Considered the heart of Melemele Island, Iki Town is one of the oldest settlements in the Alola Region, but always one of the most prominent. Nestled almost in the center of Melemele Island, Iki Town is still considered a village settlement rather than a city or even a town. The structures are quaint, with no major sky scrs or any busy streets, every home or building is connected by worn dirt paths and lined with the local foliage. Just southeast of Iki Town is the Melemele Sea that brings in crisp breezes and fresh salt water air from the ocean where islanders, local Pokemon, or visiting tourists can be found all year long enjoying the beaches and crystal clear water. This village is always eager for the new influx of traveling trainers that are coming to the Alola Region, but are set in their ways of being a very traditional settlement with their Kahuna Hala, and their strong ties to the Tapu Koko whom is said to reside in the Ruins of Conflict just past the Mahalo Trail. A Pokemon Center can be found at the bottom of the hill that leads south and then west to Hau'oli City, but otherwise Iki Town is part of the nature of Melemele Island, and the villagers like it that way. {Iki Town Gym (Click)}Hala is the Kahuna of Melemele Island and once a member of the Alola Elite Four. He served in the Elite 4 for a bit, but had to return back to Ikki Town due to being an Island Kahuna, to which he was replaced by Molayne. He specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon. He grants the Melemele stamp to Trainers who defeat him. As Kahuna of Melemele Island, Hala is considered one of the island's strongest trainers, and takes this seriously. He is seen as a family man, and fairly friendly, selfless, and protective of those that live and visit on the island. When trouble or peril happens on Melemele he is often the first to arrive and help. Like most in Ikki Town, he is a very traditional man, and often tells stories and legends of the islands. He is very knowledgeable about not only legends, but also the history of all of Alola and is happy to teach young trainers and tourists that visit. He even teaches from time to time at the Trainer's School. When he's not doing this, he is often at home with his family and grandson Hau, or around the town. Much like Ilima, once they officiated the League, and he stepped down as Elite Four member, he refused to allow any construction to be done to Ikki Town to accommodate the battles. His 'Gym' it found to the side of town and is actually held as a ceremony and tradition. There is a pathway leading up to where you will battle him, marked by tiki statue pillars scattered along the pathway. Following it all the way up, the challenger may find a large stage like field of stone raised a bit higher then ground level. It has carvings into the sides of the stage, and is entirely flat. Hala encourages those in the town and tourists to watch the battle as he feels it a sort of ceremony for the trainer, win or lose. There are large areas for those to watch the battle safely surrounding the stage, and often there can be live traditional ceremonial music playing as the battle is held. {Trial Pokemon (Click)} Mankey Lv. 20 HP 150 Male Ability: Defiant: Raises attack two stages upon having any stat lowered the first time Covet- 60 | Steals target's hold item. JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE Knowing that they were on strict timing, that the alarm would be raised at any moment, Magnus and his crew hurried away from Kukui's lab. The nearby Hau'oli City seemed a good place to start at first. It was busy enough that at the very least, they could use the confusion to disappear completely. Jasper knew they would have to lay low for a little while, maybe even for a couple of weeks. The wilds of Alola were expansive, at certain places you could walk in any given direction and not find civilization again for days. The trio blended into the crowd. Sure, Lucky and Rex weren't sure where they were going, but they trusted their boss without question. They believed with every fiber of their being that he would not lead them wrong. The more he thought about it though, the more the nearby Iki Town seemed the better choice. There were less people who would recognize or notice them up here.
Jasper paused outside of the Pokemon Center. It was likely that the starter Pokemon Kukui had were in perfect condition, and he wasn't the sort to go out of his way to tend to his Pokemon. Should he risk the exposure? Once Kukui realized what had happened, he'd alert the local Pokemon Center for sure. "We goin' in, Boss?" He looked back at Rex, but did not answer right away. He continued to weigh the risks.
The food and warm beds were tempting... but he wasn't an idiot. "No." He replied. He rolled his head around his shoulders, popping his neck. "No. We're going camping." The trio of boys had camped out under the Alolan sky very often as kids, choosing the untamed wilds over the untamed families who didn't care whether they came home or not. Jasper stalked off towards the outskirts of town. It was a little-known area with a rock shelf that rose up from the slight beach. That raise would shield them from search parties, but if tide came in they would have a very unpleasant awakening. When one of them made to mention this, he held up a hand. "I know. We'll have to deal with it until things calm down."
It was obvious that nobody was happy as they set up camp, but nobody complained - at least not out loud. They didn't even make a fire, aware that the light or smoke would give them away. They had dried jerky and bread stolen from the nearby town and went to bed. Despite the tropical climate, the wind sweeping in from the ocean left them chilled. Three figures in sleeping bags, mostly buried in the sand to aid in their hiding, slept poorly.

JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE Not a single one of them slept well that night. A number of times, Jasper heard the nearby footsteps of searching patrols (likely Officer Jenny) looking for them. It kept him awake and ready to run at a moment's notice. He would leave Rex and Lucky to distract Officer Jenny if he had to; they wouldn't be in serious trouble as they hadn't actually done anything -provably- wrong. They were well hidden, but if she had a Pokemon able to track scents he doubted the ocean's salty air would do much to disguise their location.
