 "Town of Sand."
In south west Sinnoh, near a small inlet and beach that leads out to the southern ocean of the region, Sandgem Town remains. The surrounding area is rather clear and flat with a few groups of trees here and there, but the main of the area gives way to the clear sky and the ocean not too far as salty mists from the ocean blow through every now and again. Sandgem Town is small, with a few streets that make up the most of any structure the town has with it's few businesses and more houses. However, even though Sandgem Town might be over looked in one's travel through the region, it is actually a very important hot spot for trainers everywhere, for this is where Professor Rowan, the famed professor of the Sinnoh Region, has his laboratory set up.

IAN MYST Piplup, male Lv.-- 05 HP-- 40 Persona: Hasty Ability: Torrent Pound-- 40Growl-- Lowers target's attack by one stageEXP-- 00/15 {+1 EXP} Prof Rowan was as stern and pleasant as the little town of sand itself, and in their likeness Ian felt he understood the man. One would think Ian was lost from the minute he was alone, but they really would not have known him then. If they knew him, by his dubious sea green eyes that sometimes go dead blank for long minutes at a time before fluttering back to his environment, he always seemed like he knew something. Like he was shown something. His previous dealings with tarot cards and communicating with spirits told him to stay in Sandgem for indefinite time until he's found .. a storm itself. It wasn't rational until a later dream revealed to him a wild encounter with a vigorous Shinx. Among the scattered boulders of the sandy beach, arcs of lightning coursed sand into glass, burning up the air and licking and jolting his veins. His blue hair began to lift and rose. That felt real. Ian wanted, no he desired, the Shinx after that. For some unforeseen reason, a foreseen friend will be needed. And who was he to ignore such an otherworldly voice? He dreamt of a Dusk Stone the moment he stepped out the Lab and looked upon the windswept Sandgem town. He would acquire that evolutionary Stone too. As for the particular Pokémon's evolution that would require it, he has yet to guess. For now, he thinks cradling the Piplup and its Poke-ball haven in an open palm, I have my first friend. You will help me catch that Shinx, somehow. Ian settled it with a growing smirk. Dare I say I'm already having fun? Wild Encounter 1/7

This is the power of Ghosts. The world became weirder then as he recognized this place. It was the same place from his dream where he met that Shinx. They hungered to be let out. Piplup's had sustained several frustrated pecks but Froslass's was a horrifying wendigo shriek. "Come on out then," Ian said, and was followed with two bursts of radiance. The Piplup ruffled his feathers, waddled up to Ian, and sized his master up with an excited eyeball. However, the sudden drop of temperature made both Ian and Piplup downright shiver. Both's short hair bristled. Froslass faded into the physical realm, dropping a few ice crystals to evaporate on hot white sand. Froslass shone almost as bright as the sun, harsh and beautiful to see. Both Pokémon watched each other, slowly circumspecting and calculating. Froslass was brave, and Piplup was hasty; in their agile behavior one intrigued the other. This pleased Ian. He recalled his anxiety of coming out as gay to his parents, Mr and Mrs Myst. This was years ago, and they were the kindest elder couple in Sinnoh if you can believe that. Ian felt dirty, but they insisted he shan't worry. Being seasoned psychics and extraordinary sensitive, they had always known and loved him the same. "We see a wedding," said mother, once. "To a gentlemanly husband," added father. They huddle and snicker at how dreamy and star struck Ian looked during one of his spells, before he snapped out of it blushing, "Stop..!" Ian smiled a bittersweet one at that memory. Hasty Piplup ran around brave Froslass who circled too, never leaving her back exposed. Both settled and stared at him, with growing curiosity. Who was this man, their new owner? "Come, Piplup," he said teasingly. Ian lured Piplup to the cresting waves and trudged knee high through water while the penguin torpedoed through. "Yes! You're born for this." Froslass eyed him with great fascination. Up until now, it hadn't wanted to talk or share her past. Now she wondered if she trusted this man, but accepted that she liked him. Susurrus made Ian turn his head somewhat. An eerie howl and a trembling whine... His sea green eyes fell blank. Ripples from the past... A shout. More shouts. Moves. Leer! Froslass, Double Team! Good! Now use Ice Shard! Hit them with Powder Snow! Ian was being fed her moves, and she respected him enough to do that. His heart could swell, and he would try not to choke up and cry. He was too busy trying to make ends meet, and never spent much time with Pokémon. Now he was dealing with two. Use Ice Shard now. Ian thought with intensity. Froslass turned away from him and targeted a boulder to attack. Whoosh! It was almost as if a shuriken of ice slammed into the rock, deeply lodged in. Good.Piplup waddled, rushing headfirst through cresting waves, chirping pip-pip-pip-lup! It was such a funny sound that it caused Ian to crack up laughing to tears. This warms Froslass a little as she covers something like a smile. Piplup continued to charge recklessly until his head connected with the boulder with a thud. Ian stopped laughing at once and scrambled over. "Piplup! You okay?" But Piplup just hugged him, looking up at him and cooed laughter. Ian sighed with relief. However, he began to worry about the first gym ahead in Oreburgh. With Piplup's Water type, they had the upper hand. There was that, at least. He realized Froslass peered at him, reading his every thought. She visualized Gym badges and battles of sheer ferocity before hurrying back to her training. She visualized the second gym in Eterna City... how much greenery she would freeze and fuel to ensure their victory. Wild Encounter 4/7

