Velvet's nightmare scenario on this vacation from hell came running right at her as she had just set foot into the Carnivore Sanctuary as a huge, terrifying reptile bore down on her, teeth gaping wide with a low roar. It was so fast, she barely had time to think before it knocked her down and slowed its roll, thinking that it could turn around and have a snack of the trainer it knocked into the ground. As it turned, Velvet thought fast and flung a Poke Ball at it, hoping with all her heart that this worked. That thing was huge, there was absolutely no way her Oshawott or Pidove would be able to take it on, not in their current states, and she was so scared that it was impossible to think any other solution through. The ball landed on the ground and, miraculously, the Pokemon stayed inside for three shakes and a ding. Congratulations, her phone dinged at her, you caught a Pokemon. She would worry about what exactly that Pokemon was later; she was just quite happy to not be dead. She retrieved the ball, shaken up by everything that was happening, and wondering if she would live through all of this. Shaking like a leaf, Velvet made her way deeper into the second jungle. She didn't see any other Pokemon as she walked, thankfully, because she thought that if something attacked her now she might die of a heart attack before it could kill her itself. Her Pokemon were all worn out, with Applin totally out cold and Oshawott filthy and wounded, her new Pokemon that she'd just caught before it could eat her alive had very little life left in it, which was likely the thing that had saved her life. She was filthy and exhausted and was honestly surprised that she was still able to keep walking. Her legs felt numb by now, but she trudged on, somehow. She came to a clearing where the trees at the edge were broken off in places and huge claw marks were dug into the ground, all in the direction she'd come from. Shockingly, there were other people there, trainers like her that were stranded here on this awful horrible island. Velvet froze as she caught sight of them, looking them over and seeing how hurt they all were, dirty and torn up and injured. She'd been lucky, she realized, more lucky than she even knew. Before she even knew what she was doing, Velvet fell to her knees, just like she had earlier in the day, and just started crying, this time with relief. If they all worked together, maybe they could all help each other survive this nightmarish place. Oshawott hopped out of her trainer's arms and waved at the other people, trying to tell them that she was here, that there was another person! She ran in small circles in front of her trainer, overjoyed like Velvet was to see more people. Her long hair was soaked and hung around her in pitch black ribbons it looked like, sleek with the rain water, her clothes clung to her body, and the purple ears and tail that bore the strangeness of her appearance drooped and remained lifeless almost, like the effort of paying attention to the extremities was too much for her right now. The battle waged on, without her being able to see any of it, her glasses soaked with rain droplets and streaks of water had marred her vision ever since the storm began, all she could do was listen and follow with Aviabra’s guidance. There were screams and shouts coming from every direction, the cries of Pokemon and the ferocious roars of the monster that had come to attack them, and she couldn’t make sense of any of it. She only hoped that Nara was alright… Who knew how many miles and miles away they were from the Pokemon Center? And she barely had any of her regular traveling supplies on her, she really only had the basics in her small bag after assuming she would need anything serious on an all expenses taken care of resort of an island? How stupid of her to assume that there would be nothing else she would need to be concerned about…
Then she yelped, both in surprise and in shock as she was running, and her left foot slipped and slid right into a divet or a hole of some kind hidden in the mud and grass. Immediately she went down, unable to orient herself, and she could already feel the throbbing pain in her ankle from likely twisting it, hoping it was nothing worse than that… She yanked Aviabra down with her as she fell to the ground, the Medicham screaming at being pulled back, fearing the worst like something got her and she was done for.
”Oh no, wait, get up we can’t stop here,” Aviabra began to panic, stumbling on the muddy ground as she tried to orient herself, scrambling to stand up and help Rhienne up. Rhienne winced, taking an extra moment to adjust her glasses that had fallen off of one ear but were fortunately still on her face, ignoring for now the feeling of mud sliding down her arms… The roars of the monster seemed to be getting closer… Or more feral and ferocious, either way she knew she could stay on the ground for long. She tried to start standing, to situate herself, but her trembling hands kept slipping in the mud, she couldn’t get a clear grip on anything with her foot all the way up to the middle of her calf was sunk into a hole.
”No, no no no no no get up get up! Look out,” Aviabra screamed, desperately trying to pull Rhienne from the ground who had managed to get up on her right knee, but in that split second she had no time to react, the roars were piercing and she had the urge to cover her ears, though before she could even do that she felt the wind knocked clean out of her. She coughed as both her and Aviabra were struck by the sweeping motion of the monster’s tail, the last ditch effort for it to clear a path to get away while it had the chance. Rhienne was now out of the hole her foot was stuck in, but was now instead sprawled out on the ground in the grass and mud after having been struck and displaced by a couple of yards, the slick grass and mud making her slide along the ground. The thudding sound of its stomping feet and the growls and sharp roars started to fade into the distance, at least it sounded like she could take solace in knowing that it was gone, for now, but that was all she could take solace in.
Rhienne coughed again, curling in on herself at the throbbing pain she felt in just about the entirety of her torso at being struck by such a blunt force, and being able to note the sting of a couple of scs and scratches from sliding along the ground. Her ankle now was like a distant phantom pain in comparison, and she chose to remain still in that moment to just try and gain back some of her composure. She drew in shaking, trembling breaths, even her lungs hurt at having the wind knocked clean out of her.
”Aviabra… Are you okay…,” Rhienne asked aloud, her voice quiet as if she were afraid so draw any more attention to herself, despite everything having fallen quiet and still around them. She had to assume the monster had gone away, hopefully, for now… Then there was a cough, somewhere around her immediate area.
”I’m not dead if that’s what you’re asking,” Aviabra groaned, she too was sprawled out on the ground having been knocked across the ground by the assaulting tail, trying to get Rhienne up off of the ground. Rhienne coughed still, choosing to turn over onto her back, the mud and grass squishing beneath her shift weight, and the rain that continued to fall still, though it seemed to be waning, sprayed onto her face. She wiped the rain drops from her eyes, daring to open them now to blink and orient herself, but she wiped her eyes without the obstruction her glasses…
”Oh great…,” Rhienne sighed, her glasses had been knocked clean off of her face, into the grass around her somewhere… There would be no hope of finding them. Starting to take stock of the situation though, that was hardly a concern of hers as she sat up, a bit too quickly.
”Nara! Nara where are you,” Rhienne called out, between coughs at her sudden movement, her arms came down and wrapped back around her torso, she’d be surprised if she didn’t look like one giant walking bruise at this point. Rhienne’s ears were ringing, the silence at her call was deafening, and she could hardly see anything as she squinted without her glasses, but she could hear the soft sound of movement along the wet grass coming towards her after a moment.
”I’m here,” Nara spoke then, moving towards Rhienne after having made sure the monster made no intention of moving back towards them. Rhienne couldn’t see her very well at all, but Rhienne could hear the tired, the pain and the weariness in her voice. The tiger was in bad shape, and it was probably best that Rhienne couldn’t see her right now given the condition she was in. She was limping, her shoulders, her paws, her legs, her back, everything hurt from being thrown around and scratched and bit, it was more of a fight than the Raikou had had in her life she felt like. Her ears were slicked back, her eyes sharp, and she was panting quick breaths through her open maw, her jowls stretched back and showing her fangs. In her coal black fur, it was difficult to see, but the sheen of dark crimson was visible. Nara moved carefully towards Rhienne, minding her weight and choosing her movement carefully, eventually coming to lie down on the ground beside her, for a moment’s rest.
”I know sorry isn’t enough right now, so I won’t apologize,” Rhienne muttered after a moment, reaching out towards the large black figure she could make out in her marred vision. She felt Wattson around her too, after the Lucario had helped the young white haired girl out of harm's way and congregate with the rest of the group. Sorry wasn’t enough, sorry didn’t mean anything if she wasn’t going to do something about it, she’d brought them into this mess.
”But I will make things right. I’m going to get you help and I’m going to make sure we get off of this island,” Rhienne promised, and she meant it, she had to get them off of this island and do everything that she could to follow through with that. Wattson was getting ready to contest, Rhienne had little that she could offer in the form of widespread help to ensure that they all get to safety, he didn’t want her making hollow promises that she would then beat herself up about later, but his ears perked up and his sharp senses heard the sound of something in the distance, something small that sounded like it was calling for their attention? He looked around, starting to move in the direction of the sound, while Rhienne looked up in the general direction of a voice that was addressing her, asking if she was alright, and saying something about a doctor?
”No, not me, please if there’s something anyone can do to help Nara, I don’t have a lot of supplies, only the basics, I didn’t think we would need them…,” Rhienne stopped the woman in a bit of a panicked tone, she could make out her general figure as she looked up at her from the ground, squinting. The tiger looked up from where she lay on the ground with her pointed red eyes at the mention.
”I can wait, I just want to make sure my Pokemon are okay first,” she mentioned, though she did look to her side where Aviabra still clung to her, sitting on the ground in a puddle of wet grass.
”It’s probably a lost cause… But I need to try to find my glasses… Aviabra, can you look, for just a little bit? I’ve got my old spares… So long as they didn’t break when we got knocked over,” Rhienne sighed then, knowing the trouble of wearing glasses, she always had a back up just in case, but sometimes they really were such a hassle to keep track of… They were probably broken and scratched to nothing after being flung from her face.
Knowing that things were stable, for now, Wattson made his way over the wet grass and mud to where he saw a small figure, an Oshawott jumping up and down with another trainer in tow. At first he feared that she was injured, the way she was hunched over on the ground, but the Oshawott was happy and excited, which didn’t seem to call for alarm.
”Are you alright,” the Lucario asked aloud then, approaching the trainer and Oshawott. His senses were sharp, he was keeping an eye out for anything else that might come for them, but right now it seemed like everything was quiet…
”We’re glad to see someone else who’s alright… We should hurry down to the rest of the others, we can’t be separated, not here,” he urged though, holding out a dripping paw for the trainer to help herself up if she needed it. {Out of Party (Click)}No one {Inventory (Click)} Pokeballs

He knew Vitus would do what he could with his great weight to keep the beast away from them, but with its speed and growing rage, they were going to run out of space to keep inching away, it was imminent.
”Aye, one step at a time,” Finn muttered, rain continuing to stream down his face, and he hoped that the woman wasn’t too far off that they would be able to get to a point of safe, before it was too late. The pirate kept a steady eye on the battle, and he knew that Bade was watching what he wasn’t, looking out at Vitus who had now put himself between the beast and the group majority of them that had gathered. They needed to try and start getting away from the battle ground, even as the beast itself dripped with blood and looked as though it might be struggling, it still didn’t falter. It seemed like everything was frozen for that quick moment, waiting on bated breath to see what was going to happen, but it was just as quick a moment for everything to turn into a free for all as the beast went into a frenzied rage.
It was no longer trying to methodically hunt, it was in pure survival now as it lashed and swung at everything in the immediate area. It rushed the group of them before turning and making a wide, detrimental swing with its tail, catching the orange haired woman in its stride. Finn tried to turn to run, duck, whichever was going to come first, but as he’d tried to jump, the assaulting tail caught his feet and knocked them out from under him. He fell flat on his back, groaning at the pain of hitting the solid ground beneath him as he coughed, but as he laid there for only a moment to try and get his bearings, he wouldn’t have believed what happened next if he hadn’t seen it himself. Vitus was trying to stop the beast from striking as much as it could in this frenzy, he was trying to put himself between it and the rest of the trainers and smaller Pokemon, but as it roared again and gnashed with bloodied teeth, it lunged forward and grabbed hold of Vitus’ cannon. Vitus turned, trying to yank out of its grip, digging his heels into the ground and making sure his size and weight was known, but the leverage the beast had with its length and height, and the grip it was able to get on Vitus’ canon, it was enough for the monster to thrash and lift Vitus up off of the ground, and fling him to the side through the air. It continued on its rampage from there, but Finn was aghast and incredulous as he sat up despite his now aching and throbbing back and watched Vitus sail through the air before landing with an incredibly audible thud off to the side.
The whole rampage was over just as quick as it had started from the final stand off, and Finn waited to be sure the beast had trudged off before starting to survey the area. The woman with the orange hair had suffered a heavy blow, and was being propped up by the Toxicroak that she had with her, while her two smaller Pokemon, one of the Turtwig included, busied around her. Everyone started to gather, asking if everyone was alright and exchanging groans of pain and declarations of injuries when the other older woman he had found earlier that day came up to ask if he was alright.
”Nothing like a good blow to the back to make you appreciate a single breath, aye,” the pirate replied, his green eyes winced as he made a careful attempt to stand up straight. At this point, he was certain Osilvey was still hiding as he’d told him to, so the pirate started to make his way over towards Vitus who had made a bit of a crater in the ground.
”We’re not about to keel over, not yet. Tend to the others first,” Finn offered, abstaining from any sort of ‘medical attention’ that was being offered. As much as he was trying to make amends with what he was and what had happened to him, medical attention was just the kind of thing that would be a sore and sorry reminder, and right now just wasn’t the time or place with others who might require more attention. He would come back to the group, staying together was the most important thing right now, but he needed to get Vitus first and make sure the old turtle wasn’t done in.
”Vitus, didn’t know you could fly mate,” Finn voiced, wiping water from his face and hair with a sandy tan hand, trudging over the mud and grass to get to his partner. His voice was a bit hoarse from taking the flat fall that he did, and he moved a bit stiffly, but he gave his jest all the same in spite of their current situation. The two of them together had been through so much and far worse than taking a nasty fall each, he’d be damned if anything other than Bade herself could do Vitus in. He looked on, finding the ground sunk in and indented a great deal by the impact of Vitus’ weight, and the water type had tucked into his shell entirely upon reaching max altitude. He didn’t stir at first, but at Finn’s bootsteps coming towards him, the great shell began to shuffle a bit as Vitus emerged.
”Nor did I. Guess you can teach an old dog new tricks,” he groaned, his voice gruff and in pain, as he too had essentially landed on his back and took a heavy hit. He was settled with his belly up as he started to emerge from his shell, and realizing this he let his head hang back a bit in a sigh of discontent. No tortoise no matter how big, old, or experienced liked having to try and right themselves this way.
”Come on, up with you. No time to feel sorry for yourself,” Finn said, stepping into the crater of grass and mud that his shell had created, and he leaned in with a shoulder up against Vitus’ figure to try and start getting the Blastoise up right. This wasn’t the first time the water type had ended up in this compromising position, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last he could imagine as he started to push up under the curve of his shell, and Vitus began to rock himself with his weight back and forth to get momentum going. They did typically have help, Scarux was a good bit of muscle that they could rely on, but given enough momentum and using his cannon to gain some leverage, they eventually tipped Vitus over and he could touch all four of his limbs to the ground. The great tortoise sighed, steadying himself as he made sure he was stable on all fours before he stood up to his full height, lumbering out of the crater of his making.
Having done well to hide and stay out of the way just like Finn said, Osilvey was still skimming around in the wet grass to play hide and seek, and stay away from the monster. There was a lot of roaring, and a lot of shouting, and Osilvey couldn’t exactly see what was going on, but he didn’t hear Finn call to him, so that meant he needed to keep following orders. Everything got quiet then after a couple of moments, and he could hear people talking and it sounded like the monster was gone, so that meant the game was over and he won!
The little water skipper emerged from the grass, looking around and not immediately seeing Finn, but what he did hear was that someone needed to find something called glasses, and they were lost? He looked around, and saw the tall human that Turtwig said was his human, and he found Turtwig soon after as he bounded up to him.
”Turtwig! We need to find something called glasses, one of the humans said we need to find them, it sounds like another game,” the Mudkip said, he was super interested in playing another game, it sounded like fun!
Both Finn and Vitus trudged over the grass and mud now, moving back towards the others to regroup and start considering their options. At no point did it sound like there were any sort of search and rescue motions going on, no announcements that could be heard over the address system, nothing that gave any indication that they were being looked for and would be able to get back to civilization… The orange haired woman, the one that was being referred to as their doctor, was still on the ground, and Finn worried that given what they’d already gone through, crashing that machine before and getting rammed by one of the larger Pokemon, that in addition to getting swiped by the beast’s tail, she could be very hurt. Finn left Vitus’ side and while the others were assessing their conditions, he returned to her and her Toxicroak.
”Do you need help too? We’re all trying to survive together, assistance goes both ways,” Finn offered, whether it be he help stand her up, maybe Vitus could support her or carry her on a shoulder so she could sit, there was no point in just trying to look out for himself if they all intended to get off of this island together. He stopped though, in his gesture of reaching out a sandy tan hand to help, when there was a sound that caught the attention of the entire island it seemed. It felt like it should have been loud, deafening, with the way that it carried over the trees and the grass, echoing across every inch of the surrounding area, but while he didn’t feel the need to cover his ears, he definitely felt the need to stop everything that he was doing. The sound was like an impact of some kind? Or, well, he didn’t even know what it sounded like really, but even after the initial burst of it the sound echoed and bounced around for moments before before falling still…
”What was that,” he questioned, almost in a whisper, he couldn’t imagine what would make such an imposing, all encompassing noise like that…

Finally wiping her nose with a sleeve and giving a huge, nasty sniffle-snort, Velvet took the Lucario's offered.. hand-paw, and let him help her up. "Thank you very much.." she said, still shivering with sobs. She was so, so relieved to find other people. Oshawott, dancing around in little circles at her feet, was glad to see her trainer up again, and leaped up into her arms with a happy cry. Velvet felt at least fifty times better with other living people, trainers with stronger Pokemon than she had at that, around her. It was still terrifying out here on this island, but she'd have a much better chance at surviving and making it back to continue her journey, if she still wanted to do that, with other people with more skills and strong Pokemon and more ideas.
While she was distracted by her relief, a wild Pokemon that must have thought her to be easy prey swung out from the jungle behind her and tried to attack. It was yet another big terrifying plant creature, another she didn't recognize, this one with horrifying jagged teeth in a super wide mouth and big googly eyes. Its body was just a little collection of vines growing from a big seed, and it drooled sap from its huge jaws as it loomed over Velvet.
Oshawott leapt down to fight it, whipping her scalchop off of her chest to battle.

"This is problematic." If the barrier was meant to keep the fossils in then they weren't the only ones that were just provided with the opportunity to escape. She had no way of determining the exact purpose of the barrier just by looking at it though. Without being able to examine it directly she could only assume what it was capable of doing. She really disliked how little information they had to work with. The doctor sighed and rested her head against her Toxicroak. "We should find someplace to hide for now." One aggressive carnivore had been enough to do some serious damage to them. She doubted they would be able to withstand multiple attacks. The longer they remained exposed, the more likely they would have a repeat encounter. She slipped off her glasses and did her best to clean them with her sleeve. While it wasn't much of an improvement it was significantly better than nothing. She could get a better look at the sky at any rate. As she went to look up again she caught sight of something moving in the water. A large fin far too similar to the creature they had just fought off had emerged nearby. "Wonderful." She grumbled. Rather than warning the others, she dug a Pokeball out of her things and waited for the fossil to find its way closer to shore. She wanted to avoid another fight if possible and at that point she really couldn't have cared less about any rules the park might have against capturing the wildlife.
Elfana handed the ball off to Kiro and gestured towards the fin. "As soon as you get a clear shot, throw it." Kiro looked between his trainer and the water. Everything about this idea was awful...and he was going to follow through with it anyway. He adjusted himself so his trainer could rest against him without the added support of his arm. As soon as the Suchorensis was close to the shore Kiro through the Pokeball. The fossil was lucky it didn't land straight in the water. He fully expected the Pokemon to pop right back out. When it didn't he croaked and looked to the doctor. Leaving her alone wasn't an option for him. Since the fossil was clearly stuck he could send one of the smaller Pokemon instead. "Oryx." The Rufflet chirped as soon as he heard his name. "Retrieve that, please. Before the water takes it." Though he wouldn't be upset if the water took the fossil away. The Rufflet flew off to collect their new "friend".

Elemental Paradisity Mocha Elfy Leader Clemont After the fear and excitement was over, and the adrenaline had warn off, it appeared that the doctor herself appeared to be the most injured. But in due time everyone appear to be at least no in any grave danger. Now that he could take stock of the trainers, it was clear that he hadn't faced any of them in a gym battle, but clearly they were all very tough trainers. He returned his Heliolisk not wanting to attract any unwanted attention with his Pokemon, and was ready to try and move on with the trainers. Everyone began to pull themselves together as the burst happened. He looked at the ground and trees around him trying to locate what mechanical device could make that noise or surge. Elfana was the first to comment one what it was, and the blonde gym leader look sky ward, and saw the growing circle in the sky. Even with his glasses he couldn't see as closely as he would have liked. Normally just a snap of his fingers, and his pack would pull out what ever he wanted, but with it having been broken he was left to dig for the spy glass he had. He pulled it out as quick as he could and looked skyward to see closer as to what the barrier was. Elfana was quick to decide that this was a barrier to keep the fossils in, assuming one final fail safe if they got loose. Which it was a very logical conclusion. "It appears to be psychically powered? Well, that would be extremely difficult to maintain at this size... Maybe just very powerful electrical generator... It's hard to tell." Clemont admitted, thinking out loud. He would have no way of really knowing without seeing the machine that created the barrier. "But I believe she has the right idea. I think we might want to look into hiding for safety. Surely the park has some form of emergency rescue team on the search for us." Meanwhile, Turtwig had now stayed close to his Mudkip friend now that Cypress told him to stay, and Pant was with his trainer. He hadn't been paying much attention to anyone else but watching Cypress, so he hadn't hear anything until Osilvey commented on finding glasses. "Glasses? oh, I know those!" He said, distracted from his previous worries. "Cypress doesn't wear them, but I know them! I can help you look!" He agreed with a nod, and began to start looking around the ground for glasses laying around. "They are circles, and they are like little windows for your eyes that help you see! Like he's wearing!" Turtwig helped explain to Osilvey, since it sounded like he wasn't too sure on what they were. He wanted to try and help his friend with the game! He continued to look around the muddy ground, not caring too much at the amount of mud he was collecting on himself. Even hopping in one if it looked right so often. As he did, he spotted a tall blue Pokemon looking around. "Are you playing the game to? Looking for glasses?" He asked her, as he turned his attention back to the ground. Liz tried grabbing a rock while Growlithe kept pushing her around to get out of Chasmocera's path. throwing the smooth Pokeball she had grasped by accident. This time, at least, she realized she was doing something different and followed through. If it got caught, it wouldn't attack them anymore! Not only did it work, but she paused when she heard the tone of the Pokeball successfully securing its target. "W-wait...what did I--Linnette? What was that!?" She cried out, realizing she had just blindly caught a Pokemon without a word about what she was facing. She was going to have to try it out later! Maybe it could help them escape this place!

They were trying to recoup, the last thing they needed was for something to come and find them in an attempt to start picking off the weak links, the stragglers that got separated from the pack, they were sitting ducklet as far as he was concerned right now. Helping her stand, it seemed the other trainer was alright, she heaved with sobs and heavy breaths, and the Lucario couldn’t blame her.
”We’ll be alright, as long as we stick together,” he tried to encourage, though he wasn’t sure how much it was worth right now given their current predicament. He made sure she was stable and standing before beginning to move, but he froze and stopped, his fur standing on end as he looked up at the sky, finding a hole blazing and cracking through the very clouds it seemed like after a booming noise echoed across the entire island… There was no telling what that was, what that meant, but whatever it was he wasn’t trying to stick around and find out. They needed to regroup and figure out a plan. The girl’s Oshawott was elated, and perhaps a little too over excited, maybe not completely privy to what was going on around it, when a Carnivine came from a section of trees off to the side. Wattson was holding the girl’s hand in his paw, he didn’t move to attack immediately as he pushed the trainer behind him, instead the Oshawott did first and attacked… With a flurry of ice…?
”Your Oshawott just used an attack,” Wattson stammered, all this time they’d been inhibited, was it really true? He looked up at the sky, the crackling and fizzling was fading, there was nothing above them except for gray clouds again… It couldn’t be? He lifted his free paw, and his fur began to grow cold and coat in ice since he was able to use Ice Punch as an attack…
”That was some kind of force field? That was how they were able to inhibit our attacks,” he thought aloud, but his ears fell at the grave realization of what this meant… If he and the Oshawott could use their attacks…
”Oh no… We have to hurry, we have to get to the others, now,” Wattson urged, moving with haste now and dragging the trainer with him to get back to the others.
Down the way with the rest of the trainers, it seemed like there just wasn’t time for them to take stock of the situation and look at what kind of healing implements they had available together. Rhienne trembled on the ground, both in pain and anxiety at hoping that Nara would be alright, but if there wasn’t any time to help her now, the best thing was for her to rest in her Pokeball. Rhienne returned the tiger for the time being while Aviabra had moved to search for her glasses, and was approached by two smaller Pokemon.
”Game? Oh, uh yeah, yeah totally we’re playing a game,” Aviabra stumbled for a moment, but she could tell the two Pokemon were young, why would she ruin their fun?
”Yeah we’re looking for glasses, and there’s a prize for whoever finds them first! We gotta hurry though, we’re running out of game time,” the Medicham smiled, thankful for the help and knowing that if she urged them to ‘play’ faster, maybe they could find Rhienne’s glasses. She was pretty useless without them, she and Wattson would have to carry her if they couldn’t find them, hopefully her backup pair was alright if that’s what they needed to do…
Steeling herself, knowing that fairly soon they were probably going to try and find somewhere to hide, or start moving in a direction that wasn’t here, Rhienne’s ears perked up at the feeling of Wattson rushing towards them in the distance. Wait… The feeling? She could feel Wattson, she could feel him there, his aura, it was like they were connected again, but that couldn’t be… She turned to look, in what was his general direction, being able to sense him now, and in that brief moment she hadn’t realized just how much she missed that, how much she missed… Him… They’d been at odds for such a long time now, ever since she’d come back into contact with her ancestry… Not being able to feel him on this island was like if he were really gone, and thank goodness he hadn’t left, but that wasn’t to say he wouldn’t… Rhienne was a little overwhelmed by this sudden onslaught of emotion outside of the survival she’d been stuck in through the course of the day, she hadn’t quite realized the urgency and the distress in his aura.
”Rhienne,” the Lucario called then, moving towards the group, trying to get anyone’s attention, everyone’s attention.
”Everyone, we need to hurry. Whatever that was, in the sky, that was inhibiting our abilities,” Wattson called out, and he held up his paw to show glowing energy as it began to frost over with the power of an Ice Punch attack, it was true.
”Powers are back on?! Yes! What do we need to hurry for, this is great,” Aviabra spoke up then, celebrating the fact that she could probably punch clean through a boulder again.
”Because, if we have our powers back, that means so does everything else…,” the Lucario cautioned, he couldn’t imagine what that giant Pokemon would have been capable of if it had powers of whatever kind it was supposed to, it was already powerful enough, how much more powerful would it be now…?

