"History Living."
In central Sinnoh where canals lead inland from he ocean towards the base of Mt. Coronet, Eterna City remains as it always has as one of the oldest cities in Sinnoh. Over time newer buildings have been built for the city as it continues to grow as one of the larger cities in the region, but much of the city is still very old and almost run down, showing the towns history and age. Whether the city has not yet come to rebuild and reform the older parts of it's boundaries or has forgotten all together about the diminishing buildings and history remains a mystery, but those who live here do not pay much mind to it. Instead they hustle and bustle in the city life they know while their history disappears little by little.
{Eterna City Gym (Click)}Gardenia is the Official Gym Leader of Eterna City's Gym. She hands out the Forest Badge to Trainers who defeat her, and she specializes in Grass-type Pokémon. Gardenia has lived in Eterna all her life and even at a young age, she was fascinated with the forest that surrounds the city. She never was that much of a girly girl, and always loved to get down and dirty, whether it be in the garden with her mom, or mowing the lawn with her dad. Even now, she likes to explore the Eterna Forest, and she spends along of her time there, though she does everything she can to avoid the Old Chateau. As a young teen, she was out in the forest with her friends, and entered the old building alone on a dare. She didn't last that long in the building, and still refuses to talk about what happened to her. When she comes across people within the forest, she stops to warn the person of the mysterious stories of hauntings surrounding the Old Chateau and tells them to avoid it at all costs. Being the grass type gym leader for Sinnoh, It's not a shock that she loves grass type, but she is down right obsessed with the type. She will fawn over most grass Pokemon, especially if she has never seen the Pokemon before, she's even gotten in trouble for halting a battle all together to meet a Pokemon. While she adores one type, she despises another out of fear. She hates Ghost types, and is completely at war with herself over the Trevenant, and Gourgeist Families. Gardenia's gym sits towards the outside of the city, and close to the edge of the Eterna forest. The outside of the gym contrasts the rest of the city, but is perfect for Gardenia's tastes. Vines and Shrubbery has begun to grow up the sides of the walls on the gym, in the spring they sprout beautiful flowers that be smelt up to a mile away. Once inside the gym, it opens up into one large room. Just like the outside the walls are coated with vines and plant life, only more so. The plant life climbs all the way up, and stops at the solid glass roof that lets in massive amounts of sunlight. The floor of the gym is nothing but grass and dirt, keeping it all natural so Gardenia, Caroline and anyone else can come in and plant what every they want where ever they want. The ground is flat all the way across, making it fairly easy for any type to battle on. There are no platforms for the battlers on the battle field, so they didn't disrupt the plant life, so the battlers will standing level with the battle field. The battle field is fairly versatile, and easy to battle on, though it has 3-4 trees, and multiple plants growing upon it. Over time, Gardenia has had a high tech sprinkler system installed in the gym, just in case of a fire during a battle, after hearing about Erika's first gym, she wanted to make sure hers would be safe. Though, that isn't Gardenia's favorite feature to the gym. On nice days, Gardenia will push a button on the wall directly behind her side of the field, which causes the glass roof to slide open and let in the cool breezes and some times even in rain. {Gym Trainers (Click)} Caroline Roselia Lv. 20 HP 150 Female Ability: Poison Point: When this Pokemon is hit by an attack that makes physical contact, there is a 3/10 chance that the attacking Pokemon is poisoned. Julian Malcolm Carry on my Wayward Son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
Julian accepted his rewards with a nod and a smile, and then went on his way. He stopped in briefly to have his Pokemon looked after but for the most part they were all just fine and ready for travel! He climbed onto Pidgeot's back and they were off. He was sure that many of the Trainers who went through this Region would walk, and therefore he would most likely get to where he knew the next City with a Gym Leader to be before Roark would get any information about what to expect to her. Not to say he was that sort of person, but he didn't really know how the Gym Leaders worked outside of battles.
Pidgeot landed outside of the Eterna City Gym just as it was getting dark. They were still open as well! He must have just caught them before they were set to close, but he walked in and found the Gym Trainer. She didn't seem too super pleased to see a Challenger this late in the day but she dutifully sent out her Roselia. Julian nodded his thanks and sent out Torkoal. The turtle let steam vent through it's nose before shooting Embers at the enemy. It was fast and managed to avoid most of them easily enough.
One or two hit, but it retaliated with Poison Stings. The stingers mostly hit Torkoal's shell until the Roselia blinded Torkoal with a glowing Magical Leaf attack and finally one of the stingers did get the turtle pretty good above his right eye. He had to shake it free before attacking with a final Ember attack and finishing up that battle. She had been trying to poison his Pokemon to make it weaker for the Gym Leader, he knew that much, but only time would tell if she actually managed. Especially with that one hitting Torkoal right in the face. TL;DR Roselia (150/150) vs Torkoal (90/90) Round 1 Roselia used Poison Sting (-15, 75/90) Torkoal used Ember (-60, 90/150) Roselia is hurt by burn (-9, 81/150) Round 2 Roselia used Magical Leaf (-25, 50/90) Torkoal used Ember (-60, 21/150) Roselia is hurt by burn (-9, 12/150) Round 3 Roselia used Poison Sting (-15, 35/90) Torkoal used Ember (-60, 0/150) Roselia has fainted! Julian Malcolm Carry on my Wayward Son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
The girl (who was pretty cute in Julian's opinion) went to get the Gym Leader. In this time he took the chance to look around. He hadn't noticed much at first, having the narrow-vision of a Gym Challenger. It didn't help that it was night as well. The walls, which he took to be painted green, were actually covered in vines that climbed up to the ceiling. He could see a sliver of the moon above him as well, which told him at least part of the roof was clear. Now that his eyes were adjusting and he was looking at things, he noticed trees and plants of varying sizes all over the place. His attention was suddenly returned to the other side of the Gym as movement caught his eye.
It was the Gym Leader, coming out to meet with him. Sure it was late but this was a challenge! She used a Turtwig to kick this battle off with and Julian sent out Mantine. Okay, so putting a Water-Type against a Grass-Type Pokemon wasn't the best idea, but he knew that Mantine was tough. Turtwig approached Mantine and used Bite. Mantine had to fight back with her fins, and the battered Turtwig was forced to be returned. It had been a quick battle and that hadn't been the best sign for the Gym Leader. She wasn't giving up yet though!
A Roserade appeared next. It's plant-like mask and cape gave it the appearance of being a superhero facing their nemesis. Julian returned Mantine and sent out Torkoal. He could see a change in her demeanor as she prepared to hit the button which would activate the sprinkler system at a moment's notice. Roserade couldn't use the sun for extra effect, but the pair of Weather Ball attacks used in the span of time Torkoal used a single Ember flipped Torkoal onto his back. Roserade had taken the hit in exchange for knocking out one of his Pokemon. It was tough, that was for sure.
Julian returned Torkoal and sent in Kabuto. Roserade used Magical Leaf and the flurry of floating leaves left cuts and scs all over Kabuto. It couldn't vanish and sap the strength of the Gym Leader's Pokemon this time. Julian had to return Kabuto as well and now he was down yet another member.
This was not good. He had to use Koffing now, it was his only hope. The Poison-Type Pokemon might be able to defeat the Grass-Type opposite. Something Roserade did made grass and plants all around them bloom tenfold. He had a bad feeling it was going to increase it's attacks, but Koffing did not look worried. It just floated peacefully over to Roselia and looked right into it's eyes before exploding on the spot. Julian had to crouch, shielding his face from the blast. He wanted to shout for his Pokemon. What had just happened?! He was panicked, and ran forward to find his Pokemon laying on the ground beside Roselia, and neither one moved. He returned Koffing and looked around for the Gym Leader. Hopefully she hadn't been hurt in that...TL;DR Turtwig (200/200) vs Mantine (120/120) Round 1 Turtwig used Bite (-45, 75/120) Mantine used Wing Attack (-100, 100/200) Round 2 Turtwig used Bite (-45, 30/120) Mantine used Wing Attack (-100, 0/200) Turtwig has fainted!

gravity_resistantLeader GardeniaGardenia returned her Pokemon with a purse of her lips, now peeking out form behind the cloak like garb she was wearing and used to shield her face from the blast. Not only had he defeated her awesome and beloved Pokemon, but she didn't get to see any grass types out of the four she battles. And not only was it a defeat but an explosion. One was a fire type, which she had grown use to having to battle, but at least it wasn't a Chimchar, or Pokemon he had just caught in the Eterna Forest. She was incredibly happy he didn't catch any of those stupid ghost types in the forest, she would have been more then happy to end the battle and flee the gym. But she had lost rightfully so. Gardenia began across the field to the trainer who looked worried, but she gave him a smile. "Well that was a bit more... Explosive then I was expecting..." She said looking at the charred grass that was once growing on the field. She knew the ash would cause the grass to grow back quickly and healthy so she wasn't upset. "I hope you're okay from that, Pokemon that use Self Destruct can be touchy... I'd be careful with that one. " She told him as she pulled out the badge and held it out to the teen. "Here you go. If you find any cool grass types on your way through the league, come back and show me!" she exclaimed beaming as she did so. Her obsession with grass types was really showing. "Oh! and if you pass through the Eterna Forest. Avoid the old abandoned house... Trust me. " She warned him. She made sure to warn everyone about the Old Chateau. It was the soul reason why she was terrified of Ghost types, and she didn't want anyone to have to suffer what she experienced.Julian has received: +28 exp split amongst Mantine, Kabuto, Torkoal, Koffing! Julian Malcolm Carry on my Wayward Son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
Julian accepted his rewards with a smile. He listened to what she had to say about Koffing, ghosts, forests, and Grass-Type Pokemon. After holding up a finger, he hurried off to the Pokemon Center where he left his injured Pokemon with the Nurse Joy of Eternia City. She was tending to them but in the meantime he went over to the computer system and withdrew a couple Pokemon. He then walked out of the Center, leaving the Nurse to do her job, and went back to the Gym. He walked up to the Gym Leader and had a smile on his face when he released Bulbasaur, Chespin, and his Exeggutor - Tank. The Pokemon seemed to enjoy their surroundings. The plant-infused Gym was a Grass-Type Pokemon's dream come true.
He knew the Turtwig she had used in their battle was the Grass-Type starter for this Region, having familiarized himself with Starters of differing Regions before setting out on his own Pokemon journey. So he knew that she would not have seen very many Bulbasaur or Chespin around these parts. He had also written out a note, which he handed to her as soon as she had looked at him again after examining his Pokemon. 'Sorry about the explosion. I did not know he could do that. Want help cleaning up?'

gravity_resistantLeader GardeniaThe teen seemed to take in everything she had said, but didn't seem to say anything in return. The male simply held up a finger and then quickly left the gym. "Whaaaa?" She asked to the blonde Gym trainer who had just returned from healing her Pokemon. Caroline shrugged. Gardenia looked back towards the now empty doorway and shrugged herself. The auburn haired leader had since moved over towards the small Budew that were living in the bushes towards the sides, and began watering them and calming them after the loud explosion. Caroline had begun stomping the battle field and combing through the soil, removing chunks of charred dirt, and leaving the ash. The teen returned, catching Gardenia's attention at once, as she stood back up and began to walk towards him. He met her half way with a smile on his face, which his silence confused her, but he pulled out three Pokeballs. Letting out an Exeggutor, Chespin, and Bulbasaur. Her eyes widened and lit up, as she let out a deep gasp. "Oh My Arceus!" She shouted as she leapt through the air and onto the Tree Pokemon, giving him a big hug. She held on tight with a beaming grin on her face. "He's so amazing and beautiful! Oh goodness! Did you know in the Alola Region they can grow to be 30 feet tall, or taller!" She exclaimed excitedly. She pried herself from the tree and then looked down to the other Pokemon. She plucked the Chespin up from the ground as she continued her excited train of thought, pulling him into a hug like one would with a teddy bear. "You are so cute! and look at your wittle paws! Ugh! I can't stand it! Did you know, that if he flexed his quills on his head, they become so strong he could get run over by a truck and be perfectly fine!" She continued happily, stroking the Chespin's head softly as she spoke, ensuring to pet the Pokemon's quils the right way. She paused for a moment, forcing Chespin to attack all of the affection and attention she was going to give him. She then stopped and looked down, gently setting the Chespin down she moved over to the Bulbasaur. "Of course I couldn't forget you missy! You're just as cute! And nubby!" She spoke, pulling the Pokemon to her chest as she did the Chespin. "It's funny, Some scientists still classify Bulbasaur as a seed, like Pumpkin Seeds, or Sunkern. Well if it's true, you're the darnest cutest seed!" She exclaimed happily. Her happiness was almost radiating off of her. It took her a moment to actually notice the teen was trying to hand her a note. She accepted the note, but still held the Bulbasaur in one arm. She read the note, and it all clicked as to why he was so silent. "Oooooh..." She let slip, as she continued to look at the paper and read. He apologized for the explosion, and wasn't away of it being possible. As well as offered to clean up. "Oh, it's okay... Some Pokemon just like to explode, ya know?" She said, waving it off. "You never know until they actually do go off." She continued. She looked back to the burnt spots from the embers, and the explosion, and shrugged shaking her head, and turning back to the teen before speaking. "No, it's okay. We just have to get the big burnt out pieces, and Caroline is almost done. The ash is actually good and nutritious for the soil." She explained beaming, as she was still holding and cuddling the Bulbasuar that didn't belong to her. She couldn't count how many times her gym caught fire, though only a few times had they needed the sprinkler system.

Julian Malcolm Carry on my Wayward Son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
Julian actually enjoyed watching the Gym Leader become so excited over his Pokemon. He liked that he could bring this much joy to somebody else. Grass-Type Pokemon were cool, sure. Perhaps they weren't his favorite but there was a lot of cool facts about them that he did not know. He tried to imagine his Exeggutor getting thirty feet tall and picturing the giant just as large around as he was now. He just couldn't imagine it. How would they fit into buildings? How could they possibly be used to challenge a Gym Leader? Besides, how could it be possible that Chespin could actually get run over by a truck and be fine? They seemed like the sort of thing you'd find in a comic book, not in real life.
He sat down in the charred grass and watched her play with the Pokemon. He had been so busy lately, moving from City to City that he hadn't gotten to sit down and enjoy himself like he had in Kanto. So that's what he was doing right now. Besides, after he left the Gym, he would be going right back to the Pokemon Center to sleep for the night. He had time before he got too tired. Bulbasaur and Chespin enjoyed being picked up in turn and crooned over. Tank looked as though he weren't really sure how to handle the attention. Outside of Noctowl who tended to use him as a perch, he was left mostly to his own devices. He liked it that way, that way the three heads could argue among one another in peace.
The deaf Trainer lost track of time while sitting down on the grass, and actually ended up falling asleep. She was so distracted with the Pokemon that she didn't notice, but when she was ready to close up the Gym she would be more than welcome to wake him up and send him on his way. He just needed a little nap was all.

Julian Malcolm Carry on my Wayward Son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more
Julian woke up after a few hours to find that the eccentric Gym Leader was still having fun playing with his Grass-Type Pokemon. He yawned, stretched, and rooted around for his pen and notepad. 'You really love them. Why don't I let Tank and Chespin stay here with you. They'll have more fun here than at my Father's.' He returned Bulbasaur and soon after left the Gym for what lay beyond. He wasn't sure what would happen next but he knew he wasn't really tired anymore. Not after that unexpected nap. So after a quick stop into the Pokemon Center to retrieve his Pokemon from Nurse Joy, he walked outside and climbed on to the back of a waiting Pidgeot. - Kira Anne Williams - ♪ I'm gonna show you what little girls are made of, gunpowder and... gunpowder and lead! ♪ Roark was not the sort of person Kira liked. He was a sore loser and treated her rudely just because she'd done what she was supposed to do in a battle against him and won his badge. "Yeah, okay, thanks I guess." She said stubbornly. She could be a bitter girl when she felt wronged, and she wasn't going to play nice if he wasn't. she wanted to go off on him but it wouldn't solve anything. It would just start an argument and she shouldn't waste her breath on someone like him.
Charizard was waiting for her outside. She didn'twaste any second longer in this City, climbing onto her Pokemon and taking to the sky. When she landed next it was in Eterna. She made her first stop the Pokemon Center. Having been in such a hurry before, she hadn't wanted to stop in the previous place. WIth her Pokemon healed she had to go out and find the next Gym. Fortunately she didn't have to look around for long. The Gym turned out to be more along the lines of a giant garden.
The Grass-Type Pokemon standing around watched her walk in and up to the first person she found - a girl. She had a Roselia with her. "Let me guess." She began, still in a bit of a bad mood from earlier. "I have to battle you before I can take on the Gym Leader." She fingered her selection of Pokeballs trying to decide who to use against a Gym Leader so obviously specializing in Grass-Type Pokemon. Eventually she decided on Haunter.
"That's right!" Caroline said brightly. Her Pokemon was already out, she she just had to wait on Kira's selection. The spirit appeared, blinking in the bright sunlight and used Shadow Ball on the enemy before it could ready itself. Roselia huffed indignantly and tried to send glowing leaves scattering towards Haunter. Most of them phased through, but a couple actually had enough magical energy to damage the ghost regardless of it's intangibility. However, a second Shadow Ball attack did the trick. Roselia was returned and Caroline went off to inform the Gym Leader of her challenger.
Gardenia emerged, practically wearing her enthusiasm and excitement. Her Turtwing dealt the most damage to Haunter thus far, the damaging Bite attacks actually allowed fangs to sink into spectral body. Unfortunately for Turtwig, This also put it in perfect positioning to suffer a perfect succession of Shadow Balls. Turtwing was sent one blast a ta time further away from Haunter and nearer Gardenia. "Yes! That's what I'm talking about!" Kira exclaimed, and exchanged a grin with Haunter.
Last but not least came the battle between Haunter and Roserade. Unfortunately the Roserade's actions were far less effective than the Turtwig's had been. A flurry of Magical Leaf attacks could do noting against the onslaught of Shadow Balls taking the enemy down one at a time. When at last Roserade fell, Kira returned her ghost and walked right up to the grass-Type Gym Leader. Perhaps it was not one of the most exciting battles she'd experienced here, but hopefully it was one of the least destructive. At least she hadn't started any fires, it looked like the gym was already recovering from one. She returned her rose, her sadness lingering on her face for a moment, before snapping back to a friendly expression. She began to march her way across the grassy field happily. Making a very wide circle around Haunter if he were still out, clearly uncomfortable with the ghost's presence. But once she got by she was perky once again. "It's sad any time a grass type is defeated, but it was a pretty cool and spooky battle." She told the Redhead chipperly. She reached into her baggy pant and held out her badge. "The next few gyms are aloooooooot tougher, but I think you'll manage it just fine." The grass gym leader told her with a confident nod. She was happy with her defeat, it was fun regardless, and she was ready to make her way over to tend to an on watching Exeggcutor, but she stopped and looked back to Kira with a grim look. Kira thanked the Gym Leader for the battle, the badge, and for the advice. She didn't personally think she'd need to worry too much about the upcoming gyms but it wouldn't hurt to be cautious in her approach. However, the warning about staying away from some place out in the woods got her attention. It made her only want to visit this place that, moments before, she hadn't known existed. If she hadn't said anything at all, Kira would have gone on about her life and never stepped fort in that place, but now she simply had to find out what was so special about it. "Cool, I'll be sure to check that out soon." She said with a bright and genuine smile.
Well, it wouldn't be her next stop, but it was now on her list. She left the gym feeling good about her most recent adventures and keen to have some more. According to her plans, she had one more Gym to face in this Region before she could move onto the next. She wasn't sure what type they would specialize in, but she wasn't all that worried about such things. She would face what came no matter if she had the advantage or not. Elfana Aroway The trip to Eterna City had not done anything for her mood. Elfana was still carrying her Croagunk along, refusing to acknowledge the Alakazam and Jynx following along behind her. The pair of Pokemon had accepted that she was going to keep on pouting so they had spent the trip conversing amongst themselves. Elfana's Croagunk tilted his head back, croaking up at her as they made their way through the streets of the city. He repeated this each time they passed something he thought she should take note of. Bike shop, Pokemon Center, Gym...Had she not needed to collect badges none of these buildings would have appealed to her. She appreciated Kiro's attempt at helping though. She stopped near the Gym, observing the outside of it briefly before continuing on her way. Part of her wanted to go straight to the Gym but taking the time to train her Pokemon would probably be for the best. The stronger they were, the easier they could clear the Gym. The easier they could clear the Gym, the less time they would have to waste hanging around Eterna City. She rubbed Kiro's head. It was a solid plan. She let the Croagunk climb up on to her shoulders, letting him guide her towards what he assumed was the direction of the forest. They were still a ways off but she wasn't in a rush. Elfana Aroway "Is the plan to ignore them all day?" Kiro croaked at his trainer. They were halfway through the city and she was still refusing to even look back at the other two Pokemon that were following them. Elfana, of course, could not understand him so she did not reply. "This way next?" She had chosen a random street to follow. He croaked, confirming her plan before she continued on her way. Eterna City was...unimpressive. She was expecting to see more. They were passing through what appeared to be a rundown section of the city. She was briefly reminded of the region she was born in...but that thought was abandoned as quickly as it had appeared. Such thoughts were unwelcome. She patted her Croagunk's hand when he croaked at her a second time. "I'm fine." He must have noticed the sudden shift in her mood. Kiro croaked again, unconvinced. "This city is unpleasant. I would like to the forest sooner than later." Of course they still had to come back the city after they were done in the forest but that still gave her a day or two before she needed to deal with it again. They would get through the forest, beat the gym, then get as far away from Eterna as possible and never come back. Elfana Aroway Elfana was relieved when the exit to the city came into sight. They appeared to be going in the correct direction. Not much longer now and she would be in the forest. Normally she would have little to no interest in spending a couple of days wandering around a forest but right now it almost sounded appealing. Anything was better than spending more time in Eterna. She finally set Kiro down, letting the Croagunk hop along beside her. Her mood had even improved enough to slow down so the Alakazam and Jynx following her could catch up. She still didn't say anything to them but at least she wasn't ignoring them like she had been previously. Neither of them bothered to comment on her mood. They knew it would pass soon enough. She couldn't avoid talking to them forever. "Ready?" She glanced down at her Croagunk. He was going to be a big help to her in the next Gym. If she wanted to get through it quickly, Kiro was going to have to get stronger. He nodded, croaking excitedly up at her. She couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm. "Off to Eterna Forest we go then."Partners: Out of their Pokeballs: Walter (Alakazam), Kiro (Croagunk), Kayuki (Jynx) Wearing: dress, hairstyle, shoes Trainer Encounter: 17/25 Wild Encounter: 22/5 Item Posting: Fan Plug 16/30 OOC: Travel Egg active for Liandry. 4/7/20 {Inventory}Pokeballs: x Pokeball x3 Luxury Balls

Elfana Aroway The Pokemon Center was an almost welcome sight after the night she had just endured. Almost. Her Pokemon were handed off to Kayuki and the doctor headed upstairs, making it a point to avoid interacting with the nurse at all. Kayuki could deal with the much too cheerful nurse. She was going to find out if there was a shower she could use. Her appearance was not up to her usual standard and she wanted to correct that before she took on the Gym. Whatever gods were watching her must have been feeling merciful. She couldn't help the small sigh of relief when she found the showers. Something in this town needed to go right. She didn't think she would be able to tolerate another mess so soon after the forest. All of her energy seemed to leave her as soon as the hot water hit her skin. Everything that had happened in the forest was only just hitting her. Her body was sore and her wrist protested when she tried to move it. "Less reckless approach next time." Throwing herself off of the roof of a mansion probably wasn't her best call. She sank to the floor, resting with her back against the wall of the connecting stall. Her Pokemon were being taken care of downstairs. Until the Nurse was done with them, she was going to rest. She decided to close her eyes, trying to ignore everything but the water pouring over her. When she opened them next she found herself staring at a worried looking Croagunk. "Did you at least let her heal you?" She asked, rubbing her eyes as if it would get rid of the exhaustion. Kiro croaked as he was scooped up by the doctor. She looked him over, ensuring his wounds had been taken care of properly before she stood. The Nurse had done an acceptable job. Her Croagunk was healthy again. She gave him a small hug before setting him back down in the water, adjusting the temperature so it was more comfortable for him. "Stay in the water until I'm dressed." It would be good for his skin. She dried herself off and redressed quickly, deciding to leave her hair down instead of asking for Walter to help her with it. A lazy but comfortable outfit would have to do for now. By the time she was done, Kiro had hopped up and had turned off the water on his own. He was eager to leave the Pokemon Center now that she was done. The other Pokemon should be ready too. Kiro tried to rush back downstairs but Elfana took a little bit longer. She had retrieved a small, heart shaped scale from her things and had attached it to a small length of ribbon she had pulled from one of her dresses. Liandry needed some sort of reward for helping her early on in the mansion. Cranberry would be given some treats later on. The Cranidos would be thrilled with any sort of food she gave him.
Elfana made her way downstairs with Kiro. Kayuki had already retrieved her Pokeballs from the nurse and was waiting near the exit with Walter and Pantalaimon. The little Turtwig was napping in her arms. She took the Pokeballs from Kayuki, putting away all but Liandry's ball. The Cyndaquil was let out. She started to stretch herself out before she seemed to recall where they had been before. The flames on her back started to flare up until Elfana knelt down to comfort her. "Easy, sweetheart. We're safe now." She whispered as she patted her head. "The mansion is far behind us." The Cyndaquil seemed to settle slightly but only after she had looked around skeptically to make sure they really were safe. Elfana picked her up, securing the ribbon around Liandry's neck. "Thank you for helping me, Liandry. I would have been lost without you." Stumbling around a haunted mansion in the state she was in by herself would not have ended well. Liandry made a small squeaking noise while she admired the heart on her new collar. "I'll have to find something that can withstand your Fire attacks later. Try not to burn the ribbon for now." The Cyndaquil nodded excitedly, fixated on her present. She wouldn't let anything happen to it! "Shall we?" She gestured towards the exit before going outside. They had a Gym to beat.Partners: Out of their Pokeballs: Pantalaimon (Turtwig), Kiro (Croagunk), Walter (Alakazam), Kayuki (Jynx), Liandry (Cyndaquil) Wearing: dress, heels Trainer Encounter: 41/25 Wild Encounter: 9/5 Item Posting: Vs. Elfana Aroway Eterna City had- unfortunately- not lost its "charm" over the course of her brief stay in the forest. Elfana still hated it, though now that distaste was being partially quieted by her exhaustion. She did not openly comment on her irritation until she arrived at the Gym. Yesterday Kiro had pointed the Gym out to her and she had only thought to make note of its location then. She hadn't truly taken in the sight of it. "That's an eyesore." The doctor muttered irritably, brushing her still damp bangs back and sighing. She made a mental note to check in with her lab and make sure the system she had set up to water her roses was still running properly before pushing open the door. She took a deep breath, sighed, then stepped inside, trying her hardest to convince herself that commenting simply wasn't worth it. "Try to be nice." Walter murmured as he passed her, searching out a comfortable spot to sit amongst the plant life. He patted the spot beside him for Kayuki to join. The Jynx settled in next to her, a now awake Pantalaimon still in her arms. The sleepy Turtwig was looking around the Gym with a look of awe. It was so pretty! He let out a little squeal when Kayuki let him go so he could explore. Elfana watched the Turtwig for a couple of seconds before shrugging. She likely wouldn't need him for the upcoming battle so he was free to play as much as he wanted. Liandry was set down so she could walk along beside herself and Kiro. She scanned the Gym for the trainer she was assuming she needed to battle before she could take on the leader. That was how this worked, right? She didn't need to look long. It was a single room and the trainer was already approaching her.
"You're here to challenge the Gym, right?" The young woman grinned and Elfana had to resist the urge to roll her eyes. She hated people that were unnecessarily cheerful. "Well, you're going to have to-" Elfana raised a hand for silence and cut her off. "That forced sunny personality isn't going to make the plants grow any faster. Send out your Pokemon and let's get this over with." Poor Caroline looked put off by the sudden aggression but Elfana really wasn't in the mood to deal with another human today. She had met her quota for social activity already. "Liandry." Her expression softened when she looked down at her Cyndaquil, nodding towards the Gym trainer and the Roselia she had released. "You're up. Finish it quickly."
The Cyndaquil was excited to take on her first Gym opponent. The spots on her back glowed faintly but did not erupt, even after she was hit with a flurry of colorful leaves. She took the attack head on, trying to brace herself as best she could against it. Liandry escaped with only a few minor scratches. The air around her heated up but still her back did not ignite. She was being incredibly careful with the ribbon around her neck. She would not damage it! The Cyndaquil unleashed wave of heated air at the Roselia, the heat seeming to disorient and drain the unfortunate Grass type. When the attack ended the Roselia was down. The Cyndaquil hopped as best as her tiny legs would allow, letting out a little cry before turning to look at her trainer. Elfana knelt down, gesturing for her to return to her. She ran her hand along the top of the Fire type's head, a small smile appearing on her lips. "You did great, Liandry." She praised the Cyndaquil, continuing to pet her a moment longer before standing up straight again. Elfana didn't bother saying anything to Caroline. She simply waited for the gym leader to appear.

ElfyLeader GardeniaWhile the battle had started and ended fairly quickly, Caroline made her way away from the battle field and the rude trainer and went back about her business, tending to the plants. Seemingly not going to fetch Gardenia. There was a bit of a lull as Gardenia hadn't made an entrance yet it seemed. However this as because she was already in the room. She had been tending to a near by Exeggcutor she was Pokemon-sitting, seemingly ignoring the fact there had been a blast of fire in her gym. She made her way out of the shrubbery only to discover an unfamiliar Turtwig. She had all types of grass and bug types about, but her own Turtwig was in it's Pokeball. This was a new Turtwig in her gym. Without even acknowledging the challenger, her full attention was on Pantalaimon. "Oh. My. Goodness. You are so precious!" She squealed, as she brought her hands to the sides of her face in excitement. She dropped to the ground to make herself level with the new friend to be. "Hello, little sprout!" She greeted gleefully as she began to pet at the Pokémon, pining over how cute the Pokémon was. She wanted nothing more then to scoop up the Pokémon and snuggle him, but she knew that could lead to a vine to the face, so she was more then happy crawling on the ground to pet the Pokémon, and tell him how cute he is until she was able to snuggle the adorable thing. {Leader Gardenia (Click)} Turtwig Lv: 25 HP: 200 Gender: Male Ability: Overgrow- When HP is below 1/3rd Grass type attacks will do x1.5 their raw damage (type effectiveness included) Mega Drain- 40 | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt Bite- 45 | 3/10 chance of making the target flinch Razor Leaf- 40 Withdraw- Raises user's defense by one stage Roserade Lv: 25 HP: 200 Gender: Female Ability: Natural Cure: The Pokémon's status ailments are healed when withdrawn from battle Grassy Terrain- Restores 1/16 max HP to all Pokemon and doubles the power of grass type attacks for five turns Weather Ball- 50 | Type changes with weather Mega Drain- 40 | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt Magical Leaf- 50 | Never misses {Battle overview (Click)}

Elfana Aroway Waiting around had done little for her mood. Apparently the Gym needed to be just as draining as the rest of the city. At least the last Gym Leader had gotten right to the battle! She hadn't had to wait around for him to appear. Eventually she ended up sitting down where she was, pulling a notebook out of her bag and beginning to lazily sketch a design for a prosthetic blade for a Scyther. If one were to flip through the book they would find dozens of sketches of various parts that she had worked on for other Pokemon. There was always a way to keep working. Occasionally she would glance up to check on her Pokemon but for the most part she let them do whatever they wanted. The Jynx and Alakazam were chatting with each other while Pantalaimon explored. When she looked at Liandry she turned to the next page in her notebook and began working on an idea for a fireproof collar for her instead. She did not look up when she heard someone approach her Turtwig. Instead she gestured for Liandry to get into position for the next battle and continued working on her project. Pantalaimon was beyond thrilled to meet Gardenia. He let out an excited squeal in return, bouncing in place as best his tiny turtle legs would allow until she was close enough for him to boop his nose against her. "Hi friend~! This place is really pretty~! Do you think it's pretty too? There's so many flowers!" He babbled on while she petted him, forgetting that she couldn't understand him at all. "He thinks the Gym is pretty." The Alakazam decided to translate for Pantalaimon. The little grass turtle nodded and happily continued to babble on. Liandry offered a timid "Quil?" in Gardenia's direction then turned to Elfana for answers. Was that the person they were supposed to be battling against? This was awkward and she had no idea what to do! Elfana sighed, finally deciding to acknowledge Gardenia. "Are you the Gym Leader? I would like to limit my time in this city as much as possible so getting this over with would be ideal."

ElfyLeader GardeniaGardenia let out a shrill and excited squeal as the Turtwig had bestowed her with a boop on the nose. "You are just the cutest little thing!" She replied scrunching up her face as she did, practically vibrating with excitement. She stayed on the ground listening to the Turtwig's wise words, occasionally nodding and giving him 'uh-huh' as if his babbling words were very valuable. To her they were. However she heard another voice, one she understood, and in one swift motion sat up and her head snapped towards the Alakazam. At first she was surprised, which was followed by sheer delight. "Really?!" She questioned beaming at the psychic type. She turned back to the grass starter and scooped him up into a hug and snuggled her face into his. If he reacted in fear and snapped her with a vine it would be so worth it! "Thank-you-so-much-that-is-the-best-compliment-I-have-ever-gotten!" She replied speaking so quickly it was almost as if she tried to make it all one word. She heard another voice, causing her to stand up, still cradling the Turtwig. "Yes I am!" She replied, her excitement still present. "Is he yours? This is the most adorable little sprout ever!" She replied snuggling him again to reiterate her affection for the Pokémon. The woman clearly was not enjoying her time in the gym, even someone as gleeful as Gardenia was right that moment could see that. The Gym Leader took a deep calming breath, and nodded. "Okay! Lets get this show on the road!" She replied with a nod, turning away and began towards her side of the Field. She took two steps before she realized she was still cradling the Turtwig. She hesitated, but turned back grudgingly returning the adorable pokemon, setting him close to the challenger with an apologetic smile, as if to say 'sorry I didn't mean to steal your Pokémon, but I would if I had the chance' before turning back and jogging to her side.
She took a look at her opponent, and saw the Pokémon she already had out, Alakazam, Jynx, Cyndaquil, and the angel sent by Arceus. Especially with the challenger's temperament, She was going to have to put her serious face on for this battle. She pulled out a Pokeball, and sent out a Turtwig of her own. "Alright Turtwig, lets show them what we can do!" She told her Turtwig who was happy to be in battle, and nodded to her. "Lets start of strong! Use bite!" She called out as her own sprout began to charge the fire starter and latched on where he could trying to avoid where the flames would be.Turtwig Lv: 25 HP: 200 Gender: Male Ability: Overgrow- When HP is below 1/3rd Grass type attacks will do x1.5 their raw damage (type effectiveness included) Mega Drain- 40 | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt Bite- 45 | 3/10 chance of making the target flinch Razor Leaf- 40 Withdraw- Raises user's defense by one stage {Remaining Pokémon (Click)} Roserade Lv: 25 HP: 200 Gender: Female Ability: Natural Cure: The Pokémon's status ailments are healed when withdrawn from battle Grassy Terrain- Restores 1/16 max HP to all Pokemon and doubles the power of grass type attacks for five turns Weather Ball- 50 | Type changes with weather Mega Drain- 40 | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt Magical Leaf- 50 | Never misses {Battle overview (Click)} [Elfana sent out Liandry] [Liandry 85/110]

Elfana Aroway Pantalaimon could not have been happier with the hug. He did his best to hug her in return but his little legs made it difficult to hug her properly. Tiny Turtwig hug would have to be enough! He was unable to understand a word of what she said while she was speaking quickly but that was fine. That just meant he needed to babble fast too! He babbled on, struggling to keep up with her but feeling pleased with himself for getting close-ish all the same. If possible his face managed to light up even further when she acknowledged his trainer. He waved a foot in Elfana's direction, smiling brightly as he tried to describe her to Gardenia. "That's mine! She's really scary with other people but she's a good girl with us! She's pretty too! And she gives me lots of snuggles and she has my bestest friend with her! Cranberry roars at things and he headbutts lots of stuffs but he's super nice!" Pantalaimon continued to ramble on even after she set him down near Elfana. The doctor did not interrupt him. She allowed him to continue to explain his life story to Gardenia. Only when he had to stop to breathe did she speak up. "Yes. He is mine." A short answer felt sufficient. There was no need to draw the conversation out longer than necessary. She reached over and patted Pantalaimon's head when he decided to sit next to her. Liandry was going to battle and he wanted to watch! "You can do it, Li!" He wiggled from side to side, cheering on the nervous Cyndaquil. His enthusiasm was appreciated but it wasn't helping her nerves at all!
The Turtwig gasped when he saw the other Turtwig then squealed. New friend that looked just like him! He placed his feet against Elfana's thigh and began begging her to be allowed to play for a while after the battle. His trainer sighed. She didn't need to understand Pantalaimon to know what he was asking. "How long will it take to heal that Turtwig after the battle?" She hadn't planned on talking to Gardenia more than necessary but she didn't want to disappoint her Turtwig. Despite all of the talking she was doing she still hadn't bothered to look in Gardenia's direction. Her gaze was focused on her Cyndaquil. "Breathe, Liandry. You'll do fine." The Cyndaquil tried to calm herself...and then she was bitten by a Turtwig. She panicked but managed to avoid igniting the flames on her back. "Heat Wave, Liandry." Elfana ordered the Cyndaquil, not bothering to raise her voice as Liandry could hear her just fine anyway. The Cyndaquil broke free of the bite and unleashed a small burst of flames at the Turtwig. "Follow it up with Quick Attack before it recovers." Elfana had chosen the most effective route possible for Liandry. Maximize damage while minimizing her ability to make a mistake. The Cyndaquil charged the sprout, headbutting him with all her might...which ended up making her stumble back in a daze as a result. Probably not her best call. Elfana chose not to comment on this. Instead she smiled and called her Cyndaquil back to her, taking a few seconds to praise the Fire Type for her efforts before sending out Kiro to take her place. The Croagunk took over Liandry's spot on the field, looking every bit as happy to be there as his trainer was. He glanced around at the different plants skeptically and let out a low croak. This Gym was hard to look at.

