 "The Port of Exquisite Sunsets."
Situated near a sea inlet to the south, Vermillion serves as a popular sea port for ships in the Vermilion Harbor. Many ships from all over the world take a stop at the harbor to resupply or dock for a time to take a rest. The S.S. Anne, a luxury cruise liner, sails around the world and returns to Vermilion once a year. The S.S. Aqua sails from Olivine City in Johto to Vermilion Harbor and the Seagallop Ferries sail regularly to all of the Sevii Islands. With all of the hustle and bustle from the dock and ports, Vermillion City is a thriving metropolis, and a melting pot for outside travelers coming to the Kanto Region, where the residents here take great care in maintaining their harbor. Wanting to keep their harbor free of any polluted waters, the citizens of Vermillion City keep litter at an all time low and will not stand for having other substances dumped into their waters, making for one of the cleanest ports in the world.
{Vermillion City Gym (Click)}Lt. Surge is the official Vermillion City Gym Leader. He gives out the Thunder Badge to trainers that defeat him in battle. He is known as "The Lightning Lieutenant!" Apparently, he is or was an American soldier who fought in at least one war, during which an Electric-type Pokémon saved his life. As a member of the army, Surge was a strict CO, and was rather cautious. He was very skilled in creating hidden traps in his living quarters in case of a sneak attack. Not only was he a CO in the army, he was also trained as a pilot in the air force as well, and used Electric-type Pokémon to power his planes, a practice that in at least one occasion saved his life. Surge wasn't just a paranoid CO, and pilot, he was a hero and saved quite a few lives while he was in the war, one of the men he saved was one of the trainers that are found in his gym. After the war ended, Lt. Surge retired and soon after became Vermillion's Gym Leader. But he still holds the deep rooted fear of being attack, so he installed traps in his gym, so now it's just as dangerous as he is. He is capturing trainers, mailmen, Pokemon, and various of other citizens daily in traps that traps them in a net, drops them in a hole, yanks them up to the ceiling and many more. So not only do the trainers have to skilled in battle, they also have to be brave enough to step foot in the gym itself. When he isn't at his gym, he can be found exploring the abandoned Power Plant and calming the Electrode and Voltorb found there, as well as he can be found near the Magnet Train in Saffron, helping make repairs if needed. Lt. Surge's gym is not for the feeble, just in the Gym's entrance it's full of traps built to capture any intruder and all are left active 24/7. They expertly hidden, and the trainers within the Gym have grown use to rescuing his challengers from his own traps, and they find it amusing or down right annoying. After getting past all of the traps, and Surge or the trainers deactivated the rest of the traps for the battles, the gym opens up into a large well lit room. The room is very spacious, with tall ceilings and walls that stretch pretty far. There is even a small area for on lookers who want to watch a thrilling battle. The Battle area is raised off the ground, and is completely flat. The hard floors are built to withstand any attack, but is littered with charred remnants of past explosions. On each sides are even more raised platforms for the trainers to battle on. Both platforms were specially designed, by Lt. Surge himself, too be completely resistant to electric attacks. The idea came from him after many tiring battles where he, and his opponent, were effected by the many electric attacks he uses. Click here to read about Lt. Lucy could naturally hear everything going on in Kira's mind, and could feel the struggle of whether or not their friendship would make her chase after him. In the end, it did. Lucy wasn't the type to scare anyone, but if Apollo had spoken to her like that... well, she wasn't going to go there. They both needed to put that out of their mind. There were more important things to think about, like the next Gym Leader, and what to do after they had beaten him. "So, what's this Surge like?" Apollo continued to march his way into the city. How could anyone, dead or alive, think it would have been a good idea? Apollo was almost in shock as much as he was angry at the haunter for thinking that sneaking up and scaring a little cub after the night mare they all had endured, and barely made it out of. A nightmare he could barely wrap his mind around and understand, and he was a grown man, physically at least, while Teddy was a cub. A baby. It was just down right cruel. Apollo loved drama, he lived for it, but he mostly liked watching it, not being a part of it. He mostly liked the luxuries of life. Vacations, spas, men, tanning, men, having fans, men... But when he grew close to someone and they were wronged, or threatened, he would throw down, and his claws came out. Especially if they can't for themselves. He fought for Iradessa when he was in the band when Alec, Omelia, or Kairo would pick on her, and he would fight for Kira, just as he did for Teddy. He didn't care who it was. He called Darkrai an asshole after cutting Teddy for Arceus sake. He was not going to let anyone hurt or hard Teddy. Especially after being injured and terrified the day after they all nearly died. "It's alright Teddy, the mean ghost is gone. You never have to worry about that bad Darkrai ever again." Apollo reassured, scratching the whimpering bear's ear as he walked. "Now you remember, the scarf Iradessa made you will keep you safe from mean ghosts like him." Apollo tried to remember. Of course it was just a rather poorly knitted rainbow scarf made by their friend, but it could help keep the nightmares away, like a blankie of sorts. "Iradessa wouldn't lie, and she likes to be safe.." Teddy reasoned as his whimpers stopped and he was left sniffling. Apollo couldn't understand him of course, but he could guess it was progress so he needed to him and snuggled him closer.
Apollo continued walking, straightening the scarf around Teddy's neck as he went back to sucking the honey off his paws for comfort. He heard Kira's voice next to him, and he looked to her. Apollo glanced around for the ghost, but only found Lucy by her side. Apollo didn't blame Kira for the ghost's actions, it was clearly a plan concocted by the ghost, and she was none-the-wiser. He wasn't mad at her or Lucy, and he couldn't be. "He's a military guy." Apollo began, answering to what Lt. Surge was like. "Total beefcake, He's like this war hero or something, and apparently a Jerk, but I've never met him." Apollo finished. He wasn't sure about him specifically, he had never met the gym, only heard reports about him. He knew there was something really important to know about when you challenge him, but for the life of him he couldn't remember. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

Kira raised a single eyebrow, curiously watching Apollo. "Beefcake?" She asked, growing a bit nauseous. She had tested the sewage smell of that Poisonous hallway back in the tower, but the image of meatloaf covered in funfetti icing made her want to throw up. "Thanks for the image." She muttered, trying to think about anything else. So, he was strong, and someone to watch out for. He would likely be strict, Kira knew that people who had served in war tended to be short-tempered and prone to fits of anger and yelling. If he yelled at her, she was going to yell right back. Nobody scared her. At least not yet.
They made their way through Vermillion City, Kira following Apollo as she had no idea where she was going. At this point she was holding out on deciding whether or not he knew either. "I'm going to check with the Pokemon Center, make sure everyone's ready for a battle after..." but she didn't need to continue, Apollo knew the recent events were still fresh in her mind. She wasn't liable to forget everything that happened there, the still-painful burn on her arm would serve as a reminder for the rest of her life.

"How about no." She replied, putting a hand on Lucy's arm to stop her from pummeling this kid. "Tell me oh Master of Romance, where's your Mommy? Isn't it past your bedtime?" She knew perfectly well that this kid was probably a Trainer, and that she was likely only a few years older than him. Still, the thought made her want to cringe. "I'll tell you what... when I beat you, you run along and don't bother me again." She turned to look at Apollo and shrugged. "At least this will be a warm-up for Surge." She waited for the kid to send his Pokemon into battle, and she was momentarily stunned when the Pokemon he sent out was none other than the first evolutionary stage of Lucy - Riolu. Kira knew the type match-up wasn't perfect, but she wanted to let one of her other Pokemon have a shot. Noibat hadn't been in a battle for as far back as she could remember, possibly not at all. This was the time. In a flash of red light, Noibat was flapping her wings fast to keep herself airborne.
Riolu made the first move, moving so fast that Kira nearly missed the action. One moment it was near the Trainer, the next he had slammed his head into Noibat. The tiny bat fell to the ground, but got back up and took to the sky again. She used Psychic, causing Riolu mental anguish. The kid didn't say a word, but he recalled Riolu and sent out Machoke. Noibat looked hurt, but refused Kira's offer to go back into the Pokeball. No, she ignored the single Karate Chop attack. It was a ploy to get Machoke close, close enough to look into his eyes and wreak havoc in his mind until he was left on the ground, eyes flicking every direction, drooling.

Apollo looked to Kira as she questioned what he said, and thank him for an apparent disgusting image. Apollo chuckled and looked to her with a grin. "No, No, No, That's a good thing. It means he's really muscular." Apollo explained. "But I'd try not to mouth off to him. He did fight in a war, and was a Commanding Officer. Plus he's an electric type trainer that specializes in explosives." Apollo commented. It was basic common knowledge, at least for those that have actually been in Vermillion, that Surge traveled into the Power Plant and calmed down Electrode with ease... He was sure the reverse was possible. "Just please don't get us blown up please. I kind of like you and Lucy, and I definitely like me." Apollo joked. He didn't want Kira to start yelling at him only to get them blown up, granted he was kidding around. But he could totally see her doing that.
Suddenly there was a voice behind them calling out to them. Apollo turned around confused, and it turned out the kid was calling out to them. Or Kira more specifically. Apollo cradled Teddy like a baby, as he watched the altercation. It was kind of hilarious but amusing. Kira of course wasn't going to take the demands sitting down and entered a battle, but it was all so unbelievable it was amusing. Some kid that had to be like 10 was hitting on Kira. That was the hilarity of it all, she was like 12 and he was like 10. It was almost cute. He couldn't help but grin widely as the battle began. She used her Noibat and was able to take down his riolu and machop relatively easy. Apollo walked over to Kira and looked to the kid who was taking the loss as any kid would, and looked to Kira. "Whelp, you sure showed him." Apollo commented with a smirk. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

Next, the Gym Trainer sent out Magnemite. The hovering bit of bolts saw Noibat and it's single eye lit up! A Flying-Type, some Trainer had actually decided to use a Flying-Type Pokemon! The Electric-Type thought this would be the easiest win of it's life. Though it hit first and hit hard with a Thunder Shock attack, Noibat's Psychic attack hurt even more. Kira knew Noibat couldn't withstand another hit, but it had weakened the enemy like she'd planned. This time, another Pokemon with beating wings appeared, only this time it was a much, much, much larger Charizard. Magnemite tried, but the electricity was nothing compared to Charizard's Fire Blast.

After the battle with the kid, Kira didn't seem to really listen to what he had said about the Beefcake that was Surge. But maybe she was just getting in the zone. But before he really turned around Kira was gone and in the gym in a snap. "Oh she moved so fast! I didn't see her leave." Teddy commented but Apollo didn't understand him so he just scratched his ears and held him tight. "Well, we're headed in the same direction, so lets make our way there." He commented. Apollo began to walk towards the Gym. He got near the gym and could already hear signs of a battle from inside. He got to the door and had the handle in hand but was stopped by a sound below him. an adorable sound. "Oopa Oopa Oopa Oopa" He heard, and looked down to see a little pink wooper, speaking with every step. He just walked past Apollo without acknowledging him, and alone. Apollo glanced to Teddy who looked up to him, and heard a grunt a few feet away. The little Wooper tripped and fell forward, and had no arms to help itself up. Apollo gasped and set Teddy down to move over to help up the little guy. "Hey, are you alright little guy?" Apollo asked him, wiping the dirt off of it's smooth belly. "Oopa!" It replied happily with a nod. Apollo smiled and pat him on his head. "Are you alone in the city?" Apollo asked him and the Wooper nodded just as happily, as if that wasn't a bad thing to him. "Well, would you want to come with us? We could really use your help against Lt. Surge. " Apollo asked the little salamander. The pink Pokemon paused for a moment and looked up to the tall gym for a few silent seconds and then back to Apollo, and nodded. "Oopa!" He replied just as happy as before. "Awesome! You are just too cute!" Apollo exclaimed as a stood up, and began for the door with Teddy and Wooper walking along behind him. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

A somewhat annoying laughter reached them. "Which of you are here to be punished? The Stick-Man or the Girly-Girl?" He laughed again. Kira immediately disliked Surge, but she was too stunned to say anything. What had stunned her? Well, the fact that Surge was at least three times taller than she was! He was quite literally a monster of a man, and suddenly realized that when she said nothing could intimidate her, she was mistaken. Unable to speak, she looked at Apollo.

Once Apollo stepped into the doorway, Kira was right there to greet him. Apparently haven taken down the Gym trainer already... She did work fast. "I don't know, I was talking to you, and when I turned around you were gone." He told her with a shrug. He had been talking to her about Lt. Surge, and we was commenting on the 10 year old kid that was objectifying Kira, they are getting younger and younger... But without responding, saying anything, or really even making a slight comment to the fact that he was answering her question or commenting on the odd but funny happenstances, she was just gone in a snap, and just in the Gym. "But I did find this cute little guy." Apollo commented pointing to the pink wooper. "Oopa!" He commented, which was what Kira and Apollo would have heard, but it was probably just a 'hi' Teddy of course leaned around Apollo's legs to comment. "I'm cute, and little to." He chimed in, to which Wooper looked to him and nodded with a big smile, which Teddy seemed to approve of.
After introducing the Wooper, a deep voice was heard from behind Kira, it seemed Surge followed Kira into the lobby of the gym. Calling him 'Stick Man' and her a 'Girly girl.' Apollo looked at him funny for a second, and glanced to Kira, as she seemed to be as speechless as he was. Now, Apollo wasn't intimidated all that much, it was easy to do, but someone would have to be actively trying to, or actually attacking him to do so. And some hulking muscle military man was not something he was afraid of. Apollo smirked and chuckled a bit. "Stick Man? Don't you think a 30-odd year old man could come up with something better?" Apollo asked it was almost a genuine question. Apollo wasn't a scrawny guy, he had a great body, and he liked to use it, but... Compared to Surge, he probably was just a stick. "I could, but it wouldn't really be worth my time. Now, who's ready for the pain?" Surge questioned crossing his arms, and flexing his muscles, clearly annoyed that he was still kept waiting. Apollo held his arm over Kira's head and pointed down at her. "She is! It's the girly girl's turn." Apollo teased and pat her on the back, on the last pat he slightly pushed her forward towards the battle field. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

"Well alright then!" Surge exclaimed, grinning as though he knew a secret Kira did not. "Bring it on Little Girl!" Kira's eyes were suddenly filled with a sort of savage fire that Apollo may have noticed, the same stubborn determination that made her stare Darkrai's rotting beast in the face as it tried it's best to kill them all. It meant trouble for Surge, and Apollo too if he didn't retreat to safety. Surge, who did not know Kira and saw only a tiny redhead staring up at him, didn't seem to know what he was in store for. "Little girl, am I?" She called out. "You may be bigger than me, but I promise you're not bigger than..." She threw out a Pokeball, which split down the middle and unleashed the towering figure of Onix. "...Onix!" She shouted, her voice reaching him from around the giant which now hid her figure from view. Surge had seen other Onix in here before, even if they were only found in one spot around here. It was a rarity, but one he felt he was prepared for.
Kira had to give him credit, he recovered quickly. "I bet you only brought one Ground-Type, am I right?!" He didn't need to yell for his voice to be heard all around the stadium. "Heard I was an Electric-Type Trainer, and ran out to find the biggest Ground-Type you could. No problem-o, Squirt." His new-ish tried and tested method had not yet failed him. They always sent out their Ground-Type first, and Surge always swept them away with a single move. "Go, Electrode!"
The round bomb grinned across the field at Onix. Electrode knew what it was about to do, and was ready. Closing it's eyes, it built up all the energy in it's body while rolliing closer to Onix. It exploded, and Onix swayed back and forth for what seemed ages. Kira was preparing to return the rock-snake, but he shook off the soot and stared at Surge with one eye closed against the pain. "Yes!" She screamed. Surge was stunned now more than ever, the Pokemon had taken a Self-Destruct attack and was still standing! He'd never expected this.
It was starting to look like Surge was going to have to eat his words. He used Pikachu next, the tiny mouse was fast and agile, but it couldn't get close to Onix without danger of being crushed beneath the stone-tail. Onix was tired of playing keep away, and created an Earthquake which seemed to shake the entire building ominously. If it caved in on them... well, Kira didn't want to think about that. "Two down, one to go." She mocked him as Onix finished Pikachu with it's first ever Dragon Breath attack, taking none of Surge's shit.
Surge surprised Kira by laughing. If she had already lost two Pokemon, and the enemy still had their first, she wouldn't be laughing. Before she could say 'what's so funny', he threw out a third Pokeball. "Raichu, use Iron Tail!" Raichu stumbled on the Earthquake attack Onix had kept going from Pikachu, but quickly jumped up into the air, jumped off of Onix's face even higher into the air, and used his falling momentum to slam a glowing iron-hard tail onto the top of Onix's head. "I warned you not to underestimate us." His arrogance was back, it seemed.
Kira recalled Onix, the finally-beaten champion who had come so close to sweeping Surge's team. She was just thinking about who to use next when Noibat appeared out of her Pokeball. Kira hadn't let out out, so she must have done so herself. She was flying towards Raichu with a determined look on her face. "Lucy, stop her!" Kira shouted. The Noibat may have been able to deal with a Gym Trainer, but Surge's Raichu would shock her baby-bat to a crisp.
Raichu, every bit as merciless as Surge, whipped up an Electro Ball attack and whipped her tail around to shoot it at Noibat. Her eyes went wide, and she froze. She closed her eyes tight and prepared for the impact, but nothing happened. When she finally opened her eyes again, sure nothing had hurt her, she saw Lucy standing in between the two Pokemon, arms stretched out as she took the attack meant for Noibat. She put her paws together, concentrating and manipulating her own aura to use as a weapon. Raichu didn't know what hit it, but when the attack landed it was too late.
The smoke cleared, and Surge stared horrified at his prized Raichu. "This can't be..." He muttered. Kira looked at him, and this time he recognized the fire in her eyes for what it was.

 Leader Lt. SurgeThe lieutenant clinched his jaw as his Raichu fell. "Looks like we have a hard day of working out tomorrow." Surge cursed under his breath. It wasn't all that often that Surge was defeated, but when he was it meant for a very tough week for his Pokemon. He loved them, but that just meant he wanted them to be the best they could. "But, a loss is a loss. No matter if it's too someone as small and young as you are." Surge huffed, as he began his decent down the platform he was battling from. He walked around towards the red headed opponent. Once there he stood firm, and crossed his arms. "You got a lot of fight in you, girl. Maybe if you can get through the league, We can battle again with my full team." Surge offered with a grin. He wasn't much for losing, especially to a young girl like Kira. But she effectively commanded a Lucario, as well as an Onix. Anyone that command a team effectively was okay in his team, and she did. Almost. "But, make sure to actually train your Pokemon, not just have brute force. Any Gym Leader could have you disqualified for having two Pokemon out on the field at once." He added, and walked closer to Kira, towering over her, and held out his large hand with the rewards. "But I can't say you didn't put up a good fight, and don't deserve these." he told her giving her a genuine grin.Kira has received:

Apollo watched the battle as Kira began back into it with Surge. He traveled off towards the side where stands usually were in Gyms, and watched the battle take place with Teddy and his new Wooper standing below him. It was a exciting battle from the start with an explosion, making Apollo flinch and Teddy jump back behind Apollo. Onix took the blast with a bit of a sway but it soon shook it off. The battle continued against a Pikachu. This was good for Apollo, he wasn't as aggressive as Kira was, or as battle read, so any information was good to know. Apollo wasn't sure what he was going to use to battle Surge, he didn't want to trouble his Pokemon after what they went through. He especially didn't want to blow them up. But Kira was able to take care of his Pokemon fairly alright, with only one Pokemon down. Like that, she won. Apollo grinned as Teddy cheered for her, and wooper joined in for the fun of it. "You did great, Kira!" Apollo called out as he walked up to her. Surge gave her her rewards and Apollo beamed at Surge. "Our turn!" Apollo shouted. Surge looked over to Apollo, almost ready to laugh as if it were a joke. He hesitated. "OH, you're serious?" He asked looking him over for a sign of laughter. "Yes!" Apollo shouted angrily. Surge chucked and nodded as he began back to get the gym trainer. The brunet huffed as he turned around to move for the plat form. "I'm tough. I can take him. We can take care of ourselves. " He spoke as he started walking, only... it had seemed that Kira unknowingly avoided all of the traps Surge planted in his gym, so Dwayne forgot to deactivate them. Apollo made it half way to the platform when he stepped on a pressure plate. A part of the far wall swung open and a massive net shot out of it and rocketed towards Apollo. The net was able to catch Apollo, Teddy, and Wooper, take them with it, and trap them up against the wall. "Oh my god! What the hell!" Apollo screamed as he struggled. "I won't be caged!" Teddy proclaimed as he began to naw at the rope, trying to bite his way through. Mean while the wooper wiggled and seemed to be just as happy as before. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

Kira accepted the Badge from Surge and pinned it to her bag, it was more than proof to one day get through a door. No, this meant that she had come this far. It told - if not others - then herself that she was really going through with this, and Arceus help anyone who got in her way. She wanted to go out and battle, train, strengthen her team, but there was no way she was going to miss Apollo's battle against this Mamoswine of a Man.
'What did he know about her, what gave him the right to judge the way she trains her Pokemon.' Thought a voice in her head.
'He's a Gym Leader.' Said another.
'Yeah, a Gym Leader who just got his butt kicked by me.' Returned the first.
She called out Trapinch, who to her knowledge had very powerful jaws. She held him up to the net which held Apollo, Wooper, and Teddy, letting him clamp down and break the net. She helped the Pokemon down, knowing Apollo wouldn't have any trouble being as athletic as he was.
Gym Leader or not, she knew she'd never get along with someone as arrogant as Surge. She was going to watch Apollo battle him, and win, and then they were going to continue on their path of adventure. Taking great care to avoid any possible traps she'd miraculously avoided upon entering this place, she replaced Apollo at his seat in the stands, sitting beside Lucy and watching curiously. -Backpack-

Apollo continued to struggle against the rope net that held him, Teddy, and Wooper. Apollo tried pulling at the ropes, maybe yank at least a bit of it free. "This is sick and twisted and I am Not into it!" Apollo argued. Wooper seemed content in his new situation and quit trying to wiggle free and just sat the with a smile on his face as his little legs kicked back and forth below him. Teddy continued to growl and gnaw at the rope like any bear cub would in a trap. His teeth almost began to cut into the ropes. "A little help Kira?" Apollo asked her, she seemed unphased that he was just trapped out of nowhere, and began over to help him without the fear of setting off another trap. "This is what I have forgotten. Surge has his gym trapped." Apollo cursed himself. She let out Trapinch and used him to bite them free, which Apollo thought was genius. Apollo climbed down as Kira helped Wooper and Teddy. Wooper smiled and leaned into Kira, doing what it could to hug her without any arms. "Oopa!" He thanked her happily. Though once Teddy's paws touched the floor he took off running. "Freedom! It feels so good!" He cried as he ran across the room. Kira left them without a word, now more careful then before. Kira always was that, brave and caring of him and her Pokemon. He knew she was so brave and caring that she'd risk setting off another then letting her friends suffer. Apollo found that comforting. Apollo's attention turned back to the running cub and gasped, going to grab him so he didn't trigger another, but there was a 'click' "Crap!" Dwayne cursed as he had disarmed the traps. "I forgot about those! I'm sorry!" He apologized. Apollo looked to the Gym Trainer with a look that was less then pleased. "How could you forget that!?" Apollo replied. Dwayne gave a shrug and an embarrassed smile. "I guess we just get use to them, you know?" He spoke. Apollo sighed and began to climb the platforms. "Lets just get with the battle." Apollo told him.
Teddy ran over to join Kira, and sat with her. He didn't know if he was going to battle or not, but right now he just wanted to watch. No 'slpoding for him. Apollo returned Wooper form the side lines, thinking of using him. But he let out Clefairy as Dwayne let out Voltorb. They readied for a battle, but Apollo was not going to take any chances. "Clefairy, used Psychic, keep that bomb away from you." Apollo ordered. He wasn't going to risk an explosion. Clefairy smiled and waved her arms in the air, pointing her fingers, The voltorb lifted up in the air and began to float away from Clefairy. The Voltrob reacted and sent a beam of energy at Clefairy, knocking her backwards. "You'll pay for that one." Clefairy cursed as she waved her fingers against and launched the bomb into the back wall. The fairy smiled proudly as the bomb was returned. Apollo hadn't seen the battle with Kira and him, so he didn't realize it was going to be a steel type... Apollo quickly recalled Clefairy, and decided to see what lil Wooper could do. They were dual ground types after all. Wooper came out and looked around smiling. This time Dwayne didn't hesitate. "Magnet Bomb it" he called out and it sent a ball of energy at Wooper which exploded on impact. Wooper was knocked backwards, but he rolled over and got back to his feet. "Okay, Wooper hit him back!" Apollo called out, unsure of what to call out for. Wooper let out a cry and harnessed a bit of it's stored mud and shot it across the field, knocking the magnet out of the air. -Love, Dad. Kira upended the envelope, and a small stone slid into her palm. Lucy had been watching the match, but looked over at the sudden waves of confusion rolling off her Trainer's mind. Kira looked over at the hound and considered it. She didn't know what this stone was, or what it would do, but this wasn't her time to shine. It was Apollo's, and so she forced her attention back to the battle at hand just in time to see the cute little pink Whooper secure the battle.
"Nice shot!" She called out encouragingly, against her usual quiet demeanor. She slid the stone into her bag and pulled Teddy into her lap and pet his fuzzy head. -Backpack-

Apollo watched as Dwayne returned his Magnemite, and congratulated Apollo and began down the platform and back out of the gym to fetch Lt. Surge. Wooper hopped around the battle field cheering along side Kira, proud of his victory. Teddy how ever, settled into Kira's lap as she picked him up and held him in her lap. He leaned back into her pets. "Do you want some honey?" Teddy asked her, however he made no motion to actually give Kira or Lucy any of his honey.
Apollo returned Wooper, and began to heal up Clefairy and Wooper as the Lieutenant walked over to the platform. "So, you're serious about this?" Surge questioned, having only seen a fairy, a cub, and a little pink wooper from him. Apollo nodded. "Yes. I'm getting revenge for trapping me, and I'm ready to have that badge. " Apollo commented confidentially. Surge chuckled and let out his freshly healed Electrode. Apollo let out Clefairy, and she looked around, and her eyes fell on the round opponent. Her eyes narrowed at him as she put her hands on her hips. "That same strategy won't work, kid." The Lieutenant warned Apollo just shrugged and smiled. Lt. Surge raised his eye brows. "Okay, suit yourself. Electrode Electro Ball!" He called out and his bomb charged up and fired a ball of energy at the fairy. Clefairy took the hit and was knocked backwards. Clefairy already knew what to do and used psychic to knock it back. She tossed the bomb as far as she could, but it came barreling back and fired another bolt of energy, knocking Clefairy backwards and off her feet. "Get up close to her Electrode. You know what to do" Surge called out. Apollo watched it get close and realized all too late. "Clefairy ru-" Apollo began to shout, but the blast cut him off. The explosion almost knocked him off his feet, and sent the fairy into the air. Apollo quickly returned her so she didn't have to hit anything on her way down.
Apollo pulled out another pokeball and glared at Surge. "Okay, jerk, if you're just going to blow everyone up." Apollo complained as he let out Wooper. Surge just chuckled as he let out his own Pokemon. "Lets just get this over with kid. Paralyze the wooper." Surge commented. He knew the Pokemon was a ground type, but he could only hope to paralyze it. Pikachu ran across the field and began to nuzzle on Wooper, letting loose sparks as he did. Wooper smiled and began to nuzzle him back, as if hugging him back. "That is so cute" Apollo couldn't help but exclaim. "But, they're the enemy so shoot the crap out of him!" Apollo quickly called out. Wooper straightened. suddenly realizing he was in a battle, and jumped back and began to shoot mud balls at the other Pokemon. "Pikachu, we aren't cute. You get out there and double team him" Surge called out and suddenly the Pikachu began to run around wooper at an amazing fast speed. "Umm, How about not, I don't have that on my schedule any time soon, so Wooper shoot mud everywhere. You'll hit him eventually." Apollo called out. Wooper began to launch mud all around. After successfully hitting the Pikachu twice, Surge returned him.
Surge grit his teeth together. He let out his Raichu and didn't stop for chit chat. "Raichu, used covet, and take anything he might be holding." He called out. The raichu raced across the field, and began to quickly search the Pokemon. Once he found nothing, Raichu whirled around and slammed his tail into Wooper, sending him flying. Wooper rolled a few ways but hot back up and shot a few more shots at him. The raichu reacted quickly racing forward and iron tailed the Pokemon, sending wooper flying and into the platform. Apollo returned him, and thought for a moment. He was not going to battle it with Teddy, and Squirtle would be a huge mistake... So he decided to use a Pokemon he hadn't yet. He let out Omanyte. Surge almost seemed annoyed at this point. "Same plan Raichu. We'll knock them down one at a time if we have to." Surge called out. Omanyte turned to look at the large mouse as it charged him. "Keep it away the best you can" Apollo called out. Raichu began to search Omanyte, but to avoid it's tail it unleashed a blizzard. The blizzard froze Raichu solid. Apollo let out a laugh, and a cheer, as Omanyte ceased his icy winds, only for Raichu to break free. Omanyte only had time to retract into his shell to be sent flying with an iron tail. Apollo returned him with a sigh. He let out Pikachu. "It's going to be tough, but hang in there Pikachu." Apollo told him. Pikachu nervously looked the Raichu over, and nervously fiddled with his paws. "Let's just end it Raichu." He called out. The other electric type ran forward, and slammed his tail into Pikachu. It knocked the pokemon tumbling backwards. "Pikachu, you've made it this far, you can take on this fat rat. Use frustration!" he called out. Pikachu got up, and took a breath before charging the other Pokemon. After ramming into him and fighting him for a few moments, Surge could only return Raichu before it took anymore of a beating.
He began down his platform silently, so Apollo followed in suit, but only with a large grin. Teddy began to cheer, and hop in Kira's lap and waving one of his paws in the air. Apollo met Surge in the middle, and was given the rewards. "Now, your friend up there, she's young but she's got some fire. Going forward, I think she'll do fine, but if you don't do some serious training, Erika will eat you alive, boy." Surge advised. Apollo looked the beefcake over with an eyebrow raised. "I'll see what I do in the future. I handled you just fine." He shrugged, as he turned back and began towards Kira. Surge chuckled as he turned back and walked back shaking his head. Kira has received:+49 exp split amongst Clefairy, Wooper, Omanyte, and Pikachu Thunder Badge TM 57 Charge Beam Pokemon lv. 30 or lower will obey Apollo. The little bit of the battle that Kira had managed to watch was very entertaning. She wasn't used to watching Gym Battles from the sidelines, and wasn't sure just yet whether she liked it much. Apollo turned away as Surge made his exit, He wasn't able to make his way towards Kira before he felt Teddy run up and hug his legs proudly. Apollo reached down and picked up Teddy and hugged him as Kira ran up to him and praised him on his win. It was clear Apollo had a harder time defeating Surge then Kira did, leaving him with three Pokemon left, but Apollo didn't care. He won, who cares if he struggled a little bit. "Of course I did! I'm the Bomb.com!" Apollo replied confidentially with a wide grin. "See what I did there?" Apollo teased with a chuckle. They began out of the Gym as Kira was ready to head out of Vermillion. Apollo did love the city, but he never was against constant movement, and Kira never sat still. He was pretty use to living life on the rode from his years on tour, though those years were much more luxurious... ""Sure thing, I just thing we should stop by the Pokecenter first."" Apollo commented as they began out into the city. Half of his team was already down, so he did need a bit of help. Kira then brought up Erika. "She's the next Gym Leader, and lucky for us she's in the next town over." Apollo began. Apollo only knew as much about the league as the average person, so he didn't know too much about her, aside from what's in the news or interviews, or if he's met them. He knew a bit about her gym in particular, seeing the news report about it burning down. "She supposedly really sweet, teaches gardening classes, and totally gorgeous. But apparently she's pretty hard to beat." Apollo shrugged as he walked. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