She had taken quite the hit, and while he back ached and his lungs burned with each full breath he tried to take at having had the wind knocked clean out of him, he was alright enough to start to offer aid. Mortality aside, he had taken worse before from the masts on his ship or the beating of disobeying orders, he would be alright given time to push past the throbbing of his muscles.
”A barrier? Seems like an awful lot of trouble, maybe they weren’t concerned about keeping things in, but keeping others out? Think about the technology that’s on this island, how valuable these Pokemon are, I wouldn’t be surprised if this placed had a hefty target plastered across it for hunters, poachers, and other picaroons looking for a score,” Finn commented, at this point the last of the ‘barrier’ had fizzled to nothing, and the sky was left overcast and gray again as though nothing had happened.
Paying little mind to the noise that shook the island, thinking nothing more than cannon fire which was something he was overtly familiar with, Osilvey was enthralled at the new game he and Turtwig were playing. The grass type explained what glasses were, pointing to one of the humans that had two round shapes on his face.
”Little windows for your eyes? It’s a telescope that you can wear,” Osilvey questioned, pondering the functionality of such a device. He didn’t know what glasses were for, but to look through something like a window for your eyes, but not a window, that sounded like a Telescope? But why would a human need to wear telescopes for? Nevermind his questions, when Turtwig asked another Pokemon if they were looking for the glasses too, she said that there was a prize!
”Oh oh! If we find them together I bet we can share the prize, come on Turtwig,” Osilvey spoke then, padding around the muddy grass in search of the little telescopes, he definitely wanted the prize, and she said they had to hurry!
Looking around, starting to wonder what their next best course of action was, noting that there was still movement in the area around them and they surely couldn’t stay in one place for too much longer, Finn looked as one of the Pokemon that belonged to another trainer called out to them all, telling them to hurry, showing its paw covered in frost, stating the barrier was for their powers…
”I felt a shift, when that hole in the sky broke, it is true Phineas, I feel my full power, I can see beyond your eyes now,” the wyvern confirmed behind his eyes, and the Lucario spoke too of the most grave part of the Pokemon’s powers returning… There was no telling what everything else on this island was capable of now…
”Aye, there’s no time to waste then,” Finn spoke then, holding firm still for the orange haired woman beside him, making sure he could maintain her assisted weight.
”We can’t wait for a rescue effort, we don’t even know if there is one,” the pirate said, looking to the gym leader that was on this venture with them, if they stopped to hide now, he was certain more than a rescue effort would find them.
”Vitus, bear your cannons, we’re on the offensive now, we need to get back to the civilization of the island, and gather anyone else that we can manage to find,” Finn spoke out then, and while it was meant as a suggestion, it was more of a decision, he himself wasn’t going to sit and wait for something to happen when they couldn’t know that anything would happen for sure, they needed to fight for their own survival, and that meant doing what they could to get back to the main part of the island.
It seemed that the impact of the forcefield breaking over the island was enough to cause quite a stir, as more Pokemon started to move through the area, and more Pokemon that probably didn’t belong in this area or had made it further than they would have before. There was no telling what kind of damage had been done to the infrastructure of the island as a whole, fences and gates were probably broken, and other such contaminants were probably for not at this point, and that was proven as there was a bellow in the near distance followed by a hiss of a call that Finn could say he at least recognized. He made out the figure of a Drapion scuttling over the grass in the near distance, in pursuit of something, and to say that the pirate wasn’t intrigued was an understatement.
”By all the powers that be,” he said, looking on in wonder, he could swear he was looking upon an actual Chasmocera. The museum on Alto Mare had many artifacts, stories, parts of history, and fossils especially, studies on them and what they would have looked like. His parents as curators had access to much more information that wasn’t on display but always had to be tended to, and young Finn was always along with them, gathering any bit of knowledge on anything he could get his hands on. In the same way that a child is enthralled with race cars or airplanes, Finn was fascinated with fossils. He’d learned of what fossils were known today, by various laboratories across the world that were able to reanimate the species they managed to find, but he remembered one species in particular that had piqued his interest that there was no such study on, the Chasmocera. He had just been fascinated by their brilliant horns, for no other reason really than it just looked really cool and he’d wondered what they would be like if he ever got to see one, and there he was, standing there watching one hobble across the grass. It was like he was a child in that moment, back in the archives of his parent’s work.
The Chasmocera seemed to be in distress, it was favoring one leg as it ran from the Drapion, and if Finn had to imagine, the poison type probably got the Chasmocera with it’s stinger now that it was capable of secreting poison and was looking for a larger meal than it might have been able to scrounge up before.
”Kiro, was it,” Finn questioned then, he was certain he’d heard the orange haired woman refer to the Toxicroak as such if memory served.
”Allow me this moment, and I will return,” he pressed, gently relinquishing her weight from himself, only temporarily he had every intention on coming back, but first.
”Vitus, cannons at the ready,” the pirate called, and the tortoise took aim at the Drapion. Knowing that their powers were back and functioning, the Blastoise was ready to regain his status after having been flung from the battle before, and he didn’t hesitate to fire at full power from his main cannon. The Drapion was knocked clean off of its feet as the Chasmocera continued to run, and while Finn knew the water type could finish the assaulting poison, type, he moved towards the Chasmocera.
It was injured, and there was no telling how far along the poison was, but Finn could tell that’s what had happened as the gash in its leg was discolored and oozing with the offending substance. The Pokemon had to stop and breathe, standing on only its three legs then to try and alleviate some of the pain, but as Finn approached it bellowed again and turned to face him with its horns.
”Phineas, what are you thinking, you can’t just run up to a Pokemon like this,” Bade scorned, but he wasn’t listening, he was just far too fascinated in being this close to what he had only seen in history pages, it was truly like he was the explorer and discoverer that his young self always wanted to be.
”Aye, I mean no harm,” he said then, slowing himself as he kept his voice low and smooth, and he held out his arms and his hands in a show of letting the Pokemon know it could watch his every move. The Chasmocera snuffed and huffed, swaying its head from side to side, displaying its very prominent horns and the frilled crest, the way it would to potentially deter an attacker.
”I don’t have much, but I can see that you’re hurt. I can help you,” he spoke calmly, he could figure the Chasmocera had no inclination of what he was saying, but if he could at least show that he was trying to help. He didn’t have many healing implements, he had something basic that could at elast take the sting of the poison away for the time being, but he did want to get it taken care of properly.
”Approach carefully, it may let you,” Bade spoke then, watching carefully, reaching out to the Pokemon to try and ease its distress so that Finn might have his opportunity. He moved slowly and carefully, and reached out with one arm as he held onto a spray he had from his pack. He didn’t get too close still, but he sprayed the Chasmocera’s leg the best that he could, using the entire bottle. It wasn’t a complete fix, maybe only temporary relief, but the Chasmocera already felt a difference as it lowered its leg, and huffed again at distributing its weight more evenly.
”That’s it. You’re weak right now, you need to rest,” Finn soothed, reaching again for one more implement.
”Phineas, no, this is wrong and you know it,” the wyvern chided, sifting through Finn’s thoughts on capturing the Pokemon before him.
”This is the only environment it knows, the only environment they belong to. You can’t bring this Pokemon out into the rest of the world, it was never meant to exist there,” Bade said, she could understand his wonderment, but surely he could let go of his childhood impulse to understand that this thing had no place in the rest of the world.
”You and I both know that these humans aren’t going to take care of this place given what’s happened. These Pokemon are going to be hunted, poached, sold to the highest bidders, and who knows what will happen to them then,” the pirate said, he couldn’t know for sure that the island would fall into complete disarray after this day, but word will get out one way or another that the facilities are down and what exists on this island will be made public, and he had to imagine that given how valuable what exists here is, it would only be a matter of time.
”There is no morality here, nothing about this place was ever going to be right or good. If I can save at least one of these creatures from the cruelty to follow, that’s what I’m doing,” he finished, and that was that.

