The sprite was very intrigued by the device and was continuing to look it over when the small Chimchar that the human had caught her attention, asking a small series of questions.
"Oh, um... Well, my name is Callorey, but you can call me Calla like Copper does," she smiled at being asked her name, coming up in the air just a bit from the device that Matthew held in his hands. She looked back at Copper though at being asked how she had gotten captured, and found it a rather odd question to be asked.
"Captured? Oh no, Copper didn't capture me, or at least not on purpose," she answered, though Copper groaned again at Calla's insistence on going into detail that wasn't necessarily Matthew's or the Chimchar's business.
"Calla, you don't have to talk about it," Copper glared, but she didn't seem to notice Copper's insistence as she looked to the small fire type.
"It was on accident. I was looking for him when I sensed that he wasn't in Unova any more, and well, it took me a long time to find him because he traveled all over the world for a time, even through this region before he stopped in Kanto," Calla started, recalling that when she had started looking for Copper, she had to follow him through all of the regions of the world, from Kalos to Johto before she finally was able to find him. She wasn't sure why he had been moving from each city and each region like he was, but she found him that day in Rota, and she was glad that she did.
"I was looking for him and I think I startled one of his other Pokemon and they attacked me. Abban used one of your human things to keep me safe until I felt better, and that's when I met Copper," she finished with a chipper smile, having been with Copper ever since.

Matthew, then upon hearing everything that Calla had told him and Chimchar, started to find the story a bit strange. However, he shrugged it off as stranger things could have happened. "Well, it's definitely a pleasure to meet you, Calla. And it was also nice to know how you and Copper came to be together." he then said to the Azelf as he then stuck his hand out to shake her paws.

As soon as the handshake was done and over with, Matthew and Chimchar both smiled at Calla. "I'm Matthew Jundzil from the Unova Region." Matthew then started to say, introducing himself. "And this monkey on my shoulder is Chimchar." he then adds, petting Chimchar's head.
"Chim Chimchar Chimchar." Chimchar then said to Calla, telling her it was a pleasure to meet her.

"It's very nice to meet you both," Calla smiled with her small chipper voice, flitting through the air again just slightly to look too to the Chimchar on Matthew's shoulder.
"I can help you find the park if you want," she offered again then, looking back to Copper though with a small expression of discouragement. She knew Copper only wanted to do things on his own and never wanted to ask for help because he wanted to be able to take care of things for himself, but every now and again she hoped one day he would realize that it was okay to accept help, especially if it was offered.
"Are we going somewhere or not? I'm not just going to sit here all day like some guard dog," Bravur barked, though flinched slightly at the small growl Cassio gave whom stood beside Copper. Copper groaned internally, more so for the fact that he really just didn't particularly like Calla still, but he was now slightly more concerned on the matter that he hadn't seen Abban at all, and wanted to make sure he wasn't in his pokeball. The park would be a good place to let some more of his larger Pokemon out and give Matthew a chance to keep working on what he was doing, that way Copper could wonder what might have happened to Abban.
"Fine Calla, just take us to the park," Copper commented after a moment, relinquishing control on the situation then to allow Calla to help them towards the park.
"Okay, it's this way," she answered again in her light voice, a smile playing on her small features again as she flitted through the air, starting to lead them through the city.

Matthew chuckles a bit as he starts to follow Calla. "Friendly Azelf, isn't she, Copper?" he says to him, nudging his shoulder playfully as he then walks past him, following Calla to the park. Along the way, Matthew starts to think of all the Pokemon that he could potentially catch and train against at the park. Thinking about what he could be going up against puts a smile on the trainer's face as he then thinks to himself, "This will be perfect. Not only does this give me a chance to better prepare my Pokemon for when we have to move to the next city, but it'll provide me an opportunity to catch some more Pokemon to prepare for the tough road ahead." Suddenly, his thought is interrupted when he hears a nearby bush shaking. He snaps out of his thought as he turns and looks around. "Did anybody else hear that?" he asks as he searches for the noise.

The small group moved through the city streets, and Copper could tell that things were opening up around them with less density in buildings and structures for it was getting harder for him to see since there were less things for sound to bounce off of. That didn't mean his hearing was any less keen though as there was something moving in a set of bushes beside them that lined the walkway. Matthew caught onto it too, asking if anyone else had heard that, and Copper almost had to laugh at the question.
"Just for future reference, you never have to ask me if I heard something because I hear everything," Copper returned, continuing to walk along the sidewalk following Calla. There were always things moving in bushes or rustling in trees, he could hear everything from the softest step of a paw to the scratching of claws against the bark of a tree, there were things moving and making noise every where he went, so it was of little concern to him what was actually moving within the foilage.

Matthew continues to listen to the sound of the bush shaking as he tries to locate the source of the sound. He then looks to see a bush moving slightly and walks over to find out what is in there. "Char! Chimchar!" Chimchar exclaims to Matthew, telling him to be careful, worried that whatever might be in this bush could be dangerous to him. Matthew nods a bit and reaches a hand into the bush, searching for anything other than leaves.

As he continues to search, his hand runs along something sharp. "Ack!" he exclaims as he suddenly gets a small cut on one of his fingers.
"Chim Chimchar Chim?" Chimchar then asks, seeing Matthew flinching a bit.
"Urgh... I'm fine. It's just something sharp leaving a small cut. No big deal, really." Matthew assures his Chimchar as he then runs his fingers along the sharp object, seemingly circular in shape. He then pulls the object out and examines it carefully, a disc that was colored a dark purple, and on it a word carved in that reads, Shadow Claw. "Whoa... What is this thing?" he asks as he looks at this strange object some more.
"Chimchar..." Chimchar adds, awestruck that Matthew found something like this.

He knew he and the fox didn't exactly get along now since the fire type had evolved, but that didn't mean Copper didn't care about him. Ever since Abban got his powers, being able to communicate, tap into his mind, he had changed from the happy fox he had been when Copper was training him and Ostinato together. They had made such a good team then, but Abban became slightly more aggressive he thought, or maybe he just didn't know what to do with all of the power that came with his evolution, but Copper couldn't say that he didn't care about the fox at all. They had their fights, and Copper still had nightmares about the one image Abban had shown through his own eyes, but they worked together, and Abban still managed to help save Copper's life, and for that he knew they would be bonded together forever.
"After what happened... After he did what he did, he didn't want to do that to you ever again... He was still new to his psychic powers, and didn't know how to control them when he got mad at you... He's been gone since we got back to Santalune City, he left to train more himself and work on his abilities," Calla explained carefully and quietly, unsure of if Abban had really wanted to tell Copper in the first place, and she was certain she wasn't really supposed to know either, but she couldn't help it when she felt Abban's feelings and ambitions, and only wanted to wish him well if that was truly what he wished to do. Copper was speechless at this point, unsure of how he felt at all about the situation, whether he should be thankful, or proud, or resentful or feel betrayed or abandoned, he couldn't fathom what would make Abban feel that scorned that he needed to isolate himself and run off. Where had he gone? How could he just leave without a word? Would he ever come back? Copper couldn't understand how he was supposed to fix this situation, and wondered what he was supposed to do, and was reeling with his thoughts as he stood there off to the side.
"Hey! Are you coming or what? You wanted to go to the park too, or did that ship sail," Bravur shouted from ahead of even Copper, looking back at Matthew in the near distance, wondering if the other human was going to come along or if Copper would be left to his own devices again.

"Huh? Oh... Oh yeah. Sure. Coming." Matthew then replies as he turns to see Bravur waiting for him and Chimchar to get a move on. He then stands up, still holding the weird disk in his hands, and runs forward to rejoin Copper and the others. However, a second after he left from the bush, a pair of red eyes start to pop out from the bush, and a slight growl escaped from the bush, although Matthew couldn't hear it.

Something then started to emerge from the bush. It had the basic features of a Riolu except that it was hairier, brown instead of blue, and its teeth were a bit sharper. It quickly got on all fours and started to follow Matthew and company quietly so as not to draw attention to itself.

