Nevermind the rocking of the barge that was making her ill to her very core, Emiri was struggling to keep her footing beside Marcellus steady was firm splashes of water washed up onto the surface and waved across the metal, sloshing back into the ocean behind them. There was nothing to hold onto, nothing to use to steady themselves save for the railing, and Emiri worried that her stiff as a board self wasn’t going to help Marcellus any, but she just couldn’t bring herself to move… She was petrified, she’d never seen anything like the Lapras, but really she’d never seen anything like what was on this island… It was just another terrible reminder of the human and science influence, the greed that these people fed on to make these Pokemon with so little regard for what their ventures meant. This was a Pokemon that shouldn’t exist in today’s world, it was extinct for a reason, like all fossils were. This beast, this monster, was living, breathing and knew nothing of its place in the world, and so was lashing out just trying to make its mark and find its place. And it was going to be judged, just like everything else here…
Another shake of the barge made Emiri blink away the fuzzy haziness of her thoughts, she was getting lost in the depth of it all just like she feared for the water just beneath them, and she clung to Marcellus ever tighter. She just wanted to go, she wanted to leave, she just wanted to be anywhere but here… But Marcellus said Josette wouldn’t be able to take them as the Jynx too struggled with the thrashing barge. And Cronus…? In spite of the roars and the attacks and the cries of other Pokemon and the sloshing of water, Emiri was close enough to Marcellus clung to his arm that she could hear him, and Cronus wasn’t even here…? She wasn’t sure how she felt about that, it wasn’t as if Cronus belonged to her or had any purpose to aid her, but to know that Cronus wasn’t here with Marcellus, that he was only watching and waiting until something truly terrible happened…? What was the point in that, what reason did Cronus have for being gone like this… And why did she feel like it mattered to her? Cronus had saved them the last time they were in peril together, beneath the crumbling remains of that mausoleum, but she didn’t expect that of Cronus then, this time should be no different…
”B-but… Why, why won’t he…,” Emiri trembled, she couldn’t understand, what was Cronus waiting for, why wasn’t he there? But her voice was drowned out again as the Lapras roared over them. In almost an instant she felt the temperature around them drop, it was drastic, sickening, Emiri instantly began to shiver against the cold air and felt herself cough at the change between the warm tropic air to a dry freeze. The Lapras reared back, and before Emiri could do much to react, Marcellus pulled her in tighter and closer to the ground and put his parasol in front of them to prepare for the inevitable.
Up above, Charizard volleyed her attack at the monster to try and… Well she wasn’t quite sure what the goal was, would they be able to stop something like this? It was so massive, so giant, it didn’t seem like any of their attacks did anything to even phase it… It would take a lot more than just the handful of them that were out from their Pokeballs right now. Between Emiri and Marcellus, they had a lot of strong Pokemon, Charizard knew that Emiri had along some of their strongest teammates, and where was Cronus in all of this, why wasn’t he out with Marcellus? She wasn’t sure what they could do, but being separated from Emiri like this wasn’t ideal, they needed to start thinking of what they could do together, so Charizard swept down from the air to make her landing on the barge when the Lapras reared back and released the ferocious blizzard. Between the force of the wind and blasting hail and the surface of the barge turning to slick ice within seconds, Charizard did land as she was unceremoniously knocked out of the air the rest of the short way due to the striking hail, and the force of the blizzard wind slid her across the surface of the barge. She slid and hit the railing on the edge, breaking it and nearly slipping into the water. In trying to orient herself she dug her claws into the icy metal and caught a hold, and before much longer the wind subsided.
The dragon’s scales cracked as she broke the ice that covered her wings, the rest began to melt and drip away from the heat of her ferocity. She shook off the excess moisture, steam rising from her orange scales, but before she could determine what to hit the monster with next, it dove into the water. Charizard hesitated, standing herself upright, she looked off to the side, still a little ways away from her was Emiri and Marcellus who had tried to fare against the ice, she could see Emiri shivering, the ice that stuck in her hair…
”Emiri,” the dragon called, but not before there was a hefty crash at the sound of the Lapras striking the barge from below. She stumbled on her feet, flaring her wings as she tried to steel herself against the sudden jostle, but she began to slide again as she was forced backwards from the force of it all, and the Lapras finally breaking the barge into pieces.
Hanging onto Marcellus for dear life now, Emiri clung to him in panic as the barge lifted from the water and came crashing back down, only to come crashing back down with a giant splash and wave of water. Being closer to the edge of the barge, the water splashed and surged and Emiri was effectively soaked at this point, but it didn’t much matter as the Lapras roared again, forcing the broken pieces of the barge apart. She was struggling to keep herself upright as the icy metal beneath her feet had only just started to melt, and tears stung in her eyes from both the salt water of the lagoon and the intense fear of the moment. The Lapras roared and lurched in the water, shaking the miscellaneous pieces of the barge, but Emiri’s eyes went wide in panic at the monster’s enormous figure breaching out of the water entirely. She braced for the worst, she wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but as she screamed into Marcellus’ arm, waiting for the worst, she felt a claw grab the side of her arm and the all too familiar feeling of being lifted and rushed into the air.
As soon as the Lapras broke the barge apart, Charizard lifted back into the air and was frantic at this point. She needed to do something, anything, and she needed to do it fast, and she had very few options. The dragon watched everything as if it were in slow motion, watching the monster breach into the air. It wouldn’t have been her first choice, but clearly there was a reason why Emiri and Marcellus were still struggling to stand on the barge that Cronus hadn’t teleported them away, she was the one who had to make the move. Maybe it was due time for repayment, or maybe it was going to be a mistake, but Charizard had little choice but to grab them both. She rushed through the air, splashes of water washing over her scales and hitting her wings, but she did not falter, not even as water sizzled and hissed against her tail. The Lapras had breached and the end result was sure to be catastrophic, but Charizard swept in and grabbed both Emiri and Marcellus as they stood huddled together in her claws and in that instantaneous moment they were lifted from the barge.
Heading directly due east away from the center of the lagoon, Charizard could see the beaches in sight and just made headway for the first direction she managed and had no intentions of stopping. Once they got to dry land they could understand how to move forward, but she needed to get Emiri away from the water, and she needed to get Marcellus out her arms. She’d never once laid a claw on him, this wouldn’t have been her first choice, and she only hoped that he would take this in stride and understand there was little else for her to do, but she saw the way he always looked at her and regarded her… She didn’t have any other options. Charizard’s wings plus the stiff coastal breezes made the flight effortless and quick as she rode the wind, and before much longer she was on the edge of the beach. Charizard landed, kicking up sand with each flap of her wings before touching ground, and from there she was able to set the bundle of Emiri and Marcellus on the ground.

