On the eastern coast of the Galar Region, set aside and secluded but certainly not forgotten, Spikemuth is a thriving, unique town that holds a culture all it's own. It is a small town, so small that it didn't have room for an official League Stadium within it's borders, but that has never stopped Spikemuth for making a name for itself and putting its name on the map. This colorful, vibrant, rich and thriving town is known for it's streets lined with shops of all different varieties and the music that can be heard at every corner. This is a popular place for musicians and artists alike, though contrary to Stow-on-Side, the aesthetic here is more akin to punk and rock and other themes of that nature. There is no shortage of entertainment, new sounds and vibes, interesting people to meet, and a truly unique experience in visiting Spikeumth.
{ Spikemuth Stadium (Click)}Marnie is the official Gym Leader of the Spikemouth Gym. She specializes in Dark Type Pokemon and gives out the Dark Badge to those who defeat her. Marnie is a very stoic but well mannered young woman. She's almost always seen with her Morpeko that her older brother Piers gave her when she was 5. Despite being extremely close, she'll even admit she is at the whim of the Pokemon when she's in a hunger fit. She is very close to her brother and she'll vouch and claim he is very kind and sweet to his dismay. Marnie is by fair the most popular Gym Leader in Galar, some would even say more so then the Champion Leon. She even has been seen with her own 'Team' Yell, that some have compared to Team Skull in Alola. Marnie has stated that she appreciates her fan club, but she doesn't condone any of the trouble they cause. Marnie never asked for or wanted the 'fame' she gained, however she is hoping to use her new found fame to help her dilapidated home down of Spikemouth. Marnie tends to travel many places in Galar, so she can be found all over, often trailed by Team Yell. Marnie's Gym is very different from every other in the region. She left everything the same form when Piers passed it down to her. Her Gym isn't exactly hard to find, most usually hear it before they see it. Piers is often playing a concert there. However, to get to her gym, one must actually sneak into the town itself. When they hear a challenger coming, Team Yell often barricades all town entrances. This is often seen as her Gym Challenge. As they make their way to her gym, Team Yell 'grunts' will jump out and demand battle, which have been seen as her Gym Trainers. Once at her Gym, they will find it's held on an old run down basketball court. Her gym is the only gym in Galar to not be placed over a Power Spot, so Pokemon cannot Dynamax here. There also isn't a large stadium or gift shops to entertain crowds of people. Her Battle field is just a large flat field on broken concrete. Despite it's state, Marnie is proud of her gym. On the side of her gym is a lifted area where Piers holds concerts, and he often plays songs through the gym battle. There was much less rivers and lakes, but still many rolling hills and cliff faces that Emiri could see as they flew. It was nice to see such thriving land, over all it seemed like the Galar region took the natural environment of their region into heavy consideration so as not to disturb the natural habitats of the Pokemon that called the region home, and Emiri could definitely appreciate that.
Taking a look at her map, Emiri noted the next closest location they were heading to, a town called Spikemuth. She had to admit… The names of the cities in Galar were a little strange, but surely if someone came from Galar and went to the Kanto region, they would think the same thing. Flying over the skyline for Spikemuth, Emiri and her pokemon lofted in the air for a few moments looking down at the town. It was vibrant, and colorful, and even up in the air they could hear many different kinds of music coming from every corner, but what they couldn’t see was a clear landing spot… The streets and walkways were so narrow, and part of the town was even blocked off by a wall to the west, it was all very strange… Tentatively, Emiri landed with her pokemon on the outskirts, and took Nimbus and Flareon with her into the streets of the town in order to find the Pokemon Center. Fortunately it didn’t take too long before they spotted it after turning a couple street corners, and from there Emiri was able to enter into the facility and meet with Nurse Joy there to get her next stamp before scurrying back out to get back to her Pokemon on the outskirts. Elfana Aroway Loud was the only word she could use to describe Spikemuth. She might have enjoyed the town's aesthetic had it been a little bit quieter. The nice appearance was dulled by the town's people. Between the music everywhere and the obnoxious yelling some somewhere in the distance, she wished she was deaf. She thanked whatever god that had felt like being merciful that the Pokemon Center wasn't too far into the town. She didn't think she would tolerate having to wander through that mess of noise to find it otherwise. Her Croagunk would have been sent to collect the stamp in her place while she waited outside the town. 'This feels like the type of town Kana would have enjoyed.' She thought to herself while she waited for the nurse add yet another stamp to her ever growing collection. Her brother would have adored all of the noise and the town's unique culture. She couldn't appreciate it to the same degree he would have. She tried to be less critical of it when she left the Pokemon Center though. Elfana didn't have to like the noise but she was going to try not to tear apart a place her brother would have loved.Galar

She didn't have the time to sit around and listen, although she wished she did. She was finally wrapping up the Galar Region and wanted to reach the last location before it got too late. So she hurried into the Pokemon Center to find the Nurse there bandaging the tail of a Liepard. Kira waited patiently for her to finish before requesting and then receiving the stamp she was after. The Nurse noticed that it was getting kinda dark out, and asked if she needed a room. "Oh, no thank you. I can still make it to Wyndon tonight." Kira replied, hurrying out the door with a wave.

 Church wove down the streets of Spikemuth heading straight for where he knew the Stray Dog's base to be. The closer he got the more his rage and fear rose until he struggled to remain calm. It was wild to feel this way about people he had grown up with. He had bled for them, and they had turned on him, and now... now they might have gone too far. He skidded around a corner into an ally and came to a stop. Two men stood facing him with their arms crossed and wicked grins playing across their faces. It wasn't a good sign to say the least.
"Look'n for someone, Mutt?" Church grit his teeth at the insult and flashed them a dark smile as he kicked his bike to the side and prepared for a confrontation. By their words he still didn't know if she was found out or not, so he decided to play it cool. However, he wasn't given a chance to respond before one of the men tossed something onto the ground in front of Church. His eyes settled on the object and almost at once his heart dropped into his stomach. Freya's necklace. The meaning behind it was clear. Freya would never take off that necklace willingly or without a fight. Church had given it to her when they were still kids, something he had stolen during a visit to the big city. It hadn't meant a thing to him, but she had cherished it like it was a part of her. Even now that they had broken up she still wore it and was extremely protective of it.
"Where is she?" Despite his growing emotion his voice was smooth and cold as his gaze shifted to the two men, and he felt dread as their expressions changed into something darker.
"Bottom of the lake by now I would guess, right Blake?" The first man laughed and glanced at the second, Blake. At his words Church felt something inside of him break. It took him a solid minute of silence before he realized his cheeks were wet, but for once he simply did not care if the two men thought him weak for it. He dropped to his knees and stared down at the necklace in stunned silence, his mind unable to comprehend the implications of the man's words.
For a moment no one moved, but then an explosion of red erupted from beside Church and a massive silhouette shot forward at the men. With a glass-shattering roar, Lilith snapped up the first man in her jaws before he could react and with a twitch of her muscles his scream was cut off. Without stopping, Lilith tossed the man's body to the side and spun, slamming her tail into the head of Blake with zero remorse. Blake dropped like a sack of potatoes onto the ground, dead before he could even understand what was happening. Church was oblivious to all of this, too lost in his own head to think clearly. It wasn't until Lilith returned to his side and pressed her nose to his shoulder that he slowly turned his head. She was making an odd noise he had never heard from her before. A kind of soft sound almost similar to a purr, and it was strangely comforting.
"I want to kill them..." Church spoke blankly, feeling drained and cold. For now, his mind rejected the fact that Freya was likely dead. He thought and felt nothing as he slowly stood and picked up the necklace, placing it gently in his pocket. He felt like a hole had been opened up in his chest and a cold wind was blowing through it. It chilled him to the bone. Lilith gave one last purr before nudging him roughly and looking back toward the two bodies in the alley. A man was approaching from the darkness. Church's old leader had made an appearance.

"I see you've already made a mess of things." The man's voice was cold as he locked eyes with Church, and Church could feel a blind rage building the longer he stared into those eyes. The concept that his old leader could kill Freya, of which they both had been friends with since childhood, terrified Church. Church was far from a good man, but killing someone that close to him just to get back at another? It was something he himself could never do, and he hated his old Leader, Adam, all the more for it.
Without a word, Adam grinned and took out a pokeball, holding it out for a moment before releasing his prized silver Metagross in a blinding flash. Lilith squared off with the Metagross, both far too large for the narrow alley they stood in. A battle here would be destructive and dangerous, but neither men nor pokemon seemed to care. Church knew he was out-matched the moment he saw Adam's old Metagross, yet he didn't try to flee or back down. His rage was bubbling up inside of him, forcing him to stand his ground.
Without a word from either trainer, the two goliath pokemon charged forward and clashed. The sound of screeching metal filled the alley as Lilith bit down hard on the Metagross's left arm, swinging it into the brick wall hard enough to shower both with rubble. In retaliation, the Metagross slammed it's right clawed arm into Lilith's side brutally, causing her to stumble into the other brick wall with a shriek. It wasn't so much a pokemon battle as it was a wrestling match between two titans. During which, Church charged past both pokemon and slammed into Adam with a scream of rage, his fists grabbing the man's shirt collar as he took Adam down to the ground. The two men wrested violently as their pokemon fought, both seemingly evenly matched in brute strength.
However, after a brutal blow to the head from the metagross, Lilith was knocked backward into the wall and slid to the ground, struggling to find her feet again. Given the chance, the Metagross turned and with a swing of it's arm it sent Church flying off of Adam. With a grunt of pain Church landed in a pile of rubble left from the pokemon's brawl, rolling down onto the pavement and laying still. Seeing this, Lilith gave one last push and forced herself to her feet, tackling the Metagross away from her master with a roar of outrage. She swung her tail at Adam as the man rose to his own feet, but missed him as the Metagross shoved back and threw it's arms around her, squeezing as she struggled to escape it's grasp.
Desperately, Lilith watched as Adam approached the still form of Church and crouched beside him. The man slid something shiny from his pocket and with one quick motion, plunged a knife into Church's side. The moment Lilith realized what had been done she roared, and with a spurt of anger, managed to break free of the Metagross and charge towards Adam. The man immediately back-pedalled and ducked her snapping jaws as she moved between him and Church with a snarl. Knowing she was out-matched, Lilith did the only thing she could think of. She quickly, yet gently, scooped Church up in her jaws and charged toward the alley's opening, slamming the Metagross out of the way and feeling it's claws gouge her scales as she ran for her life.

