 Near the base of central Mt. Coronet where the wind carries up and over the mountain from the western coast, many wind turbines can be found that span over much of the hill and gradual mountain area where the Valley Windworks remains. Here in a valley where the wind is almost constantly flowing, the windworks takes that energy and concentrates it into power at the power plant for most of the Sinnoh Region.

He almost hesitated when he could feel the warmth of the sun of the outside, taking one last glance around to take in the most vivid detail he had ever witnessed for himself, and with a choked sigh he moved forward through the opening that the small Lilipup had lead them towards. Just like that his perception blurred and things were as fuzzy and unclear as they had always been, leaving the walls of the tunnels behind and coming out into the open of the Sinnoh Region. He missed it already, being able to see as if he were never born the way that he was, save for the color and finite detail that he would never know in his life, but he had to digress. He knew that wasn’t his life, sight was just something that wasn’t a part of who he was, and he had come to accept that a long time ago… It was just nice to pretend, if only for a little bit.
”What a beautiful day today,” Calla smiled as she flitted through the air, looking up to the sky and basking in the warmth of the sun, her tails swaying in the breeze that brushed over them.
”What part of Sinnoh are we in? I can’t imagine that we went far,” Copper asked, patting Cassio on his head whom stood beside him.
”No, this isn’t far from Sandgem town, only a little north. This is called Valley of Windworks by the humans, they have great machines that harness the wind power here for their buildings,” Calla replied, hovering towards Copper in the air, though they both heard a voice moving towards them echoing through the tunnels, and Copper turned to find Skylar’s figure emerging from the mouth of the tunnels, having followed through the caverns.
”Hey, glad you made it out alright too,” Copper commented, finding Skyalr’s figure in the openness as he moved forward.
”I guess we ended up somewhere just a little north from Sandgem town, but I don’t hear any noise from a city or town or anything, so this should be a good place for that research task,” he mentioned.
Having moved into the area with Copper and his other Pokemon, Ostinato took a moment to look around the area as he padded forward on his broad legs. He wasn’t sure exactly what it was that Copper was going to do here, the Professor said that Copper just needed to capture a new Pokemon that appealed to him and train it through its evolutionary stages, but before he could get much more thought into how he could help Copper, he was faced with a puffed up Drifloon that came towards him.

Upon getting out of the caverns that was the Underground, Skylar and his team spot Copper just head. He caught his breath before walking up. When he got closer his Pokégear chimed. He pulled it out looking at it. “ The Valley Windworks?” He said before looking around. “ I guess that would explain the windmills around. Hmm also a town is right nearby.” With a click he put the Pokégear up. Skylar took a few moments breathing in the fresh air, which was more preferred than the atmosphere in the Underground. “ Well, we’re here now. What did you need to do here again?” Skylar asked Copper. His eyes wandered across the land looking at the Pokémon around the area, looking up at the windmills. It was an interesting sight nonetheless. |

Skylar looked around the windworks for a bit while once again deep in thought. The Bayleef then came over with a smile. “ From what I remember, he said he was going to be doing some research for Professor Rowan here.” She spoke rather teasingly to tease Skylar about his easy forgetfulness. “Yeah you don’t need to go rubbing it in.” He said before pulling her in and rubbing her head playfully and gently. This caused her to laugh a bit when he did. “Well if he’s going to be researching. I’ll let him have the time he needs. I can start training for the gym battles that will be coming up!” He said with a bit of confidence in his tone.
Skylar was looking around in some of the grassy areas at the Pokémon that inhabited the landscape. He was honestly enthralled by all the types of different Pokémon here. That was when he saw something that seemed out of the ordinary, well at first he heard it. He began to walk over to the grass hearing some struggling Pokémon noises. Once he got over he saw a Trapinch with a sort of sea greenish shine to its body. It’s mouth wide open and trying to cough something up. The Latios flew over when Skylar called him over. “I think it’s choking on something!” The Pokémon exclaimed. Skylar rushed down to the Pokémon’s level, he noticed it had been on its back as well struggling to turn over. “Alright hang on. I’m gonna help.” He said measuring the Pokémon’s size with his eyes then put two fingers to his chest and started to compress down every now and again until the trapinch cough up what looked to be a marble of some kind. The Latios attention was caught by the marble, as it had a sudden draw to it. “There you go!” Skylar smiles as the trapinch finally rolled onto its legs. It looked at him before giving a thankful bow. When Skylar went to pet it, it playfully latched its jaw onto his arm, not being too tough.
It was long before the Latios flew back over “Hey, check this out.” He said tossing Skylar the marble. He caught it and began to examine it. “Hmm... I’ve seen something like this before, but... ah in unova! This is what I think is called a Mega Stone.” He said inspecting it. Yet there was no current way to tell what type of mega stone it was. After pocketing the mega stone for now, the trapinch began to paw and naw gently on his leg. Seeing how the Pokémon wasn’t going anywhere. He smiled holding a pokeball out and knelt down. The Pokémon tapped it before being pulled inside. Ready to start its new life.

He took a moment to make sure he had himself composed, and then leaned down on the ground beside Cassio to make sure his vest and harness were situated and fitted properly. He did let the Jolteon off of his leash however, taking the clasp in hand and undoing it from his harness, wrapping up the leash and tucking it into one of the pockets. Copper didn’t feel as though there was any immediate need for him to be lead around by Cassio in this open area, especially since they weren’t in any kind of crowds or otherwise compromising situation. He also knew though that despite being off of his leash for a time, Cassio would never go far from his side, so he really had nothing to be concerned about. Copper stood, and brushed off his pant legs as he glanced around, and Skylar spoke just a few moments after verifying their location and mentioning windmills in the distance. Those must have been the machines that Calla commented on, though he couldn’t see any for himself.
”Professor Rowan suggested coming out somewhere away from the cities and towns to be able to encounter wild Pokemon better,” Copper answered, glancing around with his pale eyes.
”I just met with him to see what I can learn, and it turns out that he has a program for Pokemon researchers. I uh… I didn’t have the most fruitful upbringing with Pokemon, so I never got to learn anything about them… And while I’ve been traveling and training the Pokemon I do have, I just don’t really feel like I know anything about them… So I’m just starting over from the beginning, and doing what I can to make myself better for my Pokemon,” he continued.
”I think it will help! You’re going to do great Copper,” Calla chimed in with a smile, flitting through the air around his head. Copper sighed, though he tried not to be too bitter still with Calla around, she meant well, but he still just didn’t know how he felt about her. It seemed though that Skylar had some Pokemon that were like her… He could hear them speaking, but it wasn’t through sound reverberating through the air.
”So you have psychic type Pokemon too? I didn’t know they could communicate until I met Calla,” Copper questioned after hearing more than a few voices after it seemed something went a bit awry with a smaller figure of a Pokemon.
Off to the side, Ostinato was faced with a small Pachirisu that moved forward with a sparking tail, and he wondered how many Pokemon they might go through before Copper felt at ease enough to befriend one to train for this research task he was set on. Skylar has heard Copper and walked a bit closer to converse with him. “ Yeah it seems that the wild areas where wild Pokémon roam are far different than the ones right next to the cities.” He looked around once again at the Pokémon living in their habitats. He turned his attention back to Copper. “ Psychic type, oh right. Right before we had entered the cavern, I had a battle with a Pokémon named Latios. I literally just now found out that through his psychic powers that I could understand him and my Pokémon.” The Latios hovered over above Skylar before looking at the Azelf. “ How long you been helping out your friend here.” The Latios asked the small psychic type spirit Pokémon. Rather intrigued being a legendary Pokémon, he was curious about the details. It’s not just anyone that can befriend a legendary Pokémon. Skylar looked up at the Latios hovering above him and reached up gently scratching his neck. Which in return, caused the Latios to give a soft, echoing purr.

