Nicolai "Servo" Dakari

Everything Nicolai did seemed to come down to instants. Every fight, every plan, and every conquest - win or lose, was ultimately decided in seconds or less. He had come to respect the fact that no matter how much preparation and planning he did, in the end, it the biggest accomplishments and failures of his life always seemed to come down to instinct and the ability to react. So far he had been too slow when the real problems came. Too hesitant. Thankfully, today was not one of the big problems. Flux, who had been soundly clobbered by her trainer after a fatally mistaken action had her locked into a terrifying arm bar - had reverted to her normal state. A little under a foot of blobby defeat laying on the dirt path after Nicolai had assaulted her with the cloth and cleaned the excess ice cream from her face. It couldn't be helped though. Flux had never beaten its trainer in hand to hand combat as a human and truthfully? She should have known better. She'd been wearing the facade for so long that the transformation was actually wearing her down. Maintaining a form that was not her own for long periods of time was a point of pride for the Pokemon, one that she owed the redheaded man standing above her and shaking his head while slipping the cloth back into his outfit for. He had drilled her day in and day out, forcing Flux to hold forms for hours, and eventually - even days without reverting. Still, everything had a limit and dittos were no exceptions to the rule. With their scuffle concluded and flux lying wearily on the ground, the redhead snickered and scooped her up, gently wiping some of the dirt from what most would call Flux's back before allowing the tired Pokemon to flatten and slip into his shirt once more. Normally if a Pokemon couldn't keep up he would have left it behind. Any tool that couldn't do its job deserved the scrap heap. Flux shuddered when she remembered seeing it first hand before to several wild Pokemon Nick had tried to train as replacements for whatever creatures he had obtained and lost before Flux came into his service. It was crude - but whatever they didn't have that allowed him to discard so many others, flux seemed to have in spades. Glancing up at the chin of the redhead while he began to track the outskirts of the town, looking for a spot to camp no doubt, Flux smiled in a very nervous fashion. It was terrible to think of the man that held her and kept her safe as anything but bad. Anything but evil really. And yet there was always a bright side to something if you looked hard enough. In her case, the bright spot came in knowing that even in spite of his nature, Nicolai held her, at least, in some sort of high regard. She would never test those waters, lest she be cast out - but the Pokemon knew in her heart that Nicolai liked her somehow, which spoke volumes in itself. The pair continued around the outskirts of Oldale, what little of the place there really was, eventually stumbling upon a small clearing with trees at their front, and a pond at their backs. With a sigh, the man reached up and ran a hand through his thick hair, giving the place a scolding eye for several moments before nodding. "This is as good as we are going to get I imagine. Tomorrow we stay in a hotel though - I need a shower." He stated to the clearing, the ditto in his outfit nodding vigorously. For a man who lived outdoors, her trainer actually did a fairly good job of keeping clean as far as Flux was concerned. Humans had strange bathing regiments that he could never live up to given his lifestyle, but the ditto had never caught wind of a bad odor from the man as he used even some of the coldest river waters to clean himself up whenever possible. "I wanna take a bath too." Flux offered quietly, wishing for about the thousandth time that shapeshifting into humans gave her some capacity to utilize their ability to speak. There was not much to unpack, his things had all but been washed away in the rainstorm and he didn't spend a whole lot of time trying to salvage anything either. Perhaps he had chalked those items up to a loss on account of what they represented more than what they really were. Trinkets from a former life he no longer needed if he wanted to start anew. The philosophy caused him to briefly grin as he sat down, removing the bag of items flux had gathered for him during the day as well as a large coat that had been tied around his waist. Without another word, the fire-haired man removed his Pokedex and began to work quietly, ignoring the day while Flux peeked over his collar curiously at whatever it was he hoped to accomplish with the strange gadget. They had a long journey ahead of them, but for today at least, things were going his way.

Nick stared at the thing that emerged from his Pokeball. It was small like a torchic, could be considered 'cute' like a torchic, and was a basic starter of the region.... Like torchic. However, this thing that had emerged from his ball was also unlike a torchic. It walked on all fours instead of two legs, it was blue instead of orange, and most importantly of all - it could not light a campfire. The redhead studied what he knew from experience was a basic water pokemon of the hoenn region and the pokemon seemed to stare right back at him awkwardly. When Nick tilted his head, so then did the little blue mudkip he had received. A series of strange, 'lesser' emotions (as nick would refer to them) passed through his mind in a span of seconds. It shouldn't have bothered him really that the Pokemon he thought he had selected had been incorrect. He went into that lab knowing he didn't care for any of the three Hoenn region starters. And yet - as he pondered the creature before him he felt something similar to annoyance creep across his features. Sure, not having a personal lighter on hand was a touch irritating but the fact of the matter was that Nicolai wasn't upset because mudkip couldn't start a fire. He was upset because he felt he had been tricked. "This is...Unfortunate." He eventually stated in his usually detached tone, reaching into his belt and attempting to retrieve his firestarter kit - the likes of which he had been about to toss out. The little Mudkip seemed to mouth Nicolai's words roughly - not that it could speak English but it simply liked to copy the strange new man it knew to be its trainer. He was skinner than the mudkip had expected. The professor always told them stories at night about how one day a fine young human would come and need their help to follow their dreams! The slightly lanky redhead in front of him didn't look like he slept at all, let alone dream. "Oh boy. Mr. Nicolai is not happy with you already." Flux seemed to warn playfully, causing the mudkip to look over at a strange creature he knew to be a Pokemon but could not place. "Hello." Flux waved from its spot where Nick had already set about trying to get decent sparks into the kindling she'd gathered. "Hello?" The mudkip replied, still completely unsure what the pink blob had meant by her first statement. Had he already managed to muck this up? He hadn't even fought anyone yet! Flux seemed to sense his confusion, clapping her little pink hands together gleefully for more reason than one. The more pokemon Nick was upset with - the less time he spent being upset with her! Plus, having first hand knowledge of the situation made it all the more funny! "See - he didn't mean to pick you. He meant to pick the other one. the chicken thing." Flux stated matter of factly. In spite of herself, it was nice to have someone else to actually talk to. Quanta didn't like to talk - the little Porygon was all about the work, 24/7! And Yashi was... Well, Flux wasn't even sure Yashi was alive, let alone a pokemon. The thing had only ever moved one time since she'd been with nick- a literal twitch before it went back into whatever sleep it seemed to always be in, and truth be told - it had made Flux angry. The expression he had worn when that thing twitched brought him more joy than when she had single-handedly broken into a secured environment disguised as a human, stolen Quanta from a team of scientists, and then jumped out a window into a river! "Flux, show torchic, I mean Mudkip, how to do a perimeter sweep." Nick sighed again when he realized he had even managed to call it torchic. Sure, he could trek back to the lab and demand a refund but that was time wasted over frivolous emotion. Time he didn't care to waste. When Flux began to clap at his verbal mistake, Nick eye'd the small ditto, causing flux to rather comically slow her clap instead of stopping outright. Eventually though the ditto did comply, observing the mudkip for several seconds until her body rippled and changed into an exact copy. "W-wow!" The actual mudkip seemed to remark in awe, drawing a wave from flux who turned and began to walk through the brush carefully. "Come on noobie - You seem like a nice mon and I would hate to lose you so soon. Let's make you useful enough for Nick to want to keep around okay?" The voice had been playful but after sparing a glance to the redhead coldly running a blade over flint - mudkip cringed, nodding quickly and darting off after his imposter. His trainer was not a dreamer. But he did seem dangerous.

