Welcome to Pokemon Hidden Legends! Your adventure is soon to begin in the wonderful world of Pokemon where you will encounter many different species and many different trainers all around the world!
1.) All rules are in place to be followed, please be mindful
2.) Don't spam any role playing forums. There are places for advertisements, bumping, and anything else. There is no need to interrupt while someone is role playing in a role play specific thread. You will receive a warning and your posts will be deleted
3.) Remain active. Our expectation of activity is, at the minimum, one post in a month's time. If you are going away and will not have internet access, need to take a hiatus for school or other real life priorities, please just let us know! Otherwise, we will make attempts to reach out before further action may be taken
4.) Literacy is required, so please use punctuation correctly, glance for spelling errors, and one word action posts are not acceptable. We do not have a set word minimum or line minimum in the forum, but do try to have some fun with the content of your posts!
5.) It goes without saying that you are expected to treat your fellow members, as well as any moderators and staff, with respect and dignity. Should issues arise between members and quarrels are brought up, action will be taken as seen necessary.
6.) Any form of God-modding will be handled with action and consequence. There will be no tolerating controlling other characters or taking action without the explicit permission of your role playing partner.
7.) Any explicit content in regards to sexual activity or otherwise will be removed from the content of a post. If in the course of role playing that kind of action is called for, you will be expected to time skip or handle it off site.
8.) In regards to violence, graphic depictions of action and gore, language and other more mature content, this role play will cap off at a light to moderate R rating. That being said, please be mindful of your fellow members and if a request is made to tone down the content of your posts, it would be a courtesy to comply to that request. We reserve the right to mediate the content of your posts if you are going too far with some graphic details and language.
9.) You will not be required to decorate your posts or make them 'pretty', at minimum just your character's picture and their name somewhere. Be mindful of the color of the text you are using, not everyone can read neon yellow or cyan blue. Within your posts, please make an effort to separate text from dialogue or inner thoughts with the use of italics, bolding or otherwise, and try to separate your posts into paragraphs when they start getting long so no one has to read through a block of text.
10.) All character pictures will be expected to be in art style, no face claims or real pictures, and should someone already be using the picture you've chosen, you will be asked to change it.
11.) You will be expected to keep a Pokedex to keep track of your captured Pokemon, their information and attacks, and all items that you have should you not keep your inventory in your posts. Your Pokedex is your own responsibility and must be updated to account for new Pokemon or new items. We are not responsible for information on a Pokemon or items that you may have lost.
12.) We reserve the right to revise these rules as seen fit.

2.) Everyone is human in this role play unless given explicit permission otherwise. You are more than welcome to come to us with questions about what it is that you might like your character to be or be capable of, and we will do our best to see what can be accommodated!
3.) There is no age restriction past the necessary minimum of 10 years old to start on a Pokemon journey. Otherwise your characters can be as old as you would like, or maybe even have a parent/guardian traveling with them if they are younger
4.) Absolutely no canon characters from anime, manga, or games or use of cannon character pictures. Original characters only! We have many of the canon characters in the RP as NPCs already, so we do need to keep them as they are
5.) While training and moving through the league is the general focus of the role play, your character is not limited to only being a trainer. We offer systems for contest coordinators, Pokemon rangers and breeders, and you are able to use creative freedom to determine what else it is in the world your character might aspire to be. Note: All gym leader and coordinator positions are filled by canon characters or NPC characters. There are open positions for OCs is Region Champion after defeating the Elite Four of a region or the Contest Region Champion after defeating the Regional Cup Champion. However, your character can only hold one of these titles at a time.
6.) Pokemon have personality too! Have fun giving your Pokemon personality and creating those stories between them and your trainer, or between other Pokemon!
7.) All characters regardless of age start off with the standard Level Five starter Pokemon from any given Professor. This does not, however, mean that your character has to be new to training. Your character can be as seasoned or not as you would like, but they must be starting on a new journey without any other prior Pokemon upon starting here in the role play. Likewise, the only items you will have upon starting are standard Pokeballs and Potions.
8.) Regardless of your character's residence, you are welcome to start in any region that you like to receive your choice of a starter.
9.) You are allowed to carry more than the standard 6 Pokemon with you for role playing purposes, but these Pokemon will be in your 'out of party' section and will not be able to battle for exp or receive exp from posting. There is no limit to how many out of party Pokemon you may carry with you, but we do expect you to be realistic about it.
10.) You do not have to remain within the region that you've claimed your starter in. You are free to move inter regionally as you please.
11.) Within the role play we allow a few Pokemon the ability to talk to humans, usually due to being a strong psychic or ghost type. However, any Pokemon knowing the move "Psychic" will be able to communicate with humans around them, excluding Baby Pokemon, up until the move "Psychic" is forgotten in which they will no longer be capable of communication.
We compiled a list of the only Pokemon that can talk to humans based on evolution, types, cannon communication, and other attributes that contribute to them having the capacity of human communication, and these are the only Pokemon that have those attributes:
