The silence of the resort area was almost calm, were it not for how off putting the silence meant things were, there was no music, no sounds from the storefronts, nothing that indicated any kind of normalcy or sign of hospitality. For the most part, everything was still intact, there were a couple of broken fences, some light posts knocked over, and puddles of rain water everywhere, but it didn’t appear that any major damage had taken place as of yet. The sky still remained in gray overcast, matching the gloomy silence that had settled over the island, but the thunder had long since subsided and not so much as a drizzle was coming from the sky, so the storm was gone, offering at least one form of reprieve.
It had been a long, tumultuous trek, miles on foot from having lost her vehicle, but darn it if Grace wasn’t a woman of her word. She was on a mission, with Evelyn right beside her, and the two had been making their way to this very spot ever since they ran off from the Rampardos that attacked. Grace had no way of knowing if her announcement made it very far, how many public address towers it could reach, if it was even discernable to know what she was trying to say, but she hoped and prayed that it was enough. Even once she did get off this island, she wasn’t done, if there was anyone unaccounted for she was coming straight back with the full force of the Kalos Region Pokemon League to find anyone else, there was no way she could let even just one person or Pokemon go unaccounted for.
Grace did make it to the main entrance area, and she spent some time running around to the different facilities to see if there was anything left working… She and Evelyn rummaged through the different restaurants trying to find food that hadn’t gone bad from no refrigerators and stuff that didn’t need to be prepared, they found all manner of water bottles that they could and other drinks, and they went to the Pokemon Center to make sure that there was anything that they could use. First aid equipment, bandages, other necessary implements, and making sure that with the little backup power that there was that at least one of the self service stations was operational. She and Evelyn spent a good long while just getting things together, hoping that they had enough for everyone who would make it this way, and by the time that she came back around to the farther side of the resort area, she did see the trainers.

At that moment, Grace couldn’t hold in her relief as she ran towards the group, looking as disheveled and beat up as the rest of them. She’d fallen down hills, got stuck in bushes and branches, trudged through mud puddles and climbed up rocks, all to get here. Her hair was frizzy and matted, her skin was covered in scratches and dried mud, and her skirt and blouse were unrecognizable with the stains and tears that it endured. But she still donned her no longer white business heels, that had miraculously stayed intact.
”Oh, oh thank goodness you made it, I didn’t think… I didn’t think my announcement would make it that far,” she heaved between ragged breaths, she hadn’t stopped, not at any moment, and she still wasn’t going to. She looked at them all, the trainers that she had greeted, and had promised a great day… And now look at what had happened, some of them couldn’t even stand up straight… In that moment, she had little composure left, and knew that her professionalism didn’t matter now, not after everything that had happened, she almost hesitated, but knew that she had to address them.
”I… I’m not going to apologize for what’s happened, because I know it won’t mean anything compared to what you all have gone through… None of this was supposed to happen,” she started, knowing that an apology was useless, she couldn’t apologize for putting their lives in jeopardy and not being able to do anything about it.
”We weren’t prepared for such a catastrophic system failure, and I wasn’t in our control room to coordinate the rescue efforts… Our teams refused once evacuation protocols began, because… None of us ever thought that any of this would happen…,” she tried to say, but she shook her head, she wasn’t trying to make excuses, there was no excuse, no reasonable notion as to why they had to fight their way tooth and nail just to get back here.
”No, no excuses, that’s not what I’m trying to say. I can’t excuse any of this, this is all a disaster and none of this should have happened, but here we are. I’m going to do everything in my power to get you off of this island, that is my promise to you, and you have my word on it,” Grace said, looking out at the bedraggled trainers.
”Evelyn and I gathered all of the food and water that we could, and bandages and first aid it’s all in the Pokemon Center. I got a couple of our self service machines on the reserve power, so please tend to your Pokemon, I… can’t imagine what they’ve done, what all of you have done, to get here…,” she offered, knowing it wasn’t much, there was nothing that she could truly offer to make amends for any of this, but she was going to do what she could right now in this moment.
”Please, take some time to rest, and tend to your Pokemon, Evelyn and I are going to find a way off of this island for all of us. We’ll be back,” she finished, she promised, knowing that was all she had to offer, but she hoped that they would accept. She ran off with Evelyn to see what they could do about maybe getting the monorail up and operational to get to the docks on the far southern portion of the island.

- There are no more wild battles right now, and as of this update, the event Dinosaurs can no longer be claimed