Bug Badge The trip from Kalos to Sinnoh took a bit longer than Copper might have anticipated, following the small sprite through the air on Eco's back. Copper didn't quite remember it taking that long during that time he was racing around the world, but he couldn't deny that he had to take a rest, for Eco's sake too, every now and again. They ended up staying the night out somewhere before getting back into the sky, and eventually that morning Eco and Cassio could see a small town coming up in the distance, and with Calla's introduction, it was Sandgem town that they were approaching. A few minutes later, and Eco was landing on the ground, the dust of the walk way coming up in circles around her from the beats of her wings. Her feet touched the ground and she allowed Copper and Cassio off of her back. Copper bid Calla into her pokeball for now as he stood there with Eco beside him, taking her large head in his hands.
"I don't remember this place," he questioned, looking around at the faint shapes that he could see, the sounds he could hear, none of it struck any part of his memory from his time traveling around the Sinnoh Region.
"I guess maybe this place doesn't have a Pokemon Center like the other cities? It does seem really quiet here, it's kind of hard to see," Copper commented, looking down to Cassio beside him as the dog offered a sort of snuff in agreement.
"Well, I guess we're here now. And I'm good on flying for a while, just like I'm sure you are Eco," Copper spoke after a moment in a sort of heavy sigh, accepting that this was the next part of his travels, though what that meant, he wasn't entirely sure. |

It was now morning in the region of Sinnoh as the sun shinned upon the small town called Sandgem town, Within the town was a small town Inn for traveler's that have no place to live at the time. Inside one of the inn's rooms is Lok starting to wake up to the morning sun shinning through the window and upon his face, he opens is eyes slowly till his vision started to become clearer enough for him to see his surroundings. Lok had slept on a medium size bed his turwig laying on top of blue blanket that the inn's staff had provided in the room he is certainly sleeping in for the night. He sat up while making a sleepy yawn while turning his head out the window seeing blue skies, people walking around on the roads. He'd then pets his turtwigs head trying to wake hi new pokemon friend up from his sleep and spoke in a happy ton.
Lok "good morning Turtwig, todays the day we start our journey together along with charizard. lets have some fun, meet new friends, pokemon and win tons of badges ok" he said with a smile upon his face.
His turtwig nods making alittle "turt" sound as it started to get up and move off the bed so lok can move the blankets away to get up, Lok got up and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth, make his spiky hair and look ready for the day. Then he puts his cloths which he had put in a wooden closet is a trench coat, black shirt, black pants, gloves and his sunglasses that he put on the side wooden table of his bed. He'd pick up his back and look at his turtwig ready to start his adventure in Sinnoh.

He had wanted to continue challenging the gyms in the Kalos region while he had been there, but after spending so long in Cyllage City, and then back in Santalune City waiting for Ridley, he just couldn't bring himself to move forward in the region. It was ridiculous, or at least he thought so, that he was so caught up on someone who hardly paid him half of her attention at any given time. Ridley was so beyond anyone that he could have fathomed himself hanging around with, and yet, that was probably exactly why he did so in the first place. She didn't dote, she wasn't nice, she didn't treat him any different than she would any one else, blind or not. She was real, save for the lies that she told, and there was something about that that Copper could appreciate, despite how detrimental it was to his mental health. He heaved a sigh as he started walking, without cause, through the small town, Cassio padding along beside him in his leash and vest, and Eco towering above the two as she walked along too on her four broad legs.
"I guess since we're here, maybe we can challenge some of the gyms in this region," Copper started, struggling to see in the quiet of the small town, shapes becoming fuzzy and his range becoming smaller. It didn't seem to bother him much, at least not right now while he was rather deep in thought.
"It could never hurt to get more practice, like Cheren said, remember? We only made it six badges into Unova, and there's... Eight for every region, right," Copper spoke aloud as he looked down to Cassio beside him, and the dog offered a bark in agreement, remembering what the gym leader Cheren had told them that time ago.
"I know we're not going back to Unova for a while, so what if we challenged the gyms for another region? And maybe we'll find something to do on the way," the teen spoke, finalizing his plans for the foreseeable future, though he was less than confident about them. He was once again traveling alone, without a direction in the world, and he couldn't help but feel lost about it. He figured he just needed to get over Ridley and otherwise, he had been doing fine traveling by himself before, and even made it through that race around the world by himself. He could keep traveling by himself if he wanted to, and so he intended to do just that, until he heard Cassio bark and tug on his leash, but it was too late as Copper hit something solid straight on with a grunt, having run into a person that had been walking through the small town. |

He stood up and nods looking up at the sky feeling the nice cool breeze while the warm suns rays upon his skin, his hair waved due to the wind pushing against his hair. He'd then stop his stretches and takes out a map to look to see where the first gym is located at which is at Oreburgh Gate where i'll battle the first gym leader. He then look at his guide that he bought from the poke mart and opened it to the gym leader badge and spoke to read the page.
Lok "Lets see aw yes here it is, Roark the Oreburgh gym leader. He's a rock type gym leader who uses strong and tough rock type pokemon in his battles and if i win he'll give me the Coal badge. Mhm this is gonna be a fun adventure though.... i wonder when my employer from this team Galactic is gonna come? ether way i'll just have to wait and see so till then i better set off towards Oreburge town. Lets go turtwig"
his turtwig gave a "Turtwig" sound willing to go anywhere his friend is going, and started to walk off on the road towards Oreburgh. Before he could walk a few more steps on the road someone ran straght into lok causing him to fall upon the ground, in anger he yelled at the person who ran into him.
Lok "Hey you! watch where you're going for pete sake, i was right in front of you when you ran into me" he said with a angery yet hurt grunt for landing on the ground. |