The night, burnt meal aside had gone quietly. The majority of Nick anticipated this would be the case of course. The innocent and naive life of a trainer was largely spent around campfires, telling stories and spreading ridiculous ideals about their dreams as future trainers. Typically the worst thing that could happen was that one of them get stung by a Weedle or some other such nonsense. Still, the life he had led meant he would never sleep in an entirely comfortable fashion. Too many nights shaken away by shattered doors and explosions. After conversing with Quanta to the best of his ability, the male had opted to allow the Porygon to remain free of its confines in the odd event that whatever bug it had taken on grew worse. He had worked so hard and sacrificed so much to retrieve the artificial Pokemon. Losing it now would be a devastating blow. So, with the rise of the morning sun, he stood, unnaturally colored hair blowing in the wind while he proceeded with his morning stretches. Flux had passed out against the curled form of Torchic - the Mudkip with a highly unfortunate nickname while Quanta had stood watch. Stood was rather inaccurate considering the way the Porygon floated in mid-air, unrestrained by something as silly as gravity- but watch it did all the same. "Feeling any better this morning Quanta?" He asked after his limbs felt as good as they would given the material they had slept on during the night. Quanta wanted to remind its trainer that the disease did not seem to be causing any negative effects so truthfully it wasn't feeling 'better' or 'worse' at all. But instead, the physical embodiment of code shook its head slightly, causing the human to sigh and shrug. After a quick glance at the drooling Ditto and its makeshift blue pillow - he reached for the standard-issue ball on his belt and returned the Mudkip, causing Flux to slip back onto the ground and wake with a start, pink arms flailing as if she were a soldier waking and ready for battle! "Ruuuuu-duh." Flux managed through squinted eyes, drawing a light-hearted chuckle from her trainer. "Time to go." He stated with a shrug, collecting the bits of different things he had unpacked from his coat during the night and throwing the article over his shoulder. It was much too nice for a coat - in fact, it was too nice for the special force's uniform he wore altogether. But some habits died hard and he didn't exactly have a pair of shorts to wear.

By the time they had reached the road, Nicolai was already contemplating his next move. To his knowledge, there was a gym challenge in the next town over that he could participate in. . . However, even if he trusted his battle skills currently, the team he had thrown together consisted essentially of Flux and Quanta, the latter being the strongest Pokemon in his possession. It's battle potential was incredible by his estimates even if rather untested and refined. He cast his gaze over to the floating, multisided being beside him and blinked a few times as they walked - Quanta surveying the distance to their next objective with an unyielding stare. The reports he had heard regarding the closest gym seemed to indicate that its proximity to the start of the region differed from other places in that the gym itself was incredibly challenging. With Quanta not feeling up to speed he wasn't certain of his chances so that meant, for the moment anyway, he would have to avoid such direct conflict. He turned his head down a touch when they reached the top of the next rolling hill, following the pointed tip of his Porygon as a sudden thought came to mind upon seeing a group of wild Pokemon. If he wasn't going to be earning a gym badge today - they could at least get a little training in.

Minako walked into Oldale Town feeling proud she had made it that far however she didn't stay long before she was on the move again to route 104, toward Petalberge City. She saw a small psychic type in the grass, and immediatly her eyes lit up. She had to have it, so she resolved she would go hunting for one. She started to obbserve the grass and recalled her Umbreon leaving out only her mudkip. "Okay.. Time to search out that pokemon Nomatter how long it takes!" The Mudkip gave a reassuring "MUDKIP!" As a reply as the girl and her Mudkip began the search.

Minako Afton The Future Champion
Minako got to Oldale town, and collected the stamp from the pokemon center. She then decided to continue on to littleroot so she could stop by another region and visit it for a bit. She walks that way with her Galiga beside her. She looked at the pokemon and smiled."where too?" Aurora let off a tiny cry as they crossed route 301 heading back toward Littleroot town.

With Charizard leading the way, just as it has always been, Emiri’s Pokemon spanned out around them as they flew over the oceans once again, and Emiri knew that this continued practice over the stiff ocean breezes would be good, especially for her fliers like Flix who were still young and working on his maneuverability. He had made it through Alola with them, being able to keep up pace and work through his stamina to make sure he was getting the practice that he needed, and Emiri was incredibly proud of him how he was handling the flight thus far. She knew now with his own strength it would be time to work on training him on flight with a passenger since he was so prominent now in flight with his own weight, and she knew that that would be incredibly exciting for him. Next was going to be Cerian who spent most of his time hopping between Kovu and Salamence when they were within close proximity to each other, and his wings too were getting stronger and stronger by the day as he held them open against the winds of the open air.
Not long after they had left off from Dewford Town, they moved over the open ocean and was able to reach the mainland again, moving towards Oldale town as their next location to visit. Continuing to check off things one by one, Emiri noted that they only had a handful of stamps left for the Hoenn mainland, and it wouldn’t be long before they looked to make their way east over the ocean. Emiri stopped off at the Pokemon Center with Charizard and smiled at Nurse Joy upon getting her next stamp, and then they started to make their way north again.
