 "A town nestled within the nurturing bowl of our many terraced farming fields."
The central western portion of the Galar Region is fruitful land that makes up for most of the region's bountiful farm land that deliver out to the majority of the region's markets. Miles and miles of farmland and fields spread out over the hill side landscape, and nestled within those bountiful fields and nutrient soil, Turffield Town can be found. Built along the natural hills and ledges that make up this part of the landscape, Turffield is green, and beautiful almost all year round. The natural stone archways that mark some of the pathways in the town are part of the wonder and majesty of the history that Galar is known for, including the mural on the famous hill in Turffield, depicting one of the earliest mentions of Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing that is a unique phenomena to Galar. Aside from its rich history and beautiful landscape, Turffield is also well known for being the first stop on a trainer's route since this is where the Turffield Stadium can be found.
{ Turffield Stadium (Click)}Milo is the official Gym Leader of the Turffield Stadium. He specializes in Grass Type Pokemon, and gives out the Grass Badge to any trainer who defeats him. Milo is a textbook case of a gentle giant. He was born the son of farmers, because of this he was raised under hard work. Because of this he was able to hone his strength and has been seen rolling Bails of hay in his stadium that way up to 770 pounds easily. Despite his size and strength, he is known for his gentle and laid-back nature. He often finds it difficult to give it his all against weaker opponents. He's also been noted that he doesn't care when he loses so long that both parties enjoyed and had fun with the battle. When he's not in his Stadium, he most like can be working on his family's farm rain or shine. He lives on a large plot of land with his family, which is home to many herds of Wooloo, who often roll out of the farm, on purpose or not. It's a common occurrence to witness Milo chancing after Wooloo along with his herder Yamper. Nessa has been on record stating Milo is her biggest rival in all of the Pokemon League, however he denies this and stats his only rival is himself. Milo's stadium stands out in comparison to the small and farmers town of Turffield. It's easily the largest buildings in the town. The building is large and round, held up with large green pillars. The building itself is a light purple, but with green accents and a large grass emblem above it's doors. inside it's doors is a lobby and waiting area. It has an area to heal up Pokemon, as well as sells tickets for on season, as well as a gift shop that sells Milo uniforms, as well as other color and type uniforms. The gift shop will even customize it with your name and own choice of number for a high price. There is doors leading straight into the arena for audience members. While challengers will be lead into a dressing room. This is where each challenger is given a challenger uniform of their choice of color and their own number. These uniforms aren't required during off seasons, but they are requested and encouraged. Once they are ready they are able to go out into the stadium. Off seasons trainers are given the option to tackle the Gym Challenge of herding wooloo from one side of the stadium into their pen, which they must do in under 5 minutes, while his Yamper attempts to scare them away. However this is optional. The stadium is open for anyone wanting to watch challenges and is free in off seasons due to smaller crowds in the earlier gyms. The stadium itself is rather large and open, which seems to accommodate any Pokemon. The roof is open rain or shine. {Rauri O'Riley || Tough Contest Leader (Click)} Name: Rauri O'Riley Location: Turffield Age: 16 Contest Category: Tough Personality: Aggressive, Loud, Ornery, Rough & Tough. Bio: Rauri was born and raised in Turffield to two farmers. She grew up working the tough jobs on the farm with her father. While she was an incredibly hard worker and didn't mind doing the dirty work, she wanted more. Once she began of the age to set out on her journey she took a running start. Setting off with her trusty Mr. Rime, she built a team and quickly got 6 badges, and then she competed in the Gym Challenge during League Season and made it to the finals before getting defeated. Despite being defeated, she felt that battling was just too easy for her and her Pokemon. Once she discovered Contests, she tried it thinking it would be easier, however she found it more satisfying to win. Once the Tough Leader had an opening she tried out for it and won the title. Despite being short and petite she is a very loud young woman. She never backs down from a challenge, and most don't challenge her to begin with. If her voice and strength isn't enough her heavy Irish accent usually scares people off. Situated on Kovu’s broad shoulders, Emiri enjoyed his open wingspan as Cerian busied himself with walking all over Kovu’s back and out on his wings in looking around at the new scenery. He had been enjoying traveling to the different parts of the world, and another new place was no exception. Emiri’s other Pokemon were intrigued with the travel, sweeping low enough to the landscape beneath them to see some of the unfamiliar Pokemon that were indigenous to the area. There was a particular herd Pokemon that seemed to be very prominent in the area, a small white wooly Pokemon that were incredibly abundant in some of the farming fields of the region, amongst others like an orange fox and a small yellow dog that Emiri had seen when in Motostoke.
Their next stop was far to the west, a town situated among rolling fields and sprawling hilltops, and beautifully lush with greenery and farmland. Turffield town was a quiet place, very rural now compared to Motostoke, much more similar to Wedgehurst, but in the center of the town was an enormously large stadium of sorts it seemed like. That seemed a bit odd for such a rural town, but she could swear she had seen the symbol that was on the front from somewhere already. Nevertheless, Emiri landed with Kovu and her Pokemon in the town and made her way into the Pokemon Center, greeting the Nurse Joy there and gaining her next stamp for the Galar Region. Elfana Aroway Why was she encountering so many farms? What had she done to be punished to this degree? The only thing that made Turffield slightly more tolerable than the last two farms was the stone archways. They at least were interesting to look at. Not enough to study but it was still better than the farms themselves. Pantalaimon was thrilled with the beautiful green landscape. If Elfana hadn't been holding him, he would have tried running through them. He settled for watching the scenery as they walked along instead. Being held and cuddled was more fun than running was anyway. There was nothing for Elfana in Turffield. She had no reason to linger in the town like she had Motostoke. With that in mind, she headed straight for the Pokemon Center. While she was there she could send a couple of things back to her lab. She no longer had a need for her parasol and she could send back some of the clothes she needed cleaned. They would take longer to get home than it would for Elise to get things back to her. While she got that settled, she gave Pantalaimon her booklet and sent him to get it stamped. The Turtwig was off and bouncing in front of the counter in an instant. He got to help! Haruka followed him, mostly so he could make sure the nurse noticed the Turtwig. He was impossible to miss but Haruka wanted to be sure. Most humans weren't exactly intelligent. After the booklet was stamped they returned to Elfana. She had finished sending everything back by then. She took the booklet from Pantalaimon, praising them both for their efforts while she put it back in her bag. After that they were off. They had one more town to visit in the area.Galar

 Grim headed over to the pokecenter and returned the reluctant Tokumei to her pokeball to get healed alongside his new Eevee. He still hadn't thought up a name for his new pokemon and did so as he waited at the counter. Eventually he decided to name the little pokemon Luckett, after it being his lucky encounter, and as he smiled at his choice the nurse returned and handed back his pokemon. With this, they were finally ready, or at least close to it. He swallowed and headed to the gym, part anxious and part excited. This would be his first, and hopefully only, attempt at Milo's gym. He had prepared his pokemon as best as he could, now he had to find out how far they had come. "Welcome to Turffield Stadium! If you want to challenge Milo you need to prove yourself and defeat me first, follow me!" Grim followed the girl through the doors and onto a large overgrown battlefield, the smell of flowers and fresh things thick in the air around him. God I hope Tokumei doesn't burn his garden down... That wouldn't exactly be the greatest first impression.
"Are you ready?" The girl's voice pulled him from his thoughts as she took up position on the field and released an oddish, clearly waiting for him. Grim took a breath to calm his thoughts and walked over to his side of the battlefield. With a nod to the girl he took a pokeball from his belt and tossed it, releasing Tokumei in a flash of red. Silently he was thankful she waited for him to release her rather than just popping out on her own.

MochaThe battle won against the gym trainer, Avery gave way for the challenger to prepare for the challenge against the leader Milo. The stadium was open, quiet mostly, a few stragglers who were there just to sit and watch Milo have a training day with his Pokemon, but always open and welcome for those potential trainers looking to start making their way into the Galar League. Milo got word of the prospect of his challenger, and he bid his Yamper to clear the field of the Wooloo from his farm that he often had hanging around with him, both for company and to keep the grass in his gym nice and trimmed. Milo smiled, fixing the brim of his hat as he'd turned to meet with his challenger, a small Gossifleur flouncing around on the ground beside him.
"Hey there! I see you had a good time with Avery, welcome to the Turffield stadium," he welcomed, a soft smile playing on his features. He was always humbled getting to help new trainers take their first steps into the league, he really enjoyed being the first stop and the first badge to potentially earn.
"Take your time to heal up or get ready, Gossifleur and I will head over that way, and we'll be ready when you are," he offered gently, waving along his Gossifleur as the two headed towards one end of the stadium.

Grim watched as the gym leader made his way over to his side of the battlefield. This was it. He felt confident after beating the gym trainer rather easily. Despite her bad temper and anger, Tokumei really was strong and a capable fighter. With her and Moc by his side he was sure he could win this! He glanced at the charmeleon who stood waiting for battle, her flaming tail lashing back and forth as if impatient. Honestly he couldn't tell if she hated fighting or loved it, she was so hard to read. "Alright Tokumei, let's hit them hard! Use ember!" Tokumei growled at being told what to do, but she obeyed with another lash of her tail, parting her jaws and unleashing a blast of flame at the Gossifleur.

MochaHaving started towards his spot on the battlefield, Milo noted the fire type Charmeleon that the challenger had brought with him. He was impressed, having a Charmeleon already spoke to the tenacity of the trainer in training something to work towards evolution. He had a feeling that he might not exactly stand too much of a chance against the fire type, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to have fun with the match. After all, that was his job as the first leader, opening the door no matter the pathway that leads to the door. He just wanted everyone to have a good time.
"Alright Gossifleur, let's have a good time today," Milo spoke to his grass type, and within moments the battle was started. The challenger called for an Ember attack, and while it seemed that the Charmeleon might not have the best listening attitude, it did still follow through and fire off the attack towards Gossifleur. The grass type recoiled, Milo knew it was going to be a hard hit as it would have been against ice or other such types, but his partner wasn't out yet.
"You're already off to a great start! We're gonna keep going though, Gossifleur let's get in there with Rapid Spin," Milo remarked, and the flower composed itself before rushing forward with a series of grass blades that it whipped up to create a spinning vortex to strike.

As the grass type rushed her Tokumei braced herself with a vicious snarl and took it without hesitation. She shook herself and stomped her foot, baring her fangs and snorting a puff of smoke as if saying it would take more than that to take her out. She prided herself on her strength. There was no way she would loose to a plant!
Grim smiled at Tokumei's spirit and gave a nod, he was behind her one-hundred percent even if she didn't want anything to do with him. He could deal with being hated so long as he could help her. "Great start! Use ember once again!"
Tokumei glanced at Grim and gave another snort of smoke, but she obeyed. After all, she wasn't stupid. She knew fire was the best offence against a grass type. With a low growl she rushed foreword to close the distance before releasing a bellow of flame at the flower pokemon.

MochaWhile his Gossifleur did manage to get in a good hit, and he was proud of that all the same, Milo knew that his Gossifleur could only give so much against a fire type, and he didn't want to push any more than he knew the flower was truly capable of, it was only fair. The Charmeleon used the proximity to get in another good Ember attack, and Milo knew his Gossifleur had given it its all. He smiled and returned his Gossifleur, looking out to his challenger as he took out his next pokeball.
"You're definitely on the right track to make it far in the league, hopefully this first battle helps you work some things out with your Pokemon to really get things going," Milo offered as he released the Eldegoss out onto the field, his next Pokemon to keep things going.
"Eldegoss, it's your turn, let's get ready for a really fun time."

Grim felt his worries melt away as Milo recalled the Gossifleur. He was winning! He knew he still had a lot of training to do with his weaker pokemon to get them all up to Tokumei's level, but he was beginning to realize that he had been stressing more than needed. Maybe he really needed to learn to trust his pokemon more. "Alright Tokumei, you've earned a break. Come on back and let Moc take it from there. You did great!" Although he had a feeling his praise wouldn't reach her, he said it anyway. Tokumei looked over her shoulder and stared at him for a long moment, long enough to make him worry she would refuse, but then she turned and stomped back over to the sidelines with him. Although she did stand a few feet away from him and gave a grumpy huff. She hated Eldegoss.
Grim withdrew a pokeball from his belt and tossed it into the air, and in a flash of light a snowy white Noibat appeared. Moc let out a few happy little noises before landing on the battlefield and taking on a more serious expression. She was ready! "Alright Moc! Hit 'em with Heat Wave!" At her trainer's command Moc jumped into the air and stretched her wings out to either side of her. With a powerful beat of her wings Moc suddenly sent a blast of flaming waves at the Eldegoss.

MochaWith his Eldegoss out and ready to keep going with the battle, Milo watched as his opponent too took a moment to switch Pokemon. The Charmeleon was returned, and a Noibat was released, a Pokemon he wasn't unfamiliar with. Raihan always had so many different kinds of dragons, and it was easy to follow and learn a little bit about them since he was so passionate about his work with the type, so at least Milo knew that Dragons were powerful. However, as the Noibat was released and the challenger called for a new attack, it seemed that the dragon had just a little bit more umph than he might have realized. His Eldegoss was entirely consumed in burning flame with the powerful heatwave attack that swept over the field, and in one fell swoop, the grass type just couldn't take another step. Milo nodded, he understood and knew that he shouldn't push the battle any further, his challenger had won fair and square.
"Hey, that was a fun match, yeah," Milo smiled then as he'd returned his Eldegoss and started to move his way across the field towards his challenger.
"You've definitely got what it takes to keep going, I think you're really going to be able to grow with your Pokemon, so long as you take the time to do so," he commented, digging around in his pocket for a moment before being able to procure the badge that he'd gotten ready upon being notified of a challenger beforehand.
"Keep doing what you're doing, and I think you'll have a very bountiful journey ahead of you," he finished with a nod, holding out the badge for his challenger to accept.