He couldn't say that he wasn't at least a little interested to spend some real time in another region after having just flown from city to city on Eco in order to participate in that race, so taking the time to slow down and learn about a whole other place actually did appeal to him. Never mind that this seemed to be Calla's home region too, somewhere that she was familiar with. Not that Copper still particularly cared for the sprite, but it seemed that she might be growing on him. If only a little.
Copper was ready to begin his trek through this region when everything suddenly stopped around him and he hit something solid that he soon found to be another person as there was another grunt of impact that he heard. Copper tried to orient himself, but tripped over the other person's legs as he fell to the ground, and though he felt the pain and got hurt, he only heaved a sigh at what he knew was coming next. And there it was, the accusing and the yelling for having to blatantly run into someone, the anger for having inconvenienced someone. If he had listened to Cassio two seconds sooner he might have only grazed passed them and earned a harsh side glare which he wouldn't have seen, but he was too caught up in his own thoughts to be really paying attention, and his sight was so limited in this small quiet town, he didn't know if he actually saw this person or not. Regardless, they were upset at him, but Copper wasn't going to sit by and just let them yell at him, he never did.
Copper could feel Cassio beside him, sniffing at him to make sure that he was okay, though he could feel the ever familiar stray sparks moving along Cassio's fur as a low growl came from the dog at the person who was starting to yell at them. Copper tried to keep Cassio's focus as Eco moved around them on her four broad legs, a soft, motherly coo coming from her voice before she leaned down with her long neck and grabbed at the shoulder of the shirt the other male was wearing in an attempt to help them up off the ground. She was going to try to help the situation the best that she could as Copper stood himself up off the ground, Cassio close beside him and glaring down the other human with his needles bared.
"Okay, I get it, I ran into you," Copper almost yelled back, if only for the sake of trying to get the other male to stop yelling at him.
"If you'll give me two seconds, I can apologize, but you have to give me a break. I don't normally play this card, but I'm blind," Copper huffed, getting ready to defend himself despite the fault in his actions. He didn't normally play his handicap card, but he wasn't just going to sit there and let someone yell at him like that.
"So you might have been right in front of me, but I wouldn't have seen you even if you were wearing some bright obnoxious color," he continued, though despite this and despite his explanation, Copper was looking directly at the male with whom he was speaking, almost making direct eye contact except for the pale blue irises that Copper had in his eyes.
"So believe me, I would love to watch where I was going, but sometimes, it's not as easy for some people, so back off from your yelling and just accept an apology," he finished, adjusting his clothes and trying to dust himself off in vain since he couldn't necessarily see the patches of dirt that clung to parts of his clothes. |

Lok Scratched the back of his head then booted himself up while brushing the dirt off his cloths, he also picked his sunglasses up and put them on his face, he then bows even though the boy could see he knew it was the respectful way to do. He than spoke in a apologetic ton and sensor as well.
Lok "i am deeply sorry for my words and actions, i didn't think clearly and to be fair i didn't see you coming ether. plus i'm very sorry for what i said cause i didn't know that you was blind, um if there is anything i can do to repay you please let me know." Said lok with a calmed down tone.
Lok looked at the boy while scratching his head and checked your body to make sure you don't have any serious injuries on you, meanwhile Turtwig looked at you Jolteon and made a friendly "turt" noise to greet the new pokemon he just met. |

Copper watched the other guy move into a sort of bow, and then his tone entirely changed as he started apologizing profusely to Copper for what had happened. Copper certainly wasn't one to get his feelings hurt over someone yelling at him for something simple like running into them, sure it was annoying because he did it more often than he would like because of the fact that he was blind, but he never expected any different treatment because of it. On the flipside though, Copper likewise wasn't one to take special treatment just because he was blind, he didn't want someone walking on eggshells just to tend to him or someone to treat him different just because he couldn't see like they could, and he listened as the other guy began to do just that, offering to repay him for what had happened.
"Okay, look, what happened happened. I run into people more than I would like, but that doesn't mean that I demand special treatment because of being blind," Copper tried to explain, sounding exasperated now at having to explain this very complicated topic to someone who just didn't understand.
"I don't expect anything from you, I don't really want anything from you either. It's hard to explain, but in short, yes I am blind, but I don't expect you to treat me any different because of it. In fact, I would appreciate it if you really didn't actually," Copper tried to explain the best that he could as he spoke to the other guy.
Beside Copper, Cassio stood alert and vigil as he always did, though his ears twitched at the sound of the small Turtwig on the ground in front of him. His eyes narrowed and a stray spark danced over the needles in his fur that were still sharp from getting ready to attack if he needed to.
"What do you want," the dog growled, though Eco above him was going to have none of that.
"Cassio, don't be rude, it's just a young thing. It's not going to hurt anything," she chided, looking down to the much smaller grass type. |

Lok Still Very sorry for yelling at Copper without thinking of the situations, but lok didn't know how to handle something like this for this is the first time he has interacted with a person who is blind for the first time. Lok still thinks on how to talk and explain things without being disrespectful or hurting the persons feelings, all he could do is talk to his the person like he would with any other normal human being. Lok took in a deep breath and exhales clearing his mind then began to speak in a calm and nice tone.
Lok Ryuta "Still i have to apologize for being rude earlier, i didn't mean to yell or disrespect you because this is the first time i've encountered a person who is blind. Lets just start over from the beginning. I'm Lok Ryuta im a new trainer here from the kanto region, i came here to further my training and explore new regions. i'm also gonna try to challenge the pokemon league here, but enough about me what about you?"
Lok said hoping to make a new friend in the region, meanwhile his turtwig looked at the jolten and tilt's its head and chuckled a little trying to be friends with the new pokemon. He then sat near Lok's leg so he can rest a little and let his master talk to the new stranger.

He was still covered in bits of dirt and dust that he couldn’t make out on his clothes, but he was otherwise fine from the encounter, if not a little hurt in his pride. It was things like these that always made him remember just how different he was from the rest of everyone around him, the little things that no one else has to really worry about. Sure people bump into people all the time, but not from the blatant fact that they actually and truly could not see them. It was just too quiet in this place, Copper could only make out a few feet in any direction unless a louder noise happened around him, and it was frankly kind of unsettling for him being in somewhere so small.
After having tried to explain the complex reasoning behind his refusal of help or repayment or anything of the sort, the other male still continued to apologize over and over, and Copper was getting just a bit tired of it.
”Okay, okay, if I accept your apology, will you quite apologizing? I get it, and thank you, but you’re kind of over doing it,” Copper spoke, but then Lok said something that had never occurred to him before really. He had never interacted with someone who was blind? That was a peculiar thought, certainly something he had never considered before, not until now. How many other people that he’d met or ran into had never interacted with someone who was blind? Surely it wasn’t that rare a condition that it was a one in a million chance of meeting someone like that, but to think that someone never had in the first place… He went on to try and start their conversation over, to something more civil and normal instead of Copper trying to explain how he didn’t want any handouts, introducing himself as a trainer from Kanto, wanting to explore new regions, and challenge the Pokemon league in Sinnoh. Copper couldn’t say that much for himself, but Lok turned the conversation to Copper soon after.
”Uh… I mean, I haven’t done that much? I’m from Unova, but I only have six badges from there,” Copper replied, stammering just a bit at having to suddenly talk about himself.
”I’m not really a trainer though, I mean, I have badges, but I still kind of don’t know what I’m doing. But it sounds like you do if you’re traveling to another region just to explore it and you’re just deciding to take on the Pokemon League here,” he continued, admitting to the fact that he really actually still had no solid idea of what he was doing. He was out here, and he was traveling, taking care in staying away from the Unova region, but he just didn’t have a clear idea of what he wanted to do now, especially being left to his own devices. He realized though after a moment he hadn’t returned the introduction, and while he still wasn’t feeling entirely social towards this guy, he could at least make the effort to be some semblance of human.
”My name is Copper Abernathy by the way. And really, don’t think you need to treat me any different because I’m blind, okay? I grew up like this, so I’m kind of used to it,” he finished. |

Lok felt embarrassed about being so Apologetic it was just one of his mothers teaching to always be nice and kind to new people no matter who or what they are, Lok wasn't trying to hurt the persons bride it was just a little hard trying to understand what a blind person is going through. He was amazed though that someone who was blind was able to earn 6 badges from a different region he's never heard about before. Lok nods smiling seeing no matter what or who you are you can do anything once you put your mind to it. He spoke back wanting to continue this nice conversation.
Lok "Amazing and please don't take this offensively but that's amazing for someone that can't see, can win 6 badges in a row that's amazing right there" He said hoping he didn't say anyhing too offensive "i've earned 8 badges at the kanto region but i was defeated at the indigo league by the dragon tamer called Lance. My charizard was.... defeated by a dragonite and his pride was hurt, But now me and my Charizard along with the new pokemon i'll encounter im hoping we'll win the leauge here. if you want we can team up?" The quiet atmosphere of the small town that Calla had brought him to was starting to weigh down on Copper. He remembered growing up in Nimbasa when his parents actually started letting him out of the house, the city of lights, people called it, but he was none the wiser. There was always noise though, always something happening and he could see much better and much farther there than he could in most places and he rather missed that. Some places were too small, or too spread out and rural, and therefore too quiet and he just couldn’t see as far as he’d like, or make out as many details of the things around him. He didn’t recall having this much trouble seeing in some of the places in Sinnoh he had gone to when he was participating in that race around the world, so he must not have traveled through this small town, but he was getting a bit antsy at not being able to make out his surroundings, despite having Cassio so close and vigilant as always, and he was kind of ready to get out. The guy Lok was still standing in front of him though, and was starting to comment on Copper’s so called accomplishments, and was still walking on egg shells so as not to offend with any comment that he might make. ”Seriously, you don’t have to beat around the bush or sugar coat anything, okay? You’re not going to offend me, trust me. I’ve heard enough comments about being blind to last a lifetime, and I have, because I hear pretty much everything like your heartbeat. So there’s not a whole lot that you could say to offend me, and if you do, I’ll tell you straight,” Copper returned, just trying to get Lok to relax about talking to someone who was blind. It really wasn’t like he was a child, or was speaking another language and couldn’t understand, or was deaf or something, he was capable of pretty much everything normal except when it comes to sight related things. ”But, thanks, I guess? I don’t really know what kind of measure it is to have six badges from one region, I know there’s something like eight total? So I guess it is an accomplishment like you said,” Copper replied in kind, accepting the compliment, though only halfheartedly since he really wasn’t sure how difficult or not it was for the average trainer to get six badges and beyond. For all he knew, the gym leaders could have been going easy on him because he was blind, and there was nothing he could really do to ever convince them otherwise since he couldn’t hide his pale irises. He was stuck on this thought for a moment before Lok continued speaking, retelling a bit of his travels and what he had accomplished so far. ”I don’t know what the Indigo League is, who Lance is, or what a Dragonite or a Charizard is, but that all sounds very impressive, and I’m assuming it is. Sorry you lost, that sounds kind of rough, but you must know what you’re doing otherwise so I guess you might be able to do something here in this region,” Copper replied honestly, really not having any idea in the slightest about what he was talking about, or the kind of Pokemon he referenced. It was exhausting trying to pretend like he knew what everyone was talking about twenty four seven with the different Pokemon there were, different cities and places they’ve explored and the kind of people they’d met, and he just wasn’t up for it, not right now, and he didn’t even realize that he felt the need to do so in the first place because he was around Ridley. Lok then asked if Copper would like to join him on his own travels, and the teen was honestly taken aback by the offer. ”What? I just told you I really still don’t know what I’m doing, I’d probably just slow you down if you’re trying to get somewhere. It sounds like you have a goal here, and I’m just wandering around aimlessly, I don’t want to hold you up on anything,” Copper answered. |

