Kintaro Satoshi Kintaro didn't take much stock in the huffing and puffing of his big bad wolf. In his opinion she wasn't particularly intimidating. He wanted to say as much but he was sure she would only escalate further to prove how big and scary she could be. He had made his postures, and she hers, there was not much more to gain from either of them spitting insults and spite. At least she got straight to the point while she stubbornly stood where she was. "I must insist that you have a seat. I'm sure those boots are lovely, but that particular brand is known for--" He paused, stopping himself from going full nerd and trying to intimidate her with his impressive vocabulary. "--I have several coworkers who complain that this kind of boot gets in the way of normal blood flow and has a history of causing severe discomfort of other kinds." He smiled politely at her, showing he meant no ill intent in telling her as much about her footwear. "I am certainly no fashion expert, but I do believe there are two kinds of boot with a similar design that will better protect your feet and legs as well as keep you comfortable." He shrugged off his own suggestion. As if he expected her to dismiss it already. He had a feeling he was overexplaining but he didn't like to leave someone with any misgivings about his intent. "As for what I 'want' of you. You have a Litten and a Rowlet. You are not from here and that shows. I do not think you are from there either, or you wouldn't be chasing around a Pokemon you clearly hold no love for. You only want it because it in some way measures your success as a trainer. Now, perhaps it is best if you be rid of your Rowlet for something more...durable. Perhaps not." He was not going to let her dismiss this pitch, even if it was annoying and roundabout even for himself. He had to present her with her options as much as his opinion. He couldn't make her feel like she was being pushed into a corner or it would just cause her to blow up. That achieved nothing except finding out if Kintaro could drop her before he broke himself. "Your tools are poorly kept. I know only cursory information about the Pokemon you possess and I can still tell they are unwell. Your relations with your Rowlet not withstanding. You require assistance. You may even be taking a greater responsibility unto yourself than you were prepared for. It is nothing to be ashamed of. There's a special place you have to reach as a trainer. Whether a bright-eyed youth with her friends or a brash pragmatist learning to use tools that can think for themselves. A master, a true master, will have to learn to take both approaches." He looked up just in time to get a face full of flower knight. He was booped and then hugged and what the hell was going on? "Yes...? Were you expecting me to change?" Hanako used Sweet Hug! Kintaro was confused! He hurt himself in his confusion! He pat her on the head once as if she only required that one display to be happy as a Clamperl. "Affection is not always the first--or even best--course of action you or I would take, but it has its merits and requires consideration. From what I can gather that he is disdainful toward me and seeking Ms. Lucali's attention and approval most fervently--he believes you are mistreating him. Regardless of the truth." In truth, Kintaro fully believed Deadeye was in the right the more he talked to Llorona. He couldn't be saying so aloud, though, and didn't. "The most common cause I have experienced, a Pokemon feeling misused even when they are being treated well is because they require more attention from their trainer than the trainer realizes. You don't have to love and care for him like a Breeder or Coordinator might, but you're going to achieve nothing if you do not at least try to meet his needs." A slow breath and Kintaro shut his eyes. So many words, she wouldn't follow or understand or care at all about that much information. He had set out to explain his position and had fallen right into a lecture he'd had to give many new trainers at the agency. Rehabilitating Pokemon was their main service, but Kintaro had made good progress in teaching Pokemon owners how to get the best from their companions. He wished he had paid more attention to Ms. Ruka when she was playing around with her shopping habits or some others with similar ideas of a good day. He could have better related to the youth with the "big girl businesswoman" attitude. She just as likely needed slapped in the mouth and told "no" as well, but that was a frowned upon practice and Kintaro did not pick it up as a result. Now he had to sit back and let her tell her own story, or fight him on his version, anything less would belittle her to a point of unwillingness to cooperate further. His hands rested on his knees, palms up and open as if he were some froofy-looking monk preparing to mediate. Open posture save for his crossed legs and clear body language indicating he was, for better or worse, willing to hear what Llorona had to say.
"LEMME AT 'EM! LEMME AT 'EM! I'M GONNA KILL 'EM! I'M GONNA KILL 'EM AND THEN--Oh." Attica had learned to hate Hanako upset. She learned very quickly that she would get in trouble for poking the stupid flower girl's stupid pudgy face. Now she was trying to handle a seething Pawniard with no protection or clearance from Kintaro. It was a special kind of suicidal that she had to be! The Pawniard in question sighed heavily and wore a flat, pouting expression. "Well...o-one of us has to look good. I guess..." She muttered to herself even though Hana couldn't understand her in the first place. Marshall rolled onto his feet again with a shallow gash across his nose that only lent credit to his costume. He didn't even flinch when he realized he was bleeding. "Whoa! Whoops! Guess I overdid it! Hahaha!" The Pancham tried to laugh it off even though the new mark really stung! Odyss happily accepted Hana cuddles and kisses and waggled in the air under the onslaught of affection. "D'awww! It was nothin'! Oh! Zinnia! Zin! Zin! Hey!" He started flailing at the Froakie and waving his arms. "More friends!" He pointed out Pebbles and Pui who had been joined along with Rhea. at the costume bag. "Rhea! Who's your friends!" Once he was put down again he rushed over to the bag and dove into it like it was a swimming pool. Which only made it more shocking when he actually disappeared inside the bag! He popped out and showered the group with random accessories, throwing a gangster hat at Zinnia, then a ninja hood in the very next breath. For some reason a large wedge of cheese was made into a hat and now rested on top of the Quilladin's helmet while he reached out to pass items to Pui and Pebbles. He stopped at Rhea, scowling thoughtfully. There had to be something...He looked up to see Kiseki watching the madness unfold and stuck his tongue out as he squeezed one eye shut. He spun a bandana on one claw and lobbed it in a high arc, aiming to miss the Togetic on the initial toss and then have it land on his head. All he could really hope was that Kiseki followed his direction and caught it. Seeing Deadeye dressed up as a pirate made the Quilladin decide he wanted the rest of Llorona's Pokemon to look like the Rowlet's crew. They were trying to make him feel good too, right? Make him feel included, and in charge! That made Attica feel better most of the time! He popped out again with a snazzy belt hanging off of one ear, pulling it off and tossing it to Rhea. "Oh! Here! You're First Mate, right? Now where'd his stuff go...?" Odyss disappeared into the bag again, throwing out random items again for whoever wanted to wear them until Deadeye's captain hat came flying out. "Oh no! Wait! Deadeye, get it!" He had meant to grab it and toss it to the Rowlet, now it was flying through the air with no particular direction because he had misidentified the item when in the bag. He was struggling to find more pirate stuff so he hoped Pebbles and Pui were finding items they liked in the pile. "I'm Odyss!" Whether or not Deadeye got the pirate hat, Odyss was already moving on. Pui and Pebbles had yet to be officially friends! "My Boss is that guy there with the funny dress and princess crown. I think him and Ms. Lucali Mom are playing House or something. But they're doing it funny." Llorona Braithwaite "I have some things I want to insist upon myself but I'm trying really, really hard to be nice - so let us reach an impasse on this one okay?" Llorona's feet, had they the ability to talk, would have screamed at her for that level of stubbornness. She was going to feel this in the morning. If it meant one small gesture of defiance, however, she would stand for the rest of the day. Her body was young and quick to recover, not to mention that she was used to this type of pain for the most part. It was not her first-day wearing fancy footwear so the woman was more than well acquainted with the side-effects. Instead of planting her butt onto the bench net to Kintaro, Llorona spared the runaway Pawniard a humorous glance and crouched where she was in front of the male, smoothing out the edges of her skirt while he seemed to be making a sound attempt at advice. Had he not just about wrapped up his summary with "I am certainly no fashion expert", Llorona would have probably lost her marbles. Instead, she leaned forward and plucked at the soft material making up the leggings of his attire, raising a skeptical eyebrow. She wasn't about to comment on the fact that she intended to wear these boots long after the event was over, but for now, she could rationalize their use if it meant shutting him up. "...You do know you are dressed for fashion over function too, right? It's Halloween. The boots stay on because they match the outfit, you'd do well to keep that in mind for your outfit and keep your girlfriend happy." She shrugged, holding onto a loose end of his pants a moment longer when she seemed to be propositioning her? Or was it simply another insult? From where she was kneeling it was hard to tell but the woman took one look at Kintaro and decided she was going to at least pretend he was being genuine. "I hate the alola region. It's too backwater for me. Everyone is so chipper and, from what I can tell, about twenty years behind the current trends. It makes me sick. I'm only there because I need to be - family requests and all that." She shrugged, quickly adding with an almost hazardous grin. "Are you offering a trade? I'll give you the Rowlet for that little bladed devil you've got, no questions asked. It'll make your lady very happy since she seems so smitten with the thing." The thought of gaining a solid, steel type pokemon was almost enough to make Llorona reconsider her position. The Rowlet was a tough bird but given all the trouble it had put her through so far it almost seemed better for everyone if she let it go. 'Everything is give and take.' The woman thought, trying to keep her face from contorting into something horrid when he began to break down his assumption of her abilities as a trainer. 'Ignoring' Kintaro's report on her, as well as his advice, proved to be the hardest thing Llorona had endured to date on her journey. How the woman managed it given the minuscule amount of constructive criticism it took to generally set her off was anybody's guess. But by the end of his speech regarding how he thought she should approach the owl she had managed to neither hit him nor yell. He reminded her of someone else who used to talk that way, perhaps that helped. Or maybe she was really just getting that tired. Either way, Llorona wiped her nose in a very un-ladylike fashion and stood, staring down on Kintaro like the obstacle she perceived him to be. She should have simply battled him instead. "Thank you, doctor. I will really, really give everything you've said a great deal of thought while I ponder my wrongdoings as a trainer. Gonna do what I can to elevate myself and be the be trainer these precious babies deserve. Can I have my Rowlet or a Pokemon of equal or greater value back now?" It was clear she was attempting to dismiss virtually everything Kintaro had said to her - but at least the woman's tone wasn't dripping with sarcasm this time! After straightening out the revealing school girl top she wore, Llorona ran her fingers along the tie repeatedly, looking over towards the commotion of too many Pokemon, not in their balls and frowned. Pebbles and Pui were with the others now. This was a giant balloon animal away from being a parade. "Looks like your friend, Miss Lucali was it? She's coming back. As enlightening as this conversation has been I think we both know you don't like me very much for more than just the way I treat my Rowlet. The feeling is mutual in case you were wondering. So if you could just very kindly let her know that we've spoken in a civil manner and that I should have my Pokemon back - we can all go our separate ways and everyone wins. I'll even make you a Braithwaite corporate promise. If you return my Rowlet now, I'll let him roam free for the moment and see to it that he gets a nice meal and not a single dirty look more than I can possibly manage. Deal?" The woman held out her hand to Kintaro, even while her eyes betrayed the level of done she was with the day. Running around after a Pokemon she was beginning to think was more trouble than he was worth, dealing with upstart, goodie-goodie trainers, and receiving a father level lecture from a stranger had her close to a boiling point. Between all of that and the woman in the knight costume who caused Llorona to take a quick step away from her offered handshake when she decided now was the best time to hug her male companion, Llorona was literally biting her tongue. Perhaps if she could just play nice things would pan out. Insulting Hanako again from where she stood would have been easy but getting her Rowlet back was still the wolf woman's top priority so she could remain quiet a little longer. If Rowlets could scream. By the time Hanako relieved him of duty he had to shut his eyes because they stung so much! There was no regret where Deadeye was concerned. She was an amazing person and he would do it again for twice as long if it meant making her happy! To say that he wasn't relieved to be back on the woman's shoulder would have been a lie, however. She made for an excellent perch. "You are still dressed up. I'mma Pirate. You're a knight. we make a good team! I think." Compared to the others, Deadeye was far from knowledgable about human warriors and their lore. As such, the way he saw things, a Pirate was every bit as noble as a knight and they would be the best of partners. He did his best not to slid around while Hanako dealt with Attica, noting all of the sharp points on the Pawniard. That thing did not look built for cuddles at all and it made Deadeye more than a little sad. Some Pokemon were much better suited for fighting though and he had to admit, he would have been hard-pressed to find another mon more intimidating than Attica. The fluffy owl was still lost in his own thoughts regarding the steel type when Hanako removed him from her shoulder, sparing the woman a confused look as he was placed along the back of a Beldum. He wanted to question why he was being moved away so quickly... Then he noticed the Beldum was floating without wings for the first time and wobbled carefully along it's back curiously. "How do you fly?" He asked the steel type suddenly, craning his neck to get a better look at the Beldum's underbody. "I like your mask." The simple statement was intended in case the steel type thought his inquiry rude - but he had little time to actually find out the answer to his question when the grass Pokemon scampered instinctively, barely catching the offered item with his beak and coming to an awkward sort of hover over the Beldum once more. He couldn't exactly thank the strangely energetic Quilladin for the offering with his mouth full, nor could he apply the gift without hands. But he held it all the same, fluttering around as if waiting for the other Pokemon to allow him landing permission. Hanako had put him there before but now he almost felt like he needed permission to sit on the Beldum again. "I don't think this is how my outfit is supposed to work." Rhea didn't want to be the one to ruin anybody's fun, especially Deadeye. So she did her best to press her head into the ground until the headpiece was mostly on, even if completely backward. The others seemed much more enthusiastic about their gifts despite how awkward and out of place they looked. How pui managed to get on the black and white striped pirate shirt with no hands was beyond the litten, and Pebbles now had a small flag jutting out from a crack in its body - the wind gently blowing it out nicely to reveal the skull pattern drawn onto it. The feline was vaguely familiar with how pirates worked and she meowed happily over the matching uniforms in spite of Llorona's original idea for her costume. She could be a little red riding pirate, right? "I should have been a cannonball." Pebbles chimed in absently, nudging the shy water Pokemon directly behind her and jumping a bit as she felt bubbles break against her back. They were far from an attack but Pui needed to be more careful! The Roggenrola was about as fond of water as most pokemon sharing her typing. High above the fanfare, Kiseki buzzed around back and forth on its tiny wings like a goalkeeper, the tiny Pokemon revealing a tongue and a full smile soon after catching the bandana. Sure, he would have preferred a crown like the human calling itself Kintaro was wearing, but fitting in with the others was alright too. "My last trainer was basically a pirate so I am alright with this! I wanna be the captain though!" He claimed, floating down before deadeye and giving his tiny hand a wave in recognition of the other flying Pokemon. "Hi, I don't think we've been introduced but since apparently I am gonna in your crew. . . What's the cut? Hanako Lucali 
Zinnia had chosen to wear the little hat over the ninja costume. The hat looked kinda like it matched Mary's costume and he really liked the idea of matching one of the other Pokemon! He hopped over to Mary once the hat was on his head, grinning at her playfully. "Lookie! We match!" He croaked and tapped on his hat. "At least I think we do anyway. Your costume is really cute! What are we even supposed to be?" The Froakie had absolutely no idea what he was dressed up as. It probably didn't matter either way. The hat was comfortable and it fit him just fine. Ember had gone to sit on the ground next to Kintaro, setting Hanako's bag in front of himself and attempting to fold up her sweater so he could put in away. He didn't know how to fold the sweater though so after trying and failing a few times he set it in his lap and sighed. Kintaro was busy talking to the annoying stranger currently. As soon as he saw an opportunity to ask him for help he would request that he teach him how to fold the sweater. He didn't want to ask Hanako to teach him. The chances of her putting the sweater right back on were too high. She would make up some ridiculously claim like it was too much work for him to be bothered with when he was supposed to be playing with the other Pokemon. He could just as easily ball the sweater up and shove it in with the rest of her things if he was worried about that. The Gardevoir was more interested in learning a new thing than he was in socializing. Zinnia and Echo were the only two really trying to talk with the others out of all of Hana's Pokemon. Sage had plopped himself down behind her, attempting to use Hanako as a flower knight shaped shield. The others would see the cute, squishy thing in front of him and bother her before they attempted to bother him. Citrine had settled down in Hana's hair, her flower almost blending in with the headpiece she wore. The Flabebe had turned herself into part of Hana's costume since she was much too small for most of the accessories and she really didn't want to get anything thrown at her. Vervain had gone to sleep under a pile of thrown items, a little crown with a pink mushroom in the center resting on top of his head. Whether it landed there when it was thrown or he had put it on himself was a mystery.
Echo wasn't sure how to speak to the Rowlet. He didn't mind the little owl sitting on his back and he wanted to thank him for complimenting his mask but all that came out was a garbled mess of noise. The poor Beldum looked so confused, trying to reply to the Rowlet again with the exact same result. When talking failed he began to mimic the Rowlet's tone instead. He couldn't make the same noises to talk like he could but he could echo his tone back to him. "Echo. That's what I think I'll call you." Hana had stood up when she noticed Deadeye was having trouble with his hat, still holding Odyss while she took the hat from the Rowlet. She placed it on his head and kissed the owl's cheek before patting the spot on her shoulder. "Everyone's been hugged and kissed. You can sit on my shoulder again if you would like." She smiled at Deadeye before nodding to Kiseki. "You can too if you want." The Flabebe in her hair glared at the Togetic as soon as Hana mentioned another Pokemon sitting on her shoulder. The Rowlet was fine. She assumed he would be sitting on the shoulder opposite of her. The Togetic could find someone else to sit on. She had claimed this side already! "Where was I? Oh! Echo!" She smiled at her Beldum, humming softly for him. He echoed it back to her as best he could. "So cute~!" The Beldum seemed happy to be considered one of the "cute" Pokemon, making a series of strange noises in response before trying to nuzzle her. Hanako petted his back before sitting back down on the ground, placing Odyss in her lap again. "And you, cutie...Let's call you Citrine." The Flabebe didn't acknowledge the name at all out loud. It totally wasn't an adorable name and even if it was this silly blue haired bimbo didn't need to be naming her!rooker SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 49/25

Kintaro Satoshi Kintaro listened to Llorona with patient interest on her viewpoint. Of course she had to rib at his costume. "It is not my aesthetic we are satisfying." He pointed out, letting her fidget with the fabric of his robe even as she seemed to get briefly suggestive. Kintaro could only assume she was trying to make this stranger than it already was. Her declarations were straight forward and simple. She wanted her Rowlet back, but now she seemed to be under the delusion that his mention of trade was meant for the two of them. His mouth and eye twitched intermittently. She was nowhere near endearing enough to win herself Attica's ball. Even if he were considering trading for Deadeye. He smiled politely instead, shaking his head before dipping it down slightly. "You seem to misunderstand. I am no more interested in your Rowlet than I am interested in the Alola Region." He answered bluntly, looking up into the young woman's eyes. "My Pawniard is certainly not available even if I were." He added as he met her eyes. "This is a discussion you need to have with Ms. Lucali. It is her opinion you need to affect. I am simply a mediator." He shrugged as if saying "what can I do" to the young and painfully strained patient girl in front of him. He decided not to take any promise that Llorona made as a prank. She was trying her best and he had to admit she was doing much better now. "I apologize for the misconception. I have no present interest in a trade." He repeated himself just to make certain that it was understood no Pokemon of his was exchanging for ownership of her Rowlet. There really was not a lot more to add to that statement. She had made an assumption and would probably hold the disappointment against him. That was fine. "Ms. Lucali? Ms. Braithewaite has a proposition for you. Perhaps you would like to hear it." He called to the little flower knight, though he was confident he knew what her answer would be. He was sure she had a Pokemon she'd be willing to consider trading...to literally anybody else.
Mary meowed loudly when Zinnia declared their costumes to be matching. She hadn't expected anyone to match with her and the Pokemon slipped in through the rest of the group to compare herself to the Froakie. If she had been her normal colors instead of bright yellow they would have matched perfectly! She couldn't help but be a little disappointed, but her purring began all the same. "We match! That's perfect!" He was excited, so the Luxio would be excited too. She had never had matching outfits with anyone before. She sat down beside Zinnia proud of herself for having a costume buddy. Odyss flailed his arms happily at how everyone was getting along, happier still when Hana fixed his predicament by picking him up again! Knight power! "You're a gangster, Zin! Like the movies Professor Sycamore tried to keep us from watching!" Odyss shouted even though he wasn't really far enough away to warrant that volume. Having a paw in running Hanako's little Halloween show was bringing immense pride to the rotund Grass Type. "I think everyone will make a great team! Together nothing can stop us!" Odyss remarked to Deadeye, grinning widely. He had a slightly better idea on why the logic was flawed, but none of them were really knights or pirates or gangsters or...whatever Attica and Jade were supposed to be. The little ball of knives had fixed up her knew cape to sit comfortably across her tiny shoulders. There were many small cuts in the fabric now proving she had done it all on her own. If that bothered the Pawniard she didn't show it. Llorona BraithwaiteHanako was ignoring Llorona for the moment, which given the comments that had been exchanged prior to the young woman running off - was fine with the dark haired woman. If they didn't interact, she wouldn't have to insult the other female again. As Kintaro seemed to dismiss what she had assumed to be a trade, the younger Braithwaite woman scowled a bit and withdrew her offered hand slowly. "Well, at least we have common ground where Alola is concerned. Bit of a shame you don't want him though, that little owl is a monster when he wants to be." Whether Llorona was making a half-assed, last-ditch effort at a selling point for Deadeye, or legitimately paying the Pokemon a compliment was anyone's guess, but she had meant the statement all the same. Deadeye had proven itself already to be very capable in combat. At the mention of speaking to the short, cyan-haired woman again, Llorona rolled her eyes and returned to a standing position. "A Mediator huh? Well Mister Mediator, thanks for a whole lot of nothing." The disappointment she felt regarding her misconception over the trade was nothing compared to the knowledge of what was going to come next. Clearly, the conversation with the male trainer had proved fruitless and, Llorona was more than well aware of the fact that she was probably going to need to say something to Hanako - something nice in fact. With this in mind, her emerald hues left Kintaro and fell over the shorter woman who harbored her Pokemon. Deadeye still refused to look at her from his perch on Echo and, for lack of a better phrase, it was pissing her off. "Hey." Llorona offered flatly, unsure what she really wanted to say. There were few things she could really consider saying that she felt were possible without sarcasm. Certainly, she wasn't going to apologize for what was said earlier so... After drawing a deep breath and pushing her chest out a bit, Llorona began to rub the back of her neck whilst inspecting the other woman. Business was business, and like it or not she was going to have to conduct some form of negotiation. 'I could still always just fight them all.' The singular thought was entertaining but now that her earlier adrenaline had all but washed away, the woman was acutely aware of just how tired she actually was from the day's events. "Diplomacy it is." She muttered, taking an additional moment to compose herself. These things were seldom easy for most, and near impossible for Llorona. "Hi there...Lucali was it? I think we got off to like, the very worst of starts. My name is Llorona Braithwaite of Unova and that Rowlet you have on your shoulder belongs to me...Eh, or it did. Then I lost the Pokeball. I got robbed today ya' know." Llorona clearly had no idea where she intended to go with this entrance originally but she was probably already sounding too stupid to go back now. After offering a shrug, she just barely managed to force the very last of her will into a polite-ish smile, reaching out with the same hand she had offered Kintaro previously. "It's been a super long day for me and pleasantries aren't really my thing to begin with so... Yeah. I was just explaining to your boyfriend Kintaro here that I don't beat my Pokemon. Oh and that I would totally be willing to trade you for Deadeye if you really wanted it that badly. Maybe for, uh... That Pikachu?" If Llorona had seen the look of astonishment on Deadeye's face when she brought up the trade in front of him, she ignored it well, nodding towards the little electric mouse behind Hanako and shrugging once more. Truth be told, Llorona didn't really want to trade The Rowlet away - her earlier offer to Kintaro had been largely sarcastic and a result of the exhaustion she felt over the entire situation. But the way she saw things now, it could work to her advantage if he thought she would give him up so easily. Reverse psychology applied to Pokemon too, right? Deadeye watched Hanako after she'd adjusted his hat, chirping at her several times first in excitement, and then in warning. Llorona was definitely going to be mean to the girl again and Deadeye didn't want to see her sad. Yet as much as he wanted to sit on her shoulder and keep the tree woman happy, he was aware that his presence on her shoulder would probably make things worse. So he stayed with the newly named Echo instead, tilting his head while the steel type tried to communicate with him. The Rowlet was familiar with certain types of Pokemon who didn't speak the same universal language the rest of them seemed to but had never met one in person. "I gotcha' buddy." Deadeye offered simply the second time around, remaining careful in his efforts not to make the Beldum uncomfortable. Even if he couldn't talk right, Deadeye understood enough to know that Echo didn't mind his company - there wasn't so much as a tinge of irritation in his tone. From his place on the other Pokemon he observed Llorona carefully, taking care not to draw any extra attention to himself than he had to. The Togetic seemed to have noticed whatever negative vibes Citrine was putting out and had decided to instigate by floating over and landing onto Hanako's shoulder where he could pat her cheek with his tiny hands. "He's gonna get himself into trouble on his first day..." Deadeye's beak hung open Just then when he heard his trainer mention trading him away, a mere split second of actual hurt passing through him before a flood of relief followed! If they traded then he would get to stay with the tree woman forever! And Llorona would get something out of it so he was sure she could be happy too! Hanako tilted her head suddenly and frowned. "I think I recognize your name. My Papa worked with someone with the same last name." She shrugged, picking at her skirt awkwardly. "It's probably just a coincidence. My Papa's name is Kaname Suzuya. Does that sound familiar to you?" Asking couldn't hurt. Maybe she was right and this person was actually someone her grandfather knew.
When Llorona went to talk to Hanako, Ember set the sweater in Kintaro's lap and frowned. "Could you help me with this, please? I don't know how to fold it...and if I ask Mom how she's going to end up wearing it instead of putting it away." Zinnia's need to refer to Hanako as 'Mom' had gotten to Ember as well. It was a cute little name for her and it fit as far as he was concerned. He tried to keep his attention on Kintaro but he couldn't help but glance over at Hanako occasionally to make sure she was still okay. She sounded like she was trying to get herself into trouble. He really didn't want to have to battle the other trainer if they didn't have to. If the two women could attempt to be people for a few minutes he was sure they could sort things out without things getting to that point. Echo drifted mindlessly around the others, not bothered at all by the little Rowlet on his back. He didn't attempt to speak again but he did make a cheerful little sound occasionally to show he knew the Rowlet was still there. He drifted close to Hanako, allowing her to pet both the Beldum and Rowlet before going to lurk near Kintaro instead, keeping Deadeye a safe distance away from Llorona. Zinnia adjusted his hat and hopped in place a few times, making sure it would stay on when he hopped. When it stayed in place he croaked loudly in agreement with Odyss. He looked just as proud of having a costume buddy. "Does that mean Vervain is Taro's costume buddy?" He gestured towards the little crown on the sleeping Drilbur's head. Kintaro Satoshi Kintaro only smiled at Llorona and gave a slight nod of his head. "I do not expect you to understand my motivations, only to know I have achieved my goal." He answered the jab with a--mostly--courteous fashion. While the girls got this situation solved, Kintaro turned his head with a look of mild shock on his face. He hadn't noticed Ember, too busy worrying about Llorona trying to force her way through. The Psychic Type's request he solve a problem seemed demanding at first, winning a momentary scowl before reminding himself that Ember was not Llorona. In fact Ember had shown only responsibility and courtesy as far as Kintaro had seen. His lips curved in a tight, apologetic smile as he proceeded to fold up Hanako's sweater, then unfolded it, and refolded it more slowly for Ember to watch his motions. He took each sleeve and pulled them together folding the sweater in half vertically. Then he folded the body over in thirds so it had a neat square shape, finishing by folding the sleeves over the top of the square and doubling it back so the sleeves were folded in half. He let Ember examine the article, then unfolded it again--doing the process in reverse for Ember--and handed it to the Gardevoir. "How about you try it? You can see if that suits your style." He offered, smiling politely at Hana's guardian now. He had been quite rude at first. To everyone today it seemed.
Odyss had to consider Zinnia's inquiry quietly before snapping his claws, which did not produce a desirable sound, and nodding. "Of course he is! Everybody should have a costume buddy! But wait..." Odyss looked around, spying first Sage with his witch hat and then glancing at Marshall dressed as a boxer. Neither of them matched anyone else. The Quilladin and Pancham exchanged looks briefly and Marshall immediately grew defensive. "Don't you dare...!" Cautioned Marshall, ready for a fight to defend his costume! Instead of starting a fight, Odyss found fake blood capsules and grinned slyly. Witches made zombies, and Marshall wasn't very quick or smart. He wasn't very good at throwing...but he knew someone that was! "Oh no! The Froakie Mob put a hit out on Marshall!" Odyss shouted, tossing a group of blood capsules toward Zinnia. Froakies were good at throwing. Better than Quilladins anyway. He only hoped the sudden declaration would not be lost on his Starter Buddy. Odyss was the only one who'd really decided on how to do this. After Zinnia threw blood capsules, Odyss leaped from the bag with some grease paints he found near the bottom and tackled Marshall. The two fighters tumbled and wrestled with Marshall getting smacked in the face. The greasy substance matted his fur and even though he was already black and white the stuff managed to have the desired effect of a gaunt-looking Pancham and with Zinnia's help it completed a look of a fresh murder recently revived. "Now you and Sage match! You can be his zombie minion!" Cried Odyss with sheer joy at the fact he had made it so everybody had a costume partner. The Pancham glared first at Odyss, then at Sage whom he held accountable for a decision he had no part in. When Odyss had finished with the grease paints the two cans rolled away with the lids off, the black can clinking against Pebbles' feet and giving the Roggenrola a chance to make herself a cannonball if she wanted. "Someone fancies himself a genius." She didn't even bother looking at Kintaro. There was always going to be the smallest portion of her that liked people like him. Those of high intelligence who weren't afraid to let their over-inflated ego step into the limelight. She had little intention of letting the male know about this tidbit of admiration, however. Llorona adjusted her standing position slightly to take some of the weight off of her left foot - it hurt a hell of a lot more than the other did right now for whatever reason. The result made her look a bit ier than she intended while she tried her very best to take the studdering woman before her seriously. It was nearly impossible for the woman not to laugh at Hanako, not because she was trying to be overly cruel but more so due to the fact that it was almost, sort of, kind'a cute! Or, again, it would have been had the day not played out as it had. Llorona dropped her hand yet again, the lack of manners these two had seemed endless. "I was just starting to think you guys were the most contrasting couple I had ever seen, but with the way you both are - I can see some similarities now. Both of you are bleeding hearts and you both seem to love monologuing." Blinking a few times as her brain caught up with her mouth, Llorona sighed and shook her head. She was supposed to be playing 'nice' right now. "That sucks you had something stolen from you. You'd think it'd make you a little more unders- Nevermind. You are right. I never claimed to be perfect at this because, truth be told, I really don't care a whole lot for the Pokemon training gig. Not my thing. So maybe I could try being a little nicer. But that isn't going to happen overnight ya' know?" She offered a half shrug, stepping closer to Hanako in such a way that she was looking down on the much shorter woman. When sage decided to chime in, Llorona twitched a bit but otherwise kept her nerve, the woman's lips curing into a devilish smile at the declined offer. "Trainers trade all the time. It isn't that silly a concept to me." For a moment when Hanako started to speak again, Llorona's emerald hues slipped over her form curiously, noting the very sudden flip in demeanor. The stutter was gone and she seemed a lot more confident than she had a second ago for no apparent reason other than that the short girl really believed everything she was saying. This one was a strange breed. When Hanako finished, Llorona didn't retort, not immediately anyway. Instead, she looked over at the Rowlet who was finally peering back at her. The girl snorted and the owl squawked right back at her. She was fairly certain that the bit about the Pokemon no longer belonging to her as a result of the lost ball being a complete bluff since Pokeball maintenance and replacements occurred all the time in Unova - but decided it was probably best not to comment just in case. Kalos was a different place with different policies. For the longest time, the black and blue haired woman started to look around at each of the gathered Pokemon belonging to the other trainers. They looked chaotic, but not at all unhappy about their situation. In fact, the only unhappy ones here were Deadeye and herself. She couldn't be bothered to try and appreciate the fact that the short Wailmer and her male keeper might have had some valid points - but she didn't have time to argue anyway, not when Hanako brought up something much more important to her. "Kaname Suzuya? ... Like, the benefactor Kaname Suzuya?" The very fleeting feeling of joy regarding the mention of someone within their family's business allowed Llorona to smile genuinely before she could stop herself. Immediately following that smile, the woman realized what it was that the girl in front of her could probably do with it and forced her expression into feigned, dull, interest. "I-I've heard of him." She spoke simply, implying that it wasn't a huge deal for her to be arguing over a Pokemon with the granddaughter of one of her now-dead father's favorite investors. "M-y dad worked with a whole lot of people though, could have been him. M-maybe not." Llorona found herself screaming internally. Her own voice was now beginning to bother her - she sounded like Hanako and it was irritating. The more she thought about it, the more the woman realized that the Rowlet probably wasn't the WORST loss she could suffer today in comparison to having some brat whine to her granddad about the daughter of one of his investments picking on her. She considered turning and walking away at that point, but doing so would only really show the anxiety she possessed over a situation quickly swinging favor away from her. So instead Llorona did absolutely nothing! She didn't run, she didn't make a childish gesture, and most importantly of all - she kept her mouth shut! If the Togetic was bothered by the Flabebe lashing out at it, he did a fantastic job of keeping it to himself, even going so far as to laugh at the near microscopic Pokemon before bouncing around happily on Hanako's shoulder. That one had an attitude which was fine by him. His old trainer William had been sassy like that and clearly, his new trainer wasn't much different either. So he had experience dealing with short fuses! "Try not to hurt yourself coming after me, okay little guy?" He teased, observing the Pikachu at Hanako's feet. "I-I have no idea what is going on here but we are dressed for a party right?" Pui asked the very confident boulder next to her, trying her best not to blow any other nervous bubbles at the Roggenrola. She wasn't comfortable with Rhea, Deadeye was...part of something? And the others were all strangers! That made the Rock type her only friend in the world - if you could even call the moody pebbles a friend. So she remained close to him, even when the can of grease startled the little water type into jumping. "H-hey, was that on purpose?" Pui asked before her nerves could stop her. It looked as though they were simply discarded but given the Roggenrola's previous request it was also just as likely to her that they had been a gift to help grant Pebble's wish! "S-should I put some of this on y-" "Go for it. I can't put it on myself." The Roggenrola had not bothered to move since having the flag put into her back. All of this commotion felt pretty pointless to her. The humans were bickering and all of the other Pokemon were way too excited over what was essentially dress up. The one thing that did interest her was the Drilbur. She admired its ability to ignore everyone and everything else in favor of resting. Ground and Rock-type Pokemon shared many similarities and so Pebbles felt no shame when she decided to waddle her way over near the Drilbur and settle down, watching it intently as Pui slapped one of the cans of grease with her tail along behind her, eventually using that same tail to begin slathering the material over her body. The grease actually felt pretty nice on her stone form and gave the Rock Pokemon a reason to do nothing else but sit and stare at the sleeping prince. If looks could kill the Togetic would be dead, brought back, and then killed again out of spite. The moment he began bouncing Citrine smacked him with one of her vines, glaring daggers at him as she tried to settle down in a comfortable spot on her flower. "This is my blue haired bimbo. Find your own!" She did not want to share her side of the bimbo with such an obnoxious Pokemon. Small as she was, she was sure her vines could still do some damage if she tried hard enough. Vervain could have slept through most of the commotion. He only opened his eyes when he realized he had been joined by two other Pokemon- both of which he assumed belonged to the angry wolf girl. The Drilbur raised a clawed hand and waved at them with a lazy smile on his face. "Good morning." It was nowhere near morning but Vervain didn't care to correct himself. It was morning somewhere. He yawned, letting his arm drop back down at closing his eyes again. So long as the trainers and other Pokemon remained out of trouble he would be able to fall back asleep in no time. "Don't blame me for their stupidity." Sage snapped when Marshall glared at him. If he weren't so worried that Hana might get it in her head that trading him away to this other woman was a good idea he might have been able to respond to the Pancham properly. "Sage is moodier than usual." Zinnia decided avoiding the Pikachu was probably for the best for now. He was bound to kill everyone else's mood with how terrible his own was. To be completely fair to the Pikachu, he would be in an awful mood if there was a chance he might be traded. "How bad of an idea do you think throwing fake blood capsules at one of Mom's strongest Pokemon would be?" Marshall was covered in blood. In Zinnia's mind that meant Sage needed to be too. That way they could match even more!
Ember didn't mind Kintaro's mood. He had just been forced to deal with a less than pleasant person and now he was being asked to help with something silly. As far as the Gardevoir was concerned his reaction was understandable. He watched closely as Kintaro showed him how to fold the sweater, taking care to try to memorize each step. Folding a sweater was such a small thing but it was something Ember had decided could be beneficial. Hanako was a zombie in the morning. Knowing how to fold up anything she went to bed in and store it for her could be useful. He could also help her with her laundry. The Gardevoir held the sweater in his lap for a moment, appearing to be studying it before going through each of the steps Kintaro had showed him. He had been nice enough to try and teach him so Ember wanted to get it right on the first try. He smiled when he managed to fold the sweater, resisting the urge to repeat the process a few more times just to be sure it stuck and storing it away in Hanako's bag. There was a Flower Knight that needed to be watched. She had already proven herself more than capable of getting herself in trouble in record time if they took their eyes off of her for longer than a few minutes. "Thank you, Kintaro." Ember stood, reaching a hand out and awkwardly patting Kintaro's head once. Hanako rewarded good things with affection. He wanted to try it too. "...Nope. I don't get it at all." Kintaro Satoshi He wanted to reprimand Llorona for taking his choices as something to thank "for nothing" but he decided it was best to let her move along. Hana had what she wanted and the two women needed to resolve their issues in some fashion or other. He hoped that would work out now that he'd taken some of that hot air out of her sails. He was starting to worry he'd need to take care of things himself, though. Llorona had made a...commendable approach attempting to endear herself to Hana. Hana didn't seem interested in accepting an attempt to make things better. He couldn't decide if he was pleased with this or frustrated. He would like the Rowlet to go away by now and Hanako was determined to punish Llorona for her behavior. He couldn't bring himself to hold it against the young lady. It didn't help that Llorona was determined to keep referring to them as a couple. That didn't make the slightest bit of sense. Maybe he would address the issue later. It all depended on how long Llorona would be with the pair. He opened his mouth to answer Ember when the Gardevoir pat him on the head. He only stared at the creature curiously and tilted his head. "I will not ask, and you will not need to tell me." He stated finally, deciding Ember's behavior was experimental.
Odyss should have been the mature one here. He had gone through all the trouble to make sure Hanako would have a good Halloween. And Sage didn't need bloody spots, he was the Witch! That was silly! Still...they needed to match. "Yeah!" What could possibly go wrong? Sage was right there, listening to them, and could strike preemptively if he wanted. Odyss was resistant to the Pikachu's power and Zinnia could--hopefully--leap away before getting shocked. They could totally handle this! Mary was already on the prowl hearing the boys plot their wickedness against Sage. She happened to think Hana's Pikachu was perfectly fine as he was. And cute! But maybe Zinnia was right and Marshall needed his costume buddy to match him better. Llorona Braithwaite"Yes." Llorona replied automatically to the girl who now, for some reason, looked much, much larger than she had before. Sure there were about a million good things she could have said instead of a flattened, one-word reply. She could have pointed out how much it seemed to bother both of them, how naive and adorable it was... But truthfully, Llorona was afraid to say anything insulting just yet. As the topic returned to her Rowlet and the situation at hand, the dark-haired woman couldn't help the scowl that formed onto her lips. Not everyone became a trainer to see the world and make friends with Pokemon, surely they knew that? Judging from the way Hanako was currently looking at her - Llorona realized it was entirely possible that she truly wasn't aware that alternative reasonings for becoming a trainer existed. "Because. I can't go back to my life until I finish the task at hand. Some of us have responsibilities you know!" Truth be told, Llorona hadn't meant to snap as loudly as she had. Potential business troubles Hanako could cause aside, the tone Llorona had used came largely due to sheer frustration. Raising a closed fist to her lips, the woman cleared her throat politely before she allowed herself to continue. "Deadeye is my strongest Pokemon. Plain and simple. If I want to win, I need my strongest Pokemon by my side - Doesn't that make any sense to you at all?" She asked, becoming suddenly very interested in averting eye contact with the Hanako and her obnoxiously colored hair. Llorona didn't want to be a trainer. She simply had to fill a role for the time being. It was evident Hanako's situation was very different from her own, however, so Llorona took to looking over the Pokemon present once more, smoothing the school girl top she wore while allowing the girl to continue speaking with not so much as a sigh. Of course, it was hard not to stare at the irritating female before her with how animated she was in explaining just who her grandfather was. Llorona didn't need the majority of the explanation - Even if she hadn't seen the man since her father had died, the woman in the wolf costume was more than aware of who 'Luci' was. The thing always came to visit when Mr.Suzuya did and it was about as intimidating as Pokemon came where Llorona was concerned. The thing was a devil and despite it never being aggressive to her, Llorona had always suspected it wasn't the nicest dog in the world merely based on how it looked at her whenever she was in the room with her father. By the time Hanako had reached the end of her rant, Llorona admittedly had never felt smaller. As if the other female had suddenly become a giant that would step on her if she wasn't careful. This was unacceptable. Llorona raised a hand in an attempt to silence Hanako, her eye twitching as her frustration continued to grow. She wanted to tell the other girl to shut the hell up, her voice was now more annoying than ever - not to mention her exasperated explanation of the Houndoom and her grandfather almost felt as if she were goading. Yet no words came to her off hand. If her mother found out she was harassing major benefactors to the company, and personal friends of her deceased father at that, she would never be allowed to come home. Before it could be helped, a half groan escaped the woman, the hand she had held out to Hanako dropping down and slapping the side of her skirt. "That's enough. I know who you are talking about... I am more than familiar with the Suzuya family. Your grandfather used to be a very good friend of my father." She admitted, pondering over the many visits, the requests for more whiskey, and the smell of cigars coming from her father's study whenever Mr.Suzuya came into town. Even being very young, in her brother's absence, Llorona had been allowed to observe the majority of meet and greets with people like him - mostly, she assumed, so that the girl could get a feel for how to treat those whose money was the lifeblood flowing through a major artery of their family legacy. The more she thought about it, the more helpless she felt, going over memory after memory for no apparent reason until Llorona realized she was staring directly at her own feet. How could it be that she was standing face to face with someone Like Hanako and had never met her before? They looked about the same age so why was it that this girl had never come with her grandfather to Unova? That bothered her more than anything. Mr.Suzuya talked about his family often when he came into town so... "Your 'Papa'. Mister Suzuya. He's your granddad?" She asked suddenly in a very curious tone, her eyes, while still cast downward, shifting in thought as Hanako's name played out over her lips silently. There was something here she was missing and Llorona couldn't let it go - not when she had been forced into such an annoyingly submissive state in record time. It was unbefitting of a Braithwaite and she couldn't stand it! "Bimbo? Bim-bo? That isn't a nice thing to call your trainer I don't think." The fairy frowned a bit the second time he was lashed out at, sticking his tiny tongue out at Citrine. This little flower was a sour puss for sure. Again though, Kiseki didn't let the angry plant bother him too much, not that he really had much time to react in general whilst trying to keep himself balanced on a very excited human. The more Hanako bounced around and flailed her arms, the more the Togetic held on for dear life- giggling all the while. This one was a lot of fun. By the time Pui's tail had stopped slapping against her, Pebbles was now an entirely different color - aside from the brown chunk of rock jutting from her head that the poliwag seemed to be trying to cover with something red. "What exactly are you doing?" The rock type asked absently, shaking her body back and forth in reply to the now semi-conscious Drilbur. "Cannonballs have fuses I think. You know you light them and they burn before they go boom...R-right?" Pui replied sheepishly, dragging a red ribbon from the remaining costume supplied and walking small circles around Pebbles until it was wound nicely above her head. Her friend was now a primitive weapon of destruction! "Neat." Pebbles wasn't honestly all that impressed by the poliwag's efforts but the water type had done its best to help with her costume idea so some sort of reply felt necessary. Now that it was complete, however, Pebbles was more amused by the ground Pokemon than ever, waddling closer and setting herself down a few inches from Vervain. She was drawn to the mole and could not, for the life of her, understand why. "My trainer calls me Pebbles. What is your name?""I have no idea what is going on right now but it is scary." Deadeye offered in as close to a whisper as a bird could get, shuffling uncomfortably on Echo's back. His trainer had just gone from...Well, herself - to humble in a nearly instantaneous transition. It was actually frightening! Part of him wanted to believe Llorona was merely tired, or that she had some kind of reason for pretending to be the way she was now. But her expression seemed too genuine for the latter and tired didn't seem like the kind of thing to stop her from yelling. So the Rowlet found himself at a complete loss, hunkering down against his new friend and observing the rapidly shifting tides of the conversation. "S-sorry. I-I babble when I'm excited." Hana frowned and picked at her costume sheepishly. She could have tried to keep her rambling under control. Talking about Luci was so much fun though and Llorona was a person who knew her Papa and her precious puppy friend! At the mention of her grandad the young woman perked right back up, her cheerful expression returning in an instant. She avoided bouncing this time for the sake of the Pokemon sitting on her. Poor Citrine looked almost dizzy and she was holding on to Hana's hair as tightly as she could. "Mhm~! He's my Papa~!" She continued to pick at her top for a little bit longer before going to sit next to Kintaro. She didn't want her friend to think she had forgotten him in her excitement. Hana took Taro's hand in her own, squeezing it gently. Continuing the conversation from her spot beside her prince seemed more comfortable. Hanako was completely unaware of what the shift in Llorona's tone was. She assumed she was behaving better because they had something in common they could talk about. "Meeting someone my Papa knows is kinda fun. Oh! I'll have to tell him all about this!" Of course she would leave out all of the less appealing details. She didn't want her grandpa to worry about her. Telling him she had run into someone from a family he worked with couldn't hurt anything though! Hanako let go of Kintaro's hand long enough to tug at his costume gently and smile. "What do you think we should do now?" The conversation was mostly over as far as Hanako was concerned. Deadeye would return to Llorona when he was ready and the only other thing they could really talk about was the fact that Llorona knew her grandfather. She was sure Llorona would get bored of that real quick! That was fine though. They had a whole night of Halloween fun ahead of them! They couldn't spend their entire night sitting outside of he Pokemon Center.
"Not nice doesn't make it any less accurate." Citrine groaned, gripping on to a strand of blue hair. Maybe next time her trainer decided bouncing around like a child was necessary she could pull on her hair to get her to stop. There was no need for that sort of behavior. Sage had followed right behind Hanako when she went to sit with Kintaro. He had overheard the others plans and really wanted to shock each of them...but he knew it would be pointless. His attacks wouldn't do much of anything against Odyss and Mary and it was three against one. He wouldn't be able to beat them if he played fairly...so he decided to cheat instead. Once Hana had made herself comfortable he hopped up into her lap, arranging himself so he was pressed right up against her costume. If they insisted upon trying to make him match Marshall then they were going to ruin her costume in the process. "Hi baby~" Hana looked overjoyed that her Pikachu was willingly snuggling with her. She didn't hesitate to pick him up and hug him close to herself. Sage was fine with this. He didn't care for the hug but being held made it even harder for them to hit him. "That's not fair at all." Zinnia pouted when Sage decided to use their trainer as a shield. They couldn't mess up her costume! Mom would be sad! He shrugged helplessly. They would have to watch for an opening to throw the capsules at the Pikachu whenever he decided to climb out of Hanako's lap.
"Mom calls me Vervain." The Drilbur didn't open his eyes again but he was still paying attention to the two Pokemon near him. They seemed friendly enough and significantly calmer than some of the others running around. He was enjoying their company. "I'm guessing you're from Alola too? What's it like out that way? I imagine its nice." A peaceful spot on a sandy beach where he could nap under the sun sounded perfect to him. Actually living in the region had to be amazing. Someday he would need to convince Hanako to visit Alola. He yawned lazily, opening one eye finally so he could see Pebbles. Llorona Braithwaite"Does it really matter why?" The retort was simple but provided as much a response as Llorona was really willing to give concerning the topic. If they wanted to continue taking offense to her description regarding their relationship - that would continue to be a personal problem. Besides, she could see how smitten the girl was with this particular know it all, whether she herself recognized it or not... Her behavior was not befitting of a friend and anyone with half a brain could see it. The woman's face was still contorted with thought over the task at hand, recalling snippets of her youth spent in the common room and trying to piece together something that was just out of reach for her. As such, she nearly missed the small girl continuing to scold her over the Rowlet she was now apparently not so concerned with. In comparison to keeping her family name intact, saving an owl was of little importance. "Yeah, I get it. You're still hammering the same points home that I'm not really caring to hear. Is there by chance an off switch for the rants? Because I'm not about to take pointers on responsibility from a-" Physically biting down on her tongue, Llorona seemed to experience a moment of pain, though the majority of it was moreover her wounded ego than the swelling in her mouth. Insults came naturally to her- not being able to fling them around freely was more painful than any tangible injury she had ever experienced in life. She pressed her fingertips against her chin, rolling her tongue around a bit to ensure it was not bleeding as Hanako apologized. The only thing rivaling Hanako's annoyingly stubborn position on returning her Rowlet was how disgustingly modest she was. In her own weird way, she was actually like Llorona... Well, if you substituted rage and cool indifference with overwhelming levels of nervousness and sudden sporadic bouts of courage. "Your Papa." Llorona ran her fingers through her hair several times in thought, watching Hanako take her place next to Kintaro with disinterest. The smallest part of her wanted to believe Hanako was being genuine in her 'excitement'. That part wanted to believe that the girl in front of her would simply tell her grandfather that she had met a friend. But that part was outnumbered by the vast majority of her thoughts - thoughts that caused the woman to smirk when she finally remembered what it was that she had been struggling to for the past several minutes. With as much as her foot hurt, the girl feigned an adjustment to her outfit, taking to one knee so as to remove the pressure from her quickly swelling ankle, and taking to toying with her shoe curiously. "You are going to tell your grandfather about me? That isn't really fair Hanabi." Her emphasis on the last bit found itself punctuated by the loop she tied with her shoelaces, smoothing them out and looking up between Hanako and her male companion curiously. She could recall a time when her father made her leave the common room - once both men had been drinking for quite some time and Mr. Suzuya looked rather distraught. Llorona would never disobey her father so she had done as asked, but being nosey was something she could never pass up and so she had sat outside the door and listened. The tragic story he told had frightened her then - and while she was aware of the possibility that Mr. Suzuya could have been referring to anyone in his family, Llorona was becoming more and more convinced that the girl he was describing was the same one sitting in front of him. She fit the description, her lack of a shared last name made a whole lot of sense now - and most importantly, Llorona needed her to be. When next the black and blue haired woman spoke, she stared directly into Hanako's face, looking for any trace of truth in what she was about to say. "I think I do remember your Papa talking about you. He spoke so highly of the sick orphan he had picked up. You were the sick one, yes? It must have been really hard growing up so frail... Especially with parents so readily capable of discarding you. Then again, there are worse things than being abandoned, right Hanabi?"
"Vervain? That is a very thoughtful name. My trainer did not take as much consideration with any of us I do not believe." Pebbles continued to stare shamelessly at the mole, wanting to understand her fascination with it. As far as she was concerned, the staring was entirely necessary and that bothered the rock type even more. He was fun to look at! When Vervain brought up her home region, Pebbles shook a bit in excitement and nodded. "Yes. It is always warm and sunny. Fantastic weather for finding a nice palm tree, planting yourself under it, and sleeping while the sun warms your body." Being reminded of life before Llorona made Pebbles smile, or it would have had the rock type Pokemon had a mouth with which to do so. The sun in alola always warmed her stone skin and made it felt fantastic. As the drilbur opened one eye to look at her, the roggenrola went entirely rigid, staring back at him but becoming entirely too afraid to move even while she managed one additional sentence. "I-I..." She looked at Kintaro helplessly, though she struggled to actually see him through the tears blurring her vision. She seemed to be attempting to beg him not to hate her through her expression alone. "I-I'm sorry." Apologizing was entirely necessary. She was a disgusting, ugly little flower and he had been kind enough to keep her company. Now she had the nerve to hope he wouldn't hate her. She was terrible. A small shock from Sage reminded Hanako where she was and caused her to notice just how hard she had taken to clinging to the poor Pikachu. She couldn't manage a second apology. She did, however, hug Sage close to herself, stand up, and run off in the first direction she saw away from them. The more distance she put between herself and the other two the better. Her attention fell on the castle in the distance. It was impossible to miss. In the moment it felt like the ideal place to find somewhere she could hide. She didn't know the town and had nowhere else to go. Hanako just wanted to hide herself for a while and forget anything else existed. Maybe if she forgot she had such a precious friend that knew how horrible she was now she would be able to continue on her trip through Kalos by herself. There was no way Kintaro would want to be anywhere near her again.
"Pebbles is a good name. It's simple and cute. Easy to remember too." Vervain smiled a bit when she complimented his name. Hanako had been very kind about naming her Pokemon. She was a sweet trainer. They were very lucky to be her Pokemon. His smile only grew when she began to describe Alola. To him it sounded like a magical place. Perfect for rest and relaxation- which they were going to need soon judging by the way his trainer was acting now. Something was wrong. He started to sit up, looking over the Roggenrola's costume carefully. "You look lovely." She really helped bring together the cute little pirate theme Llorona's team had going on. Her costume fit her very well. Vervain opened his mouth to say more when Hanako suddenly took off. He was not going to be able to catch up with her and he knew it. Ember and Zinnia had already gone after her. Poor Echo was left making confused noises at anyone willing to listen to a distressed Beldum. "Follow the Gardevoir!" Vervain called up to him, watching as the Beldum went after the others- taking the Rowlet with him. "What just happened?" Kintaro Satoshi This should not have been allowed to escalate as far as it had. But he did not expect Llorona to snap back from her own smallness so immediately. That was stupidly hopeful of him. Kintaro had let Hanako sit beside him and was contemplating her question when Llorona came back with some comments that he could only assume were meant to hurt Hanako. He tilted his head as if trying to process some of the things implicated by the young woman. There were puzzles in her words, it made him fail to take note of Hanako's reaction until she was tearfully apologizing before fleeing the town square. He must have mentally exhausted himself at some point, it didn't feel very pressing to go after the girl in spite of the obviously distressed place she was in now. The man pursed his lips as if considering something before he slowly got to his feet. He brushed his robe off and pat himself down before finally acknowledging Llorona again. "If this is what you do for your investors, I am eager to see the rest of your business model." It was clear, plain, free of interpretive ideas. It was almost like someone had the foresight to force Llorona to go bond with some Pokemon so she didn't do exactly this trying to run her father's business. He knelt down beside Vervain and reached to lift up the Drillbur, assuming he did not attempt to chase Hanako on his own. In either case, the man bowed his head to Pebbles and Pui with a slight smile and an acknowledgement of "Ladies" as if he were addressing human girls with the same cordiality. "I do not think you are recovering your Rowlet today. Do you think she went to the Palace?" At first it might sound like he was speaking to the person he'd just told to shove off, except he was looking at Hana's Drillbur while speaking. "Attica, Odyss, Mary, Marshall, Jade. We have a young woman to recover. Please keep an eye out." Attica had to force herself not to make a disgusted sound, and Jade looked fit to punch him in the shin, but the others were eager to get going. That is, until Odyss seemed to recognize a simple issue that required addressing. He jogged right up to Llorona, waited for her to acknowledge him, then promptly kicked the she-wolf square in her right shin, made several rude gestures, and ran off to follow Kintaro. He'd put a lot of work into making everybody look good for Hana! This self-important brat had to go and screw it all up! Twice! The nerve of her! "Odyss! That was not acceptable behavior." The Quilladin opened his mouth to argue but Kintaro held up a hand. "You have Attacks for that. You should be practicing them for the next Gym." Attica's blades screeched on her arms and Odyss' jaw dropped. Neither were successfully processing that Kintaro had just told his Quilladin that he should have attacked Llorona instead of simply kicking her. The black-haired man walked away with a patient gait. Hana had some issues to go over before he got there. It was better if he didn't rush that he decided. Llorona could give chase if she really wanted but she wasn't going to receive a kind reply if she pursued this trainer. Llorona BraithwaiteThe results of her inquiry into Hanako's past were even more potent than she'd imagined them to be - especially given how much Llorona actually knew. Listening from a hallway to a conversation you heard as a child was bound to have a diminishing effect, but in this particular case, it looked as though she had just about outdone herself! As Hanako began to return to studdering, Llorona felt a rush of something close to relief. Confidence flooded her almost immediately as the smaller woman turned and took off, leaving her with her dull male companion for the moment. "Nailed it." She remarked, picking herself up from the kneeling position and wincing. That foot was not at all happy with the life choices she'd made. "Right? Sometimes business ventures can get messy. I can see why she doesn't partake in her grandfather's affairs." Llorona was more than well aware of the level of sarcasm Kintaro was fusing into his words but couldn't much be bothered to care. Hanako had backed her into a corner even if the chubby girl hadn't realized it. That was not a place Llorona was comfortable with so she had done something about it! "I didn't expect her to be running away so fast. . . You'd think with all this exercise she is getting your girlfriend would-" Frowning at the mention of her Rowlet, the girl was reminded of why she was here in the first place, her shoulders slumping while she groaned into the air miserably. Of course, he had gone with her. At least Kiseki seemed to have realized who his new trainer was, the fairy fluttering around behind Llorona even while he waved at the quickly vanishing woman whose shoulder had made for such a nice perch! "I'm so tired of chasing you people around." The comment was absent and followed by exactly one step towards Kintaro before Odyss stepped in and repaid her in kind for thoroughly ruining Hanako's very sensitive mood for the second time that day. Why add insult to injury when you could add injury to injury? The woman managed to avoid verbally making a sound even while she quite comically wrapped her hands around said shin and hobbled around. Whether Odyss was perceptive or lucky - he had managed to add what was surely going to be a bruise to her already agitated right side. First a swollen ankle, then a bruised shin. She was going to be next to useless if this party included a dance. "Very classy." Her retort to Kintaro hadn't been quite what she was looking for in an insult, but attending her to the leg was far more important than trying to tackle a Quilladin. Besides, at least one of her Pokemon seemed concerned enough to come to her aid - Pui spewing bubbles as the little water type hustled over between herself and the Quilladin in case Odyss decided to go for the other leg. "Little bastard kicks hard for having such short legs." By the time her fit had ended and Llorona spewed several choice words for the Quilladin under her breath. Kintaro and the others had already started off after Hanako and left her alone, the girl risking a slow, careful step with her right foot onto the pavement. It wasn't anything too serious but that didn't make her any less sour about it. What was the point in scaring off the competition if they still made off with your product? Llorona squinted at the male trainer's slowly vanishing form and groaned yet again. Following them around was becoming more trouble than Deadeye was really worth - but at this point, if she didn't, all the stress, pain, and time she'd put into his recovery would be for nothing! "What a pain in the ass." rhea mewled up at her curiously in response to the singular comment while Kiseki decided that her shoulder was better than none at all. After returning both a squeaking Pui and angry pebbles to their Pokeballs so that they wouldn't slow her down any more than she already was - Llorona began to follow Kintaro, carefully putting some distance between them. He might not know where Hanako was going himself but they were bound to cross paths again eventually. And if they didn't? Well, then she would have a chance to pay his Quilladin back for its rudeness. "Cute? Do you really think so?" Pebbles herself had given about as much thought to her name as Llorona probably had, not caring for it one way or another until this exact moment. She wasn't overly affectionate to begin with but hearing the Drilbur compliment her as he had brought a strange shudder to the moving boulder. "T-thank you. Wait, are you leaving so soon?" She asked, noting Kintaro had come to retrieve the ground type. The Roggenrola took an extra moment before realizing that Vervain was attempting to look past her, hunkering down so as not to obscure his view of Llorona being kicked by a Quilladin. She was far too busy staring at her new friend to have noticed the 'violent' action but Pui had not. "H-hey! Don't hit her!" Stumbling over impossibly tiny feet, the awkward Poliwag's tail slapped against the ground, leaving bits of paint from earlier work in her wake as she stood to oppose Odyss and gave the ground behind her an additional, intentional warning slap. "Y-you shouldn't hit humans l-like that! It's mean!" She was in no way ready to fight anyone, let alone an intimidating creature like Odyss, but someone had to stick up for her trainer no matter what they were arguing about. When it seemed as though the lashing out was a one-time ordeal, Pui looked up at Llorona, her eyes following the girl's bouncing form for several moments until whatever immediate pain subsided and she seemed to recover. Llorona was not the nicest person but that kick looked like it had probably hurt. Before Pui could nuzzle up against a very irritated looking Llorona to calm her down, however, the little water type noticed the ball in hand and attempted to move out of the way to avoid being returned, vanishing into the capsule as a result of her lack of speed. He stood panting and catching his breath in Camphrier Town's border. He didn't remember much about passing through this town the first time, he hadn't actually stayed here long. He'd been all about beating Gym Leader's at the time and there hadn't been one here to keep him interested. Now he took the time to rest and have lunch at a Diner. He ordered fancy Cheesecake-Style Pancakes that hit the spot like nothing else could have just then. There was even a pancake left over, which he stuffed in a to-go box. Thankfully it hadn't been covered in syrup so it would still be good later.
Taking a look around at the fresh air of the local park, he let out all of his Pokemon to get some exercise (except for Lady). He took a much needed nap on a park bench, aided in part by the full belly. When he woke up about an hour later, the Pokemon were all ready to go and so was he. He returned most of them, leaving Metagross out. The idea was that the sheer size and intimidation factor of his massive metal machine would deter anyone from bothering him as they traveled.

Thomas would have liked to find one himself and restore it, living out of it as though he were royalty. That seemed the sort of thing that would strike him as fun, and would cater to his narcissism. He didn't have the time to look into that now, however. He had to find the right Castle. He left the Shabboneau Castle and finally decided that he would have to ask a local for directions. "Oh, of course! You're going to go down this road here and take it all the way into the countryside. When the path splits, you'll go right and the castle will be there up a long drive! Watch out for bugs though..." He added as an afterthought.

Eventually he found the point where he was supposed to turn, and head up the drive to the castle but now there was strange whispering all around him. The bushes to either side of him were rustling and, remembering what the guy had said about dangerous bugs, stopped so as to face them and not let them sneak up on him. Just then a flurry of motion erupted from the bushes on either side of him. He was swarmed by black bugs that were encircling him like a tornado. He tried to reach for his Pokeballs but found that they were gone!
Oh snap this was not good, not good. He looked around and saw flashes of red energy that meant his Pokemon were appearing and then he could actually see them. It was then that he realized these weren't bugs at all, they barely seemed to be Pokemon. They were odd shapes that seemed familiar, though he couldn't exactly place them as they were flashing past so fast and there were so many of them. His Pokemon tried a number of different attacks, but nothing seemed to work and soon they were released. By the time they each hit the ground and gathered their whits about them, the strange Pokemon were gone. "What the fuck is going on around here?!" Thomas shouted angrily, then moved to start collecting his Pokeballs.
Though he tried to return his Pokemon, for some reason they were unable to return to their balls. "Whatever." He said, making a decision to have them checked out by the first Nurse or Professor he came across. They all went towards the castle and had no idea that the strange events were only just beginning.

He wasn't cut too much, so he would be mostly bruised in the morning. After a good shower he went to sleep. The next morning he was really feeling it. Luckily there was no lasting numbness from the stun powder, but he could really feel the blasts and beating. He groaned as he stood up and got dressed in jeans, an old red shirt and leather jacket. With Zinnia's assistance Ember managed to throw together what he thought were two perfectly acceptable outfits. He had picked out a simple outfit for Llorona to wear to bed and something comfortable she could wear during the day to travel in. They weren't much but it would have to do until she could get some new clothes. He continued to dig until he found a small purse buried at the bottom of Hanako's things. The Gardevoir let out a small cry to get his fidgeting trainer's attention before holding up the purse for her to see. "Oh. Y-yes. Th-that too." She muttered before turning her attention back to Kintaro. The purse was of so little interest to her that the tags were still on it. Prior to leaving home it had sat in her closet for months, totally untouched. Now it would have a good home. The Gardevoir tossed a couple of Potions into the purse for good measure before setting it on a chair. He placed a piece of paper on the pile with 'LOLO' written across it in large letters. He had done his good deed for the night. The Gardevoir sprawled out across several seats with Hanako's bag on the floor beside him and Zinnia flopped across his stomach. He was going to get in a nap before Hanako returned with the rest of her team. The Frogadier seemed to have a similar plan.

Kintaro Satoshi Everyone parted ways amicably. That was way better than Kintaro had been expecting. Llorona had proven to be a pain through most of their adventure together and Alec had not seemed like much of a reliable character, but they had proven their value as trainers. He would need to find ways to repay their favors. The trip back to Camphrier Town was quiet. Comfortable...mostly. Kintaro was used to Attica walking between his feet and keeping him from tripping or losing his way. A soft thing clinging to his arm for no other reason than to keep attached to him was not that. He was glad when she took the time to help Ember figure some items out for Llorona to change into, then had to hand a big file to Nurse Joy. He looked at her, perplexed, then to Joy who looked very prepared to disable in him in some way if he tried to fight this. Nurse Joy was scary no matter which one it was. He lowered his gaze and sighed. "Alright. I'll go with you." He conceded defeat and Joy smiled. They were going to get checked out and probably recommended to the town's doctor for their issues. Hanako's file was big and intimidating in its own right!