It was like the gathered people were attracting the attention of the wild Pokemon in the area. As soon as Velvet started off to see if she could help anyone, or if anyone could help her, specifically to heal some of her team up again, a huge brown Pokemon with insect-like plating and a huge head came bolting out of the forest and went straight for her. Lucky for her, Oshawott was on it!
The Pokemon was quite Icy Wind-happy lately, but it seemed that the Quick Claw item that she'd been carrying around was.. almost like a good-luck charm. She had only lost a few battles since picking it up, and she got fiercer and more confident with each fight. This one was no different. The bug-like Pokemon, a Kabutops, Velvet would later learn from her Pokedex, was handily defeated by the attacks. Normally, Velvet learned, the Pokemon was a Water- and Rock-type, but here on Discovery Island they'd restored it to its original pure Grass typing. It would be more interesting if she didn't hate every moment of being on the island after everything started going down.

Once she'd captured the Kabutops, which at the time
she didn't even know the name of, just figured it was worth hucking a
Ball at just in case, Velvet quickly rushed over to the rest of the
group, hoping to get away from the woods' edge a bit and avoid being
attacked again.
"Hey, uh.. So, my Pokemon are
getting really tired, I found some healing items, but does anyone have
anything that can Revive? My poor Applin went down after protecting us
earlier, and I just want him back up, just in case.." She nervously eyed
the woods, jumping at pretty much every little sound of bugs, cracking
branches, bird calls, rustling, anything that could be yet another
Pokemon coming to attack. Though her Oshawott was lucky, apparently, and
she was quite lucky to have her Oshawott, she was worried that luck
might run out sooner or later.
Unfortunately, her Oshawott was also prone to wandering, and hadn't noticed her trainer walking in toward the other trainers, and so the small otter Pokemon was still by the jungle's edge, listening out into the gloom. A strange blue Pokemon exited the jungle and loomed over her, looking annoyed that she was standing between it and the people it was, presumably, wanting to go after. The scalchop was pulled from her chest with an audible 'shing!' as Oshawott prepared to keep fighting.
Wild Pupitar appeared! Oshawott used Water Gun! Water Gun did x4 damage!
Pupitar was defeated!

Oshawott looked back to see if Velvet saw that she just beat up that big.. blue.. whatever it was that had just come out of the woods, but Velvet was with the other people, looking like she was pretty relieved to be with others of her kind. Oshawott tilted her head, then started to cry out, hopping up into the air and waving her stubby little arms, but Velvet didn't turn around.
The Pokemon looked upset and stopped hopping; she looked about at the other Pokemon, but they all seemed preoccupied with their own things. Some of them were on the hunt for something called 'glasses', a few were.. talking with the humans? How did they do that? Amazing. Oshawott was fascinated by the idea of being able to talk to people as well as to other Pokemon and started toward the tall blue dog-like Pokemon, which she might later find out was called Lucario, and she didn't notice another creature sneaking up nearby until it tried to attack her. Her reflexes were good enough that she deflected its first blow, but she'd have to fight again! Good thing she loved fighting.
Wild Carnivine appeared! Oshawott used Icy Wind! Carnivine (70/180) used Growth! Oshawott used Icy Wind! Carnivine was defeated!

Velvet finally realized that her Oshawott wasn't standing with her, and she turned to call for her. Oshawott heard her trainer call and yelled up, "Osha wosh!!", making her way toward her. A wild Pokemon bounced out of the jungle, all brown with five points like stars, and rolled to a stop in between Velvet and Oshawott. Without even asking, Oshawott knew to beat it up.
The stony Pokemon broke apart to reveal a pretty, deep blue color beneath its rocky shell after Oshawott hit it with a particularly powerful Water Gun, and she paused to admire it long enough that it smacked into her with a Swift attack. Once it was defeated, Velvet managed to catch it with two Poke Balls and add it to her party; it was very interesting to look at and she was curious about it, and it hadn't seemed as aggressive as some of the other Pokemon that they'd encountered out here.
A level 21 Minior appeared! Oshawott used Water Gun! Minior's Shields Down activated! Changed to Core Form!

【 ＯＵＴＦＩＴ┃ Light weight green tank top, dark green shorts, and hiking boots.┃ ＬＯＣＡＴＩＯＮ | In the Pokecenter | ＷＩＴＨ┃ Elfana, Finn, Rhienne, and Velvet ┃ ＴＵＮＥ ┃ In the woods somewhere】 Everything seemed to be coming together and quickly. Cypress returned back to the group as the pirate was helping Elfana back up and they started making moves. A short young woman had joined the group as well, well young to her at least. and it seemed that the group was at least on their feet to some degree. Cypress was feeling a bit better at their situation. At least until the Lucario called out and informed everyone that abilities were back on. There was no momentary optimism like the Medicham had. Cypress knew that this was bad and they were in danger. But if that meant that they had their abilities back on, she needed to heal up Wyatt the best of her abilities. Turtwig and Nincada were not full on battle ready like he is. Just so she didn't disrupt the group, she shifted out of the immediate area and released Wyatt again, who groaned in response. "Oh stop it, you're fine, I just need to heal you up. A barrier went down, and now your abilities are back on." She explained as she began to dig out a few potions. "Oh, well that's good. It'll be easier to keep them at bay." Wyatt explained calmly. Cypress began to hose the tree down with multiple potions. "Yeah, but who knows what kind of primal attacks these things have. I don't want to run into one of those giant things again." Cypress explained as she continued to over do the potion. As she did there was a huff behind her. The brunette jumped and looked back to see a Bastiodon. Of course, fossils were here too. Wyatt was quick as he let out a flamethrower from his tail head, to which Cypress didn't give it a moment, she just tossed a Pokeball and captured the Bastiodon. "Cypress!" Wyatt called out, scolding the grown woman. "What? They let these things get out and nearly kill us. I can at least catch these Pokemon and bring them to a safer area. " She shrugged.
Turtwig was none the wiser when it came to what was happening with Cypress. He was too focused on the new game at hand. Nincada was riding on his back, but which his bad eye sight he was no help. His new friend seemed to understand the idea of glasses now, calling them little telescopes. He nodded as the Medicham agreed it was a game, and now stated that there was a prize. He gasped and looked to his new friend. "Oh I bet it's the best prize! Yeah, we can share it!" Turtwig exclaimed as he ran off and began searching the brush with the little Mudkip. Rhienne was left to herself then, sitting in the wet grass, hair strewn around her shoulders in sleek ribbons, cursing herself for letting Nara get injured and wincing at each motion she made with her throbbing ankle. She knew Aviabra was going to continue to look for her glasses, and while that was preferred, she did rummage through her bag to see how terrible her back up pair was now. Pulling them out, they were pretty bent, but with a little fumbling she managed to at least fit them on the bridge of her nose. Their bent angle was a little disorienting, and they were scratched up pretty good, but they were probably no better off than her glasses in the grass were, though they were an older prescription. She sighed, glancing around, it looked like everyone was still trying to take stock of their situation, though she could swear she heard someone say they should get ready to move on… Then the hair on her arms and the back of her neck stood up straight.
Freezing where she sat, Rhienne’s senses prickled and the fur on her ears bristled as she felt a sharp, poignant energy, something that was inherently… Out of place. She looked around first, no one else seemed to have any reaction to anything other than what they were already occupied with, not even Aviabra or Wattson paid any mind to anything… But Rhienne knew there was something directed at her, something she could feel was around, and it felt like an energy that wouldn’t have been attributed to a fossil or other monstrous creature that was put on this island…
”Demon,” a voice hissed, and Rhienne’s ears shot straight up, her senses were on full alert now. Again, no one else seemed to react, it was as if the voice was only for her to hear, and she could now feel the intrusion on her consciousness, especially knowing that Absolem wasn’t there… He was her buffer, her shield, like a firewall that made sure nothing got in that shouldn’t or he didn’t want. For better or for worse, she wouldn’t know if there were things that he was keeping from her, but she trusted him, and learned from him. She knew that one’s mind was a powerful force, and it was important to not open one’s self up to intrusions. The witch did well to reign herself in, it had caught her off guard, whatever this was. It was powerful, but chaotic and uncontrolled, and she knew that if she didn’t keep herself in check that it was likely it could do some real damage. She pushed back at the energy she could feel, the pointed connection that this power was making, though she still couldn’t see anything amiss, and no one else had any notion that something was in their vicinity.
”Demon,” the voice hissed again, and she couldn’t imagine why something was calling her a demon? Or was it saying that there was a demon? She looked around, carefully opening her mind just a little bit, focusing on the energy, and she turned to look at the tree line where the gym leader Clemont had run towards.
”Where are you,” Rhienne questioned, straining to see through her old glasses, it was so overcast and gray, and the tree canopies were so thick, she couldn’t very well see anything from where she was.
”Demon,” came the same hiss, even in answer to her question, that seemed a bit strange… Still though, against her better judgment, Rhienne couldn’t stand by and not investigate what was capable of this power. While it was definitely a force to be reckoned with, and it was definitely a bit painful upon her pushing back with her own capabilities, she didn’t feel that this power was attacking her.. At least not yet. It was reaching out to her, and if she didn’t know better, maybe it was reaching out to her because she felt similar to whatever this thing was? She couldn’t know, she didn’t even know what on this island would be capable of psychic power… But she was going to find out. Wattson and Aviabra were occupied, she knew that Wattson wouldn’t let her go investigate if he knew what was going on, so she was going to quietly do this on her own, for the moment. Though, it would be a little slow going. Moving on the ground, she gritted her teeth and winced at her throbbing ankle, but so long as it wasn’t broken, she could just work on walking it off. She would have to, with Nara out of commission for the time being, she couldn’t be a hindrance to the group trying to move on and get going. She struggled to stand for a moment, easing herself up and pushing herself up with her arms, until she managed to stand up straight and balance on her good leg. She was definitely hobbling, and as she tried to put weight on her bad ankle she gasped at the stinging pain, but limping was better than not being able to move at all, so off she went.
Easing her way towards the tree line, limping with sharp pain in each step, Rhienne took a moment to rest against a tree as she kind of fell into it. She was heaving breaths, her torso still hurt at the blunt hit she had taken with that monster’s tail, but darn it if she was going to hold everyone else back because she got hit when everyone else did too. Steeling herself against the tree, Rhienne stood up straighter again to continue, feeling that energy still, it hadn’t left her.
”Demon,” the voice continued, repeating the word without anything else said in between, and it was curious as to why…
”Where are you? Show yourself,” Rhienne questioned, fully within the trees now, and choosing her steps carefully. She couldn’t go too far, she would have to be able to make it back towards Aviabra and Wattson, and the rest of the group. There was no answer, but Rhienne could swear she felt something watching her, the power growing stronger, possibly from proximity…?
”I’m not a demon, are you,” she asked then, and she could swear she heard something rush through the trees, along the grass.
”Demon,” came the voice again, a bit more forceful, maybe even angry, was it upset that she asked if it was a demon…? She would be too, she didn’t quite like the choice words that some would use to describe her.
”Okay, you’re not a demon either. So why do you keep saying it,” Rhienne continued, slowly moving through the trees, pushing herself off of one tree trunk to the next, trying to leverage that against using her bad ankle. All of her senses were on high alert, whatever this thing was, it had to be close, she could just feel it the way her fur bristled, and even the ring on her finger sparked, she was using all of her mental strength to balance her own mind against the uncontrolled chaos, the raw power that was pointed directly at her. She was trying to look through the tree trunks, surveying the area around her, her glasses sucked, and she couldn’t see very well anyway in the shadows and shade of the clouds and trees… Which is what caused her to trip over a tree root. She gave a short scream, falling to the ground, she caught herself with her hands to avoid fully falling into the mud, but only just. She coughed at the pain, everything was sore and she cursed the imbalance of having an injured ankle. She pushed her knees beneath her, grumbling about tripping and tossing her hair to the side when she looked up, and was immediately met with bared fangs and piercing blue eyes, not inches from her face.
Gasping, and pushing herself backwards, now onto her rear with her arms behind her, Rhienne understood the gravity of the mistake she’d made in coming into the trees… She tried to reach out to find Wattson or Aviabra, but she couldn’t, the power that had targeted her was too overwhelming for her to push past it in her panicked state… She stared on, daring not to move, looking at the creature in front of her, open maw of razor fangs, claws poised, it was hunched on its two legs and its shoulders squared directly at her, clearly ready to strike… But it didn’t? She stared back at its piercing blue eyes, the energy was nearly too much for her to bear, but… No, it couldn’t be?
”You? It’s you,” Rhienne spoke then at the forefront of her consciousness, never breaking eye contact.
”Demon,” the same voice hissed, and while the creature in front of her did not blink, it shifted its weight, taking one step forward.
”You’re a psychic type… Wait… I remember that info panel… Prediensis, that’s what you are,” Rhienne recalled, the informational panel that was part of the tour guide for the rolling spheres. She remembered clicking on it, but it wouldn’t say what type the species was or what it was capable of, and maybe that was for good reason….
”Demon,” the Prediensis repeated, still unmoving in front of her, and for now that was all she could hope for… Even though it hadn’t attacked yet, that didn’t mean it wouldn’t… She tried to think of what that info panel said, they were hunters… Fast on their two legs… She couldn’t remember anything of value, nothing that made her feel less stupid for separating herself from the group. And of course there was no info about it being a psychic type and what they were capable of because… Because of that barrier…
”You're discovering your powers for the first time, aren’t you? You’re a psychic type that doesn’t know how to handle being a psychic type,” Rhienne commented then, understanding now why the energy had felt so chaotic and raw, because it was all being unfurled at once. It still did not move, but watched her carefully, and for a moment Rhienne could swear it almost looked contemplative, like it was thinking about what she was saying.
”If you’re a psychic type, I know you’re intelligent, and I know you can understand me on a level that isn’t natural to you yet,” Rhienne said then. She had hardly any experience dealing with a wild creature and understanding its most native, base, natural instincts, but she did know how to handle a psychic type Pokemon. Emotions and her own mental state were very important now, and she focused intently on calming herself and evening out her consciousness, pushing back against the Prediensis. It’s jowls twitched, this was all unfamiliar territory, but even without knowing that it had these capabilities in the first place, the intuition was always going to be there.
”I am not your enemy, and since you haven’t attacked me yet, I know you don’t see me as prey,” Rhienne spoke evenly then, and she even dared to start helping herself to stand up using the tree trunk beside her. It maintained strict eye contact with her, and stood up straighter with every inch of progress she made, until she was standing up and leaned against the tree, still the Prediensis made no sudden moves, and neither did she.
”Killer,” the psychic type hissed then, with a bit more animosity in response to Rhienne’s words, but it wasn’t directed at her, it couldn’t be…
”You’ve always been intelligent. You’ve been learning and watching, listening and observing ever since you were created. Is that what they called you? A killer,” she questioned then, finally understanding. It’s psychic type capabilities might be brand new to it, but that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t always watching and listening, and maybe in a sort of toddler learning how to speak for the first time kind of way, it was repeating what it heard constantly…
”Demon,” it repeated again, and Rhienne could swear she felt the smallest, tiniest bit of hesitation? Resentment, sorrow? It was hard to tell, this was all untapped power being unleashed for the first time, but the gravity of the situation was setting in.
”People are always going to be spiteful and afraid of things that they don’t understand. You’re not a demon,” the witch returned, she could only imagine the ridicule that these creatures got for merely existing, a product of their own design and yet they spit such vitriol as calling them demons? Killers? It was deplorable. These scientists should consider themselves lucky that they had put that barrier up, they wouldn’t have been able to cope with a fully realized Prediensis.
”... Not… Demon…,” the psychic type hissed in a tone of understanding, showing only the tip of its intelligence she was sure. Perhaps at first it didn’t understand the meaning of the only word that it knew, the only one it could communicate, but now through only a little bit of word association practice, it was already learning and applying…
”No, you’re not. What you are is incredibly intelligent, and…,” Rhienne hesitated, but, why should she? No one else was ever going to understand what these things were capable of, they weren’t going to learn and aid, they were only going to grow more fearful and hateful.
”I can help you. I don’t know how much you understand about your powers yet, but you reached out to me for a reason. I know its because you could feel me, just as I feel you,” Rhienne said then, still not at any point having dropped eye contact with it’s piercing blue gaze. Again it seemed contemplative, the longer it was exposed to its true power, something as intelligent as this being was going to learn and understand rapidly given the chance, psychic powers were insatiable and constantly expanding.
”You can come with me, and no one will ever doubt your power again,” she said, and for the first time since disappearing into the trees, she felt the power start to calm and subside.
Milling about, trying to find Rhienne’s glasses in the grass, anywhere, Aviabra was starting to wonder if it was worth it… She did have two little helpers, but they didn’t know where they went and this was taking forever!
”Ugh, now I want a prize for being the one in charge of finding her glasses,” Aviabra groaned, looking down to the two smaller Pokemon.
”Hustle up guys, we gotta find the glasses before another monster comes around,” the Medicham spoke, maybe not using the best choice of words in dealing with a pair of what seemed to be younger Pokemon, but that fleeting thought was gone as soon as she was ambushed by Wattson.
”Where’s Rhienne,” the Lucario growled, teeth bared as he looked down at Aviabra. The Medicham was immediately on the defensive.
”What do you mean where’s Rhienne? She hurt her ankle, she can’t go anywhere, she’s right…,” the psychic type turned to point to exactly where Rhienne wasn’t… Instantly Aviabra panicked, frantically looking around, what if that giant Pokemon came back and snatched her right up when she wasn’t looking?
”Uh uh, uhm!!!! New game!!! First one to find my trainer gets the best prize ever,” Aviabra panicked in a shrill voice.
”You had one job, why weren’t you watching her,” Wattson growled again.
”Hey! Rhienne told me to look for her glasses, that’s two jobs,” she argued, not helping her case at all, but still defensive nonetheless.
”I can’t even feel her, her aura is shrouded or gone or…,” Wattson snarled, he should have been watching, he shouldn’t have left her alone when Nara was in need of help and Rhienne was injured… He started to sniff the air, still muddled with rain water and petrichor, but if he could just find her scent to follow it.
”Well she can’t just disappear! You shouldn’t be in charge if you lost her aura,” Aviabra argued, just trying to get another word in at Wattson’s aggression, she was just fueled by her panicked emotions, glossing over entirely that she lost Rhienne in the first place. The Lucario ignored Aviabra at this point, focusing on trying to find any trace of Rhienne, and then almost as if Rhienne’s aura was being uncovered like lifting the lid off of a serving tray of food, he could sense her.
Making her way back through the trees, now that her encounter was quelled, Rhienne immediately felt Wattson, his frustration, anger, panic, self loathing, and everything in between flooded her as she came to the tree line, and before she could even orient herself he was on her.
”Rhienne, where did you go, why couldn’t I find you,” the Lucario interrogated, his concern clear at having actually lost her in that moment.
”Oh, now we’re concerned for my well being and not kicking me for putting us in this mess,” the witch returned, it wasn’t often that she could feel all of Wattson’s emotions that way, not unless he was opening himself up that way, but in that fleeting moment… The Lucario stopped, stammering at her blatant response, but her face softened as she looked at him.
”I’m okay, I promise. I’ve missed you Wattson, you never know how much you’ll miss something until it’s gone, huh,” the witch spoke softly then, from her own realization earlier when she could feel Wattson again for the first time when the barrier broke. He’d always been there, his connection, and her him, and when that was broken, they both didn’t realize how empty they felt without it.
”Omg, you’re not dead, oh my god I thought something came and ate you while I wasn’t looking,” came Aviabra’s voice then, having run after Wattson, trailing behind him just barely.
”Ew, but wait, what is that? I know I don’t use psychic stuff much, but even I can feel that, why do you feel different,” the Medicham stopped then, in the same manner as if she had smelled something. Wattson hadn’t realized it at first, his concern was the biggest priority in that quick moment, but at Aviabra’s words the Lucario stopped too.
”She’s right… Are you alright,” Wattson asked, carefully and studiously as he looked at Rhienne closely.
”If you guys trust me, you’ll leave it be for now. There are psychic types on this island, and they are as powerful as they are potentially dangerous. We should hurry and try to figure out what us and the others are going to do,” Rhienne spoke then, she could only imagine how many Prediensis were on the island, how many of them were just now discovering their psychic type powers, and how dangerous a pack hunting, socially and psychically intelligent predator could be given that power…

Velvet heard a sudden thud and whirled toward the trees to see a big dark blue Pokemon stomping out, peeling back its mouth to show all of its teeth in a big roar. She didn't recognize this one, as she didn't recognize most of the Pokemon she didn't have herself, but it was a Gabite. Oshawott was intimidated and took a step back from the large, powerful-looking Pokemon, kicking in a protective instinct that Velvet hadn't known she had in her. "Get away from her, you brute!" Velvet snarled, reaching into her pack to snatch a Poke Ball. She threw the Quick Ball she ended up grabbing with such force that it made an audible thwack when it hit the Gabite's face, but unfortunately the ball popped right back open and the Gabite roared again. Wild Gabite level 10 appeared!

Elfana gave a small smile when her weight was shifted over to Kiro. "Thank you." She hadn't expected the pirate to support her for as long as he had and she was grateful for it. He had given her a much needed opportunity to rest a bit- though much of it had been spent lost in her own head. She leaned against Kiro and would have been perfectly content to stay where she was had she not heard something in the distance. Screaming, maybe? She stepped away from Kiro, who immediately croaked in protest. "It's fine, Kiro. I'm just going to see what that was." If she had to guess she would say a herbivore had wandered into the carnivore area and gotten itself into some trouble. Kiro could chase whatever was picking on it off but they couldn't exactly do much else for it. As she got closer to the sound she quickly realized she wasn't hearing a Pokemon. She was hearing a rather noisy red haired girl. Elfana nearly turned around and went right back to the others. If she had the energy to be loud, she was clearly fine. Only...she clearly wasn't fine. As much as the sight of her Spearow and all of the noise made Elfana desperately want to pretend otherwise, she couldn't ignore such an obvious head injury. "Lower your voice. You're only going to attract more of them to you if you continue to yell." As if to prove her point, the ground beneath her trembled slightly. She heard a Heliolisk cry out before it stumbled forward and fell flat on its face. The shaking had been centered on it. She glanced at Kiro. The Toxicroak glared at the Heliolisk until he was certain it wouldn't stand back up. It had been much too close to his trainer for comfort.
"I can't tend to your injury properly right now but I can bandage it for you if you would like." Elfana was already digging through her things for some bandages. She grabbed a simple black shirt and stored away the Pokeball that Oryx was carrying with him while she was at it. The shirt could hide some of the bruises and bleeding for the time being. After some consideration, her sling was shoved into the bag as well. She had needed to undo it to get her shirt on. The damaged arm was the least of her concerns by that point. She could replace anything too broken later. For now she was going to force it to work for her. If the girl allowed her to, Elfana would take the time to clear up her wound as best she could before bandaging it. It wasn't much but it would have to do. Around the time she finished an announcement rang out overhead.
”This… Grace… anyone who… out… survived, please… back to… entrance… Repeat… your way… to… entrance… I… meet you… to help… off… island. Get… main entrance…”
The staff finally decided to acknowledge their existence. Wasn't that nice of them? They were going to help them! Only the survivors had to do all of the work for them and get their injured selves to the entrance. Elfana really hated the people who ran the park. She took a slow, deep breath then sighed, ignoring the pain that shot through her broken ribs as a result. Given that the girl seemed to be having some difficulty seeing on her own she would have to act as a seeing eye Lillipup for her for the time being. "Oryx, fly overhead. I need to know what direction the tram is in. We can follow the rail back to the entrance." She watched her Rufflet fly off before turning her attention back to the redhead. After some debate she decided it would be faster to try to carry her than it would be to guide her. She didn't bothered waiting for permission. Her everything screamed in protest as she lifted the girl on to her back and began to move. "Ask your Pokemon to follow along beside my Toxicroak. He'll keep them safe. Also- please don't squirm. I'd prefer not to drop you." As soon as she had a direction, Elfana began to move. "One last thing, Oryx. Report back to Cypress. Ask Wyatt to translate for you. Give them the directions to the tram. It shouldn't take them long to catch up."
The Rufflet chirped before flying back in the direction they had come. He was glad to see that Wyatt was out again and he didn't have to try to get Cypress to send him out. Talking to humans was difficult! "Wyatt! Doc found a hurt person! Their head broke somehow and they can't see well so she's carrying them towards the tram! She wants to follow the rail back towards the other people!" Throughout the course of his explanation Oryx flew in circles around the tree. He wanted to get back to his trainer quickly so he was rushing his explanation. "Please tell Cypress!" The Rufflet started to fly off then came right back when he realized he hadn't actually given him any sort of direction to work with. He landed down by the head on Wyatt's tail and pointed off towards the direction his trainer had gone in. "That way!" With that Oryx was off.

