 "An industrial city studded with steam-powered marvels of modern engineering."
Known as one of the larger cities in Galar, Motostoke is a steam powered wonder in the heart of the region. Because of the diverse landscape that the heart of the Galar Region is made up of, the city is far from being on level ground where all of the streets and walkways can line up and all of the buildings can be seen from a distance. Instead of working against the landscape, the region instead built Motostoke around the giant cliffs and drop offs and waterways, and made a series of steam powered lifts, bridges, and other contraptions that help citizens travel through the city. In that regard, Motostoke is a heavy industrial area with many warehouses and projects underway, and its ever improving steam technology, but what really drives people here is the Motostoke Stadium where league challengers will take on Kabu for their third challenge.
{ Motostroke City Stadium (Click)}Kabu is the official Gym Leader of the Motostoke Stadium. He specializes in Fire Type Pokemon and hands out the Fire Badge to those who defeat him. Kabu is a Gym Leader from Hoenn, who almost because the Champion multiple times but lost at the last moment each time. Because of this he almost gave up his dreams of partaking in any league. But after almost defeating the infamous Leon, it reignited his dreams. Kabu then moved to Galar after being offered a job as Gym Leader. Because of his struggle in the Hoenn League, he is a stern battler with a no-holds-barred battle style. He believes no matter how hard the battle or opponent, there's always a way to win. His motto is to always keep learning and training as long as he is alive. Kabu's Stadium is a bit different then the previous stadiums. It is still just as large however it was built into the castle like city of Motostoke. While the stadiums in the previous gyms stuck out, this one fits in rather well with the City, and isn't even the largest structure. The gym sits towards the east of the city, and is built out of the matching red brick. It is a circular building however it has smoke chimney's towering over the stadium that always seems to be billowing smoke. The stadium itself has a small courtyard that sits around it, allowing grass to grow and sitting areas to contrast the heavy brick work of the city. Banners representing all of his fellow Gym Leaders decorate the walls of the outside of the gym. The lobby of his gym matches both of the previous Gym Leader with it's ticket booths and gift shop. Challengers will be lead to the dressing rooms where like most other challenges, the uniforms are requested. Exiting the dressing room the challenger will enter a smaller room with a small battle field that is completely over grown with grass going well over anyone's head. This is Kabu's Gym Challenge, which is mandatory. The Trainer must search for the gym trainers in the very tall grass. Despite it being grass, the type of grass it is doesn't seem to want to burn away, or cut, if tried. Once through the challenge they will exit the room into the massive stadium, where they will learn the challenges were broadcasted to the stadium's audience. The Grass isn't as vibrant as the previous gyms but still nicely trimmed with an open ceiling and a large flat battle field.  {Gym Trainer (Click)} Darren  Rolycoly Lv. 25 HP 200 Ability: Flash Fire: Activates when user is hit by a damaging Fire-type move. Once activated, user's Fire-type moves deal x1.5 more damage with type effectiveness. While this ability is in effect for five turns, this Pokémon is immune to damage from Fire-type attacks. For Fire-type Pokémon with this ability, Will-O-Wisp activates this ability without having an effect. If a non-Fire-type Pokémon has this ability, Will-O-Wisp will activate the ability and will have an effect Incinerate- 50 | Destroys any berry the opponent is holding.