While Kintaro was busy getting poked and prodded by the Joy, Odyss was now in charge of the party. Marshall and Gandor and Jade and Mary were in their balls. He carried Attica on his back. Even unconscious the Bisharp had slapped her ball out of the Chesnaught's paws every time he tried to return her as ordered. The shell on his back was pretty great! He could hardly feel the razor edges of Attica's body! "Alright...and then...there we go." He mused to himself, pulling the Pokeball from the PC as instructed. A new Pokeball was now held in the Chesnaught's hands while he cradled the rest of the collection in his arms. "Boss is gonna wanna talk to you. You better hope you have a good attitude for it. He's real scary." Odyss wasn't like other evolved Pokemon. Even though he had matured somewhat as Quilladin at first, he had not changed at all since evolving to Chesnaught. He was a sweet little thing with a soft voice belying his massive and powerful stature. Napping looked like a good plan but he had a job to do, and he was not convinced Yvonne couldn't find a way to make a run for it. So vigilance was necessary, and Odyss remained such. He sat calmly, fidgeting occasionally as he really wished he could do something. Llorona Braithwaite Llorona was, admittedly, the last to reach the pokemon center of the group that had gone to the palace. She wasn't as hurt as the others - but Atlas had slowed their progress considerably due to a complex mixture of not wanting to go back into his ball - which was understandable, not wanting llorona or anyone else to help him hobble along - which was less understandable, and the insatiable need to take in the world around him. The woman continued to chew on her bottom lip until she was certain it was close to bleeding. All that time spent in the ball, everything must look so much different through the eyes of that hitmonchan. Still, the owl, the woman, and the boxing Pokemon eventually did make their way to the same location all involved in that crazy maze seemed to be gravitating towards. The Pokemon Center was a welcome sight, and by the time Llorona had her turn with the nurse it seemed as though the pink-haired joy was about to blow a fuse. All these damaged bodies one after another couldn't be easy to explain, nor could it be easy to work on them all. With a sigh, the woman put on her best 'I'm sorry' face before handing the nurse her Pokeballs, and walking Atlas to a place in the back where he could sit. She did NOT, however, stay for questions from the nurse who seemed to immediately pick up on Atlas's poor condition. Deadeye seemed adamant against going for a check-up, so the grass type owl remained on her shoulder while she waited in the lobby. Llorona had no more money for another night in the hotel, something that caused her to cringe at her surroundings\ even though given the night they'd had, she was under no illusions that she wouldn't be able to sleep here. Exhaustion had caught up hours ago and now the only thing keeping her awake was the general buzz of the Pokemon center, and the worry she felt for her fighting type Pokemon. "He's gonna need some time..." Llorona muttered, brushing some of her now dusted hair from her face as she sighed. The Rowlet on her shoulder bobbed his head a few times in understanding. Without money, getting him the additional care he would need would be...tricky. But not entirely impossible. The woman still in her Halloween costume had just begun to nod off when she found herself shook awake by what she could swear was the sound of some jackass on a motorcycle peeling out nearby. "Show off." She mused, glancing towards the counter in case the nurse had somehow completed whatever voodoo they did to get her team up and ready to move. When it became clear that she still had time to wait - Llorona began to look around the center. Surely not all of the people who had been at that party had already managed to leave? Not that she particularly liked anyone else involved. They had come together out of necessity and they had survived. Her eye twitched when she had an involuntary thought regarding both Hanako and Kintaro, causing her to stretch her thin arms above her head and straighten her back. Maybe they had just a smidge of respect from her now. But nothing more than that. Despite the fact that his human companion had clearly done several sweeps of the lobby in which they sat - Llorona had clearly missed something intended for her, which was really saying something considering Deadeye couldn't really read the human text all that well. The others had called her Lolo quite a few times and while he was aware his trainer didn't care for the nickname - it looked like a set of things Llorona probably needed sooner rather than later. Leaning over as if to whisper a secret, the owl chittered a bit before craning his neck towards a chair on the opposite side of the room, retracting and stretching several times to get his trainer's attention. Once she saw it, the woman nodded, reaching up and pausing just a moment before patting his head. He could still see her unease but at least she had managed the action in the end. The awkward interaction completed, Llorona stood and made her way cautiously towards the chair and the Pokemon waiting at the opposite end of the room. This one was with Hanako but Llorona couldn't seem to recall the name of the psychic type. "Why'd you write that?" She asked plainly. There was no more metaphorical gas in the tank to be sarcastic or spiteful about the usage of the nickname. Even after asking, the woman did seem to lean in a bit on her tip-toes to get a look at what exactly the collection of things sitting in the chair marked for her was. For the briefest of moments she had somehow rationalized the possibility that her stolen belongings from the other day had been recovered - then she began to take in the assortment of spare clothes, purse, and other things and her face burned. "Is...Is this a joke?" She asked in a way that made it clear she wasn't being petty. It was more exasperation in her voice than anything. Were they really treating her like a charity case? 'Come on, you know better than that.' Blinking, the girl straightened her skirt out and drew a breath. She'd known the other woman for barely a day and a half and already knew this wasn't a bitchy type of prank. Or a case of the pity parade. No, chances are the dumb little tree of a woman had simply been being nice. Ultimately, she thought as she looked between the Gardevoir and the chair before she leaned over and delicately picked up one of the articles of clothing - this was almost somehow worse than being a prank or petty. "Well." Was the only thing she could think to say, pressing the shirt against her much smaller frame and shrugging. At least she'd have a change of clothing after the shower now. "To the hospital then?" Ember questioned the pair but he didn't need either of them to answer. Hanako's expression was all the reply he needed. The Gardevoir went to collect Odyss and Zinnia. He wasn't sure if he could Teleport Attica but he was going to try. "I...um..." Hanako tightened her grip on Kintaro, hiding her face against him timidly while she stared at Llorona. "L-let's meet u-under nicer c-conditions next t-time, okay?" She managed a tiny smile before going quiet. When Ember returned he nodded to Llorona before turning to Hanako and Kintaro. "We're just going to avoid giving you two a chance to run off before you're taken care of." Ember looked to Attica and frowned. "I'll come back and walk there with you if you don't come with us." The Type difference was concerning but it was something they would have to work around. Hanako had just enough time to try to wave to Llorona one more time before Ember teleported their little group to the town's doctor.

Llorona Braithwaite "Yeah. I gathered that." Llorona stated, rubbing her eyes. The rest of them were either more injured than she realized, or on some kind of drugs to not have wanted to sleep by now. She still couldn't even muster up the cohesiveness to make a snarky remark. When Ember spoke again, the woman just nodded in confirmation. It wasn't hard to believe really, the shorter, plumper girl was just that nice - something that irked Llorona even now. The fact that it bothered her because she knew she wasn't deserving of it was NOT something that the woman let surface in her mind. She'd had enough revelations for one day. "That's a matter of perspective really. In my world, nothing nice is free." The words came almost automatically and were followed by a yawn Lolo didn't bother to stifle in the least. She spent the next few minutes sifting through the things that were clearly left there - things she would certainly be kicking herself for taking tomorrow when her wits returned to her - before balling up the garments that were more than satisfactory for sleeping at a Pokemon center and forcing a polite smirk. "Well, for once I'm glad she doesn't hold a grudge. This outfit isn't going to last long enough to get back to my things." To show her point, the young woman lifted the side of her skirt just a touch, the same side she had slid on to avoid the Aerodactyl, letting it drop one strip at a time. She looked like a beat-up hooker, which was quite possibly the reason why even these clothes looked so appealing at the moment. There had been a few awkward seconds where, in her exhaustion, Llorona wasn't quite sure if she was simply supposed to take the clothes and leave, or perhaps leave a message with Ember for the tree colored woman whenever she returned. 'Maybe I should just wait?' Crossed her mind briefly before said short tree colored woman reappeared. Instantly she wished she had just gone, not smiling at Hanako but waving as best she could. If things were awkward before, they certainly were more so now. Except that they weren't. There was no ceremonious goodbye or parting life lesson the raven-haired woman would vow to throw in the trash later. In the end, it was simply a straight forward exit that actually caused her to grin. "Let's." She offered to a now blank wall - the others vanished via the strange powers only a psychic type Pokemon could produce. After approaching the nurse and discovering that there was still a bit of a wait on her team, and especially regarding atlas, Llorona decided it would be best to stay another day in Camphrier Town - dragging her battered and bruised self to one of the small showers trainers were allowed to use before peeling away the remnants of her Halloween costume and throwing them into a plastic bag. Why she hadn't instantly tossed them into the trash was a mystery to her - but there was something tickling her brain that said perhaps they might yet come in handy. Despite being a public shower - it was quite enjoyable, something that would have surprised Llorona had she not been so tired. She wasn't sure how long she stayed beneath the steaming stream of water, but by the time she emerged, her skin had become even more prune-like than when she spent a day at the beach. With her hair in a towel, Llorona sat on a bunk where she had left Deadeye perched to watch her belongings for another potential mugger - though the tiny Owl had since fallen asleep even while still managing to look vigilant. "He's not a wingul." She reminded herself for the fourth time in a row before reaching out carefully and picking the Rowlet up only to set him at the bottom of her bed on a pillow. It wasn't a private room, and it wasn't the serene peace and quiet of luxury that she was used to, nonetheless, Llorona laid her head on the bunk and closed her eyes, drifting off into sleep almost instantly.