Kira was an active person, never one to sit around and twiddle her thumbs when there was still so much to do! She only had a few Gym Badges, and she knew she wanted to collect all of them. Aside from that, how could she just sit there when places like that evil Tower exist? She looked around to Apollo and smiled. "She seems nice, but really pretty? I didn't think that was your type." Her grin was teasing, as it would have been with a Brother. She continued walking towards the Pokemon Center. He was right, they both needed to have their Pokemon healed after their battles with Surge.
He was a very large man who looked as though he could have just punched your Charizard in the face and won the battle that way, but she had put him in his place. "Hey, Apollo?" She spoke up as they both stood in the waiting room. Which one should she bring up first? Between the two questions she wanted to ask, she decided on the one least likely to make him storm away from her in a rage. "Do you have a spare camera? I want to start photographing things." She looked up at him and smiled.

Apollo followed Kira as they began into the city towards the Pokecenter, so that they could drop off their Pokemon. Lord knows his Pokemon needed it, after almost being taken out entirely, but He made it, and that's all he could ask for. He handed over all his Pokemon, and moved over to the waiting area with Kira, as she commented on his preferences not being towards those like Erika. Apollo couldn't help but laugh at her comment. "Well, she is gorgeous, I can't deny that. But she's waaaay to Vegan. I like my partners to have a bit more beef." he replied with another cackle. Erika is probably the exact opposite of what he'd want to date. She's anti-man, she's all thing's vegan, and she's just a pretty face to him. Granted he'd be her friend, but that is the opposite of what he wants. In all honest, Surge was much more his time then anything, had he not trapped in in a net.
As he continued to snicker at himself, always finding himself funny, Kira tired to get his attention. "Hmm?" He asked, looking back to her. He moved over to one of the seats as she asked him a question that he wasn't exactly expecting. She asked him for one of his cameras. He hummed again as he thought, opening his pack to look through it. "Well, I can't give you one of the ones that Carrie issued me, she would have be skinned alive, Buuuuuuuuut" He explained as he began to dig into the pack. He never was able to keep it very organized, not with Teddy always going through it to steal some candy or a few licks form the honey jar. But aside form that, Apollo was never one to be organize anyways. After a few moments of shifting and looking he pulled out a silver digital camera. "Here's my old camera. It's not one of the big fancy schmancy camera, but it has a great zoom feature, and it's picture quality is pretty surprising." He explained. It was one of his first cameras going into the reporting industry, and it was expensive at the time, but how he didn't really have the need for it now that he had Carrie's equipment. "And it's sturdy. It's survived years of wear and tear." He finished and then popped open a flap on the back, and pulled a chip out of it and switched in another. "And there, you can have your own memory stick to." he added with a smile, and held it out to her. Apollo was sure that would be a good hobby for her. Maybe not the nature stills, or capturing sunsets, but more so capturing the action packed battles, or Pokemon in motion. That was something he figured she would be good at. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