She was born mute. While she knows how to sign what she wants to say, she prefers writing things down. She feels that people are more likely to talk to her instead of signing back if she writes what she wants to say. Even without a voice, Lala manages to be a highly expressive person. The best way to tell how she feels about something is to watch how she reacts. When she's excited she will bounce in place. When she's nervous or embarrassed she will attempt to hide her face. She will always find a way to communicate her emotions with her body. Since she was a child Lala knew she wanted to go on an adventure with her Pokemon but battling did not feel like a good fit for her. So far it seemed the Galar region was incredibly rural for a region as a whole, almost sort of like the Alola region in a way. Emiri had looked on the map to start planning things out for her routes to each destination, and while there was a smaller town just south of Wedgehurst, the next town north of Wedgehurst was miles and miles away. In between the two locations was nothing but sprawling open land, filled with lakes and rivers and cliffsides, and it was really honestly breathtaking to see. There was so much open space, spanning on for miles in every direction as they flew over the southern portion of the region, Emiri could tell that she was already enjoying the Galar Region.
Up next on their trip through the new region, the city of Motostoke was definitely strange to her. It was incredibly industrial, metal and construction and warehouses all over the place… And it was just a little too reminiscent of part of Darkrai’s realm where the steel types remained… But swallowing that and trying to put it aside, Emiri felt fortunate enough that she didn’t have to spend too much time in the city. Having been mounted on Kovu for the flight, still so incredibly happy that they were able to get him back into the air successfully, Emiri and the black dragon landed with the baby and Cerian in tow. They entered into the Pokemon center and gained their next stamp from Nurse Joy, ready to keep their pace to the next location for the region. Elfana Aroway Motostoke was a treasure trove of things to study. Elfana could have spent days studying the different lifts and bridges that connected the parts of the city. While she didn't have that sort of time, she still managed to spend a few hours just wandering the city aimlessly. As she had predicted, Pantalaimon had fallen asleep on the train ride to Motostoke. He continued to nap for the first hour of Elfana's tour of the city but when he woke up he would let out a happy little cry any time they approached something new. He had no idea what most of the things did but his trainer looked happy so that meant the contraption was good! Elfana was finally getting her wish to stretch her legs. They stopped in at the Pokemon Center after Elfana decided she had spent enough time exploring. There were eight more towns in the region that they needed to get through. She waited patiently at the counter for the nurse to stamp her booklet, avoiding acknowledging any conversation attempts that were directed her way. As soon as she got her booklet back, she stowed it away and headed right back out the door. They needed to pass through Galar Mine to get to the next town. She wasn't looking forward to yet another cave.Galar

Fortunately they were all powerful flyers and were able to keep up with the train's speed. She sat on the comfortable leather seat beside Lucy and watched her dragons flying and playing out of her window. She couldn't help but smile at them. She loved her Pokemon greatly and was so proud of how far they'd come and hwo strong they'd gotten. When the rain finally slowed down in Motostoke, she departed with the other passengers and found her dragons already waiting at the end of the platform. They walked down the streets and towards the Pokemon Center. However, before she could get there, someone called out to her. "Kira! Hey, wait up!"
"Christina!" Kira shouted once she'd recognized the girl. She raced over, leaving her Pokemon standing there in confusion. Only Lucy knew who this girl was, having lived with Kira briefly in her hometown. This was Kira's best friend who she'd grown up with and had hoped to find on her return visit. However, she'd learned that the girl had gone off on her own journey. She must have come to Galar! The pair of girls caught up on old times, and everything Kira'd missed out on about the girl's journey thus far as they walked together for the Pokemon Center.
They walked the whole way, and Kira did not even realize that her dragons had left to find something else to do while they spent some time together. Along the way, Kira learned about the Pokemon Christina had seen, battled, and captured. She'd even won against a Pokemon Trainer who'd challenged her to a battle. Kira wanted to know about the unusual Pokemon on Christina's team, since she had never been to Galar before. Christina told her about the GyGyms here, and how the challenges all took place inside huge outdoor stadiums with thousands of people watching and cheering for one side or the other.

Grim finally arrived in the city of Motostoke and made his way through the streets and people, eventually learning to stick to the sides of the crowds. As he wandered through the narrower less crowded streets a trash can suddenly rattled in front of him, a moment latter a Pancham leaped out and charged them. Grim didn't have any time to react, however Raika leaped in front of him with a snarl.