Skylar was a bit deep in thought about what Copper said. He was right about something though. Pokémon seemed to act and live different that live in cities and near city’s, then the ones that live in the far open. He pondered what this research will entail. “ Well that is an amazing way to start, learning about how pokemon thrive. How they act. It sounds exciting to say the least.” He said with a smile. “ I can say, being from Johto the Pokémon here do act very different, but that wouldn’t surprise me.” He said as he looked down at his Bayleef. “ Yet at the same time, they seem so similar. Always curious, heck Chikorita was my first Pokémon and she had eagerly jumped into my arms. You made that probably one of the happiest days of my life, since I became a trainer.” The Bayleef began to feel so flushed, she could help herself but putting her front legs on his chest and accidentally pushing him on the ground. She began to nuzzle his cheek affectionately. After the moment had passed he brushed himself off and finally got back up. He had notice the Latios was going off towards the grassy area looking at all the Pokémon. He was soon lunged at by a shinx who had initiated a battle with. Encountered Lv 12 Shinx 90 HP Latios used Psyshock Shinx -70. 20/90 Shinx used Tackle Latios -20. 100/120 Latios used Psyshock Shinx Fainted Latios Gaines 7 exp |

Salac (Sweet +3, Sour +3, Bitter +1) x6 Standing with his few Pokemon out in the openness of the fields around them, Copper listened about Skylar’s psychic type Pokemon, something called a Latios, and that had to be the strange shaped figure that didn’t seem to be touching the ground at all. He was still wary of psychic type pokemon, he didn’t appreciate the things that they were capable of, so he made a mental note to keep his distance from the peculiar shape of it.
”Yeah… They’re uh, they’re really something with their powers,” Copper replied, glancing at Calla with his pale eyes for a moment. He made it perfectly clear from the moment she started talking that he wanted minimal contact with her powers, and for obvious reasons because of what happened with Abban. He had never heard Cassio or Ostinato before through psychic powers, and while that would be even more fulfilling in a way than being able to see them for once in his life, he just couldn’t bring himself to accept psychic powers so closely affecting him. Skylar went on about something about different Pokemon from different regions and how he met his starter Pokemon in the Johto region, a segue in the conversation, but Copper watched the four legged Pokemon Skylar must be referring to jump on him.
”Uh, sure I guess? That’s a little bit out of what I’m trying to accomplish here, I’m not going to become some Pokemon habit expert over night…” Copper commented, trying to just keep things basic and not get overwhelmed at all about what he was setting out to do.
”Professor Rowan just told me to come out here and catch something that appealed to me, that I would like to befriend and train through its stages of evolution and pay attention to how it achieved each new form,” he explained, keeping his mission in the front of his thoughts. He watched Ostinato’s faint and fuzzy figure in the distance, and found the otter in battle with some small shape of a Pokemon, and he wondered what kind of Pokemon he might encounter here that he would want to train. Ostinato sent away the small shape easily enough, but he knew that when the right encounter happened, he would let Copper step in.
Lofting in the air, enjoying the swaying breezes and the warmth of the sun, Calla was keeping close when the Latios approached her, asking about how long she had been helping Copper. She turned with a bright smile at first, but kind deflated ever so slightly as she tried to thin of her answer.
”Uhm… I’ve known Copper as a human for a lot longer than he realizes. My powers found him a while ago when he was trying to leave his home, he was so scared, he couldn’t find the confidence in himself to do what he felt was best, so I helped him then,” Calla answered quietly, being the Pokemon of willpower, she had helped Copper find it in himself to make the effort to run away from his home, but when she told him what she was… She remembered how resentful he was, and how disheartened he became at believing that none of his actions were his own and that he wasn’t capable of the things that he thought he was…
”I found him much later, and I’ve been traveling with him since. He’s trying his best though to figure things out in a way that makes sense for him, because of how isolated he was from the world as a child, so I try not to interfere much. I, like the rest of his Pokemon, am here for morale support when he needs it, and I feel like he’s becoming more confident in himself for what he’s accomplishing,” Calla finished. She did know how Copper felt about her, whether it be because she was a psychic type Pokemon or because he feels that she made the most impactful decision of his life for him, he was resentful of her, but as he was getting more time to sort through his thoughts and really search for himself, he was becoming more open about the things in the world that he had been hidden away from. Skylar full well understood what he was getting at when he was talking about wanting to become a researcher. “ I mean, no one accomplish goals over night. Kinda like how I want to try and open a gym of my own. It will take me a lot of trainer and dedication while I’m collecting my gym badges.” He said before kneeling down beside his Bayleef. “ But I do know one thing, I am not doing it alone. I’ve got my Pokémon by my side. Their dedication, while I’m striving to better myself. I know I can count on them at a moments notice.” He smiles gently running his hand down the grass types neck. “ I really do hope you can accomplish that goal of becoming a Pokémon researcher.” He stated. The Latios listened to the small spirit Pokémon, he looked at her with intent. “ I see. Well I think it is good that you are with him. Maybe things will be better in the future.” He said rather optimistically.