She looked from Lucy, to Apollo, and back again. "You... you just evolved..." Her tone exposed her shock. "Apollo?" She hoped he would hold the answers. Something distracted Kira from Apollo's response, a strange mechanical noise that grew louder and louder. The group ran out as a whole, Kira and Lucy in the lead. "What's going on?" Kira asked, as vocal and outgoing as ever when the helicopter blades slowed, then stopped. The pilot explained that he'd been carrying Trainers back and forth from a place called the Leafstone Nature Reserve. Kira listened carefully, then turned to look at her travelling companion with excitement on her face. "Ooh, Apollo, we should go!" She spoke excitedly, but just loudly enough for only him to hear. "We could catch anything there."

Apollo smiled to Kira as she accepted his camera, and graciously thanking him. Before he could respond with out to work it, though it was pretty self explanatory how to zoom and turn on the flash, something clanged against the tiled floor. He looked down to it as it rolled closer to Lucy, as she picked it up to inspect it. She suddenly began to shine brightly. Apollo shielded his eyes the best he could until it ended, revealing a bigger and tougher looking Lucy. "Uhhhhh" escaped his mouth as it fell open. He had heard of Mega stones before, they had been huge when they were discovered, people really freaked, but they were hard to come by, so he had never actually seen one. Kira exclaimed about her evolving, but he knew that wasn't really possible. He walked over to Lucy and looked her over. "Ummmmmmmmm" he let out in a high pitched voice, as he thought, picking up one of Lucy's long dreadlocks in inspection. Then picking up her hand without asking and began to look it over. "Oh my, she just mega evolved!" Nurse Joy exclaimed happily, clearly proud for the Pokemon. Apollo looked to her and then back to Lucy. "No way, Shut up!" he exclaimed with a wide smile. But before her shining moment went on for too long, the sound of a helicopter could be heard outside, loud and clear.
Apollo turned back and moved with the crowd to see. Kira marched right up to the Helicopter once they were outside, ignoring the gale force winds that was buffering them. Leave it to Kira to march up to a helicopter and demand answers from the pilot. Apollo was glad the man was friendly, as he explained the whole reason he was there. It all did seem a bit fishy to him after experiencing the tower of nightmares. He crossed his arms and pursed his lips, but before he could protest, trainers began to disembark the helicopter, as well as he turned to see a commercial on the TV in the Pokecenter running for it. So it was the real deal, that was good. Kira turned to him and offered to go. Apollo tried to smile and wanted to say yes, but he couldn't bring himself to say so. "I don't think I'm up for anymore adventure any time soon..." Apollo confessed, still feeling all his aching joints and scabbing cuts. But she was to excited... He could stand in her way of doing something she wanted... It would have been like Apollo stopping Iradessa from going to an amusement park, or Jinx from going to a rave. "But why don't you go without me. I need the rest anyways." he told her with a shrug, trying to make it easy. "You can call me if you need anything and when you get back." he told her, with a nod, telling her he wanted to travel with her when she got back, which he did. "Plus, it would be a good time to test out your new camera." he purposed with a smile. Wearing: Not cute, but comfy.

Kira was hesitant to part from Apollo, but she had a soul that couldn't be tied down or tamed. She'd never forgive herself if she sat there and watched the opportunity pass her by. She said her goodbye to Apollo, with a promise that she would come back here to meet up with him after this was over. Unlike herself, she even gave him a hug before climbing into the Helicopter along with a few others who were ready to meet that flighty temptress; Adventure. As the City came into view, he was reminded of the time he had visited with Kira. It wasn't his first time in the bright city with Kira but it was the freshest memory of the city. Going in to battle the beefcake that was Lt. Surge. He was a bit of a jerk, but he was nice to look at. His wooper came in pretty handing against him. Apollo looked back at the little guy bopping in his seat as they went along. Before that he had performed there when he was working with the band. He couldn't remember anything specific about the concert so he was pretty sure he didn't have his own song this one, just was a featured singer and dancer. He wasn't usually a main singer; he wasn't as good as Lady Lola, Vamira, or even Alec, but he could dance any of them under the table. Apollo had realized that Lady Lola had brought everyone into the band for a specific reason. He was brought on as a good dancer, of course he was a good dancer as well as the self-proclaimed face of the band. While Vamira was the vocal power, Lucian was the management, Iradessa was energy, and Victoria was the fashion. Of course, everyone else brought a flavor to the band but these were the most that had actually assisted in the work of it all. There were days that Apollo missed it, and days he really didn't. He loved traveling and performing, but it was a lot of work. creating and learning and teaching new choreography learning new songs and then performing them. It was a lot more work than it looked. Especially having to teach the likes of Alec, Kairo and Omelia... That being said it was a good time. He definitely made sure to keep in touch with his besties, Iradessa, Victoria, Vamira, and Jinx. That reminded him that he probably should text them... But enough of his trip down memory lane. He hopped off of the bus once it stopped and ran into the Pokecenter, and then back.