Raika ran back to Grim and nuzzled his leg until he crouched down and ruffled her fur.
"Thank you girl." The last thing Grim needed was yet another injury to deal with. As it was his shoulder and hand burned enough. They headed over to the nearest Pokecenter to get Raika healed before moving on, this time keeping away from any dark allies. As much as he wanted to train up, he didn't need to risk sneak attacks or muggers to do so. They could easily wait until they reached the mines. Moving among the other people made him nervous, but not overbearingly so. He could deal with people just fine, he just didn't like it what so ever.

As they reached the outskirts of Motostoke the crowd finally began to clear out. Grim took a deep breath of the fresh air and as they walked he slowly began to relax. they were almost to the mines and he was excited at the prospect of training with his team. They had already come so far. Raika's bark brought him from his thoughts as he blinked and looked at her. She stared directly ahead and gave a growl, and as he followed her gaze, he noticed a Rookidee pecking at the ground a little ways up the road. At Raika's bark the bird pokemon turned towards them and gave a cry.Lvl 10 Rookidee Appeared!
Raika used Nuzzle!

Grim arrived on the train and hopped off of the platform feeling fresh and energized despite his bad omen, if he considered it that. There was no more putting it off, he was going to do this! He made a line through the city straight to the pokemon stadium before entering and approaching the changing room. There he quickly pulled on his challengers outfit and headed out into the front lobby. This was it. However he didn't get far before he was stopped and led into a smaller room filled to the brim with grass taller than himself. "To challenge the gym leader you must find and battle the trainer hidden in the grass, win and you may fight Kabu." The hostess told him before taking her leave and leaving Grim alone in the grass-filled room. Well, not alone per say. Grim headed into the grass in search of the other trainer, finding it a lot more difficult to tell what direction was what the moment the grass closed over his head. After a few minutes of searching Grim smiled as an idea came to mind. He released Raika beside him and crouched down level with her."There's a trainer in this grass, find them and let me know where." With that the little Yamper was off into the grass, and after a few more minutes her barking could be heard over the grass. He followed the sound of her barking and soon pushed the long stems away to find a man among the grass, a very happy Raika standing in front of him."You found me, now you must battle me." The man led Grim out of the grass to a small cleared spot perfect for a battle, then he released a Rolycoly and the two prepared for battle. Likewise, Grim released Luckett to face off against them.Lvl. 25 Rolycoly Appeared!Rolycoly used Rock Polish! Rolycoly's speed rose by two stages! Luckett used Iron Tail! Rolycoly took 200 Damage! [0/200HP] Rolycoly fainted! Darren sent out lvl. 28 Growlithe! Grim returned Luckett and sent out Shade! Shade's attack was lowered by one stage! Growithe used Fire Fang! Shade took 15 Damage! Shade used Water Gun! Growithe took 60 Damage! [150/210HP] Growithe used Bite! Shade took 50 Damage! Shade used Water Gun! Growlithe took 60 Damage! [90/210HP] Growithe used Howl! MochaWith his Centiskorch defeated, the opponent having been able to successfully utilize the power and tenacity of Dynamax with the energy from the stadium, Kabu nodded curtly as he returned his partner to its pokeball. He knew well enough when a challenge had been won, and this was no exception. He was pleased at the decisive action the trainer took and the drive he had to keep working together with his Pokemon as they got weaker and weaker from battle. Kabu had wondered for a moment if he'd had his opponent on the ropes, but it was the turn around at the heightened cusp of the battle that Kabu could appreciate how things had turned out. "Hm. A victory is a victory, well done," he commented then, another nod as he started to move towards his challenger. "You do have what it takes to go far, but this is the turning point. Learning from the things you've experienced is what is going to make you a great trainer," Kabu mentioned then, knowing all too well that learning and keeping at it was the best way to keep on track. "Now is the time in which it is vital to start learning about the unique capabilities and talents that your Pokemon possess, practicing with them to know where their personal strengths and weaknesses lie. Working together is key," he offered as he held out his hand, holding out the fire badge for the victor of his challenge. Grim has received:
