On the central western coast of Sinnoh and spreading for miles and miles inland is the Eterna Forest, a well known spot for anyone living on the western side of the region. The forest spans on for miles and miles as far as the eye can see beneath a thick canopy of leaves from the thick stands of trees that make up the forest turning it almost into a maze. However, despite what most would think about a forest being a sort of natural preserve where the local residents might take care of it, the Eterna forest gets no such praise, and on more than one account, is actually avoided. It is mostly in part due to the sun barely getting through the thick branches and leaves above, but some claim that the chilly air that envelops the forest is a strange force that adds to the forest's mystery. Anyone who braves the forest is warned to have many supplies in case they get lost, and even are warned against moving into the forest all together because of the numerous lost cases that surround it, but it is a necessary route to take for those who might be traveling through western Sinnoh to get to Eterna City.

Elfana Aroway The forest was a welcome change from Eterna City. Her mood seemed to improve almost instantly. The further they got from Eterna, the better she felt. She even felt good enough to chat with Walter and Kayuki, although she was terse. Being sent a babysitter still didn't sit well with her but she knew she couldn't hold a grudge against the Jynx forever. She was only doing what her brother had asked her to do. The slowly darkening surroundings did not manage to sour her mood any. Eterna Forest was a natural maze. She had expected it to be dark and "spooky" to a certain degree. What she was not expecting was the chill. The further they got in the forest, the colder it was. She had to stop after a little over an hour of walking to retrieve a coat from her bag. "Maybe coming here was a bad idea." Walter muttered as he took in their surroundings. He had not anticipated that the forest would be so unsettling. If something went wrong his trainer would likely be too stubborn to admit to it. She would continue right on as if there wasn't a problem. Eterna Forest could be more dangerous than he had originally thought. "If we stay together we'll be fine." Elfana shrugged then slipped on her coat. She wasn't worried. They would train up for the Gym, get the Buneary that Walter had insisted she needed, and make it out of the forest just fine.
While Elfana was distracted, Kiro had wandered off a little ways. The air around him felt somehow colder than it had back with his trainer. This put the Croagunk on edge. The cold did not feel natural. He paused then frowned. Wandering any further alone was probably dangerous. When he turned to look back at his trainer he found himself face to face with a curious Bidoof. Croagunks weren't something it got to see every day! It had only wanted to get a closer look. Kiro croaked in a panic and spat poisonous gunk into the Bidoof's face. The poor Pokemon tried to curl in on itself, attempting to prevent further damage only to be knocked away by the startled Croagunk. That was probably unnecessary...Who sneaks up on people like that though?! The Bidoof clearly deserved to be punished. He crossed his arms and croaked at the unconscious Pokemon, scolding it for its behavior despite it being unable to hear him. "Kiro?" The Croagunk looked in the direction of his trainer, choosing to end his lecture in favor of joining back up with her. A nosy Bidoof was not worth any more of his time. He let himself be picked up the moment he got close to her, relaxing in Elfana's arms. Kayuki would be fine in the cold but Walter and Kiro needed to be kept close. "Let's keep moving." She opened her coat enough to wrap Kiro with it and continued on her way. They needed to find somewhere comfortable to camp out before night fell.

Elfana Aroway Finding a spot to stop for the night was harder than she had expected. Despite her best attempt to keep track of her location, she had managed to circle back around twice so far. Elfana felt as if the forest itself were mocking her despite how much credit she was trying to give it. She got it. It was a maze. She had already established that. Why was it so determined to remind her every few minutes?! Her Croagunk curled up against her in her coat, trying to keep as close to her as possible. Between his trainer and her coat maybe he would be able to keep warm. The cold air was starting to get to him. Every so often it felt like they would pass through a particularly cold patch. His need to cling to her allowed him to feel the slight shiver that would pass through his trainer when they hit these cold spots but that was the only outward sign she gave that the temperature was bothering her. Elfana refused to admit that maybe wandering deeper into the forest was a bad idea. The little group pressed on until it was too dark to do so. No light was able to break through the thick canopy overhead. Elfana stared quietly up at the leaves, considering her options. This was a horrible place to camp but she didn't want to admit defeat either. They had come here for that stupid Buneary and to train her Pokemon and she was going to accomplish both things one way or another! She set Kiro down, retrieving a simple blanket from her bag and laying across the forest floor. A tent wasn't necessary. Sleeping out in the open wasn't new to her. So long as her Pokemon stayed warm they would be fine. "Right. This should do nicely." She was going to pretend it would anyway. Elfana settled down on the blanket, taking a notebook out of her bag so she could write down a general plan for her time in the forest. This usually helped her get her thoughts together. Had it not been for the weeping that had started nearby, she might have succeeded in her attempt at organizing herself. She set her notebook down, listening close to whatever was crying. "Someone lost, perhaps?" Kayuki was the first to speak up. She already had her hands on Elfana's shoulders to prevent her from trying to go investigate the sound. For all they knew something could be baiting them into a trap. She did not trust the forest. "Maybe." Elfana gestured for Kiro to come closer to her, still focused on the direction the crying was coming from. "The tone is off." She concluded after a listening for a couple more seconds. "Kiro. Deal with it." She gave the Croagunk a gentle pat on the head before sending him off after the source of the noise.
The Croagunk croaked, gathering energy into his hands and launching a small pink orb straight in the direction of the weeping. His trainer had concluded that he wasn't attacking a person- not that she would care if she did. The orb burst in a bright pink flash of lunar energy, sending a noisy Misdreavus fleeing out into their little campsite. The little Ghost didn't take too kindly to the Croagunk not falling for its trick. Kiro was knocked flat by a particularly vicious Psywave. He croaked miserably as he tried to pick himself up, glaring at the Ghost as it hovered overhead. It laughed and mocked the poor frog until it got a face full of poisonous gunk. Poison attacks might not be the most effective on a Ghost but taking the thing down with Gunk Shot was oh so satisfying. He returned to his trainer, resting against her thigh while she retrieved a Pokeball. "Good job. A Ghost might come in handy later on." She rubbed the Croagunk's back after tossing the ball towards the unconscious Misdreavus. She didn't bother to watch the Pokeball afterwards. She had a Croagunk to take care of. The small ping that soon followed was more than enough to let her know the Ghost had been caught.

Elfana Aroway After the Misdreavus incident things seemed to settle down. The forest around them was quiet enough to almost be unsettling. Almost. Elfana had abandoned her notebook. Writing out her plans could wait until her Croagunk was taken care of. He was her priority. She sprayed him down with a Potion, carefully rubbing it into his skin after to make sure it would be effective. This also gave her a chance to check him over for more serious injuries. Kiro was fine however. He was tired and had a few bruises from getting so well acquainted with the ground but it was nothing a Potion or two couldn't fix. She set the empty bottle back in her bag, not wanting to discard it on the forest floor. They could throw out any of the used bottles when they returned to the city. She has treated too many Pokemon that were ill because some ignorant trainer had abandoned their garbage somewhere they shouldn't have. "There. That should hold you over for now." She kissed the top of her Croagunk's head before setting him down beside her. "We'll stay here tonight. Tomorrow we will head further into the forest." That was probably a terrible idea. Her refusal to admit that she was lost didn't make it any less true. Walter and Kayuki sat on the blanket near her, the former holding his hands out to her. Elfana took the Alakazam's hands in her own, taking her time running him through his daily exercises. She still had a few things she needed to do before she could go to sleep. That was fine though. This was time she got to spend with some of her companions. While she was still much further from her lab than she ever wanted to be, little breaks like this were comforting for her. She could focus on something other than her desire to return home.Partners: Out of their Pokeballs: Walter (Alakazam), Kiro (Croagunk), Kayuki (Jynx) Wearing: dress, hairstyle, shoes, coat Trainer Encounter: 20/25 Wild Encounter: 14/5 Item Posting: Fan Plug 19/30 OOC: Travel Egg active for Liandry. 4/7/20 {Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Elfana Aroway Elfana was coming to terms with her stunning lack of warm clothing. How had she managed to pack a coat but nothing else that could possibly be useful to her right now? She had changed out of her dress and into a simple pair of shorts. Her outfit would do nothing to warm her but at least she would be fully covered if someone happened to stumble upon her while she was asleep. Random encounters with strangers in a forest in the middle of the night were unpleasant enough without the added awkwardness of her dress riding up while she slept. She curled up on top of the blanket with Kiro in her arms and her coat resting over top of them like a second blanket. The rest of her team could remain in their Pokeballs for the night. The cold wouldn't be good for a growing Turtwig and she didn't need Cranberry trying to run down anything that made a noise near them. Walter and Kayuki remained out with her, the Alakazam sleeping with his back to a tree in a position that reminded her of someone meditating. The Jynx had chosen to lay on the blanket next to the redheaded doctor, her arms wrapped tight around her while she nestled herself against her back. She was surprisingly warm despite being an Ice Type so her cuddling was welcome. Elfana took off her glasses, placing them on the blanket above her head before closing her eyes. Her Croagunk shifted, grumbling in protest to her decision to move so suddenly. It had been a very long day for the poisonous frog. He was understandably exhausted. She hummed and rubbed his back. "Alright. I get it." She whispered, unable to help her small smile. They had yet another long day ahead of them tomorrow. She had best get some rest. Elfana closed her eyes, listening to the sounds of the forest until she drifted off.Partners: Out of their Pokeballs: Walter (Alakazam), Kiro (Croagunk), Kayuki (Jynx) Wearing: outfit, coat Trainer Encounter: 21/25 Wild Encounter: 15/5 Item Posting: Fan Plug 20/30 OOC: Travel Egg active for Liandry. 4/7/20 {Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Elfana Aroway Elfana wasn't sure how much time had passed before she woke up. The forest was still dark so it couldn't have been long. She rubbed her eyes, trying to clear her vision enough to see whatever it was that had disturbed her. "Did it get colder?" She muttered as she sat up. Something was moving nearby. Whatever it was must have woken her up. "Probably a Bug." She sighed, grabbing for her coat so she could pull it around herself. If it was just a Bug then she wasn't going to worry about it. She was awake now so she was going to take the time to plan out their day while her Pokemon rested. She blinked when her hand touched her exposed skin instead of the warm fabric of her coat. That wasn't right. Had she managed to push the coat off of herself in her sleep? "I'm sorry, Kiro." She murmured as she felt around for her coat. Her poor Croagunk was probably freezing. "Finding it would be easier if I put my glasses on." Despite acknowledging this she continued to blindly feel along the blanket for her coat. A second problem occurred to her when the sleepy fog started to clear from her head. "Kiro?" Her Croagunk should have been right next to her but he wasn't. "Kiro?!" She called again, searching the blanket frantically for her Croagunk. "Kiro!" All of the noise she was making was enough to wake up the sleeping Jynx and Alakazam. Kayuki frowned, placing her hand on Elfana's shoulder. "Elle? Sugar, what are you yellin' ab-" A loud, frightened croak cut the Jynx off. "KIRO!" Elfana grabbed for her bag, just in case she needed one of her Pokemon to help her fight off whatever was hurting her Croagunk...only that was gone too. "No. No, no, no! Where are they?!" Her Pokemon were gone! When the frightened croaks began to move away from her, Elfana got to her feet and took off after whatever it was that had her Pokemon. "Elle, wait!" Her Alakazam called after her but Elfana refused to listen. She needed to get to her Pokemon as quickly as possible.
The silence of the forest that was on the verge of being unsettling earlier became a special sort of awful when Kiro's croaking stopped. Elfana was convinced her heart had stopped with it. "Kiro?!" She called to him again, near breathless after her blind sprint through the trees. Her Croagunk did not respond. Elfana continued on, hoping that she was going in the correct direction. She needed to find her Pokemon. The further she wandered, the darker it seemed to get. She couldn't help but wonder how far into the forest she had gone. Coming to Eterna Forest had been a mistake. She should have struggled through the Gym and been on her way. Elfana wrapped her arms around herself, rubbing them as she tried to keep herself warm. She was barefoot, her coat was gone, her Pokemon were missing, and she had left her glasses behind. She was certain that her situation could not get any worse. For nearly an hour she walked, lost and alone. Her Croagunk hadn't called to her again.
Her luck seemed to improve when she stumbled upon an area that opened up to what appeared to be a large mansion. It appeared to be rundown but there was always a possibility that someone was camping there. Maybe they had seen her Pokemon! Or maybe they had taken them. If she ran into anyone she would be prepared to deal with whatever their response was. What she wasn't prepared for was for something to grab her ankles suddenly as she approached the building. She hit the ground hard, cursing whatever she had tripped over. Why hadn't she grabbed her glasses? She would have no trouble avoiding obstacles if she had taken a second to grab them. She nursed her bruised wrist, irritated by the discomfort but grateful that it wasn't broken. Or at least she thought it wasn't. She didn't have time to properly examine it before she found herself surrounded by bright purple lights. "That probably isn't good." She commented but did not look away from the lights. They seemed to be hovering around her. The longer she watched them, the more disoriented she felt. Her head felt as if it wanted to split open. She closed her eyes, thinking that would protect her from whatever the lights were doing to her, but the sudden darkness only threw her further off. Elfana blacked out.Partners: Out of their Pokeballs: Walter (Alakazam), Kiro (Croagunk), Kayuki (Jynx) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 22/25 Wild Encounter: 16/5 Item Posting: Fan Plug 21/30 OOC: Travel Egg active for Liandry. 4/7/20 {Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Elfana Aroway "It wouldn't clash too horribly with my lab coat- depending on the day." She replied. On any given day her coats were a mixed of singed, torn, coated in fluids from various attacks or damaged parts of Pokemon, or otherwise destroyed. They needed to be replaced every couple of months on average...She missed her lab. Her home felt further away than it had before after the night she had just had. She wrapped her arms around herself, mostly to try to warm herself but also as a small form of comfort, though her expression remained neutral. Thadius was someone she could consider...sort of a friend. It certainly wasn't a negative relationship. She trusted him enough to let him near her but she would not express any sort of emotion that could convey vulnerability near him. Her brother was the only one allowed to see that. "What's an Anar...An...Anty. What's an Anty?" Pantalaimon asked Kiro. The mention of her Steelix had brought a small smile to their trainer's face so it must be a good thing! "A Steelix. Remember that Onix you fought at the Gym? That but metal." A metal Onix? That sounded so cool! Pantalaimon bounced along and squealed. He wanted to meet the metal Onix! "Antarcticite is doing well. He is staying at the lab for now. Traveling still frightens him." Everything was terrifying to him though. Her Steelix was an incredibly skittish creature. She did not want to stress him out more than necessary. "He is warming up to the idea of his Mega Stone again but I haven't tried pushing it...more than necessary anyway." A Mega Evolved Steelix was an excellent deterrent. Most days she left her Steelix to rest but if a Team member or trainer was getting a bit too aggressive for her liking she didn't hesitate to call on the giant metal snake for assistance.
"How is your Aggron?" She asked suddenly, trying to keep the conversation going in any direction but the reason why he kept glancing at her. Conversations about their Pokemon would always be preferable to anything human related. Pokemon were better than people. "I haven't made any progress on Walter's hands." Elfana commented with a small scowl before her expression returned to apathy. Every other Pokemon she had worked with thus far she had been able to perfectly restore. Damaged Steel bodies, the blades of an aggressive injured Scyther, Fire Types whose body heat made her lab near unlivable...They had all been treated to the best of her ability. She had even designed several prosthesis for her adoptive mother's patients. For some reason she could not solve the mystery that was Walter. 'Because there isn't a mystery to solve. It's something you can't fix.' A small, defeated voice in the back of her mind reminded her before it was buried once more. "I hope Aggron is doing okay. He was a good boy." And he was one of the few things her Steelix wasn't completely terrified of. She hoped that they would be able to meet again someday.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 30/25 Wild Encounter: 3/5 Item Posting: Fan Plug 29/30 OOC: {Spoiler}{Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
Thadius nodded in agreement with the woman. She'd certainly looked worse for wear before this. Several times as a direct result of some of the Pokemon he had brought her for care. Rocket Pokemon tended to have more than just a few cuts and bruises - especially the ones assigned to his detachment. Tracking, hunting, and capturing legendary Pokemon was not an easy task and when backed into a corner it generally became apparent why they had earned the title of legendary in the first place. The man's eyes finally stopped flitting her way every few seconds, casting the dull blues over the foliage instead. For one, he could tell she was uncomfortable - no need to let her knew that he was aware. And more importantly - He had remembered! This was a good thing. He now knew why it was that he knew her. 'But that isn't why we are here today Thade.' This voice was different. It was not of his usual inner monologue and it sent a visible shiver down his spine. He hated this part but had forgotten to brace himself for it. When the memories came back, they didn't always just come back directly in the way he wanted. Sometimes he heard his mental banter in the voices of people who weren't there. Who would never be there again. From his shoulder, the Pidgey ed it's head to one side and chirped in on the conversation the Pokemon below were having. "He's really, really cowardly though. Or that's what mom says about the giant metal rock snake." The Pidgey quite literally called 'little one' had never met the Pokemon in question, but his momma had been with Thadius for a long, long time and often told him stories about the adventures they went on. She... Liked to leave out certain details, Little one was sure of that. But the Steelix in question had definitely been mentioned more than once. Casting his beady eyes downward, he spotted the special ball Thadius had constructed in Jhoto once upon a time for his favorite Pokemon. One day, if he worked hard then maybe he would get his own special ball! As they continued to walk, Thadius nodded again in response to her explanation, scratching his chin yet again in his only nervous tick. 'Talk to her Thadius, she won't bite you.' He growled in a low tone as the voice giggled, turning his attention back to Elfana and clearing his throat. "That's good. A shame he won't accompany you. Would make...this." He gestured to her and the forest when words eluded him, realizing for the first time that he had no idea what she was here. This woman wasn't the type to just up and leave her lab. In fact, Thadius was certain even with his foggy memory - that he had never seen her outside of that lab. Or was that just his mind playing tricks on him? After a few moments, he decided that while this was not his business to pry too much, it did have an impact on why he was here. "Mega evolution is... Tricky. Requires more than trust. Requires... a lot. He will get there when he gets there." The man nodded affirmatively, opening his mouth to speak again and then closing it at the mention of his Aggron. Rocket operations special enforcer project number six hundred and forty-one. Shortened to 641 by Thadius who was tasked with training and operating the weapon. "It's not a weapon." He half hissed under his breath before he came to the conclusion that he had spoken aloud and swallowed hard. There was no way to explain to her that the Aggron had gone partially insane from the terrifying experiment Team rocket had forced it to endure. An experiment that could force mega evolution on a Pokemon without any of the usual prerequisites for battle against legendary Pokemon. They had succeeded in that endeavor but the results were frightening. As she continued on to explain the situation with her Alakazam, Thadius resolved himself not to tell her that he had locked the Aggron away. Telling her would only serve to further hurt her pride as a doctor. She had done the best she could with the Aggron and for a time, it appeared he would recover mentally as well as he had physically under her care. But in the end, it had been too much. The steel monstrosity had snapped and almost killed himself and his entire team. No, better to lie this one time. "Aggron is doing well. Stronger than he has ever been." At least that part was true. The creature seemed to have no upward limits. Had it been as strong back then as it was now - Thadius imagined Team Rocket would have a Regigas right now. "I'm sorry about Walter." He offered poorly, unsure what else to say until he remembered she had asked about his visit. While it seemed in poor taste to wait so long to respond to that question, the man truly only now remembered, at least to some extent, why he was actually here. "I don't have many friends." He stated plainly. The man wasn't sad about this, he had been born alone and he would die alone. That being said, he knew he was going to ask her for a favor and felt the need to stress that he considered her a friend. "I... Think I need help with something."

Elfana Aroway While she did not outwardly show it, she was relieved when he finally decided to stop looking at her. She had taken it as a positive sign. "He would make all of this-" She paused and waved her hand towards the trees surrounding them. "And that mansion back there disappear." Assuming he was in the mood to do more than cower behind her. The displeasure she felt towards her current situation could not be more obvious. Her trip to Sinnoh was supposed to be a challenge. That had been another reason that she had left her Steelix home. He hated traveling and he would make clearing the Gyms far too simple. Kana would not count using her strongest Pokemon as "growth". She needed to work her way up from the bottom. "This is definitely the bottom. Couldn't get any lower." She muttered, lowering her hand with a frustrated sigh. "Cowardly? Why? He's too big for anything to be scary." Pantalaimon couldn't understand how such a large Pokemon could be afraid of anything. If he was as big as that Onix then nothing should be able to hurt him! A big, metal thing would be unstoppable. "You two are lucky enough to have...decent trainers." Kiro didn't trust Thadius enough to call him kind and he knew his trainer was only gentle with her Pokemon. Thade was one of the few people who didn't have to deal with the Ice Queen act from Elfana. "Antarcticite was not so lucky. Not until the doctor took him in." He croaked low at the smaller Pokemon. "His fear is understandable." Understanding his fears did not mean Kiro liked them. He tolerated the behavior because he felt he had to.
"His confidence is lacking. I hope that if I build that up enough he will be willing to try again." Elfana glanced over at him, assuming his comment about something not being a weapon was about the Mega Evolutions. "No. No they are not." She replied with a small nod, considering letting the conversation drop form there until he mentioned that his Aggron was well. Once more her neutral expression was replaced by a small smile. "I'm glad to hear it." That Aggron had been one of her favorite patients. For a moment she was actually proud of herself. Hearing that one of her patients had moved on and was doing better always made her day. Her expression didn't change when he said that he might need help with someone. The lead up to the question felt somewhat manipulative- even if he didn't intend for it to be- but she avoided commenting on it. She wanted to believe that he was better than that. Elfana clicked her tongue then crossed her arms beneath her chest. "Very well. What do you need?" Thadius had been decent to her in the past so she didn't feel a need to outright reject him. If it was something she could do without her lab then she would gladly help him. If her lab was required then she would have to tell him that his request would have to wait. She hoped he would understand if that ended up being the care. There was only so much she could do without her equipment.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 31/25 Wild Encounter: 4/5 Item Posting: Fan Plug 30/30 OOC: {Spoiler}{Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
Thadius actually smiled when she gestured to the area around them. It didn't take a whole lot of imagination to picture the destruction a Steelix of that caliber could bring to a place like that. It was almost a shame 641 had never been able to properly challenge the thing. That would have been one for the books. 'Still have that trainer's heart. That's what I love about you Thade.' He grunted in response to the voice. Sometimes it was... Difficult not to talk to her. 'it' He reminded himself instantaneously. It was hard not to respond to the voice because sometimes it was so very much on point with the types of things his wife might have said in this same situation. But he was well aware that his mind was not right. Feeding into it would only worsen matters. Breaking from his thoughts, the man's dull blue hues fell on Elfana. He knew what she'd said had been meant as an inner dialogue so he didn't respond. But judging from the way she said it only confirmed what he already knew from her appearance. This wasn't exactly a good day for her. From his shoulder, Little one laughed in an exaggerated and pronounced 'Ha-Ha-Ha!' before chirping out a reply. "My momma says the bigger they are the harder they f-" The little Pidgey cut himself short at the mention of a bad trainer. Despite being a baby himself, the Pidgey had witnessed the potential for cruelty that some humans possessed. After all, that was what Mister Thadius used him and his momma, and basically all of the others for! To rescue pokemon from bad men. And sometimes prisons. Thadius was a good man though, he never hurt his partners, even though his mother had once mentioned there was a time where he was less kind than he currently was. "Sometimes.. You have to run before you can walk." The man spoke his wisdom with apathy. It was true. Sometimes trial by fire or a dire situation was the only way to bring one's true potential to the table. Had he been in possession of the Steelix, Thadius might have concocted just such a situation. Then again, the way his mind was deteriorating, he was happy just to remember to eat breakfast each morning. Although he was well aware she had responded to something he hadn't meant to state aloud, the man didn't show any of his discomforts, nodding at her assessment of the Aggron. He felt a tinge of regret knowing he had lied to the woman, but that was just another stone in the backpack of regrets a man like himself had to carry along. Such is the life of a life taker. Thankfully, Thadius was not allowed time to dwell on his misrepresentation for long, a deep frown cutting across his features when she asked him the obvious question. It wasn't that she'd done anything wrong - it was simply that he had come here to ask for her help without knowing what exactly it was that he had come to ask her FOR. The man stopped walking and looked to the ground a moment in thought. Maybe it would come to him, but being that he didn't feel that familiar tingle in the back of his brain - he doubted it. Shuffling uncomfortably a moment, he began to adjust the straps on his suspenders and the shoulder plates he wore, the mostly chipped off sections of red that had once been the R for Rocket bobbing up and down as he did so. What did he need from her... "I noticed you aren't in the lab anymore. I always have a few Pokemon that need caring for. Found a few half-starved ones in an old Team bunker. They are malnourished to the point where feeding them wasn't enough. They need a balanced diet to fully recover. One of the Golbat doesn't have any teeth." Trailing off, Thadius realized this was the most he had said to anyone in a long, long time, and it wasn't because he was excited or necessarily wanted to say any of it. He was stalling for time. He did, in fact, have a few Pokemon that desperately needed more care than he could provide. The man had quite a bit of money raided from Rocket warehouses and liberated from other such sources... But he was no doctor and some of the things that had been done to these creatures required a professional he could trust not to ask what had happened to them. That being said, he KNEW that these Pokemon were not why he was here. He had other sources. Other doctors. But this request needed Elfana... He simply couldn't remember why.

Elfana Aroway "No teeth?" How sadistic did someone have to be to let a Golbat deteriorate to the point that it lost its teeth? Assuming they let it deteriorate. There was always a chance that they had removed the teeth themselves- which only made the condition of the Golbat worse. "A liquid diet is obviously necessary for the Golbat- unless you want the teeth replaced. I should have some extra teeth with me. If we can find Walter I can retrieve the teeth from my bag and give them to you." A liquid diet would still probably be necessary until the Golbat adjusted to its new teeth. "No blood. No letting it suck on anything. Trying too soon to drink from anything will cause more damage." She continued, thinking over the things a Golbat would need. "Unfortunately you will have to find a different doctor to install them. I have the teeth with me but the most I could do is fit them. Connecting them properly will be impossible without my equipment." Technically she could do it but she really didn't want to. Without the proper equipment the risk of harming the Pokemon instead of helping it was much too high. She would not put that poor Pokemon through anything else. From the sound of it the Golbat was struggling enough as it was. "Pretty sure he's already been knocked down too much to fall." Kiro commented before hopping up on to Elfana's shoulders. She instantly grabbed on to his legs to make sure he wouldn't fall, though it was hardly necessary. The Croagunk's sense of balance was better than most of her Pokemon. He looked through the trees, trying to get a feel for where they were and maybe spot Walter if he was lucky. He hopped back down when he had to admit that he still had no idea where they were. "Lost." Kiro grumbled, cursing the forest and everything within it. His trainer had been unhappy in the city but even a place that made her so miserable was better than where they were now. "Do you know any other doctors that can install the teeth? If you don't I can schedule a time to meet back at my lab." The care of the Pokemon took priority over this silly little adventure. "And I can come up with a diet plan for it until then to make sure it stays healthy." Thadius had given her the perfect excuse to focus on her work instead of the adventure she had been sent on. She was latching on to the opportunity to go back to being the doctor she was supposed to be.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 32/25 Wild Encounter: 5/5 Item Posting: Vs. Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
Thadius shook his head somberly in response to her query regarding the Golbat. The thing had literally no teeth. He had accidentally called it toothless once and the thing had immediately tried to kill him. Unfortunately for the Golbat the method it chose was death by bite. Therefore, it had just become gross and awkward for everyone after a few minutes. He'd done his best with the Broken Pokemon he carried in his pack. His team was always on his chest, the ones he rescued went to the pack. That was simply how it had always been. When she mentioned having... Extra teeth, the male couldn't stop the sledgehammer from shattering his stoic look, ing his head off to one side in an honest to goodness expression consisting of wonder at her preparedness, and something bordering on fear as there was no logical explanation for having the teeth of a Golbat on standby. The man merely nodded as she continued on with her, prognosis? Was that what doctors called it? Assessment. That was close enough - he merely nodded as she continued on with her assessment, having to pick up his pace to catch up to the woman since he'd stopped during his mental debate earlier. It was easier than it sounded when you had legs as long as he had, even with his considerable age. When she mentioned going back to the lab he seemed to perk up, even though he couldn't fathom why. That was a good thing? Perhaps whatever he really needed was back at the lab - which given the circumstances would be incredible given that he was currently caring for almost eleven Pokemon that needed varying degrees of care that he could not provide. As Kiro spoke, Little one squawked in an instinctive question without putting it into coherent words. His mother would tell him to stop prying but she was in her ball and probably still sleeping so she couldn't hear him. Or he hoped anyway. "Did he get beat up?" The pidgey asked once it realized that it was being rude not phrasing itself properly. Without waiting for a reply, the little bird chirped happily at the single word that came from Kiro's mouth next, shaking its head a few times in a y manner. "Lost? You are with Mister Dakari - he doesn't GET lost. It's like.. his job and stuff." The Pidgey puffed his chest out a bit, beaming with Pride. He was now old enough to become apart of the team that Thadius's Pokemon had begun calling 'the pathfinders' long before he was born. He had learned everything his momma had taught him and now he was helping thade find all sorts of secret stuff!... With a tiny sigh, the Pidgey reluctantly began picking at its feathers knowing that while his mom had said Thadius had once found so many great treasures and secrets - he mostly just found beat up Pokemon now.
Thadius rubbed the stubble on his chin, pretending to contemplate her question. He definitely knew other doctors but they had been walking for a bit now and he was beginning to lose his patience with himself. He couldn't stall forever but the man also sincerely could NOT remember. As if waiting for her cue, a pink mist began to settle down from the trees, carrying with it a floating pig-like Pokemon. Thadius actually stopped short, his hand lashing out and taking the doctor's before he could stop instinct. "What is-" He started before the mist settled down over him. For a brief moment, his grip on the woman intensified probably a little more than it should have. But a few moments later as the older man's eyes had just begun to glaze over - he blinked and they seemed to snap back to focus, shock written on his expression for an instant. That quickly faded too, however, replaced by his usual stoicism. Heaving a sigh, The man smiled a bit and looked up to the Pokemon floating above him even while it giggled and waved a stubby limb. "I'm back~! And not a moment too soon. Your brain was getting super mushy again Thadius." He was overjoyed to see the creature he'd sent off quite some time ago, and even more so now that he could feel the fog on his memory beginning to lift. That joy faded when he realized that The pokemon was both psychic and had been potentially speaking aloud. With a grunt he looked to the Doctor and cleared his throat. "I can handle the Golbat for now. I... am not the best at caring for Pokemon but it seems to enjoy the blended food I give him. And the others aren't critical." He stated a little more firmly than he had before the Musharna had appeared, his eyes moving down over her until he realized he was still gripping her hand and immediately released it. "I'm sorry."

Elfana Aroway Elfana noticed the look her was giving her but could only shrug in response. Of all the things she had done, carrying extra prosthetic parts around had to be the least surprising of them. "I planned on getting a Zubat. Bringing extra teeth felt reasonable since I was going to be spending extra time around a bunch of bats. I was bound to spot one that was missing teeth." Of course there was still the issue of installing the teeth. She hadn't thought that far ahead. If a Golbat really wanted the teeth she would offer them to it then direct it to her lab for proper care. Postponing her adventure to tend to an injured Pokemon felt like as good an excuse as any. She didn't pretend her motives were selfless. "Golbat teeth are strong enough to pierce through flesh but they are also incredibly fragile." She added after a few seconds of silence. The metallic replacement teeth often held up fairly well but a determined Golbat could probably still damage them if it really wanted to. The artificial teeth were still better than nothing. The sacs in Kiro's cheeks swelled slightly as he considered knocking the clueless bird off of Thade's shoulder with Gunk Shot. He decided against it after reminding himself that the Pidgey was still young. Younger Pokemon were bound to say stupid things more often than not. "Yes. He was." He offered, following it up with a low croak. Despite the Pidgey's enthusiasm, Kiro was clearly skeptical. His expression remained neutral but the way he held himself was enough to make exactly what he thought about the idea of Thade leading them anywhere clear. He hopped on ahead, croaking loudly in the hope that Walter or Kayuki might hear him. While he didn't necessarily need them to protect his trainer, the added help would be appreciated. Team Rocket were shady. If a fight did end up breaking out he had no doubt that it would be anything but clean. "Kiro doesn't like tall friend." Pantalaimon whispered up to the Pidgey. Kiro's reason for not liking Thadius was beyond the little Turtwig. He seemed plenty nice enough to him.
The doctor froze when the pink mist appeared, though the mist itself hadn't been the cause. She had not expected to grab her so suddenly. The threatening growl that came from Kiro brought her back to her senses. She quickly shushed the Croagunk, motioning for him to return to her side with her free hand. The pink mist was less concerning than her Croagunk trying to lash out at one of her few friends was. "Easy. I'm okay." She muttered to him while Thade was busy with the Musharna. Elfana watched Thadius and the Musharna patiently, waiting for her hand to be freed again. She appreciated the concern, though she did not feel it necessary. She rubbed her hand when he let go of it, not bothering to check for any sort of marks. Any bruises she had were most likely caused by her throwing herself off of a roof anyway. "Apologizing isn't necessary. I am not something that requires protecting but the gesture is appreciated." This was less because she was confident in her ability to protect herself and more that she simply didn't think herself worth the effort. A few more bumps and bruises could be dealt with. Had it been a real threat she would have preferred her prioritized keeping himself safe. "Shall we continue on? Walter must be worried." She offered the Musharna a polite nod before continuing on her way.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 33/25 Wild Encounter: 6/5 Item Posting: Vs. Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
Trying to give the woman the benefit of the doubt was something Thadius seemed to be struggling with more and more by the second as his mind continued to slowly return to him. No matter how he pictured it, carrying around spare parts for Pokemon just didn't seem like something one wouldn't consider unusual. In the end, the man chalked it up to her being a doctor. And a strange one at that. The Pidgey on Thade's shoulder was ing its head back and forth in an almost sing-song manner, as if listening to a beat only it could hear while it pondered the very un-elaborated response given it by Kiro. By the time the Pidgey had finally decided to question further against his better judgment, he felt the nudge of Thadius's finger beneath his chin, chirping pleasurable and losing his train of thought. "Ohhh, that is the spot~!" He chittered, all thoughts of the Steelix leaving his mind... For the moment. Once Thadius returned to following the younger woman, Little one peeked at the Turtwig before shooting the other pokemon a quizzical look. "Tall friend? You mean Mister Thadius? What is not to like about him?" He asked, not quite moving into the realm of defensiveness right away, but swelling just slightly all the same. His momma's trainer was the bestest one in the whole world, and while not many humans seemed to like Thadius, the Pidgey truly couldn't say he ever recalled meeting a Pokemon that hadn't liked him.
Frowning, The big man first shot Elfana an apologetic look before sharing the same look with Kiro for good measure. He didn't need to have been paying attention to know that the pokemon was not pleased with his touching Elfana. Crogunk were not always the nicest Pokemon in their natural states. Strong, intelligent, and independent creatures as they were when they found something they did respect enough to follow they typically didn't appreciate others threatening them. With a slight sigh, the man nodded, trying his best to force a weak smile and the words that came next in about as close to a joking manner as he was liable to get. "Would you believe me if I said it wasn't you I was worried about?" Not being able to trust one's own mind was not something that you could simply explain to another person and expect them to understand. Even amongst people diagnosed with the same issues he had, Thadius was aware that every case was unique. The one common trait they shared was that they were all frightening and generally did not end well. Acknowledging her with a non-threatening grunt, the man fell into step alongside the doctor once more as he allowed his brain to settle. "Feeling better?" Piggly asked curiously, drawing a quick look of gratitude from her trainer that told the Musharna all she needed to know. The creature worried for Thadius more than she let on, and more than she ever let the others in his party know. She was the only one who could see just how bad things were getting in his head and even stronger than her pity for him was the guilt the Musharna felt knowing in her heart of hearts that letting him sucker her into draining his dreams all the time for the sake of regurgitating them back as memories had only served to quicken the pace at which his condition was progressing. It DID work, the Musharna had to give the human credit. In the space between consciousness and full rem sleep, the man seemed to remember everything - so he had insisted she eat his dreams so that she could give them back to him later. Unfortunately, exposure to that type of psychic power over time was not healthy. Still, he was the boss and she trusted him.
Raising an eyebrow, the man began to rub the back of his neck in a nervous tick as his memories continued to very slowly return to him. He was beginning to recall why it was that he was actually here and now that he had, was beginning to question what kind of idiotic plan this really was. "Is Walter not back at the lab?" He asked, attempting to belay the conversation just a bit more. That was all he needed to decide whether or not he would call his original plans off. "On that topic... Why aren't you at the lab?" He asked, the second question actually more in true curiosity than in an attempt to stall the interaction to it's inevitable end.

Elfana Aroway Pantalaimon wanted to respond to Little One but he was too busy staring at the new friend that had just joined them. "Sky piggy~!" He squealed when it was determined that the "Sky Piggy" was not a threat. Sky pigs were not a thing you saw every day. Humans even made jokes about things happening when piggies fly because they were such an infrequent thing! That joke was weird considering there was a whole species of flying piggies but humans were weird things sometimes. The little Turtwig bounced in place, pausing occasionally to wave up at the pink Pokemon. "Hi pink friend~!" Even though her entrance had been scary, Pantalaimon had already decided that the Musharna was a friend. Kiro did not react as pleasantly to her. He scowled at the Musharna and at Thadius just to make sure it was clear that he didn't like or trust him. No amount of apologizing for touching his trainer was going to change that. Kiro croaked, pink energy flickering around his hands while he debated whether or not it would be worth removing the problems so they could continue on their journey in peace. The energy faded after a couple of seconds and he hopped on ahead. He could have sworn he heard Walter somewhere up ahead. Finding the Alakazam was more important. He could Teleport them out of there, which would render fighting unnecessary.
"Probably." Elfana would believe him if only because she didn't have a reason to doubt him. She paused, scanning the treeline when she heard a Pokemon moving around. It was much too small to be her Alakazam or Jynx but perhaps it was the elusive Buneary that Walter had been insisting she capture. Her expression changed to one of disgust when a Murkrow flew past them and into the branches overhead. "Foul beast." She cursed, remembering the feather she had touched in the mansion and her mental note to wash her hands as soon as possible. If they weren't her patients, she wanted nothing to do with bird Pokemon. Little One was only able to avoid her hostility because he was Thadius' Pokemon. She wiped her palms on her shirt, making yet another mental note. She needed to throw her shirt away. It was probably unsalvageable after her time in the Chateau anyway. 'I need a shower.' A long one at that. Though she was much too stubborn to admit it aloud, her body was sore and her feet were killing her. Walking around barefoot in the middle of a forest was not easy on them. "Kana." She responded to his question before she had even processed what he had asked. Elfana cleared her throat, a light pink blush appearing on her cheeks for the briefest of seconds before fading again. "My brother decided this would be good for me." She rolled her eyes, clearly not thrilled with the journey her twin had sent her on. He was lucky that she cared for him on some level otherwise she would have rejected the idea entirely. "The world outside of my lab isn't for me. It's unpleasant, loud...filthy." She grimaced, recalling the city she had passed through before entering the forest. "People are exhausting." This was added on as an afterthought. People were horrible but currently she was more focused on how awful her condition was. She desperately missed the sterile, cold environment inside of her lab. "All I have to do is humor him for a while and then I get to go home." Given that she still only had one badge, home felt painfully far away. "Walter came with me." The Alakazam and Doctor were near inseparable. Of course the Psychic Type wouldn't leave her to travel through a new region alone. He couldn't battle like her other Pokemon but he was excellent company. "My brother sent his Jynx along to keep me company as well." To babysit her. Kayuki was there to babysit her. Elfana was still bitter about that. She glanced down when she felt a bump against her ankle. Pantalaimon had booped his little nose against her. His trainer had sounded upset! She scooped him up and smiled softly, kissing the top of his head right next to his branch. "But I suppose it isn't all bad."
A loud croak in the distance caused her to freeze in place for a moment. Elfana looked like she was about to take off after the noise. She assumed the Kiro had encountered another Ghost. Had he not appeared with Walter soon after, Thadius would have been stuck chasing the doctor through Eterna Forest. "Elle! Where have you- Thadius?" Walter paused, staring at Thadius curiously until he was almost bowled over by the Jynx that was with him in her rush to get to Elfana. "Oh! Sugar, what happened to you?!" Kayuki grabbed Elfana, pulling her into a tight hug before looking her over. "You're a mess!" Walter left the Jynx to worry over the doctor while he approached Thadius. "It's been a while. How are you holding up?" Walter had no idea what happened to Elfana but seeing her with Thadius put his mind at ease. He was someone he could trust with his friend. The Alakazam raised an arm, awkwardly waving to the Musharna before dropping his arm back down when he noticed Little One. He quickly hid his hands behind his back. He did not know the little bird so he felt it best to behave as he would with any other young Pokemon that wasn't part of Elfana's hands. They typically didn't react will to his hands or had more questions than he was comfortable answering.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk), Walter (Alakazam), Kayuki (Jynx) Wearing: outfit Trainer Encounter: 34/25 Wild Encounter: 7/5 Item Posting: Vs. Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
The Musharna had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. The little green Pokemon beneath her was a child at best. She could smell the emotions of a naive Pokemon a mile away. As such, she refrained from tearing into him regarding the comment. Drowzee were swine. They were the pigs. Musharna and their less evolved forms were majestic in comparison. Thankfully she had heard every pig and flying pig joke in her many years of service to Thadius and had grown a thicker hide as a result. When the little creature waved up at her, she sighed. This particular 'piggy' was glad it had never had offspring of its own as Thadius's Magnus had chosen to do. She didn't have the patience to deal with children... That being said, the sweet aroma of such innocent dreams brought on a bit of nostalgia - and even a creature as hardened as herself had to admit he was sort of cute. In an annoying way. "Hello, green one." She offered in reply, continuing to float a bit behind her trainer while she probed his mind gently. She'd been gone for a while now and the longer the Musharna was apart from Thadius, the worse off his mind was... and the more irreparable damage there tended to be. With a slight whimper, the Musharna sniffled at the air and then laid eyes on Kiro. This one she was certain she knew, and even more certain that she didn't like. The emotions this one put out were borderline hostile. 'I'd like to see you try.' She mused via telepathy, sharing the thought with the frog. Thadius would not allow her to fight Elfana or harm her Pokemon for no reason, but if acting in self-defense... well, the Musharna giggled in her own strange way at the thought. Nicolai Dakari hadn't opted for another round with her and so she was feeling the urge to drain the dreams of SOMETHING.