Meanwhile, Matthew and Chimchar, both unaware of the weird Pokemon following after them, continued to follow Copper and Calla to the park, still holding the weird machine in their hands. "Hmmm... What do you think this is, Copper?" he then asks, holding the object up near Copper's side, both curious about its origin and what it could do.

Copper was deep in his thoughts, and wasn't sure what he wanted to do next, but Bravur had gained Matthew's attention again and Copper heard footsteps moving towards him, and could feel Matthew's figure closing in around him. Matthew had continued to walk, and Copper followed a bit aimlessly since Calla was still leading the way, and Copper had just barely caught the question Matthew posed to him as he had been reeling in his own thoughts. Copper blinked with his pale eyes, realizing that he had been quiet up until this point, glancing to Matthew's features and then down to his outstretched hand.
"What do I think it is," Copper repeated, trying to make sure he had heard Matthew right to begin with as he glanced down at the object that Matthew seemed to be holding now. Near as Copper could tell, it was a round object, something smooth, and flat, but beyond that, there was little that Copper could discern from it.
"I don't know? I can see it's round and flat, but anything past that, you're asking the wrong guy," Copper returned, still knowing very little in general about most things.
"Yeah, he's blind, remember? I travel with you and I'm still trying to figure out how you don't trip over your own feet," Bravur snickered, padding along the ground with the small group as they continued moving towards the park.
"I've never seen a peculiar human object like that either. It's very shiny though," Calla commented, flitting through the air as she glanced at the round object that Matthew held.

"Hmmm... I see..." Matthew says as he then pulls the disc back and stares at the engravement again. "Hmmm... Shadow Claw, huh? I wonder if this is a vessel containing a move ready for use." he then adds, continuing to stare. Chimchar continues to stare as well as he and his trainer are unaware that the brown Riolu is closing in steadily on them.

The Riolu stares at both trainer and Pokemon and lets out another growl. This time, Matthew hears the growl and turns to see where it is coming from. "Huh? What is that thing?" he then asks, a bit surprised as he looks to see the Riolu. Chimchar looks as well and sees the Riolu, then letting out a confused, "Chimchar?"
"Ri! Riolu! Ri! Ri!" the Riolu then barked, warning Matthew to give it back what it calls its Shadow Claw TM.

It doesn't seem very friendly, we don't need to bother it," Copper returned, knowing that should the small Pokemon cause any trouble Cassio would handle it, but otherwise he was ready to move forward and leave the small Pokemon alone, but Matthew didn't budge as the canine gave out a series of growls, and Bravur stepped forward just a bit to become a part of the situation.
"I don't know what's so important about that thing, but scruffy here says it belongs to him," Bravur commented, glancing at the odd Riolu.

"This thing? That Riolu probably doesn't even know what it does." Matthew replies, looking at the strange object.
"Riii!" the Riolu then growls as it gets closer to Matthew and Chimchar, some claws then starting to come out of it. Matthew hears the claws unsheathing and looks to see the Riolu coming. "Whoa... That thing has claws as well?" he said, all surprised at the Pokemon. He then pulls out his Pokedex to get some more information out of it:

"Riolu, the Emanation Pokemon. It uses the shapes of auras, which change according to emotions, to communicate with others. However, most Riolus do not have claws coming out of their paws."

The Pokedex then shows a picture of what a regular Riolu looks like. As Matthew and Chimchar look, they see a blue Riolu without sharp claws, but rather paws put out in a regular fighting stance. "Whoa... So that's what a Riolu usually looks like..." Matthew then says as he looks at the Riolu standing before him. "Looking at this one, there's a lot of differences to note." he then adds.

"You guys should run as well!" he calls out as he runs, still holding the disk. He then tosses it to Chimchar, who quickly catches it and puts it in his backpack.

The Riolu sees Matthew running and growls even more, then starting to give chase to the trainer. "Riolu!!" it yells, telling Matthew to come back to where it is.

"Why didn't he give it back...," Calla asked, turning too to watch the chase move on, worried that the Riolu was going to catch up well before Matthew might be able to get away.
"I don't know Calla, but we might as well do something," Copper sighed, leaning down and releasing the clasp on Cassio's leash, and the powerful Jolteon took off in a run towards the conflict as Copper walked with Calla and Bravur. Cassio's long legs gave him great strides in catching up to Matthew and the Riolu, and it was only moments before the Jolteon had the Riolu in his reach.
"That's enough," the electric type barked, leaning down with his head to catch the Riolu's scruff in his teeth to bring them both to a stop.

The Riolu then lets out a yelp as it feels Cassio clamping down on its fur, then slowing it to a stop. Matthew hears the yelp from Riolu and slides to a stop, then turning back to see what is happening. "Huh?" he asks as he sees Cassio holding the Riolu. "You came to help us out?"

"So what now if you're so smart, huh," Bravur commented, padding along the ground as he looked up at Matthew, wondering what the bright human thought he was going to do now.
"Bravur is right, what are we going to do with it? It seems pretty bent on getting that round thing back," Copper asked, wondering now what Matthew thought they were going to do in this situation, despite Copper wanting to be far less involved in it all than he was now.

"Hmm... I think I have an idea." Matthew says as he then goes up to the Riolu, who just growls at him. "Listen, Riolu. How about I make you an offer?" he then says to the Riolu.
"Riol?" the Riolu then asks, a bit confused and wondering what Matthew's offer to him is going to be.
"Listen. You seem like you're pretty strong as well as being intimidating, so what say you to this: I'll let you have your weird object back, but in return, I'd like you to come along with us. I think we could use a Pokemon like you on our team." Matthew then says to the Riolu.
"Chimchar?!? Chimchar Chimchar Chim!" Chimchar then exclaims, stating that Matthew must bee crazy to make an offer such as that.
"Rio Ri." Riolu then says as he shrugs his shoulders in a Why not? position, surprising Chimchar as he turned and looked to the Riolu.
"Alright then." Matthew then says as he turns to Cassio. "You can let the Riolu go." he then says to the Jolteon.

"Hey, don't expect us to help you if scruffy here decides to run you down again," Bravur contested, not wanting to have to chase them around the city again because the Riolu decides that this offer isn't good enough.
"It's calmed down now, but it has a lot of integrity, I would just be careful," Calla spoke quietly for Matthew to hear, not wanting to take away from his decision but only wanting to caution him in his decision.

"Okay then. I'll keep that in mind, Calla." Matthew then responded as he then walked over to the Riolu, then pulling out a Pokeball from his backpack and holding it up to the Pokemon. Meanwhile, the Riolu was fixing up its scruff as it then turned and looked to see the Pokeball that Matthew was holding in front of it. Hesitant at first, it started to move its paw over to the center of the Pokeball. "Riolu?" it then asked Matthew, asking if it has to touch the center.

"It'll be okay, little Riolu. Afterwards, I'll let you out and give you your strange disc." Matthew then assured the Riolu, bending down and petting its head a bit. The Riolu flinched at first, but as it felt more of Matthew's touch, it started calming down and purring. Eventually, it then gained the confidence to touch the center of the Pokeball, then getting sucked into it. The Pokeball then started shaking around as Matthew held it in the palm of his hand, waiting for the capturing process to be complete.

He didn't want to discourage Matthew really, but he did want him to be a bit more careful, there was no telling what could happen with a sort of open door state of mind like that.

"Well then, I guess we try to defend ourselves as best as we can." Matthew soon replied as he watched the light in the Pokeball fade. With an 'click', the strange Riolu had been caught. Matthew then smiled and let the Riolu back out. "Riol!" the Riolu exclaimed as it came out of the Pokeball, ready to fight.
"Well, Riolu, now that you're a part of my team, I have a little something for you." Matthew then said as he then reached into his backpack and pulled out the strange disk.
"Rio?" the Riolu then asked, a bit confused as she turned to Matthew, then seeing him holding her object out for her. "Rio! Riolu! Rio!" she then cheered happily as she hopped up and grabbed the disk from Matthew, then landing and snuggling it like a blanket.
"Hehehehe... You're welcome, Riolu." Matthew then chuckled, seeing how she was thankful for him giving her her TM back. He then turned to Copper and said to him, "Don't worry. I don't think she'll hold a grudge against me now that she has her item back."
"Chimchar Chim." Chimchar then said to Matthew, telling him to still be careful just in case Riolu were to try to get him back for swiping her TM in the first place.

”Didn’t you go with Copper for the human event around the world,” Calla asked, looking down to the Zorua too.
”Unfortunately, he was there the whole way. Apparently winning third place out of the entire world competing just isn’t good enough for him,” Copper remarked, turning to walk then with Cassio moving beside him, leaving Bravur behind in that brief moment.
”What do you want, a medal or something? Let’s just go before we burn out on daylight, huh,” the Zorua huffed, starting to pad along on the ground beside the small group to move forward.
”For your sake, you might want to watch for any of your Pokemon that might be able to talk. It can be a bit of a hassle,” Copper offered to Matthew in a slightly exasperated tone. He liked Bravur, and the fox had his moments, but if was far more than Copper could have ever thought of encountering on his travels, that Pokemon, these animals and creatures could talk.

"Duly noted, Copper." Matthew replied as he then returned Riolu to her Pokeball, along with the TM. He then smiled and nodded to Copper and Bravur, saying to them, "Alrighty then. Since Bravur is so anxious to get to the park, let's get going without any more dilemmas or interruptions, shall we?" He then turned back towards the park and started to pick up the pace a bit, still walking but wanting to avoid any other distractions that could hold him or Copper up.

"Finally, I thought we'd never get here. You would have lost that race around the world at that rate," Bravur scoffed, stepping off from the cement path they had been following and off into the grass, sniffing around at the new surroundings and looking around with his sharp blue eyes. Copper rolled his pale eyes at the fox's words, watching his small figure start to move around in the open area, and he thought he might as well let the fox go.
"Just go and run yourself around, okay? Don't go too far, but get rid of some of that energy and attitude, how about that," Copper huffed, looking down to the Zorua.
"You don't have to tell me twice," the fox remarked, turning and starting to pad away. Copper knew that the fox listened better than he let on, and Cassio could go fetch him if he did go too far, so he wasn't too concerned for the fox as he went off into the distance. Copper turned to Matthew then, one headache out of the way for now, but the fact that Abban wasn't around any more still left him with another dilemma entirely. He at least wanted to get some kind of attention from his other Pokemon that were familiar with Abban, to see what they might be able to do, if anything at all, so he figured it would be best to let some of them out of their Pokeballs.
"It sounds like there's a lot of wild Pokemon in the area, this might be a good space for you to train if you want? I'm going to let some of my Pokemon out too," Copper commented, reaching for the few Pokeballs that he kept on his belt rather than in his bag, knowing a few Pokemon he wanted to see. Since he had been traveling with Eco, he hadn't had a chance to really see Ostinato much, or Ace for that matter, so he wanted to give them some time out. They were some of his longest companions on his travels, Ret too whom had joined him on his travels, so from their Pokeballs he released the Samurrott, Sawsbuck, and Noivern. He looked at them, being able to see their figures appearing before him, and was happy to see some of his companions in travel. Ret's figure moved as the dragon opened his wings, stretching and giving out a fanged yawn at being released from his ball. He looked around with his red eyes, taking in his surroundings as he glanced to Ace whom shook out his antlers and sniffed around at the greenery they found themselves around. Ostinato was the first to make any real move, the fairly large water type moving forward towards Copper. The Samurrot was easily taller than Copper, and big enough in frame that he could mount him, if the otter would lean down a bit for him to do so.
"Hey Ostinato, it's good to see you," Copper greeted, reaching out a hand to the otter's blue fur on his neck, giving him a few strokes of a greeting.

Matthew looked as he saw Copper letting out his three Pokemon, a Samurott, a Sawsbuck, and a Noivern. He would then smile as he saw Copper saying his welcomes to his Samurott pal. He then walked up to the Samurott a bit and stared, thinking to himself, "Wow. The way that Copper's Samurott is smiling and letting him pet him... He must have been on a really long journey with his Pokemon."

Meanwhile, Matthew's Chimchar stared in awe of the sheer size of Ostinato and only spoke, "Chimchar Chim..." noting the Samurott's noble-like appearance and size over the rest of the gang.