"Uhh...do we know you?" Came the soft squeak of Liz's Charmander. The question was directed at Elfana herself but nothing was preventing Kiro from interpreting. Kalla was clearly a very young Pokemon. She seemed to believe that Liz must know Elfana and that's why the stranger was helping. Linnette fluttered above the group with piercing eyes. "No. Who are you? What do you think you're gonna get?" It was entirely unclear why her Spearow was so distrusting, but Linnette was plainly the aggressive one. Growlithe was also wary but her body language was such that she was anxious. Trusting something would be great, she just wasn't sure that she could. Two out of three wanting to trust Elfana wasn't bad. Two out of three poised to attack if they thought she was up to something also wasn't good, though. Kalla at least accepted that she would be no help if it came to a fight.
"So...was I hearing things? Did they say they were getting us out of here?" Liz asked, trying to turn her head before Elfana was finished with her field dressing. "I'm Liz, by the wa--oh!" The sudden rush of being hoisted up and carried had the girl immediately dazed and struggling to even understand what just happened. Elfana started moving and Liz got to just accept that outcome. Linnette winged after them the moment Liz cried out, wanting to attack but unsure how to do that and not get Liz hurt in the process. Kalla jumped and clung to Growlithe as the puppy Pokemon jogged after them quickly with a protesting yap. Elfana was helping but also she was doing things they felt she shouldn't!

They were going to win, and get the best prize ever. He trotted around the grass, and searched amongst the brush. But as the Medicham told him to hurry up before more monsters came around, he let out a gasp and began running around the area much quicker. "I didn't know there was going to be more monsters!" He cried as he rushed through the area. Taking just a moment to glance at the Mudkip wearily. But as he turned back something caught his eye. He looked over and spotted something round... and made of glass... That was them! Turtwig ran over and scooped up the glasses on his face and turned around and popped up out of the brush with the glasses on his face. Turtwig walked up to the trainer while she spoke with her Pokemon, not really understanding the nature of the conversation. But once there seemed to be a break, he tapped her shoe and looked up to her happily that he found her glasses.
Cypress had just found herself a Bastiodon. What she would do with it, she had no idea. Maybe they would eventually find a staff member but at this point that seemed unlikely. But their luck may be turning around as a familiar, but fuzzy, voice rang out over head. Grace was watching to get them off the island. They just need to get back to the main hub. Great, they were the farthest they could be from the main hub. But shortly after Onyx explained their exit path they found. Luckily for the tree, he had heads all around the top part of his tree so he was able to keep his eyes on the bird, and then off he when after a few vague directions, but they were just enough for him to figure out. After relaying this to Cypress, she made her way back to the main of the group. Elfana had left to help someone, she couldn't begin off without warning everyone. "Hey guys," She called out into the clearing as loud as she dared. "Elfana, the Doc, found a fairly direct way out of the forests and towards the main hub area." She explained. She made a large gesture with her arms to point where she was headed. "Just follow the walking tree." She announced as she began to make her way. Cypress didn't run, and obviously waited for Turtwig and Nincada to catch up with her. But she was moving pretty quickly through the wilderness. She wasn't about to be left behind. Quinn and her team made it to the carnivore sanctuary soon enough. It didn’t look noticeably different than the herbivore section and was therefore also heavily wooded. There were occasional roars in the distance, though where they came from exactly was hard to discern besides someplace in the distance. Quinn slowed the car down a bit trying to look for a sign as to where she should go. Suddenly, she could hear the screech again and it sounded louder this time, telling her they must be closer to the source than before. She could tell it came from a spot deeper in the carnivore area than they were now. Quinn glanced down at the digital map and frowned once she saw how far they already were from the main entrance. There seemed to be a sort of clearing nearby that Quinn decided to drive towards in hopes of getting a better idea of where to go after getting there. She stepped on the gas to pick up the pace with a destination in mind now. Before long, they made it into the clearing. Unfortunately, it seemed as if this was now a dead end with the surrounding plants being just thick enough to prevent the vehicle from going further. Quinn sighed as she looked around. At this point, the rain had mostly gone away and the sky began to clear, so it was getting easier to see things. There could have been unknown dangers surrounding them as they sat there however, still, Quinn decided to get out of the car to gaze around.

The lights from the car illuminated the path in front but it was hard to tell what else was around them. Then, without warning, Quinn heard another shriek much more clearly than before. She could tell they were close and it came from the brush on her side of the car. “We have to go find whatever that is!” Quinn said with urgency. She pulled out a torch from the car and her Pokemon jumped out to follow her. Quinn lit the torch before power walking away from the car once it was secured and off. The plants were a bit hard to get through, so they all had to move more slowly than she wanted. After getting about 30 feet from the car and past the thickest undergrowth, Quinn heard another shriek. “Hurry, this way!” She said as she began to run towards the direction the shriek called from. A few moments later, Quinn could discern some movement ahead of them. Quinn quickly pushed past the plants before jumping back, barely avoiding a large object that fell from the above trees. “Watch out!”

Quinn moved the torch to illuminate the frantically tossing object. Lux hopped on her shoulder and brightly flashed his lights too to help. What Quinn thought was one large object was actually two Pokemon brawling. They eventually separated from their tussle several feet away, allowing Quinn and her team to discern what they were looking at. Poised and ready to strike, they saw a Sandaconda staring down the other Pokemon that was presumably its prey. The other Pokemon was a wiry creature with sharp claws and purple feathers. Quinn was unsure what this other Pokemon was, which came as a shock, though she was not aware of the extent of secrets this island had hidden. The unknown Pokemon appeared badly wounded but was still trying to hold its ground. It let out an audible cry to intimidate the Sandaconda who hissed back at it. This time, everyone could hear its cry, not just Quinn. Without further delay, the Sandaconda moved to strike, seemingly uncaring of the newcomers to the scene. Quinn tried to lurch forward to protect the unknown Pokemon but was too slow. Thankfully, Lux was able to move faster, taking the brunt of the Sandaconda’s attack to protect the feathered creature. He was sent back along with the purple Pokemon. Quinn had no time to hesitate now, “Lux, use Blizzard!” She called out. Lux did as told and sent the Sandaconda back into a nearby tree. It was knocked out momentarily before coming back too and quickly slithering away to safety. Quinn immediately rushed over to Lux along with Cyan and Sakura. “Thank you for reacting so quickly, Lux!” Lux let out a positive cry of reassurance. Quinn handed Lux one of the Sitrus berries they collected earlier before turning to the unknown Pokemon. The unknown Pokemon seemed shocked that not only had other living things come out of the forest but saved it from its assailant. At first, it stepped back, unsure if they were truly friends rather than foes. It snarled at them timidly until Quinn pulled out another berry from one of her pockets. She gestured towards the Pokemon to take it. The lighter purple plumes of feathers from the Pokemon’s arms, tail, and back suddenly went flush along its body, giving it a sleeker and calmer look. The Pokemon ate the berry before looking curiously at Quinn. Cyan stood nearby ready to jump in if things turned south. Quinn noticed Cyan’s unease and began to speak, “It is okay, Cyan. I believe this is the source of the cries for help I kept hearing. It needed someone to come save it. I am glad we made it in time…”