The next day they rolled up their sleeping bags in tired silence. They sat against the rocky shelf and split what was left of their jerky between each other. Jasper noted purple beneath the eyes of the other, which meant they had slept about as much as he had. "Tonight we'll find somewhere better to sleep. Maybe Ten Carrot Hill." They seemed to like this idea. Most of Ten Carrot Hill was rarely traveled by anyone unless they were indulging in the Island Challenge, and as far as he knew there were no trial-goers currently active. It would be a good place to hide out. At least they wouldn't have to worry about the sea breeze or searching Officers. "We'll have to go around the City. Don't wanna be seen." They nodded and finished packing up.
Jasper didn't have a bag, he didn't have much to carry around. Rex carried Jasper's sleeping bag as well as his own tied to the bottom of his backpack, so Jasper was free to move without anything slowing him down. This was good, in case he had to make a sudden run for it.

JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE Used to lazing about and not doing much of anything, it took the men all morning to walk around the City limits without being seen. It was a task made that much more difficult by the constant traffic and search parties looking for the stolen fire-kitten. Rex groaned as the smell of cooked meats from a stand in the City blew over them with the breeze. It was about two in the evening now, and Jasper was starting to get hungry. The problem was, they'd finished off their supplies that morning. "When we find a place to camp, you can come back down to get us some supplies." He told Rex. There would be no need for both Rex and Lucky to go, and Magnus didn't feel like waiting on his own anyway.
Distracted with his thoughts, Jasper did not register the sound of an approaching vehicle. Lucky hurried over to him and pushed him into the tall grass, where he lay without moving a muscle, not even daring to breathe, while the two men stood and watched the car pass with glares on their faces. Nobody would want to stop and mess with them, and Magnus breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the car drive off. When he rose from the grass, he looked at the faces grinning at him. He slugged Rex - hard - on the arm. The male clutched his arm and scowled. "What was that for?!" He shouted.
"Shut up." Jasper replied, and the other guy did. "Let's go." He didn't bother to disguise the order, and they didn't dare defy him or argue or complain. Instead all three of them kept moving towards their chosen hiding place of the night.

JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE If he was being honest with himself, the idea of returning to the scene of the crime did not appeal well. They would surely be expecting stupid behavior like this. He was pleasantly surprised to see the lab abandoned. Perhaps that idiot Kukui had given up hope... more likely he was at the festival to kick things off, but in either event he was not here to spot Jasper walking down the road towards Iki Town. Good, he didn't want to have to hurt the old fool - but he would if he had to. They outnumbered him three to one and Jasper felt that together they could overpower the taller, stronger man.
Not one of the three men said a word on the entire walk from the hills into the nearby town. They avoided the Pokemon Center - Jasper had used a couple Potions for his Pokemon after having them train against one another the previous night. They did not know what would happen when they got to the City where the festival was being held, but they each felt the same sense of nervous energy that one might feel before taking on the Elite Four. If this went wrong, then it could end with one or all of them in jail.

JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE J asper wasn't sure if the nearby Pokemon Center would have cameras, but to be on the safe side the trio crossed the road and continued walking on the opposite side of the street. At this point, the three of them could be anywhere on the Island. He hoped they would think he hopped a boat and left the Region entirely. That would leave him free to act without so much caution. For now though, they would continue being careful not to attract any attention from the locals who would know them and their many crimes.
The Town was pretty small, but it was not a very long walk to the City that was their destination. They would try to pass through quickly and quietly. They noticed that the town was mostly empty. It was good, but it was unnerving. Even though he suspected it was because they were all at the Festival, he couldn't help feel like they had cleared the roads so cops could spring some sort of trap on the three of them. If this was a set-up then it was a good one - he couldn't see any signs of hidden threats.

JASPER COLE BAD COMPANY I CAN'T DENY BAD, BAD COMPANY TILL THE DAY I DIE UNTIL THE DAY I DIE They finally got to the outskirts of town when Jasper spotted something suspicious. There were a number of wild Pokemon around, but one stuck out like a sore thumb. It was trying to act natural, blend in with the other Pokemon, but this Pikipek kept looking over at him and it was standing a bit too stiffly to be natural. He acted quickly, throwing a Pokeball that released Litten. "Burn that bird!" He ordered. Litten didn't even hesitate. It's Ember attack hit Pikipek before it could even get airborne. The Pokemon fainted instantly. Rex and Lucky started to ask what was going on, but Jasper cut them off. "Move. Now." He returned his Pokemon and walked at a much faster pace, forcing the others to jog to catch up to him.
When they were out of the area, he stopped and leaned against a tree to catch his breath. "That was an Officer's Pokemon, watching the area in case we came back. I knew this was a bad idea." He rubbed his head as if trying to rid himself of a headache.
"It's fine, by the time they find that bird we'll be long gone." It was Lucky, trying to make him feel better about the shitty situation. He wanted to punch the guy, but mastered the impulse and set off again. By now they could see the City. They were nearly there.