Lok Shook his head side to side for he didn't care if he met a friend with difference all he wanted was to make a new friend with Copper and maybe go on an epic adventure togther, for lok has never traveled with any one before that is human that is. All Lok's friend were mostly pokemon and his former team rocket allies he onces worked with back at the kanto region, so a friend that is different than his would really be too bad at all. He smiled at copper and spoke to copper as a friend.
Lok "You won't slow me down nor keep me from reaching my goals. I dont care if you can't see or hear or if your fat or skinny nor if your black or white. as long as your a good person and friend it dosen't really matter, i'd love to have you as a friend and travel together as a team"
Lok Said with kind words and hopping encouraging words as well, He also said that he didn't know what a pokemon league is so he tried to descried it to him as amazingly as possible. he started to speak about the pokemon league as if it was an amazing place for trainers of all kinds to test their skills.
Lok "A Pokemon league is like a massive stadium for powerful trainers of all kinds to come and test their strength, skills, power, and more. First you must battle the Elite four and once you take them all down you face the final boss which is the champion of the whole region. The elite four will have powerful pokemon and will take you on at full force but first you must have all 8 badges in order to compete and once you do! you challage the elite four, man if you had 2 more badges you can challage the elite four at the Unova reigon as well if your interested that is?" He said to Copper hoping he lift a fire in his very soul.

The idea of really getting back into gym battles again was both exciting and not so much to Copper at the same time. He knew that he enjoyed battles and that his Pokemon did too, and that it was a reason for him to get out there in the world and travel to each different place in order to challenge the next one, but at this point, he was kind of wondering what it was for any more. To collect all the badges, from different regions, he couldn't imagine really what the end goal for that was, what it would mean to have all of them and then not know what to do afterwards? And nevermind that he still felt off with everything that had happened lately, trying to recover, and for some reason he just couldn't shake that he felt a little more directionless than usual without Ridley to drag him around to where ever it was that she was going. Copper had a lot to think about, and surely didn't know how to process all of it, especially now that he was still pondering the idea of whether or not the gym leaders might have been going easy on him because of his being blind, but Lok seemed persistent despite the fact as he started to speak again. He seemed like a stand up guy, and had a good outlook on things, but friends and traveling together and becoming a team? And then he started going on about the Pokemon League and everything that it entailed, and that he only needed two more badges from Unova, and like hell was he going back to his home region where his parents had a chance of finding him and taking Cassio away. "Woah, okay, slow down there," Copper said finally after it seemed that Lok had stopped talking for a moment, a moment enough for him to step into the conversation again. "That all sounds pretty intense, the Elite Four as you called it, a champion of the region, but I'm not ready for something like that," Copper started, and though knowing now there was something even after receiving all eight gym badges from a region, being able to challenge an end game like that he felt a little bit better about gym battles in the first place, but that was something far from his skill level. He was lucky enough to have the badges that he did he was sure. He nearly had all of his Pokemon handed to him with their hides on a silver platter the last major challenge he took on, and he was not about to go through something like that again. Sure, he had confidence in his Pokemon, but it was him being smart and logical that he knew that his Pokemon and even he himself were no where near a point to even consider something like an elite four challenge and trying to go up against the champion of a whole region. "I'm probably lucky to have the six gym badges that I do, and being blind doesn't make things easy despite how I might think otherwise, so I'm pretty sure if I tried to go up against someone like that Elite Four like you were talking about, it would not go well," he continued. "I'm just trying to figure out things still, there's still things I don't even know about my own Pokemon, it's almost laughable that you think I could have the gall to challenge this Pokemon League. But that's all you though, if that's what you're wanting to do. I don't think the idea suits me very well," Copper admitted, just trying to cut his losses while he could. Battles were fun and all, but he wanted to know if there was something more out there for him to do, and never mind that he had no intention of going back to the Unova region any time soon under any circumstances. He might not be too sure any more about what he wanted to do with his life at the moment, but he knew that it didn't involve going home and getting caught by his parents. "Look, I'm sure you're a nice guy, but friends? Traveling together? That's a bit much a bit fast don't you think? We're not in primary school any more, friends don't come that easy," Copper returned, a bit blunt and a bit forward as he always was, but he was just being honest. "I don't have any plans for the forseeable future, so if you're really that keen on the idea, we can go around for a little bit, but we hardly know each other, friends might be a long shot," he spoke honestly, not trying to hurt Lok's feelings at all, but Copper wasn't exactly the friendly type, it wasn't easy for him to make friends for the most obvious reasons, so positive social interaction was not in his resume for friend making. |

Lok would give a sigh for he know what copper was saying to him and has the right to be cautious towards others, mostly a total stranger who randomly wants to be friends on the first met. It was kinda like trying to get married to someone on the very first date while you still know little about the person your meeting or to spend your life with. Lok knows too well from his days of following team rocket with all they're lies but at the time lok was desperate to be with someone and not be alone ever since his mother had died, he looks at copper and thinks of a better Solution.
Lok "How about this Copper. Lets travel with each other just this once to see if can at least try to get to know each other on our trip ever since we're going the same way. so lets try this if you think we can be friends and travel together after our little journey together then we can stay as pals, But if you think we won't make a good team or something we can both go are separate ways. Deal?
He waited ti see what Copper had to say to his little proportion on whether he agrees with lok's terms or disagree, Lok wanted to make sure copper had the choice and not feel like hes being forced to do anything he didn't want to do. |

He came to this region, or rather Calla brought him to this region, because he wanted somewhere new to go. He had waited long enough he thought for Ridley to come back in Cyllage city, and she never showed. He didn't want to go through Kalos any more, especially if he might run into her and more of her lies, but despite that goal in mind, he didn't have any direction. He couldn't go back to Unova, and frankly Kalos was even still too close to Unova for his liking, so staying in the east was a better option for him, but aside from that, he had no idea what he was doing or was wanting to do. It wasn't as though he was without ambition and a drive to keep going, that's why he was still out here in the first place, away from home and not wanting to go back, but he couldn't very well hold on to his ambition without a goal for him to reach or something to work for. This new region, this Sinnoh Region, was maybe the fresh start that he needed, especially after everything that he had been through in recent times. If he perhaps just got back to the simple things, focused on something other than nightmares and Ridley, maybe he would find something to work for again, something to continue to push him forward. And then there was Lok, who was offering still a chance to travel together and go through this region, and while Copper still was less than inclined to consider any one a friend, he knew that if he wanted to challenge these gyms here, and Lok would be doing the same, he would run into him again eventually, metephorically hopefully.
"Okay, we can travel together for a little bit, but just don't get your hopes up? Nothing against you, but I don't exactly do 'friends', so we might just end up splitting off. Just trying to be realistic," Copper replied, sounding just a bit exhasperated, if only for the fact that he really had no idea why Lok was being so insistent on becoming friends? It's not as though they'd done anything together, or had met in the past at all, and Copper would know that for certain. Like some people who just can't seem to forget a face when they meet someone, Copper would never forget someone's voice. He remembered just about every voice he heard, enough to recognize that person if he heard them speak again, and Lok's voice just didn't sound familiar to him. So none of this really made sense to the teen, it couldn't even really be as though Lok wanted something from Copper? He didn't have anything special, and certainly couldn't offer him anything, not money, not advice, Lok already seemed to know what he was doing having already been through this Pokemon League thing before, so Copper couldn't think of any realistic reason why Lok would want to become friends with someone who had no similarity or connection.
"It's cool and all that you're being social and getting out there and meeting new people to connect with, and maybe you are just really a naturally friendly person, but I'm not, so don't be surprised if this just doesn't work out. Besides, I'm sure you have better people to meet, someone who knows more about what you're doing with all this elite four stuff," Copper continued, really just stating the fact. He was inexperienced and still barely knew the first thing about being in this competative gym battle world, and Lok had a pretty solid grasp on what he was doing, so there was no reason why Lok should waste his time on someone like Copper who struggled so much.
"But that's enough about reality and honesty. If we're doing this, we might as well get moving. I don't even know where we are right now to go to the next town, so if you know where we're going, be my guest to take the lead," he commented, giving Lok the go ahead to start this little journey he was wanting to go on.

Lok sighs after hearing all the realistic talk and all as if he was being the reality check talk about reality and stuff, Lok was just glad he wasn't a team rocket grunt anymore otherwise things could have gone bad. Lok shrugs then took out his map and checked to see which city lok and copper would be going towards next and by what the map said's they'll be going to Jubilife city the city of joy. That should give Both Lok and Copper some time to determine if they wanted to stay together or not. he nods and looked at Copper telling him they're determination of where to go.
Lok "Alright then the first city we'll be going to is Jubilife city, that should give up some time to determine ether to stay together or not. Maybe i can buy a fishing rod there. oh well lets get going the city shouldn't be to far from Sandgem town" He closed his map "Lets get going shall we" Lok said and walks off wondering if Copper can follow lok because the fact he cant see him.
As lok walks a way to the towns exist he also knows that ether Jubilife city or Oreburgh city is where he'll meet up with the team galatic grunts, especially one named Mars who was the one that sent Lok the letter saying he would be much welcomed in the ranks of team galactic. He wonders what this team was and what is their goal in this world? money? world domination? or something bigger.... all he knew is that he has to meet them face to face to determine ether to join their cause or not.
Lok Thinks to himself *Team galactic huh? I'll have to meet them face to face to see what they're motives are. i should capture more powerful pokemon in case they want a trainer with a stronger team. I wont give up Turtwig though nor my charizard i'll have to at least even my team like at least a water type. yes a water type should even out the team. Charizard as fire, turtwig as grass, and hopefully a stronger water type* he looks back at Copper *i just hope he doesn't get in the way, i'd hate to have an innocent person become a person like myself hes been though enough as it seems.* He saids and sets off towards the next city |

