Hanako Lucali Hana considered a princess costume for all of five seconds before shaking her head. She was as far from a princess as a squishy little Wailmer could get. The idea of a mummy costume was shot down immediately- though it was not because of the bandages. She really didn't like zombies and to her mummies were just another form of zombie. Halloween costumes could be scary but she didn't want to dress up as anything as scary as a zombie! She looked over several costumes, dismissing most of them as too scary or something that would look strange on her. Hanako was about to give up entirely and search for a Wailmer costume when she noticed the knight and prince. They were supposed to be reverse roles. She was sure she would be a terrible knight but...The young woman found herself staring at Kintaro, a timid blush appearing on her face. He would make a good prince. He could be her "King Taro"! She would keep that joke to herself of course. She was sure he would reject the idea even faster if she mentioned it. Asking him to dress up as her prince was proving to be difficult. She found herself wandering the shop while she attempted to get her thoughts together, trying to make it look like she was still looking for something to wear. Having a backup plan would be a good idea in case he decided he didn't feel like going along with her silliness. All of her searching only made her want to dress up as a cute knight more when she discovered an eye patch she was sure would make the costume perfectly. She really had to ask him now. Hanako hugged the eye patch close to herself when she finally approached Kintaro, tugging on his sleeve to get his attention. "T-Taro? W-would you..." She frowned, struggling to remember what she wanted to say. Her earlier blush had returned as the shy girl stumbled over her request. "W-would you be my p-prince?" Hana squeaked nervously and hid her face in her hands. That was not how she wanted to phrase it! "Th-there's a really cute set of costumes and I think you would be a very handsome prince a-and I could be your knight!" Hanako decided to stop talking then, leaving her face hidden. Her attempt to explain the request was only making things worse.rooker Trainer Encounter: 40/25 Wild Encounter: 73/5 Item Posting: Light Ball 15/40 Inventory: Shell Bell - Zinnia, Potions x, Pokeballs x, Pokedex, Rare Candy x4, Sweet Bouquet, Water Gem, x3 Max potions, x1 Travel egg, x1 Freedom Flag - Item to be held by a Fire, Ice, or Water type Pokemon, it will then receive x3 exp per post for seven days of active posting, x2 Lum Berries, x2 Oran Berry, Berry Pot, TM 83 Infestation, TM 55 Scald, Specific Lure, Psychium Z - Ember, Vs. Llorona BraithwaiteSeconds on that lonely bench turned to minutes, and soon those minutes became what felt like hours of thought. Llorona remained sitting on the bench outside the pokemon center with her face buried in her palms. She wasn't overly emotional but some part of the woman was clearly distraught about the loss of her Rowlet. She had tried to remain resourceful in her search but inevitably the longer the Litten beside he continued to try and rub against her reassuringly, the more hopeless Llorona felt. She had zero ideas on how to even go about trying to find the little owl now! "I don't know what to do Rhea... There has to be Something I didn't think of. Somewhere he would go right?" The woman asked, peeking through her fingers at a litten who only meowed back at her in a mixture of false positivity and every bit of panic that the woman herself felt. After groaning, Llorona finally turned her attention to the device bringing her costume to life and switching it off. Her favorite purchase so far only served to irritate the woman beyond measure right now. After she forced herself to stand Llorona set her new bag down beside the litten and gave the feline a small slice of the kindness Rhea had tried to show in her time of need, her fingers working along the fuzzy ears of the fire starter a few moments. She had to find her Rowlet but panicking would do them little good. What she needed was a solid plan. "Stay here, I am gonna go inside and ask if anyone has seen the little feather bird around okay?" When Rhea meowed in what she assumed was agreement, Llorona let herself into the pokemon center without a second thought for her bag.. or the litten. After several short conversations pertaining to whether or not traveling trainers had seen her missing pokemon - and several NOT so short ones where the woman found herself explaining to local trainers what a Rowlet even was, the woman came to the conclusion that she had next to nothing to gain from anyone within the center. The trip, while fruitless where deadeye was concerned, had not been a complete waste of time, however. The black and blue haired woman had since left her pokemon to recover with the nurse, only to find that some of them had not taken so well to the sudden change in the region - an ignorance on her part that Llorona was scolded for. Apparently, she should have known better than to keep them cooped up after such a long journey since it was entirely possible that the sudden climate change could mess with some of her partners. "T-they aren't dead are they?!" She cringed at the morbid thought of carrying around dead pokemon until the nurse shook her head slowly and began to explain that a few of her pokemon were simply under the weather. Normally this would have come as a relief but given the circumstances? Llorona only felt worse about herself as a trainer. Her pokemon were getting sick, they were running away! Cyren was going to be so mad at her for sure! By the end of her interaction with the nurse, Llorona had gone from seven poke'balls along her belt to five. the woman swallowed the lump in her throat knowing that realistically she had three pokemon to protect her at this time given that the ball for Rowlet was empty and she would never release her father's pokemon. "Not even to save my life." The woman muttered miserably. She had little time to dwell on her own ego, though, clipping the Hitmonchan to her waistband just in time to snap her attention up and run for the door. That meow had not sounded pleasant. The day had already been bad. First Her best friend hadn't even wanted to talk with her. Then he had run away and made both the feline and his trainer very sad! They were worried sick! Granted, Rhea had to admit that she had never seen Deadeye's trainer actually look worried for him until now. It was a strange sight, but that didn't mean she deserved to be sad....mostly. The little Litten had tried her best to comfort Llorona until the human went into the pokemon center - leaving the fire type to awkwardly sit next to her bag and continue to look around. Maybe she would get very lucky and spot her fluffy friend! Her tail swayed absently while she peered around through her keen eyes, watching the humans stroll along the road and occasionally casting her eyes up to the sky. She had no idea how high a Rowlet could really fly... Maybe he was in the clouds where they could not see him? During this pondering, the little Litten became so distracted that she nearly missed the terrible thing that was happening behind her. In fact, had she not had a sudden itch she felt the need to lick away from her paw - Rhea would never have even turned to see the quiet hands reaching for Llorona's brand new and very pretty bag. "Hm? Hey! That isn't yours!" She 'roared' in about as intimidating a tone as a litten could really manage. Normally the little pokemon would never have jumped to a violent conclusion, but the moment the startled figure jumped and closed his grip around the handbag she knew he was trouble. "That isn't yours! Give back her bag!" She hissed, leaping from the bench the instant the human tried to run from her. He was fast for a human! But even still Rhea managed to try and scratch at him while he ran several times - her chase ending not because he had outrun her but because the little litten stopped to mope when one of her clawed attacked sliced right through the bottom of Llorona's bag along with the belt of the assailant. Llorona was gonna be so mad at her for ruining the fancy new bag! "Oh...No, no... She is already sad enough!" Rhea mewled from the ground, trying her best to nose and paw the belongings that had fallen from Llorona's purse into a small pile. It was the least she could do - to make sure that the woman got at least some of her things back! Kintaro Satoshi Hanako's declaration took entirely too long. He should have told her simply to stop from the beginning. His expression grew dour as she brought up the very costumes he had skimmed over. He squinted at the outfits, then glowered at the sign. He was not wearing a dress. That was not terribly period appropriate even. He opened his mouth to shoot down her proposal without a second though...and then he had a second thought. She did not ask for much. She would be depending on him for support here. She likely had the resources to take care of herself just fine but not the skills to wield them. Everything illustrated a bubbly young woman with a heart full of eagerness and somewhere between minimal and entirely nonexistent confidence. She had just asked him--in the most embarrassing and awkward way possible--to do a paired costume with her. the bravery she had to muster must be playing havoc on her thoughts right now. A million reasons to absolutely never consider this, a million more excuses on how to reject her without completely shattering that mote of courage so she could use it in the future. Kintaro was certain the room had somehow grown brighter and he was going to have words with the electricians. He took a deep breath, let out a long and heavy sigh that he couldn't hold in any longer. He placed his hand on Hanako's shoulder, lips drawn thin making his expression appear entirely too grim for the answer she was given. Until he spoke, how could she respect anything else? "...Yes." He said, finally. "Yes. I will participate in this costume of yours." He stated more loudly, as if announcing to the other shoppers he was making the worst mistake of his life.Pack: Pokeball x, Potion x, Pokedex, Shell Bell (Attica), Burn Heal, Paralyze Heal, Awakening, Freeze Heal, 2x Ultra Ball, Lumiose Galette, Lava Cookie, Old Gateau, Castellia Cone, Big Malasada, Shalour Sable, Sweet Bouquet, 2x Lucky Charm, Nevermeltice, Snowball, 2x Lucky Egg, 1x Questionable Drink, 4x Big Mushrooms, TM 47 Low Sweep, X5 Jaboca Berries (+4 Bitter, +1 Sour), X1 Fist Plate, x3 Full Restore, Fightinium Z, Cermit's Chikan (+50 Max HP, make EXP count 50. Hanako Lucali Hanako kept her face hidden in her hands, bracing herself for the rejection she assumed would be coming. He had no reason to go along with her silly idea. Maybe costumes were a bad idea. She wanted to apologize for asking for something so ridiculous and take back her request. They could do something else to celebrate the holiday. She couldn't convince her voice to cooperate with her. When she felt his hand on her shoulder she squeaked weakly, expecting the rejection to follow soon after...but it didn't. Kintaro had agreed to go along with her idea. She kept her head down, quickly wiping away the tears that had formed as a result of her nervousness and letting go of the breath she didn't realize she had been holding in. His expression made her wince and for a moment she considered curling up in the nearest corner and pretending to be invisible for a while. As much as Hanako wanted to beat herself up over her request, she found that the more she looked at him, the more excited she became. Kintaro was going to be her prince and she got to be his knight! She still couldn't find her voice but she didn't feel like she needed to. Hana threw her arms around Kintaro, an adorably bright smile appearing on her face. His decision to nurture that tiny mote of courage that had allowed her to ask him to be her prince was rewarded with affection- which seemed to be the only way she knew how to reward things. "Th-thank you!" Speaking took way more effort than she would have liked. She followed it up by kissing his chest since she didn't think she could maintain her balance long enough to stand on the tips of her toes. She was too excited. Hanako hugged Kintaro again, motioning towards the costumes. "U-um...Since this is my idea I'm going to pay for them. I-is there anything else you think you'll need for your costume? We can try to find anything you think would be necessary to make it more comfortable."rooker Trainer Encounter: 41/25 Wild Encounter: 74/5 Item Posting: Light Ball 16/40 Inventory: Shell Bell - Zinnia, Potions x, Pokeballs x, Pokedex, Rare Candy x4, Sweet Bouquet, Water Gem, x3 Max potions, x1 Travel egg, x1 Freedom Flag - Item to be held by a Fire, Ice, or Water type Pokemon, it will then receive x3 exp per post for seven days of active posting, x2 Lum Berries, x2 Oran Berry, Berry Pot, TM 83 Infestation, TM 55 Scald, Specific Lure, Psychium Z - Ember, Vs. Kintaro Satoshi Kintaro could only frown thoughtfully at her inquiry. Hanako was quite enthusiastic for their costumes. He should put some more consideration into how to complete his royal robe. He knew what would suit such a costume, but he really did not feel a need to add to it. especially if Ms. Lucali was going to be paying for it! Accessories were simply unnecessary. He noticed a small diadem behind the princely robe. The cheap materials were well-dressed to appear as though they were made of golden with streaks of silver with a large "emerald" stamped in the center of it by a plastic and paste design Kintaro had become mildly familiar with. The attention to detail was impressive. His gaze lingered on it a moment too long. If Hana was trying to wheedle an answer out of him, she would have an unspoken wish she could snatch out of the bin! "No. I think not. This will be more than sufficient." He answered honestly. Mostly. Kind of. He wasn't lying about the costume being just fine on its own! He gave a nod as he moved to gain the attention of the shopkeepers and get the costumes fitted. If Hanako was not willing to accept leaving the convincing accessory alone, she could easily snag and buy it while Kintaro was distracted making arrangements and getting fitted for his costume. He would also make a point to wait outside for Hana to get her costume fitted unless she found a way to make him join her while she was partially dressed.Pack: Pokeball x, Potion x, Pokedex, Shell Bell (Attica), Burn Heal, Paralyze Heal, Awakening, Freeze Heal, 2x Ultra Ball, Lumiose Galette, Lava Cookie, Old Gateau, Castellia Cone, Big Malasada, Shalour Sable, Sweet Bouquet, 2x Lucky Charm, Nevermeltice, Snowball, 2x Lucky Egg, 1x Questionable Drink, 4x Big Mushrooms, TM 47 Low Sweep, X5 Jaboca Berries (+4 Bitter, +1 Sour), X1 Fist Plate, x3 Full Restore, Fightinium Z, Cermit's Chikan (+50 Max HP, make EXP count 50. Llorona BraithwaiteLlorona's first thought when she exited the Pokemon center to find both her belongings and the feline missing was a selfish one.First her Rowlet had abandoned her, then her pokemon were becoming sick - and NOW to top it all off, she had just been robbed! The urge to cry was not something that she felt all that often, and she hated girls that cried for stupid reasons... But this felt like as good a time as any for her to start balling her eyes out. "No, no! What the hell?!" She snapped, her flailing nearly catching another patron of the center directly in the face. She could already feel her eyes getting blurry in spite of her typical composure. This was going horribly! Pressing her palms to her face, the girl groaned in irritation over just about everything that came to mind. Her situation, her luck, how pathetic she was about to look once she started crying in a strange place surrounded by complete foreigners. Just as she felt the first of many very self loathing tears drop into her open hands, Llorona swore she heard rhea meow aloud. It didn't stop her from crying, but the hysteria itself could wait if there was any chance that she could get the Litten back! "I'm coming!" She called frantically, wiping her face dry and following the continued, panicked meowing until she finally saw the poor thing standing on the sidewalk and laying on top of several of her personal affects. She could see a piece of what looked like her bag in Rhea's mouth, one that the little fire Pokemon set down on the pavement and nosed towards her before meowing sadly. Whatever had happened was surely not Rhea's fault and the poor thing looked absolutely devastated over it. Heaving a sigh and sniffling reluctantly, Llorona crouched in front of the Pokemon and forced as much of a smile as she could manage, looking at the trail behind her and piecing what seemed like the most probable situation together as she reached out to scratch Rhea behind the ears. "It's okay. I am glad they didn't take you too... And I hope whoever it is got a nice little scar to remember not to steal from us." Rhea nodded and mewled, stretching its form out and revealing the tiny claws she had used to pursue the robber. Once Llorona had moved Rhea and begun to collect her things, two very distinct things became apparent to her. One was that she had lost her wallet completely, and although her identification was in her pocket - she was going to have to spend the rest of her trip completely broke! The other observation was a little different. " Huh...Looks like we got something out of this guy after all." She mused, holding the Pokeball Rhea had been laying on and turning it over in her hand a few times curiously. It certainly was not one of her own and it definitely wasn't empty. With any luck, whoever had taken her bag would find themselves short a partner and come back. If they did - she would have someone to maim for the loss of her things! Once she had secured what little had fallen from the bag into her backpack and pockets, Llorona placed the ball onto her belt and scooped Rhea up, rubbing her cheek against the creature's soft fur and sighing with about as much relief as she could really manage given how the day had gone. Sure she was broke again, but at least Cyren wouldn't kill her for losing Rhea! Deadeye followed the duo down the street but kept his distance at first, completely unsure how to approach the humans without seeming as strange to them as he did to Llorona. By the time the Rowlet figured he could attempt to sway them with his cute hat as an offering - they both seemed to disappear from sight, causing the owl to flutter down onto the street and continue to watch them from outside the glass. They were certainly a strange pair, the female with the strange colored hair and her plain looking companion. The way the human female looked by the end of whatever exchange they were having - Deadeye wanted nothing more than to jump onto her shoulder and nuzzle her! She looked like a mixture of excitement and fear at the same time. Unfortunately the thick glass separating her from him made this very difficult. The first time he saw the door sway open and a human walked out, Deadeye attempted to slip inside but nearly found himself squished by the door and flapped backwards before he squawked at the human entryway. It was trying to kill him! Eventually the weary owl decided his best course of action was to wait as close as he could to the opening and wait for another human to either enter or exit. . . Which seemed to take some time longer than expected. "Let me in! Let me in!" He chirped repetitively at the inanimate object until it FINALLY sprung open to reveal the male of the duo - causing Deadeye to consider jumping onto his shoulder instead. He didn't seem like a bad person, and in fact whatever he had last said to the girl inside seemed to have perked her up considerably. Still, he looked incredibly intimidating to the Rowlet so the little owl opted in favor of pursuing the tree girl - flapping wildly inside and chirping his thanks back to Kintaro. "Thank you human!" They couldn't understand him but that didn't mean manners didn't matter! Deadeye found himself fluttering around amongst the different costumes until he was sitting high up on a shelf overlooking the female in question, ing his head off to the side curiously and simply staring. Everything this human was seemed completely opposite his trainer...And that was okay with him! Still, the last thing he wanted to do was startle the girl, chittering casually and spreading his wings wide in an attempt to get her attention. Hanako Lucali Hanako tried to follow Kintaro's gaze until she spotted the diadem as well. He seemed to like it so she assumed he was about to choose the pretty accessory...only he didn't. She frowned when he said the costume would be fine as it was. While he was busy trying to get the attention of the shopkeepers, she grabbed the diadem, keeping it hidden beneath the eye patch she carried with her for the time being. She would surprise him with it later. Kintaro had agreed to dress up with her so the least she could do was make sure he got the accessory he wanted! Hanako hugged both the eye patch and the diadem close to herself, smiling happily. This was going to be the best Halloween ever. She had a cute costume and a handsome prince to celebrate with. After all of the scary things that happened things seemed to finally be looking up. Just before she was called back to get her costume fitted she noticed a little bird trying to get her attention. She smiled up at him and waved. "Hello there~" Hanako was sure he wasn't from around there. Rowlets were from Alola. She could only assume his trainer was nearby somewhere or the poor thing was very lost. She had to follow the shopkeeper back to get her costume fitted but after that she was more than happy to talk to the Rowlet. Hanako vanished into one of the changing rooms for a few minutes. When she returned she was wearing her costume. She could not have looked happier if she tried. The costume was adorable and despite being a knight there wasn't too much armor. The minimal armor made moving around much easier for her. "What do you think?" She asked the little Rowlet when she saw him again, doing a little spin so he could see the full costume before she began to wander the aisles. Talking to the Rowlet had given her an idea. She began picking out random accessories and things that could fit a Pokemon, grabbing a pirate hat for the Rowlet while she was searching for things for her and Kintaro's Pokemon. He was wearing an adorable little hat already so she hoped he wouldn't mind her offering him a different hat to wear in its place. After her search was complete she went up front to pay for everything, patting her shoulder when she walked by the shelf the Rowlet was perched on. "I can't reach you up there, sweetheart. Could you come down here with me, please?"
After she had paid for the costumes, Hanako stepped outside to retrieve Kintaro. "Taro~! It's your turn to be fitted~!" She was excited to see how Taro would look in his costume. He was going to be the most handsome prince! After his costume was on she would give him the diadem and they would be able to do...whatever they were going to do next! She went back into the shop, adjusting her new eye patch carefully to make sure nothing was showing. Hanako actually felt like maybe, just maybe, she could really be cute for once. She wasn't going to let something silly like her eye patch being out of place ruin that for her. The old eye patch sat at the top of her bag of things for the Pokemon. It was in the perfect spot to be retrieved by a curious Rowlet if he happened to take an interest in it.rooker SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 42/25 Wild Encounter: 75/5 Item Posting: Light Ball 17/40 Inventory: Shell Bell - Zinnia, Potions x, Pokeballs x, Pokedex, Rare Candy x4, Sweet Bouquet, Water Gem, x3 Max potions, x1 Travel egg, x1 Freedom Flag - Item to be held by a Fire, Ice, or Water type Pokemon, it will then receive x3 exp per post for seven days of active posting, x2 Lum Berries, x2 Oran Berry, Berry Pot, TM 83 Infestation, TM 55 Scald, Specific Lure, Psychium Z - Ember, Vs. Kintaro Satoshi While he had originally only meant to wait outside the fitting room, Kintaro had drawn the conclusion he would better serve the establishment by waiting outside where he was not in the way. This caused a Rowlet to become the bane of his meager existence! "Ah--What the--Hey!" The man snapped, ducking and waving his hands above his head. Not even close to threatening Deadeye, but he swung all the same. Surprise flying things to the face had that effect on people. He didn't give much thought to the fluffy owl, other than taking note of how unusual he looked compared to most Pokemon he was used to. Kintaro, of course, had a working knowledge of all Pokemon. Even the ones from the Imaginary Island Nation of Not-Really-There. Because rejecting the existence of a thing did not excuse failure to accurately identify it. He was not, however, thinking about that place that didn't exist, and so Rowlet flew right past him without being identified. "There are policies against stray Pokemon invading places of business." Kintaro frowned to himself. "I should have tried to stop it." But he didn't, and it was gone. And he was now outside and away from the costumes. Out here he didn't have to think about the fact he had agreed to wearing a costume. He was not looking forward to this, regardless of what polite lie he told Hanako. He just had to get his bearings before he went to get dressed. The man frowned thoughtfully as he began reviewing data in his Pokedex.
While Llorona and Rhea were recovering from the ordeal of being robbed, they would find themselves facing the interesting procession of Pokemon that were Kintaro and Hanako's teams wandering away from the Pokemon Center to find their trainers. Since Odyss was the only one willing to carry Pokeballs--and lacked the skills to carry anything all that well in his current form--everybody was walking together like a class on a field trip. Kintaro's Pawniard headed the group stubbornly, only grudgingly sharing the front with his Shiny Luxio who was buzzing faintly with electricity. Mary had decided to practice tracking electric signatures like her trainer had told her was possible! Marshall the Pancham kept running off from the group to declare rivalries with hapless Pokemon also traveling outside of their balls and try to challenge them to fights. Odyss the Quilladin had to continuously run out, drag his partner back, and resume his place at the rear behind Kintaro's new Croagunk. While they often had a resting expression to mistake for boredom or casual malice, Llorona might be able to detect this particular Croagunk was in a foul mood. Her eyes were lowered and her mouth hung down with them. She grew agitated whenever the Quilladin tried to interact with her. Then there was Gandor, Kintaro's Rotom. He floated up overhead of the rest of the group, buzzing with amusement to himself and sparking from time to time for no clear reason. If the young woman and her brother's Litten decided to follow the unusual sight they would find themselves approaching Kintaro and the costume shop that he and Hanako were visiting. Mary mewled loudly upon seeing her Master again. "I found him! I found Master!" She cried triumphantly to the others, bounding down the street eagerly to Kintaro's side. She skidded to a halt and then nuzzled his shin to draw attention and tell him she had tracked him all on her own! Halfway across town, coming from the opposite direction of where she started looking...So maybe she had accidentally followed signals that weren't Kintaro's. She found him still! Attica hurried up behind Mary, waving her bladed arms at her trainer and signaling to him everyone was healed and ready to go. His acknowledgement of his Pokemon--after being shocked by Mary accidentally--made him painfully aware that today was going to be a Halloween celebration and Hanako had just gone to great lengths to dress him for the day. Attica and the others now presented him with dawning dread that she fully intended to dress everyone for tonight! "Attica, please return the Pokeballs." He intoned dully, returning Marshall first. "Did Jade behave herself?" The man asked, glancing at his Croagunk. Jade was taken aback by the name at first, then scowled at him, puffing up her sac and working a mouthful of something. She was returned before she could spit at him and Attica swiftly followed that up with an elbow jab to his calf. Kintaro grimaced sharply from the jab but didn't offer his Pawniard any further reaction. "Would you rather I not name my Pokemon?" Questioned the male, giving her a fully dead scowl indicating he wasn't interested in her fits right now. Behind the bench he rested on, Hanako was buying the pair's costumes along with a load of accessories for the very thing he was hoping to avoid. Odyss would be excited at least!((I hadn't actually meant "outside" outside when I posted that, but I rolled with it. Llorona BraithwaiteWith the current fiasco dealt with, or mostly so, Llorona nuzzled the Litten one last time affectionately. She had no idea what to do at this point but whatever it was, she had no intentions of setting Rhea down again! "Well...What do you think Rhea? Are we gonna find Deadeye?" She asked in a somber tone, eyeing the Pokemon who produced next to no response. Neither of them wanted to say it but things were not looking good where the Rowlet was concerned. The black and blue haired woman began to ponder returning to the hotel for the remainder of the day when something rather peculiar caught her eye in the form of several very different Pokemon walking as a unit. There was no human trainer with them and yet they traveled like any group of people might, making their way along casually. This was... An oddity to the girl who felt as though things like this didn't really happen. At least not back in her home town. Still, the strange sight alone wasn't exactly enough to spur the woman into following them. Rhea, however, seemed to have other plans. The moment the group of rag-tag Pokemon began their journey, the Litten in her arms wriggled about and started to rub her nose against Llorona's uniform, glancing back and forth between her current caretaker and the grumpy one of the bunch. "I really don't understand you, ya' know that right?" She asked rhetorically, causing Rhea to jump from her arms and fall into step several paces behind Odyss, Quilladin, and the very, very irritated looking frog Pokemon Llorona was certain she should recognize from her schooling. Normally - Llorona would not have accepted whatever little side quest Rhea seemed to have in mind for her, especially since her feet hurt as a result of walking nearly all day and jogging the remainder whilst looking for Deadeye. But a single meow from the Litten caused her to groan a bit and simply follow along. Cyren's Pokemon wasn't stupid, and she had yet to see Rhea move without some sort of purpose so... Perhaps there was a reason for her sudden interest in the group? "You are so lucky I have next to nothing else to do today. Let's get this over with before I keel over." Several times during the walk, Llorona had changed her mind about following Rhea and what she was quickly becoming convinced was an actual gang of random Pokemon. Every attempt at catching the little feline was met with complete failure however, so Llorona eventually resolved herself to walking with her arms crossed beneath her chest and scowling. They definitely belonged to someone - of that she was sure, there was little other reason that the woman could see for a random group of Pokemon to be carrying Pokeballs around and walking in such a tight cluster given their different species. By the time they arrived outside the costume shop, Llorona had gone so far off into her own thoughts - most of which revolved around whatever dangerous situation Deadeye could be in at this point, that she actually stumbled in an effort to avoid stepping on the suddenly sitting Litten, uttering a few choice words and hissing at the cat when she found herself on the pavement outside the store. Rhea seemed to pay Llorona very little mind, licking her paw in an almost y fashion while she watched the human pick herself up and pick at her clothing. She had no idea what it was that caused the sudden change in demeanor for the feline, but Llorona didn't exactly have a whole lot of time to dwell on it either, her eyes falling on the Pokemon they had been following as a human man began to return them one by one to their balls. "Oh...I was right, they do belong to someone.." The woman trailed off, waving awkwardly at Kintaro if for no other reason than because she had just tripped and fallen not five feet from him. Part of Llorona thought to add some type of greeting to the physical expression but the next time her lips parted she produced no words, her eyes falling onto her Rowlet. He was sitting on the shoulder of a woman in costume looking very pleased with himself! Deadeye was more than pleased that he had managed to draw a look from Hanako that was completely different from the one he usually received from Llorona. That in itself was a miracle to the little owl who hopped along the railing to follow the woman until she vanished into the next room. He sat patiently, knowing the human would eventually emerge. Llorona had used such small rooms while they shopped in the Alola region so it stood to reason that Hanako was simply changing her clothes. When she did emerge, Deadeye's beak hung open for a split second, his head ing off a bit to the side. She seemed to be asking for his approval. The Rowlet couldn't have looked anymore stupefied in that moment if he tried, watching her twirl and remaining rigid for some time. She looked amazing! Like some of the humans on the posters for movies! "I like it, I like it! You look good!" The little ball of feathers applauded, bobbing his body up and down in approval of her new outfit. The human seemed very excited so he saw no reason not to feed into her energy himself! Once the woman started through the isles once more, Deadeye made it a sort of game to flutter around at a distance, as he had been trained by Llorona to do. He never removed his eyes from the new human but saw no reason to invade her personal space... Until she quite literally asked him to do so. "Sweet-heart? I am a sweetheart!" He squawked in approval, continuing to dance excitedly where he was until he remembered her invitation and carefully glided down onto Hanako's shoulder. He was careful not to ruin her new outfit with his tiny talons, adjusting himself enough to risk showing the human a bit of affection in the form of a quick nuzzle before puffing his chest out proudly. She didn't know him but she was being kind... He didn't understand it, but the owl knew he liked the attention. He had picked a much better trainer this time around! Hanako Lucali Vervain and Sage had stayed right with Kintaro's Pokemon but at some point Zinnia and Ember had broken away from the group. In the time it had taken the others to get back to Kintaro, Ember and Zinnia had failed to chase down a strange looking Zorua that seemed to be watching them, become completely lost on the opposite side of town, tried and failed to capture an unnaturally quick Delibird, and had exploded repeatedly in their attempts to open the presents he had dropped around them after Zinnia had informed Ember that Del was a "friend". "Are you sure he's a friend? He seems pretty determined to kill our trainer." Ember muttered while he watched Zinnia deal with a wild Volbeat they had managed to annoy in the process of opening the presents. The little Froakie was being chased in circles by the irritated Bug. Eventually he turned and jumped at the Volbeat right as the Bug tried to tackle him. The two collided in the air and both fell to the ground, dazed by the impact. Zinnia managed to recover before the Volbeat and before it could react it was smacked upside the head by a froggy tongue. The poor Bug Type was knocked out as a result of the attack. "I'm pretty sure Del's a friend. He sends her nice things sometimes." Zinnia replied to the Gardevoir after checking to make sure the Volbeat would be okay. He knew his trainer would be upset if he didn't make sure the Bug would be fine. She was much too squishy for her own good sometimes. After a few more explosions and some angry mumbling from Ember they managed to find the correct present. The Gardevoir wasted very little time in Teleporting them back to the Pokemon Center. He just wanted to find Hanako and Kintaro and forget the Delibird's existence. They began walking in the direction they had seen the others head in, hoping they would be able to find them without any further incidents.
"Aren't you just the sweetest little birdy~" Hanako cooed, carefully picking the Rowlet off of her shoulder so she could kiss the top of his head. After kissing him, she turned to look back outside for Kintaro. He was supposed to be getting his costume fitted. "Maybe if I give him that diadem now he'll be more willing to change into his costume." She frowned, turning her attention back to the little Rowlet. She removed his hat, putting it in the bag of accessories she carried with her while she placed the cute pirate hat she had got for him on his head. "There we go! Now you're all dressed up too." She smiled thoughtfully and retrieved her eye patch from the bag as well. "This may be a little big on you but I think it will look cute." She set Deadeye on one of the nearby shelves, carefully securing the eye patch. She had to tie it in the back to make sure it wouldn't fall off of him while he was flying around. After making sure the eye patch wasn't going anywhere she stepped back so she could get a better look at him. "You look so adorable~!" She picked him up, hugging him to her chest before looking to see what all the commotion outside was about. Their Pokemon had found them! And...so had some trainer she didn't recognize. How had she not noticed any of them while she had tried to get Kintaro to change into his costume? She tilted her head and frowned until she noticed the Litten. Littens were from Alola too! The strange woman on the ground had to be the little Rowlet's trainer! "Is that your trainer?" If it was then she should probably bring her Rowlet to her. The poor thing had probably gotten lost! She had to be missing him terribly. Besides- she needed to go outside to convince Kintaro to get changed anyway.
Hanako finally exited the shop after everything was paid for and she was sure she had enough accessories for each of the Pokemon to play with. Upon realizing there was another trainer out front she decided to buy a few more things for her Pokemon as well. She set the bag of accessories on the ground for the Pokemon to begin picking through if they wanted to, turning her attention to Kintaro first before she addressed the Rowlet's potential trainer. "You're supposed to be getting fitted for your costume." She smiled softly as she placed the diadem on Kintaro's head and leaned down to give him a little kiss. "I believe the froggy requires a kiss to become a prince in the stories. You've been kissed. Now you have to become a prince." She giggled before turning her attention to Llorona. "H-hello." She greeted her timidly and motioned towards the Rowlet on her shoulder. "I-is this cutie yours? I-I noticed your L-Litten. A-Alolan Pokemon a-aren't common a-around here so I f-felt it safe to assume th-that maybe h-he belonged to you." Getting through a simple sentence proved to be a struggle for Hanako. Llorona was a stranger and she was not good at talking to strangers. She looked like she wanted to say more until she found her other shoulder was suddenly occupied by her Froakie. "Odyss, look! Mom's a knight!" He called to the Quilladin before he decided to say hello to the Rowlet and Litten. "Hi! Who are you guys? You don't look like any Pokemon I've seen before." Unlike Zinnia, Ember was not at all interested in socializing after dealing with Del. "What eldritch abomination spawned that Delibird?" The Gardevoir asked Kintaro as he sat down on the bench beside him, digging through the present he carried with him to make sure there wasn't anything dangerous in it. What happened next was a result of impressively awful timing on Hanako's part. She turned to ask Ember where they had run off to right as the Gardevoir managed to release a Beldum from a Pokeball he had found in the box. Hanako greeted her new Beldum by smacking her face against it. Ember slowly lowered the Pokeball back into the box and set it beside him on the bench before getting up to check on his trainer and the very confused Beldum trying to nuzzle her to make her feel better.Lv. 10 Volbeat vs Zinnia Zinnia used Quick Attack! Kintaro Satoshi Kintaro sat up with the intent of getting away from the shop before Hanako came out, but there was a stranger gaping at him. He frowned thoughtfully and signaled to Attica briefly. His flat expression fell upon the young woman before he nodded once to her. "Greeting. My name is Kintaro. Was there...something I could help you with?" He asked, wondering if she had heard of him to be staring so intently. Mary was distracted with the sight of Rhea, her fur sparking up again as she focused on a clear rival for her Master's affections. Unlike Attica, who took offense to anything remotely female, Mary liked to keep her hostility aimed at other Pokemon. The Luxio growled though her demeanor and expression indicated she was excited to see someone to play with. Using teeth, and claws, and electric shocks... "Hey! Hey there! What're you doing here?" Demanded the Luxio, trying to engage Llorona's Litten before she would try to zap the little lady. Attica had taken up a defensive stance with her bladed hands pointed directly at Llorona ready to slice this girl to ribbons if she so much as shuffled toward her Boss. The Pawniard had been slow at first wanting to help Kintaro with his request, but now that Jade and Marshall were secured there was nothing to stop her from trying to maim this poor stranger.
Odyss started the defusing once Zinnia arrived, joining his partner in the excitement and greeting Rhea first with enthusiasm. "Hey, yeah! What's up! I'm Odyss, that's my Boss! What's your name?" The Quilladin had his full attention on Rhea for two whole seconds before Zinnia's declaration finally processed through that brain of his. The gasp was loud and obscene, Odyss leaning back until he fell over and had to roll back to his feet. "Woooww! She is! I wanna be a knight! I wanna be--ohmigash!" And there went Odyss' attention. Lost into Hana's new bag of tricks. He dug through and tossed things as he went. Everyone would find costumes they wanted to wear. "C'mon! C'mon! Come pick your costume!" Cried the Quilladin like an oversized toddler. He was holding out a bright feather boa to Rhea. It wasn't really something he thought the Litten would like to wear but he was busy trying to shrug on a weird-shaped samurai helmet. Rhea could take the boa or pass it on to the next Pokemon in line.
Kintaro couldn't readily respond to so many stimuli at one time. He stood rigid from the kiss and stared down at Hana in her cute little costume. It looked amazing on her. Llorona showed little more interest to the man which caused him to lose focus on her now that Hanako was being so bold. Ember's own question was lost on his ears as he struggled to process the kissing. The joke was honestly clever, but the man had seemingly broken. He also looked unhappy in spite of his quick nod. "R-right...yes...the costume..." His tone betrayed his lack of enthusiasm, but even as he tried to force himself to participate, Hana surprised him a second time with the diadem he'd been admiring. Such a gesture deserved at least minor cooperation. Once he had entered the shop it was short work to suit him up and adjust the outfit until Kintaro exited in the long, flowing robes of an heir apparent. His diadem rested comfortably on his plain-looking hair which had been parted with some of it messed up on top to add some flavor to the costume. He did not appreciate the shop owner's behavior...Pack: Pokeball x, Potion x, Pokedex, Shell Bell (Attica), Burn Heal, Paralyze Heal, Awakening, Freeze Heal, 2x Ultra Ball, Lumiose Galette, Lava Cookie, Old Gateau, Castellia Cone, Big Malasada, Shalour Sable, Sweet Bouquet, 2x Lucky Charm, Nevermeltice, Snowball, 2x Lucky Egg, 1x Questionable Drink, 4x Big Mushrooms, TM 47 Low Sweep, X5 Jaboca Berries (+4 Bitter, +1 Sour), X1 Fist Plate, x3 Full Restore, Fightinium Z, Cermit's Chikan (+50 Max HP, make EXP count 50. Llorona BraithwaiteDeadeye was in no way prepared for the affection he was receiving on behalf of this complete stranger. Compliments turned to physical gestures, which in turn caused his feathers to plume in embarrassment. He was not ashamed of her treatment, but the owl simply wasn't sure how to handle it. So he continued to shuffle about throughout the entire ordeal, chirping merrily and bobbing up and down for Hanako to show her how happy he was that she existed. When Hanako removed his hat and began to dress him, the tiny creature had to resist the urge to cry. There was no way this human knew anything about his day prior to meeting him and yet she was giving him everything he had ever wanted from Llorona all in one sitting. "I'mma cutie~ I'm a cutie~ I-am-a-cutie~!" He practically sang, Nuzzling the human when she embraced him and cursing his lack of fingers. Deadeye had never wanted to return a hug so badly in his entire life! Of course, all good things in life came to an end, this end being much more abrupt than the Rowlet could have expected. "Oh no..." He chittered softly from Hanako's shoulder when she mentioned his 'trainer'. He tried to make himself as small as possible, tucking in every part of his feathered form. He wanted to run away again but doing so now meant leaving the cyan colored woman behind and he simply couldn't do that! So instead he remained relatively perched onto Hanako's shoulder even when she stepped outside, slinking back in a vain attempt to blend in with her impossibly bright hair. "Don't talk to Llo-o-na she is just going to-" The warning was lost on Hanako who, after providing some wonderful affection to her companion, chose to try and take up an awkward conversation with Llorona. Had Deadeye the ability to sigh in a human fashion, he would have. Instead, he provided a different universal expression in the form of a terrible cringe - his attention turning briefly to the Froakie that had joined him atop his new favorite perch. He was still somehow hoping Llorona wouldn't see him sitting there, so he chittered in the bird equivalent of a whisper, slinking back a bit further to the point where he was certain that he would fall. "M-my name is Deadeye. I think. That is my friend Rhea down there and...The human is my trainer, Llo-o-na. Llo-ro-nah. What kind of pokemon are you?" He asked, risking a glance over towards the black and blue haired woman and the rather curious expression she wore. Llorona didn't 'look' mad at him. But he didn't know the word to describe it either so the owl assumed the worst was about to come. Rhea wasn't entirely sure why she had followed this group of Pokemon but the gamble had paid itself in full by the time they reached the costume shop. She had noticed Deadeye the moment Hanako stepped out of the shop the first time and attempted to wave a paw at him only to find herself ignored! It was entirely possible that her friend hadn't seen her this time but at this point, she couldn't help but feel like he was avoiding them on purpose. "Deadeye~! Come back!" She mewled as the door shut, leaving Rhea outside with the strange man and his not so friendly Pokemon. The Luxio, in particular, seemed intent on chatting the litten up, causing Rhea to back away and hide behind Llorona's leg. Even then however she waved awkwardly and responded - "We are taking a walk. Our friend is inside the shop with that other human. My name is Rhea, what is yours?" She asked, hoping the question would infer her lack of interest in whatever game the Luxio seemed to want to play. Electric types hurt and she was too tired to play with it anyway...They had been running around all day! Upon seeing the Quilladin, Rhea took the opportunity to repeat her greeting in case he hadn't heard her explanation to the Luxio, nuzzling Llorona's leg gently. This one seemed a little too energetic, but at least it was friendly? Rhea meowed softly at the Quilladin when offered the strange item, shaking herself out as if to draw attention to the little red cape and hood she wore. It was a nice gesture but Llorona had purchased her an adorable outfit already! Better for one of the other Pokemon not wearing something to take their pick. When the girl with the strange colored hair remerged, Rhea finally stepped out in front of Llorona again, finding enough energy to hop up and down in place (even her excitement didn't merit getting too close to the Luxio), whining happily at Deadeye. "There you are! We've been looking for you all day~ Come down here and snuggle me!"Llorona wasn't entirely in the mood to exchange pleasentries with a stranger, especially given the level of hell she felt she'd been through today on account of her missing Pokemon. And yet in typical Braithwaite fashion the woman provided a very quick and informal bow, shaking her head at the male and pointing towards the glass windows of the costume shop. "Llorona Braithwaite, and probably not - there is a girl in there who has something that belongs to me. I kind'a need it back." Given that he had taken off on his own, the last thing that Llorona wanted was to try and chase him down. She had a creeping suspicion that he might still try to flee if she did. Plus he was currently inside where he couldn't exactly go far. Armed with this information, the dark haired woman patted her belt down carefully, counting the Pokeballs until she reached what should have been Deadeye's Poke'ball. If he tried to run away again she had every intention of returning the creature and dealing with him later. She watched through the glass while Deadeye interacted with the other woman, her grip on the ball loosening every so often as she observed them. He looked different and it was not the costume. He looked happy- happier than she'd ever seen him in fact. Llorona barely noticed Rhea between her legs, providing a gentle nudge with her body, a deeply concerned frown coming over her features while the scene continued to play out through the window. By the time Hanako emerged from the shop with a very frightened looking Deadeye on her shoulder, Llorona had slipped her hand and the ball it held behind her back. Something about returning him now didn't feel quite right to her. "He is mine actually, yes." She stated flatly in an honest to goodness attempt at keeping her temper in check. She hated that the other woman had dressed her Pokemon. That was going to be her way of buying Deadeye back and Hanako had taken that opportunity from her! Llorona forced her typical 'million dollar' smile, closing a bit of the distance between herself and the other woman, her eyes following Kintaro inside briefly while she tried to organize her next statement. If she lost her cool now she would ruin any chances she might have at calming her starter pokemon down and getting him back. "Yup. On vacation right now actually and he got a little lost - do you mind giving him back to me?" She asked in a clearly impaitent tone, goosebumps breaking out onto her forearm as she reached out for the Rowlet to join her. The thought of him touching her skin still bothered the hell of out Llorona, but given the circumstances she could deal with that. "C'mon Deadeye, we have things to do if we wanna make it to that party." She offered in what was essentially half begging and half warning the little Owl who only seemed to recoil at her request. This was not going to end well. Hanako Lucali "Is Llo-ro-nah scary? You look really nervous." Zinnia was confused by the Rowlet's behavior. Shouldn't he be excited to see his trainer again? Seeing Hanako always made him happy. "My name's Zinnia and I'm a Froakie!" He croaked and leaped from Hana's shoulder over to the confused Beldum floating beside her. Both Beldum and Hanako had been dazed by their collision but neither of them appeared to be hurt. "Where did Del find you?" He asked after he had found a comfortable position to rest on top of the floating Pokemon. The Beldum didn't respond to his question. Echo seemed determined to try to hide itself behind Hanako for now. There was too much going on for the poor thing to process so soon after being released from its Pokeball. It had just met its new trainer in a terribly uncomfortable manner and it didn't feel much like talking. Zinnia could only shrug, hopping down to join Odyss in digging through the bag Hanako had left for them.
Hanako smiled after she managed to collect herself and noticed Kintaro had gone back into the shop to change into his costume. The kiss had worked! Her happy expression soon faltered when she noticed Llorona's expression and how strange Deadeye was behaving. The poor Rowlet seemed so afraid. She frowned, reaching up to pet him while she tried to figure out what to say to Llorona. If the little owl didn't want to go back to her just yet she wasn't going to force him to. Keeping her Rowlet from her felt wrong but she decided to put the needs of the Pokemon first. She flinched in response to the impatient tone Llorona used when requesting Deadeye be given back to her but Hana didn't move to take the Rowlet off of her shoulder. If he wanted to go back to Llorona he was free to do so. She had no intention of stopping him. If he wanted to hide for a while longer instead she would allow him to do that too. When Deadeye recoiled Hanako took a small step back. "H-he is n-nervous right now. Pl-please give him some time to relax. I-I'm sure he'll be willing t-to return to you then." The Rowlet had clearly had a long day. She had no idea what had happened between him and his trainer but he seemed like he still needed some space. "U-Um...I-if you have somewhere t-to be m-maybe we could walk there w-with you. Th-then he could hi-hide f-for a while l-longer and t-try to c-calm down." At least she hoped she would. Hanako was very aware of how much taller than her Llorona was and how much more intimidating she was. If she hadn't been so determined to try to keep the Rowlet comfortable she probably would have been just as nervous and determined to hide as he was.
When Kintaro emerged from the shop her nerves were momentarily forgotten. She ran to him with a big smile on her face and hugged him tight. "You look amazing~! I knew you would make a good prince~!" Deadeye was rescued from the excited flower knight by Ember, who picked him off of her before he could be knocked off of her shoulder accidentally. He set the Rowlet down next to Odyss and sat down on the ground with the other Pokemon. "It's probably safer down here until things calm down." He patted Deadeye's head and shrugged. Hanako stood on the tips of her toes to kiss Kintaro's cheek before she turned her attention back to Llorona, holding on to Kintaro's hand to remind herself she was currently safe. Nothing bad was going to happen. "I-if you walk with us until you get where you're going your Rowlet will be able to talk to the other Pokemon too. Having others to talk to might help him too." Llorona would be able to keep an eye on her Rowlet and Deadeye wouldn't have to go back to Llorona until he had his chance to calm down. It was the best option as far as Hanako was concerned.
While his trainer was busy trying to sort out the situation with the Rowlet, Zinnia had discovered a new way to get himself into trouble. Hanako looked stressed- which was the exact opposite of a good thing. She had been through enough the past few days without adding on to her troubles. He saw the perfect way to cheer her up floating along above them. He just needed a way to reach it. The Froakie leaped from the ground and up on to the Beldum. It wasn't as close as he would have liked but it was just close enough for his tongue to snap out and hit a passing Flabebe. The little Pokemon panicked, attempting to knock the Froakie off of the Beldum with a wind attack. It managed to knock Zinnia on to the ground but he jumped right back up a moment later. He made the leap from ground to Beldum and then from Beldum to Flabebe. He was going to drag it down where he could each it without as much difficulty. Zinnia hadn't expected the Flabebe to tackle him as soon as he got close though. He dropped and probably would have hit the ground a second time if Echo hadn't caught him. Before he could attack again a Pokeball was thrown at the Flabebe. It shook three times before pinging loudly that the Pokemon had been caught. Hana was torn between looking like an excited puppy when she caught the floating flower and being upset with her Froakie for getting himself hurt and picking a fight with the local Pokemon. She retrieved Zinnia from her Beldum and hugged him to her chest. "Nice find, my love. Please try to be more careful though." Her poor Froakie was going to land himself in the Pokemon Center again before long. She was sure she had some berries in her bag that she could feed him to heal him up so they could avoid the trip this time around. For now he would have to be content with snuggles until things that been sorted out with Llorona. "S-sorry. O-oh! T-Taro! A-are you okay with us w-walking with her to where ever she's going?" Hana still didn't actually know the stranger's name or if she was fine with traveling together for now but running it by Kintaro first was probably for the best anyway. She fully intended to stick right by him. Wandering off- especially with a stranger- seemed to get her into trouble.Zinnia vs Lv. 11 Flabebe Zinnia used Lick! (-25 65/90) Flabebe used Fairy Wind! Kintaro Satoshi Llorona's response was not the most desirable thing, but she at least related her intention. He turned to find Hanako with the Rowlet that had attacked him earlier. The sound that had followed was not terribly pleasant. Litten was one thing, he could brush that off as a mutant Meowstic. Not the longest stretch. Rowlet, however, was not a very convincing Hoothoot! If it hadn't been for Hanako distracting him with needing to get changed Kintaro might have changed his tune with Llorona instantly. The less he had to think about that tropical hell the better off he would be. Once he was changed and free to be miserable wherever he went he was accosted with another kiss he never asked for. Kintaro looked helpless but he struggled not to let Hanako see his distress. The man had agreed and made a promise. He was doomed to keep it. Odyss, at least, made up for everybody else's failure to enjoy the holiday. When Rhea denied the boa, Odyss flung it over Mary's head. Which made sparks dance across the ground and the accessory. The Luxio mewled out in shock (HA!) as she struggled to disperse the energy she'd gathered for a battle. Master's nice friend got it for her! Don't burn up! She flailed and yowled and rolled on the ground, but once she was finished the boa was only a little burnt on some ends and now it was all dirty and messed up. Kintaro looked between the two women curiously, trying to determine how he could get rid of the Rowlet and convince Hana that Llorona would be fine on her own. He had enough helpless animals to take care of. He did not need another one that liked to dress up as a multi-colored Mightyena.
"Ms. Lucali, if I may." Kintaro interjected finally, looking to Llorona as if studying her body to understand her behavior. "Ms. Braithwaite has expressed a need for her Pokemon's return." He explained in a calm, level tone radiating logic and reason. Which was a sham. Kintaro would never let someone take a Pokemon that was so clearly avoiding them in any other situation. Do what one must all the same. "I understand you and this..." He struggled to make up a species name that wasn't Rowlet. "...Pokemon has found its owner. You wanted to help it do that, didn't you? It is important to reunite Pokemon with their trainers. She does not require...intervention." Best to pretend he didn't know what he was looking at so he could later pretend it wasn't anything. He also stressed the word "intervention" and further punctuated it by turning his gaze on Llorona. She didn't require intervention, did she? Some work habits he just couldn't part with. Deadeye was scared and anxious and had to be taken from Hana by Ember just to get even a little closer to his trainer. Was he being abused? His expression hardened slightly. He did not want to have to take this Rowlet from the young stranger. He had a new Croagunk who badly needed training and acclimation to life as an owned Pokemon. Her attitude to this point had more than proven that. Attica took advantage of the moment to move in between Kintaro and Llorona, giving Rhea a menacing glare. "You heard him! Scram!" The Pawniard turned on Deadeye and waved her knife hands at the Rowlet. "What kinda Pokemon doesn't stick with their trainer?! It's a shame!" Where Kintaro was trying to avoid acknowledging the Alola Region, Attica was getting furiously defensive of her own trainer. Llorona was as pretty as Hanako. Prettier, maybe! Then there was this cute little fire cat. The Pawniard couldn't bear to let him be taken away by one of them. Even so, there was a pang of guilt. Attica knew what kinds of Pokemon didn't stick with their trainers just as well as Kintaro did. And she was trying to chase it away for her own selfishness.
Odyss was getting defensive now, too. He waved down Gandor who looked thoroughly confused even as he took a position next to Odyss just to interfere with Llorona's view of her Rowlet. Something was wrong, and Miss Hana's new owl friend was part of it. "Hey. Don't worry. Boss'll take care of ya. He knows lots and lots!" Odyss had not been listening, long lost into the bag of costume materials. He sincerely believed Kintaro had what was best in mind for Deadeye. He heard Kintaro argue that Deadeye should be returned to his trainer, but didn't understand that it was definitely not a reasonable declaration he made. Gandor looked lost and confused, shaking his head side to side and sparking his frustration. "Odyss, we really should pick our fights. Ya know? Why don't we all just chill out? Nobody's mad." The Rotom scowled at Attica who was glaring daggers at him. "Nobody smart is mad!" He snapped additionally. Llorona Braithwaite"I-I'm not nervous." Deadeye cooed softly even while his behavior indicated everything except calm. Llorona was scary and he was certain she was extremely upset with him for running away. But what choice did he have?! She didn't want him and now he did not want her either! When the Froakie introduced itself, Deadeye nodded in acknowledgment and prepared to compliment the pretty creature on its exotic color when his trainer reached out to take him. She hated it when he touched her so why now? It seemed like the type of trick she would use before chasing him around the hotel with her bag again. The tiny Pokemon stared at her offered arm anyway even while Hanako took a step back, confused as to what exactly he should do. She was his trainer whether he liked it or not but he knew in his heart she didn't love him whereas the woman whose shoulder he was currently cowering on seemed thrilled by his company. "I don't wanna!" He squawked instinctively after Hanako explained an alternative to being returned to Llorona. One or both of them had clearly made Llorona very mad, he could see the same look in her eye that he'd witnessed in the bathroom back at the hotel days prior. She was about to do something incredibly stupid and he was instantly regretting not doing as told if for no other reason than because he didn't want anybody else to get hurt! "M-maybe I should go back. This outfit is too good for me anyway. . . I'm sorry." Deadeye got as far as opening his wings when he found Ember's hands wrapped around him, the world growing so much larger as he was placed onto the ground by the Gardevoir. If this wasn't a sign for him to stay he didn't know what was! Still, the tiny creature couldn't help but stare at Llorona and shudder. Every moment seemed to make her look more and more agitated. "I don't think I can snuggle right now Rhea.." The grass type warned, slipping back a few paces on his tiny feet just in time to witness what he thought for a brief moment was the Froakie snatching a tiny flower out of mid-air. Kalos Pokemon were weird! Llorona's smile shattered like glass the instant her 'demand' was denied by both the Rowlet and the woman with the Cyan hair. Like it or not, Deadeye was her pokemon and this stranger wasn't going to take him from her. "Nervous, huh? He isn't the only one now is he?" Llorona asked, taking a bold step forward and planting her hands onto her hips in a pompous fashion. She could smell anxiety as Sharpedos smelled blood in the water and this girl was bleeding out. "I don't need the company, I have been doing just fine on my own up to this point - and no offense but you don't seem like the type of person I would get along with exactly. So, maybe you should just return what belongs to me before it becomes a problem. That Rowlet is a registered Pokemon so if I want it back, it comes back - That is how the law works little girl." At some point during her strange mixture of threats and scolding, Llorona had taken another step towards the other trainer even with all of their Pokemon about. Stubbornness had given Llorona her fair share of scs and bruises in the past but she knew how to work these types of situations. This woman was not tough and it showed through better than if she had been wearing a sign expressing such. As Hanako turned to greet what Llorona was quickly coming to learn was the hand of her traveling companion, her eye twitched a bit. The man looked a lot more serious, albeit, calm like her brother, Cyren. Between the two of them, they easily had three times the amount of Pokemon she carried as well - especially since she couldn't count on Deadeye to actually help her if she decided to blow a fuse. As such, when he opened his mouth and seemed to express an understanding to her whim the girl couldn't help but allow herself to relax just slightly, her hands dropping away from her hips. She couln't help but smile at just how formal this male was. It reminded her of how people treated her back home. "Well there we go. The words of wisdom from your keeper! It's a Rowlet by the way. Grass Pokemon from Alola." Llorona stated with a singular finger raised in a matter-of-factly fashion. Why she suddenly felt the need to be the authority on Pokemon in any given situation was lost even to herself, but the man didn't seem to know what it was that his friend was protecting and that needed correction!. The woman opened her mouth to continue agreeing with Kintaro only to find that he had adopted quite the look in spite of his earlier agreement to return her Pokemon. The male's expression was too serious! "H-Hey! He said we could have Deadeye back! Don't be mean!" Rhea offered even while still cowering behind Llorona's leg. There were too many Pokemon for them to get into a fight now. Why hadn't she been allowed to stay with Cyren? She really liked Llorona but the human was instigating something fierce! She meowed from her place behind the human, counting the Pokemon they were facing until her eyes found Deadeye who immediately spun his head around backward in response to the Pawniard's insult. "It's easy to talk that way when Llo-o-na isn't your trainer...And thank you." He chittered in absent retort before thanking Odyss for the coverage, keeping his gaze fixed opposite what he assumed was about to be an escalated situation. Llorona wriggled her nose at the couple, heaving a sigh while she seemed to calculate the odds of simply taking her Pokemon and being on her way. Given how aggravated she was, throwing Atlas out to brawl almost appealed to her if for no other reason than to satisfy her huge ego. She knew better, however, lacing her fingers together behind her head suddenly to deter any further aggression. There was no way she was going to ruin her outfit before the party, even as sweet as the thought of picking the oddly short female and her own Rowlet apart was. "I just want my Pokemon back. There is no need to fight over something as dumb as a Rowlet. The Alolan Pokemon are as lame as the region itself. . . That being said, I am not leaving without my little feathered friend over there because my brother will kill me if I come back missing my starter. If you want reimbursement for that tacky outfit you bought him then fine. If you want to follow me to the palace, that is okay too. But when we get there I am putting him back into a ball and he can stay there until he learns not to run away like a brat. How does that sound to you pudgy?" The added insult at the end was hardly necessary and Llorona was well aware of it. But given how much trouble she'd been through today - hurting the feelings of some native girl was hardly her concern. Especially given how much trouble Hanako was giving her about returning her Pokemon. If it meant she could avoid having to fight while short on Pokemon and still get Deadeye back, Llorona could indulge a little stroll, they were dressed for the occasion anyway so she saw little harm in it. (Oof, A mightyena. Also stop being so in denail about the wonderful nation of Wakan- I mean Alola :'D You are only gonna make this harder on yourself!) Hanako Lucali This was not how she expected her first time celebrating Halloween to go. Wasn't it supposed to be a fun holiday? There were so many pretty decorations and costumes and everyone always looked so happy. Hanako was anything but happy. She was miserable. Between Kintaro dismissing what was clearly a problem and Llorona's hostility the tiny mote of courage that had been so carefully preserved earlier after she had asked Kintaro to be her prince was nearly destroyed. She looked to Kintaro for help, refusing to believe that he would really let the Rowlet be taken when he was so clearly uncomfortable being near his trainer right now. He needed their help! All of the commotion had managed to get Vervain's attention. He joined the group of Pokemon gathered near the bag on the ground, looking to Ember for an explanation as to what exactly was going on. Their trainer was visibly distressed. They needed to get her out of whatever this mess was before the situation could escalate any further. "Sage, get over here, now." Vervain ordered the Pikachu to join the others, tapping the spot on the ground beside him with his long claws. If things took a turn for the worse he would prefer Hana's current strongest Pokemon be within shocking distance of what the Drilbur had decided was yet another threat. At least she wasn't as obnoxious looking as the Team Flare members Hana had encountered so far. "I'm pretty sure that trainer is mad." Zinnia called down to Gandor from his spot in Hana's arms. He paused then shrugged. Technically he still wasn't wrong. Nobody smart was mad. If this trainer was smart then her Rowlet wouldn't have run off. She would know how to take care of him and he would want to stay with her. "You don't gotta go anywhere! Taro's being silly right now but Mom's got this! She'll protect you! She is a knight after all!" Zinnia croaked cheerfully. When he looked up at his trainer the smile that had appeared on his face faded. She looked upset. Hanako being upset wasn't enough to prevent her from responding however.