When Elfana stopped, Thadius immediately followed suit out of habit and training, straining his eyes and ears in case the younger woman and her potentially better senses had picked up on something he had missed. He couldn't resist a near whisper of a chuckle when the bird Pokemon took flight, nodding in the direction it had taken off before casting a rather confused look at Elfana. She looked absolutely over the Murkrow. "Still not a fan of birds?" The man asked, one of his hands gently rubbing the Pokeball containing his oldest and most trusted of partners. He had never had a reason to ask what exactly her issue with feathered Pokemon was - especially given the dangerous and sometimes grotesque creatures he had brought to her in the past. She had treated them all with care - even the flyers, but you'd have had to have been blind not to notice that she wasn't exactly a fan of birds. "I bet it's the beady eyes." The Musharna whispered into his mind, wriggling in the air where she floated to show at least a partial agreement with the doctor's opinion on bird Pokemon. Thadius grunted a bit more aggressively without looking at his psychic type, causing the Musharna to whimper. Even when his mind wasn't working correctly Thadius knew that his floating pig's distaste of Bird types wasn't the same as Elfanas... No, the Musharna was simply jealous and upset it had never once defeated his prized Pokemon. Snapping from his thoughts at the mention of the name, the big man nodded once, then twice, continuing to do so for several long moments. He knew the other sibling, though not nearly as well as Elfana herself. By the time he had stumbled upon the talented young woman she was already capable of doing the work he required, so interaction with her sibling wasn't exactly high on his priority list. Even with that in mind, he'd heard about the young man more than once and was quite certain he'd met him at least as many times. As the look of embarrassment flashed over her features, Thadius chose to suddenly study a very nice looking tree to his right. He wasn't ashamed to have seen it but felt giving her the impression that she hadn't been caught looking flustered was more prudent. He respected her at least that much. "You were doing good work where you were." He commented, omitting the fact that he felt everyone could grow from a journey out into the world, especially someone like Elfana. Being cooped up inside your whole life probably wasn't doing her human social skills any good, and while he hadn't known her when she was a child, the man had the feeling she hadn't changed much growing up. "Perhaps there is some wisdom in his choice? You may yet learn a better way to help sick Pokemon." The man offered when she seemed to quickly show her distaste for her brother's decision. He hadn't actually meant to say anything else after verbally agreeing with her and ended up wriggling his nose in irritation of the fact that his mouth had essentially moved of its own volition. Since he had already blown the 'i agree with you' card, however, the man did find himself pressing on - even if it was in the form of what he could only see as a joke built to backfire on him. "Yes, the world you are now in is a bit dirty - isn't it?" He asked, nodding towards her bare feet. He did not even want to attempt to hazard a guess as to why she was out here without shoes, but her entire general appearance read 'over this' and perhaps there was a small, VERY SMALL, possibility that she wouldn't become upset at his barb.
Thadius had just been pondering whether or not he would be considered as prying if he asked what exactly she would gain or win from complying with her brother's request when he too heard the noises approaching them. Before the trio of Pokemon had even broken the treeline, the Musharna hovering just behind him whispered into his mind again. "It's the broken one." She stated plainly, drawing a look from her trainer that caused the Pokemon to cringe and immediately apologize. Of all of the Pokemon Thadius had seen under her care, Walter was one of his favorites - Alakazam were very Powerful psychic Pokemon, and although the man had owned one long ago, he never forgot their usefulness. Walter was... a special case in that regard since his ability to fight was all but washed away. Thadius didn't Pity the Pokemon though, he only respected it more for carrying on. He'd seen soliders lose their ability to fight - but it didn't make them any less incredible as human beings, this situation felt no different to the large man who cracked an honest to god smile when the Alakazam remembered his name. "I am as well as can be expected at my age Walter, and yourself?" He stated after offering the Alakazam a sharp but brief salute. He knew of Walter's condition and would still have probably offered the Pokemon a gentle handshake regardless - but the creature seemed a bit more guarded as a result of his Pidgey, something Thadius nipped in the bud before Little one and his keen eye could even begin to fathom a comment. "Little one, there is a time for speed-" The Pidgey, whose beak was wide open and about to speak, literally left its beak open, eyes flitting from Walter, the Thadius, to finally the Musharna who seemed to give the baby pokemon a very convincing 'i wouldn't if I were you'. slowly his beak closed even while his eyes clearly shone with unashamed curiosity. Instead of asking what he clearly had intended to, the Pidgey muttered the latter half to one of the mantra's Thadius had instilled in him. "And a time for Stealth." He muttered, opening a wing and adding before anyone could stop him- "Hi, i'm Little one, but I'm gonna be big soon!" Despite not speaking their language, Thadius relaxed a little knowing the Pidgey had caught his meaning. Unlike the others around him, Thadius didn't keep his particular condition to himself around Walter even though he was more than well aware that the Psychic Pokemon was probably incapable of seeing his damaged mind. Again, he respected Walter too much to insult his intelligence. Instead of saying anything aloud, he raised a fist and gently wrapped on the side of his skull a few times after verifying Elfana was still very much busy with the overprotective Jynx. Then he simply shrugged and forced a polite smile. Walter wasn't the only damaged goods in the Eterna forest today.

Elfana Aroway "I would do more than "try"." Kiro spat back, following it up with a low growl. He didn't care what the power difference was between himself and the Musharna. If he decided she was a threat to his trainer he would do everything within his power to tear her apart. His trainer could repair any damage that was done to his body. What he lacked in power he more than made up in determination and an utter lack of self-preservation. He settled down a bit when he felt Pantalaimon bump his head against his back. The Turtwig had no idea what was upsetting the "leader" of Elfana's active team and he wanted to try to settle him down. He was hurt from his time in the mansion and did not need to be getting into a fight in his current condition. Kiro scowled and crossed his arms. The floating pink pig was not worth the effort anyway. He turned his attention to Elfana and Kayuki. The Jynx had finally stopped picking at her, likely because of how uncomfortable the doctor looked. As far as Elfana was concerned, the only good thing that had come from all of the worrying over her had been the fact that she finally had her glasses back. She slipped them on, blinking a couple of times while she adjusted to being able to see properly again. "Much better."
"Never have been and never will be." She remarked finally on his question about her feelings towards birds. Flying Pokemon were just fine. She had nothing against them. Birds, however, were something she would never be comfortable with. She tolerated them for her work but otherwise avoided them as much as possible. They weren't a necessity. There were plenty of other Pokemon that could Fly her from place to place if the need ever arose. 'He would have been a Charizard by now.' She thought to herself, a ghost of a smile appearing on her lips before fading again. Her original guardian would have been a Charizard and he would have been traveling with Kana instead. Kana was the trainer. She was not. Expecting him to stay locked up in a lab with her was entirely unreasonable but she still couldn't help the small twinge of jealousy she felt. "At any rate birds are-" She trailed off, recalling the Little One was a thing. Given that there was a small Pidgey currently with Thadius, she decided to avoid going into her reasoning for disliking birds. Young Pokemon were impressionable. Little One didn't need to listen to her tearing down this rest of his feathered kin. She decided to push the thoughts about birds to the back of her mind when Kayuki offered the doctor her bag. Shoes and a proper coat took priority over tirades about the feathered menace. She began digging through her things, taking her coat out and dropping the first pair of heels she could find on the ground next to her. A normal person might have thought it unwise to go stumbling around a forest in a pair of heels but she did not care. Heels were what she was most comfortable in. She slipped her coat on, taking her time buttoning it and straightening it out so she could regain some sense of normalcy through her appearance. While she was far from vain when it came to how to she looked, maintaining her appearance was one of the few things that gave her any sense of control in her current situation. She needed that feeling if she planned on getting through the rest of the region. "A bit dirty feels like an understatement." She replied flatly, well aware of how she currently looked. Kayuki looked ready to snap at him in her place but Elfana more or less accepted his comment. "I am not an adventurer. Traveling, interacting with other people, exploring "new things"....that really isn't me." She kneeled down, slipping her heels on then standing up straight again. It felt nice to have something covering her feet. "I wouldn't go as far as to call myself an introvert but I am antisocial and generally hostile to the vast majority of other people." She paused for a moment to brush her bangs and hair back. Her hair was never neat but she at least wanted it to be out of the way. "My brother likely felt that I was stagnating where I was but I have to disagree. My work was thriving." Her work was. Elfana, as a person, was not. Some small part of her knew and acknowledged this...but the rest of her adamantly refused to do so. Maybe she could learn new ways to help Pokemon. Maybe this journey would make her grow as a person. Maybe this would make her open up herself some to new experiences...There were far too many uncertanties for her liking. She didn't care for them one bit.
Elfana shrugged, her attention turning to her phone. She needed to figure out if one of the Rotoms she caught would be able to inhabit it or if she needed to buy a better phone. Either option was fine by her. This momentary distraction gave Walter an opportunity to raise one of his hands and struggle to move his fingers any. He managed a small twitch but that was all. He folded his hands behind his back again soon after. His condition hadn't improved any since he had last seen Thadius but he appeared to be in good spirits. "This is an interesting region. I've been enjoying the time out of the lab." Walter was viewing this as a vacation. He wouldn't even dream of leaving Elfana alone in the lab so this was probably the only chance he was going to get to spend some time away from it for a while. He kept his expression cheerful when Thadius gently tapped on the side of his head on the off chance that Elfana chose then to look their way. His eyes didn't hide his concern nearly as well as his face did. Thadius was a good man. He didn't deserve to be deteriorating as he was. He offered Little One a friendly smile and tilted his head. "Oh? Bigger than you are now? You'll be towering over all of us before long." He chuckled. Walter adored younger Pokemon. They were full of so much potential. Pantalaimon stared up at Little One, his eyes wide with awe. "Does that mean he'll be even bigger than Anta....Ant...Anty?" The Turtwig was trying to picture a bird bigger than an Onix. That sounded truly intimidating. "That means you'll be the bestest, strongest bird! You'll be able to protect everyone! Like a superhero!" Walter couldn't help but grin at Pantalaimon's enthusiasm, though he was curious when the little Turtwig had learned about the Doctor's Steelix. He would have to ask the doctor about that later.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk), Walter (Alakazam), Kayuki (Jynx) Wearing: outfit, coat, shoes Trainer Encounter: 35/25 Wild Encounter: 8/5 Item Posting: Vs. Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
The floating psychic Pokemon giggled again at Kiro's retort. Fighting Pokemon were always quick to violence and threats, and poison Pokemon weren't usually far behind. Meeting a Pokemon that was both was almost too much for the Musharna to resist. Yet, on the whole, resist she did. Master Dakari was in good spirits but she knew better than to push her luck while he was around, besides - there was no contest to even be had as far as she was concerned. He was but a mere tadpole throwing barbs at a shark. Then again, the Musharna saw most pokemon in the same light even if they were an actual threat so that was less than surprising. Once she had resolved herself not to pick the frog apart, she began to take in the rest of Elfana's team, rating them on a scale of one to ten - with ten being equal to herself and therefore impossible. For a moment, her eyes fell on Walter however, and she seemed to consider how that fight might actually go. She would admit this to absolutely no one, but the Musharna was a huge fan of the spoon wielding psychic pokemon from Kanto. They were just... SO COOL! Her cheeks began to flush slightly at the embarrassing thought only to return to normal as, unfortunately, this one had been broken since the day she'd met him so he was disqualified in that regard. Still, she could smell psychic energy on the alakazam, and even if he couldn't wield it correctly, or at all if the general vibe of his condition was to be believed - it was a LOT of latent power. 'He must have been a fine warrior in his time.' she thought in a mix of gloom and curiosity.