As soon as Matthew left Professor Rowan's lab, he walked onto the field of Sandgem Town and pulled out the Pokeball that has Chimchar inside of it. He smiled at the Pokeball and utters the phrase, "Well, now that I've gotten my first ever Pokemon, I should get to meet him." He then points the Pokeball to the ground and pushes a giant button in the middle, calling his Pokemon out to meet him. The ball opens up, and a white light shoots out from inside, then traveling onto the ground and stopping there to rest. As the white light reaches the ground, it starts getting bigger and bigger until it starts to take the shape of the Pokemon.
As the light fades away, an orange body could be seen. This monkey was standing on all fours, its legs bent a bit and its hands big enough to touch the ground and cause the monkey to lean up. There was a big flame shooting out from where its tail region is, and on its head, there was a stationary flame at the top of its fur, probably to get this Pokemon some cool points. The monkey looked up at Matthew and offered a friendly "Chimchar." as it smiled, thinking that he was with Professor Rowan again. Opening his eyes, he looked at the body standing before him and tilted his head. "Char?" could be heard from the Chimchar as he looked up at Matthew. No way was he with Professor Rowan this time.
"Hi there, Chimchar." Matthew started, smiling at the fire monkey. "My name is Matthew, and I'm going to be your Pokemon trainer from here on forward. Does that sound good?" he added. Immediately, Chimchar started to look around for Professor Rowan. "Char? Chim... Chimchar?" Chimchar called out, still looking. Matthew then bent down a bit. "Don't you worry. Professor Rowan assigned you to me... Wait... I mean, he gave you to me... No no... What I meant is that..." he said, then trying to correct what he meant to say. A confused Chimchar then looked at Matthew and tilted his head. "Chimchar?" he asked, wondering if Matthew meant to say that Professor Rowan assigned him to be his new trainer.
"Yeah. That's what I meant to say." Matthew then said, nervously chuckling a bit. Chimchar then shrugged his shoulders and let out a, "Chimchar. Chim Chim Char.," to indicate that he'd have to get used to this sudden change in ownership. He then approached Matthew and shook his hand, looking up at him with a look of trusting. Matthew seemed a bit surprised when Chimchar started shaking his hand, but he smiled and shook Chimchar's hand back. "So, Chimchar, what do you say we start heading out on our new journey together?" he then asked him. Chimchar nodded as a reply, adding a quick little, "Chimchar," to say that he was ready to go with Matthew on his journey.
"Alrighty then." Matthew then said as he got up and looked around. "Hmmmm... First thing's first, we need to find out where to go. I mean, there's a whole big world out here in this region and there in others, and I've not a clue where to go for our journey to commence." he stated as he looked for a sign or any residents to point him and Chimchar off in the right direction for their travels. Chimchar started to look around as well until he saw a sign on the edge of town and went over to it. "Hmmm? Where are you going, Chimchar?" Matthew asked him as he followed him to the sign.

Once at the sign, Chimchar points to it for Matthew to see and lets out a, "Chim! Chimchar,' signaling for Matthew to read it and see where he is and where he can go to. Matthew turns and sees the sign. "Huh? What's this?" he mutters as he gets in a bit closer to read the sign.

"Hmmm... Sandgem Town, huh?" Matthew then says as he finishes reading the sign and looks around a bit. As he looks, he sees a pathway that looks like leads to Twin Leaf Town and Lake Verity. "Hmmm... That path does seem kind of lengthy, but it's worth going on." he thinks to himself as he moves forward a bit before stopping. "Hmmm... but then again, I'm not sure that that path would lead me back to where I came into Sandgem from." he thinks as he backs away for a bit and looks to the path that leads to Jubilife City. "Chimchar?" Chimchar asks as he tilts his head, wondering if Matthew had an idea of where to go to start the journey off. Matthew looks down at Chimchar and nods. "Just follow me, Chimchar." he replies as he starts to walk north toward the Jubilife City path. Chimchar follows closely behind and looks at him, having a feeling that his trainer would definitely need some help on his journey.

Pretty soon, Matthew comes to a stop, just on the north edge of town and points to the path in front of him for Chimchar to see. "That path right there..." he starts as he turns to make sure that Chimchar is watching. He then turns back around and finishes his statement with, "...that path is where we need to go in order to get our journey rolling." He then lowers his hand and looks at Chimchar. "So, what do you say, Chimchar? Are you ready for a journey unlike any other that you have ever been on?" he asks him. Chimchar, in response, let out a very confused, "Chim... Chimchar?" as a response, still wondering about Matthew.
"Hmm? What's wrong, Chimchar?" Matthew asks as he sees Chimchar answering awkwardly to his last question and bends down to pick him up and lift him up a bit. "Are you nervous about heading out to explore the whole region?" he then asks him. Chimchar shakes his head as a reply. "Afraid that I might lead us into some unwarranted danger, then?" Matthew then asks.
Again, Chimchar shakes his head before saying, "Chimchar. Chim Char Char Chimchar." to let Matthew know that there isn't usually that many strong Pokemon to be afraid of on the path to Jubilife City.
"I see..." Matthew then says as he puts Chimchar down. "Then what seems to be the problem, little guy?" he then asks his Pokemon.
About a few seconds later, Chimchar, through a series of "Chims" and "Chars" tells Matthew that he is unsure what to think of him, considering that it was not only his first time away from Professor Rowan, but his first ever time that he would be traveling and exploring the whole of the Sinnoh Region with somebody. He even questions if Matthew realizes that he might need a little help getting settled in and getting used to traveling with Pokemon. Matthew listens very carefully and takes Chimchar's questions into consideration. For some things, he would deduce that Chimchar is right about him. For example, this is his first time ever being an official Pokemon trainer, so he would have to learn about the basics, such as catching Pokemon, battling, and taking care of his Pokemon during the day.
"Huh. I see." he then says after Chimchar finishes. "Well, I'm not quite so sure what you were saying, but I'll be open and upfront with you. I'm not very experienced with Pokemon, even for someone that is nineteen years old. I've never traveled with any Pokemon before, I've never caught any Pokemon before, and I especially have never been in any Pokemon battles before." he admits He then lifts his head up to the sky. "There's a whole world out there that I know nothing about. I've a lot to learn about Pokemon themselves and what they are like." he continues as he then smiles and looks at Chimchar. "However,..." he then says, picking up Chimchar again. "It doesn't mean that I can't at least give this a try. Chimchar, I swear to whoever is above or below, that I, Matthew Jundzil, will raise you well, whether it be in Pokemon battles, wild Pokemon encounters, or the third; and I also swear that I will learn much about Pokemon like you so that I can become companions with the ones that I catch and the ones that I don't." he finishes, his face full of determination. Chimchar smiles a bit from Matthew's words of self-encouragement and hugs him, wrapping his paws around his body and nuzzling his chest a bit. "Chimchar. Chim Chimchar." he says to his trainer to let him know that he's ready to trust Matthew on this journey.
Matthew smiles and lets Chimchar hug and nuzzle him before putting him down on the ground again. Chimchar then hops onto his shoulder and hangs on, using his hands to hang on tightly. Matthew, seeing Chimchar do this, chuckles and pets his head. "I guess you want to travel with me on my shoulder, huh?" he asks as he gets a nod from Chimchar as a reply. "Okay then. Let's head out. To adventures we go!" he then cheers as he starts to head for Jubilife City with Chimchar, who is also cheering with him. |

Salac (Sweet +3, Sour +3, Bitter +1) x6 Moving into Sandgem Town from Jubilife, Copper had had a good amount of time to think while they walked and he only kept getting more and more excited about the thought that he might finally be able to get the kind of information and learning experience that he had missed out on for so long. He was blind, in both a metaphorical and literal sense, to the Pokemon world because he never had the right resources to learn about what he shared the world with, but this could be his chance to really start integrating himself into the world he wanted to be a part of for so long. With Cassio leading the way, Ostinato walked beside Copper while they moved through the small rural town, and it wasn’t long before they came upon the laboratory. He wasn’t exactly sure what it would mean to become a pokemon researcher for the professor here, but it had to be better than trying to learn with nothing, and so Copper walked up the steps to enter the lab, and asked for the professor.
Within moments, Copper heard a voice moving towards him, and he was met with the figure of a bulkier gentleman walking towards him, broad shoulders and wide hands, and Copper almost smiled too eagerly at being faced with the professor now.
”Hello there, I was told you were here to visit me,” Rowan inquired in a gruff tone, but he was smiling, Copper could hear it in his voice.
”Yes, uh, hi, my name is Copper, I’m from the Unova region,” Copper introduced after a moment, trying to gather himself and his thoughts that were racing. Ostinato sat now behind him while Calla remained close to the water type, but Cassio stood tall beside Copper right at his hip, looking up to the individual they were speaking with.
”Unova eh? You’re a long way from home, but by the looks of it, you’ve got a handle on things,” Rowan commented, the Samurrott and Jolteon both looked very well trained and conditioned, and he definitely took notice to the strange Azelf that seemed to be following him, he was almost confused about what this trainer was here to see him for.
”What can I do for you here,” he questioned then, looking back to Copper.
”Well, uhm, that’s nice of you to say… But to be honest, I really need your help,” Copper started, wishing that he could live up to what Rowan thought he saw in him.
”Long story short, being born blind doesn’t exactly give someone like me a lot of opportunities. I’ve only recently started to travel for the first time in my life, and I want to be able to do better for my Pokemon… There’s so much that I don’t know still, and it took me too long to realize that I could ask for help,” he mentioned then, having started to realize this for himself when he was told that Aban had disappeared. If he had been able to be better for both himself and his Pokemon, maybe the fire type wouldn’t have felt like he needed to run away from them…
”I heard that you help teach trainers, that I could become a researcher for you? I would really like to start learning and working on what I should have done when I started traveling, and if you would help me with that, that would be amazing,” he finished, hoping that he was still accepting trainers, or would be willing, or wouldn’t think that he didn’t need to, or would just say yes at all. His pale eyes looked up to the older gentleman, and while he couldn’t see the expression on his face, Copper was met with a hand on his shoulder and a firm grip that was somehow reassuring.
”That’s the best reason that someone could be asking for help, and there’s no shame in it. I would be pleased if you became one of my researchers, I think you’ll have quite a knack for it,” Rowan answered then, taking his hand off of Copper’s shoulder as he smiled beneath his mustache.
”You’ve come to the right professor too, I specialize in and study Pokemon Evolution, and through my program you will learn about and encounter so many different species that will help you gain a better understanding of the world that we share with them. Please, follow me,” the professor spoke after a moment, always pleased to have a new researcher to work with. Even in his time as a professor and working with his laboratory, it seemed that there was always something new that he himself learned from the vastly different techniques and views of the trainers that would assist him.
After spending a bit of time in the laboratory, Copper was not only fitted with a new sense of purpose and direction in being given his first research task, but it seemed that Rowan also had a young assistant that knew the region pretty well and could assist in Copper’s new travels. A young Lilipup was rearing to leave the lab and travel, and now Copper had a new addition to his team to begin his researching through the regions.
”It feels like we’re starting fresh, it’s kind of a relief... ,” Copper commented as he started out from the laboratory with Calla and Ostinato, and Cassio close by his side.
”Rowan said that more Pokemon are likely to appear to the north of here, past Jubilife, and we have to help train a Pokemon through all of its stages of evolution to report back,” Copper said then, finally being given a goal was the one of the most freeing things he had felt in such a long time. He was ready to get started on his new path as a researcher, and was eager to learn what was going to come from each task. |