Cyren Braithwaite Cyren was less than thrilled with his sister's behavior towards the Professor and her new companion. She hadn't even bothered to release the poor thing and introduce herself to it! His expression remain calm however and he took his time thanking the Professor for his assistance before he followed Llorona out the door. He didn't hesitate to release his Litten once he was outside, kneeling down so he was as close to her level as he could manage without laying flat on the ground. "Hello, little one. It's nice to meet you." He held his hand out to the Litten, making it a point to allow her to decide whether or not he could pet her. If he remembered correctly Litten were not affectionate Pokemon. He smiled a bit when the little Pokemon rubbed her head against his hand. After greeting his new Litten he stood, turning his attention to his sister. "And hello to you too. Glad to see you managed to make it here in one piece." There was no sarcasm in Cyren's voice as he spoke. Despite the slight irritation he felt at her behavior he was genuinely happy to see his younger sibling. "I hope you brought something other than heels to wear. We've got a lot of walking ahead of us." He stood back up, motioning for the Litten to follow him before continuing on down the beach in the direction they had come from. His Litten followed along behind him, playfully hopping to each of the prints his shoes left in the sand. The current goal was simple- explore a bit and attempt to get his sister to let her Pokemon out of its ball for longer than a few seconds so she could begin attempting to bond with it. That was likely easier said than done.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 2/25 Wild Encounter: 2/5 Item Posting: Specific Lure 2/20 Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x{Pokemon} Rhea - Litten - Female Lv. 5 HP: 40 Exp: 1/15 Ability: Blaze: When HP is below 1/3rd, fire type attacks will do x1.5 their raw damage (type effectiveness included) Scratch- 30 Ember- 30 | 1/4 chance of burn Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage

Llorona BraithwaiteThe moment Llorona stepped back into the bright sunlight she squinted irritably, tossing the Pokeball containing her starter into the air haphazardly a few times in thought. With the first of hopefully not so many steps complete she turned herself immediately to her next goal with a bit of a scowl on her face. "Let's see... I need to gather my things, then we can find out where the first gym is... Eh, Probably shouldn't be too hard to just waltz on in and beat one of these backwater gym leaders even with minimal effort!" The girl remarked, tossing the ball into the air one last time before she snatched it and grinned at her own wit. A few badges to show mommy should be plenty enough to get her a ticket back to Unova and her very comfortable bed. When She heard the relatively familiar sound of a Pokemon being released, the dark-haired female rolled her eyes and turned her attention to her brother who seemed to be getting familiar with his new partner, her eyes turning to the ball she held in a mild debate on whether or not she should bother releasing it. As far as Llonora was concerned she could just as easily look up information on it with her Pokedex or phone and figure the rest out from there. "That thing is really, really small. Doesn't quite fit you at all Cyren. Not one bit." She half scolded, her lips moving in a sarcastic mimicry when he acknowledged her before she added - "Yeah, well some of us get jet lag when we fly halfway across the world to some place we don't even want to be. Also no, I left my running shoes in my other bag, you know - the one we lost on the flight in?" If she had noticed his lack of sarcasm, her own retort didn't show it, her face growing slightly red as a result of the frustration she now had to recall from the night before. That airport had been terrible! And now she was missing most of her essentials from home, things she was certain she couldn't live any extra amounts of time without. By the time she had processed her rage and managed to snap back to reality, Cy had already begun to walk ahead of her, causing the spoiled woman to pout irritably even while falling into step behind him. "Wait up! This sand is super hot on my feet and I didn't see any place to even buy new shoes! Cy? Can you at least tell me where we are going?" She called, beginning to fall into a light jog until she had caught up with her much taller brother. She had questions, and assuming he was going to keep his word to their mother, he would need to provide answers. Cyren Braithwaite "We're going to hang around here for a bit until our new companions are comfortable with us." Meaning she wasn't going to get a choice as far as releasing her Pokemon from its ball well. "From there I think we'll see what's in the area then move on to the next city." He continued after looking back to make sure his Litten was keeping up. The cat appeared to be having a great time playing in the sand. He smiled at the Pokemon before looking back at his sister. "We can see about getting you another pair of shoes once we reach the city, unless we can find a store somewhere in this town." Which would be amazing and save him so much grief. He shrugged, noting that they were nearing the edge of the beach. They would be on the path back to the town soon- a dirt path no less. He doubt he would hear the end of that any time soon. "There's a Pokemon Center in town. We can stop there for a bit to give your feet a break." It would also give him a chance to read up a bit more on the region. Cyren had spent the entirety of his flight to Alola reading up on the area but there was still a lot he needed to learn. The differences in the Pokemon there compared to the other regions was what fascinated him the most. He was going to enjoy encountering them. He stopped at the start of the path back to town, waiting for his Litten to catch up to them. Llorona was right about one thing- she was very small. He wanted to make sure she was keeping up with them okay. "Both of our companions will grow as we travel. Your Rowlet is likely just as small right now. You should take a moment to introduce yourself to it. Your Pokemon might not be willing to cooperate with you if you don't at least try to communicate with it."SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 3/25 Wild Encounter: 3/5 Item Posting: Specific Lure 3/20 Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x{Pokemon} Rhea - Litten - Female Lv. 5 HP: 40 Exp: 2/15 Ability: Blaze: When HP is below 1/3rd, fire type attacks will do x1.5 their raw damage (type effectiveness included) Scratch- 30 Ember- 30 | 1/4 chance of burn Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage

Llorona Braithwaite "Comfortable? From what I have been told the Pokeball is a pretty comfortable place for them Cy, besides what's the po- hang around?" Scowling was only going to give her wrinkles at an early age but given the circumstances, she could hardly be bothered to care. Llorona hated everything about this and it was quickly becoming clear that they were not on the same page. He was on a vacation, she was on a time clock. Still, stumbling through the sand to keep up with her brother - the woman held up her Pokeball, staring at it intently for some time. What did this thing even look like? She could hardly remember since she had grown bored and passed out almost immediately after trying to study. "Shoes would be nice, but I am willing to bet you a ten thousand yen that they don't have a single pair of good sneakers in this entire region. Did you SEE the professor?" She scoffed, not bothering to hide the small amount of contempt she held for someone in such a position dressed so... casually? That was the nicest way she could think to put it. When they finally reached the edge of the beach Llorona groaned miserably, wiggling her toes in the sand and turning her attention to the shoes she held. There was going to be no winning for her feet today, though her eyes wandered to the very large male beside her, a sheepish, deviant grin forming on her lips. "So.... My feet kinda already hurt, don't suppose I could get you to give me a piggyback ride? Like.. ya' know, we did when I was a kid.. before my big brother abandoned me." Pouring it on thick was probably not anywhere near enough to describe the level of guilt she was trying to pass off right now but she couldn't be bothered to care when her only other alternative was the very not so kind looking path of dirt. When he mentioned growing with his partner or whatever it happened to be, Llorona almost seemed to stop hearing him, sticking her tongue out and wiggling the ball in front of her brother. "Oh it'll cooperate. I finished second in the pokemon prep course in high school - and that's only because the miserable witch who beat me at the end decided she wanted to 'dedicate' her life to Pokemon like a loser... Besides, what makes you the expert? Don't tell me you spent the last eight years roaming the world as a trainer cuz' I kind'a don't see a single other ball on that belt tough guy." Cyren Braithwaite This adventure was going to be the ultimate test for his patience. Cyren took a deep breath before smiling pleasantly and shrugging. "Rowlet needs to store energy during the day. If you keep it in its Pokeball all the time you won't be doing it any favors. I'm sure it'll just sit in your bag and relax for a bit. They enjoy small spaces." He explained this in a completely calm tone before kneeling down and offering his hand to his Litten again. She approached him without hesitating, allowing him to scratch her head before wandering on ahead of them. He was happy to see that playing on the beach had left the little cat in such a good mood. "There are plenty of places in this region to find decent shoes. They don't have to cost a fortune to be comfortable." Still, he couldn't exactly expect her to walk around if her feet were a mess. Though it was not his fault that she had decided to wear the most impractical pair of shoes possible when she should have been aware of the amount of walking they would be doing, it was quickly becoming his problem. "Some of us took the time to read up on the region and the Pokemon we would encounter. I'll make you a deal- you let your Rowlet out and introduce yourself to it and I'll carry you as far as the Pokemon Center. Imagine how uncomfortable be if you were that little Pokemon and your first time meeting your trainer also happened to be the first time you were sent out in a battle. It's a living creature and it has feelings you need to take into consideration. That Pokemon is now your responsibility. You have to take care of it." He paused for a moment, grinning a bit before he continued. "Mom wants you to use this opportunity to grow as a person and she's expecting me to help you with that. If I don't see any progress, you don't get to go home. Simple as that." Which, of course, felt like yet another thing he was being punished for when it was in no way his fault. If this worked out though then perhaps it would be for the best- he would no longer be associated with his father's company and his younger sister might begin to resemble something closer to a human being. Llorona Braithwaite Drawing a small circle with her toe in the sand which he spoke, Llorona seemed to almost quite literally be ignoring him to the best of her ability. Yet she had heard every word, sighing reluctantly at the Pokeball she held. Eight years they had been apart. And while she felt she had largely remained the same, the only thing that seemed to remain of the brother who had left their family behind seemed to be their mother's 'I know what's best for you' speeches. "I beg to differ, when is the last time you wore a pair of zippies? Are they expensive? Sure, but they make you feel like you are walking on pudding!" Trying to smirk at the thought her shoes backfired when she remembered they were probably lost and would never be returned if this place was as bad as she thought. Llorona turned her green eyes on Cyren for a moment while he seemed to be offering her some sort of choice, or as they took to calling it in the business world - a bribe, walking past her brother and his new pokemon to quite literally test her options. Of course even the first time she pressed her heel to the dirt she winced, tilting her head back and groaning miserably. Sure, letting the pokemon out probably wouldn't kill her, and assuming he was right about the needs of this particular mon, it would probably help to keep it nice and strong for her first battle... But the thought of giving in was almost as painful as the burning sensation of the ground beneath her feet. Almost. "Alright, alright I get it. It's not a tool, it's a living, breathing creature, blah-blah-blah. You would make for a great Pokemon combat prep course instructor, you know that Cy?" Without a second thought she allowed the ball to slip from her fingers, watching it hit the dirt and open before catching the returning ball in an almost exaggeratingly bored manner. Once she had given herself a few seconds to try and clear her voice and 'be nice' to it, the girl turned her eyes down and took to staring the peculiar creature with a bit of honest confusion, tilting her head to the side even while the Rowlet returned her gaze and quite literally copied her - it's neck twisting unnaturally while it returned her gesture. It was a bird. It was a tiny, chubby, brown and green bird. Llonora's eye twitched at that moment - though whether it was from the borderline threat that Cyren had dropped on her or the fact that her lack of research had quite literally caused her to pick her least favorite type of pokemon was anyone's guess. Cyren Braithwaite Cy smiled a bit when Llorona actually let the Rowlet out of its Pokeball, though that smile faded as soon as he saw her reaction to it. He was curious as to why she suddenly seemed to concerned by her starter but he didn't get a chance to question her on the subject. During the course of her wandering his Litten had managed to stumble upon and upset a Ledyba. She had only wanted to play with the Bug type but it wasn't in the mood to deal with the curious kitty. Right as Cy opened his mouth to question his younger sister his Litten collided with his leg, whining up at him in an attempt to get his attention- as if suddenly being tackled by a tiny cat hadn't been enough to accomplish that. "What is it, little one?" He asked it in a gentle tone, following the Litten's gaze until he saw the angry bug that was attempting to chase her down. "Ah. I see you've made a friend." He grinned down at his partner before turning his attention to the Ledyba. "I don't suppose we could talk this out?" The Bug Type's attempt to tackle his Litten a few seconds later was a clear sign that they would not be able to talk things out. He motioned for his Litten to step out in front of himself, trying his best to reassure her that everything would be okay. "Don't let it intimidate you. You have the type advantage here, my dear. Even so, a Fire Type move shouldn't be necessary." And judging by the fact that his Litten had managed to run from the Ledyba up until then he could only assume that she was quicker than it as well. "Why don't you try using Scratch?" The Litten hesitated for a moment before jumping at the Ledyba, lashing out at the Bug Type with her claws. Her trainer was technically correct- she did have the advantage over the Ledyba. She just...really didn't like Bugs. The Ledyba fainted immediately, leaving the Litten to scurry back to Cyren. She didn't plan to wander away again any time soon- not when there were scary Bugs roaming the area! "Good job, little one." Cy took a moment to pet his Litten before looking back at his sister. "Seems this little one is already finding trouble. How are things going with your Rowlet? Your reaction to it was rather odd." Now that his Litten's battle was over Cyren was finally able to address Llorona's strange behavior. Perhaps she had been expecting the Rowlet to be something else? If she was looking for a Water Type they could always catch one for her later.