buggygardener  Leader RoxanneEverything happened all at once it seemed. They were in battle, but they clearly weren't making too much headway. While she was a very seasoned trainer, and knew most every Pokemon well, especially fossils... She was very nervous in this battle. Going into each battle, she was able to predict how most any battle would go on paper so long as she knew the Pokemon a head of time. Of course, that wouldn't stop her from trying her hardest in battle, but she's seen and studied so many she found it easy to predict. She had been surprised many times before, and proven wrong, which she is aware that every Pokemon is different. Like the fire breathing Floette, and what ever the lillipup had, there were rare surprises but like them, it was rare. This... She was unable to draw any knowledge from her studies because this was entirely new. She hadn't heard of this massive beast. She hadn't even gotten any meaningful information from the aquarium. This battle wasn't looking good for the trainers or themselves. She was still keeping herself save behind her given protector Odyss, but stepped out from behind him as the Lapras dove back underwater. She hadn't anticipated that. With it's submergence she once again was covered in water, but that was the least of her concerns. She looked over to Clemont wearily. The lapras was winning, why would it run? But her question was answered very quickly as the barge was rammed from below. She couldn't help the shriek that escaped her mouth as she lofted from the barge, and came tumbling back down on it's hard surface. She looked up frantically to find her Kabutops and Probopass had taken the blow okay. She attempted to get back up but was knocked back over as the barge was shoved in the water once more. The pieces began to separate as the Lapras rose back from the water and forced them apart. "No!" she shouted as she got to her feet. her mind now going a mile a minute. The barge was going to sink leaving everyone to drown or be eaten. But it would seem Grace had a plan as she moved forward getting its attention as the larpas knocked them once again. She was grappled by her Probopass as it used it's magnetic energies to pin itself to the ground and held the Gym Leader in Place. Using it's mini noses to help keep any trainer around them safe as they coasted to shore.
Once the Barge came to it's sudden stop, Roxanne was able to return her Kabutops as her Probopass helped her down as well as any other trainers that might have needed it. With a few more bumps and bruises added to her previous injuries from having to battle the prehistoric Pokemon in the Aquarium, she had fared very well to quiet a bit more of the other trainers. However Roxanne couldn't help but look out over the water and look guiltily at the smoking barge that the Lapras had been attacking. She had tried to help save their guide but in the end they had failed. She couldn't help but feel guilty but what brought her out of the cloudy thoughts was the familiar voice of one of the trainers from the barge. Survival 101, she couldn't dwell on the past yet. They needed to assess and reevaluate. She looked to the woman from the barge, who also had came out alright. Quinn had hoped she was alright and apologized for her behavior. Roxanne unconsciously rubbed her shoulder, the one that ached after having landed on it. "Oh, yes, I'm okay. My Pokemon kept me safe," She commented toward her probopass. "Are you and your Pokemon okay? That Blizzard was nasty" The gym leader asked her. While she and her Pokemon had looked alright visually now, she wasn't sure. Her chinchou seemed to have taken the worst of it. After Quinn moved on to her introduction and apology, the gym leader couldn't help but glance back toward the barge still out in the lagoon, but then shook her head towards Quinn with a small smile. "Tension was high for everyone, and we all acted according to what we thought was best. There's nothing we can do about our previous actions but just move forward." Roxanne spoke trying to smooth over what issues they might have had together. "It's a pleasure to meet another woman of science, Quinn." She added. Normally Roxanne would introduce herself, never expecting anyone else to already know her. His parasol did little to keep out the sheer force of the attack, causing the lace to get torn and rip in many places. But Josette was able to block most of the hail and shards of ice whistling through the air at them. But she couldn't protect them form the frigid air. Marcellus looked up once he was sure the winds had subsided, and found Emiri still clung to his side, as ice had begun to cling and freeze to her hair. He stood up, pulling Emiri upright with him as he put his parasol away again but kept it close just in case another blizzard was started. Shortly after the Lapras then let out another bellowing roar and then dove into the waters, causing a large wave to wash over the boat, soaking them all once more. At least it had washed away most of the ice with the warm waters. "It's gone, Emiri, see?" Marcellus commented, almost willing the Lapras to actually have been gone. It didn't make any sense for the beast to leave, Marcellus knew this, but he was very hopeful that was the last he would see of the monster. "Something isn't right,"Athena warned as she began to back away form the side of the barge. Marcellus was using his wishful thinking, and hoping it was true. Athena was not as hopeful. It would appear that she was right as the Barge lurched from below. Marcellus yelped as both he and Emiri were knocked into the air with the Barge, using each other for support as they had come crashing down. Athena had stuck the landing in a kneeling stance to keep steady, as Josette fell to the ground screaming in a mess of hair and fabric. With another large surge of water drenched be two, Marcellus put an arm around Emiri as he tried to force Emiri away from the railing. The ship below them began to groan and wail as damage had clearly been done. The lapras moved and shifted in the water as she knocked the barge apart, Sending the two stumbling. Where was Cronus? Why hadn't he stepped in yet? The barge was about to sink and they would be left in the water to fend for themselves against the beast. Marcellus had now begun to panic. Their only chance for survival now was to flee, and if Cronus wasn't around to teleport them, he would have to rely on Josette. But with one glance to the psychic proved she was not in a clear enough mind to teleport them off the barge. He wanted to move, but had no where to move to. No where to run. This must be how it felt when playing chess and your opponent called checkmate. Only instead of a fun game, he was the king piece. XXXXXMarcellus didn't know what to do as the barge shook and shifted beneath them. The idea of asking for Emiri's help or her Pokemon's never crossed his mind. It wasn't even faintest idea, sure maybe he could fly off on Lynno, but the bird was never really fond of anyone but Emiri. But what happened almost brought him even more fear than his checkmate, and sent him over the edge of the feeling of panic he had been experiencing. Suddenly the cold air around him was now warm as scaly arms reached around him. He glanced down to see the muscular orange arms he was all to familiar with seeing, but had never had the displeasure of touching. His reaction was completely instinctual, as well as the feeling he felt was as if he had touched a hot stove, even though he felt no pain. He tried to recoil away from the arm immediately. Tightening his grip on Emiri as he tried to yank back and away from Charizard's embrace, but found no where to go."What do you thi-" He let escape his mouth as suddenly the barge falling apart was no longer the problem or the fear, but the dragon holding him was. He had now been the one to have gone completely ridged as he attempted to keep the charizard's arms from touching him. But he hadn't been able to finish his question as they were lofted upwards into the sky. Marcellus couldn't bring himself to make a noise as he began to kick his legs, not in an attempt to kick Charizard or Emiri, but to find the ground that was well below him now. Marcellus found himself wishing to take on the Lapras once more, as what he would describe as the bane of his existence was holding him high above the water. One of the things that had killed his father in cold blood was holding him tightly against her chest. Marcellus stole a glance down to see that they in fact were high above the water, and now headed for land, but even this wasn't a soothing thought as he was in the grasp of his biggest fears. He couldn't bring himself to look up to her face, but as he stole a glance to her scaly torso, he could hold in any longer as he let out a cry of fear as he clung to Emiri. He knew there was nothing he could do but ride it out until they reached shore. The seconds felt like minutes as they coasted to short, and soon his feet were on the sand. As soon as she released him, Marcellus collapsed onto his knees as he scrambled to get space between Charizard and himself. Normally, he knew she would never hurt him, at least while Emiri was around. But now he was in a state of fear and needed to create distance. Once he was a few feet from her, he stopped and remained where he was on his hands and knees, shaking, and trying to catch his breath and wits. Once he thought he had them, He reached back with a hand, unable to look back. "I-You...Don't-" He muttered, still unsure of what he really wanted to stay, clearly having not had his thoughts together. He shakily got back to his feet, adjusting his vest before turning back with a deep breath. He opened his mouth, but before he could say anything his eyes fell on Emiri, causing him to close his mouth. The tongue lashing he had prepared was quickly bottled up by seeing the fragile young woman. He knew Charizard had only been trying to save him, and successfully had done so, but he was finding it almost impossible to set aside his feelings to see this. He made an efforts, but all he was able to muster was"You understand my sentiments." Which was as close to a thank you as he could get to a Charizard, even if it was Emiri's. XXXXX On the barge, after Charizard whisked both Marcellus and Emiri away, Athena was thankful. She no longer had to worry about the two frail humans, knowing they were now safe in Charizard's arms. The electric type had seen that be beast's attention had been drawn away by the front half of the barge. She had to grab Josette, and keep her safe. The Jynx was struggling in the pooling waters as her thick dress was heavily weighing her down. The electivire made a run for the Jynx and was able to scoop her up as the tidal wave hit the barge and sent it sailing for shore. The motion knocked Athena back wards and off of her feet as they were sent to land. All she could do was hang on and hope for the best, seeing as they were headed to where they needed to go. The moment they suddenly stopped, the two were sent over the edge of the barge. Josette let out a scream as they twisted in the air. They landed Athena first as they created a nice divot in the sand, but still safe and sound. Athena stood up, and let the soaked Jynx down, her hair and dress once again deflated from it's once grand appearance. "Oh, thank you, Athena! " Josette chimed happily as she made her way towards the trainers. Athena walked with her and as they approached, she walked past Marcellus. She was aware of his fears, but she didn't fully understand them, Charizard wasn't the one that had killed his father so why had he been so afraid of her? "Thank you for getting them off safely. I don't think I could have gotten them and Josette off safely with out it" The electivire thanked. She knew she couldn't have helped Josette if she had rescued Emiri and Marcellus, which could have ended fairly badly for the Jynx. Tonya had managed to land on the piece of the barge that mattered. She yelled out in furious panic as she scrabbled to cling to a twisted hunk of metal. She snorted and slipped off the barge into the sand below once they crashed. Dana accepted the help down where her Tepig soon sprinted over to greet her trainer. "Dana! you're OK! I was so worried!" Cried the Pokemon, leaping into Dana's arms while the woman looked out into the lagoon where Lapras and Grace had gone. "Grace..." You stupid idiot. She did her best to on the waterworks but there was a bubbling rage underneath the facade. What kind of heroes were these psychos! She turned sharply away from the water and hurried into the undergrowth to compose herself. "I-I'm sorry...!" She choked out, struggling to keep her voice under control. Tears had successfully slipped so she could claim she was upset about losing their guide as she ran off to seek solace in solitude. Hiding in the trees was a good cover. She didn't notice creeping cold at first while holding Tonya, but Tonya shivered from the icy malice emanating from the source of a freezing mist nearby. Dana was too buys berating Grace with barely managed whispers. She wanted something to let her anger out on but that wasn't happening. Not until she could truly be alone. A low hiss and tinkling from ice crystals forming and falling shook her out of her seething. The Sword of Ruin, Chien-Pao, had run off from stalking other prey to find something truly interesting. This human was full of malice for, from a moral standpoint, no good reason at all. The snow leopard's icy blue eyes shimmered from a shadow under some leaves. "H-hello..? Is somebody there?" She called out, suddenly very aware of how alone she was and how Tonya was already worn out from battling Lapras.
Chien-Pao stepped out of the shadows, heaving another slow, chilling breath as it looked over Dana and her Tepig. At least the human was worth keeping. Her Pokemon may need disposed of at some point. That was a concern for the future. Chien-Pao moved cautiously, pretending to be uncertain even after the display of malicious energy and power enough over cold to freeze air around it. Dana was cautious herself, finally reaching out to touch the creature's head. The cold was a sharp contrast to the warmth of Tonya's body. Chien-Pao released a rumbling growl that sounded like it was trying to purr. It hadn't experienced any form of affection before, the Sword could get used to this. Dana couldn't help the smile that formed as she continued to pet a monster. She didn't know what the Treasures were, but she at least had the sense to recognize a malicious creature. The fact it was sucking up to her was both terrifying and thrilling. Surely this couldn't backfire in any way! "My name is Dana. How would you like to come with me?" She offered, producing a ball that made Chien-Pao flinch away at first. It didn't like the sound of that initially. Being imprisoned was not an enticing offer. Still, the beast eventually nosed the ball and let itself vanish into the device. A good place to stay when it needed respite. And it had to convince others it wasn't some kind of threat. Those that didn't know what it was, at least. would think it was a particularly unique-looking Ice Type and it was happy to let others believe it for as long as possible.
Between having that short period to gather her thoughts and acquiring a new Pokemon that made her feel like everything would come under control soon. She forced a weary smile as she stumbled upon the loud ginger girl. Tapu Fini was plenty to draw attention even without the bombastic nature of the Miles girl. "Uhh, hello! Are you...OK?" She asked, managing a much better facade now that she was dealing with someone she didn't recognize. Default script of the charming bimbo trying to buy some good will from strangers. "I'm Dana. Griswold. And you are...?" She offered with a slight hand wave, holding it up in case the girl was into that sort of greeting. She had to get back to the rest of the group soon or they might wonder about her. Maybe. She wasn't sure anybody actually cared about her or her presence so far. She hadn't exactly done much to warrant attention. Faithe looks at the woman approaching her and smiles glad to see someone else. She was still very worried about Grace and hadn't been anything to help her when everything went crazy. She walks towards the woman and waves rather excitedly in response. "Faithe Miles!" she responds brightly. "I'm... fine as far as I can tell. just... Wet. AGAIN. and proven right about boats as well. they are evil awful no good very bad things." Faithe states as Tapu Fini wheels around her in the air and looks at this unknown trainer with a sort of haughty aloof expression as she took in the presence of this new woman. After a little bit Fini must have decided she was acceptable as her more casual bobbing float restarted and she uncrossed her arms and floated about casually once again. "Uh... did anyone else end up in this area? I sorta like, blacked out for a bit when the boat came apart." Faithe states as she looks around behind Dana to see if maybe there was someone else behind her.

Roxanne seemed pleased by Quinn’s gestures and acknowledgment. She said her Pokemon were fine and wondered if Quinn’s were as well, also admitting the tensions were high previously, so she didn’t fault Quinn for her actions but did appreciate an acquaintance like Quinn. “My Pokemon faired alright and I am certainly glad we are all in one piece,” Quinn responded as she looked down and patted Sakura’s head.
With Roxanne now addressed and seemingly in good favor, Quinn now took a moment to take note of the others that also seemed to have landed on the same part of the beach as them. A Charizard had dropped off a couple earlier, but Quinn now saw that it was a young woman and man, the man dressed fairly well despite the clothes now being sullied from their time on the boat. She was glad she had the foresight to change into her active clothes before everything had gone awry as the couple looked uncomfortably wet. There appeared to also be another pair on the beach as well, two young women, one with fiery, red hair and the other of a larger build. This second pair didn’t seem particularly interesting or noteworthy.
Quinn surmised that the second pair wasn’t worth wasting more time on the beach, but the first pair may be of interest at some point. Still, she didn’t find them interesting enough to bother to leave Roxanne and properly introduce herself. Rather, she concluded it may be better to avoid all of them for the risk of the primal Lapras returning still being quite high. She looked back at Roxanne, “Well, now that the barge option of escape is gone, I am planning to search the nearby area. I don’t think staying here on the exposed beach so close to the ancient Lapras is a good idea. We are sure to find items of more use elsewhere on the island. I honestly wish I had simply used the car I made adjustments to on my own to get to wherever Grace wanted us all at… Though, perhaps if we get back to it, it may still serve of some use. You are welcome to join me if you’d like, though I do advise you find somewhere else besides this beach to hide from whatever else is hiding on this island even if you don’t join me,”

 Church groaned and opened his eyes, squinting them at the watery light filtering down through a crack above him. His head rang painfully as he reached up a hand toward the darkness around him, a confused jolt shooting through him as his hand knocked against hard scales. Suddenly, the darkness around him began to move and a bright light exploded into view as it fell away. Church threw up a hand to block the light and blinked as his eyes adjusted to the sudden change. What had happened?
As his mind cleared, Church remembered fighting a fossil bird pokemon with two girls. When the beast had finally fled, the two girls, and some woman he didn't know, had taken off. Church hadn’t bothered following. One look at Lilith’s stance and he knew there was no chance she could keep up, and yet returning her to her pokeball and leaving himself without his greatest asset just to follow them didn’t seem exactly worth it. Instead, Church had headed off in the other direction with Lilith after returning Rowl to his pokeball. The last thing he remembered was entering an alley between two attractions and then nothing but pain and darkness.
Church raised a hand to touch the side of his head and found it covered in dried blood. Fun. He sighed and glanced around, slowly piecing together his surroundings. A foot from his left hand lay a chunk of brick from the wall above him, and the dried blood decorating one corner answered at least one of his questions. The other… Church glanced to his other side and noticed Lilith for the first time. The Tyrantrum had been the darkness enclosing him when he first woke up, giving him cover from any enemies while he was unconscious. She was now crouched over him and eyeing him with a mix of relief and suspicion.
Church slowly got to his feet and stretched, feeling a little lightheaded, before looking himself over and applying some first-aid thanks to a kit he had rummaged out of an attraction nearby. Once the worst of it was taken care of, he slowly made his way to a nearby washroom and used the taps to wash the dried blood from his head and torso before bandaging his injuries and setting back out. As he made his way carefully down the street, he swiped a green and black T-shirt off of a mannequin at one of the carnival attractions and pulled it on over his head gingerly.
He wandered around the park for a while before he noticed a distant commotion barely audible to him. He stopped and closed his eyes, listening to the sounds of what seemed like crashing waves and groaning metal. As he opened his eyes and looked toward the sound, he recognized it was coming from the bay nearby on the other side of a thick strip of trees. Sounds like a ship hitting something... an attempted escape? Curious, he found a path through the trees that allowed Lilith to follow and soon found himself at the edge of a sandy beach. In the distance out on the water, smoke billowed into the air from something that looked like a chunk of boat. Similar chunks were beginning to wash up on the shore, as well as what appeared to be other trainers.
Church remained in the shadows of the trees at the edge of the woods, not exactly hiding but not moving out into the open either. He was most likely visible to anyone actually looking around, especially with Lilith's large head hovering in the shadows above him, and was in no hurry to expose himself just yet. Instead he watched a Charizard fly in with two more trainers and narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. So far, he could only see one other man, the rest were mostly weak-looking women, besides maybe the brunette that had come in on the Charizard. Either way, this development didn't seem as useful to his situation as he had hoped.