Thadius raised his hands defensively, completely willing to drop the subject on bird pokemon from the moment she opened her mouth. It was a lost cause trying to convince her otherwise, even if he hadn't known her as long as he had. Some trainers simply didn't like certain types of Pokemon - though for the life of him Thadius would never understand why. They were all beautiful in some way in his mind. When she smiled, only to begin speaking on the subject of bird pokemon once again, the man had to admit there was a millisecond where he actually thought she might have even one fond memory of a feathered avian. Whether or not she actually did or not was something that would probably be lost to time, however, since she immediately found herself distracted by the equipment offered to her by the Jynx. Almost subconsciously, Thadius reached into a pouch on his belt and retrieved a small pellet, holding it up for the Pidgey who gobbled it down quickly while wearing a look of confusion on its beaked face. Little one wasn't used to getting treats for no apparent reason, but Thadius had figured if the little bird had understood enough of what was said to feel any particular way about it, a treat was the best way to make him forget. He watched her dress and managed to withhold any comments about her choice of footwear even though his generally passive expression did shift just a bit. That couldn't have been the most efficient footwear for the job of a trainer - but this wasn't your average woman so that might have had something to do with it. 'At least she had the sense to take them off before diving into that ghostly mansion.' He thought, trying to see the bright bit in what his military mind was screaming as being a blasphemous act. "Better to understate than exaggerate in my opinion" The man offered, rolling his shoulders to free up some of the tension that had tried to find a home there. While that was entirely inaccurate for his work - Thadius had found that the younger generations tended to exaggerate every single thing that they saw or did. It was a cause for confusion and irritation as far as the older man was concerned. One should simply state things as they are, which in her case - wasn't far from the truth. "I've seen worse, back in the war in Jhoto, there was this-" The man stopped cold, frowning suddenly. Part of him realized that he shouldn't simply go on ranting about stories no one cared to hear, and truthfully? The other part of him realized instantaneously that while he knew the story to be funny, he wouldn't have been able to finish it anyway. He couldn't remember the details anymore, even with the Musharna's help. Clearing his throat, Thadius raised a finger like a child who wanted to use the bathroom during class, choosing to change the subject outright, subtly be damned. "I gathered you are on an adventure, I assume to collect all the badges in this region if you can. I also know you well enough to know that you aren't exactly happy about it. So that leaves me a bit curious... Why?" She had already all but stated her sibling had sent her on this quest of quests, but the reason why she would listen to him and simply up and march seemed lost to him. Siblings as they may be, Thadius had once had a brother and his favorite past time had been exclusively doing things his older brother didn't want him doing while ignoring any requests the bigger man had made. Or, it had when they were children anyway.
Once Elfana found herself busy with the mobile electronic device - Thadius turned his full attention to Walter once more and cracked yet another smile, one that held firm even when the Alakazam confirmed it had not gotten any better either. Frowning would only serve as a detriment and, again, Thadius didn't feel as though his condition warranted pity or sorrow. It simply was what it was to him. Apparently Walter felt the same way, returning a friendly look that the older man appreciated more than he could really let on. Then Walter began to speak in Pokemon once more, leaving the red and grey-haired man to raise an eyebrow curiously as his Pidgey began to squawk back. He could only pray that Little One was minding his manners.
"I'm gonna be so big! Even bigger than Mama!" He chirped happily, spreading his wings as wide as they would go... Which wasn't much given that he was both a Pidgey and a very young one at that. He hadn't even lost all of his baby feathers yet! When the little turtle-like Pokemon chimed in, Little one ed his head to the side curiously, trying to guess at whatever Pantalaimon was attempting, and failing to say. In the end it didn't even matter, the Pidgey's eyes shining with pride and the hint of an exciting tear at the thought of being able to save everyone! That had to be like, at least a hundred people! "Like a super hero.." He chittered in a voice close to a whisper, clearly lost in whatever fantastical daydream a child could possibly produce with such an imagination. He was going to be the world's biggest, bestest, most heroic Pidgeot someday and when he did, he would have to remember to come back and thank the little turtle for believing in him. That was the least a real hero could do, right?

Elfana Aroway Elfana busied herself searching for one of the Rotom Pokeballs in her pocket, hoping that the one she ended up grabbing would be the fleeing Rotom that they had encountered just before leaving the mansion. Alas, luck was not on her side. The Rotom she released was anything but thrilled to see her. Elfana stared at the Rotom with one hand on her hip, the other still mindlessly scrolling through her phone. She was entirely unimpressed by the static buzz and chatter coming from the Rotom. When he was finished with his tantrum he stared his new trainer down, irritated by the fact that she wasn't giving him the attention he deserved. He was trying to express how frustrated he was with the screeching fossil and the fact that he was captured and this stupid human couldn't care less. Hoji made a sound that could have been him taking a deep breath before speaking again. "What do you want?" If the human wasn't going to let him rant then she could at least tell him what he was out of his Pokeball for! Only...she didn't even look at him. She kept playing with that Arceus forsaken phone! The Rotom looked increasingly more frustrated as Elfana continued to mess with her phone until finally he took the device over. He wasn't going to give her a choice. She was going to talk to him! "What do you want?!" The Rotom snapped, his voice coming through loud and clear now that he was inhabiting the phone. A slow, mischievous smirk broke out across Elfana's lips. "To see if my phone was compatible with a Rotom. Thank you for confirming it for me." Had it been the other Rotom she would have simply asked for its help. This one had been difficult though. She was punishing him for his comments in the mansion. The Rotom made a strangled noise, trying to come up with a decent retort. "Bi-" Though he sounded more amused than angry at that point, Elfana still muted her phone. "Baby Pokemon present. Watch your language." She said simply before storing the phone away in her coat pocket. If Hoji managed to behave until they got back to the city she would see about getting him one of those neat watches some trainers used for communicating to live in instead.
Her focus on her phone hadn't prevented her from hearing Thadius's question. She was still paying attention to what he had been saying- though she had clearly missed the exchange between the man and the Alakazam. Why had she left her lab? The answer was painfully simple. Much more so than she would have liked. She tried to see if she could come up with something better than the response she knew she was going to inevitably give. When nothing came to her, she sighed and shrugged slowly. "Curiosity." She was, by nature, an excessively curious creature. Kana's behavior coupled with the fact that the request had come from seemingly nowhere had peaked her interest. As much as she hated being away from her lab, she hated the idea of not solving the "mystery" more. There was something going on and she needed answers. Completing the quest Kana had sent her on would provide those answers. Perhaps that was why she was so determined to avoid reading the letter she had gotten after the first gym. Her frustration and anger had died down long after entering the forest but she still hadn't thought to touch the letter. She was treating them as hints to a puzzle that she was determined to figure out on her own. "There's something going on and this is the only way to figure out what it is. Kana won't answer his phone. His communicating through letters and Saiphe." Thadius had been around her enough that she felt it safe to assume he had encountered the Lucario at least once- though she doubted he would remember him. "I'm going to complete his challenge and find the answers I'm looking for."
"The bestest superhero! You need a cool hero name! All heroes have cool names!" Pantalaimon had totally latched on to the idea of Little One becoming a superhero. His trainer had to be one already. Why else would he be wearing such a cool outfit? The Turtwig bounced in a circle around Walter's feet, laughing and squealing excitedly. He was, much like the Pidgey, still a child. He had become just as lost in the delightful daydream as Little One had. Walter smiled as he watched the two younger Pokemon. "They're discussing being heroes." He knew Thadius couldn't understand the younger Pokemon so her decided to inform the man of their conversation so he knew the Pidgey was behaving. "I miss having that much energy." He added, more to himself than anyone else. Despite being an older Pokemon and broken as he was, Walter was still holding up fairly well. He was able to travel across a region with his friend- which was more than some Pokemon could say. Kayuki decided to add to the children's fun, focusing her attention on them now that she was sure Elfana was going to be fine. "You'll need a costume as well." Maybe something like a cute little mask. She couldn't imagine a Pidgey comfortably wearing a cape. It might get caught up in his wings while he was flying. Pantalaimon paused his hopping, his eyes wide with excitement and childish wonder. "That would be so awesome! What sort of costume would fit the bestest bird hero?"Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk), Walter (Alakazam), Kayuki (Jynx), Geno (Pawniard) Wearing: outfit, coat, shoes Trainer Encounter: 36/25 Wild Encounter: 9/5 Item Posting: Vs. Thadius 'Thade' Dakari
Thadius, Little one, and even the snappy Musharna watched the near-silent exchange between Elfana and her Rotom with piqued interest. Although to be fair, the silence was really only on Thadius's part, Little one cringed several times at the static noises the Rotom was making while Musharna stifled several giggles, only to laugh aloud when the Rotom took over her phone. "Amature." She commented under her breath as the Rotom fell into a pretty simple human trap. Some Pokemon were so dramatic and hungry for attention that they didn't see the bigger picture. Plus he was a ghost type so, anything unfortunate or irritating that happened to one of them was more than okay with the floating dream pig. "Not the method I would have used but..." The bigger man stated simply, rubbing his chin several times over while he contemplated the events before him. To be fair, he tended to punish Pokemon he'd recently captured that were less than cooperative - but he found his methods to be less... Childish. Or that was how he saw it anyway. Then again, he had the feeling that this particular Rotom hadn't been the nicest before its capture. The man was still mentally processing the scenario with the Rotom and what he would have done differently when she finally seemed to respond to a question he had already forgotten he had asked. "You asked about her trip." The Musharna interrupted in his mind, causing him to growl a bit in a begrudging sort of gratitude. He really needed to work on at least his short term memory, forgetting things that happened a long time ago was fine, forgetting things that happened in the last sixty seconds was not. "Curiosity?" Knowing full and well that the one-word answer she'd given should have been enough to settle his request. He himself, while no scientist - was no stranger to curiosity, it was something that had gotten him into considerable trouble in the past but, such was life right? As she began to elaborate, the dull haired man smirked just a bit. He hadn't known Kana all that well, but this sort of thing practically screamed intervention. Ignoring your own sibling until they complied and followed a trail. That sounded just a touch familiar though he'd never be able to place his finger on it. "Saiphe?" He asked quizically, only to have the Musharna mentally remind him again before he corrected. "Oh - the Lucario. I see now. It sounds to me as though your brother really wanted this quest for you. I'm sure he has his reasons... Good reasons." What Thadius did NOT mention, was the possibility that her brother was pulling the long-con of the very same psychology that caused the Rotom to jump into Elfy's phone. Just a hint, and then complete silence until one was spurred into doing exactly what you wanted.
Little one had lost interest in the conversation between the humans, especially after the Rotom had been probably about to say a word his mommy wouldn't have approved of. The little turtle creature was waaaay more interesting anyway. Bobbing up and down on Thadius's shoulder, the Pidgey fluttered down so that he could sit in front of Pantalaimon. At that point, he simply continued to bob up and down excitedly, his eyes growing ever wider as they spoke back and forth. "Oh! Oh! I was thinking the same thing! Um, um, I don't know!" Little one admitted when confronted with what was possibly the hardest question he'd ever been asked- his little feet waddling as he attempted to chase the Turtwig around Walter. The action caused Thadius to cast a quick glance his way - but after Walter explained the situation the look became more of a 'behave' and less of a 'cease and desist', so Little one just kept on playing. "What about - Skyscr!? Or... Um, um - Hurricane! ...Zapdos?" That last one was totally out of the question, Zapdos would smite any Pokemon foolish enough to try and claim its name - but it was still a cool thought! Thadius Chuckled, causing Little one to stop and stare at his trainer curiously. "You and me both Walter, you and me both." It was amusing to have an older fellow around - even if the older fellow in question was a Pokemon. These kids would not know the struggle associated with simply sitting up and stretching in the morning that himself and, he assumed, Walter did, for a long, long time. When Kayuki, Pantalaimon, and Little one all seemed to begin chattering back and forth excitedly once again, he raised an eyebrow at Walter questioningly. The two baby Pokemon he could understand, but whatever the adult had added to their conversation seemed to get them a little two stirred up - his Pidgey flapping his little wings excitedly and leaping up an down. "I wanna mask! And a scarf! and a cool feather in my mask from like, another hero! Oh! A Zapdos feather!" He wasn't even sure if Zapdos had actual feathers or they could even come off - but he needed one for his outfit now if he was going to be the best bird superhero of all time! Almost as an afterthought, the Pidgey seemed to stop its reverie in mid jump, ing it's head towards Pantalaimon and whispering suddenly. "Will... Will you be my sidekick?"

Elfana Aroway "It's been too long of a day to not seize the opportunity to have fun when it's presented." The difficult Rotom had not been the one she had wanted but he had provided her with an opportunity to try to enjoy herself- if only for a minute or two. While it didn't sound like much, dealing with the Rotom had been one of the high points of her day- second only to reconnecting with what she considered to be an old friend. When it seemed like he had forgotten Saiphe she wasn't exactly surprised. He hadn't interacted with other Aroway twin as much. She smiled slightly when he seemed to recall that Saiphe was a Lucario. "I'm sure we won't hear the end of it when he finds us next."Walter murmured to her. The Alakazam had moved to try to straighten out her hair as best he could manage. "Won't be a problem if we can Teleport away fast enough." They had wandered pretty far off of the path the Lucario would have expected them to take. She was sure he was less than thrilled that the person he was supposed to be following had vanished so suddenly. "If his reasoning is anything less than excellent then he's going to end up a test subject for the human limbs I've been developing." She scowled and crossed her arms. The doctor probably wouldn't actually harm her twin...probably. She could still threaten him all she wanted and find other ways to make his life difficult.
Pantalaimon did his best to bob along with the Pidgey. The already awkward action for the little turtle was made worse by his need to continue bouncing as he bobbed. This made him stumble on several occasions but even when he did finally fall he got right back up and continued to play. "Oh! OH! Skyscr! The bestest hero around! He swoops down from the sky and knocks away the bad guys with his powerful talons!" Pantalaimon stared wide eyed at Little One, his eyes practically sparkling with excitement. "Or you could fly down and pick up things like cars or buses to get the people inside away from scary things!" A Bird superhero had so much potential to do good. He squealed and stood up on his back legs so he could clap his feet excitedly. Kayuki tipped her hat to Thadius before she settled down on the ground near the younger Pokemon, adjusting her dress so her long hair rested on it instead of in the dirt. "Costumes, sugar. All good superheroes have costumes." She explained herself with a friendly smile before turning her attention back to the children. Pantalaimon had already tripped once. The Jynx was making sure neither of them got hurt if they stumbled again. "Getting a Zapdos feather can be your first big challenge as a hero 'cause that sounds really hard!" Pantalaimon knew very little about Legendary Pokemon but he did know that Zapdos was a very big and very intimidating bird. Getting one of its feathers would mean you were truly strong! His bouncing came to a pause when he was asked to be Little One's sidekick. He let out an ecstatic cry and nodded quickly. "Yes! We could be the coolest hero duo ever! You could protect everyone from the sky and I could keep them safe from the ground!" His eyes widened again and he stared at Little One with a look of childlike wonder. "If we can find a Water Type we could be a trio that protects everyone from everywhere!" Nobody would ever get hurt again if they could protect them from all the places!
While Elfana and the other Pokemon were busy with Thadius's group, Kiro had wandered off to try to find a way back to town. He knew Elfana hated Eterna City but they needed to get back there sooner or later if she wanted to get her next badge...that was the excuse he was going with anyway. The more time she spent around Thadius, the more opportunities the man had to harm her or her team. His trainer was safer in Eterna City. He hopped along until he found what he believed to be a path through the forest. If there was a path, it was bound to lead back towards the city or at least somewhere they wasn't Eterna Forest. He made a mental note of the location of the path before turning to head back towards his trainer...only to collide with a way too curious Buneary. Kiro hopped back and croaked his annoyance at the poor rabbit before recalling that the doctor had been looking for a Buneary...He stared at the Buneary while he rubbed his now sore face. 'That's what you get for being so damn nosy.' The Croagunk rolled his eyes, his sacs rapidly filling with poisonous gunk that was spat directly at the rabbit. The end result was a fainted rabbit covered in purple liquid. That sounded like a him problem though. Kiro grabbed the Buneary by the arm and began dragging it along with him until he found his trainer again. He deposited the Buneary at her feet before hopping up on to her shoulders. "Found one." He shrugged, watching as Elfana retrieved a Pokeball from her bag and lazily tossed it at the Buneary. She let the storage system claim it from there. "Good job." Elfana smiled at her Croagunk, who only shrugged again before pointing in the direction of the path. "That way then?" Kiro nodded. "Very well. We'll move on soon."

While Walter and Elfana seemed to break off into their own conversation, Thadius took a step back from the group and took in long, slow breaths, letting the mist the Musharna had begun emitting over his shoulder seep into his system. He had no idea how it actually worked, the pink mist wasn't a sleep powder by any means - and he wasn't even sure that it really did anything at all naturally. But his Pokemon had found a way to make it help with his condition and that was enough for him. The more he took in, the clearer his mind seemed to become... The downside to this was that normally they didn't let this process go on for too long, as apparently it had some negative side effects that worsened to overall issue he was having. Finally, The man sighed, his brain wasn't going to get any better than it was now, he could clearly picture the Lucario he could scarcely recall earlier and that was about as good a memory as he could ask for. Although he had missed most of the bulk of the initial conversation, Thadius frowned when he heard what his mind should have immediately framed as sarcasm. "You aren't really growing human limbs are you?" He asked, only to have a moment of realization and then shake his head, rebuking the question entirely. She didn't like people enough to grow human limbs he imagined. Not the best rationalization for it, but it was something.
Little one had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA why they were still jumping and bobbing but he had no intention of stopping! Even when the Turtwig began to explain all of the amazing things he could... well, PROBABLY do, if he really tried, Little one continued to bob and chitter excitedly. "Yes! I could throw buses at the bad guys! I need a catchphrase, all superheroes have c-" Little one stopped, his happy dance obliterated by the new input from the other Pokemon that he hadn't quite considered. She was right. She was so right! You couldn't be a superhero if you didn't have a sweet costume. That was like, the most important part! Instantaneously, the Pidgey's mind left the realm of reality as he mentally began trying on different colors, bows, capes - did he even need a cape? Of course he did! Had Little one a lip to bite down on, he certainly would have at the mention of obtaining a Zapdos feather. "I really, REALLY wish I had hands..." He muttered quietly, knowing he would have to try like SUPER hard to remember all of this stuff since he couldn't write anything down for later. Then again, Little one couldn't read either so that probably wouldn't have done him any good anyway. Even whilst processing all of this, Pantalaimon's acceptance and suggestion of gathering a water Pokemon that could swim got through to him... And when it did, Little one fell over, eyes glazed as his mind was as close to literally blown as it could get without a bullet. "So ...SO cool." He whispered, his eyes a bit glazed over while he tried to imagine something so incredible that even his childlike mind couldn't fathom it.
His brain back up to - well, as close as it was going to be to one hundred percent, Thadius nodded respectfully at the Musharna who seemed drained somehow, as if sharing the memories in bulk took that much effort. For All Thadius knew, it very well could be a draining experience, he couldn't say since he did not possess that power. He took a few long-legged steps towards Elfana and company, his eye twitching at a Pidgey that reminded him now of way too many soldiers who'd had too much to drink back in his day. "I didn't mean to keep you waiting this long. That was rude of me given the type of day I imagine you've been having." He stated plainly, not even noticing the slight change in his own posture or tone. "I came to ask you for a favor and nothing more, but we can walk towards your destination to save time while I... Explain the situation. If you can't do it, I understand. If you can, well, you know I return my favors in kind." That last bit had the edge of a dangerous man half his age, but he meant it all the same. When one called on A Dakari for a favor, usually they weren't the nice - 'go get me a few potions from the market' kind of favors. That being said, Thadius typically didn't let his demons bother him too much, and what was one more? The internal monologue brought a bit of a scowl to his face, but not because he had been wrong about what he was willing to do. He cast his tired eyes on the woman and forced a smirk. She didn't like people but suspected she wasn't the type of person who would ask him to break someone's legs, steal their pokemon, or kill them. chances are he'd be hunting some type of rare and impossible to find part for a wildly unnecessary prosthetic or something. The man seemed to pick up on what the frog Pokemon was hinting as the right direction, gesturing the others gently to move when ready before whistling a quick and sharp note that shook the Pidgey from its mental meltdown just long enough to flutter back up and rest on his shoulder. "Where to?" He asked, part to continue pleasant conversation, but mostly so that he could have Little one make course corrections if need be. Navigators didn't get lost, even retired ones.

Elfana Aroway "Growing...? Oh. No. Prosthesis." Though growing artificial body parts might be fun too...That is a thing she could explore another day. The human prosthesis were entirely the result of boredom. There had been a lull in her patients for a while- which wasn't necessarily a bad thing- that had left her with more free time than she knew what to do with. As a result she needed to find new ways to keep herself busy. Developing prosthesis for humans became her "fun" project. The majority of the limbs were left unfinished. A single arm was the only thing that came anywhere near complete- though it was unlikely it would ever be used. It had been built around what she would need if she lost a limb. She didn't plan on losing one of her arms any time soon. "I'm sure I could learn to grow them too." She muttered to herself. Thadius had unintentionally planted a terrible idea in her head. Were she not away from her lab, she would likely be pursuing it. She didn't think she had the patience to go back to school so her work with actually growing limbs would be...less than legal. That wasn't much of a change. She was sure working "for" different teams by taking care of their Pokemon fell into some sort of legal grey area.
"We could team up with something big and awesome! Like a Gary-dos!" Pantalaimon had stopped his bouncing, too busy considering how amazing their team could look. Gyarados might be too big an scary for the other Pokemon and humans. From what he had heard they were angry things too. "Gary-dos might make a better villain." The Turtwig muttered, laying down with his front legs folded under his head. "Something big but not too scary for humans..." This had turned into a puzzle for Pantalaimon that he was determined to find the answer to. They needed to know what their third teammate would be so they could find one and become the strongest hero trio ever! "A Lapras, perhaps?" Kayuki offered. The little turtle looked up at her and tilted his head. "What's a Lapras?" He had never heard of Lapras before! Were they cool like Gyarados? The Jynx smiled and gestured towards her back. "They are large, blue Pokemon with shells on their backs. Their size might be intimidating but they are actually gentle and kind. A Lapras could carry people and Pokemon to safety." Pantalaimon looked over at Little One, a few seconds short of resuming his dancing. He needed his partner's approval before the Lapras was okayed. Lapras sounded so cool though! If they had to rescue people from a sinking boat the Lapras would be able to carry all of them! "It's like the bestest lifeboat!"