Salac (Sweet +3, Sour +3, Bitter +1) x6 Glancing to Skylar at his words, Copper kind of shrugged, he wasn’t even really sure that becoming a researcher was what he wanted to do, but for right now, it seemed like the best thing that he could do for himself and his Pokemon.
”I mean, it’ll be nice to learn some things finally, and have some kind of path to follow for the first time, but I’m not sure that becoming a full on researcher is what I really want to do,” Copper commented, he just still wasn’t sure on the long term path that he wanted to take. He could always go back into battling the gyms, he did only have a few badges, he knew there were eight from each region, but he just couldn’t see the appeal any more in just pure battling. He digressed.
”That’s something for another time though, I’m not gonna worry about it, and just try to learn what I can now that I have some resources,” he affirmed, more for himself than anything, just trying to keep his thoughts straight. At Copper’s side though, while Ostinato was out in the near distance, he heard Atticus the Lilipup start to snuff and yip at something that was coming towards them, and Copper turned to find the figure of a small Pokemon moving towards them. It had four legs, and round ears, and a tail that seemed to have a star shape on it, and as it moved forward it gave a small cry like a meow of sorts. Cassio had stayed close, instinctively never leaving Copper’s side, so he was able to reach down to one of the pockets on the electric type’s vest and grabbed the Pokedex that he had been given from Professor Juniper.
”Shinx, the Flash Pokemon,” the device relayed, identifying the Pokemon that had emerged from the bushes. Copper closed down the device before glancing back up to the small figure.
”Alright, let’s give this a try. Atticus, use bite,” Copper requested, a bit interested in the potential opportunity to have this Pokemon be his first real task. He wasn’t familiar with the Pokemon, as he wasn’t with many, many of them still, so it would be a learning opportunity. The small puppy lunged forward to initiate the battle with the Shinx, and the encounter only took a few moments before it looked like Atticus had bested the small feline like Pokemon. Copper had a Pokeball in hand after finding one in Cassio’s vest, and he threw the device in an attempt to capture the Shinx, in hopes of having his first research task. After somewhat feeling homesick, Skylar gently clutched his chest. " What am i doing... I'm bouncing all of the place in all these regions... when I haven't even had the chance to explore my own region..." Skylar looked over to Copper. Moments later the Latios floated over towards Skylar with a hint of worry on the look on his face. " Whats the matter there Skylar? Something on your mind?" the Latios spoke to the trainer. Skylar gave a nod. " I know this might sound crazy. But we are going to be heading off on our own. Back to Johto. I want Johto to be the first place i fully Discover. My mind is made up!" The Latios was shocked but understood and nodded understandingly letting Skylar know he was there to support and be with him." Copper. I'm gonna head off. Best of luck to you and i hope you achieve your goal!" he said before heading out