She hoped she could just forget the whole altercation on the barge, she had seen them at their absolute worst and hopefully now that everyone seemed to be at least safe, the worst is behind them. Roxanne nodded and smiled hearing that her team made it out alright. "I'm happy to hear that. I'm glad to hear any good news really." she stated with s sigh. it would see both her and Quinn took a moment to take in the trainers arriving. Two seemingly upset trainers who had been brought in by a charizard, another trainer she had seen help Grace, as well as who her Probopass helped steady on the barge. There was a Red head, and another male emerge from the tree line which she found odd. But she was relieved to see so many people and Pokemon Okay. Roxanne looked back to Quinn when she spoke, having lost faith in the original plan and planning to go off in search for the automobile and other items to help. "Oh," She let escape from her mouth in confusion. "I was planning on gathering everyone we can, and still head to the place Grace mentioned." She commented looked back to the direction they were originally headed. "I figured without Grace, Clemont could hack his way through any access areas, or the rest of us could punch our way through." She explained, it seemed like the direct route to her. Roxanne was pretty straight lace and by the books. While, busting down a wall wasn't exactly by the book. A plan was placed in front of her, and she figured she could make it happen. "While it is unfortunate, we don't need Grace to pilot a plane. Just Clemont, and possibly other suitable trainers or Pokemon that could help." Roxanne explained to Quinn. Grace was just the means to get there faster. Now that they know it's their... Clemont could do his computer thing, or she could bust through with her Pokemon or with the help with the trainers. "Your plan does make sense, but I was hoping you could come along and help?" Roxanne asked the woman. She was clearly intelligent. Roxanne may have personally interrupted their planning, and in the beginning they were hitting basic topics, but they were able to sit still and crunch it out while the battle was commencing. As soon as the pair were set down on the ground, Charizard prepared for the worst, and for a moment, she thought she was right… Emiri sunk to the ground, her eyes wide and glazed over, knowing that they’d nearly been thrust into the water and still battling with the weight of what this place meant and how much she despised it all, but for that moment, Charizard’s focus and concern wasn’t on Emiri… it was on Marcellus. The moment she released her hold on the two of them, he fell to his knees and did whatever he could to get away from her, he was frantic and the look on his face was abhorrent, like she was the monster instead of the Lapras that had almost killed them all… She knew that he didn’t like her, or any of her teammates like her, it was clear in the distance he always kept from them, but dislike was different than pure fear, pure hatred, and it was palpable.
The dragon opened her maw, as if to say something, but… What could she say that would amend what had just transpired? She wasn’t going to apologize for saving him, and she certainly wasn’t going to apologize for being herself, for being something that he so clearly hated… But even still, why did she feel like she needed to say anything at all? She wasn’t sure why his frantic reaction had hurt her as much as it did, but if she thought about it she was almost saddened that even in spite of her saving his life, he couldn’t take that in stride and understand what she was trying to do, what she always did? Emiri never once dismissed Josette or Angelique, or leered at the Gardevoir if she got too close, and she’d only ever shown gratitude to Cronus for saving her when he had before, or helped her with her nightmares… Why could Emiri put her fears and biases aside for the sake of Pokemon that she was familiar with and knew had her best intentions in mind, but Marcellus couldn’t afford her even a fraction of the same kindness…? She had never given Marcellus one reason to believe that she would hurt him and she was always civil in knowing how he looked at her, she would never push the matter… But in this time of haste, with nothing else that she could do, she was still a monster in his eyes…
Charizard did nothing as Marcellus finally regarded her, with a pittance of any actual gratitude, instead she turned away from him knowing that there was nothing else she needed to do. She blinked for a moment, as if she had something in her eye, and steeled herself as she moved towards Emiri who was still frozen in the sand. The dragon reached down gently for Emiri’s shoulders and moved to stand her up, and the suddenness of the motion did make Emiri flinch, but she started to blink away the haze and foggy far off stare from her eyes as she felt Charizard’s claws around her.
”Hey, we’re okay, we’re on the beach now,” Charizard eased into bringing Emiri’s focus back, and Emiri coughed at taking in a firm breath for the first time in what felt like hours. She’d been stone still next to Marcellus as they stood on the barge, her entire body felt stiff and sore just from how tense the situation was, nevermind her injuries still and the deep blue and purple bruises that began to show on her arms and shoulders from the ice that struck them. She was beaten and battered, but Emiri stood up a bit straighter now as she came to, looking up to Charizard as the dragon settled her.
”Thank you Charizard,” Emiri spoke with a quiet, tiny smile, it was all she could muster for now as she still tried to push away the terror of the open water she’d almost succumbed to. Charizard stood up straighter as Josette and Athena had made it to the beach, and Emiri moved towards Marcellus who was still on the ground. She hadn’t had much mind to pay attention to anything other than keeping her deepest fears at bay before they consumed her in that vulnerable moment, so she could only assume that he was as shaken about nearly being shipwrecked as she was.
”Marcellus, are you okay? Did the ice hurt you,” Emiri questioned then, she was meek still, and stiff in her movements, but right now she just wanted to make sure that her friend was alright so that they could start working out how to get off of the island now.
Letting Emiri go, watching her move towards Marcellus, Charizard had to hold back a snuff of smoke as she swallowed an ember. She knew the only reason that Marcellus didn’t say outloud what his face made clear was for Emiri, but somehow, that didn’t make her feel any better. He was saving face for Emiri’s sake, but was it for Emiri, or for himself? He and Emiri were very close friends, she knew he cared for her, but if he said even one thing that he wanted to say out loud, Charizard and Marcellus both knew that Emiri would never look at him the same again. And on her side, as much as she was starting to really see his true colors, Charizard knew she could never take Emiri away from one of her closest friends, someone who didn’t need to ask questions and could just accept her for who she was and the things that she’d experienced. She had such a hard time connecting with others, isolating her would never be the right answer, even if it was from someone that truly thought she was a monster…
The dragon turned in the sand only just, starting to survey the area around them and the other trainers that had washed up on the beach, when Athena moved towards her with thanks. It almost caught Charizard off guard, as if she assumed that all of Marcellus’ Pokemon would share the same regard as him, but Charizard was at least thankful that someone didn’t see it as if she’d just accosted him.
”Uh, yeah, you’re welcome… Not sure why Cronus didn’t take care of him, but at least we’re on dry land,” Charizard mumbled, still unsure as to why the Mewtwo wasn’t in tow like he always was, he could have saved both Marcellus and Charizard the immense discomfort of this entire interaction.

White Prince Of Wonderland rooker buggygardener Faithe MochaGiven the proximity to the beach, the rich soil, the open tropical air, and the mists of sea water from the lagoon, it was no wonder that surrounding the sandy beaches of the lagoon was thick, lush tropical forest and foliage. It was as tall as it was expansive, and would sure be the perfect environment for the bugs and grass types that would soon find their way to a proper spot on the island as the many now free roaming Pokemon were sure to move around and explore until they were settled. Vines hung from tall trees and wrapped around trunks, palm leaves as big as a table hung down like ds, and every shade of the color green made up the vibrant tropics around the beach.
The beach was a bit crowded at this point, but only just as the trainers and their Pokemon that had made it to the north east of the center of the lagoon had found their way to this section, the theme park and its amenities were in the far distance on the other side of the thick foliage and trees. Thus far, aside from the waves and the occasional breeze that blew through the trees and leaves, things were quiet. Not too many Pokemon seemed to be in the area, perhaps not too many had made it out that far yet, but a stray Carnivine did loft over the sand as it skirted around the edge of the treeline. It paid no mind to the trainers and Pokemon that were milling about in the sand, instead it moved past the tree trunks and its leaves idly brushed against a stray vine or branch.
One particularly large leaf stood out among the others, it seemed to have spines or thorns around its edges and didn’t look like it hung down from any one tree in particular. The Carnivine came up against this one leaf, only just brushing along its corner as the grass type were going to continue on its path, but at that gentle, and oh so subtle movement, the corner of the leaf began to curl upwards and inwards. Within seconds, the Carnivine got swept up by the motion of the leaf, while from the tree trunks other such leaves began to move in sync as if they were coming together, and there was a giant, lumbering movement that came from within the tree trunks. A rumbling thud shook the surrounding trees, and the Carnivine disappeared into the confines of what one would have thought to be an impossibly large carnivine, a venus fly trap, but instead an enormous and impossibly tall figure rose its head from the tree line, the leaves made a trap around its neck as they remained closed.
From the trees, a bellowing roar came, and looming over the beach was what could only be loosely described as a Meganium, if it weren’t for its jarring appearance. Its sheer size was enough to discourage assuming it was just a Meganium by nature, but it seemed like it was almost entirely entangled in thorns. All around its neck and the venus fly trap leaves was a thick bramble of thorny vines that wrapped around and entangled themselves, going up most of its neck and draping around its shoulders. The antenna on its head were longer and adorned with thorns to match, and it had brambles wrapped around both of its back ankles to match the spikes that went down its lower back and tail. Perhaps one of the most striking features were the long, sharp, and almost gleaming claws that came from its front feet, scratching the ground it walked on with each lumbering step, and as it moved to stand at its full height, the leaves around its neck began to unfurl again, revealing nothing wrapped inside.

Roxanne seemed pleased to hear that Quinn’s team also faired well, which brought Quinn satisfaction. She was a bit surprised by Roxanne’s counteroffer to her plan suggesting that the two of them work together to gather the other trainers and collectively travel to where Grace intended to get everyone. Quinn could help but frown ever so slightly at the thought of introducing so many unknown variables into the equation of escape. She knew she could rely on Roxanne, but knew nothing of these other trainers and, only after Roxanne began talking, did she notice a shady figure peering through the treeline with what appeared to be a Tyrantrum.
Quinn looked down at Cyan for a brief moment, thinking about how Roxanne’s idea was technically sound, especially with there being safety in numbers. “The plan you are suggesting may be our-” Quinn began before being interrupted by an unsettling rumble from the nearby forest.
Quinn and her party looked away from Roxanne in the direction of the disturbance. To their dismay, a large, lumbering figure towered above the canopy and seemed to be walking toward the group of trainers on the beach. Just like the ancient Lapras, Quinn couldn’t exactly tell what this thing was, but it appeared to be like a monstrous Meganium but without any of Meganium’s friendly traits. ‘What other titans did they concoct in the labs on this island?!’ Quinn thought to herself.
She was a bit annoyed at herself for letting her interest in Roxanne delay her departure from the beach, but then thought better of it and realized she may have walked straight into this beast had she left sooner. “Despite my initial hesitation, I think you have a point about us remaining in groups for safety in numbers. I would gladly assist us in getting to our destination assuming we make it off this beach in one piece,” Quinn said as she began scanning around for the best route to put space between the new beast and her.
She quickly realized that they were still far too close for comfort to the water and the leviathan and it may be difficult to coordinate everyone to run along the beach away from the creature with such short notice, especially with several of them still looking quite rattled. It seemed they would all have to fight once more. She hoped everyone had at least gotten a good enough grip on reality to prove useful in this fight.
Sakura, Cyan, and Lux were also displeased at the sight of a possible new assailant. They had hoped for at least a little reprieve from the day's adventure, but it seemed like one was not in sight. Cyan had readied himself in front of Quinn, now between her and the beast. Sakura also stepped around to be in a similar position. Having not mega evolved in a while before being in Quinn’s party, she had forgotten about the extra confidence her stronger form gave her. She had already managed to save her friends with her quick thinking on the barge and she was not ready to let inaction leave them in harm’s way again on this island. Lux joined the other two but placed himself in the front. Being the only one of the three with ranged attacks meant he could attack with the least risk. Plus, he was eager to shake off the slight chill he had from being frozen earlier.

As Church had been considering his options, yet another wildcard came into the equation. He noticed it first by an odd sensation of the thick jungle at his back being far too quiet to mean anything good. He glanced to Lilith and his thoughts were confirmed by the soft rumble that echoed in her chest as the Tyrantrum scanned the trees around them. Something was nearby, but what? He didn't like the sensation of being the pray rather than the hunted, but he knew there wasn't much he could do himself in his state. Too much movement would likely open the stitches in his head and side, and that could be it for him. Especially considering the heat and pain that was coming from the injury in his side, which was no wonder considering it had been open for a bit in a tropical environment full of only Arceus knows what.
Church knocked his fist against Lilith's thigh and the Tyrantrum crouched low beside him in response, sticking out one of her small arms to give Church a place to step as he carefully swung himself up onto her broad back. Just as he was settled, commotion broke out down the tree-line and Church glanced just in time to see a Carnivine get snatched by something plant-like a mere twenty feet down the tree-line from where he and Lilith stood. A moment later, a monster rose to disentangle itself from the foliage, forcing Church to make a decision on what to do next.
As much as he did not want to risk further injury, he couldn't convince himself he had a chance to get off the island alone. The trainers here proved there had already been at least one attempt to leave, maybe more, which meant Church was dangerously behind on knowledge of the situation. Not only that, but none of the pokemon on him could swim nor fly, meaning he had to find another way. He needed the others, he just despised that fact currently.
With a deep breath, Church made his decision and spurred Lilith forward out into the open to join the others. With a quick glance he made a guess on who was the easiest target for the beast and guided Lilith to stand between the monster and two girls together on the beach, a pudgy girl and a girl with ginger hair. Then he reached for his belt and plucked two pokeballs from it, tossing one ahead of him and the other behind him.
The ball he tossed ahead flashed in a gigantic blaze of red light before fading to reveal a large black onix with odd glowing blue runes covering it's body and a large sharp horn adorning it's snout. It looked around coldly before fastening it's gaze on the monster by the trees and letting out a roar of challenge. Church had been saving Rune until he really needed him, so the Onix was still bursting with energy despite the long chaotic day. Rune was finally allowed to fight, and he wanted nothing more than to do so.
The other ball Church had tossed behind him released Rowl, whom obediently took up position near the two other women nearby without being told what to do, a brunette with pig tails and a tall broad, just incase they needed cover. Church wasn't worried about the girl with the charizard nor the other white-haired man near her, figuring the Charizard would be able to pull it's own weight and protect them itself.
"You two ladies alright?" Church called down to the pudgy girl and ginger, keeping his voice light and friendly despite his growing frustration at how this day was progressing. For now, all he could do was play nice and try to trust these strangers to help him escape, somehow.

With her team ready to spring into action, and knowing she could at least rely on Roxanne, Quinn felt they would at least be able to escape this new creature. Suddenly, it appeared the trainer hiding in the shadows came to assist the group as well. He rode in on a uniquely melanated Tyrantrum, tossing out a couple of Pokeballs that released an awe-inspiring Onix with blue runes on its body and a Toxtricity, the latter of which moved between the two science buddies and the monster. Though in a tense situation, Quinn did appreciate being able to see a Toxtricity. It was one of the Pokemon she was particularly fond of. She didn’t have time to question who this was, but he seemed to be on their side for the time being.

While he was clearly scared of Charizard, he fully understood she wouldn't ever actively hurt him, or even attempt to touch him unless in the case of an emergency. After knowing the dragon for well over 2 years by this point, they had never actually touched each other. They seemed to have an understanding with each other, he wasn't sure if Cronus spoke to her. But they made an obvious wide birth around each other. Like Marcellus did with all of Emiri's dragon Pokemon. Of course, Marcellus made sure all of the Pokemon were well fed, and thankfully outside. But he never visited them Like he did the rest of the Pokemon. Marcellus most likely would have tended to Lynno sooner then the other dragon types if he would let Marcellus get close enough. But Marcellus had come to understand the Pidgeot's temperament and leaves him alone with the rest of their Pokemon. Outside. Even with them being on his literal door step, he could keep a distance to them which he could ignore. Now he couldn't ignore the experience after being grabbed and lifted through the air. He could still feel Charizard's hard scaled against his back and side. He couldn't help the fact that he was still trembling which made him all the more angry that he couldn't just shake it off. He looked around himself as more trainers were gathering. He couldn't continue to act like this. He tried to take a deep breath and shake his panic and fear. He heard a voice behind him, which startled him back out of his thoughts. He couldn't help but recoil and turn around much quicker than he had intended, looking to Emiri. He knew he had to rain it back in. "No-No, I think I got just a few nicks from the ice. Josette blocked the most of it." He explained, having to think back. He spoke in a forced calm voice, and a very forced smile. He had gotten a few scratches, and tears in his clothes from the few bits of ice that got past Josette. But he couldn't feel the sting with his current emotional status. XXXXXAthena listened to the Charizard speak. In all honesty, they hadn't had much interaction with each other. But the Electivire had quite a bit of respect for the Charizard. It was hard to ignore the sheer feat that she had accomplished. She seemed to appreciate the thanks but comment on Cronus's lack of appearance. "Who knows where that stick in the mud is." Athena commented with a roll of her eyes. Cronus was all powerful of course, but Athena always thought his approach to things were much to complicated. After this Josette drifted forwards gingerly. "Well, from what I understand, He is off working on his own adventures and tasks he needs to complete for himself. " Josette commented as though she were treading lightly. While she heard this information, apparently what ever the actual mission was, it was much too important for them to know. She agreed with Charizards unspoken sentiment and that the mewtwo should be here. "He said though that he is watching, and if either were going to get hurt he would intervene before it happened?" She added, though she wasn't confident that Charizard would like it. "If that's true, maybe that just means he trusts you." Athena shrugged, assuming if he hasn't already been here, he trusted Charizard to get them to safety. If he was watching surely he would have seen Charizard intervene as well. "Oh, yes! There's a group over by the barge. Are you sure you're OK? We could--Oh. No." Dana was trying to be eager to match Faithe's energy but that went away when the Meganium popped up. At least, it looked like Meganium to her. She threw her Pidove out to battle the giant flower monster. Grass Types were weak to Flying Types, weren't they? She could only hope it was a Grass Pokemon. "Uhh, we should probably do something about that!" She called out to Faithe, not like the ginger would be missing anything with something so massive! The other trainers were close enough she felt safe doing something from where she was. They could protect each other in the worst case scenario. Or, at least, the others could protect her. A white-haired male Dana hadn’t noticed originally called out to them and she offered an uneasy wave to him as a way of indicating that she was alright. “We’re fine over here!” She called out to the man, hoping that was all she needed to give back.

While Roxanne was confident that this woman would be able to help, if she would choose to do so, she just wanted to keep everyone together. There was a certain power in numbers which was true, but she was mostly worried about what would happen to those going off on their own. There were Pokemon who never truly had human interaction out on the island, They might be learning their two abilities. As well as if there was that monstrous Lapras, Roxanne was afraid their might be more giant Pokemon lurking out there. The group of trainers had been growing, now there were two white haired males, The trainer that had helped Grace who was with a redhead, and another young trainer with a Charizard. Quinn seemingly was ready to agree with her until there was a commotion in the tree line. She turned with Quinn to see the a very tall Pokemon that almost looked like a nightmare of a Maganium. "What... What even is that?" Roxanne commented almost in horror. Roxanne did not want to fight this thing, running into the tree lines would be entering its territory, but running down the beach would be too open. Once it had locked on them, she knew the only way out was to battle. It would seem that the trainers were up for a fight, as well as Quinn. There was another Onix, which she considered adding hers to the fray, but she didn't want to throw him out against this thing. What could she do anything a grass type of this size? She made the only choice she could, and threw out her Armaldo. Her own Fossil looked around himself and spotted the giant Pokemon and readied himself. "Get ready big guy, we're gonna have to hit with with everything we have." She called out to the Pokemon who took a readied stance. Soon another Pokemon appeared near by, a Toxictricity. She glanced back to see one of the white haired males set the Pokemon out seemingly as protection. She was almost offended. This was the second time a trainer had thought she needed protection. First with Odyss and now this Pokemon. However with another look at the beast, all of her offenses went away. Her own Probopass floated near by to help protect the two trainers, as it's mini-noses whirled around itself ready to take action. Faithe looks to Dana "I'm from Littleroot town." she announces with a smile, if she wasn't wet she probably would have hugged Dana, but she wasn't going to share the 'fun' of being soaking wet again. She was about to say more when someone spoke to the both of them. she was processing what to say in response when something absolutely awful appeared from the trees. what had to be the most awful Meganium anyone had ever seen. She nods in response to Dana and was about to try to think about what to do when Teriyaki burst free from her pokeball, and hit the ground releasing a screaming stream of fire at the meganium.

White Prince Of Wonderland rooker buggygardener Faithe MochaRaising up to its full height as it moved out of the trees, the monster bellowed as it stepped out onto the sand with a heavy thud of each step it took. Every movement, every motion that it took from turning its head, taking a step, or moving its neck, each motion was deliberate with force because of how heavy and how thick it seemed. In spite of knowing what the Pokemon could be related to, there seemed to be something different in its eye as it looked down and loomed over the group of trainers and Pokemon, something insatiable, almost predator like, but clearly with its size and weight it had no capability to hunt. Its vines and thorns shook with every lumbering step that it made, creating large holes in the sand with each foot, and it bellowed down again at the group of figures on the beach.
The monster took one more heavy step forward before it stood still for a moment, gauging its movement, then it started to turn on its feet in the sand. The sheer force and size of its movement created a heavy amount of momentum as it swung its body weight, sweeping over the sand with its tail and striking the Armaldo that stood out on the beach. It made this giant, sweeping motion a couple of times back and forth and then began to stomp its heavy feet, shaking the very sand beneath it and sending trembles through the ground. Its tail started to strike the ground, sending sand and rocks flying in showers and sprays every direction, it was clear that the monster was trying to stun and disorient everything in its wake using its great weight and power.