Perhaps it was exhaustion after dealing with Team Flare and being threatened with losing her Pokemon. Maybe it was the stress from her Deino being stolen or the discomfort recovering from the injuries she had received when she had been attacked. Whatever it was something forced that little mote of courage to hold out and before she could stop herself Hanako found herself responding to Llorona. She didn't stutter nor did she whisper. Her voice was as clear as day. "You're truly lucky if any of your Pokemon want to be around you." It was a simple statement said more like an observation than an actual insult. Hanako sounded like she might as well have been saying the sky was blue. After listening to Llorona for a few minutes she could understand why Deadeye had fled from her. She didn't want to be around her either. Her courage faded then but she didn't bother to try to hide behind Kintaro. Hanako was sad and hurt. All she wanted to do was take her Pokemon and head back towards the Pokemon Center. There she would change out of her costume and maybe find a place to sleep through the night. Halloween wasn't worth all of this.
"You're welcome to come with us if you would like." She offered the Rowlet before walking back in what she assumed was the direction to the Pokemon Center. Unlike Llorona she had no interest in forcing him to do anything he didn't want to do. She was going to let Deadeye decide on his own who he felt like following. While she was walking she let her Gardevoir take her bag from her but only after she had retrieved her sweater from it. She wasted little time in putting it on and pulling it tight around herself. She assumed her looked ridiculous so she wanted to cover up as much of the costume as she could until she changed her clothing. A Wailmer trying to pass for a cute knight was a stupid idea. She shouldn't have bothered. As soon as she had put what she decided was a comfortable distance between herself and the other two, Hanako removed her new eye patch and gave it to Zinnia to hold for her, pulling her hair around in front of her face to cover the socket. Somehow keeping the knight eye patch on felt more humiliating than leaving the socket exposed did. She was glad nobody could see her face at the moment. She would have been able to decide if the exposed socket or the tears streaming down the opposite side of her face was more embarrassing.rooker SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 45/25 Wild Encounter: 66/5 Item Posting: Light Ball 19/40 Inventory: Shell Bell - Zinnia, Potions x, Pokeballs x, Pokedex, Rare Candy x4, Sweet Bouquet, Water Gem, x3 Max potions, x1 Travel egg, x1 Freedom Flag , x4 Lum Berries, x6 Oran Berry, Berry Pot, TM 83 Infestation, TM 55 Scald, Specific Lure, Psychium Z - Ember, Vs. Kintaro Satoshi Uh-oh. Kintaro had gone to great lengths for Hana in an effort to let her explore her own life. Now he'd gone and ruined it all. Mary and Odyss shrank at Han's choice words, feeling ashamed even though the Luxio had never joined in the dismissal of the Rowlet, Odyss had even tried to be on her side! Gandor watched the young woman go with pointed disinterest. He knew a bad fight when he saw one. Although he was equally confident Kintaro had everything he needed to spank this kid. It was just an ugly thing. Deadeye should go home and things should go from there. That was the Rotom's opinion. And he was good at pragmatism like Kintaro...So why did he feel bad about it? Even Attica faltered at the look of Hanako. The Pawniard wasn't used to feeling guilt about hurting somebody's feelings. She didn't like it! Stupid flower girl! Stupid owl from the stupid island that Boss liked to pretend didn't exist! Stupid Mightyena girl! Kintaro wasn't sure how to proceed. He should be OK with this. That kind of face assured he could tuck this costume away and never dismay himself with its presence again. It was a nice costume...and he liked the little crown she had bought. While his Pokemon remained on edge, Kintaro resolved to try and mend his injured friend's heart. He moved to pass Llorona, stopped, and turned to face her with the cool demeanor that felt like the icy grip of death to whoever drew its ire. Rather than speak at first he presented the young trainer with a business card to Second Chansey. "I know the things I know because I am exceptional at what I do." He began, words coming out in practiced ease even as the ice spilled from his lips. In a roundabout way he chided her for thinking he didn't know what a Rowlet was. "I have certain expectations of my environments and their occupants, Ms. Braithwaite. You have demonstrated thus far that you are unreliable in the best situation so far." He touched his name on the card. "I am a registered Pokemon Rehabilitation Specialist. As few understand, that comes with a great deal of expectations themselves. Chief among them is a policy known as Mandatory Reporting. If you require aid as I believe that you may, I suggest calling this number and requesting Ms. Alyssa Ruka personally. Inform her Mr. Satoshi sent you and you will get all the aid you need." He didn't expect Llorona to understand the words precisely, but he was not subtle in the simple declaration that his blurb of mumbo jumbo was a grave threat indeed. Mandatory reporting meant that it was his civic duty as a health professional of any kind to inform the Pokemon League of toxic treatment of Pokemon. He had threatened her with the promise that she wouldn't have to worry about losing her Rowlet again. Or her Litten. Or any Pokemon she owned. They would be taken from her by lawfully empowered hands. A case of Pokemon abuse was not taken lightly by the Leagues in any region. He had, in the same breath, given her a chance to fix some of her issues. Even if maybe that meant finding Deadeye a new home. She could trust his employers to take care of her Rowlet if that were truly a step she needed to take. He had a duty to help trainers as much as their Pokemon. He wasn't heartless.
"Odyss. Gather the bag. Attica. Gandor. Mary. Me. Please." He was curt and calm but Attica trembled as she moved to follow him. The Pawniard had gone from red hot to ice cold in the moments she heard Kintaro use that tone. "Good day, Miss." Professional could be far more terrible than passionate. Even if she thought she could take him, Llorona had a clear line drawn in front of her that Kintaro Satoshi was not someone you wanted for an enemy. Even if he did offer her a very helpful outlet to get things in order. As if to demonstrate his disdain for Llorona's attitude--and admit that he'd been in the wrong--he held his arm up and straight out. If Deadeye had not already winged after Hanako, Kintaro was offering the Rowlet another chance to leave Llorona behind if he wanted it. His Pokemon had a mix of expressions as they passed the young woman. Odyss looked nervous because Attica was scared, he shot Llorona a furtive look like he wanted to apologize for whatever Kintaro just did but knew better. Attica walked on shaky legs that didn't seem to want to move but she spared one last passing glare to the girl who had made her Boss turn scary. Gandor floated on by lazily, stopping just long enough to blow a raspberry right at her. Mary moved on nervous paws, unsure what just happened or why everyone was suddenly so upset. She paused midstep to glance at Rhea. "Uhh...I-if you ever wanna Battle." She had no idea why that offer would sound tempting to the Litten, but offer it she did. Mary had a strong sense of Rivalry, so even if Rhea didn't like the idea of fighting this strange Shiny Luxio Mary sure liked the thought. Assuming they were not followed Kintaro picked his way toward the Pokemon Center. She wasn't exactly running there but neither was moving at the quickest of paces. The man made to catch up with his companion in hopes of digging out...anything besides his own arrogance that upset her.
"Miss Lucali?" He called out to the young lady. "Ms. Lucali. I must apologize. I overstepped. Even as a citizen of Kalos, you have your own responsibilities to the well-being of Pokemon." He admitted he had handled the situation poorly but not that he had thrown Hanako's own ideal back at her. "You had the situation well in hand and required no interference on my part." Hana had been told to stop bothering Llorona and let her have Deadeye back when Deadeye wanted nothing to do with his human. There was so much more wrong with what he'd done than merely butting in where he wasn't needed! He owed her several apologies on that merit alone. He spotted Zinnia and realized he had royally messed up. "Why does Zinnia have your eye patch? Come. It will get ruined like that." He wasn't even being subtle about trying to steer her attention away from his failure. He didn't want to tell her that he had just tried to leave a Pokemon with a potentially abusive trainer for an altogether petty excuse. He couldn't confess that he had been rude and cruel and unreasonable himself. Kintaro himself had proven already that he was a case worker's nightmare when it came to mistreating Pokemon. He didn't hit them or scream at them or do anything you could outright call him on. He made goals and had expectations and then held it against them when they couldn't meet his lofty ideals. Who could really prove abuse when a Pokemon was just suffering from low self-esteem? I tried to send a Rowlet away simply for being a Rowlet... The thought bit into the back of his mind and held fast. He was no better than Llorona. That made his attempt to cheer up Hanako falter. Deadeye had committed no sin, and Kintaro didn't need to understand the language of Pokemon to know panic when he heard it. Odyss had quickly gone from the head of the group to the rear. He panted and puffed and whined, hefting the accessory bag onto the floor and falling. His awkwardly planted knight helmet rolled on the ground. He was a tough little Quilladin, but he was not built for jogs across town with a pile of costume supplies to carry! he scrabbled against the street to grab for Hanako's gift. He wanted to put his helmet on...OK, five more minutes. She would understand.(Oof? You wish you was cute as Mightyena, gurl! Ouch. The feelz. Make them stop! T^T Taro, what did you DO!?) Llorona Braithwaite"Taro...Is the human man? He thinks I should go back too. I don't wanna cause any trouble. Erm, any MORE trouble." This entire ordeal was, whether intentionally or not, Deadeye's fault. If he hadn't run from Llorona she wouldn't be in as bad a mood as she was now, and if he hadn't taken to hiding on Hanako's shoulder, the poor girl wouldn't look as distraught as she did. Even the human male seemed to have become serious - or more serious anyway, and it was all because of him. Once Deadeye corrected his head to a forward facing angle, he began to observe the humans. Everyone was still on edge and it wasn't about to get better. He couldn't keep being selfish or someone else was going to get hurt. He would return to his trainer if it meant no longer burdening the tree woman with sadness. And yet, even while he was trying to shake his outfit loose, Hanako spoke up in a very solid manner and began to walk away. She may have looked timid and weak but he had to admit, she had courage in the best of ways! "Llo-o-na isn't going to like your trainer I don't think. Not one bit. . . But I like her a lot!" Whether this was a general statement to all of the Pokemon present or the Froakie was anyone's guess. But her statement ran true. Aside from the Ponyta who had delusions of grandeur in his assumption of Llorona's skill as a trainer - Deadeye found himself hard pressed to think of any of the Pokemon she'd obtained so far really 'liking' the woman. His sharp eyes followed Hanako while she put her sweater on, considering the offer she had posed to him. He truly did not want to see anyone get hurt because of him, and the last thing he wanted was to bring Hanako down even more. But he really liked her, and as much as she had tried to make his day better, the tiny owl wanted to do the same if he could. To say that Llorona was pleased with the outcome of their conversation would have been only a half-truth. Even she generally didn't resort to name calling but the day had really gotten to her and this stranger was making her life difficult! With that in mind, she stared Hanako down until the woman finally offered some semblance of retort that really shouldn't have struck any chord within the overly dressed wolf. She didn't NEED her pokemon to like her, only their obedience was a requirement for the task at hand. And yet, the more Llorona seemed to ponder the simple statement, the more red her face got, eventually drawing a snort from the woman as she turned her nose up at the passing trainer. "I don't believe in all that lovey-dovey trainer bonding stuff. Pokemon are cute pets or battle companions. That is about where I draw the line for them." It was evident that Hanako was probably too far from her to have heard the reply given how low a tone Llorona had used. But she still felt it necessary to say something. She watched Kintaro gather his flock and proceed to follow after what she assumed was his girlfriend, a snarky smirk coming over her still very much flushed expression. He was definitely the smarter of the two but that man was about to be in some sort of dog house now. "Exceptional..?" Llorona took the offered card and gave it a quick glance over before giggling and rolling her eyes. "Sounds like someone is only having a change of heart because his current squeeze just got more than a little butthurt. I understand it, and I sympathize with you about as much as I can... but I won't tolerate an idle threat. If you wanna report me than you are more than welcome to do so but I assure you it'll just be a huge waste of time. My pokemon are well fed, they are healed when they need to be, and I don't abuse them. That one over there is just being a little brat because he didn't get a costume right away." In punctuation to the statement, Llorona dropped the card and stuck her tongue out at Kintaro while he attempted to catch up to Hanako. Sure, the woman had told a half truth in that she HAD forgotten Deadeye completely, but feeling left out didn't justify the hell she'd been through today, did it? As a seperate thought she couldn't keep herself from, Llorona had to admit that she had never seen such a contrasting couple in all of her time on this planet. Just went to show that love found a way! Now that the other trainers had finally dispersed, Llorona remembered the Pokeball she had been holding this entire time. Deadeye still seemed to be debating whether or not to leave but she wasn't prepared to waste any more time following obnoxious locals and their petty ideals around. She needed a shower and some sleep to prepare for the party! "Time to come home Deadeye. You've had your fun for one day." Blinking curiously when the return function on the ball she held out in his direction didn't trigger, Llorona proceeded to attempt the same action several times over before she caught on to the fact that it wasn't working. She shook the device in her hand with a sour expression, eventually tossing the ball at him and cringing when it hit the Rowlet and simply bounced off. Instead of storing the Pokemon she had desired - one popped out instead, causing Llorona's eye to twitch. "O-oh..Wait, don't run away! That was an accident! Come on!" She snapped, receiving a squawk from Deadeye who immediately took to the sky after the other two trainers. Llorona pressed her hands along her belt, completely ignoring a very, VERY confused Togetic. Where had she put Rowlet's Pokeball?! Counting the balls on her belt once more caused her to come to an unsatisfactory conclusion. The ball registered to her Rowlet was still inside the bag she'd lost. "W-what?" Rhea mewled, watching the events play out before her only to have her attention stolen by a strangely colored Luxio. Before the thing had seemed almost menacing but now it just seemed cute as could be! The Litten walked in a small circle before planting her butt onto the pavement, waving at the shiny Pokemon. The fact that it had acknowledged her either as a friendly challenge or a potential rival was still flattering even if also rather strange. "Damn it, Come back! I didnt't even throw it that hard you big baby!" Rhea's ears twitched atop her head. This was the tone she was used to Llorona using. Whiny and spoiled! The small feline watched Llorona scoop up the Pokeball their new friend had appeared from, remembering that the person who'd robbed them had, in fact lost a Pokemon of his own in the process. This caused Rhea to giggle even given the terrible situation they were all in, batting a paw in the Togetic's general direction and introducing the poor creature to its new life. "Hi~ I am Rhea, That little owl you bumped into is Deadeye, and the girl moping right now is Llorona, she is going to be your new trainer and I am super sorry about that... Although your last trainer took things that didn't belong to him so this might actually be a step up for you? I don't know but I would follow us unless you feel like getting lost!" She offered the closest thing to a shrug that a cat Pokemon could really offer, stretching her back out when Llorona jogged past her in an attempt to keep up with the others and starting off after her. For better or worse it looked like they were going to be following these humans around until Deadeye decided to come back. IF he decided to come back. The thought of losing her friend reminded Rhea that she was supposed to be sad, causing the Litten to whimper a bit while she trotted along behind Llorona. The Togetic seemed lost for words but certainly heard Rhea's own, fluttering into the sky in a panicked fashion and following the Litten. The way Rhea saw things, if Llorona didn't change her tune she was going to lose a lot more than just Deadeye soon enough. (:L Llorona is the prettiest pupper you've EVER seen. It would appear that Hanako's superpower is extreme sympathy. It hurt my feelz too. Hanako Lucali Zinnia tried offering Hanako her eye patch as soon as he heard Kintaro approaching but she shook her head. When they got back to the Pokemon Center she would cover the socket with her bandages, get Zinnia and her new Flabebe all healed up, and then go to bed. She didn't want to talk to anyone right now so she refused to look up at Kintaro when he attempted to talk to her. She did, however, pull her sweater tighter around herself in an attempt to hide her costume further. When he mentioned her eye patch she took it from Zinnia and handed it to him. "It's fine. We'll change back into our normal clothes at the Pokemon Center then I think I'll go to bed for the night. Tomorrow I'm going to focus on finding Baloth." She paused, remembering that she was crying then and quickly wiping her face with her sleeve. "I'm sorry I wasted your time with this. I'm probably too old to be celebrating Halloween anyway" She added after her face was...less awful to look at. Being presentable was impossible while her socket was still visible. Had she not heard the clatter behind her, she would have continued on towards the Pokemon Center without another word. Kintaro usually seemed to know what was best and she really wanted to believe that he had a good reason for telling her to give the Rowlet back to Llorona before he was ready to return to her but she couldn't. She couldn't come up with a valid reason for wanting to let a Pokemon that panicked go back to the thing that was causing it to be upset. She stopped when she heard Odyss struggling and turned back to help him. The sweet little Quilladin sounded like he was having trouble. She knelt down in front of him, letting Zinnia climb up on to her shoulder before she adjusted Odyss's helmet. "There you go, sweetheart. It should stay in place now." Hanako hugged the Quilladin tight and kissed him before taking the bag from him. After some consideration she wrapped her arms around Odyss, deciding to try to pick him up and carry him like she did Zinnia. "I think you'll be able to keep up just fine like this." She smiled a bit despite her mood. Carrying a Quilladin was an awkward process- especially when she was carrying a bag of costume accessories- but she was happy to hold Odyss for a bit. She nuzzled him and continued on towards the Pokemon Center after looking back for Deadeye. When she saw he had chosen to follow them she nodded towards her free shoulder if he wanted to land on her. She still had room to carry one more baby along with her...maybe two if a Pokemon felt like sitting on her head.
Hanako's smile faltered when she realized Llorona had decided to follow them as well. She said nothing to her, her offer to Deadeye remaining available as she turned and continued on her way to the Pokemon Center. Avoiding thoughts of Halloween was difficult while carrying an adorable Quilladin in an equally adorable helmet so she decided to distract herself by watching her Beldum instead. Both it and the Flabebe she had just caught needed names. She turned her gaze to the ground, avoiding eye contact with everything that wasn't a Pokemon. She was still upset with Kintaro and wasn't entirely sure what to say to him and she wanted nothing to do with Llorona. How anyone could tolerate someone so mean was beyond her. Kintaro still felt like the more awkward of the two to deal with despite how much she disliked Llorona. Llorona was a stranger. Not every stranger she came across was going to be a good person- as her encounters with Team Flare had already taught her. Kintaro wasn't a stranger. He was her friend and his behavior had really hurt her. She glanced at the man, her tears returning before she could get control of them. Maybe she would try saying more to him after they were at the Pokemon Center and changed out of their costumes. Right now she didn't think she could manage it.
Zinnia winced when Hana began crying again, nuzzling her cheek to try to cheer her up. "Mom's kinda a mess." He muttered to Odyss, croaking weakly. It had been an awful day for Hana. Maybe going back to the Pokemon Center and sleeping would be for the best. She had been so excited earlier though...Halloween had to be super fun if it made his trainer so happy. They had to find a way to make sure the happy thing couldn't be ruined for her! "Maybe we could try on the different things in that bag for her! She looked happier when she was helping you with your helmet!" It wasn't much but Zinnia really didn't know how to make things better. He was suggesting the first thing that even sounded like it might help.rooker SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 46/25 Wild Encounter: 67/5 Item Posting: Light Ball 20/40 Inventory: Shell Bell - Zinnia, Potions x, Pokeballs x, Pokedex, Rare Candy x4, Sweet Bouquet, Water Gem, x3 Max potions, x1 Travel egg, x1 Freedom Flag , x4 Lum Berries, x6 Oran Berry, Berry Pot, TM 83 Infestation, TM 55 Scald, Specific Lure, Psychium Z - Ember, Vs. Kintaro Satoshi Kintaro should have felt relief. She understood that he had a reason for telling her to give Rowlet back. And she was going to give up on this childish desire to play dress-up. He should have been happy with this outcome. Deadeye's flapping wings brought Kintaro's attention back to the approaching Rowlet and his trainer soon following. Oh, look, she had upset him again. He suspected he was hit at some point, but he couldn't see the evidence through Rowlet's down. He should have paid more attention with his avian clients in the past. He could never admit to himself that they were difficult to diagnose. Instead of addressing Deadeye, the male planted himself firmly and raised his left hand with the right tucked behind his back. Jade liked to hurt people, her ball was clenched in his hand in case Llorona decided to start a fight over her Rowlet again. His body language said plenty. She was not getting him on her side twice. "Greeting." He announced in that plain, dead tone he'd used the first time. As far as he was concerned she was not someone to remember. "You seem to be having trouble. Perhaps you require professional assistance." Assistance she would have access to if she hadn't cast off his business card. His lip was curled just slightly in the most humorless smile she may have ever seen. Attica noticed the behavior and moved quickly to stand by her trainer. He scared the crap out of her but he was still her Boss! Even the angry Pawniard was nonaggressive in her stance. Kintaro had ways of dealing with people that Attica feared and admired. Being the obstacle for someone to break themselves against was one such technique. Hana was upset and stressed and scared but he still hoped she could see him trying to fix his mistake. She deserved to know he had made a mistake. He was making more mistakes as a trainer than he ever had as Ms. Ruka's best agent. There was so much more to consider than he had ever imagined. Nothing Llorona had said as he left stuck. So he wasn't armed with the useful understanding that her Pokemon were tools to her. He had ignored her from the moment he walked away. Which was a shame. There was a lot he could respect about a utility trainer. He simply had to guide Llorona into an understanding that her tools were alive and required her help to become the best at what they did. Attachment was not required, but it wasn't exactly avoidable. "Perhaps you and I should have a discussion. Before we escalate an unnecessary situation." He offered, holding the young woman's eyes with his own.
Odyss was grateful Kintaro was fixed on Llorona. He loved the hug from Hana, but he knew Kintaro didn't always approve of his Quilladin taking affection so greedily from a different trainer. Maybe if Kintaro showed a little from time to time...That wasn't fair! Kintaro wasn't an affectionate kinda guy! He glanced up at Hana's tear-stained face and his ears drooped. Kintaro would forgive him this time. Hana needed hugs. He hugged tightly to her with his big, pointy nose bending at a funny angle against her shoulder. When Zinnia mentioned getting into the accessories, Odyss started to squirm in Hana's arms. He pat her shoulder, indicating he wanted to get down, and also reclaim the bag of stuff. Hadn't he been exhausted just a second ago? The Quilladin grinned up at his friend's trainer, showing her that he wanted to do something fun. He made quick, crude gestures of the signing Kintaro was teaching to him. He gestured that she go in, then come back out. He didn't know enough to suggest she take a break or get a shower before getting back into costume, but he really really hoped she would still be a pretty knight when Odyss showed her his achievements! She was only getting told that he wanted her to go inside, then come back out. He and the others would be waiting. He glanced up to Zinnia, face twisted in a frown."You go with Ms. Lucali Mom. She needs hugs. I'll take care of everything here. You can count on me! C'mon Deadeye! Let's get you fixed up again!" He announced to his Froakie friend. Once Hana released the Grass Type he snagged the bag and laid it out open for the others to get into at their leisure. In the meantime, he was gathering allies for the "Battle" that was Hanako's miserable mood. Kintaro was about to get robbed of most of his team!
"Hey, yeah! Mary. Mary! C'mere!" Cried Odyss. The Quilladin was all for Zinnia's plan. Mary was pretty, she would be the best model! Again failing to pay attention to the situation and interfering with Kintaro's display. Mary had padded up next to Kintaro, her nerves tingling at Llorona's approach. Now she was being tugged by Odyss to come play dress up. Kintaro glanced down and Mary froze. A flick of his gaze was all the signal she got that she could go. Attica was plenty menacing on her own. He visibly winced when Odyss grabbed Jade's ball out of his hand but didn't resist the pull. He at least hadn't wanted her to see he had a Pokemon ready to fight. The Croagunk was released and promptly sat down in front of the bag with a scowl. "Stick with me, Jade! We'll get you all ready for Halloween!" Cried the Quilladin enthusiastically. Mary sat down beside Jade and her fur sparked. Croagunk and Luxio sat together uneasily while Odyss went to work picking out decorations for them to wear. Jade glanced at Mary who looked back quizzically. "It's OK. Master said we could. It's kinda nice." Mary explained, getting a scowl and a rude croaking from deep in Jade's throat. She might have been more open to the idea if it hadn't been "Master's permission" she needed. Pets.Kintaro's belt shook as Marshall was clearly aware there was something going on without him. He remained straight-faced as he maintained eye contact with Llorona. Odyss, for once, was paying attention and readied something for his Pancham friend. The ball burst open and Marshall leaped out toward the gathering of Pokemon. "ODYSS! FIGHT M--GWAH!" A boxing glove caught Marshall squarely in the face when Odyss flung it at him. The Pancham flipped backward in the air and fell flat on his back. "Grab some stuff! We're trying to make Ms. Lucali Mom smile again!" For the first time since getting him, Odyss had a menacing expression as he looked up at Marshall, causing the Pancham to flinch. "Don't you dare mess this up, Marshall." Hesitantly, Marshall settled down between Odyss and Jade and found a headband that he pulled taut beneath his ears. He pulled the boxing glove on until his little paw couldn't go any deeper...which left him with part of his bicep visible and nothing else. Maybe he shouldn't wear the boxing glove.
Odyss had a moment. That moment where everything you want to do is about to go completely sideways and the only thing you could do to prevent it is not do the insane thing you're about to do. He turned slowly to consider Deadeye, then turned back to Llorona who had Rhea down beside her. And now a Togetic chasing after her. "Hey, Deadeye. You got friends. Right?" Before Deadeye could stop him, or even answer really, Odyss dashed toward the standoff and skidded sideways beside Llorona and Rhea. He held his paws out to her. "Friends, please!" He called out to the young woman. "You should come too! I bet there's cool stuff to add to your costume! Super neat!" He added, beaming at Rhea while he was distracted from Llorona's answer. If she was rejecting him he would miss it, and still be looking up at her expectantly when he finally turned his gaze away from Rhea. How could you say "no" to such a big, dorky grin?!(I dunno. Kintaro's a professional. He's seen a lot of puppers. Real puppers. Pretty puppers. Llorona BraithwaiteLlorona's little tantrum and subsequent gathering of the dropped Pokeball had put her quite a few paces behind the other two trainers. For such a short girl that other woman walked fast when she wanted to! As such she was forced into a jog to keep up with the fleeing Rowlet only to skid to a rather awkward stop when the girl's male companion stood between her and the Rowlet. Why was everyone SO against giving her back what was clearly hers?! The woman reached up and pulled her hair back, huffing in irritation before raising a skeptical eyebrow at Kintaro. The way his hand was held out he looked like a glorified crossing guard. "Yeah, greetings and salutations - we did this already remember?" She reminded the man, scratching her head at his word choice. Her default thinking was that he was challenging her to a battle, which given her mood, she would have been eager to accept even at a terrible disadvantage. Hanako was still walking away so that was six less Pokemon to deal with right off the bat! "Wow - you really are observant! I am, in fact having a stroke of terrible luck that I think you could assist me with. If you could just be so kind as to move your ass about three steps to the left that would be a tremendous help~!" If Llorona's words had been any more sarcastic they would have left an acid dripping from her lips. She was sore, she was pissed off, and most importantly of all - she was tired of people getting in her way. The woman cast her eyes downward at the Pawniard before tracing them back up slowly along Kintaro's form. He was up to something which only further lead her to believe this was about to become a fight. She couldn't count on the Pokemon she'd left at the center as a result of sickness, nor would she use Atlas. Between those losses and the Rowlet she was beginning remind herself how terrible an idea that could possibly be, even if Pebbles had proven itself more than capable in the past. By the time her gaze reached his own staring face, Llorona found her brow furrowing even while well aware it was terrible for her skin. All of the various negative expressions she'd been forced to wear today would only cause wrinkles tomorrow! With a sigh, she rolled her eyes and softened her stance, even if only slightly, her fingers playing along with the few Pokeballs she still had like a cowboy attempting to decide whether or not to draw. "Before escalation? I won't lie when it comes to situations like these I prefer to escalate then discuss. It's kind'a my thing. But I get it, you have your little girlfriend over there to make amends with and the last thing I want to do is embarrass you in front of her. . . I'm not completely unreasonable after all." Llorona used a sing-song voice and waved her hands around a bit, pointing at the slowly retreating female behind Kintaro and offering a slightly sympathetic shrug. Listening to him rant would probably take less time than actually trying to beat his Pokemon into submission, and if it didn't, or if he said something that triggered her - that was okay too! It would make the beat down more satisfying! As an afterthought, and also possibly because Kintaro's stare was beginning to leave her with the same feeling she used to get when her father was disappointed in her, Llorona pushed herself up onto her tiptoes and began to watch the Rowlet behind them instead who had once again set itself onto Hanako's shoulder. That little punk was going to get it when she finally got him back...Somehow! Rhea scampered along behind Llorona until the girl's sudden stop, skidding a moment too late and running face first into the human's leg! She could have given a warning! After shaking off the light impact, Rhea peered around to see what the stop was about and huffed in nearly the same capacity as her pseudo-trainer did. They really liked to get in the way. "I just want my friend back!" She meowed helplessly, her tail flicking around at the Pokemon standing with Kintaro. Pawniard's were a strange species both in appearance and nature. On the plus side, she was fairly certain they were weak to fire type attacks so if it came to it. . . "I don't want to fight anyone. I am tired~" She whined, watching as one by one Kintaro's Pokemon seemed drawn to a completely different task than what the feline assumed they would be needed for. Either he was really not paying attention or he was very confident. Hopefully the former because that meant a lot less effort for the near exhausted Litten. Rhea listened to the humans converse and found herself sitting once more and licking her paw. She needed a distraction from just how negative Llorona could be. If her own trainer hadn't specifically asked her to keep Llorona company and out of trouble, she would probably have been okay with the girl getting taught a lesson. No super cute outfit was worth the level of torture Rhea had been forced to endure so far! "Nyah!" The very, very sudden addition of Odyss caused Rhea to hiss and jump a solid three feet into the air much to the delight of the Togetic that had caught up to them... She hadn't intended to sound so menacing but he had scared the life out of her! " The kitty is jumpy. Also, I haven't been here long but I get the feeling these are not your friends. Or her friends. I think I preferred William. The floating Pokemon offered, coming to a soft landing beside Rhea. He had ABSOLUTELY no idea what was going on but if his previous life had taught him anything - it was to roll with the punches and get your laughs in whenever you could. Kiseki wasn't exactly thrilled about the fact that the woman who had released him looked ready to fight, but to be fair he had no intention of helping her anyway. Not his real trainer, not his problem. "H-hey, you shouldn't scare people like that!" Rhea chose to ignore the newest addition to Llorona's 'companions' in favor of addressing the Grass-type starter, taking a few cautious steps toward it for the sake of sniffing him. Odyss had a strangely fun smell that she couldn't quite place but liked none the less. Once she had finished the instinctive gesture the Litten paused and tilted her head a bit, looking back and forth between Llorona who was seemingly ignoring the Quilladin and Odyss himself. "Come where? I don't think Llorona wants to share the stuff you guys got. . . But if we get out of this without her throwing a fit I guess I could try something on!"Deadeye was...Semi aware that Llorona was simply trying to recapture him. The ball hadn't exactly hurt but throwing things at him when he was already stressed out was completely unnecessary! He was glad that for whatever reason she had managed to choose what he assumed was simply the wrong Pokeball, squawking an apology to both Rhea and whatever poor soul had just been released as he struggled to catch up to the tree woman. She still needed cheering up, which was exactly what he intende to do! The Rowlet soared above the others while they walked, noting that some of her own Pokemon as well as ones he assumed belonged to the other human had the same idea he had. "I wanna help!" Floating down and gently landing on Hanako's free shoulder, the Rowlet wasted no time gently pressing his beak to her cheek and nuzzling her with it. The poor girl looked terrible right now. He wanted to blame himself again for bringing the girl into this but at the end the day it was Llorona's fault. Even someone as stupid as his trainer had to know by now that he wanted nothing to do with her! During his attempts to sooth the woman he became more than well aware that she was crying, something that caused the little owl to shrink down a bit and wobble closer along her shoulder. Once he was as close as he could get, Deadeye hunkered down and plumed his feathers, rustling her neck in a fashion that his species tended to do when the others were cold. . . Or sad. "Don't pay attention to Llorona! Look around you, lots of Pokemon here want to see you happy and having fun with dress up! Right Zinnia?" Although he had wanted to include all of the Pokemon joining in a combined effort to curb Hanako's mood, he truthfully had only been introduced to one of them. So he stuck with what he knew, remaining a fuzzy ball of feathers that ocassionally rocked from side to side so that his feathers could brush along the woman's neck even while his head spun around backward to acknowledge Odyss. Hanako Lucali Hanako watched Odyss with a tiny smile. She had no idea what the Quilladin had planned but she still thought he was a sweetheart. So was the adorable little Rowlet on her shoulder. She leaned her head against the owl, nuzzling him affectionately as she continued on a short distance ahead of the others and entered the Pokemon Center. While her other Pokemon remained behind with Odyss to help him with his plan to cheer their trainer up, Zinnia remained on her opposite shoulder, covering his trainer's socket with his little hand when she approached the counter. She handed over her Flabebe's Pokeball but Zinnia refused to leave her shoulder until she told him it was okay. Her hair would hide the socket until she could cover it with her bandages. Hanako sat down in the lobby while her Pokemon were treated, keeping her attention focused on the floor. She wasn't quite ready to speak yet. Eventually she would have to go outside and retrieve the rest of her Pokemon. They would be safe with Kintaro but after having her Deino stolen and the threats to steal Ember she wasn't comfortable with changing out of her costume and settling down for the night until they were with her. She needed to see for herself that they would be okay. "I'm sorry for troubling you, sweetheart." She said eventually with a small frown. Her poor mood was causing trouble for the Pokemon around her. She hadn't meant to upset them. Hanako carefully picked the Rowlet up and hugged him before kissing his cheek. "You're such a good boy." How anyone could treat such a precious Pokemon so terribly was beyond her. Llorona had no idea how lucky she was to have such a loving Pokemon on her team. While she was busy with the little Rowlet, Hanako noticed something out of the corner of her eye. She set Deadeye down on the chair beside her and stood, trying to see what exactly the strange, fluffy creature that had caught her attention was. By the time she tried to look for it the creature was already gone. She assumed she was just seeing things and she really needed to sleep. Hanako sighed and petted the Rowlet before motioning towards a nearby hall. "I need to go clean my face up. Zinnia should be out soon. Can you wait for him for me? Let him know I'll be right back." The last thing that needed was for her Froakie to believe she had gone missing while he was being taken care of.
After giving Deadeye one more kiss Hanako left the Rowlet out in the lobby and vanished into the bathroom. Her bag was still with Ember but she could at least try to make herself look less like a miserable mess. As soon as she saw her reflection in the mirror she pulled her sweater tight around herself again and frowned. "If nothing else my impression of a beached Wailmer is super convincing." She muttered to herself, looking away from her reflection in favor of looking at the floor. Instead of seeing tiles Hanako found herself staring directly at the creature she had been so convinced she was hallucinating in the lobby. She squeaked and stumbled back, falling on her rear when she lost her balance. It looked kind of like a Zorua- though she could not recall ever seeing a white Zorua with multiple tails. "Ow..." She pouted, rubbing her eye before looking at the Zorua again to confirm it was actually there. Seeing it wasn't enough though. Some strange, irrational part of her decided that she needed to pet the fluffy fox. Petting it would somehow make her feel better. It was a ridiculous thought. She didn't know this Pokemon and she was probably going to frighten it away. Knowing that the urge made no sense at all did not prevent her from reaching out to pet it. She pressed her hand against its cheek, petting it hesitantly. It was definitely real. Her irrational streak continued when she picked up the Zorua, cradling it against herself. Why she felt so emotional while clinging to the little fox was beyond her. Something about it made her heart hurt. She assumed it was all of the stress she was feeling as a result of the past few days and the Deadeye situation. This was something soft and cute and it was letting her cuddle it and vent to it. She told the little fox everything. From her thoughts on Deadeye's trainer to how sweet she thought it was that Kintaro was trying to make her feel better- Hanako babbled on for a while before realizing she was probably bothering the poor Pokemon. She let go of the Zorua after apologizing to it, hiding her face in her hands and sighing. When she looked up again she found herself alone. Hanako blinked and looked around, trying to spot the Pokemon she had just been snuggling. She couldn't blame it for running but it wasn't a big room. Surely it had to be there somewhere. But it wasn't. She frowned, standing back up and quickly cleaning up her face. She had just hallucinated an entire one-sided conversation with a four tailed Zorua for the sake of having something to vent to. While venting made her feel better, she couldn't help be a little concerned that something in her had felt it necessary to make up an imaginary friend in order to do it. That was something she would sort out in the morning. For now she was going to retrieve her Pokemon, go outside, and...hug Kintaro. He was very silly and he had messed up pretty bad but he was still her prince. She smiled softly, straightening her hair out a bit before she went to rejoin Deadeye in the lobby.
Vervain had to literally drag Sage over to the bag to get him to try on the different accessories with the others. The Pikachu wanted nothing to do with any of it. He was convinced Hanako would get over being upset on her own. They didn't need to baby her. Sage started to voice this thought only to be smacked upside the back of the head by a Drilbur that was having none of his attitude right now. "Can you not be yourself for five minutes?" Vervain glared at Sage, who glared right back at him until Ember placed a little witch hat on his head. He rolled his eyes and sat away from the group after the Gardevoir had made sure he couldn't be able to "accidentally" knock the hat off. It had convenient little spots for the Pikachu's ears already cut into it. The hat wasn't going anywhere until someone removed it for him. Ember sat down with the others, picking out different accessories to try to attach to the Beldum floating near them. Getting a costume on it was going to be tricky. Beldums didn't exactly have bodies made for costumes. "Let's see here...Maybe a mask?" That wouldn't work. Any mask he tried to put on the Beldum would cover its eye. It kinda needed that to see. He considered several accessories before tying a brightly colored mask to Echo anyway after Vervain cut out one of the eyes of the mask so the Beldum's eye could sit in its place. It seemed pleased with the mask and made several strange noises as it floated around the little ground, the long tendrils in the back of the mask swaying as it moved. "What sort of costume do you think Zinnia would like best?" Ember asked Odyss while he picked through the different decorations, trying to find something that would fit him. He eventually settled on a small pair of wings and a little tail he could attach to himself. He assumed he was meant to look like a dragon but he couldn't readily identify what he was supposed to be. Nondescript dragon was as good a costume as any. "If this doesn't cheer her up I don't know what will." Hanako was very easy to please. Seeing all her babies dressed up in cute costumes was bound to make her smile.(Echo is now floaty Majora mask. The eyes looked similar enough to me that I couldn't get the image out of my head.) rooker SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 47/25 Wild Encounter: 68/5 Item Posting: Light Ball 21/40 Inventory: Shell Bell - Zinnia, Potions x, Pokeballs x, Pokedex, Rare Candy x4, Sweet Bouquet, Water Gem, x3 Max potions, x1 Travel egg, x1 Freedom Flag , x4 Lum Berries, x6 Oran Berry, Berry Pot, TM 83 Infestation, TM 55 Scald, Specific Lure, Psychium Z - Ember, Vs. Kintaro Satoshi There was little doubt that Llorona was used to getting what she wanted. Kintaro had to admit he enjoyed a similar degree of deference. Now it was time to see who would be disappointed. Some small part of him was hoping for both, if only because Kintaro was interested in seeing if Llorona was capable of losing and winning at the same time. The male creased an eyebrow in mild judgment of her remark about his and Hana's relationship. "Ms. Lucali is not my romantic partner. I honestly find it disconcerting that your observation skills would conclude that. We are traveling companions. This is to be her first celebration of Halloween away from her family." His explanation hesitated for the briefest instant, spinning up a way to explain it was Hana's first Halloween without including that it would be her first Halloween celebrated ever. Llorona didn't seem like the kind of person to be trusted with that information. He folded his raised hand behind his back finally, maintaining eye contact as his expression flattens out now that the condescending smile was no longer necessary. "Embarrassment. Interesting choice of argument." His lip raised slightly once more. "There are few trainers more embarrassing than those who believe themselves right simply by point of possession or registered ownership." Kintaro's smile remains but his eyes appear to grow dull as if his very soul were trying to escape his body to get away from the cold. The resulting facial expression was unnerving for most. Cold, humorless smile with the dead gaze of reason with no heart. "I do believe I made myself clear. If I have to tender a formal investigation, I am going to do so. We have a Pokemon center to perform exactly the necessary procedures. What will the Nurse find, I wonder?" He turned away from Llorona to gaze back at the doors of the Pokemon Center, taking note that Hanako was gone along with Zinnia and Deadeye. When he met her eyes once more there was an air of judgment to him. Llorona wasn't a normal example of an abusive trainer, this he believed, but she did strike him as a girl who made mistakes. Like trying to antagonize the man before her and patronize him at the same time. "This is not a battle you wish to engage in. For more reasons than the ones you are concerning yourself with." He frowned thoughtfully, trying to think of ways to sound less menacing even with Odyss being an absolute goof and trying to call Llorona's attention to his desire to play with her and her Pokemon. "Perhaps, if you were agreeable, this would be best resolved with continuing that discussion at rest. You have, after all, had a long day." He needed to make concessions. Llorona was having an awful day all the same. Even if, maybe, she deserved it. He gestured to one of the benches near the bag his and Hana's Pokemon were digging through. If Llorona deemed it worthwhile to take the offer of a more peaceable conclusion, Kintaro would follow suit. He chose to sit cross-legged on the ground with the fabric of his robes splayed out around his legs as if he had experience sitting in dresses. It certainly looked silly but that didn't really change the person he was. It didn't bother him to know how to proceed in seemingly bizarre situations. He was also, without saying so, offering to hear Llorona's story. Giving her a chance to vent some of her pains. He was going to regret it, he knew that, but maybe it would help her see something she needed to.
Marshall had managed to get the other glove on with help from Mary biting and pushing on it until the Pancham was stuck with his arms in over-sized gloves. He made awkward jabbing motions and grinned to himself. "How do I look? I look awesome! Right? Right?!" He had the same childish enthusiasm as Odyss but far more boisterous. The Quilladin in question tried to follow along after Llorona, insisting she surrender her other Pokemon so he could help them dress up for the holiday! Unlike Kintaro who had directly impeded the young woman, Odyss was doing his absolute best to avoid interfering with her direction. Rhea's reply got his attention as he grinned at the Litten. "Yeah! You should! Ms. Lucali Mom got so much cool stuff! I'm a Flower Knight!" He announced proudly, declaring himself as having a matching costume to Hanako's. He leaned away from his attempts to talk Llorona out of her spare balls, giving notice to Ember when he heard something about Zinnia. "Huh? What? OH! Zin! He should look cool! And sneaky! Like a Mob Boss! or a Lawyer!" He called out to the Gardevoir. How lawyers were "cool and sneaky" one would have to delve into the mysterious mind of Odyss to discern. He struggled so hard to avoid suggesting "ninja" since that was kinda cheating! Zinnia was already sneaky like a ninja. "He could be a ninja!" Odyss declared afterward, realizing the contradiction when his helmet tilted out of place as if to remind him it was there. He was definitely a big, strong knight and he was dressing up as one. Zinnia should definitely be what he was born to do! Jade squawked her dismay when she was pinned between Marshall and Mary and forced to shoulder on a Squirtle shell pack before being promptly blindfolded by Marshall. The Pancham panicked when he realized her eyes were covered, going straight to extreme solutions and biting holes in the strip of red cloth so she could see. She threw both Pokemon off promptly after, which caused Mary to stagger and fall into the bag and come up with a cute fedora to wear along with her boa scarf. Attica was still fully prepared to protect her trainer, which only left her unprepared for the ambush of Odyss and Marshall slapping a blue sheet over the top of her head. Instead of burying Attica in some kind of "blue ghost" costume, the sheet sliced and slide neatly over her head, leaving Attica with a surprisingly nice cape for the way it was made. That didn't save Odyss and Marshall from being chased. Attica ran screaming death threats to them both while Marshall tried to trip Odyss and Odyss just picked up and threw his Pancham companion at the raging Pawniard in retaliation. When Hana came back out with Zinnia and Deadeye Odyss was running past for the safety of the Pokemon Center. "RUN! ATTICA'S GONE CRAZY!" Llorona Braithwaite "Another guy with a huge vocabulary and no balls. I'm not surprised, but I am disappointed." The woman countered instantly, adding as an afterthought - "My observation skills? Open your eyes dork, that pain in the ass with the weird hair is more pissed off at you than she is me simply because you made the mistake of initially taking my side. What does that indicate to you Mister Know-it-all?" Llorona fancied herself more intelligent than she actually was, but this didn't change the fact that from where she was standing, the girl who had retreated into the Pokemon center admired Kintaro the way that girls often admired boys they were head over heels for. She met his gaze initially, blowing a loose strand of hair from before her face. The comment regarding the holiday hadn't gone unnoticed in the least. There was a fair chance that she had broken Hanako's spirit and Llorona knew that, but considering the trouble these two were posing she couldn't be bothered to look past the mountain of aggravation she felt long enough to care. She wasn't being unreasonable, all that the girl wanted was to have her Pokemon returned to her! As the male attempted to insult her, Llorona leaned back and bit and sighed, stretching her arms high above her head and standing on the tips of her toes. This one was going to be a pain in her ass but that was to be expected. Once her stretch had concluded and either of her open palms slapped against the side of the skirt she wore, Llorona raised an eyebrow and prepared to speak - pausing not one word into her own insult while staring back at him. Did he know her Pokemon were sick? Did that even count towards a formal investigation? It wasn't her fault the region change had caused some unforeseen results! The longer she stared back into his stupid, dead expression, the more she felt inclined to believe he knew something he shouldn't have. For the very briefest of moments her expression as well as the fixed gaze she had on Kintaro faltered. There was no way that he was aware of her situation, if she had seen someone as dull looking as Kintaro inside the center when the nurse was scolding her, she would have remembered him. Or perhaps not - he wasn't exactly the type to stand out as far as she was concerned. "You don't get to pick my battles for me, asshole." She muttered under her breath. It was so far from the wittiest retort that she could have come up with, but given the circumstances, the woman wasn't about to call his bluff just in case. When he mentioned sitting and talking Llorona physically growled in a manner truly befitting the costume she wore. His request was annoying but not entirely unreasonable. Still, she hated the fact that half of her Pokemon were missing in some form or another. She was confident she could have given this one the beat down he deserved even without Atlas on her side! Llorona moved as if wearing lead weights on her ankles once Kintaro had sat down, shuffling absently past the Quilladin and just barely managing to step over Rhea. The intelligent and logical part of her brain insisted this was the best course of action but the blood-colored blush she was wearing gave the rest of her away. Her brain screamed to tell him off and be on her way! Yet against all odds the woman managed to find herself standing in front of the bench, arms crossed while she stared absently at literally anything except the ridiculously dressed man sitting before her. She was not going to sit down no matter how much her feet hurt - she had to remain defiant somehow. "Whatever discussion you feel like we should have, we can have - but you threaten to report me again and I'm gonna hurt you something fierce. I just want my Rowlet back and I shouldn't have to say please for that. So why don't you just tell me what you want?"Rhea sat, even after Llorona nearly stepped on her for about the third time that day, watching the Quilladin with more interest than she should have. This one had an awful lot of energy for no apparent reason. "I see that! you look pretty good I guess~ But Llorona dressed me up as little red riding hood! I have no idea who that actually is but Llorona insisted she was the cutest." The feline thought back to her experience being fitted at the costume shop in Lumiose, listening to Llorona and the shop keeper go back and forth, on and on and on until they both squealed at the thought of the matching costumes. Apparently, she was as well dressed for the party as she would ever be! But Odyss had one solid point- and now that Llorona and the other human seemed to have reached a talking point the litten saw no reason not to include the others for the time being. "Gimmie one second, okay?" She offered, stretching her front legs out and walking over the pouty female. Her tail flicked back and forth while she watched the Pokeballs on Llorona's belt. All she needed to do was jump and - "Got it!" Rhea sang, leaping up and batting at two of the balls containing Pebbles and Pui. Rhea knew better than to touch the fancy ball Llorona hated, and truth be told - she didn't like sunset all that much. Once the other two Pokemon were standing on either side of her, Rhea meowed at the confused pair and nodded towards the mound of costume supplies even as Llorona seemed to look down and hiss at her for whatever reason. The woman needed to relax... She seemed to intent on fighting even though they had come here for a party! "These guys don't have any clothes, maybe you could help them out?" Rhea offered, looking around for the Togetic that had been behind her only to find the floating fairy was already fluttering in place above the other Pokemon, his head and position shifting every so often to get a better view of whatever random things might help get him into the spirit. "You are all crazy." The flying type eventually managed when his attention was pulled away from the hoard of treasures below and onto the very angry Pawniard. He still had absolutely no idea what was going on but to say he completely hated the chaos would have been a lie. He was enjoying the affection, he really, really was - but all of the nuzzling and kisses in the world amounted to nothing when the human sharing them with you was as sad as Hanako. Deadeye wished more than anything in the world that he could communicate with her more clearly, to tell her that she was not troubling him and that she was a wonderful person who looked stunning in her knight outfit contrary to what Llorona may have said. Most of all, the Rowlet simply wished he could thank her for being so much better than his trainer was. When Hanako set him down and made her request it became as though Deadeye lived for nothing else, his eyes following the human until she rounded the corner before turning every ounce of attention and focus to the front desk while he waited for the Froakie. He didn't know Hanako at all but if there was even a chance that what she had asked him was of any importance, or that she might notice his efforts - Deadeye was not so much as going to breathe more than he had to in an attempt to do as he was told. "For Hanako's sake - I will keep watch." He chirped in a much more serious tone than was honestly necessary. By the time Hanako had returned to fetch him, the Rowlet's eyes were virtually living embodiments of his namesake - they were red and watery from a lack of blinking but he hadn't missed a thing! Of that he was certain. "Zinnia! ZINNIA! Your trainer is back!" He sang without removing his gaze from the counter. He wanted to look at the approaching human in the hopes that she looked anything less sad than when she had left, but she had given him a job and until she relieved him of duty he was going to perform it! Hanako Lucali Hanako couldn't help but giggle when she saw Deadeye. "You're such a good boy." She cooed as she picked up the little Rowlet and kissed his cheek. "I don't think you needed to watch that hard though. You can rest now, sweetie." She set Deadeye on her shoulder and stood by the counter, waiting for her Froakie and Flabebe to be returned to her. Now that she had cleaned herself up a bit she felt much better. She was still going to protect the little Rowlet but she wouldn't let Llorona bother her. If she wanted her Rowlet back then she would treat him correctly so he would want to return to her. Until then she was happy to be a perch for the owl. She hummed to herself, leaning her head to the side so she could nuzzle Deadeye. So long as he wanted to be with her, she was going to show him as much affection as she could. The poor thing probably wasn't shown any love while he was with Llorona. He needed to know he was a good Pokemon and he was appreciated. Hana was so busy with the Rowlet she didn't notice the nurse trying to offer her Flabebe's Pokeball until Zinnia croaked at her and hopped on to her shoulder, pressing the Pokeball against her cheek. "O-oh! I'm sorry!" She blushed and took the Pokeball from her Froakie. After making sure her hair was covering her eye she turned and smiled at the nurse, thanking her for her assistance before heading outside right in time to see Odyss running by with Attica chasing him. "O-oh! Please play nice, babies!" Hanako frowned, leaning down just in time to pick up Attica as she ran past. Grabbing an angry Pawniard was probably going to end up being one of the worst decisions she had made all day but she really didn't want Odyss to get hurt. "Easy, love." She whispered gently, adjusting Attica's cape before setting her back down. "You look amazing. That cape really suits you." She petted the Pawniard before looking up at the rest of the Pokemon. The young woman made a small squeaking sound. It was the closest thing to an excited squeal she could manage.
All of the babies were out and having fun! She wished Baloth was there to play with them. There was one other Pokemon missing out on all of the fun too! At least she could do something about this one. Hanako quickly released her Flabebe so she could join the others in playing in the costume accessories. She looked mildly annoyed, keeping her distance from the others instead of going to play with them like her trainer had hoped she would. Maybe she needed time to warm up to the other Pokemon. She shrugged, turning her attention to the other babies and their adorable costumes. "You guys are so cute~!" She "squealed" as loud as her lungs would allow, going to hug each baby and admire their costumes. Zinnia hopped off of her shoulder while she was busy with the other Pokemon, retrieving her eye patch for her. He hopped back on to her shoulder, croaking and holding it against her socket until she tied it in place. She still wasn't sure about leaving her costume on but so long as Llorona was there she couldn't leave her socket uncovered. After her eye patch was secured against not even Jade was spared from Hanako's snuggles. Each Pokemon was praised for their adorable costumes, cuddled, and kissed until her attention finally fell on Odyss. She picked up the Quilladin and kissed him, cradling him against her chest. "Thank you, my love." He had managed to convince the babies to play dress up to help cheer her up. What had she done to earn the affection of such a sweet, thoughtful little knight? She kissed him again and again. Hanako set Odyss down and pressed her finger against her lips, pointing out that he had succeeded in getting her to smile. "Looks like I'm leaving my costume on." The babies had just got all dressed up. Changing back into her normal clothes when they were all set for a fun Halloween night would be silly of her. She hugged Odyss again before motioning towards Kintaro. "I think he might need a hug too."
She carefully took Deadeye off of her shoulder, motioning for her Beldum to come down close enough for her to reach him and setting the Rowlet on his back as soon as she could. "I'll come sit with the Pokemon after I go give Taro a hug too. You can sit with me if you would like." Being a Rowlet perch was kinda nice. His feathers were really soft and he was great company. She would have remained his perch if she was sure he was comfortable with being brought so close to Llorona. For now she felt he would feel best staying with the Pokemon. She made her way over to Kintaro, knelt down in front of him, and booped him. He still needed to be punished for his behavior and booping him felt like the best way to to make sure he knew he had done something silly. She hugged him immediately after. "You're still my prince." Part of her was still upset with him and she needed to work past that before she could fully forgive him. For now she hoped that he would be able to accept that she was starting to feel a little better and was willing to talk again. She sat down near the bag and the Pokemon after hugging Kintaro, choosing to ignore Llorona entirely. Her attitude would all of Odyss and the babies' work to cheer Hanako up. rooker SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 48/25 Wild Encounter: 69/5 Item Posting: Light Ball 22/40 Inventory: Shell Bell - Zinnia, Potions x, Pokeballs x, Pokedex, Rare Candy x4, Sweet Bouquet, Water Gem, x3 Max potions, x1 Travel egg, x1 Freedom Flag , x4 Lum Berries, x6 Oran Berry, Berry Pot, TM 83 Infestation, TM 55 Scald, Specific Lure, Psychium Z - Ember, Vs.
