not by much. As the lights revealed him, he was holding the head of his Noivern, while his Machop was clinging to him. Cyren used his shiny Kabuto to put out the flames that were started in the darkness. Julian who appeared to be standing closest to Zekrom, standing closest to two forms of light, the Umbreon as well as the Legendary. It appears that the young man hadn't moved at all in the darkness, but he was unfazed by the appearance of Zekrom, at least after adjusting to the light like everyone else. Nearest him was Marcellus who was on the ground fairly close to the stage and the struggling Guard and Baron, The trainer was in quite a different place then he was when the lights went out as well as his Pokemon, notably closer to the stage as well as on the ground. He was clutching a knife in his hand tightly as he dodged away from the flames of the stage, and looked startled by Zekrom. His Mewtwo appeared to be in the same place, however his Red Smoochum was on the ground further from the stage, while his Bulbasaur and White Smoochum were no where to be seen. Further back away from the stage was Andy. As he shined int he light, it appeared that he hadn't moved from his placement before the lights went out, which was far left of the Ballroom in the center against the wall. However, what did happen in the darkness that could be seen was the appearance of a Rotom very shortly after the power went out and the explosion. Closest to him was Ridley, who was in a rather different place then she was when the lights went out. When Zekrom revealed her location. she was at the door of the Foyer, dragging her shiny Jynx and Delphox with her. She had a look of shock an uneasy as she looked back at the now lit room and spotting the legendary. She didn't move away from the door once the Zekrom shined lights on the room. Rhienne was closest to Ridley, She was standing exactly where she was standing when the lights went off, as was her Lucario and shiny Medicham. They didn't appear to have moved at all except shielding their eyes from the brilliant light from the Legendary. Further away from her was Kathrine. Once the light shown her, she was a few feet from where she was when the lights went out. She was now on the left side of the room a few feet from the Food Table in the kneeling position. Her Aipom was on her shoulder while Hoopa was nearby her. Her Rowlet was still missing from her side. Liz appeared to be standing in the same place where she was when the light went out, same for her Pokemon for the most part. She was standing in front of the stage, directly in front of the Archduchess. Her Pokemon, Shiny Absol, Salandit, and Tsarenna were standing defensively, while her Spinarak was still sitting on her person. As she was wielding a Honedge using it as if it were a real sword offensively. While both Lucille and Estelle were still missing from the Ballroom. Not one guest appears to be completely or obviously innocent, and any one of them could have had the time to commit the crime.