Grim grinned as Moc executed the move perfectly. The time he had taken to help her learn it had been worth it, not that she had needed much help. Moc was a fast learner and seemed to enjoy learning anything she could. He knew it would come in handy on their journey. As the match ended Moc let out a joyful cry and flew back to Grim, landing happily on his shoulder and nuzzling his cheek affectionately. In return he gave her a few gentle pats and a smile before making his way to meet Milo. "Thank you, sir. We learned a lot." He really did. He had been so worried about not being strong enough for their first gym that he had barely even slept the night before. But now he had a good idea of his pokemon's strength and a little more confidence in himself as a trainer. He accepted the badge and pinned it on the inside of his jacket to keep it safe for now, he'd put it in a case later once the adrenaline from the battle wore off.
Tokumei followed Grim and stood a few feet behind him, watching Milo as if she expected the man to suddenly attack. Not that she really cared if the man attacked Grim, but her next meal could be delayed if the boy got seriously hurt and that would be an inconvenience. She let out a snort of smoke and eventually walked up to Grim, jabbing her pokeball roughly with a claw and vanishing in a flash of red.
Grim blinked at where Tokumei had been a moment before and smiled apologetically at Milo for his pokemon's rude behavior. Moc on the other hand seemed to be chirping something to Milo of which neither would understand. Grim scratched her under the chin and she quieted, letting out a little purr-like sound. "It was great battling you, thanks again for everything." Grim dipped his head respectfully and took his leave, a broad smile on his face. He had won his first badge!

Grim finally arrived back in Turfield and smiled as they made their way down the lane. Not long ago at all he had taken on his first gym here, somehow managing to defeat Milo. It had been his first taste of being a true trainer and a major confidence booster. Although he hopped it wasn't making him over-confident. He was distracted from his train of thought by a sudden sound to their right, and as the group looked over into the field they noticed an electrike gunning towards them with a snarl. Lvl 14 Electrike Appeared!

After their run in with the Electrike Grim decided to make a quick stop at the pokecenter. Ronin was beginning to look rough from his training and Grim didn't want to push him too much. They entered the quaint little building and approached the desk, Grim giving the nurse a friendly smile. He returned Ronin to his pokeball and handing it over before taking his seat in the waiting area. Raika hopped up onto his lap and Luckett curled up at his feet watching the door that the nurse had taken Ronin through. He wondered if the Leafeon was worried about his friend. It wasn't long, however, until the nurse returned with Ronin and they were sent on their way. For now he kept Ronin in his pokeball to rest and continued on with Raika and Luckett by his side.

Grim made his way down the lanes and headed towards the outskirts and the road that would lead him to Hulbury at last. He was debating whether or not to train a little more in the mine beside Hulbury before taking on the gym, or just winging it now. He knew the smart thing would be to train more but he was impatient. Granted, he still had a while before he would have to make his choice. For now he walked on and continued on his journey to the next gym.

MochaMilo returned his star player, Eldegoss. However he didn't seem to be disappointed or upset by his loss, he seemed just as calm as he did when he entered. Milo made his way across the large fields to meet the opponent. He clearly wasn't intimidated by the other tall male or his Pokemon he had out. That being said, he wasn't puffing out his chest either, merely happy to have gotten to battle the opponent. He gave the white haired male a friendly smile, as he reached for the badge to give him. "Your Arcanine is no joke. He really did a number on my team." Milo complimented the opponent, he held out the rewards and badges for him to collect. "Keep battling like that, and you'll make it through the league in no time." Milo told him with a nod. Milo wasn't exactly a push over, but he definitely was more than willing to give out a compliment. He knew even though it was a fire type, not many Pokemon would be able to survive that long in battle, especially against a Dynamaxed Pokemon. He had even defeated him without Dynamaxing himself. Slate flashed Milo a friendly smile and met him in the middle of the field. Frankly he couldn't care less what the man had to say about the battle, and he accepted the badge without giving it much thought. To him Slate had failed horribly. He had told his pokemon there was no room for failing here, yet Slate had still tapped out. As a fire type he should have easily been able to take on the two grass pokemon.
"Thanks." Was all he said before giving a smirk and heading off towards the exit to continue on his way. Internally he was angry and wanted to get to training as soon as possible. Even after he had taken the time to evolve Slate the pokemon was still weak. It was walking on thin ice.

 Minako "Skye" Afton The Only Living Afton Theme Song/Battle ThemeMinako exited Galar Mine and entered turrfield with a smile on her face. She had won every battle she was in so far and was on cloud nine. However, she knew she shouldn't go straight for the gym and instead decided to look around for more things to do.