Lilith ran down the streets as fast as she could with her injuries, heading straight for the Spikemuth Pokemon Center. She knew it wasn't the best place to take an injured human, but she knew of no other place. This town was foreign to her, and if it had the equivalent to a human pokemon center Lilith simply didn't know. With a loud crash she forced herself through the wide doors of the pokemon center and landed on her belly in the reception room, her jaws opening to reveal the unconscious and bleeding Church. For a moment no one moved, but then a Nurse came rushing forward and began ordering the healing pokemon and staff as they removed Church from Lilith's jaws and took him away to the back.
Relieved, Lilith slumped on the floor and caught her breath, ignoring the terrified stares of those waiting in the room. Eventually, a nurse returned with her pokeball and thankfully returned Lilith to it, taking her into the back to be healed herself. They had survived the encounter with Adam, but only just, and Church had lost so much more than blood in doing so.

Church woke to a white ceiling and glaringly bright lights. He narrowed his eyes and lifted a hand to block the light, only to flinch as pain stabbed up his side. Slowly, his mind put the pieces of the puzzle together as he glanced around the sterilized room. He was in a hospital? No, the equipment around him was better used on pokemon than people. He was at a pokemon center. What had happened? As the thought crossed his mind, images flickered through his mind of the night before. The two men. The necklace. Adam. Something hitting him hard in the side, then nothing.
With the images came the same cold rage and something else he didn't know the name of. It was a chilly, wild feeling... as if his heart would explode at any moment just from the force of it. Before he knew it he was screaming and grabbing at his head. His cheeks were wet again as he pulled at his hair and screwed his eyes shut. He could hear nurses around him but he blocked them out and screamed until his voice gave out. Only then did he notice one of the nurses had a needle and was moving towards him. No. Within seconds he had rolled onto his feet, grabbed his things off a dresser beside him, and leaped out the window behind him.
The moment he was out of the window he dropped seven feet onto a part of the lower roof that jutted out, rolling off that and falling headfirst into the bushes bellow. He managed to throw his arms out and roll as he hit the earth, laying on his side for only a few seconds before snatching up his things and running. Running where, he didn't know. All he knew was the feeling of adrenaline pumping through his veins and of rain beating down on his exposed arms as he clutched at his clothes and pokeball belt.
He stopped down a back alley a few blocks from the pokecenter and pressed his back to the cold brick wall that made up one side of the alley, sliding down to sit on the packed earth. Here he was sheltered from the rain, yet he felt chilled to the bone as his brain raced to catch up. Moving more out of instinct than anything, Church changed into his normal clothes and balled up the hospital-like gown before tossing it further down the alley. Warmer now, he pressed the palms of his hands against his eyes and tried to think, gritting his teeth as the adrenaline faded to be replaced by pain.
His side and stomach felt like it was on fire, yet he couldn't scrounge up the ability to care. The hole-like feeling in his chest was suffocating, and now that he was calmer he knew why. Freya. It was his fault. He pressed his palms harder against his eyes until stars exploded behind his eyelids. He had sent her to her death just as he had feared, and now it was too late. Rage and sorrow battled it out in his mind until Church felt like his mind was slipping away.
As the hours passed, a numbness slowly seeped into him, washing away his rage and pain until nothing remained. He felt like an empty shell as he finally lowered his hands and blinked away the stars in his vision. Silently he reached into his pocket and fished out the necklace, staring blankly at it for a few minutes before pulling it over his head and letting it rest around his neck. It was smaller on him, more of a choker in appearance than it had ever looked on Freya, but it comforted him. It also reminded him.
Clenching his teeth against the pain from his injuries, of which he still had no idea the extent of, he forced himself to his feet and strapped his belt back around his waist. He counted his pokeballs to make sure none had been left behind before leaving the Alley and heading down the street towards the gates that led out of Spikemuth. He welcomed the numbness as he moved, vowing to kill the bastard that did this, both of them. For now though, he was too weak. Even as emotionally hungover and numb as he was right now, he knew that much. One thing was for sure though, he would never make the same mistake twice.