Elfana was pulled from her thoughts about her potential new hobby when Thadius's tone shifted slightly. It seemed the conversation was taking a more serious turn. She went over and picked up Pantalaimon, knowing all that bouncing and bobbing would soon catch up with the Turtwig. He would need a nap before they continued on to the Gym. "What kind of favor?" Favors from her usually involve working aggressive Pokemon- something she was fine with most of the time. This didn't sound like one of those kinds of favors. "Lead the way, Kiro." The Croagunk was staring hard at Thadius, the sacs on his cheeks beginning to swell. Somehow the tone had made him trust him even less than he had previously. He turned his head, looking back in the direction he had came before hopping on ahead. Elfana followed a few steps behind him. "I have no reason to believe you'll ask me to do something too horrible." Which was her equivalent of saying she had no reason to turn down his request. She trusted him. "Repaying me isn't necessary." Someone she considered to be a friend was asking for her assistance with something. She was happy to help.Partners: SorukaNyoki Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk), Walter (Alakazam), Kayuki (Jynx), Geno (Pawniard) Wearing: outfit, coat, shoes Trainer Encounter: 38/25 Wild Encounter: 6/5 Item Posting: Vs. "I see, I see." He responded, pausing a moment when he thought he saw the gears in her head turning only to add quickly. "Please forget I said anything. That isn't an avenue I'd recommend." Despite his request, he knew how these things went. Elfana reminded him heavily of his wife. Once she got rolling, there was no stopping her - she was like an avalanche. Elfana seemed much the same, though in a less 'kill them all, and let Arceus sort them out' kind of way. The Doctor Frankenstein image in his head based on the look Elfana currently wore wasn't really all that much better though. "Moving on." He stated, in an attempt to turn the conversation to less potentially horrifying avenues. He fell into step beside the doctor as she continued to move, easily matching her pace given his long legs. It was important to ensure you could see the person you were requesting a favor from. His mind was as clear as it was going to get, yet something still nagged at Thadius - he felt like he'd 'had this perfect plan to solve two different problems. One for his son, and one for the doctor. But even with the help of the Musharna - The older man could not even hazard a guess as to how he had originally planned this all to work out. 'Follow the pieces you have.' He thought to himself, trusting that he had taken his bad memory into account when constructing such an elaborate idea. Assuming it had actually ever been elaborate in the first place. "There is a young man, though - not too much younger than yourself. He is exploring the Hoenn region on a Pokemon trainer's journey, just as you are here. He is...Dangerous." Thadius was fully aware that he had meant to specify that the man in question was his son, but his tongue had omitted that truth in favor of another truth. Many nights the older man had spent debating what to do with his son. He hadn't seen the boy in over a decade - not unless it was through a scope, he could not bring himself to face the young Nicolai Dakari. Not after what had happened to his mother - after he had failed to protect his wife. No, in Thade's opinion, being dead and a 'hero' in his son's mind was better than the reality of knowing he was both alive, and a coward. Many nights, Thadius had dismissed the premonitions of his Musharna, and that other creature that sometimes came to visit. Then he had experienced the nightmares - visions shown to him of the potential futures where his son completed the Pokemon journey he embarked on and became champion. Those always ended in cataclysmic scenarios. But what scared him more than the horrifying visions all those lost Pokemon, all the bodies in the wake of his son's plan - was that in his mind, they were realistic. Believable. The son had taken far too many qualities of the father - and the skills he had obtained... In a dark and terrible sort of way, Thadius was proud of how efficient his son had become, but that feeling was overshadowed drastically by what the man saw his son doing with such skills. Would Thadius have been the same had he not had someone to steer him on a different path? Was this what became of someone with such potential but no one to teach them right from wrong? Growling, low and long, the man shook himself from the mental track he had been following - shooting an apologetic look to Elfana before finally continuing. "I was going to kill him." The man managed to speak this clearly and without emotion, but his eyes darkened just a shade. He really had considered killing Nicolai. But in the end he simply couldn't do it. Not without trying a different alternative first. "I'm not a killer anymore, not unless I have to be. But it's the only thing I'm good at. I don't see myself giving this individual a speech and turning his life around... but I would also prefer not to kill him. Even with his words as cool and firm as they always were, it was clear he was fidgeting somewhat while simultaneously trying to explain the situation without revealing his hand. "Currently I've set him on a course he will be unable to resist. The young man seeks Power - as many young men do. So I've given him a challenge to seek and find what he wants. However, that path should, unless I've lost my touch, make him aware of your existence." Thade's dark eyes twitched at his own words. He'd already gone ahead and put Nicolai onto Elfana without her permission. The man had no doubts she'd had an opinion on that but it was too late to take it back now - so he pressed on, the art of conversation exhasuting him more than any physical challenge he'd ever experienced. "I've painted you in such a light that no harm will come to you. You will be more important to him than you are to me. That being said, I... I don't know exactly what to expect of this to be honest. But I would like you to meet him if you could. Appraise him. He's going to need your help, so I suspect he will be compliant. In truth, Thade knew exactly what he expected - he simply didn't want to tell Elfana everything. That his son was lonely even if he didn't know it and that meeting a beautiful woman like Elfana who also had a strong will of her own might curb the road he was on. That perhaps the two of them might become friends even being that they shared several of the same qualities... Or that at the very least, her love of Pokemon and dislike to human beings might somehow balance his hatred of Pokemon and love of humanity. Stop him from making the greatest mistake of his life. Sucking in a breath, the man let loose a heavy sigh. He was not good at these types of things. In response to her refusing payment, Thadius nodded while knowing full well he'd still have to pay her back for this. He hadn't seen his son face to face in over a decade but if he was half as bad as he seemed from a distance... This would be more than a simple favor. Little one ed its head from side to side, contemplating the word. He'd never seen a gyarados before but he was pretty sure it was a huge water snake thing. And also super powerful. After several moments of contemplating, Little one began to nod, though slowly at first, his head picking up speed in agreement as he considered how awesome an enemy a gyarados could possibly be. When the Jynx brought up a potential Lapras in their party, Little one giggled, chirping out the equivalent of 'yes, yes, a million times yes!'. He did not know what a gyrados was but a Lapras was something he was more than familiar with and personally he thought they were super cute! Plus they could shoot ice out of their mouths and carry him across the ocean when his wings were tired! "Yes! I want a Lapras on our team... Although that means we might need a cart to put him on when we are crossing through a desert. Bad guys like deserts... But that's okay!" This was quickly shaping up to be the best idea ever... Now if he could just evolve twice, get his friend to evolve however many times he needed to, and then FIND a lapras... Oh and also get costumes and Thade's blessing - THEN they could be the best super hero team ever!!

Elfana Aroway His lack of enthusiasm towards the idea didn't dissuade her. She played with the idea in her head and would have started to mull over it had he not continued on to explain the favor he wanted. Elfana remained silent throughout his speech, the way she mindlessly patted her Turtwig's shell signaling that she might be entirely uninterested or not listening at all. Her eyes were focused however, though she seemed to be staring at a point somewhere off in the distance. She was going over everything he had said and was assessing the risks. There was hardly any point in protesting as the person in question had already been put on her trail. This brought a small, although brief, smirk to her lips that quickly faded back to a neutral expression. Elfana appeared contemplative. The Jynx near her, however, snapped. "I'm sorry, did you say dangerous?!" She snapped at Thade, her tone heated enough to melt any Ice Type attack she might have thought to lash out with. Kayuki looked like she wanted to ensnare Thadius with her long hair and strangle him with it. She might have tried had Elfana not raised one of her hands for silence. "Sugar-" The Jynx extended a hand towards Elfana but lowered it when Walter nudged her. "She's useful to him. That should be enough to keep her safe for a while." Kayuki had latched on to the idea that the man would be a threat to Elfana and had entirely missed the rest of what Thadius had said. "I don't trust this, darlin'." She muttered, crossing her arms but going quiet none the less. Kiro appeared equally perturbed by the aforementioned favor. Had Elfana given any sign that she was distressed, the Croagunk wouldn't have hesitated to try to attack Thadius. They could eliminate the other problem whenever it popped up later. No sign of distress ever came though. Instead Elfana let out a small chuckle which eventually morphed into a genuinely amused laugh. Of all of the things Thadius could have asked of her, a no point would she had thought she was going to be asked to befriend someone. "This is why I like you, Thade. You keep my job interesting." Attempting to socialize like a normal person had to be the single most difficult thing he had requested of her yet. Had anyone else asked it of he she would have sent them on their way without a second thought. "I suppose saying no would be pointless since you've already sent him my way." She, of course, had a comment on that. Fortunately it was playful and she didn't sound upset with him for it. "That saves time. I won't have to send Elise out to find him." Elfana grinned, her borderline warm demeanor hinting at the fact that there might actually be a real human buried somewhere deep in the doctor. For a couple of seconds Thade might have been able to pretend that Elfana had entirely missed the subtle changes in his demeanor and the fidgeting...but her eyes darkened ever so slightly. Despite what her actions had previously conveyed, she was well aware of what sort of situation she was getting into. "Had it been literally anyone else asking this of me I would refuse." She tucked a stray strand of hair back behind her ear and hummed softly. "But you are one of the only people I view as a friend. I'll do this favor for you." She gently squished one of Pantalaimon's ears against her chest, covering the other with one of her hands. "Just know that if at any point it turns into him or me, he won't be the one who walks away." Elfana viewed Thade as a close friend but she had to protect her Pokemon. Their safety took priority over all else. This stranger wouldn't be the first person who had gone missing after encountering Elfana Aroway and he certainly wouldn't be the last. "I will do my best to make sure he doesn't end up like Antarcticite's previous owner." In the end that would entirely depend on Nicolai. She would try to be receptive to him but if she had to defend her Pokemon, she would. They would always come before any potential friendship she might form with another human. She uncovered Pantalaimon's ears, letting the Turtwig babble at her for interrupting his conversation. They were planning to be superheroes! That was something very important! Her cold look faded into a small smile once more as she resumed petting the Turtwig. "What does he look like? I want to know what sort of person I'm supposed to be watching for."
"When I get big I'll be huuuuuge! I can easily pull a cart!" Pantalaimon squealed after he finished babbling at his trainer. He didn't know how big a Lapras was but he was sure a Torterra could pull a cart with one on it! Torterra were really strong after all! "This is going to be awesome!" He wiggled his feet and giggled. They were going to be the best crime fighting trio ever! Getting a Lapras shouldn't be too hard. Maybe he could ask his trainer for one! Walter was real good at talking like a human. He could ask her for them! Then they could get their Lapras friend. After that they would just need costumes...The Turtwig stared up at the trees, caught up in his little daydream. This idea was perfect.