ElfyLeader GardeniaThe Gym Leader wasn't too concerned about the opponent's short behavior, at least she didn't seem to notice it. Of course, she was willing to get on with the battle like she had asked, but that could have been because she had had a bad day. Definitely not because of her own eccentric behavior. The tomboy hadn't understood what the Turtwig had said but she hung on to every babbling sound. However it seemed that the challenger knew because she then asked how long it would take to heal her Pokemon after the match. "Just a few minutes really. If I play my cards right, I might not need to!" Gardenia thought she was really getting the jump on the Challenger with the bite. She had battled fire times before, so she wasn't too concerned for her Turtwig. Though her confidence was squashed as the starter broke free of the bite and blasted her turtwig with fire. She grimaced at the flames, but she wasn't worried, yet. The opponent called for another attack, which Gardenia was the opposite of the opponent's calm and quiet demeanor. "Quick! Knock him away with Razor Leaf!" She called out, knowing it wouldn't do much damage but it would at least make the attack faulter. But it was too late, the Pokemon knocked her Pokemon back. Proving the flames were indeed too much. "That was fast..." She stated quietly, the quietest she's been thus far. "Alright then, let's see what my next Pokemon can do!" She called out, letting out her Rose who did an elegant spin, and looked towards the opponent calmly. "Like she said, lets get it over with! Roserade use weather ball!" She called out. The flower held out it's hnad of a flower as a ball of white light formed and shot towards the fire starter.""Roserade Lv: 25 HP: 200 Gender: Female Ability: Natural Cure: The Pokémon's status ailments are healed when withdrawn from battle Grassy Terrain- Restores 1/16 max HP to all Pokemon and doubles the power of grass type attacks for five turns Weather Ball- 50 | Type changes with weather Mega Drain- 40 | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt Magical Leaf- 50 | Never misses {Battle overview (Click)} [Elfana sent out Liandry] [Liandry 85/110]

Elfana Aroway Aaaaand down went Liandry. Elfana wasn't bothered by this. She assumed she would need at least two Pokemon to get through this battle. She collected the Cyndaquil and began to examine her injuries, returning her to her Pokeball after confirming there was nothing that required her immediate attention. The Fire Type had dealt with her first Gym battle perfectly. Elfana was proud of her and she would make sure she knew it later. Liandry's Pokeball was stored away and two more were taken out in her place. She offered them to Pantalaimon and nodded towards the nearest plants. "Go play. I'll come back for you guys after I take Liandry to the Pokemon Center." She whispered to the tiny Grass turtle. He didn't hesitate to snatch up the Pokeball he recognized as Cranberry's and nudged along the Pokeball that belonged to the new Bounsweet with his foot. They were going to have so much fun~! Elfana looked over at Gardenia, debating if it was worth taking the time to explain herself. Probably. Pantalaimon wanted to play with the other Turtwig. "Pantalaimon wants to play with your Turtwig after the battle. The other two might enjoy the Gym. I'll return for them after I take my Cyndaquil to the Pokemon Center." She returned her attention to her notebook and continued to work on Liandry's new collar. Kiro didn't need her to give him orders. The Croagunk was perfectly capable of finishing the battle on his own. "Try to play nice, Kiro." The Croagunk let out a low croak, the sacs on his cheeks swelling as he stared down the Roserade. As "nice" as he possibly could. He wasn't about to let the Roserade knock him out.

ElfyLeader GardeniaGardenia's eyes were on the Turtwig as it scampered off to play, as if she longed to run with him rather ben complete the battle. However, she looked back to the young woman as she spoke again, stating her turtwig who had a rather strange name, would like to stick around a little bit while she healed her Pokemon. "Of course! You guys could stay all day if you wanted!" She offered the calm challenger with a beaming smile. He next opponent appeared, a Croagunk, cuasing her to go 'hm' in an interested manner. "This should be fun" She replied optimistically, despite knowing like fire, poison types were one of her many weaknesses. She did hesitate as she noticed the challenger not really paying attention, and working on something rather than battling. She didn't say anything but she did take note of it. "Alright Roserade. let's keep at it! Use Weather Ball again" She commanded excitedly. The Roserade spun elegantly and released a white ball of energy once again.""Roserade Lv: 25 HP: 200 Gender: Female Ability: Natural Cure: The Pokémon's status ailments are healed when withdrawn from battle Grassy Terrain- Restores 1/16 max HP to all Pokemon and doubles the power of grass type attacks for five turns Weather Ball- 50 | Type changes with weather Mega Drain- 40 | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt Magical Leaf- 50 | Never misses {Battle overview (Click)} [Elfana sent out Liandry] [Liandry 85/110]

Elfana Aroway Kiro took the attack without much complaint, shaking the worst of it off and ignoring the rest. He could worry about the few bruises after the battle. The Croagunk hopped forward, rushing the Roserade and slamming his palm into her chest. Poison leaked out from his fingers on impact, covering the spot he had hit. Kiro's attack lacked any of the grace or elegance of the Roserade. Form didn't matter to him. Taking out the Roserade as quickly as possible was the priority. He hopped back and croaked, bracing himself for the Roserade's next attack. All the while, Elfana continued to sketch away in her notebook. She had looked up briefly when Kiro had been hit but had returned to her work when she confirmed he was still fine. "Doesn't sound like you're playing nice, Kiro." She wasn't scolding him. If anything she sounded amused by her Croagunk's enthusiasm. Kiro croaked back at her, resisting the urge to look her way. He was supposed to be taking the battle seriously. "I'll leave them for about an hour or so." Depended on how long it took her to shop for what she needed for her project. "Maybe a bit longer." An hour felt like more than enough time for Cranberry and Pantalaimon to tire themselves out. The Cranidos and Turtwig were already busy playing hide and seek in the plants. The Bounsweet was watching from a comfortable distance.

ElfyLeader GardeniaThe next attack came pretty quickly as the Croagunk hopped across the field and slammed into the flower with a nice unhealthy coating of toxins. The impact would do much more damage than the poison itself, knocking her tumbling back. She rolled over backwards and onto her feet, looking down at the gunk on her chest with disgust. She used her feathered hands to wipe the poisonous gunk off of her and flicked her hands to get it off of her, unharmed by it. Luckily for her she shared the typing with Kiro. "Oh, He's just playing a little rough" Gardenia waved off, after the challenger commented on Kiro not playing nice. Gardenia didn't seem to agree, maybe just a bit of rough housing. But the look on the Roserade's face clearly meant she did not agree. The challenger then stated they might leave her Pokemon here for another hour or so after the battle. If Gardenia could light up any more, she would be a literal beacon of light."Okay roserade, put some umph into it, lets end the battle so we can get to the fun!" She called out eagerly. The rose huffed and charged up anothewr energy ball and blasted the croagunk with another weather ball.""Roserade Lv: 25 HP: 80/200 Gender: Female Ability: Natural Cure: The Pokémon's status ailments are healed when withdrawn from battle Grassy Terrain- Restores 1/16 max HP to all Pokémon and doubles the power of grass type attacks for five turns Weather Ball- 50 | Type changes with weather Mega Drain- 40 | Restores 1/2 of damage dealt Magical Leaf- 50 | Never misses {Battle overview (Click)} [Elfana sent out Liandry] [Liandry 85/110]