Llorona BraithwaiteLlonora was at a loss for words. Staring at the small pokemon she felt several things all at once, feelings and observations that clashed with each other to the point that they made her stomach hurt. She continued to stare at the Rowlet for what felt like an eternity, a bit of a cold sweat breaking over her face even with the tropical heat of broad day beating down on her. It had such strange eyes - the same eyes many bird Pokemon from Unova had - they were black and soulless, and way too frightening. By the time the Litten had scampered back to its trainer and begun to mewl, Llonora was shivering slightly, the hand containing Rowlet's pokeball very carefully rising as if she did not want the thing to know she was about to put it back and never let it out again. Perhaps if she went back and was polite enough the Professor would let her trade this one in? "W-what?" Physically whipping her head back and forth, Llonora managed to break from the staring contest long enough to realize that there was quite possibly a battle breaking out in front of her, stepping back while her tiny owl continued to watch it's trainer curiously. Needless to say, the little Pokemon observed her movements and twitched a bit, looking first to Cy and Litten, then ledyba, then back it's trainer before shaking its feathers and copying Llonora with tiny hops backward so that it could avoid interfering since that is what it's trainer seemed to be doing. "Uh - Cyren?! If you have the advantage you use it you big dummy! Don't be stupid!" She scolded, her strange bit of excitement causing her to stomp her bare foot into the ground and whine instantly. Of course, she had forgotten about her shoes! "Ow-ow-O-oh?" Although she had been hopping around on one foot so as to cradle the other - her emerald colored eyes never left the battle, she was half expecting her brother to pay for his mistake and did not want to miss it. When the little cat pokemon almost effortlessly knocked the insect into a faint however she paused where she was on her one leg, blinking in surprise and turning her attention to the small creature as her brother paid it a due compliment. A singular hit was all it had taken? And one that was a normal technique at that?! "Uh, erm...Y-yeah, that was kinda lucky, right?" She asked, carefully allowing her other foot to touch the ground and wincing slightly as a result even though the pain was extremely minimal. Knowing she had a much bigger problem on her hands at the moment though, Cy's sister seemed to skip the small part where she admitted she had been wrong about his ability, choosing instead to point her finger at the spot her Rowlet had been in and scoff. "It's a bird! I didn't know it was a bird!" She snapped, looking over to find the tiny bird had seemingly vanished. "Oh god... Oh god, where is it?!" She stammered in a panicked voice, whirling around frantically to look for the small creature even while unwittingly making the poor Rowlet who had chosen to nestle itself atop the bag she carried extremely dizzy. Cyren Braithwaite "It's a...oh!" Cy frowned, looking to the spot she had pointed at. He had also expected to see a tiny bird looking back at them and was surprised to see it had apparently gone missing suddenly. It didn't take him long to see where the owl had ended up. By the time he finally grabbed Llorona and held her still he was certain the poor thing wasn't feeling the greatest. He patted the Rowlet's head before turning and lifting his sibling on to his back. "I forgot you were afraid of birds." Had he remembered that sooner he could have corrected her back at the lab when she had chosen the Rowlet. He had been away from home for so long that something has basic as that had slipped his mind entirely. "It's a bird but it's your bird now. Try to get to know it. Perhaps you'll find it's not so bad." Cyren really hoped she did bond with the little owl at some point- for both her sake and the Rowlet's. The journey was not going to be easy for either of them if she decided she hated the poor thing right away. "I should have remembered and said something back at the lab." He was mentally kicking himself now for having forgotten about her fear of birds. It had been so long since he had left home that he had managed to forget something that was going to prove to be very important during their trip. He adjusted Llorona against his back, trying to shift her weight off of the scarred portions of it as he carried her along in the direction of the Pokemon Center. Learning where it was had been one of the first things he had done upon arriving in the town. "How's your foot? We'll see if we can get the nurse to look at it if we need to. They should be trained to deal with injuries trainers get during their travels." He was trying to distract her in an attempt to calm her down. Panicking would only make things worse. The Rowlet was completely innocent. It was a cute, chubby little thing. With any luck she would be able to see that eventually too.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 6/25 Wild Encounter: 1/5 Item Posting: Specific Lure 6/20 Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x{Pokemon} Rhea - Litten - Female Lv. 5 HP: 40 Exp: 8/15 Ability: Blaze: When HP is below 1/3rd, fire type attacks will do x1.5 their raw damage (type effectiveness included) Scratch- 30 Ember- 30 | 1/4 chance of burn Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage

Llorona BraithwaiteOh? She was losing her mind both because she had lost her only Pokemon and also because not knowing where it was meant it could be staring at her at this very moment- and all he could say was 'Oh'? Growling at Cyren when he placed his much larger hands on her in order to keep her still, Llonora actually struggled against him a moment when he lifted her onto his back despite it being something she had asked him to do. "What?! You FORGOT?!" She flailed, becoming so caught up in trying to decide whether she wanted to bite him, kick him, or hit him on the back of the head that she hadn't time to do anything before she finally discovered exactly where her Pokemon had run off to. "Oh." She managed, the singular word causing the girl to lean into Cyren and shudder a bit. She wanted to say something about how this was his fault, or about how she felt betrayed he had forgotten about one of her fears... But in her near terror, she found just enough humility to remind herself that this was entirely her fault. "My foot is okay, just a bit singed I guess. I'll be fine once I get some shoes or whatever." The usually talkative Llonora had finally decided it best if she tried to keep quiet, instead watching the town grow closer from over her brother's shoulders. Once they managed to get to where they were going she would put the small creature away until she could figure out what to do with it, but until then she would have to just hope it remained still and quiet and didn't look at her. What if it was staring at her right now?! ".... Cy? Is it looking at me?" She asked after several long minutes of clinging to him, the Rowlet on her back clearly confused by its trainer's behavior even while it began to coo in a low tone. It wasn't sure why the girl didn't seem all that friendly but as far as it was concerned she could just be nervous - which was fine for the tiny owl who had turned to face the road behind them and pick at its feathers. The sun was warming Rowlet's body and with any luck, it's trainer would acknowledge it soon enough. Cyren Braithwaite Cyren managed not to wince when she began to flail despite how uncomfortable it was for him. If she kept that up his back was going to end up hating him for carrying her later. Fortunately she stopped flailing, though he wasn't entirely sure whether or not that was a good thing as she seemed to be cowering against him instead. He continued along the path into town in relative silence, expecting her to continue yelling at him at any time. Had she decided to he might have let her this time around. When she decided to speak like a normal person for once it almost threw him off. "I'll see about finding a store on our way to the Pokemon Center. There has to be one around here somewhere." He said quietly before looking over his shoulder in an attempt to see the Rowlet. The little owl was in the process of grooming itself from the looks of it. "It's fine. The little guy is relaxing at the moment. Try saying hi to it. Talking to it might be easier while it's sitting behind you." The trip was quickly becoming more complicated than even he had expected it to be. His first task was simple- get his sister to talk to her partner. It was a task easier said than done but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try. "Maybe give it a name? This is your partner, little one. It's going to help you get back home. If it's going to do something like that for you then you could at least try to get to know it." Reminding her what her goal was seemed like the easiest way to get her to make an attempt to bond with the Pokemon. It would be a slow process but she needed to start somewhere. That Rowlet would help her get through the Gyms and back to Unova.SorukaNyoki Trainer Encounter: 7/25 Wild Encounter: 2/5 Item Posting: Specific Lure 7/20 Inventory: Pokedex, Pokeballs x, Potions x{Pokemon} Rhea - Litten - Female Lv. 5 HP: 40 Exp: 9/15 Ability: Blaze: When HP is below 1/3rd, fire type attacks will do x1.5 their raw damage (type effectiveness included) Scratch- 30 Ember- 30 | 1/4 chance of burn Growl- Lowers target's attack by one stage

Llorona Braithwaite" Thanks, I'll take whatever I can get." She replied flatly while he continued to carry her along, the trip giving her fear time to meld into mild anxiety - though this hardly stopped the woman from cringing every time she heard the Rowlet on her bag make a noise or shuffle enough that she noticed. Her fear was completely irrational, and Llonora was well aware of this. But no matter how hard she had tried to overcome it in the past it never seemed to get better. On a whim, Llonora pressed herself against her older brother and gave him a light squeeze. She would never actually thank him for carrying her, nor for coming home and agreeing to accompany the girl on her journey but... there was a very small part of her that was happy he had. Were she alone right now she would most certainly have been in tears. On his recommendation, the dark haired girl nearly hissed in defiance, carefully turning her head in the direction of the Rowlet who seemed completely distracted by sunbathing. "I-I can't say hi right now. I think it is sleeping and I don't want to wake it up." Though a terrible excuse to say the least, from what she could see it was the honest truth - her Pokemon's breathing remaining nice and even while she continued to watch it. Why did it have to be a bird? She had never even seen another grass flying Pokemon before in her life so it had seemed like such a safe choice! With a sigh, Cy's sister returned her attention forward, resting her chin on his shoulder and mumbling. "I think I know what to call it at least... how about dead eye?" she practically whined, shutting her eyes and trying to rest her body - remaining rigid was doing very little to help her mood. Cyren Braithwaite As they walked through the town Cy would occasionally look up to see if he could spot anything vaguely resembling a store. The sooner they found one the sooner he could set Llorona down and let her walk on her own. Remaining still as she was couldn't be doing anything good for anxiety. At least walking would provide her with a distraction. "Dead Eye?" Once again Cyren found himself resisting the urge to wince, though this time it was a result of his concern for the Rowlet. He didn't believe his sister was going to be a bad trainer but that didn't mean he wasn't worried that she might isolate her first partner. "I'm sure it won't mind it." He said calmly before stopping. While he was distracted he had wound up in front of a building that looked pretty close to what he was looking for. He entered the store, letting Llorona down from his back so she could walk on her own again. Cyren assumed pretty much everything in the store would appear painfully basic by her standards but he was sure they could still find something comfortable for her to wear. He patted her head before reaching back to light scratch Dead Eye's head. "I'll be waiting right here. Try to find something you can walk in for a while. I'm not sure when we're going to arrive in the city." Cyren left Llorona to her search for a decent pair of shoes, kneeling down so he could talk to his Litten. He hadn't actually discussed her nickname with her yet. "Do you like Rhea as your name?" The little cat tilted her head and stared up at him, appearing to be considering the name. After a few moments she nodded. She had decided she liked the name. "Rhea it is then." Llorona BraithwaiteAlthough she did not acknowledge her brother verbally when he questioned the name she had chosen, Llonora did eventually nod against his shoulder in reply. The nickname fit the creature did it not? While Cyren continued to walk and she continued to be completely useless her mind wandered unnecessarily, causing the woman to occasionally shift herself uncomfortably as a result of her negative thoughts. What would she do if she couldn't get over her fear of the Rowlet? What if it evolved into something even worse than it was now?! Llonoroa simply couldn't shake these thoughts, even when it had become apparent they had stopped walking. "I hope so because if it doesn't end up liking the name It'll probably get angry with me and try to peck my eyes out." The woman stated in a half pout, opening her eyes and blinking several times absently while she looked around the village. They appeared to have some sort of small shop for tourists so... neat? Clambering down onto the ground, she was reminded just how much different the world looked when your much larger sibling carried you around - her attention turning to the exposed rows of clothing items available before she remembered the bird still sitting patiently on her bag. Heaving a sigh, she gently pulled the shoulder bag around so that the bird Pokemon was visible to her, swallowing the lump in her throat while she attempted not to get sucked into another staring contest. "Rowlet? D-dead eye? Erm... Sit? Stay. Sit here and wait for me? I just need to get shoes." She half expected the thing to squawk at her for whatever reason and nearly jumped out of her skin when the tiny bird complied, it's head twitching several times in recognition before it spread its tiny wings, leaped off of her bag and onto the ground. It had listened to her - Success! Of course, she completely forgot to thank the tiny creature, scampering away from it and into the store barefoot. "I won't take long, I promise!" She called back with a wave, her Rowlet hopping up and down in place a few times to mimic her movement before she disappeared from sight and left the poor Pokemon to ruffle it's own feathers and coo in a slightly depressed manner. Its trainer was a strange creature, the girl hadn't even acknowledged it yet! Perhaps she was still nervous? The small owl seemed to ponder these things, turning to the litten behind it and chirping audibly. Someone would have to keep it company until Llonora returned. Cyren Braithwaite Rhea repeated her new name back to herself in her head several times, both to test it out and to get herself used to it. She really liked it. Her trainer was really nice for giving her such a cute name! She had just sat down and lifted her paw to her mouth so she could groom herself while she waited for...whatever it was they were do there to be completed so they could move on to another place when she was chirped at. The Litten lifted her head and set her paw back down on the floor, turning just enough to see the Rowlet that was trying to get her attention. She stood, stepping closer to it so she could sniff at the little owl curiously. This one belonged to the strange female that was traveling with her trainer. She paced around the little owl slowly, studying up and down before she sat down again in front of him. "Hi. My trainer called me Rhea. What did yours call you?" The Litten puffed up pridefully when she said her own name and smiled. "Your trainer is that person traveling with my trainer, right? She's a little strange." Strange didn't begin to cover the moody female but Rhea decided to try to phrase it a bit nicer. She wanted to attempt to make this bird her friend. "They look alike, don't they?" She waved her paw towards her trainer before licking at it lazily. "I think they're related but he's so much bigger than her. I can't be sure. Humans that hatch from eggs from the same parents are weird sometimes. They can look so very different." The Litten brushed her paw against her ear a few times before yawning lazily, standing so she could stretch herself out. "I like my trainer so far. Llorona BraithwaiteMuch like it's trainer, the Rowlet had half expected both the large, imposing human and it's Pokemon to completely disregard it for one reason or another. So when the fire type Pokemon almost immediately took interest in him, Dead eye shrunk down, it's neck becoming non-existent whilst puffing it's feathers defensively in case the cat decided it didn't like him. "H-hi there, why are you sniffing me?" The tiny mon asked nervously, it's head turning three hundred and sixty degrees so as to never let the fire type leave his gaze. Of course, when the feline sat down, The owl relaxed just slightly, correcting its neck and quickly bobbing up and down in mild, uncontainable excitement. The other Pokemon had spoken to it! "Rhea? Yes, yes - I heard him earlier, he seems so nice!" the grass type exclaimed, continuing on almost immediately in a much less jolly tone - "My trainer... She didn't actually talk to me but I think she calls me Dead-Eye. I don't know what that means but it sounds a lot less pretty than Rhea." Performing the bird equivalent of a shrug, Rowlet continued to watch the Litten Puff up - it's uncontrollable desire to replicate anything it saw causing it to plume it's feathers a bit more. Truthfully he didn't mind what his trainer decided to call him as long as she eventually gave him a nice pet or something. He had waited a long time for someone to show up and take him out of that ball after all! The tiny Owl ed it's head off to the side curiously when the Litten brought up his trainer, a mixture of confusion and concern in his voice when he chirped his reply. "She is a little strange. She smells of fear, but I dunno why...I just hope it isn't me. And I was thinking the same thing! Your trainer is so big and warm looking compared to mine but maybe they are from the same litter?" When the Litten lifted its paw to play around with her ears, the Rowlet opened his wings to try and do the same automatically - only to find that it was more than a bit impossible without paws... or ears. This combined with the Litten's obvious connection to its trainer caused the little owl to shrink down again sadly - his attempt to reply to his new found friend interrupted when Llonora returned looking about as miserable as she had when the woman went into the store. "They didn't have anything worth anything. These feel like they are handmade - which is by no means a compliment!" The grass Pokemon looked over at Llonora and the sandals she had purchased, trying to show some form of excitement at just how pretty they seemed to him - wrapping around her ankles and up her legs slightly. But of course, the female didn't seem to pay him any mind, causing the Rowlet to turn back to the fire mon and ruffle its feathers. "I'll let you know when she talks to me..." Cyren Braithwaite "Curiosity." She responded when asked why she had sniffed at the Rowlet. The Litten smiled a bit at how excited the Rowlet was to talk to her, though it quickly turned to a frown when she saw how down he was about his trainer. Rhea reached up with her paw and patted the owl's head gently. "It'll be okay. She'll talk soon. Becoming a trainer is scary I think and she needs time to get used to you." When the Litten heard her trainer speaking to the female she went silent, watching them expectantly. She assumed whatever they were supposed to be doing here was done now that the female had returned. That meant they were going to leave soon. "You can walk with me if you want. My trainer is a good boy. He's letting me decide if I like him or not." Rhea purred and grinned. "I like him already 'cause he's big and nice but don't tell him that!" While his Litten was busy chatting with the Rowlet, Cyren had been keeping himself distracted by reading through the information he found on Littens and Rowlets in his Pokedex. He assumed anything he found there would be more accurate than what he had read on his phone during the flight to Alola. "They look nice and they're bound to be more comfortable to walk in than your heels." Cyren commented when Llorona returned appearing less than pleased by the shoes she had found. He doubted they were as bad as she was trying to make them sound. He closed his Pokedex, storing it away in the same pocket his phone was in before motioning towards the door. "Ready to go? If your feet are fine then we shouldn't have to stop by the Pokemon Center." Which meant they could do some more exploring before moving on to their next destination. He wasn't going to allow Llorona to rush to the first Gym. Neither of their Pokemon were prepared to take on a Gym right now. They needed to be given some time to grow. Llorona Braithwaite "You really think so? It's scary being someone's first Pokemon and I tried to make her like me but..." The little owl trailed off, glancing at it's trainer while she paraded around in her new footwear. Humans were strange creatures indeed, but that did not make Deadeye want it's trainer to love it any less. She seemed to be trying to have some sort of squabble with her older brother about him underestimating just how bad the sandals were - but they looked fine to the tiny Pokemon! While he continued to watch her stamp back and forth, the bird's eyes narrowed slightly at something that had begun to move beside the shop, something her trainer was quite literally stomping towards without even realizing it. "Watch out! Don't step on-" He squawked to his trainer only to find his voice had the opposite effect he intended. The moment the Rowlet began to chirp and cry aloud - Llonora jumped, stumbling backward and tripping over a rock. Of course, she fell flat onto her butt, hissing irritably at the Rowlet. What was this thing trying to do? Kill her?! "What is wrong with you?!" She snapped, reaching for the Pokeball she had on her belt now so that she could finally put the creepy pokemon away. Unfortunately, she had barely managed to lay her hand on the device before she realized Deadeye might not have been trying to scare her after all, the 'rock' she had tripped over wriggling angrily and freeing itself from the soil it had chosen to relax in. She knew what this Pokemon was, she had seen it in her own region a few times - the only difference was that this one did not seem very happy to see her. "O-oh... Cy? Cy help me!" She begged, not bothering to worry for her dress in the slightest as she slid herself along the dirt and away from the advancing Bonsley. For a brief moment, the poor little owl seemed to be in just as much a panic as his trainer, chirping and jumping up and down in an attempt to gain the attention of either his new friend or its trainer. Someone had to help her or she would get hurt! It did not long however for Rowlet to realize that if anyone should be trying to help his trainer it should be him! He wanted her attention and maybe, even if she couldn't seem to understand him, saving her from the very angry Bonsley just might do the trick. "Get away from my trainer you big, stupid, rock tree thingy!" He cawed, his wings spreading as wide as his tiny form allowed in an attempt to draw the rock type away from Llonora... Even though he hadn't actually expected it to turn on him so fast. Shrieking in a panic as the Bonsley turned and tried to tackle him - Deadeye nearly forgot he could fly for a moment, rolling along the dirt and narrowly avoiding the advancing foe before slapping it's tiny wings against the dirt and taking to the sky. One glance at his trainer was all he needed to know to understand that he was on his own for this - which was fine by him, he would save her and finally get her to acknowledge him as her own! Just as the enemy mon turned around and began to jump angrily at the unfair advantage provided by flight, Deadeye puffed it's chest and gave his tiny wings a mighty flap - several feather-shaped leaves shooting from him and hitting the poor creature dead center. The effect seemed pretty instantaneous to Rowlet who remained hovering while he watched the very defeated Bonsley fall over just as his trainer tossed a Pokeball at it. "I did it!" He chirped, watching the ball wiggle on the ground for only a second before the Pokemon inside seemed to give up without much of a fight. Round One... DeadEye used Leafage (-30) Bonsley fainted!