Start of the Story

Up on the stage, it was a different story. Only Archduchess Adelaide, Rhya, and Rhya's Audino and Shinx. Adelaide's blue Snubbull, Killer, had rejoined the Archduchess at her now wet skirts. However this revealed the true crime, but not one might expect. Rhya, The Archduchess's caretaker was sitting in the royal's lap on her ornate birthday chair. However, she did not look okay. She was clutching her shoulder that a long knife was now sticking out off. The kind caretaker was in tears as blood began to pour out of the wound and down her white flowy dress. It would appear that Rhya had tried to take care of Adelaide int he dark, but was knocked into her lap, in which she took the knife for the older woman. Not only this, on the wall just behind Lady Adelaide's chair, there was a poisonous needle sticking out of it. On level with where she was sitting, it seems to have just missed to the left of her. The Archduchess had a look of shock on her face as she held onto her crying caretaker, her face full of horror. "Rhya!" The Security guard that had been struggling on the ground with Demetri, while the second guard had appeared to be near the live band, as he looked around once the lights came on. Almost as if he was unsure of where he had ended up in the darkness. But once the other call out Rhya's name he turned to see the tragedy and ran for the stage. "She's been- My dear Rhya's been stabbed!" The Archduchess cried as the guards frantically moved to help Rhya. They both quickly lift her off of Adelaide and laid her flat on the ground. Demetri joined Rhya on the wet stage, having dropped the pink Snubbull he was holding who joined Adelaide now hiding behind the chair with her brother. He raced to her side kneeled by her with wide panicked eyes "Rhya, it's going to be okay. You're alright." Demetri spoke to her trying to keep the sweet girl calm, while her Audino stood in shock with his paws clasped over his mouth, and her shinx's eyes welled up with tears. "For heaven's sake, do something!" The Archduchess demanded, her voice shouting at the guards as she stood up. Both guards appeared to be in a panic as one of the put a hand on Demetri's shoulder to guide him back. The guards blew a whistle as an Abra appeared. "Teleport Rhya to the nearest hospital immediately." He commanded as the Abra didn't wait for him to finish the sentence ans Rhya had disappeared, however, the bloody knife from in her shoulder reappeared on the gift table, away from any gifts, since it was now evidence. The other guard however had drifted away and towards the gift table and gasped. "Your Grace, The Diamond Gigalith is gone!" The guard exclaimed in a panic. The Archduchess's head quickly looked to the table and leered at the guard. "My caretaker has been stabbed. Forget the bloody Gigalith." She commanded despite how rare and valuable the Pokemon was. Her main focus was the caretaker that she had known since she was a little girl. "I'm going with her." Demetri spoke looking to the Abra, however Adelaide held up a hand. "No." She stated sternly with a single tear on her cheek. "You're going to stay here, and solve who did this to our Rhya. You studied law and criminal investigation in college. You're going to figure out who did this Demetri. I'm no fool. She was injured but this was not one attempt on my life, but three." She spoke firmly, her voice angry enough for her to be projecting through the ball room as she pointed to the knife on the table, the poison barb on the wall, and finally the fire on the stage. Demetri stopped to look at the little pool of blood that had now formed on the wet stage for a moment then looked up. "You're right I will. Also if we can figure out who took the Gigalith, we can solve do did this..." He spoke wiping the tears from his eyes having found it hard to see his child hood friend in such pain. The Archduchess then turned to everyone, looking out over all the guests. For a moment she looked over all of the guests with a look of anger before speaking. "Under my rightful authority, everyone in this hotel is under my arrest. No one is to leave the hotel grounds until this crime has been solved. Those who do will be deemed enemies of the Kalos Region and charged to the fullest extent." She spoke eying over all of the people and Pokemon in front of her. She was the Archduchess, she had more authority then anyone person in Kalos except for the King and Queen. She had more authority then the Prince or Princess, she had every right to arrest every person and Pokemon in the Hotel. While Zekrom, Mewtwo, and Hoopa, the only known legendaries in the room, might be a little out of her jurisdiction, she sure could rule all three enemies of the state. "My grandson, Demetri Nathaniel Albert The Baron of Kalos, will be leading this investigation, you all will cooperate fully, and aid him in solving this case. Every Man, Woman, and Pokemon in this room is now a suspect." She spoke. While she knew Rhya's wound was not fatal, she was going to charge the criminal with attempt at murder for Rhya and herself, not once but three times, on top of the thievery of her Gigilith.

Who Done It?

Cats out of the bag, and there's no putting it back! This is now a full blown Choice Driven Clue Event!
All characters in the Hotel (NPC and original) are all expected to help solve a murder! However, your character is still authentically your own, and we would like them to act as they normally would to the events occurring. There are still choices to be made.
Every post that happened between this post and the previous post when the lights went out will be the alibi of the character. that goes for every character, not just the NPCs. The 'alibi' posts might not be true at all and completely fabricated. The only facts officially that are true are the "Official facts from the crime." because that was visible to everyone. This is so the roleplayers will have to think it through too, and so there's no outside bias influencing the characters in any specific direction.
There are clues all about the Ballroom, maybe even the Garden and Foyer, that could lead to who did it! The only way to find them is to look! I'll be creating and posting a basic map of the Ballroom to keep everyone on the same page, and help look for the clues. It will be posted in the Interest Thread. I ask that you be very specific about where you search, because I will update in roleplay if your character finds a clue. If you find one, there maybe some rewards that come with it... I will update the roleplay if you found a clue within 24 hours if your character has found one. If I can't post in time, I will at least message you to let you know that I will update when I can.
Don't forget, not all clues can be physical, feel free to continue to mingle and meet those characters around you. It also is up to the finder of the clue to deem if it's useful or not.
Once all of the physical clues have been found, or everyone believes and agrees who it is, the Characters, not roleplayers, will decide who the culprit is. I'll explain more about that when we get there.
I'm going to give you a freebie hint. I wouldn't only focus on the NPCs. Like Archduchess Adelaide said, everyone is a suspect.

XXXXXMarcellus let out a huff as he tried to adjust his cloak behind him. His eccentric fashion choices had scorned him in the past, but he never seemed to learn. Zekrom's brilliant light seemed to assist everyone in getting themselves together as the real lights came back on. He began to shift and try to get onto his feet when there was a scream in the room, it wasn't in pain, but a cry of someone's name. He looked up as he pushed himself onto his feet and spotted what had happen. The brunette woman that had run after Liz had been stabbed and it seemed to be in the place of the Archduchess. A knife was plunged into her chest, or shoulder rather. A knife just like the one he was holding. He didn't think too much about it as he gasped and clasped his free hand over his mouth. Seeing the blood start to stain her flowing white dress, his stomach lurched as he retched as he turned away from the stage. The sight of the knife and her blood was too much for the "delicate" male. He listened to the altercation happening behind him, which was the Baron and Archduchess reacting to what happened with their guards. Marcellus decided to look around him, Julian had been just find, he could see him in the dark with Umbreon and Zekrom of course. But he wasn't going to go near Julian while Zekrom was around. He looked to see Liz wielding what looked like a Honedge, which he found a little bizarre. But Julian had taken time to check on her. He stopped and looked down to his Pokemon. Cronus was still where he left him, while Angelique was spread eagle on the ground from running face first into the table where he was. However he couldn't locate Josette, or Novu. "Josette? Novu?" Marcellus called out around him. He could see Cronus, and he didn't start to look for the two, and he wasn't worried, at least as much as he would if he actually found out Novu had been stolen. This calmed him a bit. However, shortly after He found Novu peeking out from under one of the tables. Marcellus kneeled down and lifted the table cloth. "Novu, you can't do that. I told you to stay close to me." He scolded, but his voice was more relieved then angry. "But I couldn't see you and everyone started screaming and Angelique said we were gonna die like Styx and I got really scared..." He began to ramble on. Marcellus couldn't understand the Bulb, Cronus had other things to focus on then to translate for the little Bulb. As Josette emerged as well once she knew it was save, having used Novu as a scapegoat, Marcellus shushed the bulb. "Shhh, it's alright, You can come out. Everyone is okay." He spoke to them, trying to not worry the Pokemon, however he stretched his bottom lip, Looking away from them. "Well.. Not everyone.." He corrected, remembering the woman, Rhya apparently, who had been stabbed.

XXXXXMarcellus stood up, running his fingered through his hair with his free hand to make sure it was still in place, seemingly forgetting the knife clasped in his hand as he listened. As he started to listen in again, Rhya had been teleported out, and they had discovered the Diamond Gigalith had been stolen as well. Marcellus let out a gasp as he looked towards Cronus. "Do you think it was a robbery?" Marcellus asked him quietly. "It's unclear... I didn't know who to focus on, and anyone I did had no grasp of what was happening either." Cronus replied in hushed tones as well. Despite the fact that Rhya should be alright, and the Pokemon was probably valuable enough to bankrupt the entire region, she seemed to only focus on Rhya. It was interesting but if they were close it was very understandable. After the old woman refused to let her grandson leave, she expressed that he should solve what happened over some sort of police or some form of law enforcement. Marcellus found it a bit odd even if he had a degree...But he accepted to find the Gigalith and stop who ever stabbed Rhya. He assumed that now the Ball would officially be over, causing them to have to leave. But he was wrong. The Archduchess turned and effectively placed everyone on Hotel Arrest, and deemed any person leaving would be an enemy of the Kalos region. Marcellus's mouth dropped open as he took another step back, this time adjusting for his cape. His head snapped to Cronus, He wanted to ask if she could do that, but the white haired trainer already knew she did have the authority. She then began to explain that everyone would help the Baron in his efforts to solve the murder, and that everyone was a suspect. He then looked around the room for a moment, his eyes flicking to every face he didn't know, then back to Cronus as he began to step away from the stage. "I cannot believe she's labeling everyone a suspect. Clearly I and a few other guests couldn't have caused this." He commented, surprise in his voice. Marcellus was perfect, maybe he had a struggle here or a mishap there, but he would never cause something like this. It's completely unheard of. He also believed that Liz had no hand in it either. "Of course you could have. Just like any other could have too." Cronus replied out loud. Marcellus' head snapped to Cronus, giving him a shocked 'what' face. "You were near the stage to cause the crime, however the lights were off for a long time for anyone too. You obviously didn't set the fire but could have, you have a poison type with you out and about for that poison needle. You had time just like any other person here." He replied with caused Marcellus's face to dead pan with wide eyes in complete shock. "Cronus" He exclaimed in a tone that was full of shock, he had the audacity to say that out loud! Admitting he was able to cause a crime he very clearly could never cause. "We better start finding clues." Cronus stated calmly as he moved away from the steaming trainer. Of course, Cronus didn't think Marcellus could have done it, but he wanted Marcellus to see how easily it would have been for him to be implicated. After a moment, Marcellus's lips tightened as he began to realize he might be right. "Everyone stay very close to me." Marcellus spoke to Novu, Josette, and Angelique who obeyed and began to move towards Julian and Liz.

What the hell was happening here?! Everything was chaos. Julian had no idea what was going on. He only knew that the crowd was nearly in an uproar. He didn't want to have to deal with some sort of mob on top of the power outage and the looks Zekrom was attracting. He didn't need a repeat of Alto Mare. He held tight to the Pokeball that would recall Zekrom at any moment, trying to decide on the spot whether it would be best to keep him out or to return him now.

Julian could tell the Archduchess was speaking, but couldn't read her lips well enough to make it out. Espeon, meanwhile, was being no help whatsoever. She was staring at the older woman as if struck dumb and Julian couldn't understand what exactly was going on. "Espeon!" He practically shouted at her mind. He saw her flinch, and look away from the scene of the crime. "What did she say?" He thought, making sure she could read the annoyance coming from him. Espeon did not answer right away, glancing instead at Marcellus and Cronus to see how they were coping with the news.

"She said... the woman said that we are under arrest for this. We can't leave." Julian's mouth fell open. Of course he hadn't had anything to do with this, that was simply preposterous! He had no motive, for starters. Not to mention, he hadn't moved from the spot he was standing the entire time. Not that he even could have if he'd wanted to. "What do we do?" She asked the Trainer, hoping he would know. The Trainers were supposed to be able to solve their problems, and direct their Pokemon like soldiers on a battlefield allowing them to win any war.

Julian looked around for Liz, spotting her near the stage. Oh no, that wasn't good... or was it? Anyone that close was bound to be a suspect, and questioned first. However, if Liz was questioned they would be able to clear her quickly. Nobody could mistake Liz for a killer. As he looked at her, he found himself wishing he'd asked her to dance, trying that thing with Espeon's psychic powers to let him hear the music. Oh well, it was too late for that now.

He let out a sigh and looked at Marcellus. "We play along. We're innocent, and as far as I'm concerned that's all that matters." Standing off against Darkrai had been one thing, that was a matter outside of anyone's control but this - this was an actual criminal case. This was attempted murder, and the police weren't anything to play around with. Now he turned his thoughts to Marcellus, using Espeon so as not to disturb Cronus from what he was doing. "Look, we both know we're innocent but if we want to leave we're going to have to deal with this. Can Cronus keep up with everyone's thoughts in the room? Espeon can't, but it should be easier to get answers if we focus on one at a time - that is to say the ones being questioned."

Well, one thing was for sure, he wasn't putting Zekrom away. If they were going to actually try arresting people - like in the movies - then they were going to have one hell of a time trying. He might not be holding a royal flush, but he had some cards in his hand that could keep the game both fair and interesting. Standing next to Zekrom, leaning on his elegant cane for support, he waited to see what would happen next.

(To make it clear, Julian's going to be 'listening in' on the questioning and trying to look for signs of deception in the minds of those being interrogated)

Cyren nodded to Marco when he rejoined them. His Kabuto gripped his shoulder tight when he noticed something moving close to them but relaxed as soon as things were mostly still again. Any sort of movement too close to him was enough to put Yami on edge. He felt that this was justified given their current circumstances. Cyren remained as still as he could manage, moving only to wave Eve back over to him and glance their immediate area. The girl by the stage couldn't have picked a worse spot to be in. Someone had just been attacked. While he didn't believe she was the cause, the situation they were in was tense and someone might be quick to accuse her just because she happened to be holding her Honedge in a way that could be interpreted as hostile. That Zekrom certainly drew quite a bit of attention but he assumed none of them were so oblivious that they wouldn't notice a giant Pokemon attacking the stage. Considering that thing a suspect felt entirely unreasonable. His attention fell back on Marco. He had moved away from the stage area when the lights went out so he highly doubted he could have done anything. Sableye was too distracted by the gift table to have caused any trouble. "Seems things have taken a turn." He carefully removed his Kabuto off of his shoulder, almost getting himself bit in the process. Yami was in no mood to be moved. Cyren patted his shell apologetically after he set him down on the floor. The floor wasn't going anywhere any time soon and he didn't want his Kabuto to be disturbed if he was questioned for soaking the stage. "You doing okay?" Venus questioned the Fossil Pokemon. He only hissed in response. The Kabuto was in no way pleased with the situation but he trusted his Trainer. He was sure he would be returned to his Pokeball as soon as possible. "Eve was startled by the lights going out but it looks like she's calmed down." The Noivern in question let out an indignant cry and twitched her tail back and forth across the floor. She wasn't scared! The sudden dark and all the terrifying noises weren't that scary! She shuddered at the memory of the scream, settling down and positioning herself behind Sableye so she could hide him in her wings. He would be safe from the scary things there. Cyren smiled a bit and shrugged. "From the looks of it I'm doing better than most right now." Even after being told they were all under arrest and suspects in an attempted murder Cyren somehow managed to maintain his calm demeanor. "How are you holding up?" Marco had not reacted to the darkness as well as Cyren had. He hoped he hadn't been harmed in his attempt to distance himself from the stage in the dark.

Venus was so distracted by her Trainer and Marco that the tiny voice next to her almost caused her to jump out of her skin. The Kabuto had finally decided to speak instead of just hissing at her. "Does 'aid' mean we're required to help search for clues?" He whispered, turning himself slowly until he was facing what he assumed was the gift table. "Something was stolen off of that?" Venus nodded at him, watching the Kabuto take a slow step forward. The sooner they sorted this out, the sooner he could go back into his Pokeball. Crawling to the stage took him much longer than it would a normal Kabuto. He began following the edge of it on the side closest to the gift table, trying to see if anything was out of place. Venus stayed close to him. Now was not the time for him to be wandering off. Cyren hadn't even noticed he had left because he wasn't expecting Yami to move. The Kabuto only ever moved as much as he had to. "Up." He hissed softly, looking up toward the gift table. He needed to get up closer to it. Venus hesitated but decided she couldn't see the harm in it. How much damage could a slow moving Kabuto actually do? With that in mind she grabbed Yami and tossed him up on to the stage close to the gift table. She was not a slow moving Kabuto so she was going to keep as much distance between herself and that area as she could. Once he felt like he was capable of moving again, Yami continued his crawl along the stage, trying to spot anything on the floor or under the table. He didn't care what was on top of the table because he didn't know what was supposed to be up there. There was always a chance something had been dropped during the chaos. That's what he was looking for.