Doing her best to pull herself together, Charizard remained where she stood, claws sunk into the sand and mindful of her tail so as not to make any glass on the beach, but she still made an effort to keep turned away from Marcellus’ direction. It wouldn’t do anyone any good if she continued to be as upset about the situation as he was, at least one of them had to move past it and move on for the sake of getting off of the island, and if he was too consumed by himself to do it, then she would have to swallow her hurt and keep moving forward.
The dragon looked up a bit more at Athena moving past her and Josette sloshing onto the beach in her wet dress, and the Electivire’s words surprised her about Cronus, they didn’t know where he was, so that meant he wasn’t here? That didn’t make any sense to her, Cronus was always here, always with Marcellus, they were connected in a way that she would never truly understand, but to know that Cronus wasn’t with them now and that was why she had to save them… It didn’t even make sense the same way that knowing some of her team was still at Marcellus’ home, Cronus was a Pokemon that could be wherever he wanted, whenever he wanted in the blink of an eye without effort, and he wasn’t here?
”What do you mean he’s off doing something else? Isn’t his human being in danger enough to even want to be here,” Charizard questioned, she couldn’t fathom it, she had to wonder what Zaron was having to do with the rest of their team for all of them not to come flying here or forcing Nimbus to teleport them all, that was what the solidarity of their family meant to each one of them.
”Does he even care about any of you? How selfish do you have to be,” the dragon snuffed, she was almost snarling at this point, she’d never heard something so absurd. She knew Cronus was different, he was something that she would never truly understand in the world, but he was a Pokemon, and he had a trainer… Did that mean anything to him? His blatant disregard for all of them being in danger and needing to get off of this island as their lives depended on it, Charizard also couldn’t help but be personally upset. If he was here, Marcellus wouldn’t be making her out to be some monster that attacked him in cold blood?
”Wait, wait a minute, he’s watching what’s going on here, and none of this merits him being here? If Azuran even had the slightest idea of what was happening here he’d fly here on one wing beat, I just… And you’re okay with this,” Charizard really couldn’t believe what she was hearing, she couldn’t even accept this concept that him not being here meant he trusted her? She already trusted him, in spite of herself, she gave him Emiri’s unconscious body in that mansion with the intention to keep fighting, she wasn’t just going to leave if she had something more important to do? She was fuming, and she couldn’t decide what part of the situation she was more mad at, that it sounded like Cronus didn’t care, or that he forced some interaction between her and Marcellus in that way, or any combination thereof… She was at a loss for words, she didn’t know what to make of any of this or why she felt like it mattered, but it was all put out of her mind as soon as the leaves in the trees snapped up a Carnivine and something started to move towards them.
Shuffling through the sand, trying to ignore how much the scratchy sand and drying salt water was bothering her raw legs, Emiri had moved towards Marcellus to make sure that he was alright too. Of everything they had experienced together, it was unfortunate that she could say this wasn’t the worst of it, but she still really hated boats and being out on water… And no one could have predicted some giant prehistoric monster like the Lapras… Marcellus was standing almost upright as she’d approached, and she flinched too as he recoiled a bit at her, but she couldn’t blame him, the situation did take a dire turn they hadn’t been prepared for. She looked up at him as he kind of inspected himself, Emiri’s own emotions were shot at this point and there was no way she could discern anything really, but Marcellus just felt different at the moment, and she couldn’t quite place it. Even when they’d come face to face with the Lapras and understood the gravity of the situation, he hadn’t felt like this then, so why did he feel like this now that they were on dry land and away from the monster?
”What… What do we do now? That lady is gone, I don’t see her? This isn’t where she said we were going,” Emiri asked after a moment, looking around the beach, there were so few of them now, compared to how many trainers and Pokemon were on the barge before, they all got washed up on different parts of the beach it looked like. She sighed again though, looking down at the sparkling sand…
”Marcellus… Why do people do things like this…? Why is it okay for them to make Pokemon who aren’t supposed to be here any more, and then… And then they’re upset when the Pokemon just try to defend themselves,” Emiri questioned, she just couldn’t shake it any more, she couldn’t ignore the burning question, it was Azuran, it was Racion, it was Tilayro, none of them asked to be here, none of them asked to be put together by science, and then they were made out to be monsters when they started to think and act for themselves… She didn’t understand it, she didn’t see a reason for it… She loved Azuran and would care for Racion with all of her heart, but if they’d never been here in the first place, they wouldn’t have to know their pain…
She hadn’t been paying much mind to their surroundings, she was just trying to understand what they were supposed to do next, so when a very large rustling sound came from the trees near them, Emiri startled a bit when she looked up. The trees began to bend and creak at something moving among them, and with a few, thudding, rumbling steps, they were faced with… Well, she wasn’t sure…
”Not again… We can’t keep doing this…,” Emiri shuttered, she didn’t want to know how many more of these monstrous Pokemon were on the island, how many things they’d made by science… Did this thing even know what it was? Emiri looked out to the Pokemon as it rumbled through the sand, and she knew that Charizard was getting ready to step forward, but she couldn’t bear it, Charizard had done so much on the island already, she wanted her to rest…
The dragon glared up at the creature that stood before them, it shook the very ground they stood on with each lumbering step, but she wasn’t going to let it get any closer… Until she looked back to Emiri, she could see her panic, her concern, she was looking right at her, and she didn’t need to say much…
”Emiri, I-Don’t do this,” Charizard huffed, but Emiri already shook her head and Charizard moved back quickly towards her. She knew now wasn’t the time to argue, she could at least keep Emiri safe if she wasn’t in the heat of the battle… But most of all, now, she didn’t want to be responsible for both of their safety…
”We have help, I don’t want you to get hurt, you’ve done everything for us while we’ve been out here,” Emiri said, and in spite of her bedraggled self, her glazed eyes, and her terror over the water, she was stern, she meant it, she wasn’t going to change her mind. It wasn’t fair to any one of her Pokemon for them to be responsible for everything that may take place when they were trying to survive, and she wasn’t going to let Charizard put that pressure on herself again. The dragon wasn’t placated, but she had to swallow her pride and push past Marcellus’ disgust of her. If Cronus wanted to put his own trainer at risk, then everyone was going to have to deal with the consequences of that decision.
The giant Pokemon bellowed down at them, and it started to shake and stomp on the ground, kicking ups and and dirt, and Emiri ducked into Charizard’s wings to keep from getting hit by anything. She stumbled within Charizard’s figure, the Pokemon had such power behind it, she was afraid of what it would do if it actually got a hold of one of them, so she knew she needed someone fast, and someone who would avoid behind grabbed at all costs…
In the midst of all of the rocks and sand being thrown around, from beneath Charizard’s wings, Emiri threw a Pokeball as high into the air as she could to try and get above the debris. The pokeball made it into the air and as it opened, Lynno emerged and rose into the air on his wings. It was already pandemonium, and he rose higher in instinct to get above the sand and rocks in the air, looking down to find Charizard amidst it all.
”What are we doing,” the bird called down, looking around and he stopped at the sight of the impossibly large Meganium that towered over the beach. He almost stopped flapping his wings altogether, falling a bit before he caught himself in the air.
”Yup, you’ve got it, get in there,” Charizard roared back, shielding with her wings still, and the bird huffed as his neck plumed a bit.
”Alright, great, a giant thorn bush,” he huffed, but he didn’t hesitate, he couldn’t now, knowing that Charizard and Emiri were putting him on the front lines. The bird pushed with his wings again and soared into the air, getting himself well out of reach from the debris and swinging tail of the Meganium. He splayed his wings in the air, facing the monster, and the feather tips of his wings began to glow green. With a flap of his wings, a series of green energy raced through the air like ribbons, individual strands stemming from each feather of his wings. The ribbons were pointed, like arrows almost, whizzing through the air, and as they streaked through the sky they struck the Meganium individually, making his first attack.

Church watched as the titan pokemon thrashed about, throwing up sand and debris over the trainers huddled on the exposed beach. Lilith shifted to try and block the worst of it from hitting Church and the two females apparently now within her protection, her thick hide deflecting the debris much like a solid wall. She gave an irritated low growl as the sand sprayed her jaws and face, the feeling of the tiny rocks caught in her fangs only adding fuel to her growing rage.
“Keep kicking up sand and I will rip off your legs, stupid plant!” Lilith spat angerly in a rumbling voice, though despite her threat she remained obediently where she was. Enraged or not, she dared not move closer to it with Church on her back. She was fast for her size, but she also was currently injured, and those whip-like thorned appendages would be a huge danger for her trainer if she failed to dodge fast enough. Her master already stank of blood enough to worry her deeply, her first priority was to make sure he survived this cursed island.
Rune, however, had no such responsibilities. He drew himself up as heigh as he could and glared at the monster. It was perhaps as tall as he was long, but seeing as he couldn’t raise himself up to his full length, it still towered over him easily. The proud onix wasn’t used to looking up at his enemy, and this only spurred his fury. Ignore me, will you? Rune let out a sound similar to grinding stones before slamming his tail into the ground in the direction of the monster. At once, sharp glowing blue columns of stone erupted from the ground in a line heading straight for the monster’s exposed side.
Church watched silently, giving Rune the freedom to attack however he deemed appropriate. He was aware his pokemon had the disadvantage in this scenario, assuming the monster in front of them was still a grass type, but he had little choice. Lilith was injured and also a rock type, and Rowl… well, he wasn’t about to trust such an important fight to the weakest pokemon with him. For now, Rune would have to manage.

Roxanne was shocked by the sight of the beastly creature. She and Quinn had no more time to chitchat, so Roxanne had sent out her Armaldo, as the possibility of this creature being a grass type put most of her other Pokemon at a noticeable type disadvantage. The lumbering behemoth managed to whip its tail around in the direction of the Pokemon and trainers on the beach much faster than any of them had anticipated. Roxanne’s Armaldo was the chief recipient of this blow, taking considerable damage and being knocked back a fair distance. The monstrous Meganium then began to slam its tail into the ground, causing rocks and sand to fling into the air and fall onto those on the beach.
Quinn and Cyan raised their arms arm to shield their faces. Lux tried to use his lures and fins to block the sand too. Sakura rushed over to Roxanne’s Armaldo to see if he was alright, offering to help him up. Though an ice-type move like Lux’s Blizzard would seemingly do a lot of damage to the ancient Meganium, assuming it was at least a grass type if not also a dragon type, the high chance of it also hitting the Pokemon of her newfound allies was much too high. “Cyan, I need you to use Venoshock in hopes of at least momentarily distracting that gargantuan beast!” Quinn said to her Croagunk.
Cyan took aim at the creature and sent out several blobs of poisonous fluid, trying to fulfill Quinn’s request. Quinn was honestly a bit doubtful they could do much to stop the tail assaults outright, but she hoped it is at least noticeably weak to poison-type attacks, presumably being part grass-type. She was also aware getting too close to the behemoth would put any of them in danger, so employing a similar strategy to targeting the leviathan Lapras by using ranged attacks first would be best.

Safe to say, he wasn't exactly successful when tried to shake off his fears. Emiri seemed to fully realized the situation at hand, one that Marcellus wouldn't mind shielding her from. Asking where Grace was, what the plan was now."I'm sure everyone is okay, we've just all been separated. As far as I'm concerned the plan is the same, we just need to get there" Marcellus explained. He assumed the plan was just the same, get to the facility and fly out. However, Marcellus was fully aware of Grace's sacrifice. But he didn't need to let Emiri know this. She continued on to ask the much bigger questions. A question that he actually was glad Cronus wasn't here for. He knew it was a very touchy subject for the Psychic legendary, and would avoid at all costs. Marcellus took a breath, and looked down to her, trying to calm himself but still not fully succeeding. "I don't know what compels people to do such things, studying I would suppose? But aren't you glad they had on the brighter side of things? " he asked her, not so much to ignore the bad side, but trying to explain the brighter sides. "If they didn't, you wouldn't have gotten to know Azuran, we wouldn't have any of Roxanne's fossils, or even Porygons, or Cronus. We wouldn't have gotten to meet any of them. It's a second chance of life, or even just a chance of a life to begin with." Marcellus tried to explain and distract from the worst of the worst they were experiencing. But what pulled them from their conversation was the arrival of the beast Josette had already stepped forward for the battle, while Marcellus kept Athena at his side. While he couldn't exactly tell if this thing was pure grass type like a modern day Meganium, He could easily guess poison or dragon type duel typing, but he couldn't send in an electric Pokemon against a grass type. She was going to help protect him, much like it seemed Charizard was doing the same. The beast moved and went to strike hitting the Armaldo, and then it began to create a make shift sand storm. Josette out front was readying for battle. With Lynno, an Armaldo, Croagunk, Blaziken, weird looking Onix and even the Pidove, she felt confident they were able to knock it off the beach. Marcellus left her to her own devices while in battle, she was keeping eye on her fellow battlers as she calculated her attack. She couldn't hone in a Blizzard without it hitting others around her. She used Psychic to fling all of the water and sand off of her to ease her movements in battle. As the sands and rocks began to soar through the air, Josette sent up a large barrier around herself. Blocking most of the rocks at least, but not as much from the wind and sand. Her now dry hair and dress fluttered around her in the wind, before she decided on her attack. She began to whirl her arms around in a circle, using psychic energy to scoop up much of the rocks and sand in the air and whirled it upwards and using her Psychic energy to slam it down on the beast. XXXXXAthena listened to Charizard, she was now wishing she had jumped into battle rather then letting Josette do so. This was her domain, the soothing little thing would find it easy to talk her way through a situation and ease out of the tension. Athena was a head on kind of Pokemon, she wasn't going to walk on eggshells or take the easy route. Charizard was making quite a bit of sense, and Athena wasn't going to deny it. Everything would have been much easier with the psychic around, with his abilities everything was much easier. Marcellus didn't hide that he was more then happy to use and abuse that strength Cronus had. Maybe this was partially why he wasn't here. The battle had sense commenced but Athena knew she couldn't leave Charizard to fume over this. As the sand blew, Charizard protected Emiri, she did the same. The Electivire stepped in front of Marcellus and wrapped her strong arms around him. Fortunately for them, Cronus or his other psychics weren't around, so he wouldn't be able to but in. "Look, I'm not going to make excuses for him. I don't agree with a lot of what he does." Athena explained to Charizard. Athena had but heads many many times with the Psychic, thinking that going in and taking the direct approach sometimes solved problems easier. She appreciates a good strategy, but Marcellus and Cronus often over complicates things more often then not."He has some personal thing he needed to complete and see through which he stated was too dangerous for us to help. But he said if there was any serious injury impending he would be here to make sure it didn't happen." Athena explained. He agreed to drop what ever was happening if he thought they would be seriously harmed. Was that nice or fair no. But he at least he still had an eye out."Is it selfish, and inconsiderate. You are 100% right. But you can't put everything on him because of his abilities." She explained. It was a lot to ask of Mewtwo, he always was multitasking, keeping tabs on those he cared about. If he needed to go do something, what ever it was, he should have been allowed to do it. "We can't fault him anymore then we would fault Dialga who has seen all of this happen through time, and is still doing nothing to stop it for her."Athena explained. With how many Legendaries that both Marcellus and Emiri encountered over the years, none of them had spared the two from all the hardships they've faced. Athena never liked letting the psychic off of the hook, but she couldn't fault him without faulting every other being that could be here and stopping this.

Faithe watches as Teriyaki leaps into action, she didn't need direction from Faithe to know what she needed to do, this giant dino looked like a plant sort of at least so that meant only one thing, fire. Teriyaki launches a massive blast of fire from her beak at the giant trundling beast. "what the heck is that thing?" Faithe asks looking directly at Dana for whatever reason she had decided that Dana would have a better idea about what this thing was than she did herself, there was no reason behind it. She just up her mind about it and that was that. She finally had some mental space to process what was said by the person who had addressed the two of them earlier. "hehe... he called me a lady." she giggled, she wasn't a lady, ladies were like fancy and refined right? Surely Dana might qualify for that, she didn't know her well enough to have any sort of assumption about her, so maybe Dana was a lady? She shrugged and returned her focus to the thing that likely wanted to eat them. "Yea, we are okay, I mean... for now." Faithe finally responds to the statement aimed towards them.

She watched closely, knowing the beast must have a fairly wide range of striking with all it's tendrils. The ground below them rumbled and shook deeply as it moved. She kept a steady stance but looked back to the others. "Probopass help anyone that needs assistance standing" Roxanne called out, as Probopass dispersed his mini-noses to anyone that needs any assistance, something steady to hold on to to keep them upright. While she was distracted the Prehistoric Meganium moved to strike. The movement that shook the ground caught her attention, she looked back just in time to see her Armaldo having gotten struck and duck to avoid her Pokémon. He soared right over her head after she fortunately ducked in time and landed on the ground. The Pokémon let out a groan from the hard strike. He was brought back to his senses as the interestingly colored Mawile came over to offer a help up and inquiry if he was ok. "Oh yeah, it'll take more then that to take me out. But I always appreciate help" he replied accepting her help up, giving her what would be a confident grin. He brushed off the sand after thanking Sakura and headed back into the battle. "Try and get it with an X-scissor!" Roxanne called out after checking that he was okay. Roxanne looked back over to Quinn who seemed to be a bit more collected then some of the others. "Any assessments you've made?" She asked Quinn, maybe they could try and figure out what this thing was and maybe find a weakness.
Meanwhile Probopass hummed a deep hum in response to Roxanne, as it's three mini-noses floated around offering to assist anyone that needed help standing on the shifting sand. "Thank you for helping protect them" Probopass commented in his deep voice to Rowl, however it seemed to be facing the beast and not Rowl. As well as it didn't seem to move to speak, as if it's mustache didn't seem to move. The Probopass didn't know Quinn, but he was fairly certain he could Protect Quinn. But when dealing with a giant grass type... Probopass was not going to knock any help. With the battle carrying on and Meganium already landing the first blow, Dana was becoming worried she'd made the wrong call. Not that she had many choices to offer! "Hellen! Try to weaken it with Gust!" She called out to her Pidove, waving aggressively so the Pidove could see her if somehow the bird didn't hear the woman. At least the strange man hadn't put much attention on her. She just needed to keep near Faithe for now and maybe they'd be able to find a way off this island. With help was optional. With Grace gone Dana felt like something worse was bound to happen and she needed people to protect her from that inevitability!
